Speaker 2 (02:50):
Hello, I'm Grace. For tonight's sleep Song by pray dot Com.
We will be meditating on Psalm seventy eight. Care to
listen to God's word and meditate on his love and faithfulness,
on his power and goodness. Begin by relaxing your body,

(03:11):
calming your heart, and quieting your mind. Lie down flat
on your back with one hand palm facing down on
your stomach, and with the other hand palm facing down
on your chest. Breathe in through your nose slowly. Feel
your stomach expand notice how the hand on your chest

(03:35):
remains still as you breathe in. Hold your breath for
a few seconds. Breathe out through your nose slowly and
feel the air flow from your lungs into your stomach
and throughout your body. Take a few more deep breaths
through your nose. With each breath, feel your heart rates

(03:59):
slow down with each breath. Feel your body relax. Close
your eyes and focus on your body's response to the
oxygen flowing through your veins as it restores and rejuvenates
every cell, every muscle, every joint. Open your eyes and

(04:23):
take a deep breath through your nose as your stomach expands.
Visualize lifting your burdens and anxious thoughts to the Lord.
Exhale slowly through your nose and feel the heaviness leave
your body as the Lord takes away your stress and anxiety.

(04:44):
Breathe in his goodness and love. Breathe out any stress
and tension. Allow his still small voice to guide you
to a place where you can rest peacefully as you
listen to his word. To Night's psalm reminds us of
God's unfailing compassion and love, and of his relentless pursuit

(05:08):
of his people. As we lay down to sleep, we
can find comfort in God's faithfulness, knowing he will guide
us by day and night and rescue us and restore
us with his protection and provision. Psalm seventy eight from
the King James's version says, give ear, o, my people,

(05:31):
to my law. Incline your ears to the words of
my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable
I will utter dark sayings of old, which we have
heard and known, and our fathers have told us. We
will not hide them from their children, shewing to the
generation to come the praises of the Lord and his

(05:52):
strength and his wonderful works that he hath done. For
he established a testimony in Jacob and a pointed a
law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they
should make them known to their children, that the generation
to come might know them, even the children which should
be born, who should arise and declare them to their children,

(06:16):
that they might set their hope in God, and not
fear the works of God, but keep His commandments, and
might not be as their fathers. A stubborn and rebellious generation,
a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose
spirit was not steadfast with God. The children of Ephram,
being armed and carrying bows, turned back in the day

(06:40):
of battle. They kept not the covenant of God, and
refused to walk in his law, and forgot his works
and his wonders. That he had shoot them. Marvelous things
did he in the sight of their fathers, in the
land of Egypt, in the field of his own He
divided the sea and caused them to pass through, and

(07:02):
he made the waters to stand as an heap. In
the daytime, also he led them with a cloud, and
all the night with the light of fire. He clave
the rocks in the wilderness and gave them drink as
out of the great depths. He brought streams also out
of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.

(07:26):
And they sinned yet more against him by provoking the
most high in the wilderness. And they tempted God in
their heart by asking meat for their lust. Yea, they
spake against God. They said, can God furnish a table
in the wilderness? Behold, he smote the rock that the

(07:46):
waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed. Can he give bread? Also?
Can he provide flesh for his people? Therefore the Lord
heard this and was wroth. So a fire was kindled
against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel, because
they believed not in God and trusted not in his salvation.

(08:11):
Though He had commanded the clouds from above and opened
the doors of heaven, and had rained down manna upon
them to eat, and had given them of the corn
of heaven, man did eat angels food. He sent them
meat to the full. He caused an east wind to
blow in the heaven, and by his power he brought

(08:31):
in the south wind. He rained flesh also upon them
as dust, and feathered fowl like as the sand of
the sea, and he let it fall in the midst
of their camp round about their habitations. So they did
eat and were well filled, for He gave them their
own desire. They were not estranged from their lust. But

(08:54):
while their meat was yet in their mouths, the wrath
of God came upon them and slew the fattest of them,
and smote down the chosen men of Israel. For all
this they sinned still and believed not for his wondrous works.
Therefore their days did he consume in vanity, and their

(09:15):
years in trouble. When he slew them, then they sought him,
and they returned and inquired early after God. And they
remembered that God was their rock and the High God
their redeemer. Nevertheless, they did flatter him with their mouth,
and they lied unto him with their tongues. For their

(09:36):
heart was not right with him. Neither were they steadfast
in his covenant. But he, being full of compassion, forgave
their iniquity and destroyed them. Not Yea, many a time
turned he his anger away and did not stir up
all his wrath, for he remembered that they were but flesh,

(09:57):
a wind that passeth away and cometh not again. How
oft did they provoke him in the wilderness and grieve
him in the desert. Yea, they turned back and tempted
God and limited the Holy One of Israel. They remembered
not his hand nor the day when he delivered them
from the enemy. How he had wrought his signs in

(10:19):
Egypt and his wonders in the field of Zwn, and
had turned the rivers into blood, and their floods that
they could not drink. He sent divers, sorts of flies
among them, which devoured them, and frogs which destroyed them.
He gave also their increase unto the caterpillar, and their
labor unto the locusts. He destroyed their vines with hail,

(10:43):
and their sycamore trees with frost. He gave up their
cattle also to the hail, and their flocks to hot thunderbolts.
He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath,
and indignation, and trouble. By sending evil angels among them,
he made a way to his anger. He spared not

(11:03):
their soul from death, but gave their life over to
the pestilence, and smote all first born in Egypt, the
chief of their strength, in the tabernacles of Ham. But
made his own people to go forth like sheep, and
guided them in the wilderness like a flock. And he
led them on safely, so that they feared not. But

(11:25):
the sea overwhelmed their enemies, and he brought them to
the border of his sanctuary, even to this mountain which
his right hand had purchased. He cast out the heathen
also before them, and divided them in inheritance by line,
and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.

(11:46):
Yet they tempted and provoked the most High God, and
kept not his testimonies, but turned back and dealt unfaithfully.
Like their fathers. They were turned aside like a deceitful bow.
For they provoked him to anger with their high places,
and moved him to jealousy with their graven images. When

(12:06):
God heard this, he was wroth and greatly abhorred Israel,
so that he forstook the Tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent
which he had placed among men, and delivered his strength
into captivity and his glory into the enemy's hand. He
gave his people over also unto the sword, and was

(12:27):
wroth with his inheritance. The fire consumed their young men,
and their maidens were not given to marriage. Their priests
fell by the sword, and their widows made no lamentation.
Then the Lord awakened as one out of sleep, and
like a mighty man that shouteth by the reason of wine,

(12:48):
and he smote his enemies in the hinder parts. He
put them to a perpetual reproach. Moreover, he refused the
tabernacle of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of but
chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion, which he loved.
And he built his sanctuary like high palaces, like the earth,

(13:10):
which he hath established forever. He chose David also his servant,
and took him from the sheep folds from following the youths.
Great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people,
and Israel his inheritance. So he fed them according to
the integrity of his heart, and guided them by the

(13:30):
skillfulness of his hands. Reflecting on all the wondrous works
of the Lord throughout history and throughout our lives, reminds
us we serve a compassionate, loving father who will do
anything to protect and provide for his children. Knowing he
is always faithful to us, even when we are unfaithful,

(13:55):
he fills us with his hope for tomorrow and helps
us find rest in him. Tonight, breathe in and out slowly.
Meditate on the power and strength of the Lord. In
his power, he will provide your daily bread, sustaining you
through the day and night. In his strength, he will

(14:19):
cover you with his protection, keeping you safe and secure
as you rest. Take a deep breath, be filled with
his truth, grace, and love. Exhale slowly, and release any lies, fears,
and doubts that are keeping you from finding satisfaction in him.

(14:42):
Know his word is like manna coming down from heaven,
satiating your appetite, fueling your mind, body, and soul. Allow
His truth to guide you through the day and through
the night. Allow his light to shine upon you, keeping
you warm as you sleep. Think of a time when

(15:05):
you lost faith and hope in God and took your
own path that led you far away from him. Confess
any sins, Confess any doubts you have of God's goodness
and faithfulness. Ask for his forgiveness. Pray he will help
you walk on his path and not go astray. Take

(15:27):
a deep breath, Allow his mercy and love to wash
over you. Exhale slowly and release your guilt and shame.
Know he is always faithful to forgive our iniquities and
to restore our relationship with him. Rejoice in the power
and strength of the Lord. Praise him for his provision

(15:50):
and protection. Thank him for the wonderful things he has
done for you. Give him glory for the miracles you
have witnessed. Thank him for his faithfulness in your life.
Think of some one who needs to be reminded of
God's faithfulness. Pray you will draw their heart toward Him

(16:11):
and fill their heart with his glory and praise. Lay
your requests before the Lord. Ask for his provision and
protection to night. Know he is always faithful to answer
your prayers. Pray for God to give you the courage
and the opportunity to share your testimony with others. Pray

(16:34):
you will remind you of all the wonderful things He
has done for you so you can share them with
the next generation. Pray for God to make your paths straight.
Pray he will deliver you from temptation so that you
may follow His commands. Pray for God to refresh your mind,

(16:54):
body and soul with his love, grace and truth. Pray
you will experience deep, RESTful sleep tonight in His presence.
Breathe in and out slowly. Release any stress and tension
that is still lingering from today. Put your hope and

(17:17):
trust in God. Allow his faithfulness to bring you joy
and peace. Take a deep breath, close your eyes and
exhale slowly, surrendering to God, knowing you will rest safely
and securely in His hands throughout the night.
