Speaker 1 (00:03):
I'm Bishop td Jakes, inviting you to unwine your mind
and spirit with Tonight's sleep Psalm. Unless the Lord had
been my help, my soul would have soon lived in
silence Psalm ninety four seventeen. Heavenly Father, I pray tonight

(00:28):
for vision, clarity, and wisdom. The day's troubles and worries
can be all consuming, keeping my mind from genuine rest.
As I drift away to sleep, Tonight, anchor my thoughts

(00:51):
in you. Tether me to your precepts, so I have
not tossed to and fro with worry. Fools will sleep
without reflection, and the prideful of those without considering their purpose.

(01:12):
But I want to surrender to you before sleeping. I
want to repent of my shortcomings and be renewed by
your will. Do all these things for your glory and
my good in Jesus' name. Amen, Thank you for praying

(01:41):

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Hello, I'm Grace. For tonight's Sleepsalm by pray dot Com.
We will be meditating on Psalm ninety four. Relax your
body and clear your mind. Focus your thoughts on God.
Remember he is the righteous judge who will right all

(02:58):
the wrongs in the end to restore his world and
rescue his people. Find comfort and peace when you put
your trust in the Lord and allow him to administer
his mercy and justice in your life. Take a deep breath,
lift your hurts and pain to the Lord. Exhale slowly

(03:23):
and let go of any anger, bitterness, or unforgiveness in
your heart. Surrender the wrongs others have committed against you
to the Lord. Feel the heaviness in your heart, lighten
and the heaviness in your shoulders. Lesson. Relax your neck

(03:45):
with your next exhale, release the tension in your body.
Open your heart to hear God's word. Ask him to
teach you his ways and lead you to a safe,
secure place place where you can rest in Him. Although
the wicked seem to prosper in our world. To Night's

(04:08):
psalm reminds us God will sustain his people until the
day he casts judgment on the wicked. Psalm ninety four
from the King James's version says, O Lord, God, to
whom vengeance belongeth, O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.

(04:29):
Lift up thyself, thou, judge of the earth, render a
reward to the proud Lord. How long shall the wicked?
How long shall the wicked triumph? How long shall they
utter and speak hard things? And all the workers of
iniquity boast themselves. They break in peaces thy people, O Lord,

(04:52):
and afflict thine heritage. They slay the widow and the stranger,
and murder the fatherless. Yet they say, the Lord shall
not see. Neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.
Understand ye brutish among the people, and ye fools? When
will ye be wise? He that planted the ear, shall

(05:16):
he not hear? He that formed thee eye? Shall he
not see? He that chasteth the heathen? Shall he not correct?
He that teacheth man knowledge? Shall he not know? The
Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity
blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, o Lord, and

(05:40):
teachest him out of thy law, that thou mayest give
him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit
be digged for the wicked. For the Lord will not
cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.
But judgments shall return on to righteousness, and all the

(06:03):
upright in heart shall follow it. Who will rise up
from me against the evildoers, who will stand up for
me against the workers of iniquity. Unless the Lord hath
been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence
when I said, my foot slippeth thy mercy, O Lord,

(06:24):
held me up in the multitude of my thoughts within me,
thy comforts delight my soul. Shall the throne of iniquity
have fellowship with thee which frameth mischief by a law.
They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous,
and condemn the innocent blood. But the Lord is my defense,

(06:48):
and my God is the rock of my refuge. And
he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall
cut them off in their own wickedness. Yea, the Lord,
our God, shall cut them off. The Bible tells us
the corruption of this world and the arrogance of the
wicked are temporary. Our God, who formed our ears, can

(07:12):
hear the boasts of the wicked. Our God, who formed
our eyes, can see the injustices being committed until the
day he returns to cast judgment on the world. God
will sustain us with his mighty hands, strengthening us in
the day, comforting us in the night. Take a deep breath.

(07:38):
As your enemies rise against you, the Lord is rising
against them. His strength will sustain you and give you life.
Exhale slowly and release your fears to the Lord. Know
he is your fortress that surrounds you by day and

(07:59):
protects you by night. Breathe in and out slowly. When
you feel your slipping away in the darkness, imagine God's
unfailing love supporting you and sustaining you. No, he will
not let you fall. Take a deep breath. Lift your

(08:23):
anxious thoughts to the Lord. Exhale slowly and release any
anxiety from today. Allow God's love to comfort you and
lighten your load with his joy. With your next exhale,
release any tension lingering from the stress of today. Think

(08:47):
of a time when someone hurt you and you retaliated.
Rather than waiting on the Lord, confess any anger or
bitterness in your heart. Ask for his forgiveness and for
his help with forgiving the person who hurt you. Take
a deep breath, allow God's forgiveness to soften your heart.

(09:12):
Exhale slowly, and release any guilt and shame you are
experiencing right now. Know your sin and shame are covered
with the perfect righteousness of the Lord. Rejoice in the
salvation of the Lord. Praise him for his mercy and justice.

(09:33):
Thank him for sustaining you with his unfailing love. Thank
him for the times he delivered you from the temptation
of this world. Thank him for the ways he has
comforted you. Think of a person who needs God to
bring his justice to an unfair situation. Pray he will

(09:54):
intervene on their behalf. Pray they will wait patiently on
him to restore their reputation and hold others accountable for
their actions. Make your requests known to the Lord. Know
you will answer them in his perfect timing. Trust him

(10:14):
to do what is best for you and for others.
Pray for the vulnerable in your community, such as the widow,
the immigrant, and the orphan. Pray God will show you
how to care for the people he holds dear to
his heart. Pray for God's help with resisting the temptation

(10:36):
to avenge the wrongs committed against you. Pray you will
trust Him to dispense his mercy and justice. Pray for
God to protect you against those who seek to hurt you.
Pray you will rest safely in His hands. Tonight. Breathe
in and out slowly. Take refuge in the Lord as

(10:59):
you lay down to sleep. Allow his comfort to fill
your heart with joy and your mind with peace as
you surrender to Him to night.
