mind at ease Tonight, as I surrender to the gentle
embrace of slumber, remind me that no worldly accomplishment is
worth sacrificing my peace. In you, I do not want

(01:15):
to gain the world at the cost of my soul.
Anchor me in that truth to night and ussure me
into a peaceful sleep. In Jesus's name, I pray a man.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Hello, I'm Grace for tonight's sleep song by pray dot Com.
We will be meditating on Psalm ninety five. Tonight's song
is a song of praise to the Lord. So let's
get comfortable and prepare to lift our hearts and praise
the Lord. Lie down in a quiet room where you

(03:02):
can reflect on the glory of the Lord. Keep your
back flat and straight. Bend your knees and use a
pillow or blanket for support for your neck. Take a deep,
cleansing breath through your nose. Hold your breath for a
few seconds, then exhale slowly through your mouth. With each breath,

(03:28):
watch your stomach expand and contract, pulling the air from
your lungs and pushing it throughout your body. Relax your
shoulders gently. Rest your hands by your side with your
palms facing up toward the ceiling to lift praises to
the Lord. Close your eyes and meditate on the sovereignty

(03:53):
of the Lord. Picture him as the great King, enthroned
above all other kings. Know he holds your whole world
in his hands. Know there is not a safer place
to be than in his arms. Take a deep breath
and surrender to the Lord. Exhale slowly and lift today's

(04:18):
concerns to him, and feel the heaviness leave your chest.
Take a few deep breaths. With each breath, feel your
heart rates slow down, Feel your mind calm, and your
muscles relax. As you get ready to listen to God's word,

(04:40):
ask him to speak to your heart and lead you
down a safe, secure path where you can find refreshment
for your mind, body, and soul. The Bible reminds us
of the greatness of our God, and if we listen
to his voice and follow his way, we will find

(05:01):
rest in him. Psalm ninety five from the King James's
version says, Oh, come, let us sing unto the Lord.
Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of
our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving,
and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For

(05:24):
the Lord is a great God and a great king
above all gods. In his hands are the deep places
of the earth. The strength of the hills is his.
Also the sea is his, and he made it, and
his hands formed the dry land. Oh, come, let us
worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord,

(05:47):
our maker, for he is our God, and we are
the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand.
To day, if ye will hear his voice, harden not
your heart. As in the provocation, and as in the
day of temptation in the wilderness, when your fathers tempted me,

(06:10):
proved me and saw my work forty years long. Was
I grieved with this generation and said, it is a
people that do err in their heart, and they have
not known my ways, unto whom I swear in my
wrath that they should not enter into my rest. To night,

(06:33):
come before the Lord with thanksgiving. Reflect on who he
is to you. He is the rock you can count on,
the Creator who delights in you and sustains you, and
the shepherd King who cares for you and protects you.
Worship the Lord in spirit and in truth. To renew

(06:55):
your mind and satisfy your soul. Focus on softening your
heart to the Lord. Close your eyes and picture your
heart contracting and relaxing with each heart beat. Breathe in
slowly and Look deeper into your heart until you are

(07:16):
staring at its core, where you can see a faint
light resembling God's glory trying to break through. Breathe in
and out slowly focus on his light. Visualize your heart
opening to the Lord's presence and allowing his glory to

(07:39):
completely fill your heart with his joy. As your heart
pumps oxygen into your veins. Feel his glory flow throughout
your body, keeping you warm through the night. Think of
a time where you hardened your heart to the Lord
and followed a path that led you astray. Acknowledge any

(08:02):
unconfessed sin from that time. Ask God to forgive you
for your mistakes and to help you move forward on
his path of life and righteousness. Worship the Lord in
your heart. Lift your hands to praise his wonderful name.
Thank Him for his salvation that secures your future. Thank

(08:25):
Him for the ways he provides for you and protects you.
Think of a person who needs God's guidance to night.
Pray God will draw them near and speak to their heart.
Pray they will listen to his voice and return to
his path where they will find rest. The Lord is

(08:47):
your shepherd, and he wants to take care of your needs.
Ask him for his provision and protection to night. Pray
you will recognize the Lord voice and you will follow him.
Pray you will enter his rest. Pray your heart will
be filled with gratitude. Pray he will remind you of

(09:11):
his goodness and faithfulness in the darkness of the night.
Inhale and exhale slowly, breathe in the joy of the Lord.
When you breathe out, feel his joy brighten your heart,
warm your body, and ease your mind. Close your eyes

(09:36):
and allow your shepherd to lead you to his quiet pasture,
where you can renew your spirit and rest your body
and mind.

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
