There is a new moon solar eclipse on October 2, 2024 at 2:49pm ET which will provide an opportunity for deep introspection and transformation, particularly in the realm of relationships.

The new moon is about closure and new beginnings - notice any recurring themes or patterns that may be surfacing or coming to a head. These insights and learnings will be invaluable as you navigate the coming months.

Eclipses are known as pivot points, marking significant shifts in our lives. This particular eclipse, occurring in the sign of Libra, is focused on relationships. Remember that relationships don’t only occur between two people - they can also be based on your work, your health, your home & family, or your spirituality.

Think about the two most important relationships in your life right now and assess what needs to be healed in those relationships in order for you to feel happy, healthy, significant, abundant, or peaceful.

Libra is about balance and harmony and it may be time to re-write terms or adjust how you live everyday.  Are there areas where you feel out of sync or disconnected? Ask yourself: What do I bring to this relationship? What do I appreciate and receive from this relationship? What is this taking from me? How am I not using my voice in a healthy way? How am I stuck?

Take the time to address these imbalances, remembering that true healing often comes from within. Find a way to speak your truth, while coming from a place of honesty and integrity - stand up for yourself, not against others. Being true to yourself will only  help encourage harmony and honesty with others.

This is a key moment of empowerment - determine what you need,  your role, your power and sovereignty. Journal about what feels imbalanced and if you’re really ready to heal.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
Hi everyone, it's Amanda Rigu Green. Welcome to Soul Sessions. Today,
we are moving into the second of two major eclipses.
We are still in eclipse season. There is a new
moon solar eclipse in Libra on October second. The exact

(00:31):
time of the eclipse is two forty nine pm Eastern
Time on October second. So just a quick reminder and
rule of thumb. Whether you're dealing with a new or
a full moon, or we're dealing with an eclipse, there's
like this build up before the exact point of the

(00:53):
new or the full moon. So whatever is happening in
the days leading up to it's like that's where you're
gathering data. You know it's coming to a head, it's
coming to a culmination point. So just remember on October second,
wherever you are in the world and whatever time zone
in you convert it, you do the math, but it's

(01:15):
basically two fifty in the afternoon Eastern time. After that moment,
that's where the clarity starts to come in. That's the
apex and the crescendo of the energy. It's almost like,
don't act before you have all the data. That's the
way I think about New and full moons, but eclipses
are pivot points, they're about transformation. They signify six month cycles.

(01:41):
And we had the Pisce's full moon eclipse which was
pretty immense. Let me just say this because I want
to like put some food for thought out there for you.
Pisces is ruled by Neptune and many astrologers because we've
had Saturn in Neptune and there was a lot of
net tune activity during the Pisce's full moon eclipse. A

(02:04):
lot of astrologers were talking about massive flooding because Pisces
is the water sign, and we have Saturn in Pisces
right now, and they've been talking about rising waters flooding,
and look at what happened in the United States with
the hurricane. Also there's been massive flooding in Poland and

(02:24):
other places in the world. And so a lot of
love to everyone in all the states affected by the
hurricane because it kind of came out of nowhere. I
don't think people anticipated the damage, but damage from rising waters.
And as someone who primarily grew up in Louisiana, I've
been through my fair share of hurricanes, and the first

(02:46):
one I remember that was really difficult was Hurricane Andrew.
I think I was in maybe fourth grade or fifth
grade something, fifth grade, sixth grade, something like that, and
we didn't have power for two weeks. But rising water
is no joke. You know. We we sometimes take for
granted our safety and the things that we have. And
I think about being in times of natural disasters or

(03:10):
when something really major happens, and how people come together
no matter our socioeconomic status, our ideologies, and so oftentimes
whatever you're experiencing in life, even when it feels like
a disaster, a natural disaster, sometimes that's when our true

(03:30):
colors come out to show up and support people and
help people. So I want you to think about that
eclipse season wise, these last couple of weeks for you
and moving into this Libra new Moon eclipse on the
second and the couple of weeks following, because we're still
in eclipse season through about the twentieth of the month.

(03:52):
But whatever may be showing up in your life, you
know who is rising up to meet you or who
are you rising up to me and coming from your heart?
Because the Libra new monoclipse it's Libra, so it is
about relationships and for goodness sakes, that's one of the
cornerstones of being human. Like it or not, relationships is

(04:14):
a thing we cannot escape on this planet. And even
if you isolate and even if you seclude yourself, you
still are stuck with the relationship with yourself. So anyway
we look at it, this is a fundamental aspect of
being human. So Libra libranwmon eclipse, so the sun and

(04:35):
moon will be together in Libra. I was actually born
at the exact point of a Libra new moon, so
I kind of know this energy, like it or not,
you know, it's hardwired in my genetic code, in my blueprint,
in my bones. And here's what is important. We're starting
out this six month cycle. It's a new moon eclipse,

(04:55):
so it's about beginnings, and over the course of the
next six month there will be an emphasis on the
rebalancing of relationships. I mean that is just the one
oh one of it. But any time we have an eclipse,
whether it's a new or a full moon, there's an
element of closure. Eclipse is signify beginnings and endings. So

(05:17):
before you go to conceptualize what you want to call
into existence or heal or grow or expand in your relationships,
in the months ahead, I would encourage everybody to think
about what needs to be let go of, what needs
to be healed, what has out moded, outserved its purpose,

(05:38):
what is no longer relevant for you in relationships? And
when you think about relationships, it's easy to go to
the relationship with a partner or a spouse, or a child,
or a parent, or a co worker, a friend. But
I think sometimes in broader terms with relationships, I think

(06:00):
about my relationship to work, my profession, my relationship to
my home and family, my relationship to my spiritual life,
my relationship to my health and well being. Like you
fill in the blank and get a little bit broader,
zoom out and think about the top two relationships in

(06:23):
your life. Like if I ask you that right now,
what are the top two that come to you? For me?
The first one is my relationship with God, spirit, my soul,
my spirituality, and my like just my optimal health and
well being. All of that falls into that category for me.
And the other one is home and family. And multiple

(06:44):
things fall into the category of home and family. So
what are your top two? Is work the first thing
that came to you, And look, don't judge yourself like,
be honest, what's the first relationship that you think is
the most important to you today, and what's the second one,
or what's tied for first and second place, whatever it
is is, think about those relationships and get honest. Okay,

(07:04):
you know what needs to be healed or rebalanced in
those relationships in order for me to feel healthy, happy,
well seen, respected, significant, abundant, peaceful, fill in your blank,
but really recognize what relationships are standing out for you.

(07:26):
And sometimes the relationships that stand out for us are
the ones that are the most painful because they exhaust
us the most or they cause us the most challenge
and pain. And that's okay too, because those are the
ones that have the most to show us where we
get to grow. And the important thing in thinking about Libra,
Libra is an air sign, so it is about looking

(07:49):
at things from both perspectives. Libra likes to look at
both sides of things and then decide the fairness, the
middle point, the balance. It likes to gather the data
and then make a decision that it feels like is
even keeled or balanced. And then on the flip side
of that, Libra is indecisive as all get out. You know,

(08:14):
So it's either decisive and clear or it's indecisive. And
the other thing about Libra that it's important to consider
is avoiding conflict, and that is one of the cornerstones
of Libra's shadow side, is not speaking up for itself
in order to keep the peace, to keep the balance,

(08:36):
to keep everything stable and harmonious. Let me deny my needs,
what I want, my perspective in order to just not
rock the boat, and that won't fly. So what we
are coming into as a collective is this ability to
assert ourselves, to speak our voice, but also consider the other.

(09:01):
What is someone else's perspective, what do they need, what
are they bringing to the table, and how can we
both be heard and seen and find the ideal way forward,
the middle way. To me, the best Libra ares statement

(09:24):
there is is stand up for yourself and not against
the other person. And that has been one of those cornerstones.
My friend Gwenn told me that I don't know ten
years ago, and it's like, yep, stand up for yourself,
not against the other person, which means speak your truth,
speak your mind, but come from a place of honesty
and valor and integrity, not fighting against or I'll show

(09:46):
you or in the sake of you know, we're not
doing it for conflict. So really finding your voice in
this energy, Where can you feel seen, recognized and supporting
in your relationship. So I would take a little bit
of time to sit down and write out two or
three relationships, whether it's one to one personal relationships or

(10:09):
your relationship with work, or your health, whatever it may be.
Write down two or three relationships in your life that
you're like, this is amazing, this feels good, this relationship
is mature, this relationship is healthy. Wow, I feel seen
and I genuinely love and support the other person or
the other party. And then on the flip side of that,

(10:30):
write down two or three relationships in your life that
are a freaking hot mess. You know that just it's like, Oh,
I've got to pick up the phone, or oh I
have to do that today, you know, whether it's your
health and go into the gym, or eating something healthy, no,
let me just snack again, whatever the relationships. Write down
the relationships that cause you grief, that cause you disease.

(10:51):
Because what you get to look at here is polarity,
and the deepest cornerstone of Libra is about polarity. Right now,
We've got so much polarity in the world that this
is a massive opportunity for us on an individual level
and in our relationships to impact the world and the

(11:13):
collective on a greater frequency. So, with your little checklist
of the ideal or the healthy and the unhealthy and
the frustrating relationships, look at your part, what do I
bring to this relationship on the healthy side of things,
What do I bring to this relationship? What do I
appreciate and receive in this relationship? And then when you

(11:34):
look at the shadow frustrating what relationships? You know, what
is this taking from me? This relationship? What is this
depleting me of? And also how am I not using
my voice in a healthy way and asserting myself in
this relationship? How am I stuck? Usually it has to

(11:55):
do with kind of being stuck or complacent, which is
totally Libra like okay, decisive, I'll just stay with it.
And the best example I have, let's say, if you're
it's in a relationship with a job or work. So
often and I can raise my hand for this, we're
in a job or in a profession or in a role,
and you know, we come home and we're like, oh gosh,

(12:17):
work was hard again today, or so and so did
this today, or yes, you know, and we either just
feel that way in our body and have that rhetoric
going on with ourselves, or we come home to our
spouse or or whomever and it's like we're broken record.
Yeah they did this again today. H work was so ugh?
This happened? You know. It seems to go on and

(12:38):
on and on. I've been there. It's been a while,
but I've been there, and usually it's like I am
stuck in a broken record of not taking action, not
asserting myself. And what I always share with people is
freaking rewrite your resume, you know, like you don't have
to go look for another job yet or know which

(12:59):
job you want, but just sit down and rewrite the
darn resume. And I don't know about you, but I
don't like to rewrite my resume. I can help somebody
rewrite their resume, no problem. I can knock it out,
we can edit it, you know. I can share with
them and see what they're good at or remember things
that maybe they've done, you know, and I can help

(13:20):
somebody edit it. Like it's nobody's business. But when it
comes to rewriting my own resume, it's like, h oh no,
I'll do it later. I'll do it another day. But
the funny thing is when you sit down to update
your resume and you take the time, you're like, WHOA,
I did that. Wow, I have experience in this and
the other thing that comes with rewriting a resume, and

(13:41):
this is always like a one oh one. Thing that
I suggest to people is pick up the phone and
call some people you work with or who know you well,
and say, Hey, I'm updating my resume. You know I've
put these things on it, but what are some qualities
in me that you think are outstanding? You know? Or
where do you think I have a little bit of
work to do? And that in and of itself, you

(14:02):
have to ask for help. You get input from people,
and you see things about yourself, hopefully more positive, that
you couldn't see alone, that you needed another person to
support you in. So the rewriting of the resume is
the vibe for this eclipse. Wherever you are stuck in

(14:26):
your relationships, whatever relationship that may be, how can you
rewrite your resume? Meaning how can you stand back and
look at your history, take account and take stock of
your side of the street. Look at the beautiful attributes
you bring, and look at where you are a Tasmanian devil,

(14:46):
because we all I know how I give be a
Tasmanian devil, and I'm better today than I ever have been.
But I know how that rolls. And let me give
you some food for thought on this. We had a
lead braa new moon eclipse in October of twenty twenty three.
So if you want to do a little research, I

(15:08):
would encourage you sit down and you think back to
last October and what transpired between October and March ish,
what was going on in the relationships for you at
that time, Where were you growing, what were you learning,
where were you struggling, where were things going well, whatever

(15:28):
your assessment is, I would encourage you to revisit that timeframe.
And the wonderful thing about revisiting and revising things to
me is I have to sit down and I have
to like literally pull out my calendar. Sometimes it helps
on a cognitive level, but it also helps on an

(15:48):
energetic and a cellular level. So going back and revisiting
last October to March and looking at your relationships what changed,
what was frustrating. You can collect a lot of data
which will give you better and more clarified and involved
perspective today. And I have to tell y'all, I've already
done this, and it was like I was looking at

(16:10):
my calendar and I was looking at the shifts, changes
and growth, and it was significant. There was a lot
of growth and shifts going on, and shifts in perspective
and maturity maturity. And the funny thing about that is
from you know, February of March twenty twenty four until now,

(16:31):
I'm like, dang, I've grown even more. Wow, I'm even
more mature and clarified. So the stuff that I was
having to practice with myself and in my relationships like
from October to March of last year, now it's more innate.
I feel more empowered in places, and mature and clear
in my voice, clear in my yes and my no.

(16:53):
Am I always great at this? Heck no? But there's
a lot of growth. So I encourage you all to
do some con templation and some retrospective thoughts during this eclipse.
A couple of things that are really important to take
note of. Pluto is stationing to turn direct and Pluto
turns direct on October eleventh at twenty nine degrees of Capricorn. Additionally,

(17:19):
on October thirteenth, Jupiter station's retrograde. So Jupiter is stationing
to start moving backwards from our perspective in the sky,
and Pluto is stationing to start moving direct from our
perspective in the sky. Why is that significant. You've got
two big power players that move slow on bigger ellipticals

(17:44):
and orbits during this eclipse season and during this time
standing still in the sky Pluto death rebirth transformation. It's
at the twenty ninth degree of Capricorn. Which is all
about power struggles. And if you don't think that that
applies to relationships, I don't know what does. But that's

(18:04):
been a massive theme energetically. It's power struggles. So look
at yourself and where you experience power struggles? Is it
within yourself? A lot of mind is internal power struggles.
I mean that I fight with myself more than I
fight with other people, because I'm a libra, I'm a lover,
So on the outside I'm like great, and then on

(18:24):
the inside I'm having like a whole you know, like
boxing match or what relationships in your life. Are the
power dynamics imbalanced and off? Are you the victim? Are
you the perpetrator? So Pluto standing still in the side
at twenty nine degrees of Capricorn is really illuminating, kind
of a push and pull and a power struggle energy

(18:47):
and the Libra new moon eclipse gives you the opportunity
to gather the facts, look at both sides of things
and figure out the most diplomatic discerning way forward. With
Jupiter slowing and standing still, which is at about twenty
one degrees of Gemini, a sister sign of Libra, another

(19:07):
air sign, it's like sending positive energy flow into the eclipse.
Jupiter expands things, so Jupiter can expand our conscious thinking
here and our ability to communicate. Now, can Jupiter exacerbate
things absolutely? Whatever Jupiter touches, it expands, so it can

(19:27):
also blow things out of proportion. Share too much, talk
too much, but utilize Jupiter's juju to help you clearly
communicate what it is that you want to heal and
shift and see in your relationships over the course of

(19:49):
the next six months. Some attributes of Libra just to
think about. Some attributes of Libra, just to think about
Libra is about harmony, it is about relationship. It's also
about honesty. And with Libra there's this element of honesty

(20:13):
and dishonesty. So the honesty comes from getting very clear
and honest with yourself, so you can be honest with
other people. You're insides matching your outsides. And I remember
for me, and I'm not sure if I've ever shared
this before. Gosh, years ago, I had a coworker say

(20:35):
to me and she was just exceptional. She oversaw the
bereavement department when I was in hospice, and she was
just an expert in grief and bereavement and I'm just
a badass lady. Her name is Marty, and I remember
her sitting in my office one day and I was
really kicking off my healing journey. I had just gotten sober,
and you know, it was like the light bulb was

(20:56):
starting to turn on and I was really honestly for
the first time in my life life, looking at my
side of the street and being honest about who I was,
the gnarly and the beautiful alike, and it was it
was so empowering. And she said to me, she said,
you know, Amanda, a lot of times what happens with that,
you know, when we were talking about addiction and alcoholism

(21:18):
and just healing, our healing journey, and she says, you
know what happens, most people's insides don't match their outsides.
And I remember just looking at her and I said,
you just told my whole story. You know. It was
like one of those moments where she's I had never
heard that before. My insides don't match my outsides, And

(21:39):
I said, you just told the story of my entire life.
And it was like, from a young age, you know,
whatever I was feeling on the inside didn't always match
what was going on externally. Or if I looked nice
or if everything was put together in a nice package
on the outside, then I was fine on the inside,

(22:00):
you know, and all these discrepancies of dichotomy or living
a double life or behaving in two different ways. And
when she said, you know, your insides didn't match your outsides,
and I'm like, and today my insides are starting to
match my outsides. So that's the other thing, when we're

(22:21):
talking about honesty and dishonesty, where your key moment of
empowerment is in this eclipse of rebalancing things, is getting
honest internally about what you need, your side of the street,
your role, and where you have authority, sovereignty and empowerment.

(22:42):
Get honest about that, and the action, the clear, healthy,
balanced action will start to come to you intuitively. So
this is not so much an eclipse of external practical
outward action as it is is really getting quiet, taking notes, journaling,

(23:04):
putting some puzzle pieces together so you can figure out
where the best bang for your buck is in creating
balance and harmony internally and externally in your life. And
if you think about it, we're in an eight year
in numerology, and a huge frequency that correlates with the

(23:24):
eight is balance and flow. So use that energy of
what feels imbalanced and what is my role? And am
I ready to heal it? Am I ready to be
honest first and foremost with myself, then with your soul,
your higher power, and then ask the universe, ask your

(23:46):
soul to reveal to you the next steps forward in
the days, weeks, months ahead, So spend some time journaling,
and like I was saying, wait until the clips you know,
kind of reaches its exact point in the afternoon of
October second, and then on the night of October second,

(24:10):
do some journaling, Light a candle, put your crystals out,
you know, like there's a new Moon ceremony on my
website and a new Moon blog that has some good cornerstones.
We linked those in the show notes. So grab a
new Moon ceremony and make it your own. Do a
little ceremony. It's an eclipse for goodness sakes. Use that
energy to set some intentions for yourself around creating balance

(24:36):
and harmony over the course of the next few months,
and so you can be clearly shown what your role is,
where your sovereignty is, and the action you need to
take in the most harmonious way. In closing, one thing
that I want to share about Libra energy that is

(24:58):
more clear to me today and it's ever been. Libra
truly is about beauty, romance and poetry. And for the
longest time I didn't understand that. And I mean, it
sounds so bizarre for me to say, Hey, I'm a
Libra sun and moon, you know, and I have Libra
and other planetary placements, but I'm like, Libra is about

(25:21):
beauty and poetry and romance. What do you mean? I mean,
it's ruled by Venus for goodness sakes, but today I
get it whenever I see beauty in life, whether it's
in a beautiful sunset or sunrise, or for me having

(25:42):
fresh flowers in the house and doing the fresh flowers,
or esthetics, having things organized and looking pretty, or you know,
cleaning my makeup brush is doing my makeup. However beauty
shows up, I have learned to recognize how soothing it
is for my ner system. Like I didn't make this correlation,

(26:03):
but when I see beauty or create beauty in life,
it does something to my central nervous system and creates
peace because ultimately, when you're talking about balance, harmony, and flow,
you're talking about peace and a peace that passes all understanding,
the still waters that run deep. And for me, because

(26:26):
libra is an air sign, it does resonate with our
nervous system anxiety, disease, agitation, frustration, so I know when
I am feeling irritable or agitated or anxious. Apart from
breath work and some of my practices, the cultivation of
or the recognition of beauty in my life in a

(26:50):
superficial way or in a sunset in nature that helps
reentrain my body and creates and it's funny. On my desk,
I have all these colored pencils and they're in a
clear jar, and it's like a bouquet of colored pencils,
which makes me think of you've got mail. There's nothing

(27:12):
like a fresh, a fresh bouquet of sharpened pencils. I mean,
if you know you've got mail, you totally know that.
But basically, I have every color under the rainbow, and
they're in this beautiful clear glass and they're colored pencils,
and I pick them up and I use them and
I color oftentimes when I'm sitting at my desk to
just soothe my energy feel but also looking at all

(27:32):
these colored pencils in here, it's the most delightful thing
you've seen. And when I look down, I smile. So
figure out ways during this new moon eclipse and the
remainder of Libras season, figure out ways to cultivate beauty.
What does beauty look like to you? And how do
you appreciate it? How do you recognize beauty in your life?
