Hi! I'm Jim Jacob, a South Carolina based creator. I started as a podcaster by accident. Our first real episodes on the internet were me trying to find a solution to help tell my sons stories as I was traveling for work. Hello, friends, Welcome to s Biology Squad. We are a
team of spies who specialize in science. You see doctor
Stinky breath in The Purple Ninjas are trying to take
over the world through science, and it is up to
us to stop them before it is too late.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Last time, Ons Biology Squad, we've learned that Yes, there's
a lot.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
Of houses that have lost power.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
And oh dear, I think the Purple Ninjas have just
broken into HQ.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
This has never happened before.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
I'm not sure what's gonna happen next, but I hope
Ava and Jaden.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
Are able to figure it out.
Speaker 4 (00:45):
Let's see what happens next. From the back room of HQ.
Ava and Jaden can hear the Purple Ninjas talking tea steep?
Speaker 3 (00:56):
Put that down. You don't mean that, but look good.
It's so cool. I wandered in my bedroom.
Speaker 5 (01:04):
Come man, we are here for jetbacks and secrets. They focused.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Jaden, did you hear that?
Speaker 3 (01:13):
Yes? I did.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
All right, let's open up the back door and try
to scare them out of it.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
I'll go open the door, Ava.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Can you scare them? Of course I can, said Ava.
Ava walked carefully over towards the back room. As Jaden
prepared to open up the main door to scare them
out of it, Ava jumped out.
Speaker 6 (01:34):
Get out of here, Purple n Joseph else, we're gonna attack. Run,
And just like that, the Purple n just started running
as fast as they could.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
The plan worked perfectly as they raced right out the door,
and they even tripped into the mud.
Speaker 5 (01:51):
Eh splat ow, Oh get up, Come on, guys, we're
gonna get.
Speaker 7 (01:56):
Out of here.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
You know, we go to get back to the bluep
and hide those betteries.
Speaker 5 (02:00):
Sh don't say that out.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
There, Ava, I'm gonna follow them and see where they
are hiding those batteries. Okay, said Ava. I'll stay here
at HQ and make sure they don't come back. Looks
like the sun is starting to come up, so hopefully
you won't lose them. Just then, as Jaden took off running,
chasing the Purple Ninjas into the forest, mister Jim walked

into the.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
Door at HQ. Hey, where is everybody? I have snacks?
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Shouted mister Jim. Hey, mister Jim said Ava, I'm out back.
You won't believe this, but the Purple Ninjas just broke
in through the fence and he scared them away. Jaden
is following them. Wait all that happened while I was gone,
shouted mister Jim. Oh dear, Uh, probably shouldn't have left
(02:50):
you guys to get snacks. Oh it's all good, we
had it covered, said Ava. You know how Jaden can
get when he doesn't get his snacks. Yeah, I'm kinda
like in that way, said mister Jim. All right, Uh, Ava,
can you help me try and figure out why these
solar panels aren't working? Sure thing, said Ava. We take
a look at them outside. I think the sun is
(03:13):
just coming up. Let's go take a look. As Jaden
was carefully following behind the blimp, he was running through
the forest as fast as he could to keep up.
I wish I would have grabbed my jet back before
I left. Those purple nitches are fast and oh, he
(03:33):
looks like the blimp stopping. Jaden rushed behind some bushes
to hide to make sure that he wasn't seen a second.
Looks like I'm back in doctor Sinky Breath's backyard. The
blimp was now hovering above and slowly lowering very large
crates Wooden crates down with some rope. There were some
(03:55):
purple ninjas on the ground trying to cover up the
crates with sticks and leaves, but.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
It didn't look like it was going very well.
Speaker 5 (04:03):
Ah, somebody helped me with these leaves.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
You want me to giant turn off the wind?
Speaker 5 (04:10):
Don't be ridiculous, get away here.
Speaker 7 (04:13):
Okay, sorry, it just made the wind keeps blowing the
leaves off. You think this is working very well?
Speaker 3 (04:20):
Well, do you have a better idea?
Speaker 4 (04:24):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (04:24):
Maybe we could put the blankets over it. It'll probably
be better at the wind.
Speaker 5 (04:30):
Yeah, like that would be good camouflages from smiling, he's
got yeah, perfectly awesome. I damn, we just cover it
with some purple blankets and no, now it makes me
leaves and sticks to the camouflages and just let me
do the thinking.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
Jaden overheard everything, grabbed his walkie talkie to call into HQ. S. Hey, guys,
I found where they're hiding all the batteries. Sh you did,
said ava where s Well, it probably won't be that surprise,
but it's in doctor Sinkybreath's backyard. Sh You're right, I'm
(05:05):
not surprised. They're not very original.
Speaker 8 (05:09):
Sh.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
Have you guys been able to figure out what's going
on with the solar panels and why are they aren't working?
Speaker 3 (05:14):
Sh not yet, but I.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
Think we're getting close. Just keep an eye on those
batteries and we'll keep you updated. Over and out. Sh
Up in the blimp, Doctor Sinky breath was ready to
try breaking into HQ again. So you mean to tell me,
is it you broke into HQ and got nothing anywhere?
Speaker 5 (05:37):
Insigne and scared us off. We didn't want to get
stuck in there.
Speaker 9 (05:44):
That gives me good idea tonight, Let's make sure the
spies are all inside and locks of doors from the outside.
With all the power off, they won't be able to
open the doors or call out for any help.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
Uh.
Speaker 9 (06:03):
Is that we'll get through those Biology squad Vudson for all.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Back at HQ, mister Jim and Eva were getting very
close to figuring out why the solar panels weren't working.
This is so frustrating, said mister Jim. We've checked everything,
all the wires and connection everything looks good. Solar panels
are sitting in the sunlight collecting it, but why aren't
(06:32):
they creating any electricity? Wait a second, said Ava. She
leaned down to take a closer look. Have you noticed
this cloudy film on the glass panels. Wait what do
you see, asked mister Jim.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
Look at this.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
There's this weird looking film like dirtiness on the glass.
I wonder if it's blocking the sunlight from reaching their
solar cells. Let me try and clean it off. She
grabbed rag out of her pocket and immediately as soon
as she cleaned off that dirty film, the electricity turned
(07:09):
back on.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
Hold on, Ava, wait a second, how that happens so fast?
How did you do that?
Speaker 2 (07:16):
You mean it was just dirty, shouted mister Jim. No,
this doesn't look like your ordinary dirt, she said. It
looks like it was specially designed to block all sunlight
from reaching the cells.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
No way, said mister Jim. That's insane. You're totally right.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
Yeah, that film was making the sunlight reflect away before
the cells were able to convert the sunlight into electricity.
But how in the world are we going to clean
all these solar panels and keep them clean in the
future from doctor sinking brother doing the same thing. Hey,
do you want me to program some drones to fly around?
Speaker 3 (07:55):
Said Ava.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
You know they could fly around all the houses and
I can have the drones automatic clean the solar panels.
I love it, said mister Jim. Then we need to
help Jaden get all those batteries back to where they
need to be. Later that night, the Purple Ninjas were
sneaking around.
Speaker 5 (08:12):
If hq okay, guys just need to put all these
locks on the doors and then they won't be able
to get out.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
All of a sudden, the lights, the super bright motion
lights flashed on.
Speaker 5 (08:26):
Ah one in the world.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
I can't anything.
Speaker 5 (08:29):
My eyes are linen.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
How are those lights on?
Speaker 5 (08:32):
I thought they didn't have any electricity.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
Let's get out of.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
Hair as the Purple Ninja just ran off. S Biology
squad has one again. Woo, great job Ava, Jaden and
mister Jim. They went on to program all the drones
to automatically clean all the solar panels from that nasty, sticky,
dirty film. Yes, the Purple Ninjas had sprayed all the
(09:00):
solar panels which block the sunlight from reaching the cells.
And so now that we're able to keep them clean,
the electricity will turn on for everybody. Oh yeah, and
Jaden was able to return all those batteries back to
the homes with the help of Ava and mister Jim.
Great jobs, Biology Squad. It's time for Spiology Squad shout outs.

The Burden

Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary.
