this and then you know, of course the smile just
brings up a whole room. Look at her lap she can't.
But seriously, I'm excited about this interview. We have philanthropists
or your manager, mom, wife, Did I miss anything?

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Pharma?

Speaker 1 (01:00):
That's what we are. Entrepreneur newly life coach. We just
got we ain't We have the incomparable, incomparable drinking gates
on the show. We appreciate you for having us drinking
when I tell you like and I just mentioned this

(01:20):
a minute ago, your energy is so great, man, got it?
You got a good you got a good spirit. And
from being in this music business for thirty years, I've
developed the skill and picking up on dermonica as energy
because it's a lot of demonic energy, and not just

(01:42):
in the music business, but in this world period. So
when when I meet people like you that are genuine
and just have an easy going spirit and great energy,
I just be like, Okay, yeah, there's still some left
on this planet.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
Yes, likewise, it's still some left.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
So I appreciate you. Thank you for having us. Thank
you because me and we talked about this and we
feel so privileged.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
Likewise, like I really am honored to be here with
you guys today.

Speaker 5 (02:14):
Thank you, and just to see you so prevalent, you know,
in these interviews and speaking because you know, we before
it was like you were busy working, but see you know,
to hear you talk and express and then confirm that
you really are this person that not that we assumed it,
but you really are to come out. So thank you
for even sharing your story with people like that. And

(02:35):
the best part for me is that i'm him too.
We were talking about daughters and you're a daddy's girl,
so me having ord daughters, I'm looking at like taking.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Notes like okay, here, check check, you know the things
to do. So definitely thank you again for joining me
and Jerry.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Yeah, thank you. And when I when I saw you
the first time outside, what was that about a couple
of weeks ago, and we was talking about you coming
on the show, and I said, I want to talk
to somebody. I said, you know, I was talking somebody's
been amused me. And she said, I've been to music
for seventeen weeks. So lean into that. Lean into that.

(03:12):
I have a lot of respect for Kurt and Rashida
Frost because I saw them as a couple when I
saw Kurt as Rashida's manager back in her music career
and all know. Yeah, So one thing I always noticed is,
of course Rashida like yourself, very attractive, great energy. A
lot of these dudes at radio stations always trying to holler.

(03:35):
And I noticed Kurt was just real, real cool about it,
like not that even people even knew a lot of times.
And that's what I told him. I was like, man,
how do you He was like, hey, man, it's you know,
it's cool like and Rashida was like she was cool.
She wanted Furst and back, but she was cool. How
has it been with you managing your husband? Has you
have you had a lot of that type where niggas

(03:57):
is trying to holler. He looking like all right now,
y'all might not know that's my wife, Like how how
does Kevin how does he deal with that? And I
know that there's been a lot.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
Of yeah, I mean, yes, it has been, but a
lot of people, believe it or not, they don't really
play when it comes because they know Kevin. It's like,
you know what I'm saying, they know what it is,
so they don't even really approached me like that. But
people most definitely like it's happened, and then they.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Early on Yeah, I mean, because did people automatically know
early on that she was his manager?

Speaker 4 (04:29):
No, that we were like sistern brother because we were
just always just super cool and taking care of business,
you know.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
But as soon as they did find out this is what. Yeah,
but what.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
I saw, That's what I'm asking. Before folks knew, I
think it was. Was it a lot of that way
He'd be at y'all at a radio station program director
like now, we'll be over here with your managers. She's flying,
he looking like now, So I know it was a

(05:05):
lot of that how to do How did you all?
How did you all navigate through that?

Speaker 4 (05:11):
I mean, it wasn't really like at the end of
the day, we both knew what we had, we had
each other, we knew what it was you know what
I'm saying, and that's to be expected, especially like in
this industry. You know what I'm saying. And at the
end of the day, I say this all the time.
But we're like best friends. We started off as friends,
like we're like this, So regardless of you know what
I'm saying, what happens like that's always what it's going

(05:31):
to be.

Speaker 5 (05:32):
Yeah, So yeah, I heard it was at a baseball
game and he was in front of you, and you just.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
Was persistent and you just.

Speaker 5 (05:40):
You know, he was looking at him and you had
your eye on him like he was just an innocent bastards.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
His story, that's his story.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
I tell you her story.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
And this was back in high school.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
Back in high school.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
It was at my my brother's football game actually, and
we were both leaving from the the game.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
He was walking in front of me.

Speaker 4 (06:05):
I'm walking behind him, and he said that I was
looking at him, and I'm like, well, of course I
was looking at you.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Drinking. You was choosing you chose, Come on now. Always
told me the women do the choosing. We can know
at the end of the day, the woman is going
to do the choose no matter what a man when
the woman is going to do the choosing.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
But he had to keep turning back around to even
know that I was looking at him if I was
looking at him.

Speaker 5 (06:32):
Okay, so he chose yeah, and this turned into it
with a three hour conversation literally right yeah, okay, okay, okay,
you know you know, and when women choose, they choose.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
Oh hell yeah, I know what I want.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
And not as switching back to the music as a
young manager drinker, because I know from wearing many hats
in his music game. Yes, warn every hat you can
pretty much, yep, name I warned you. Looking look back
on it early on where there's some decisions you made
in the negotiation process of whether it was contractual with

(07:13):
you know, deals, or whether there's shows where you look
back and be like, oh, I left money on the
table just because it was a point of you not
being experienced. What one situation do you look back and
be like, not kick yourself, be like, damn, I left
I left money on the table, like husband, I left them.
We should have I should have negotiated this a little better.

Speaker 4 (07:32):
Yeah, I mean, I'm pretty I can't think of like
an instant like right like right now, I mean, but
I'm sure I.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
Have fucking left money on the table.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
But even in the beginning, so like when we first
started out touring, I was like, fuck, going to pick
up the bag, like we need to get into these
hard ticket venues. So that was an instance where I
did make a decision to leave a bunch of money
on the table and decided to take the route of
building something that was organic and that was gonna last,

(08:03):
you know what I'm saying. So in that sense, yes,
we did leave a lot of money on the table,
but that shit paid off because now he's selling out arenas.
He's been selling out arenas for years now without anything
being on the radio, you know what I'm saying. So
to me, it was fucking worth it, because I'm not
all about hitting a lick or getting like a quick fix.
I'm like, I'm trying to build something for like long term,

(08:26):
like i want longevity.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
So and I know you had to take the lumps
because this industry it'll chew you up and spit you out.
And you coming in as a female manager, yeah and
this you know, this is your mate, your spouse and
you know, I know as a season vet, it's been
times where you know, drinking this shit challenging, man.

Speaker 4 (08:47):
Oh, it's beyond challenging. And the I mean even in
the beginning, like people didn't respect me.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
As that that's what I was about to get to. Yeah,
they didn't repect it was this pretty girl.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
They did this his lady back in one instant.

Speaker 5 (08:59):
Somebody had to kind of take that position for you,
and they end up coming back to you.

Speaker 4 (09:03):
Anyway, Exactly when we went to the label, I want
to say this was like back in twenty ten, we
went through APG with Atlantic, Yeah, and they were like.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
Drinka, you should consider getting Kevin a manager.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
And I'm like, the fam that's respectful, man, but.

Speaker 4 (09:23):
You know, I'm I'm here, I'm playing the game. I'm
playing the game, you know. So I was like, okay,
and so I hired a male figure to play that.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
Role, you know.

Speaker 4 (09:36):
And so that's how it happened. But eventually it got
to the point to where they were always telling them, oh,
I need to go ask Drika. Let me ask Drika.
Oh I'm waiting to hear back from Drinka. And then
they finally realized, Okay, she's still like calling the shot,
she's still making the decisions, you know.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Not just the wife or the girlfriend exactly.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Something else. We have Drinka gaysas storytime with legendary Jerry
how women in this busines And it's the challenges that
you all face, Yeah, because that's that's just blaking disrespect,
like the fact that you had to go out and
hire a male figure. Yes, as the front is the face, yep.
And you still was calling the shot.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
Still was calling the shots.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
But I did get my flowers one time on this
video set.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
This guy the I don't remember who the who the
director was, but he was like I was. I went
to the video shoot and he was like, you're drinker.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
He was like, man, he was like I had this
image of like this queen sitting up in this castle,
like calling all the shots, and he was right. And
I was like, damn he was again because he was
dealing with the person that I had in place, and
this person's telling him.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
I got yeah, I gotta call Drinka, you know.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
So it felt good because he was like, it's fine,
it's nice to finally meet you, you know, the person
behind the persons literally and you.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
Still calling all the motherfucking.

Speaker 5 (10:59):
Shots literally, yes, And like Jerry's talking about navigating and
as a woman. How do you personally can tell through
interaction to somebody's genuine because you know people have.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Motives and can you tell that again.

Speaker 5 (11:12):
The demonic and people don't have agenda like, oh, I
know if I talked to drink, you know, it's all
these How.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Do you personally can tell with genuine people?

Speaker 3 (11:22):
For me, I'm an energetic, so I pick up on
energy real quick. I can come in.

Speaker 4 (11:28):
Don't you don't even have to say anything to me.
It's better if you don't speak, because I'm not even listening.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
To what you're saying.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
I'm going off the energy that I'm getting from you.

Speaker 3 (11:37):
You know what I'm saying. And then.

Speaker 4 (11:40):
On the flip side of that, like what's for me
literally like falls in my left or a man so I.

Speaker 1 (11:47):
Don't know said. All I got to do is look
at it. Man, it's that's I don't even look at it.

Speaker 3 (11:53):
Exactly, so I know what's what was?

Speaker 1 (11:56):
It goes back to what we said when we first
started the interview, and we set out like when I
met her, even her coming in this room us joking.
Her energy is so good. So if there's any kind
of negativity or demonic ship, I can I can tell
that you can peep that ship real quick. Keep this
mother fuck away from me because it ain't right. And
this business new face, We all three of us know
it's full.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
Of full of that.

Speaker 1 (12:18):
Speaking of this industry, though, what is your take right now?
What the whole state of this urban music? What you
take on the state of urban music dream.

Speaker 3 (12:30):
I've been going back and making playlists of oldies or.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
Total one twelve all.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
That, Yes, Son to get into.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
I mean, you kind of answered the question, but I
still want to hear what.

Speaker 6 (12:50):
You know what I'm saying, because yeah, Kevin does work
with newer artists, so you have to kind of adapt
to some It's correct in.

Speaker 4 (13:01):
A sense, but I mean, I'm I'm no longer managing
his career.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
But that's just him, quote unquote.

Speaker 4 (13:07):
I don't even like the terms fucking staying relevant because
he's relevant regardless, you know what I'm saying. But he's
just you know, interacting with the younger audience, you know.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
But it's different, always used, different and interesting, different and interesting.
So I take it at the and I hate to
call it this, but the pussy rap you're not a
big fan of hold on.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
I can't say that though, because I do have my
little moments.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
Speaking of the new artist, the new young ladies out there.
Who who you? Who you funk with? Heavy? Who you
funk with? Period? A lot of.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
Yes, Lotto headline, birthday bash.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
And then rocking with what other females?

Speaker 4 (14:03):
Always Nikki, I like, she's all she's been talking ship and.

Speaker 1 (14:09):
I love her, y'all is hard she is and got
her her word place.

Speaker 3 (14:14):
That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
And I've been listening to her for like years now,
like I work out listening to her.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
Damn hell yeah, he was up on her like now
she's starting and it's good that is starting to get
that claim.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
Exactly because she.

Speaker 4 (14:28):
Yeah, because she's been That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
Like the course Nikki and those those your three female
go to.

Speaker 4 (14:37):
Right now and then I do. Of course, who doesn't
listen to sexy?

Speaker 7 (14:42):
Sorry concert said hold on, but I know what y'all
mean though, but I don't subscribe to that, but I
listened to it, especially when you know.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
You're just having fun.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
Is it something as woman especially you know again, not
to wear out this good energy thing because you have it,
like you're a how does that like look? And you
know I usually I'm not one that de min's my words,
but you know, with the you know, the state of
the rap game, you know, it's always, like I said,
I've been in the game thirty years, so I've seen

(15:20):
the cams, the Foxy brownsas the Lawrence, the Missy's, the brats.
Do you look at it now, the female rap game
and wish that there was more balance balance?

Speaker 4 (15:37):
Yeah, because everybody is kind of like on the same
wavelength right now. Yeah, exactly, like they're all on the
same same wavelengths. So it would be nice to have that.
I'm not gonna lie, but you know, it's it's kind.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
Of like, it is what it is. I always like.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
Lately, I've been thinking to myself, I'm like, damn, I'm
like one of those old people that's like, oh you
know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
I'm like, never drink. They always call us how them
old folks hate? They just hate.

Speaker 4 (16:10):
It's like no, but music was it was.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
It was real different back then.

Speaker 5 (16:16):
And yeah, speaking of the women in the game and
you being a woman manager, this is brought up in
the conversation I had with a couple of friends before too,
is do you think it's important and essential that a
female artist have a female manager.

Speaker 3 (16:31):
Hmm.

Speaker 4 (16:32):
I mean for me, it really depends on the relationship.
Like she may have a male figure that you know
what I'm saying, that that they work well together. It
can come off looking a little you know, I'm not
gonna say the word, but.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
You know, yeah, I don't.

Speaker 4 (16:49):
Want to get into that because it can't come off
as that. But it really just depends on the people,
you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (16:56):
Exactly.

Speaker 4 (16:56):
That's just like with with my husband, with Kevin, him
having a quote unquote female manager me. You know what
I'm saying, that looked like, you know, if people didn't
like it, but it's like that ship worked.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
It's not nepotism or you know, y'all not related, but exactly.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
Just got to attribute a lot of his success to
having you, you know, because one thing that Pillow talk
is strong as a mother. Ain't nothing stronger than pillot
when you're doing business and you be able, you know,
that balance of all right personal especially start the family
and being the business like all right now and then

(17:35):
it's it's very good in a way because you know,
you ain't gonna let no funk sh happen to your household?
Hell nothing, We're gonna get this, like, I'm gonna put
my husband, my spouse in a position to do the
best that he can. And those are some of the
a lot of the pros to it. The cons is,
if y'all ever felt I got a divorce and ship,
I mean yeah because me you know, without name, we've

(18:00):
seen artists in this business who there significant other as
their manager and it turned out to be real messy.

Speaker 4 (18:08):
Yeah yeah, but I'm not even if it were. I'm
not even that person.

Speaker 5 (18:13):
Yeah, I mean, And there was even a point where
I don't know what was going on, but there was
a separation where you guys, but it looked beautiful. You
focused on what you were doing, the music and the
business was still going on. Everybody was thriving, The kids
were happy, and I applauded that because it was like
people always again, people are looking for the negative, like
they're looking for the thing and oh probably.

Speaker 1 (18:34):
Tagging you and stuff.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
On there.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
A look at this.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
With my family, kids.

Speaker 4 (18:49):
Real talk, really just working on myself, and and that's
just what it was.

Speaker 5 (18:55):
So yeah, and our children, we have the young children,
and they look at that that's the day about that,
And that's where I look at because they are looking
at us because we talked about other things, like so
my mother would talk about my father, So I knew
not to do that to my kids, no matter how
bad their mother.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
Daughter's mother.

Speaker 3 (19:13):
We don't do that.

Speaker 1 (19:14):
You don't do that.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
So I had to change that. And I'm sure you
had to do that.

Speaker 3 (19:17):
The same thing.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
And that's when y'all did it.

Speaker 5 (19:19):
You proved it exactly because I know we I mean,
it's personal relationships. Sometimes we just don't fuck with these
our mate exactly, but we don't have to be.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
Out explain any relationship, is exactly. It's like an elevator
up and down, up and up and down.

Speaker 5 (19:33):
Is there a decision that you made as a manager
that probably he felt one way and then you were
actually right or vice versa.

Speaker 4 (19:44):
I'm pretty sure the thing is people don't probably don't
feel this way. But he has been very supportive of me,
damn near just like taking the reins like good, you
know what I'm saying, Like very just like trusting me,
trusting every decision I made, super supportive. So yeah, there
wasn't really any of that, you know what I'm saying, yeah, h.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
H, I've been waiting to ask, and I know a
lot of Like I told you earlier, my son goes
to Zula down in New Orleans, and I know a
lot of folks from Louisiana. I love the culture down there. Yes,

(20:32):
but I want to ask you this question because your
music head. I can I can tell I know you are.
Who's gonna win in the verses cash money versus no limit?
And we're talking about cash money before the new.

Speaker 8 (20:46):
Before Yeah, okay, no cash money, no no, this is
Louisiana's all.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
This is, this is Louisiana's child. No cash money versus
no limit in the verses, Who's gonna win? Drink man, drinker?
Who go win this story? This story?

Speaker 3 (21:06):
Lee pre Y c m B.

Speaker 5 (21:10):
No limit Okay, okay, and you were young, Yes, I
was no limit so.

Speaker 1 (21:23):
Mystical I'm telling me was talking to Mercedes. Hey, you
remember the album cover rear In Got was our first up.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
Seeing some ship like.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
So before I am c m B say, no limit
is gonna be cash money in the verses? Okay? What what?

Speaker 3 (21:47):
What's what's your take on that?

Speaker 1 (21:49):
I'm trying to flip it on. Look, I'll just say
this and this. I'm a fan of both. I am
as well a huge fan of both. And I look
at Master P and the things from an entrepreneur standpoint,
that really being here in the South, that Luther Campbell

(22:10):
to Tony Draper to Stanna bird Man and his brother
and P. I mean, the things that they did from
an entrepreneur's standpoint really set us up in the entrepreneur mindset.
And Louisiana, I got to give y'all y'all props. Y'all really, yeah,
we laid the group. I mean, we did the blueprint.

(22:31):
But y'all did y'all think away from y'all did because
if you look at between those two camps and Baton rouge, y'all.

Speaker 3 (22:45):
We really really really we did that. And let me
tell you something.

Speaker 4 (22:49):
So when I was first getting started out, that's who
I look to, like to check out their blueprint and
how they did it.

Speaker 1 (22:57):
Pe and wow.

Speaker 4 (22:59):
But because I mean, what they did, like you said,
it was amazing, Like and I'm gonna say this again,
they really like they And.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
Then if you look at it with Louisiana, like me
and my son was just joking about this, like Metro
Atlanta has more people than the whole state of Louisiana.
So if you look at that per square capital and
the talent that came came out between New Orleans and
Bad Rude tried to put a little baby rouge. That's

(23:38):
a lot of talent, it really is. And you came
up and writing Bad Ruge at the backyard of Southern
University l s u Yeuh, Webb Boosy. Out of all
that talent that came out of band rules, you watched
a lot of people blow up. Was there one artist
that you expected to blow that didn't blow up? Whether
for whatever reason that you was like, they did, they

(24:00):
gonna be on the same plan as whether it was
your husband, whether it was Webb, whether it was Boozy
that you was like, they're gonna be that ship and
they did and they didn't blow.

Speaker 4 (24:10):
I can't even think right now, because there was a
lot of people in like Boosie's camp that he had
some really good yeah, like some really really good guys,
even some guys ab under Kevin. But you know, you
gotta I'm not gonna say, but gotta have like that
that it yeah.

Speaker 5 (24:29):
About New Orleans and you know you're getting from bad
and Ruge the super Bowl is going to be that.
Oh look, so so if we were asked Drika, you know,
to set up this halftime show, what names would you
put in this hat?

Speaker 4 (24:42):
Oh my gosh, we would have a blast.

Speaker 3 (24:45):
We're going way back.

Speaker 1 (24:47):
Gotta hold no, no, no, no no, this is the
super Bowl. You can't Mercedes. You can't have like Marcedes.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
We're about to say that, Well, we had to have
like fucking master p and the big timers and Little
Wayne and like we would have to have.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
As much as I love those artists, you know, we're
talking about worldwide super Bowl and I love those actuals,
why couldn't they just do.

Speaker 3 (25:16):
A little warm up like come on and leading up
to you know, so.

Speaker 1 (25:23):
It would be your headline because you see, like new
face the super Bowl, Hold on, drink, give us this
past super bersion.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
They usher killed it.

Speaker 1 (25:36):
It was, but it was a t.

Speaker 3 (25:40):
Didn't bring everybody out.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
Come on.

Speaker 3 (25:41):
I mean it would have to be that same situation
in New Orleans though.

Speaker 1 (25:45):
But who would headline the headliner?

Speaker 3 (25:47):
Don't do that to me.

Speaker 1 (25:49):
You you were just saying, how y'all, y'all what they said?
You paved the way that y'all.

Speaker 4 (25:52):
Maybe super Bowl everybody that I mentioned should have been
out there, including Kevin.

Speaker 1 (25:58):
Well, we so you had of course, like Kevin got
to be the super Okay, so whos gonna be the
hairlines is gonna be wheezy?

Speaker 3 (26:06):
Why not?

Speaker 1 (26:07):
Yeah, because he's the he's worldwide.

Speaker 3 (26:09):
Yeah, why not?

Speaker 2 (26:10):
And then we get that high boy reunion.

Speaker 3 (26:14):
But that's what I'm saying, the hot boys big time
is like, we have to have that.

Speaker 1 (26:19):
Folks over and you're watching the Super Bowl America, who is.

Speaker 3 (26:28):
Because I don't want to get into that.

Speaker 1 (26:32):
When at l we took over this.

Speaker 3 (26:34):
Yeah we can we do that on our home court.

Speaker 1 (26:41):
Okay, so go ahead, that's what we said. Look at
the camp. Hairliners is gonna be wheezy. Of course, Kevin Gates,
big Timers came my back. Can't do it, Juvie, everybody.

Speaker 4 (26:54):
Yeah, the whole game, everybody, everybody, even if we just
sprink women like, got.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
To do that.

Speaker 1 (27:02):
Yeah, there we go. I'm peeping you and how you
move just from the time a couple of times I've
been around you, and it seems I know we all
have challenges and always like to touch on this on
the show with whoever come on, creatives or folks behind
the scenes, like yourself, what do you do to really
stay in a good mental health state? Like what are

(27:27):
some of the things you do? I mean, because I
know I've you know, I can say it. I have anxiety,
different things. I do what I need to do. I
stay away from demonic as people. Yes, and I try
to stay away from people that don't have me and
their best interest. But I wanted to ask you because
I see you and I see how you move in
and once again to use that word, your energy is
so good. But what do you do from a mental

(27:49):
health standpoint to just stay in a good space.

Speaker 4 (27:52):
I do a lot of like self love practices, like
I love on myself too. I can't love on myself
no more. But I also I learned how to process
the things that I'm experiencing in life, because life is
always going to life, you know what I'm saying. And
rather than staying stuck in those situations and stuck in
those lessons like I process them. I curse, I kick,

(28:16):
I scream, I cry, do all that. But it only
takes us two minutes to process.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
Out of it.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
Yeah two minutes. Yeah, don't sit in it, don't stay
stuck in it.

Speaker 1 (28:25):
Process it, So it's not a lot of meditating. Is
that it no, No, depending on because depending on the strain.
I've had people tell me, like Jered, with your anxiety,
you don't have to smoke a lot because I don't smoke.
I'm not smoking. Yeah, so they say that depending on
the strain, new phase that it can help with.

Speaker 4 (28:47):
That it would be very beneficial for you. Even just
doing the CBD without the THHC that would help you.
It really does help with anxiety.

Speaker 1 (28:54):
That lie with what you to transition into that is
that what you're do you is that some of the
things that you offer.

Speaker 4 (29:02):
So with my the dispensary that I'm opening up, it's
called Loves Harvest and Mississippi, and I'm also I'm going
to have processing and my cultivation Center and center as well.
But though I will be offering those things because I
believe in the power that we have within ourselves to
heal ourselves, along with like the support of plants. So
that's definitely going to be things that I'll be offering

(29:25):
because you know, I've helped people to get off antidepressants
and rely on cannabis and they've never smoked a day
in their life. Still haven't smoked the day in their life,
but they consume CBD to help with their depression and
anxiety and things.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
Yeah, you get them completely off the western.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
Medicine, yes, medicare Yes.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
When did you start, like I mean, because of course
you've had to study and do research? When did that
start in your you know, in your quest in my quest?

Speaker 4 (29:55):
Yes, yes, So I've always been in health and wellness,
Like I went to LSU for two years I pre met,
but I of course I didn't finish.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
Yeah, yeah, the music industry money, so we had to
put this on. Yeah, never went.

Speaker 3 (30:11):
Back, but never went back.

Speaker 4 (30:12):
Yeah, but that's always been something I've been really really into.
And I had a surgery when I was like twenty.
I had a breast reduction, and the people damn near
killed me.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
And I was like, just I mean not any no
surgery base, but just something as basic as a breast reduction.

Speaker 4 (30:29):
Yes, and it was supposed to be outpatient. I wasn't
supposed to stay in the hospital for three days like
I did, you know, And that really really turned me
against like western medicine. And so I would say like
from then on, I was all with the like the
holistic like everything you know.

Speaker 5 (30:45):
Speaking of helping people, you've been you know and helping
uh expectant mothers.

Speaker 4 (30:50):
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, I am a certified.

Speaker 1 (30:59):
Three record.

Speaker 3 (31:03):
Certified birth dol.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
And you got a lot of range. Says a lot
about a person. Mind, you got a lot of rain.

Speaker 9 (31:10):
I do.

Speaker 3 (31:11):
Thank you.

Speaker 4 (31:15):
Everyone's been telling me like you need to connect with her,
and I'm like, I'm down for it.

Speaker 1 (31:19):
So you delivered three you said.

Speaker 4 (31:21):
Yeah, I mean I'm not a midwife, so I didn't
deliver them, but I was there in support of like
the woman that was given birth. So yes, I did
witness three births and I was there to support the woman.

Speaker 3 (31:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (31:36):
I'm sitting here man, and this is you know, this
story time with legend Jerry. I'm Jerry Clark, new face
incomparable Drinka Gates, and we we have great music discussions
on here. But this is definitely something that this is.
This is really refreshing, man, to have somebody like you
and to have these discussions music and non music. Yes,
because I'll say it again, you got range. Just something

(31:56):
my my, my mentor always says range. So that's that's
dope for you. You know, like you said, you was
a pre mad starting off at l s U with
a goal of becoming a doctor. Yes, and now you
see how life is, how God works. You full circle,
still in there and we man you come back around

(32:22):
and still young.

Speaker 5 (32:23):
Yes, yes, yes, the universe, universe baby, every time it.

Speaker 4 (32:28):
Is real full circle moments. In the past couple of years,
that's all I've been having. I'm like, I know, I'm
doing it.

Speaker 5 (32:34):
Like you said, what's for you is going to come
to you regardless.

Speaker 1 (32:39):
You know, sometimes we.

Speaker 3 (32:40):
Take the stairs, but we still get there.

Speaker 1 (32:42):
You'll get there. Yeah. Personally, professionally with your family because
you have too. You all have two kids, right, What
are some of the things that you I don't want
to say because my son isn't here now he's here
from New Orleans. He just walked in. What are some
of the things that you push for your kids to do?

Speaker 4 (33:02):
Oh, they need to know again, like how to master
their own, to master themselves self, mastery learning.

Speaker 3 (33:11):
Me too, like in the.

Speaker 4 (33:14):
Look and along with.

Speaker 1 (33:24):
She was clown what damn?

Speaker 3 (33:30):
Yeah? But learning to master themselves.

Speaker 4 (33:32):
That's something that I've been learning over the past couple
of years, like really just uneducating myself and just reprogramming myself.
And really learning, learning myself, mastering myself, master my emotions.

Speaker 2 (33:44):
How important is communication?

Speaker 4 (33:47):
Man, Communications at the top of the list. I feel
like in grade school, that's what they should be teaching
the kids that are in school.

Speaker 3 (33:54):
You know what I'm saying. That ship is very important,
you know what I mean. I'm saying that's at the
top of my list.

Speaker 5 (34:02):
So and then you know, social media again, social media
is a real thing. But oh boy, you guys are sometimes,
you know, and I want to ask you how you
guys feel about couples goals and what do you.

Speaker 10 (34:13):
Because I see so many Because look, I told a
few young ladies that I know that I was interviewing
that we was interviewing you today, and they was like,
we love her.

Speaker 1 (34:27):
She a boss and you know what.

Speaker 9 (34:29):
The second was, what man? Her and Kevin a couple
and you don't know what goes.

Speaker 5 (34:36):
On through That's why I said, yeah, the song what
they probably went through. You you're not built for what
they probably can handle. Because then shade room do the
little squiggly line.

Speaker 1 (34:48):
Yeah, I wanted to get paid to do the squiggly line.

Speaker 3 (34:53):
Exactly.

Speaker 4 (34:54):
Yeah, I mean at the end of the day, and
so I'm working on this sex love. I'm it's supposed
be a sex love and relationship certification, right, but I'm
leaving off the relationship part because I know that like
what works for one person is not gonna work for somebody. Language,
you know what I'm saying, And you gotta know your
partner's love language.

Speaker 3 (35:14):
That is like the fucking key.

Speaker 4 (35:16):
Your love language could be hell, just do something for me,
and I'm gonna and I'm gonna see that you did
that for me and appreciate that. But that person's love
languages no, I need you to touch me, I need
you to feel you know what. But that's not their
love language, so they don't get it. So that ship
is a look at.

Speaker 3 (35:35):
You over there.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
Energy. I knew who was coming ahead today.

Speaker 1 (35:49):
I was gonna say, because she'll make you step your
game up, y'all.

Speaker 3 (35:52):
I am her.

Speaker 1 (35:53):
Yes, I love it, hey man, Yes, And Kevin, I
know he appreciates and he really realizes what he has
because yes, these women here and we talked about this
off camera. Can you can you please you?

Speaker 5 (36:04):
You?

Speaker 1 (36:04):
You you just touched on a little bit. You got
to teach a class, you gotta you have to. I
really am starting.

Speaker 4 (36:13):
Starting, I'm working on it because this.

Speaker 1 (36:17):
Ship has turned into everything is let me stop say.

Speaker 4 (36:23):
No, I know because I see it and I'm like,
what everything is going on right now?

Speaker 1 (36:28):
Just transactional, man.

Speaker 3 (36:29):
I know. And that's why everything.

Speaker 1 (36:32):
You start off like that with Kevin twenty years ago,
like hey, hey we had this football game. You need
to buy me two hot dogs and some chips.

Speaker 3 (36:38):
Hell yeah, I'm just saying hell no, it didn't go
like that. Yeah, when it's together.

Speaker 1 (36:45):
Yeah, because it's it's in this day and age. Not
everything is trying in your face.

Speaker 2 (36:51):
You know, there used to be a build up.

Speaker 5 (36:52):
You meet somebody, Now they're looking at your page, kids,
three kids. It's like, oh, she doesn't sure a boy friend,
hands and feet, but they show the face and it's
just like yeah, playing rights, you know, they don't show them.

Speaker 2 (37:07):
Then they pop up pregnant. You be like that.

Speaker 5 (37:10):
There's just so many rules and I'll be like, dang,
remember just the phone calls.

Speaker 3 (37:15):
Man, I'm glad I'm not dating right now.

Speaker 4 (37:18):
I'm sorry God, because I.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
Look because because because the ship that I hear, I
hear about the dudes too. Now I hear it. These
some weird ass, these weird ass dudes out here now.

Speaker 4 (37:34):
Hey, look, I've been here all staying your relationship, you
and Kevin Keeth.

Speaker 1 (37:41):
Thriving, y'all y'all doing. I really appreciate you once again,
story time with legendary Jerry, got new face drink against
before we get out of here, and we already went
through it a little bit. But I just gotta do this.
I have to. I have to your Louisiana. God, look

(38:04):
you're the first lady of rus. Come on, look your
Louisiana mount Rushmore. Yeah, it really ain't. It really ain't
because it's from four to three.

Speaker 9 (38:17):
So Kevin is one. Yeah, yeah, Kevin is one. Who
are the other three?

Speaker 1 (38:23):
Is that Louisiana, Louisiana mount Rushmore?

Speaker 3 (38:26):
Kevin Lil Wayne. Of course.

Speaker 4 (38:31):
I'm saying this because he's like a little brother, NB,
a young boy. I know that he's but you know
what I'm saying, dude is talented.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
Yes, how many more I gotta go?

Speaker 1 (38:42):
So you got Kevin we knew, young boy, weezy.

Speaker 2 (38:47):
And got any women put up there or female.

Speaker 11 (38:51):
Don't don't try to hey she she Well, I was
gonna say, y'all ain't need five before y'all to to five,
ain't even it used to be five before then when.

Speaker 1 (39:02):
The whole state fire before, y'all to to five?

Speaker 10 (39:05):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (39:06):
One more? Drinka, God, why can we just stop with no?
Just got three? I would have let you, but when
I said I was thirty five, you kind of tried
to play me.

Speaker 3 (39:17):
But it's cool I did not. You just called me
off card.

Speaker 1 (39:22):
I'm just one more hold on needs to look. I'm
gonna help. You got NBA young boy, You got your
husband Kevin Gates, You got Wheezy, all that talent that
came nobody at the bad Ruge that you all as
you just said no limit would have warned versus I

Speaker 3 (39:48):
Gosh, I'll just I have to throw on a woman.
I'll just throw me at that.

Speaker 1 (39:54):
She followed. She followed, I brought her to let me see,

Speaker 1 (40:33):
Ye it was for sure, Yeah, no, this was this
was Would you would you discourage your kids from going
to the music busins?

Speaker 3 (40:42):
I don't.

Speaker 1 (40:44):
You would encourage.

Speaker 3 (40:45):
I don't encourage them.

Speaker 8 (40:46):
To know.

Speaker 4 (40:47):
My daughter, she she was getting into acting when she
was little, but then she started complaining about the traffic
because we were in LA and going to all the.

Speaker 1 (40:55):
Auditions and kids they'll flip on any little thing.

Speaker 3 (40:57):
I don't want to do. Yeah, and now she's like
I want to. I'm like.

Speaker 2 (41:04):
Little daughter with the video.

Speaker 1 (41:06):
Yeah, it's great. And you see, like I said, I
have my son, he's in college down in New Orleans,
and I have two older daughters and my out of
the three, only one dibbling the music bens. But I
always told them with the with the unethical people that
I've come across and a lot of the stress and anxiety

(41:27):
and once again the demonic people, that.

Speaker 3 (41:30):
You don't yeah, don't if Mike, I will.

Speaker 1 (41:36):
You know what I mean, go do some Go do
some other ship because this ship is I say they did.

Mentoring anyone young women coming up or in the in
the game that.

Speaker 3 (41:49):
No, I'm not, but I may in the future.

Speaker 4 (41:52):
You know, I'm just trying to like I'm like I said,
I've been working on myself, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (41:58):
That's that's it. Man down the farm cooking some some
good Louisiana cooking with all the extra season correct.

Speaker 3 (42:05):
Oh, it has to be seasoned.

Speaker 1 (42:07):
Don't do there.

Speaker 3 (42:09):
No no no no no no no, because I don't.

Speaker 1 (42:11):
Do something said the food.

Speaker 4 (42:14):
But what I what I cook is like super nourishing
for the body.

Speaker 3 (42:18):
Like I don't do all that old extra stuff.

Speaker 1 (42:21):
No meat, no nothing, I do meat.

Speaker 3 (42:23):
I'm very balanced. I just don't do like the dairy
and the heavy creams and all that.

Speaker 5 (42:28):
The recommendation, you know, drinking. I'm coming to the town.
I need something to eat.

Speaker 2 (42:33):
What's the top two where I need to go? Plus
the backup playing, plus the backup play the case it's
a line.

Speaker 4 (42:40):
Oh, there's a restaurant called restaurant its Revolution where it's
really no, no, this is New Orleans.

Speaker 1 (42:48):
Yeah that my son has.

Speaker 3 (42:53):
Revolution. It's like a really really.

Speaker 1 (42:55):
Cool spot Revolution Revolution.

Speaker 4 (42:59):
All no, no, no, they don't have that. If you
want that, you need to go to.

Speaker 1 (43:04):
Oh, my god.

Speaker 3 (43:05):
See y'all don't go to these.

Speaker 4 (43:06):
Places that much, y'all exactly. And I'm fixing, fixing my
own food.

Speaker 2 (43:11):
I want to act me in New Orleans.

Speaker 4 (43:14):
Oyster House is really good. But there's another spot. It's
so good.

Speaker 3 (43:18):
I can't even think of it right now.

Speaker 2 (43:20):
But you travel to Atlanta. What about the food here?
When you rape them?

Speaker 3 (43:24):
I'm so sorry. Atlanta's not it for the food.

Speaker 1 (43:30):
Really, I know the customer service, isn't that for the
actual food. We got some fly good restaurants.

Speaker 3 (43:38):
