Speaker 1 (00:05):
This is straight Fire with Jason McIntyre.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
What is up? Straight Fire? I am It's me Jason McIntyre,
Straight Boyer for Thursday, August twenty eight. Boy, I'm not
gonna lie double duty this week. Oh it's a tough Unfortunately,
Rob g in the Place to Be has been delivering
some banger guests. So we got a certain Chiefs fan on.
(00:33):
Oh yeah, he's not happy with me. Nor Nora is
Chief's Nation And listen, I get it. I will say
on some of this stuff, you know, hosting the Herd
this week, some of this stuff that pops. I mean,
I said Jalen Hurts was the best dual threat quarterback
in the league and perhaps all time. And the logic
was simple and sound and very basic. He's thrown for
fifteen or more touchdowns and rushed for ten or more
(00:54):
touchdowns four straight years. Nobody else in league history has
done that more than twice. He's done a four straight years.
I get it. Josh Allen is an awesome machine. He's
a behemoth. He is great at occasionally scrambling. Jalen Hurts
still has the only automatic play in the NFL, the
Brotherly Chef. It's automatic. It's unstoppable like Josh Allen's phenomenal.
(01:18):
He's the MVP. Lamar has two vps. There's one unstoppable
play in the league, and Jalen Hurts has it. And
if it's just insane that people think that, that's like
an unbelievably ridiculous take. Oh wow, better running quarterbacks. I
didn't say that. I didn't say running. I said he's
the best dual threat. Michael Vick was awesome. I love
(01:40):
Michael Vick, huge fan. Cam Newton had an amazing MVP season.
But if you look at the totality of their career
and what they did, you just show me the Jalen
Hurts passing numbers next to the Cam Newton It's laughable.
I know you could say, well, Cam Newton didn't have
two All pros. He had Greg Olsen, who's a borderline
(02:00):
Hall of Famer, agains Steve Smith, who might be in
the Hall of Fame. I don't even know. I know
he's in the Hall of Fame. I've been doing crazy
stuff and not being a nice guy. But uh, the
reality is, like, yes, some of these guys were really
good due a threat quarterbacks, I just put Jalen Hurts first,
I mean he has a Super Bowl MVP beating Patrick
Mahomes times in Mahomes has been in the playoffs. Do
(02:21):
you know how many quarterbacks have beaten him? It's Joe
Burrow and Arrowhead Tom Brady and Arrowhead Tom Brady in
the Super Bowl and now Jalen Hurts in the Super Bowl.
That's it. In the playoffs, Like Mahomes is really tough
to be and you could say he's not playing Mahomes,
He's playing Pagnolo Finees Bagnolo elite defensive coordinator. Come on, anyways,
people just going crazy on the internet. It could be
(02:42):
that we're starved for football, but fear not. We have
college this weekend, three really good games. But we'll dig
more into those with some best bets tomorrow, but for now,
enjoy Darren Smith Radio legend in Kansas City.

he knows everything when it comes to sports.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
I know what sports fans wants, but for.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
Everything he doesn't. He knows a guy who does.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
Let's just say I know a guy who knows the
guy who knows another guy. All right, let's welcome back
to straight fire. When the Kansas City Chiefs make news,
we bring in our guy. He's so plugged it, Darren Smith,
k l KC Radio. If you're watching on YouTube, look
at this dapper guy. He's got the three piece suit on,
(03:43):
he's got the tie. The only thing is, Darren, it's
not a red suit. I thought you'd be celebrating the
Taylor Travis engagement.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
Well, look, first of all, thank you for having me, Jason,
and I'll really delve them to the personal I try to,
you know, separate that from from and you know, from
the work that I do. So uh so, that's why
a lot of the players, well that's why all the
players respect because I don't talk about their personal life
when it relates to you know, what they do on
the field. But very happy for Travis, very happy for Tailor,
(04:12):
of course, and of course for Chiefs Kingdom. You know
this is gonna be I guess our royal wedding, so
to speak. So uh so, uh you know, I mean, look,
I guess the one good thing about that is that
there shouldn't really be any distraction so to speak, as
people will like to say that took place last year,
This is this upcoming is because we already know what
the end result is gonna be.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Oh really, no distruct The planning of the wedding of
the century, a royal wedding is not a distraction.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
Well, he's not gonna be one to play. He's gonna
be paying for it. But I don't think he has
to plan anything.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
Well wait a minute, listen, are you married, Derek?
Speaker 3 (04:48):
Uh No, not yet?
Speaker 2 (04:49):
Okay, all right, just as a heads up when you're
getting married, obviously the wife is gonna handle most of
the stuff because she's gonna, you know, want it. It's
her day. We get you're gonna come and hit you
up with what do you think of this? Probably six
months straight every other day at the at the middle.
So this idea that this is not a distraction, I'm
(05:10):
not saying it's bad, it's this is life. But I
think the real question is are you gonna cop an invite?
You know? Do you think the Casey media will be there?
I don't have words it is this gonna be a
destination wedding? Are they gonna pull a bezos and take
over Venice for a week. I don't know, but I
have a feeling you'll be there. You're plugged in.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
Well, here's the thing, funny story, true story. As a
matter of fact, last year, I can't remember. This might
have been after one of the games. I was interviewing
Kelsey because I don't I don't try to. I don't
try to interview when everybody else does. I always try
to get my interview scheduled, yeah, weeks in advance, so
when we do talk is one on one, and I
just happened to ask him after we finished. I said, look, man,
(05:47):
I don't talk about you first left, you know, they said,
Do I respect that? I said, but if by chance,
something happens between you and Taylor and you know you,
you know, you decide to get on the knee or something,
you break down and a brother get an invite to
the wedding. He told me, where batim d You've always
been a real one. I got you. So I can
only take the man at his word. So if he
invites me cool. If if he forgets, of course, I
(06:09):
will remind Huddle. I will remind her because all this
happened before, you know, before the you know, after the
last preseason game, so we didn't get a chance to
talk about this particularly thing. But of course talk about
it next week when the locker rooms open, and so
I'll kind of bring that up to him and see
whether that he remembers it.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
You know, remember that you imagine what your friends will
say if you're like, hey, guys, this weekend, I'm out
of the mix, I'm going to the tailor sof wedding.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
Well, first of all, if it actually does take place,
I'm pretty sure I'll have to be sworn a secrecy
so until until it actually happened, so I wouldn't bring
it up.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
Yeah, I don't know what you get them as a
wedding gift. By the way, what do you think they
go with? A band or a DJ? Just curious.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
I think they will go with a band because it's
I couldn't see her doing the DJ. Probably a band, hmm.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
Interesting, You might be right on that. I was thinking
you got to go DJ at the wedding.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
I mean, you need to. I think at the reception
you probably might. But but oh, that's what I meant.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
That's what I meant at the reception. Obviously, wedding, you
go back, reception, you gotta go.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
That's that's a tough one, man. I don't know that.
I mean, because you look, you're talking about somebody who
is bigger than life. You know, she's on that level
with behind you. So I don't know what you would do.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
And that's a good question for Kelsey during the media
session next time with him. Forget about erasing career lows
in touchdowns and yards? Hey, are you going to get
a band or a DJ for the reception. In serious news, though,
the Kansas City Chiefs she Rice will be suspended for
the first six games of the season. That popped as
(07:41):
we record this on Wednesday's popped on Wednesday morning. That
seems like a big hit Hollywood Brown. The idea of
him remains greater than the actual player on the field. Obviously,
they still have worthy. I think this is a big
ding early and listen, you've seen that schedule. It is
difficult early.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
Here's the thing, they always knew there would be there
would be a portion of the season they were they
were going to be without Rashid. I think they would
rather have it now versus in the middle of the
season that originally he was scheduled to meet with the
NFL and and I guess Sue Robinson around September thirtieth,
So of course that would have taken place after Week four,
and who knows what would have happened there. I think
(08:21):
the biggest fear that was taking place in why it
was to rush to her up and get to settle,
because while the league was looking for ten games and
she was looking for possibly six whatever, Sue Robinson would
have had the option to, you know, make it as
long as she wanted to. So you could have been
in a situation where he plays the first four or
five games and could easily have been suspended the rest
(08:41):
of the season, and there's no chance of appeal about that,
because if you remember, I think Deshaun Watson originally got
like six games for his for his and then it
got extended to eleven. So that was an option that
she had that the you know, the independent judge had
that they could rease it or decrease it and you
(09:02):
couldn't appeal that. So instead of instead of you know,
kind of play the odds on that, I think it
was better that they were able to settle and come
to an agreement of the six games.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
Yeah, there was a lot of hype about the offense,
and it could still come to fruition later in the
season with Rice and everybody healthy. But I just daren't.
I'm not being negative here, I'm just being real. I'm
not being This is just honest. This is just the facts.
The Kansas City Chiefs, I look around the roster and
I'm like, where did they improve this offseason? Because I
(09:35):
know the Raiders improved, they got a new coach, they
got a new quarterback, they got a star running back.
We know the Broncos have the best defense in the league,
and the Chargers had a pretty solid draft. I just
I'm looking at the Chiefs pinpoint to me an area
where they improved, and if you say backup tackle, it's
stealing more from the Niners. That's fine, but we all
(09:55):
know that real improvement, you know.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
I do believe that they on the offensive line, at
least in the area of left tackle. I think Josh
Simmons is going to be a vast improvement over the
last two uh over the last two left tackles that
the Chiefs have had, including Kingsley who moves over to guard,
along with jan Ye Morris, who's a backup. Obviously, you
get Juwan Taylor who's still there. You bring back Craig
(10:20):
Humphrey and along with along with Trady Smith on their extensions.
Here's the thing, it's it's it's not really it's not
really a matter of them quote unquote improving overall, because
I do think that they've gotten better overall as a team.
To your point, Now, look, I've seen a lot of
your takes. I don't think there's been any year that
you that you've had the Chiefs either making the playoffs
(10:41):
or winners. So so so let's put that out there.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
Now.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
Let's put because you know it takes. It takes a
stretch even for me from time to time. But I
respect because at least you stand on it. But here's
the thing. The Raiders are always going to be the Raiders.
The Raiders will shoot themselves in the foot when it
comes to Pimoty's late game situations no matter who the
head coach. And we've seen that the charters from time
to time, Jim marl Ball gets in this. Uh you know,
(11:05):
Jim Marrowle gets in his own way, and I just
don't have enough traps when it comes to boy wonder
as in as in justin Herbert. You know, at the
end of the day he will make a mistake, he
would try to press and do too much. Win it
matters most the Broncos. Broncos are good. Defense is solid.
They probably should have they probably should have beaten the Chiefs.
(11:25):
And you know in the first game, work in the
game at Arrowhead, but you know, uh fate had otherwise
with that field goal. So if anybody improves the most,
it has the best chance of perhaps keeping the Chiefs
and winning the division again. I will give it to
the Broncos. However, I just don't think offensively they'll be
able to put enough points on why I think the
Chiefs at the end of the day. Defensively, you know
(11:47):
you still got stags and you shall have a lot
of those core players on defense that at the biggest moments,
with the brightest lights, they still know how to show
up and play.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
So clearly one of us thinks that the Chiefs are
going to the playoffs. The other thing that the Chiefs
are probably gonna win the Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (12:03):
I do have to get there, get there.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
Who's the biggest competition for the Chiefs in the ANFC?
Speaker 3 (12:12):
Tough one. If I had to go with it, I'd
say Baltimore. Man, It's just it's something about the a
f C north Man and and Baltimore I think is
a more complete team both offensively and defensively. I think,
I think, you know, when you when you look at
a team like Cincinnati, Cincinnati is gonna be greater, They're
gonna be putting points on the board. But they but
with their defense, I know, they just got hindersing to
(12:35):
you know, to a deal this week. That defense still
gives up too many points and gives up it gives
us too much, uh yards on the ground. And so
if I if I had to say the most complete team,
I would give it to Baltimore. Obviously, people are gonna
put Buffalo up in that mix. Uh you know. I
mean they're in a week high there during the week
division with the AFC East, so they'll, you know, so
(12:57):
they'll they'll be at it at the end along along
with Baltimore. Now, the Chiefs do play the Chiefs do
play both teams again this year, both Baltimore and Buffalo.
And if Buffalo normally finds a way to not Kansas
City off in the regular season, that's fine. You know
they can have the regular season title when it matters most.
Kansas City has been able to beat both teams when
(13:18):
it counts most in the postseason. So if it's still
if it still works out that way, but obviously the
Chiefs can't. Probably well, it probably would face both depending
on WW the record's in. But if I had to
choose a team that could knock Kansas City off, it
would be Baltimore this year.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
Interesting, so Baltimore's favored in fifteen of seventeen games. They
are underdogs at Buffalo in the opener just one and
a half, and then a dog at KC. Meanwhile, Buffalo
is favored in every game this season. Now, Buffalo's schedule
is cake dre and I'm sure you've seen it. Yeah here,
I mean basically the quarterbacks they have to face away
(13:55):
from home or like Spencer Rattler drink may you know,
I'm sorry, not Spencer Ratan, Sorry Michael Pennox, Bryce Young
to uh justin Fields. The best guy, I guess is
c J. Stroud, And I don't know about you. I
don't think as holy as c J. Stroud as everybody
else does. The guy had one good season.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
Let's be real, so he's only played two seasons, to
be fair.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
I know, but we put him on this pedestal after
one year. I mean, freaking Jalen Hurts is out here
going to two super Bowls winning, being the Super.
Speaker 3 (14:23):
Bowl Jon quarterback Jason Technically, that's what everybody's doing with
with the with the Jayden in DC as well right now.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
So I mean, I mean he had one season, no, no.
Speaker 3 (14:35):
I get it. But but but right now, if you
look at it, people are saying Jayden Daniels is probably
top five, you know, after the first four they put
him in that, in that number five position right now.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
I don't know, but yeah, where do you stand on that?
Aren't you all? I need more than seventeen games worth
of data? I mean, shit, brock Perdy's got like three
good seasons. Where's he? H?
Speaker 3 (14:55):
Well, I don't think he's top five, Okay, I don't think. Okay,
but you're asking me, so if you're asking me for me,
even though he the little hurt, I would give it
to Matthew Matthew Stafford out of out of l A one,
you know, he's one. And of course, you know, we
look at a couple other quarterbacks I think and now,
I do think Jalen Hurts is top seven. I give
(15:16):
him seven just because you know there is more to
be desired offensively when he has the ball. But he
is a winner, and he's a leader and that and
that goes a long way. And he is someone that
has beat Patrick Mahomes at the highest level. Winning counts
most and I take that into account as well.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Where are you on the NFC. You seem to think
Chiefs will go to the Super Bowl?
Speaker 3 (15:36):
I'm not.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
I think NFC is kind of weak. I don't know.
Is it Niners, you got Eagles, you got.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
Look, people think that this can't happen, but I think
it could. It could. Essentially, I think we're going to
see the rematch in week number two. I think the
Eagles and the Chiefs go go right back again.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
What like, it's weird. Last summer, Darren, all we heard
was can the Chiefs three peat? Can they three I
haven't heard one person say are the Eagles going to repeat?
It's like nobody's even talking about them.
Speaker 3 (16:04):
You know what. But here's the thing, they're not even
talking about it. One of the things that that that
concern me. And I know you and I talked. I
think either after the AFC Championship game or close to
the Super Bowl. You have me on your podcast. You
know I always told people that, you know, to me
to to start, I always in Kansa city can get
to Super Bowl. When they get there, it's a fifty
(16:25):
to fifty shot because I'm not going to disrespect or
take away from the other team because they had to
do a lot to get there as well. So my
thing is I never said the Chiefs are gonna win it.
I always say they'll get there, and then you know,
the chess fall, let the chists fall where they may.
The thing is, when when those two teams met, I
saw something. I guess when it you know, when it
came open to night or whatever. The seriousness in which
(16:45):
the Eagles took, you know, took this Super Bowl because
you got to remember and and that game two years ago,
and what was it than lost uh uh in Arizona.
You know, they had the ball on their last drive
and and and they lost the game. You know, they
lost thirty eight thirty one or thirty thirty five, and
and and that's something that they had to live with
for you know, most of the players for the last
(17:06):
two years, they got back to the Chiefs were looking
to make history. The Eagles were looking for revenge and
and and and that revenge for them tasted a lot
much better, you know, take tastes more better than it
was for the Chiefs to try to make history. And
I also thought the Chiefs were a little bit distracted
when again, I know, President Trump was there and some
of the players wanted to make you know, go out
(17:27):
go out their way to uh to shake hands and
and and try to get pictures with Trump, while the Eagles,
they you know, they didn't care. They were just ready
for kickoff. And literally after after the opening drive, when
the Chiefs couldn't convert on that opening drive, when Kelsey
dropped their third down pass, I knew at that time
Chiefs wasn't winning that super Bowl. And that's hard for
me to say for someone it was just zero zero,
(17:48):
but just how they started off the game. They neglected
to run the football, and they were trying to make
it all about you know, making Patrick a three times
super Bowl, you know, MVP and and all this other stuff,
well uh uh and and make history and stuff in
the three peton versus just trying to do what got
you that which is running the football and some of
the other things that they did, and I think they
(18:10):
got off track leading up to the game and the
game itself.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
Wait, Darren, just for clarity here, you sound like you're
saying it was less about the Eagles and more about
the ch Is that accurate or no?
Speaker 3 (18:24):
No, no, no, no, no, no, it's a mixed to both.
But no, the Eagles kicked the Chiefs ass. Let's let
it listen. I was there. I hated to see that
they kicked. They kicked their ass. I'm just saying that
the Chiefs, and look and and Ady Reid admitted later
later on at the combine that they got away from
running the football. They got away from from from what
they normally do. I could remember they were, you know,
(18:46):
outside the last game which most of the stars and play.
They were fifteen and one. I mean, the only game
that they had lost during the regular season besides the
last game was against was against Buffalo. So, you know,
so to get to the Super Bowl and you essentially
with your starters, only lose that one game against Buffalo,
and you you know, you give up the lastkiing because
you didn't have a reason play. I mean that you know,
you had to be a great team and offensive east defensively,
(19:09):
you know, saying they get there, and so I just
think that I think the Eagles did a lot much
better preparation when it came to winning that game than
the Chiefs did.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
Yeah, no, okay, on that I would I would agree on.
Speaker 1 (19:21):

Speaker 2 (19:33):
I will say the two times the Chiefs have gotten
to the Super Bowl, essentially their offensive line just got overwhelmed.
So they lose Toney, who was their best offensive Wow,
I'm sorry. He was excellent last year. He was their
most flexible, played everywhere. And now it sounds like Taylor,
who's a disaster on the line, is their right tackle,
and you could admitute he's a disaster. It's fine, he
(19:55):
false starts all the time, blah blah blah. And then
Josh Simmons of the rookie it was a super promising player,
but's coming off a massive injury. We'll see. I don't
know how you can feel optimistic with that going into
the season. I mean, I I did read all the
Oh my.
Speaker 3 (20:10):
God, did you're not set year?
Speaker 2 (20:13):
I saw last year.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
That's what I'm saying. So I mean, if you and
and Wyym Morris, if you go back to the prime
time I'm sorry to the Amazon Prime game that that
Black Friday game. Look, look late in the fourth quarter,
Patrick mahomes H in the second half, Patrick's snapping uh,
not not only on Wyyan Morris, but but at the
coaching staff talking about get him out of here because
(20:35):
he was getting he was getting taken to the woods shed. Now,
obviously the Raiders and and and and the D line
are not to be scuffled with. However, the lack of
protection and that that that that that left tackle position
was facing most of the last season. Look, I'm a
big proponent of I don't know, I don't even want
Josh Simmons start, and I don't like a rookie starting
(20:55):
in that position. I wish I wish that they would
have gotten tuzzled at somebody, be personally, because to me,
if you got a half a billion dollar investment, are
you really willing to risk it on a rookie, you know,
versus somebody who has the experience of all pro someone
like that that has experienced, but they believe enoughing and
in this kid versus you know, the previous two. I
(21:16):
would have thought that they would have brought back Donovan
Smith last year. They of course, they of course had
had the had the player that they that they had
traded for what Arizona His name just slistam at the moment.
But and I thought that they should have went on
and put him back in at left tackle for the
Super Bowl and move Tuney back at guard. But they didn't.
But again, at the end of the day, I'm not
(21:37):
taking nothing away from from what happened in the game
because the Eagles, I think just they were just a
better team that day.
Speaker 2 (21:44):
What would you say the odds are Travis Kelsey retires
after the season, regardless if they missed the playoffs, win
the Super Bowl, losing the second round, whatever. Do you
think he's automatically retiring after the season.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
If they win, he comes back. That's the way.
Speaker 2 (21:57):
If they win, he returns to go for an other one.
Speaker 3 (22:00):
Yep, that that that's just how he's built. He's always
Look if they if they would have won, he probably
would have gone off to the sunset. But but I
also know I know Travils enough. Look, I've covered him
since he did it. I know him well enough that
he would have tried to go for four in a row.
So I mean that's just and again it just it
just depends on how the season plays out, the wear
(22:22):
and tear, you know, you know how much he's utilized. Again,
I've got to, man, I think you and I have
to have this conversation and you know, as we get
to the playoffs versus you know, to see how the
season unfolds, you know, to really come back and and
and and answer that question for you. But if they
were to win, I would I would submit that he
would come back.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
Wow, that's a shocker. Now what about Andy Reid? Does
he say, hey, he's.
Speaker 3 (22:45):
Not going No, no, no, now Andy, Look man, Andy
has signed a new five year deal last year. As
long as he's got my homes healthy and and and
a good chance one. Andy is trying to win, you know,
and he's trying to go for a couple more records.
But the the one thing I love about any and
I've seen this every year, especially to a training camps,
as young as the team continued to gets, it makes
(23:07):
him younger. He loves being around, and I guess if
the team was losing, that'd be one thing. But with
the success that he's you know that they're getting. Uh,
I can't see stepping stepping down and leave him on
the table and look at I love his wife too.
She ain't she's not about to let any re quit
any time soon.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
Yeah. Wow, that's hars. I would have hoped my wife
would say, can you quit so you could so we
could just hang out and do fun stuff all the time.
But you're okay interesting. Yeah, maybe I got that wrong.
I'll have to run that here, all right. Uh, I
will not run that by her, right, all right? Darren Smith,
k l KC Radio. I'm glad we got to talk
to you before the season, so the predictions are out there.
If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, I own it, I wear it,
(23:46):
so I'm right.
Speaker 3 (23:48):
Hold on, but book before we go. Now, tell me
your a f C West AFC stuff and where can't
see fire? I want you on the record for my
own need.
Speaker 2 (23:55):
Yeah, I'll go Broncos, Chargers, Chiefs, Raiders.
Speaker 3 (23:59):
Oh third place? Oh okay, yeah, okay, well.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
I have I have Chiefs missing the playoffs. I know
they hate me, but listen, a multitude of reasons. I mean,
but besides the offensive line issues, Kelsey going downhill coming
off his worst season. I mean, he's gonna lead the
league in commercials.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
And you know they're still in fifteen to two last year, right.
Speaker 2 (24:21):
Yeah, they won eleven to zero in one score games.
There's zero chance they sniff that again. Maybe they go,
then they're not could play eleven of them. Let's say
they go. They dropped the four and six in one
score games, which is normal. There's always regression there. All
of a sudden, you're not fifteen wins anymore. You're looking
at like eight, nine to ten. The schedule is unforgiving. Buffalo,
by the way, has the easiest schedule in the league.
Speaker 3 (24:42):
No, no, I get that, but Jason, But Jason, even if
you look at the schedule, you know, I would say,
you know, maybe Philly Baltimore and you know, even if
you want to give it a Buffalo, I guess, you know.
But as a team overall skilled player and stuff, the
Chiefs still have the you know, maybe outside of Philly,
the Chiefs, you have the best skilled players that's going
to be on that field. I mean, yeah, I said,
(25:07):
I said, I said, with the exception of possibly feel
I still think quarterback is still is still going to
be my home. But I'm saying, but wide receivers, I
would give that to the Eagles. D line ed you know,
I'd say, I push offensive line, I would give it
to the Eagles. I'm saying, but some of the skilled positions,
you know, running backs I would give to you know,
I give to uh the Eagles. But you know, but coaching,
(25:30):
I'm gonna still give to injury. I'm saying, Andy Reid
and and even spags on the defense side of football.
So I'm saying, when it, you know, when it comes
to to the to the small minute things, especially when
you talk about those close score games, those one score games,
that comes down to coaching, coaching and players and stuff,
I'm still gonna give the edge to the Chiefs winning
matters most because again, the Chiefs will allow other teams
(25:52):
to make those mistakes. And while fans get upset about
the Chiefs winning and win the score, one score games
don't mean mater I have the Chiefs get mad at
the other teams for not being able to overcome their
their deficits of their mistakes that they make. That the
Chiefs force him to do.
Speaker 2 (26:05):
Yeah, let me ask you this, who would you rather
have skill position wise? Just skill position, Jaguars are Chiefs.
Speaker 3 (26:15):
I still take the Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (26:17):
I mean, Brian Thomas is better than any is better
than Racie Rice and Travis Hunter. If we're to believe
the hype is amazing. I think et n is better
than Isaiah Pacheco. I mean, obviously you know they're they're
good at tight end. But I'm gonna give you the
nod on Kelsey. I mean, Jags have a legit offense.
And oh, by the way, those tackles for the Chiefs
are gonna find out in Week two against Philly and
(26:38):
in Week three against the Giants that defensive front for
the Giants is formidable. And now the rest of the
team stinks, but they're frank s filthy.
Speaker 3 (26:45):
You're making a seam that the Chiefs aren't going to
be appeared for these for these matchups.
Speaker 2 (26:50):
The Chiefs are going to show up, Yeah, I think.
Speaker 3 (26:55):
Yeah. So I'm saying, so, you know the other teams,
you know, they got to make sure that they do
their exits and those as well. Again, I'm not I'm
not too concerned. Look, the Eagles game, of course, will
be on U off network. It'll be an arrowhead. Of
course I'll beat out. I might have my barbecue and stuff.
And then of course the follow.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
Remember that's after the what is it Brazil opener? We
don't know how teams are gonna respond to a week
like you've gone on travel.
Speaker 3 (27:19):
The same way. The Eagles was fined last year after
after that Week one when they didn't look good early.
Speaker 2 (27:24):
In the season. Remember remember they struggled early at first
four games.
Speaker 3 (27:27):
It was like whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa what they wont though?
Speaker 2 (27:29):
Didn't they let me check if they won their Week
two game? Hold on, I believe that before they know
they lost Atlanta twenty two twenty one, okay, and then
they squeaked by the Saints and they got smashed by Tampa.
There was no Aj Brown in that one, so they
were sitting at two and two.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
Okay, okay. Will to be fair, Atlanta New Orleans is
not Eagles giants that the Chiefs are gonna be so
I mean that's uh. I mean they lost for twenty
two twenty one. I don't know how they lost their
game still, so.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
That was the Kirk Cousins totally screwed up in the
fourth quarter. They had two drives late to try to
pull it off and could do neither. If memory serves,
I could no. Wait, Kirk Cousins did get it done.
They want that's right. Yeah, yea Eagles lost that my bad.
So yeah, like again, I know it's read.
Speaker 3 (28:16):
It's gonna be a tough It looks it's gonna be tough.
I think I think the Week two game again, Look,
and the Chiefs can lose that game. It just but
I peected they're not gonna lose thirty four to six
or whatever the score was in the super Bowl. That's
not happened. I just you know, I just think that
forty I just think that it's gonna be much It's
(28:36):
gonna be much close and much tighter. And look, the
Chiefs offense will not be what it is because obviously
she Rice is gonna be out of the game. And
I'm not just gonna put it just on him. You know,
I can tell you through our training camp. That's something
that the Chiefs. You know, obviously they're you know, they
always prepare for their first game, which is the Chargers.
But trust and believe they got some stuff in mind
(28:58):
and in store to day that they've prepared for do
our training camp for the Eagles game.
Speaker 2 (29:03):
M hmm, well maybe they'll overlook the Chargers and lose
in Brazil. Uh, we'll definitely have you back and listen.
If the Chiefs are on the doorstep of missing the playoffs,
you know, your boy, it's gonna be thumbing his chest
doing a victory lab all right. Yeah, yeah, But then again,
the Chiefs will probably be in the Super Bowl again,
and I'll be a moron, all right, Dearren, good stuff, man,
(29:25):
and we'll.
Speaker 3 (29:25):
Talk to you. Yeah, sounds good. Thanks,
