Speaker 1 (00:05):
This is Straight Fire with Jason McIntyre.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
What is up, straight Fire, Fam, It's me Jason McIntyre,
Straight Fire for Thursday, September fourth. We've been waiting for
this for what like seven months. The NFL is back,
ladies and gentlemen to celebrate Cowboys Eagles tonight. We got
a great guest recorded with Bernie Fratto Fox Sports Radio.

(00:31):
For the last three seasons we've had him on Week one.
He's got all these great trends. Now we're not trend betters,
but Week one open game, everything is in play and
Bernie's got some great great stuff. Now we disagree greatly
on tonight's game. I don't want to spoil it, but
at the end of the podcast, I'll give my best

(00:53):
bet for tonight's game. I'm not gonna pick a side.
I already bet the Eagles for what it's worth, but
only because Bernie the disagrees and he backs it up
with some good stuff. I don't think the Cowboys gonna
be good this year, but they're gonna be frisky. I'm
just so excited to have football back. All my drafts
are done. I'm in too many survivor leagues. I'm in
too many pick them leagues, folks. I'm gonna try to

(01:13):
contain the excitement. I'm also gonna try to not order
pizza on Sunday and watch football for like eight hours.
That being said, I did see a report that according
to the red Zone guy, there will be commercials now
in red zone. What I mean, listen, I get it capitalism. Yeah, yeah,
you got a profit off the red zone. But that's
a little disappointing. Clean it up, NFL. Anyways, without further ado,

(01:37):
let's get to Bernie Frotto Fox Sports Radio and at
the end of the podcast, we'll have best bet for
tonight Cowboys Eagles.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in

it comes to sports.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
I know what sports fans want, but for.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Everything he doesn't, he knows a guy who does.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
Let's just say I know a guy who knows a
guy who knows another guy.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
All right, let's welcome back to Straight Fire, one of
the top gambling guys in the country. He's based out
of Vegas, he's with Fox Sports Radio. He's on everywhere.
I mean, he's doing podcast all the time because he's
got such great content.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
Bernie Froddo, Bernie, how you doing, man, Jason?

Speaker 5 (02:29):
Thanks for having me. This is our fourth year in
a row.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
It's kind of becoming up yeah, a NFL Eve ritual
as it were.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Oh yeah, I'm super geekd for week one.

Speaker 5 (02:39):
Now.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
The problem is controlling myself. My urges are to fire
on every game. I gotta, I gotta, I gotta take
on every game. I got money on it. I don't.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
I'm trying to slow my role. I don't know if
we should start with I'll get I'll give it to you.
Do you want to start with your best bet of
the weekend, your best side whatever? Or do you want
to just go start with tonight's game Cowboys Eagles and
then and then move forward to whatever you like, you know, as.

Speaker 5 (03:03):
You'll get beer.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
I might say we have different similarities because I was
jumping at the bid to give my best bet of
the week and coincidentally involves the Dallas Philly game. And
what's great, what's been great about our commos over the
past few years. I usually give at least one head
scratch it. But I'm I'm I'm three, you know, like,
are you serious?

Speaker 5 (03:24):
Believe it or not?

Speaker 4 (03:25):
Jason my favorite bet this week, and it folds under
the divisional dogs in week one.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
No, no, no, Bertie, you're going Cowboys.

Speaker 5 (03:32):
I'm going Cowboys plus eight and a half.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
Oh my gosh, I'm in trouble the account. That's not good, Cowboy. Wow,
what do you see that I'm not?

Speaker 5 (03:42):
Well, it's it's a spot play for me.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
You got a couple, You've got technical factors lining up
with fundamental factors. Eighty eight percent of the handle seventy
the bets around the Cowboys. Now when the check that
I said that wrong on the Eagles on the e
and you know, like me and my buddy crack Man
like to say, when the ball's in the air, I
want to be on the side of the books. But
here's what's interesting about this game. Philly is replacing a

(04:09):
lot of pieces on defense, and they're gonna have a
couple of young corners. No more c Gardner Johnson, no
more Darius little place lay. The bottom line is this
this is one of those eyeball games where there's no
pressure play with Hiles's money.

Speaker 5 (04:26):
Brian Shadheimer, I Herd has installed some interesting wrinkles.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
I'm not a Dak fan by any stretch, but he's
good throwing on the move, and George Pickens is going
to help this team, so he's not so seedee lamb
conscious right, And so, without being too long winded, when
you add it all up, divisional till super Bowl champ
coming back, and there's you know, Jason, we've talked about
this for years. This is kind of what got our

(04:49):
relationship going Divisional dogs week one.

Speaker 5 (04:52):
If you've bet him blindly since twenty fourteen seventy there.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
Are eight matchups so that nature this year, and if
they're over six points, the percentage goes up even higher.

Speaker 5 (05:02):
But I've done some more research.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
What if I told you the home field in the
homefield advantage week one is almost out the window in
the NFL going.

Speaker 5 (05:10):
Back five years, actually going back to twenty nineteen.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
Week one home favorites are forty one and fifty three
against the spread, So you're laying a big number.

Speaker 5 (05:21):
It's been all kinds of steam on Philadelphia. I like Dallas.

Speaker 4 (05:25):
They're going to score points this year. They're actually gonna
score points this year, and it's what I call a
quantum physics here. No one cares about them knowing things.
You're going anywhere. They're gonna probably win nine games. They
won seven games last year with that Michigan Sty had
Barney Rubble on the sidelines. And I know they're gonna
miss Michael Parson. Zaki do not, but they stuck with

(05:45):
them and there were three and three Jason in games
without him last year.

Speaker 5 (05:49):
So I really like the Eagles Thursday night. That's the
side I want to be on.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
You cowboys?

Speaker 3 (05:54):
Cowboys?

Speaker 5 (05:55):
What is wrong with me?

Speaker 3 (05:56):
I met listen the excitement.

Speaker 5 (05:59):
Trust me, I haven't been drinking. You're right about the excitement.
You know they've done studies on this.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
Gamblers, we all get high and making the bat, yeah,
actually winning the bat.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
One hundred percent. I totally agree. Now, this did open
at seven. I think, here we go. It ticked it
down to six and a half briefly before the Parsons trade.
Did you see that?

Speaker 3 (06:21):
I mean you could see the biobard like blight. And
now we get back to eight and a half.

Speaker 5 (06:25):
Well, I would have liked it at seven.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
I wanted to see what happened, and sure enough, all
kinds of Oh yeah, Eagles, Monkey has come on just
because of Michael Parson's leaving, and probably just Cowboy eight, right,
But like I said, I like it. I think it's
a value play. This feels like a twenty eight twenty
four tech.

Speaker 5 (06:41):
Game to me.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
I think you're going to see a nice little shootout
and the Cowboys are going to be able to score
points this year.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
My friend, no, I got my son to Dak drafted
Dak Prescott in fantasy because I do think you're right.
The defense is we take a lot of chuck and
duck plate with pickens and lamb.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
Let's move to Friday.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
I think it's South Polo somewhere in Brazil, Kansas City,
and the Chargers Chiefs open two and a half, slightly
juice two and a half, and now it looks like
it's three. Pretty much everywhere looks like it. Maybe it's
headed to three and a half. Let me ask you
about this. So obviously we know that minus one ten

(07:18):
is pretty standard. Minus one twenty is some juice. But
like Pinnacle, as we record, this is minus two and
a half Chiefs minus one thirty two, So essentially that's
a slightly juiced three is it not, Well.

Speaker 5 (07:33):
It is.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
What they're basically saying, is this what Pinnacle is saying
is they've taken a lot of money on the Chiefs.
They don't want to run up to three because they
don't want to get middle er sided. So so someone
can come back, come back on three with the Chiefs,
so professional can come back and do that.

Speaker 5 (07:48):
One of the things to know, just a quick tangent
here when a book posts the line, especially here in Vegas,
I hear this all the time.

Speaker 4 (07:56):
Well, Vegas says is Vegas predicts that we're not in
the prediction business. Vegas is not fortune telling business. Vegas
is in the minimize risk, maximize profit business.

Speaker 5 (08:06):
So they put up a line, it becomes a market line.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
When the market speaks, they'll move either way because they
want to create as much equal.

Speaker 5 (08:12):
Action on both sides.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
So what Pinnacle has done is they've obviously taken a
lot of money on the Chiefs. They're not going to
run it to three. They'll just juice it up to
you a higher price so they can get the best.

Speaker 5 (08:23):
Of both world as it work.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
I mean, there's there's no reason to go against reading
Mahomes in September, in week one, like I just I
don't need to do that. I can enjoy this game.
I can root Chargers, but I don't need to. For me,
I don't need to bet this game, and I certainly
I'm betting on the Chiefs.

Speaker 4 (08:38):
Right, it's a neutral field that to stay away from me.
I've actually seen some three and a halfs out there, Shava.
There's ninety seven sports books here in Vegas. There's apps everywhere, right,
get you, you know, find your best deal. You're a consumer,
get your best deal. There are three and a half's
out there if you like the Chargers. For me, I'll
sit back, have my favorite beverage, watch the game. It
does fall under the one of the eight divisional dogs

(09:01):
Week one, but it's in Brazil neutral field online.

Speaker 5 (09:05):
You just still know. I do think the Chiefs are
gonna be very good this year.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
Okay, I'm not saying they're gonna win fifteen games, but
I expect them to win that division.

Speaker 5 (09:13):
I think they're loaded, and I think they're loaded for bear.
I say that is a verb, not a noun.

Speaker 4 (09:20):
What I mean is I think they're really motivated into
this year based on how the Super Bowl ended, and
I think they got one more in them, but I'm
not gonna.

Speaker 5 (09:26):
Touch that game.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
So New York Giants Sunday they were a seven point
road dog to Jamie Daniels and company. Remember Jameen Daniels
was awesome last year, unbelievable fourth down stuff, great comebacks.
But now laying seven at home, I know the Giants stink,
but that defensive front is gonna keep them in games.
The number is going down from seven, I see a

(09:50):
five and a half six. I think to play if
you are interested. The New York Giants is not a
bad side here, it's an.

Speaker 5 (09:58):
Excellent side now.

Speaker 4 (09:59):
I liked it and said and I played a half
a union on the Giants at seven. They're actually one
of my surprise teams this year, Jason. They're twenty two
to one. They're twenty two to one to win the East.
Every year, by the way, since the division's re aligned
in twenty oh two, we've had at least one except
for one year, team go.

Speaker 5 (10:18):
From worse to first.

Speaker 4 (10:18):
No, not predicting the Giants are going to go from
wors to first, but I am predicting they're going to
be very competitive and they're going to be a surprise team.

Speaker 5 (10:25):
Here's an on ball statistic, but I think it matters.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
There's only been seven teams in the last seventeen years
that outscore their opponents in the preseason but.

Speaker 5 (10:33):
Sixty points or more. All of those seven teams six made.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
The playoffs at average eleven wins in the season and
during a sixteen game season. The Giants did it this
last year. All of those seven teams, Russell Wilson played
for two of them. Currently he's a starting quarterback for
the Giants. I think the Giants under Brian Dable are
going to be competitive. They look to me like a
team that's going to give everybody a run for their money,
and when you bet against them, you'll pay attacks. That's

(10:59):
a heavy line one and another divisional game. So I
got the Giants plus seven for happy unit.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
I think Rob g loves your Giant stats. He's all
over that that preseason point differential. Cincinnati Cleveland is another one.
Cincinnati was laying.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
By the way.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
I go to the I don't know where you go
for years, but I go to the Donbest dot com site,
and they basically you can just you know, Caesar's Sports
Book Circle, whatever, Pinnacle, and you can you can look
at where things have gone.

Speaker 3 (11:28):
So this one opened.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Cincinnati minus six, it's down to five, five and a
half depending where you are. Listen, Cleveland's been a disaster
all off season with the Shador nonsense, Joe Flacco, Kendy Pickett,
Dylan Gabriel.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
It's just been a.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
Mess, and a lot of people like Cincinnati to do
major things this year with Burrow Higgins and Chase and
by the way, Chase Brown's not bad either. I would
go Cleveland, but I just I don't know. Talk me
into the divisional dog.

Speaker 5 (12:00):
Well again, it's an interdivisional dog.

Speaker 4 (12:03):
Half a unit on Cleveland, but I got the plus
six these games being played in Cleveland. Now, Cincinnati has
been a notoriously slow start of the last three years.
They're telling us they're not going to be that this year.
Why don't tell me? Show me right that backdoor is
going to stay open. And I think Cleveland week one,
you know, And one of the reasons divisional docts are

(12:24):
so good Week one is because teams started full strength. Well,
teams are one hundred percent healthy, They're still optimistic. Depression
hasn't said in yet. When you started to lose games,
coaches have months to prepare for in game plan, and
there's more familiarity with the division.

Speaker 5 (12:39):
So Cleveland can hang around on that game. By the way,
digress for one second.

Speaker 4 (12:42):
One of the reasons I like Dallas Brandon Aubrey can
make field goals from the parking lot, so anywhere. You know,
some of their drives they're going to end up with
three points, and so those still have a way of adding.

Speaker 5 (12:52):
Up when you get in eight and a half points.
Same situation with Cleveland. They're not that bad. Two years
ago they won eleven.

Speaker 4 (12:59):
Games your complete dumpster fire. We saw what happened Week
one Divisional in interstate divisional rival. By the way, that
again feels to me like a twenty one to seventeen
Tech game, don't.

Speaker 5 (13:10):
It's gonna be a wrestling match.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Yeah, it's That's an interesting one because like if you're
scripting an opponent for Joe Flacco to start against, it
would be a bottom five defense.

Speaker 4 (13:21):
You know.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
I know they have Trey Hendrickson still in Cincinnati, but
they don't have much else. They couldn't stop anybody last year,
even backup quarterbacks had their way with it. So I
do think Cleveland can be spicy in this spot. It's
just like, it's one thing to go against Jaden Daniels,
it's another to go against Joe Burrow. I personally like Burrow.
I think he's freaking incredible, so it's tough for me
to lay it, but I'm probably gonna have in some way,

(13:43):
shape or for money on Cleveland. Let's see another divisional matchup.
Tampa favored in Atlanta. I like the Falcons a lot
this year, probably irrationally. So this was two and a half.
It's still two and a half.

Speaker 3 (13:56):
Falcons had a big.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
Injury that not a lot of people are talked about,
the right tackle, which because they have a lefty quarterback,
essentially is your left tackle, and he's out for the season.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
I do like.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
Atlanta here in this spot at home, I'm bullish on
the Falcons this year. What say you, Bernie.

Speaker 4 (14:12):
If this game was Week eight or nine, I'd probably
really like Tampa Bay.

Speaker 5 (14:17):
But it's week one, so I do like Atlanta.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
The breaking into a new offensive is a coordinator here
in Dallas, big loss with Liam Cohen. Some of the
Rod threes he ran, if you remember that was one
of your head scratchers last week. I thought the better
of the month was Week two Tampa Bay at Detroit
getting seven. They beat him out, right, Liam Cohen, people
know who he is now. It's got a head coaching job, right.
I love this Atlanta team. The only unknown factor is
how will Michael Pennix being out that they got him

(14:41):
on the film. But Atlanta plays ball in all three phases. Again,
they're getting points. You can't go against the divisional dog
Week one trend since twenty fourteen. If history prevails, you're
gonna win five point six of those eight games this year.
If you win five out of eight, well you can
make as much money as.

Speaker 5 (14:59):
You want to make. Light lean to Atlanta here.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
So the problem is with the divisional dog theory. I
really like Green Bay at home. So I went to
Vegas to sign up for CIRCA and I bet two
Week one games Packers and Falcons, and I you know
the whole Hey, Detroit, they lost the coordinators. I don't
think the Detroit defense is any good. The last time

(15:24):
I saw them, they got their teeth kicked in by
Washington because Joe Jared Goff couldn't do anything. This was
before the Parsons straight. But I like the Packers a
lot this year. Are you riding with Detroit.

Speaker 4 (15:34):
In this Well, this is a really tough game for
a lot of reasons. You mentioned the two coordinators gone,
I'm so plugged into Detroit, don't. They've kept the same terminology,
the same system everybody forgot.

Speaker 5 (15:48):
I SA, I don't think it's gonna be as big
of a drop off. Are they in fifteen games? No,
but I think they're gonna be eleven and six, maybe
twelve and five. They've had Green Bay's number the pants
for years. They've they've they've rode green but.

Speaker 4 (15:59):
They have got stick and I think I think you
got a situation here. A lot of pressure at Lambellfield
Week one. Jordan Love. I like the guy a lot.
He's turiver prone in big games. The Lions are healthy again,
they're really reved up, and I'm giving you kind of
a lot of problem here. This is a tough game
to pick because of because it's opening day, and it's

(16:21):
a divisional game and it's at lambeau Field. Gun to
my head, I'd probably roll with the Lions, but I
haven't done anything with it.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
The Lions of You're right, they've won five of six
in this series. Last year they won by ten and three,
and then the year prior fourteen?

Speaker 3 (16:41):
Is that a Dan Campbell thing? Is that a talent now?

Speaker 4 (16:43):
Is it?

Speaker 3 (16:44):
Ben Jon?

Speaker 5 (16:44):
It's a thing? I think you know.

Speaker 4 (16:46):
Look, look if you remember Jason the second half of
the game in Thanksgiving last year, the Bears moving ball
up and down the field of will. It wasn't because
Caleb Wins and Matt Eberflus figured anything out. The Lions
were down to the nubs on defense to call a
space of spade. They had eleven guys on injury reserve
that had started at one time or another on defense

(17:07):
and the accumulative effect of that. He looked at the
Lions defensive metric numbers in December and the playoffs didn't
resemble anything in the first nine weeks of the season
when they were healthy. They're back healthy and it's Week one,
So I think it's a bit of a slight talent mismatch.
I know everybody's high in Green Bay. They're a real
trendy pit as and for good reason. But in this spot,
I think you're going to really get max at for

(17:28):
the Lions, just like he did two years ago on
the opening night at Kansas City when they pulled it out.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
Remembers ago yeah, sorry, go ahead, finish out.

Speaker 4 (17:38):
Sorry the week though, the week, the week one Thursday
Night game two years ago, when they went to Kansas
City and pulled it out.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
That's me, right, Yeah, now that game.

Speaker 4 (17:46):
To me, and you know what, everybody's riding the Lions off.
Watch out for the Lions this year. I think they're
going to make alb.

Speaker 2 (17:52):
I think Chris Jones missed that game of memory serves
he did.

Speaker 5 (17:55):
He did, he did miss that game. You're you're exactly right.
I think I missed.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
Yes, a good point, but they went in and got
it done.

Speaker 5 (18:05):
You play who gets off the bus? You can't, you know, yeah, you.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
Can't, no excuses.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
Play like a champion. I do like a wedding crashers
slash downder dame over seventy six or yeah, I think.

Speaker 3 (18:16):
It's seventy six.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
Good call, good call.

Speaker 3 (18:18):
I do like a big favor Bernie.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
I'm sorry. Arizona Cardinals minus six and a half. And
again this is kind of narrative driven. The Saint stink.
I mean, you look at any.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
Metric, they're like thirty two in talent.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
Arguably the worst starting quarterback in Week one, new quarterback,
a new head coach, sorry in Kellam Moore, and.

Speaker 3 (18:35):
I like Arizona.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
If you like offense, I mean you look at Harrison
McBride and Connor. That trio is I would say, top
five in the league. When you look at wide receiver,
tight ended running back, Kyler Murray just shows up. Remember
Arizona pulled a big upset last year week one. I
forget which game it was. You have a better memory
than me, so you might remember it. But Arizona had

(18:58):
a big upset in Week one. Like them to make
a big, big statement in week one.

Speaker 5 (19:03):
Your thoughts, Yes, we're in total agreement there.

Speaker 4 (19:07):
I love what Jonathan Gannon has done with this team,
with their culture, with their defense, and as long as
Kyler Murray is healthy, this is going to be another
surprise team.

Speaker 5 (19:17):
Do I think they're going to win the NFC West?
Probably not. Do I think they're gonna be right there
fighting for a playoff spot? Probably?

Speaker 4 (19:24):
Listen, somehow Spencer Rattler won the job that offense couldn't
score in a women's prison with a.

Speaker 5 (19:31):
Fifteen full of fifties.

Speaker 4 (19:33):
John, this feels like a twenty seven to ten game
written all over it, Jason, Honest to god, So I
made the line nine.

Speaker 5 (19:40):
I think you're solid. Listen, every now and then you
just see a solid mismatch. Okay.

Speaker 4 (19:45):
And one of the misnomers in betting is, you know,
pros don't just bet dogs, they'll bet favorites because sometimes
you get a bargain on a favorite. And I think
this is a bad line. It's a market inefficient line.
People don't know how bad.

Speaker 5 (19:59):
The Saints Harry had until the season starts. They're bad. Yeah,
they're bad, and so I think you know you've got
you've got to.

Speaker 4 (20:09):
Gosh, wait, I just lost my transfer. The bottom line
is home Umpinger, they'll be all fired up. I feel
like they beat him by ten or more.

Speaker 2 (20:17):
So it's correction on my part. I said the Cardinals
won in week when they did not they covered. If
you remember they were at Buffalo, they were a they
were a six and a half point dogs and they
lost by six, So Arizona covered. I'm sorry in Week
one last year, a little correction on.

Speaker 5 (20:36):
Coach.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
Yeah, and then they came out the next week. Remember
they smoked the Rams forty one. Yeah, it's like, oh
they listen, they were six and four mid season. They
just could not figure out the Seahawks last year.

Speaker 4 (20:47):
Has to stay healthy and they need to get Marvin
Harrison Junior more involved, which they will.

Speaker 2 (20:53):
Let's see here, what else we got Sunday? Uh, well,
I don't know Ravens Bills. That's just a game. I'm
not betting that Sunday Night football. I mean, maybe I
can find a prop. It's a great game. I don't
see others in a line.

Speaker 4 (21:03):
It's a nice light coozie line at home for a
good Buffalo team. They're better games than the border. This
is one thing I'd give the top credit for. You know,
you don't have to bet every game on the board. Yeah,
so to find your spots. One of the biggest things
to get better into trouble is money management. Okay, bank
roll management. Protect your bankroll, you know, and that means
the amount you bet on games and don't not chasing

(21:25):
and not having to bet every game just because it's
on TV.

Speaker 5 (21:28):
This is Sunday Night. This is one of those chase
games for people who lost.

Speaker 4 (21:31):
Right, If you have a hankering, this might be we
haven't talked about this yet, might be a good teaser. Geez,
Baltimore up im, pair of them with someone like Seattle
at home where you're crossing.

Speaker 5 (21:43):
The key numbers are three, four, six, and seven.

Speaker 4 (21:46):
You get right. Seattle is a real trendy pick. I
like the Niners this year. I think they're gonna be
very I think they might win that division. But they're
laying the line is now down to one.

Speaker 5 (21:54):
And a half.

Speaker 4 (21:55):
It was the highest two and a half I think
when it opened at Seattle. So you find a dance
partner with Baltimore and ride it as a teaser.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
That's not bad now, you said teaser. In my mind
instantly went to Denver, Tennessee eight and a half. Denver
down to one and a half. I'd like to everybody
knows what teasers you want to go through? Seven and
three or either down or up. So Denver, I'd love
to get Denver down to one. I mean, I think
they're okay against cam Ward in the open eye Mark Sanchez,

(22:25):
that's another.

Speaker 4 (22:25):
Saying rookies starting week one in the NFL, fading those rookies,
Oh my goodness, is it's money?

Speaker 5 (22:31):
It's money?

Speaker 2 (22:32):
Yeah, I forgot about the rookie starting week one and
then altitude. But Mark Sanchez was on the herd and
he's calling this game, and you know we're talking and
he's like, yeah, I'm so excited to go out there
because you read a bunch of stuff and you you know,
and I think everybody knows Tennessee. Like listen, man, it
isn't just basic one on one Patrick Shirtan, I'm gonna
follow around Calvin Ridley.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
Who else is beating you in Tennessee right now?

Speaker 2 (22:56):
There are number two guys like Van Jefferson, you know,
the tight end are gonna be able to do Jack
Denver as great linebackers. And I like Tony Pollard a
lot this year in fantasy, but he's gonna be running
into a brick wall.

Speaker 5 (23:06):
So I don't.

Speaker 3 (23:07):
I like Callahan. I like Tennessee this year, I just
don't like him in the opener. Any thoughts on that.

Speaker 5 (23:13):
Game or yeah, you're starting, can't you? Good on you?
I knew that I was going to bring it up.

Speaker 4 (23:19):
Cam Ward rookies traditionally in the NFL struggling in the
first start, but when they start, when they start Week
one on the road, it's a playoff type team. That's
a recipe for not good. I don't really want to
lay it in a half right in that game, but
you tease that down to one and a half. That's
a nice cozy number. What Sean McVeigh and bow Knicks

(23:40):
and the company did last year in Denver was not
a fluke. They're they're for real. So Tennessee could be
in for a very long day that day. That was
because Buffalo, Buffalo Baltimore. If you take a look at
a teacher. By the way, don't even think about taking
Buffalo teacher. You never cross over zero in a teaser, never, ever, ever, ever,
don't think about it. So the only side there is

(24:02):
to teas Baltimore up.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
I don't know Miami, Indy. I don't really have anything there.
I'm a little surprised that Miami's a dog. But two
good offensive mines feels like a nip and tuck game.
But Jacksonville, Carolina is interesting. I'm irrationally high on Liam Cohen,
as you said at the outset, and Trevor Lawrence, Travis Hunter,
Brian Thomas. I think this offense is gonna cook. I

(24:28):
just don't know if this is the year for Bryce Young.
So I like Jacksonville, but it seems like that might
be the most public play on Sunday.

Speaker 5 (24:36):
I had not heard that.

Speaker 4 (24:38):
I have to look into that I like what Bryce
Young did, and again I don't think that was a fluke.
It just took him a little bit of time. He
plays the position with his eyes. It's just stay away
a game for me, because you can make a case
for both sides of the Line's probably about right where
it should be. I just think there's better games on
the board. But to the larger issue, I think Bryce
Young is gonna have a good year.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
Yeah all right, so Bernie Big, make sure we can
wrap up. I'm just curious where you think this NFL
season heads. Again, last year, nobody had Denver going to
the playoffs, right, Nobody had the Eagles smashing the Chiefs.
I don't think many people had Washington being in the
NFC championship. Much as the playoffs, every year we get
some wacky, crazy shit. Do you have anything that jumps

(25:20):
off the page EU for us?

Speaker 4 (25:22):
Yeah, I actually think I had to think long and
hard about this, but actually the New England Patriots are
gonna make some serious noise. Oh this year, they're not
going to un see Buffalo. But it's not a zero
that they make the playoffs.

Speaker 5 (25:35):
Every year.

Speaker 4 (25:35):
Typically six teams who made the playoffs year before don't
the following year, and vice versa. The Pats have the
easiest strength of schedule in the entire AFC.

Speaker 5 (25:45):
Easiest.

Speaker 4 (25:47):
You've got a renewed culture and a completely revamped for roster.
You've got Drake Man a second year. I expect big
things out of m and I like what Mike Grabel's
no nonsense approach is doing there. They get the Raiders
week one. Don't buy Raiders. I'm sorry, I just cannot
buy in.

Speaker 5 (26:03):
The Raiders hide every year, Oh Raiders, Raiders.

Speaker 4 (26:05):
His team's ready to win, and by the end of September,
you know, they deflate faster than a Tijuana Preston plant.
So the bottom line is this New England to start
out one and all, I think they're going to be
very competitive. I think the Niners I don't want on
a land in city Niners win that division. They'll be
the last to first team that does it.

Speaker 5 (26:23):
This year.

Speaker 4 (26:24):
Again, they've got the easiest drenth to schedule in the
entire NFL.

Speaker 5 (26:28):
Defensively, they bring back Robert Solibak. I'm hearing good things.

Speaker 4 (26:31):
He's still got star power, Nick Bolsa, Fred Warner, McCaffrey's back, healthy,
rock Perty is better than I think he gets way
better he gets credit for. And I like Shanahan. I
think I look for them to bounce back. So crazy,
maybe New England could be considered crazy. I'll just jump
right to the chase. I think your Buffalo's right.

Speaker 5 (26:50):
I think your super Bowl is going to be Buffalo
in Detroit.

Speaker 4 (26:53):
I really believe that Ravens and Eagles are really Detroit.

Speaker 2 (26:57):
Yeah, wow, I haven't heard anybody say they're going to
the super Bowl and who are they playing?

Speaker 5 (27:03):
Buffalo?

Speaker 4 (27:04):
And I think Buffalo will prevail. The game will be
in San Francisco. Buffalo's had their number.

Speaker 5 (27:09):
The Detroit was really good tears Ago, Buffalo went in
there on Thanksgiving. They're going in a couple of times.
They just have their number.

Speaker 4 (27:15):
But yeah, I think it's finally, finally Buffalo's year, while
I think the world of Kansas City.

Speaker 5 (27:22):
They're gonna have to go on.

Speaker 4 (27:23):
The road when a couple playoff games again this year
to get to the super Bowl, They're not gonna do it.

Speaker 5 (27:27):
It's always something with Lamar Jackson and the Ravens. They
told us last year, well we just needed a running game.
So they get Dereck Henry no edvery a day and
walking through that.

Speaker 4 (27:36):
Dover Niters ray Lewis Baltimore would be good, will be
the most disappointing thirteen and fourteen again in the playoffs,
and it's just simply gonna happen.

Speaker 5 (27:44):
I think Buffalo's very poised.

Speaker 2 (27:47):
Yeah, I'm kind of with you. I like the Bills
a lot. Bernie Frotto, Fox Sports Radio, straight out of it.
I mean, the guy is in Vegas, absolutely cooking with gambling.
We got to have you on again mid season, you know,
assuming you don't make more, you don't make powerball type
money and just vanish off the grid.

Speaker 3 (28:03):
Bernie prodo follow him on social media. Thanks again, buddy,
Thank you.

Speaker 5 (28:07):
Jason appreciated.

Speaker 1 (28:08):

dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to

couch watching the games. He's making money while you do it.

(28:29):
Here's your best bet.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
Great stuff from my guy, Bernie Frotto. He's so good, funny,
he's got the material. It is troubling that we are
on opposite sides now. It's interesting because I got the
six and a half with the Eagles earlier. He if
you can get an eight and a half, I mean,
that's pretty good, and the chances of you getting both
it lands on a seven. That's not bad. Books could

(28:55):
get middled there. If you want to get exotic, you
could tease the Eagles down from eight eight and a
half to one one and a half. Pair that with
the Broncos that feels like a slam dunk, or pair
that with let's see what else there is. I love
a good teaser. How about h Well, I don't like
the Commanders. As we're watching this down Broncos up to nine,

(29:16):
I'm guessing the parlays and teasers are rolling in and
they trying to mitigate risk there. If you think the
Texans defense can get frisky against Stafford, maybe tease them
up to ten. I'm fairly certain Buffalo is not getting
blown out at home on Sunday night football. So a
lot of teaser options. How about this problem? I don't
know if I can interest you in this. So you know,

(29:37):
I did all my fantasy drafts and I noticed that
not a lot of people drafted. You know, there's this
thing called handcuffing in fantasy where you if you get
the star running back Christian McCaffrey, you've got to get
his handcuff in the event that he gets injured. You
don't want someone profiting off your McCaffrey because you didn't

(29:58):
get the backup. I'm just telling you, guys, Will Shipley,
for whatever reason, nobody's taken him. Everybody thinks like Dak Prescott.
I sorry, not Dak Prescott. Robb Saquon Barkley's made of steel. Again.
I believe the number was four hundred and eighty two
total touches last season, including the playoffs, rushes and receiving.
That is a massive workload. If you look at the

(30:19):
depth chart that the team released, Will Shipley is their
number two back. Now that doesn't mean that they're not
going to give AJ Dillon the occasional carry. But Will
Shipley's kind of got some juice. He's out a Clemson
in some blowouts last year, he was able to get loose.
And yeah, he's not terrible. I mean, this guy's fourth
round pick. I know, white running back not very popular,

(30:41):
but for instance, he had four carries for seventy seven
yards in the NFC Championship, had the long touchdown. He
had a decent game against Dallas last time. He had
nine carries in the opener. Oh sorry, the Week eight
team game against the Giants ten carries thirty two yards
when they were filling in. He can also catch passes.
I am going to just take a flyer, you know,

(31:01):
a tiny bet, just for fun, action play as they
like to call it. Will Shipley anytime touchdown plus seven
oh one. The thought process, Now, maybe you like Dylan
because if they're at the two and Saquon just carried
four times and he needs a breather, they pull him.
I'm just curious. Is there a world where the Eagles

(31:21):
come into the season saying we are going to be
very cautious with our superstar running back. You know, there's
there's a long season we want to repeat. We need
Barkley healthy. He can't sniff three hundred and seventy three
hundred and fifty carries. It's got to be a way
less workload because back to back he's getting up there
in age. He's got a history of injuries. If I
were you, I'm grabbing Will Shipley in fantasy and I
put a couple bucks on him plus seven oh one

(31:43):
anytime touchdown in the season opener. The other one I
was looking at was Dak over passing yards. I'm seeing
it at lined at two forty nine. A two fifty
feels light if you believe Bernie, and this is going
to be a shootout with Dak throw until the final gun.
There is a world where the underhits, So there's a

(32:04):
lot of stuff at play. Just keep the powder dry.
It's a long season, all right. We are back tomorrow
recapping the game best bets for the weekend. Uh, we're
so fortunate, folks. Talk to you tomorrow.
