It's a beautiful, lovely Wednesday, middle of the week. Not
a whole hell of a lot happening except five quarterbacks.
Apparently we'll be down this week in the NFL. And

oh my god, this is what's so depressing about. I mean,
we're in week three in football, right. We wait all
we wait, what February to September? We wait seven months
for the season to start, and here we are in
week three and the following quarterbacks are already hurt. Brock
Purty definitely out with turf till, Justin Field's likely out

with a concussion. JJ McCarthy out two to four weeks
with an ankle. Joe Burrow so surgery on toe, out
three months. Jaden Daniels knee questionable for the Big Raiders
game on Sunday. Listen out. I'm not here to rank
the ten quarterbacks in the league for you, but I

can tell you, without a question, without a shadow of
a doubt, Joe Burrow's in the top ten. Jaden Daniels.
I know it's just one season, but he looked like
a top ten quarterback and for my money, brock Perty
is in the top ten. So three of the ten
best quarterbacks in the league already likely down for the count,
and Daniels has the best shot to play because it's

a knee. And I will just explain it this way.
If you look at Washington's schedule, this is actually a
good spot for him to just sit and heal. Remember
they played last Thursday, right, and it's a matchup against
the Raiders, who are going to be wobbly. Right, Raiders
played on Monday night football. Then they have to travel
to DC. And I'm not saying Marcus Mariota could definitely

get the job done. But given the fact that the
line went down from six to three, I think it
seems like the market is telling you, hey, Jayden Daniels
probably not gonna play. It's a non conference game. If
you lose, it's not the end of the world, because
guess what tiebreakers in the conference matter. And the following
week they've got the Atlanta Falcons. And you guys know,

I'm bullish on the Falcons. I like them a lot.
This week against Carolina on the road line is soaring.
And if Washington can't catch Philly in the division and
they're battling Atlanta for the wildcard, Bert that head to
head much up is gonna be enormous. So I my
gut is telling me they may roll with Marcus Mariota
this week. I mean, listen, Marcus Mariota, as old as

you like to think he is, he's not that old.
Remember him and Jamis went Jamis went one and Mariota
went two in the draft a decade ago. So Mariota
feels like he's been around forever. He's only thirty one.
Oh my gosh, turns thirty two in October. He had
that early run in Tennessee and then kind of petered out.

Started most No, no, he didn't actually start much with
the Yeah, he was a backup in Vegas with the
Raiders during COVID, then Atlanta, then Philly then washed it.
So you know, listen, I think if you're just planning
for a game Cliff Kingsbury, since he had Mariota last year,
I don't think there's a steep learning curve for him

to jump in a spot start against the defense. That's
nothing special. You know, Drake May did okay things. Justin
Herbert was pretty flawless on Monday. So I think there's
a spot where you probably sit Jaden Daniels just out
of an abundance of caution. You know, these quarterbacks men,
you can't have him go down. It's just stinks. It's

like in the NBA playoffs when Tyrese Haliburton goes down,
Well that was a finals, you know, game shit, that
was Game seven. But historically, you know, Jeph Curry right
with the Warriors, Game one, Warriors Timberwolves, Curry goes down,
Warriors were able to win, but you knew without Curry,
there's there's nothing here, like what am I doing? And

it's it's kind of a tough sell. Hey, Monday, Sorry,
Sunday one pm Eastern time. Feel the excitement Geno Smith
versus Marcus Mariota, Like, that's just that does nothing for me.
I'm sorry, Maybe you get excited about it. I just
that's not a game that has me like, oh, I

got to check that one out. And backup quarterbacks tend
to do that. Like if the Jets have to start
Tyrod Taylor, I don't even know, honestly, guys, I don't
even know that that's a game that I'm like gonna
focus on. It's it's It would be a pure red
zone Sunday move for me. The JJ McCarthy one was
interesting because I thought this was a get right spot

for McCarthy going up. Finally, he does not have a
primetime start, kind of buried in the deck at one
PM when there's a ton of other games and he's
at home against a Bengals defense that's not very good
or threatening. Like McCarthy could have cooked those guys. I mean,
Trevor Lawrence look good against them, Joe Flacco looked competent

against them, and then you saw Flacco against the Ravens
like total nothing right. So the Bengals defense is not good.
It would have been a great spot for McCarthy. He's
out and now two to four weeks enter Carson Wentz.
So obviously, with Joe Burrow out, here's the bat matchup
one o'clock Sunday. You know what, we'll go through all
the quarterback matchups. I hadn't thought of this, but we'll
do it anyway. So Jets Bucks is justin Fields versus
(05:34):
Baker Mayfield. Then you've got Jake Browning versus Carson Wentz, Like,
that's not exciting. I had thought I liked the Vikings there.
I've kind of backed off now I got to look
at Wentz. Wentz by the way, sixth team in six years.
That's ridiculous for a guy who briefly was like in
the MVP lead I think in his second or third

year in the league in Philly. And then it's Drake
may Aaron Rodgers, Daniel Jones, cam Ward CJ. Stroud, Trevor Lawrence.
These are one PM games, folks, Michael Pennox, Bryce Young
and the best one PM game by a mile is

Matt Stafford versus Jalen Hurts. Oh and there's there's two more.
Oh my gosh, Jordan Love versus Joe Flacco a Marcus Mariotto,
Gino Spent. Those are bad, bad quarterback matchups. Fortunately get
Stafford Hurts, which is a great game. I did take
the Rams plus three and a half there. I know
they're on the road. I do need to I haven't
checked to see if the Rams stayed east. Remember they

faced Tennessee. Can you call Tennessee the East? I think
it's the East coast. It's not quite the Midwest. It's
not the Is it the South? It might be the South.
I mean, I know that they play in the SEC.
But when you think of Nashville, I guess you probably
do think the South. But you know what I'm talking
in terms of football, Philadelphia obviously East. You think of

Nashville as But at any rate, those one pm games
not great. They do have four games at four o'clock
Broncos Chargers is gonna be excellent. I like the Seahawks
a lot against Spencer Rattler. By the way, Spencer Rattler,
I know people are saying he hasn't been terrible. Just
look at the spray chart on next Gen Stats. It's

all short stuff. He's not throwing deep nothing. And the
problem is when he falls behind, how you come back.
And it's one thing against Arizona and San fran it's
another against Seattle on the road. By the way, Arizona
and San FRANI he played those games, guys at home.
Now he has to go on the road. Haven't checked
the weather. I don't think it does it rain there
in September. It rains there all the time. Just kidding.

I think that Seattle defense really wakes up. They should
get Witherspoon back. I don't know how the Saints really
moved the football there. But we'll see Arizona San Frans good.
And then the Marquee matchup, which is better on paper
than an actual game, is Dallas and Chicago with Dak
Prescott going up against Caleb Williams, who, for whatever reason,

man Caleb Williams. Jeez, he is getting beat up in
the national media, and I'm like, kind of, I don't
think they're a good team. I don't think they're that
interesting to me. I'm kind of over the Caleb Williams things.
Sunday night football is Chiefs at Giants, and then Monday
is Detroit Baltimore. It's weird the when I frame it
like that and you pull the quarterbacks out, It's like, jeez,
is there any good teams in this league? Folks? Every

power rating you look at, there's basically four elite teams
right now, Bill's Ravens, Eagles, Packers. Now you could put
the Chargers in that class. Yeah, I don't care that
the Bengals are two to zero without Joe Burrow. They're
not elite. Sorry, that's just how the world works. I
don't think Detroit because they hung fifty on the Bears

is elite. They could get there, but I don't think
they're elite. The only team I think that as a
legit claim is the Charge. But we'll see kind of
what they're made of this week facing Denver. Chargers obviously
beat the Chiefs. I don't think the Chiefs are good.
So you know, you get all these backup quarterbacks. I

just it's just not as exciting, at least from my
point of view.

was going to be drafted by the Ravens the fifth round,

Lamar Jackson. He's young. I wouldn't get any playing time. Yeah,
I'm good. Thanks, And then the Browns drafted Shadure standers
in the fifth round. So, first of all, if we
are to believe this, and I should at this point say,
Chadur didn't exactly deny it. He did say, like, hey,

anything in the past and whatever happened in the past,

you are a big deal coming out of film school.

the one movie studio with the great reputation and the
history and the ownership and the leadership just because you're
not gonna get an opportunity now? And you want to go.
Oh I gotta go. I'm willing to go to a
crappy organization with poor leadership just so I could get
my shot. Now, would you make that decision? Listen, this

is not any kind of flex or anything, but yes, obviously.
You know, I've been in TV now nine years, been
on various shows, worked with various people, and there have
been some people who have shown interest in a in
a Jason, when are you gonna get your own show?
You know, would you like one? Blah blah blah. I'm
not just jumping. I'm not desperate to get my own show.

If it's a great fit and the right leadership in group, yeah,
I would totally be open to that. I mean there
is a rich history of folks who are like, yeah,
I gotta get my show. I'm not bashing him. I
mean he's made a lot of money. But Bill Simmons
had his shot at a show on HBO. He's like, yeah,
let's do a once a week show or once a
month whatever it was on HBO, and it flopped after

like three episodes and was over. You know, like, you've
got to have the right fit and a good group
that you believe in and buy into That is the
Baltimore Ravens. If you were to put up on a whiteboard,
who were like, maybe you could ask CHATGBT. I'm not
gonna do it. You guys can do it. Hey, who
over the last let's just say twenty five years, make

it even two thousand, in the last twenty five years,
who have been the best run franchises in the NFL. Now,
I don't know how you'd quantify best run, but you know, success,
not changing your coach every year, stability in the organization,
These kind of things matter in the playoffs. Often the

Baltimore Ravens are on the short list for best run franchises.
And yes they have Lamar Jackson, but you know, Lamar
Jackson is like a spindley quarterback. He occasionally gets hurt.
You wouldn't want that opportunity to learn from a two
time MVP, be in the same building as him, be
under the tutelage of John Harbaugh, who by all accounts

as a great coach. Ownership is excellent, GM is excellent.
They draft great. Like it was like, who's telling Shador
screw that you're never gonna play? So what if he
sits for three years? What's the big deal. I mean,
like again, I'm not you don't want to look back
to like the nineteen eighties. But Steve Young went to
the Niners and sat for many years. Aaron Rodgers went

to the Packers, but sat for many years behind Brett Farv.
My home's only sat a year. It's not as common
for folks who sit a long time now. Jordan Love
sat for two years, three years, whatever it was. So
what's the big deal is Shador goes to the Ravens.

but I have zero dollars on that. If you notice,

we've seen through what is two or three games? Yeah,
three games, he's done absolutely nothing. I mean he's completing

or threatening. Like McCarthy could have cooked those guys. I mean,

against them, and then you saw Flacco against the Ravens
like total nothing right. So the Bengals defense is not good.
It would have been a great spot for McCarthy. He's

right now, Bill's Ravens, Eagles, Packers. Now you could put

is elite. They could get there, but I don't think
they're elite. The only team I think that as a
legit claim is the Charge. But we'll see kind of

who have been the best run franchises in the NFL. Now,

Baltimore Ravens are on the short list for best run franchises.
And yes they have Lamar Jackson, but you know, Lamar
Jackson is like a spindley quarterback. He occasionally gets hurt.
You wouldn't want that opportunity to learn from a two
time MVP, be in the same building as him, be
under the tutelage of John Harbaugh, who by all accounts

as a great coach. Ownership is excellent, GM is excellent.
They draft great. Like it was like, who's telling Shador
screw that you're never gonna play? So what if he
sits for three years? What's the big deal. I mean,

the Niners and sat for many years. Aaron Rodgers went
