Speaker 1 (00:01):
This is Take twenty with Mattie and Kenzie Ziegler and
I heart radio podcast. Hey guys. I never know how
that's the go to Hey guys, Hey girl. Um, So
we kind of just wanted to do a life update
(00:23):
and kind of just talk to you guys. I feel
like we always have a specific topic and I feel
like this one's kind of just gonna be like more
chill and it's reckless. It's the start to the new year. Like,
I feel like we kind of just need to chat.
I'd love a good vent. I'm like, are you okay? No,
(00:43):
I mean they're mine? No. Um. Yeah. So it's we
are a couple of weeks into the new year, and
I would say it's been it's it's been pretty good.
Like like personally, I've been like anxious, sound weird, but
like okay, yeah, I feel like that's nothing new. No.
(01:05):
But I it was nice though, because over the break
we went to Pittsburgh and like we were there for
Christmas and it was really fun and we got to
see our brothers. I was there for three weeks, so
that was yeah. But it was nice to just like
take a break for a little bit and not work
and then we played a lot of sims. Yes, we did.
(01:27):
We What else did we do? Well? At home? We
have a golf cart and Maddie's boyfriend came home. My
boyfriend came home with us and Eddie. I loved that
golf cart. He would drive it like he was he was, yeah,
he's crazy, but um yeah, I mean I feel like
(01:50):
we kind of just made the most of the trip,
like we did nothing and that's all we needed to do.
But sometimes it's like really good to do that. But
then once we got back. I got back a few
days before Kenzie did, and I was super bored, and
then I was like really wanting to hang out with
Kenzie when she got back. And then you were like
I was like, what are you doing? You're like nothing.
(02:10):
Do you want to come over and hang out? I'm like,
yeah I do. And she's like, also, do you want
to clean my entire closet? And obviously, like I love organization,
and so I asked you because at that time, but
then I was in my head, I was like, does
she only want me for my organization skills? No? We
hung out, Yeah, we did. We hung out for like
(02:32):
a majority of the time, and we put your apartment
together or we okay, well that was confusing. Well, so
basically what we did she came over, we cleaned up
my entire closet, and then Maddie was like, do you
just want to go like furniture shopping but not actually
furniture shopping, like because everyone knows I talked about it
(02:53):
all the time. I'm moving out this year, ba la
la la whatever. Um. But Maddie and I we put
together like not what are they called like a food board,
but no, but like basically we just put down the
items that we wanted to get, which is basically like
(03:13):
we did a vision board. What is it called, like
a mood board. We did a mood board for like
the dining room, and we literally put together all the
pieces that we think are going to go into dining room.
But then I was thinking, it's just going to also
depend on your space, so we might have to change
a few things. Yeah, but it's perfect. What we did
is perfect and that will be it. I know, I'm
(03:33):
so excited to help you decorate, like because decorating my
apartment was so much fun. Like I'm so nervous to
decorate mine because when I like go shopping, I get
so overwhelmed because I'm like, oh, but I want this,
and I want this and I want this. You're just
like this is cute, point blank period. That's it. Yeah,
that's true. That's true. That's why it's nice to have you,
(03:55):
because then I can help you make your mind up
a bit. Yeah, I'm very into I'm very into sisive
so yeah, but so my. But when it comes to
like decor and stuff, that's a bit easier for me
because I have a very strict vision in my head. Well,
and you know, like you know me so well that
I feel you kidding, I feel like you know me
(04:16):
better than I know myself. Yeah, you know what, You're
gonna want a colored couch. I just knew it. And well, yeah,
you know what I was thinking about. I'm like, oh
my gosh, am I going to decorate her apartment than
I decorated mine. Your apartment will never be topped. No,
that's not never, you guys. I wish you could just
(04:39):
like sit in her apartment. It is just the most
like the floors are need vacuumed, but it's just like
such a warm feeling. Thanks. Once I get my rug
that I've waited forever for, that'll really tie it all together.
And I've lived here for over a year and I
still I just ordered a rug last week, but that's okay.
(05:00):
I just was waiting for the perfect one, you know, right.
It's one of those things where you have to just
take your time if you want to, like really love everything.
I could have easily got a rug, but I didn't.
Like Maddie keeps being like, just move into my apartment,
and I'm like, no, I can't, because if I decorate it,
I will decorate it the same exact way. It will
not get out true. No, because okay, picture this really
(05:24):
use your minds, you, guys, because no one can see
this isn't I'm able to show you visually. But everyone
listening is just going to have to really listen. Really,
I just picture it in their own way. This episode
just about apartments now, but maybe go ahead. We're we're
actually starting our own show, a home renovation ship. Imagine
(05:44):
we should, though I would be so down to that.
Um so okay, forever for reference, guys, you walk into
my apartment, the kitchens like to the right. When you
walk in, you keep going straight and like then it's
my dining room, and then it's my living room and
in the living room there's the fireplace with the TV. Right.
But when the people before lived it here, they had
(06:05):
their TV under the staircase and they're living room there.
So I'm saying it's not it's terrible. Also, is such
a bad idea. I know, I'm like, why would you
do that anyway? But I'm just saying there are other
ways to The reason I want you to move in
is one because it's like finding place like it. It's
(06:26):
just like such a cute place, very safe. It's just
like too you know, there's an upstairs downstairs. I know
that's what it is. It's pretty cheap. It's like it's yeah,
you know, every time someone leaves like an apartment here,
I'm like, she's like someone just opened up was I'm like,
(06:48):
I guess what, not a teen yet. Also, I just
really want to like I just okay. All I'm asking
is that when you do move out, you do find
a place that's close to me, because I don't want
to let away from you. What you think I'm just
going to move on in the middle of nowhere. I
don't know. You might move downtown. Absolutely not no offense
to people that live in downtown. But as far as
(07:08):
me a little bit um, So, how's Ivy doing? She
is really nice. She has turned a new leaf. She's
a new girl. She loves me so much. Maybe that
was missus me all the time she snuggles me. She
(07:29):
I think she kind of likes me a little bit
more than Takoda. And it's like, actually amazing. Not well,
now that Mom's gone, I meant mom's here, Mom, I'm
out of the picture. So Ivy has this really weird
thing where she will kiss Kenzie um like on her nose.
She'll kiss her ear, her cheek, but she will not
kiss Kenzie's lips. She's a germophobe. She won't let us
(07:51):
kiss her lips either. People listening who aren't like super
super dog lovers probably think this is like the weirdest
con person. I don't want her tongue in my mouth.
I'm just saying, you know, when you grab a dog's
face like I grab boots, I grab his face and
I kiss his nose like wet nose, and then he
licks it and then but I've literally does not want that.
(08:15):
You know, well, she she has some issues to overcome,
but we love we love her new Year's resolution and
maybe a hair brush. He's going to the gay. No.
I love her naughty hair. It's cute. It's like greasy.
She has like greasy hair, don't do you know what
I mean? Though, Like her texture is like, no, it's
(08:37):
not greasy. Come here, Boots. Boots is in the room
with us. He's doing the podcast today. So before I
(08:59):
went to Pitts Whorg, I was in New York re member.
I was in New York for like, I don't know,
ten days, and I brought Boots and this was his
first time flying, and he did such a good job.
Everyone was like, Boots is the most well trained dog,
like he's so amazing whatever. So I felt really good
about that because I was nervous because he's he's suffers
(09:19):
from extreme anxiety as a puppy, and so he did
really good. I was a proud mom. And then we
got to New York and he was freezing, so I
bought him a sweater. It was like a jacket. It
was so cute. He was owning New York. He was
walking around like he was and he looked like a
sausage because it was like the jacket very much made
(09:42):
him look like kind of chunky. It was. Ibby doesn't
let you put sweaters on her. She even though when
you got she came in a sweater and that sweater
took me six days to get off, Like I could
not get that stupid sweater off. I just wished everyone
(10:04):
knew her. But she's so she's the most interesting dog,
like besides Boots, because Boots is also a weirdo. Ivy
is just so interesting and she almost feels like she's
like an old woman that you once knew, and she's
reincarnated into this little body. And I'm just like, what,
how how are you real? Like I just sounded like
(10:24):
a duck? What are you talking about? Oh my gosh.
You know what we should talk about is when I
cut your hair and dyed it. Oh my gosh. Okay,
so that's a good that's a good story. Um so
a few months ago. Actually, how how long did I
cut my hair? Like? Two months ago? Yeah? Yeah, I
(10:48):
just randomly decided even though my hair has gotten to
the length I wanted to be. I'm like, finally, after
a year and a half of me growing out my
short hair, I love it, and then you chop it.
I was like, you know what, I want to chop
a really really really short pop for some reason. Um,
You've kind of wanted to do it for a long time,
(11:10):
but I feel like you just really finally committed to it. Yeah. Yeah,
I just kind of did. Like the next day, I
chopped my hair off, um, and it wasn't as short
as I wanted it to be. So when we were
in Pittsburgh, I was saying, like, oh, I just want
to get my hair cut shorter. And then I was like, Maddie,
you just want to cut it. Which, by the way,
I've cut your hair before. She's cut my hair so
(11:31):
many times. Sometimes it's looked great and sometimes it's looked
really bad, but I always get it fixed after so
it doesn't matter. So she my aunt is a hairdresser,
and she was on face time with us while Maddie's
cutting my hair with kitchen scissors, like actual kitchen scissors, um,
(11:52):
and it didn't look bad. And then we died it darker.
And we also, like every time we do my hair,
we have to like kind of hide it from my mom,
so like when she tries to come in, like I
have to run into another room like it's a very
serious thing. But she never notices after did she ever
say anything. She has never said anything about my hair ever.
(12:12):
But she took me to the hair dresser the day
and she was like, what do you want with your hair?
And I was like, oh, I just want to trim.
She was like okay, and still doesn't think that you
cut my hair. She just thinks hilarious. Yeah, So I
it wasn't that I did a really bad job. It
was more that I don't know how to do the
thinning part, and me and Kenzie have like such thick
(12:32):
hair that that was the issue. It was like, it
just looked really like short thick hair is terrible. It
just looks like a mushroom. Yeah, exactly, Yeah, I looked
I looked like the girl enough from the Incredible basically
picture reference really think about it. That was that was Kenzie.
(12:54):
So then you just got it fixed. So when people
ask I think I asked you this. When people ask who, like,
just cut your hair recently, you're making me on I
say you, But I'm kind of struggling with my short
hair right now because everyone on TikTok is calling me
Willy Wonka and and something else. I'm sorry why, I
(13:18):
don't know, because I have the haircook you don't look
like Willy Wonka at all, like maybe a little I
can see tiny bit, That's what I'm saying. I'm like,
you guys are right, like even though it's kind of hurts,
like you're right, but that's just not true. I what
side of TikTok are you on right now? What side
of TikTok am I on? I'm on? Like I need
(13:42):
to look if people are. I feel like everyone watching
this knows exactly what we're talking about when it means,
like what side do you usually fall into? Like a
four year for you pages like curated in like a
very specific category for a while, like I was on
jail talk for a while, Like I was on jail talk,
or like you know, like the crazy videos, like the
(14:03):
really intense like what was it called? I forget what
it was called. Yeah, I don't know, but I'm I've
always been on dog TikTok, and I will always be
on dog TikTok. I feel like I'm on baby. Do
you watch the twins Scouting Violet? I think so, They're
(14:23):
always on my TikTok. I love them or like hair
like I'm because now, for some reason, our phones are
listening to a bunch of hair, long, gorgeous, luscious hair
like I saved this is I literally saved this video
doing her hair like how I always want my hair
to look when I have long hair, and I liked
(14:45):
it for like, my hair is not gonna look like
that for two weeks. Should try. I really want the
dice and air wrap, even though I've been trying to
find it everywhere, I literally can't be It's so expensive. Yeah,
but but it's it's so worth it. I've seen now
that I've really seen a bunch of girls use it,
I'm like, it is so worth it because we used
the Revlon one, which is still good. It's like they're
(15:07):
uh hairbrush dryer essentially. Everyone everyone knows what it is
and it's only like thirty something dollars. It's it's good,
really good. I'm like, it just doesn't do what the
air wrap does, you know. No, it gets like the
perfect hair, like perfect blow out, like very like you
would go and get your hair done, you know what
I mean. It looks like that that like nineties bomb show,
(15:30):
like if anyone knows where to get them, Anyone's excuse me, Dison,
if you're listening to this, send us an air wrap, please, please,
and thank you? So did you? I'm just curious because
you did you have any like actual Nears resolutions this
(15:53):
year or did you actually just not? No, I I
really didn't. I mean like there's things that I think like, oh,
I need to be more strict about, Like I've noticed that,
and I did this literally the other day, and I
need to actually follow through with it. Is like I
woke up and me and Eddie's sister did some like
(16:15):
stretching and yoga and it literally set your day off
to be so good because it calms your anxiety, you know,
like morning anxiety, and it just kind of like calms
you down. So maybe that is something. It's like, oh,
I know that that actually makes me feel better, So
maybe I should do that every day, or even just
like maybe just getting out going on walks more. That's
(16:38):
like a hard thing to do for me, Like I
always forget, like, oh my gosh, I have such a
cute little neighborhood. I should go walk and take Boots
for a walk. You're right, yeah, I don't go on walks.
I think you watch your sims walk in your game
absolutely well, because like you know how the beginning of
the year is kind of slower with like work and
(17:00):
you know, just everything. Well, I haven't really had anything
to do, so I've been playing SIMS like like SIMS
is the best thing ever it is. But then I'm like, oh,
I've been playing this for four hours. Maybe I should
actually get up and walk downstairs for the first time.
You know, that's a that's a valid point. So that's
(17:22):
your New Year's resolution is to is to get go
outside when I have nothing. But you know it's bad
and you probably I think we both through this is
You'll be playing SIMS and then you go into the
kitchen you're like, oh my gosh, this looks like my
SIMS house or like you're like they all the new
updates and all the new packs, like they have so
(17:43):
many furniture pieces that they recreate from like I don't know,
anthropology or like urban outfitters, and I'm like, oh my god,
they literally have my coffee table and SIMS. It's crazy,
well like custom content. So that's not because Kenzie is
a genius at SIMS and knows all of the cheats
and Datty laughs every time I put in like a
little hack. But she's like mother load mother. If anyone
(18:07):
who plays SIMS they know exactly, they're probably giggling because
they do the same thing. But I did. Actually, this
is everyone's New Year's resolution every single year, and it
was like eat healthy and go to the gym. But
like I'm actually doing it, which has never happened. So
I'm proud of you. Not because you need to work
(18:27):
out and eat it seems to feel better because I
feel like it's good mentally as well. It's not just
like a physical thing. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Like
I get anxiety when I feel like crap, you know.
So it's nice to eat healthy and like not feel
bloated all the time because I eat so much food. Yeah,
(18:48):
I mean, which is not a bad thing. But I
think it's also like when you're feeding yourself like healthy
things or just like a lot of fruit and veggies,
like it puts your mindset in a better place. It's
like a happier, happier, healthier Yeah, totally to eat something
(19:08):
like healthy. Yeah, even though I love a good coco
pebbles and don't even like actually don't even you know,
it's so but yeah, I mean I'm excited for what's
to come this year, it'll be good. I think hopefully
work picks back up with the pandemic. It's just kind
of hard to know, but like, I'm excited for what's
to come. I know, I'm actually I'm really excited for
(19:30):
this new year. I feel like it'll just be great.
I think. So I'm like trying to put pressure on
saying like, oh my gosh, it's gonna be a great, dear.
But we'll update you guys, well, we'll talk very soon.
The next episode. We're like, it's going terrible. Let's hope
to Kencie is putting her bracelet around the microphone. We
