Speaker 1 (00:01):
Taking a Walk Nashville.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Hi all, this is Sarah Harrelson, your host of Taking
a Walk Nashville Today. Joining me is Buzz night from
Taking a Walk, and we're going to discuss some upcoming
events and shows happening here in Nashville. How are you, buzz?
Speaker 1 (00:17):
I'm doing great. Thanks for letting me pop my head in.
Far away from outside of Boston, but close enough to
be with you on Taking a Walk Nashville. Thanks Sarah, Yeah,
close enough to.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Be peaking about what's coming up here in Nashville. Oh.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
You know what, when you every time you go through
this list, it makes me want to hit the Logan
Airport and hop on a plane.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
So on we want to flight away. But definitely have
a lot of great events coming on this week. For
November twenty fourth, we mentioned last time that Stephen Wilson
Junior is playing at the Ryeman and he's back on
the twenty fourth for a second night concert.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
Well, Steven Wilson sounds like a force to be reckoned with,
and it sounds like he is coming back home for
these shows to really just sort of say I'm back
and I'm bigger than ever. And you know, if anybody's
listening that is in the Stephen Wilson Camp. Come on,
Steven Beyond Taking a Walk and Taking a Walk Nashville.
(01:24):
We'd love to have you.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Yeah, please join us. There's so many other events happening
this week too, though, one that I'm really looking forward
to is Dylan Altman Soul stew This is happening November
twenty sixth at the Analog and the Hunt Hotel. I
love this venue. It's cozy, it's intimate, as couches all
(01:46):
around the stage, and it always sounds really good in there.
But Dylan Altman's he's a songwriter. He's been here in
Nashville since the nineties. He would be another great guest
on Taking a Walk Nashville. But he said three number
one songs with Tim McGraw, Jake Gohen, and Jason Alden.
(02:06):
But he also hosts a YouTube show and if you
haven't seen it, it's truly great. He performs with the
band and then he takes a break, cook something, teaches
everyone a recipe, and then goes back to performing. So
that's the name of this event at the Analog, Dylan
Altman Soul stew And if you purchase a ticket, you
(02:28):
also get fifteen percent off your meal at Evelyn's, the
restaurant in the Hutton Hotel.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
All right, we now where's the Hunton located.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
It's on West End.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
All right. It sounds like I have not been there,
and it sounds like it's a place I got to
check out. So it sounds goo.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
It's a fun venue. Yeah. I've performed at the Analog
a few times and it's truly a great intimate venue.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
I think what's so cool about doing this is we're
not only celebrating those that might be in and around
the Nashville area listening to this, but there's so many
people from all over the country that have either been
to Nashville or planning a trip. So we like wetting
your appetite wherever you are to get to Nashville quickly
(03:15):
check these venues out, support these artists and support that
music community.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Absolutely. Yeah, there's music every corner that you turn in Nashville.
Always so much going on, so much happening at the Rhyman.
Like we talked about, it looks like we have rock
and roll playhouse. The Last Waltz at the Nashville Theater
on November twenty third. Is there anything that's sticking out
(03:45):
to you, Buzz for what's on this week's concert calendar?
Speaker 1 (03:50):
Well, the last Waltz event sounds interesting, so I'm gathering
since the last Waltz occurred right around Thanksgiving, the famous
event at Winterland in San Francisco, with so many great artists,
the band and Joni Mitchell, and if it allows all
(04:10):
different aspects of celebrating that concert, one of the great
concert films to this day. Martin Scorsese, by the way,
is the director of that. But it sounds like a
great take. I think people should check it out.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
And oh, there's another event at the Ryman on Sunday,
November twenty third, with Noah Guthrie and Nathan Graham.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
Buzz.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
What do you know about Noah Guthrie.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
Well, let's see, I'm going to go to Claude dot
Ai and see. I don't know if he's related to
Rlow and Woody, but okay. Noah Guthrie is an American
singer songwriter from South Carolina whose sound has been compared
to Chris Stapleton with his country rock grit with the
authenticity of isbel. Here's some highlights about him. He's released
(05:03):
three critically acclaimed albums, built a strong following through powerful
live performances. Performs both as a solo artist and with
his band Good Trouble, and he's open for major artists
including Ed Shearon, Willie Nelson, and Dwight Yoakum.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
Wow. Yeah, definitely gonna have to check him out.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
That.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
That's a major list of people he has opened for.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
Oh, I got one more about him, Sarah. He's known
for playing this one. This one really blows me away.
He's known for playing Roderick Meeks in the final season
of Glee.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
Really yeah, I don't have to go back and watch that.
It's been a while since I.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
Seen that show. So he's he's developed the real persona here.
So this sounds like a good one to single out.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
Yeah, and there's one more event I have to tell
you about, buzz. This looks very interesting. If you like
intertwining fitness and music, this one is for you. On Sunday,
November thirtieth at the Shermerhorn Symphony Center at seven pm,
they're doing an event called Orchestrally Energized Yoga. So they're
(06:21):
doing like a wellness series where the symphony is playing
and then you can, I guess, bring your yoga mat
and do a vignosa class synchronized with the Nashville Symphony.
So that's pretty interesting. Instead of sitting down just listening
to music, you can move and flow with the music.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
I think it sounds like the perfect recipe from having
too much turkey around Thanksgiving.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
Yeah, I guess that's why they're doing it after Thanksgiving.
That makes sense.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Very smart. Okay, well, maybe maybe that will become an
maybe it is an annual event. That sounds like a
good take as well.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
Yeah, yeah, definitely check that out. It looks like they've
done it before. But yeah, bring your yoga matt and
grab a ticket.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Well there you are, once again proving how great Nashville
is and what it brings to the table, even when
we have never imagined such a thing.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
Absolutely, yeah, it never ceases to amaze me or surprise
me everything that's going on here in Nashville. So everyone,
that's your weekly concert calendar for the week of November
twenty four to thirtieth. Thank you Buzz for coming on
and talking all about Nashville events with me.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Well, thanks for having me on, Sarah, and thanks for
taking a walk Nashville
