Speaker 1 (00:00):
Two Democratic senators now, Corey Booker and Alex Badia have
a new bill out. They want to require CVP and
ICE officers to have legible IDs, and they don't want
CBP or ICE officers covering their faces. Would you ever
sign that?
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Well, they wouldn't be saying that if they didn't hate
our country. This is the problem with the Democrats have
They have a lot of bad things going on in
their heads. They've lost their confidence number one, and they're
really does it come somewhat deranged?
Speaker 3 (00:29):
You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
Speaker 4 (00:33):
Good Friday morning. Nice to have you with us on
the forty seven Morning Up, Bet, and we've got two
major stories for you that we're going to cover. First up,
the White House blaming Democrats now for a massive spike
and assaults on ICE agents up more than seven hundred percent.
Why is this happening? We've got the receipts from Democrats
(00:53):
who have been calling for the assault on ICE agents
and we will expose them in a moment. Also, we
are seeing now some Secret Service agents are being held
accountable for the assassination attempt on Donald Trump and Butler
Pennsylvania sort of why do they hardly get anything. We'll
give you the details on that coming up as well.
(01:14):
It's the forty seven Morning Update and it starts right now.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
Story number one.
Speaker 4 (01:18):
We are seeing radical mayors and governors around the country
doing everything they can to go after ICE agents, and
we are seeing a massive spike in the number of
ICE agents that have been assaulted. The White House now
stepping out blaming the Democrats for this spike and assaults
on ICE agents nationwide. The White House on Wednesday accusing
(01:41):
Democrats oppose the President Donald Trump's crackdown on illegal immigration
of stoking violence directly against immigration and custom enforcement agents.
Quote as ICE agents risk their lives to secure our
borders and protect our communities. They're now facing a seven
one hundred percent surge in assaults a direct consequence of dangerous,
(02:05):
inflammatory rhetoric from Democratic politicians, the White House saying in
a statement titled Democrats inspire vicious, escalating attacks on ICE Now.
The report listed three recent attacks at ICE facilities in
Texas and Oregon, including a July fourth ambush near the
(02:26):
Prairie Land Attention Center in Alvarado, Texas. One officer there
was shot in the neck and multiple armed suspects were
taken into custody. The injured officer was treated at a
Fort Worth hospital. Thank goodness, he was released now. The
documents also list examples of unhinged Democrats in citing rhetoric
(02:48):
and lies. The House Minority Leader Kim Jeffreys of New
York implored people to quote fight the Trump administration in
the streets quote unquote, and declared ICE agents will be
unsuccessful in protecting their identities no matter what it takes,
wanting to docs ICE agents and put them and their
(03:09):
family's lives at risk. Representative Jpel of Washington State called
ICE agents deranged and said it is inspiring quote unquote
to obstruct immigration enforcement. Yes, she's an elected official in Congress.
Representative mc iver of New Jersey, who is arrested and
charged with forcibly impeding and interfering with federal officers outside
(03:34):
ICE attention facility, incited her supporters to quote shut down
the city because quote we are at war. Minnesota Governor
and former vice presidential candidate Tim Waltz said this, calling
Ice agency modern day gestapo. The Chicago Mayor Johnson accused
(03:58):
I being the quote secret police police and terrorizing our communities.
Representative Eric Swallwell of California said it was his quote
unquote priority to ensure ICE agents are no longer faceless,
comparing them to some eighteen hundreds bank robber or some
(04:18):
KGB officer in Russia. All of the people I just
mentioned are elected officials going after our men and women
in uniform. Now. On Tuesday, Democratic Senator Padilla of California
and Corey Booker of New Jersey also went crazy, introducing
legislation to require immigration enforcement officers to quote display clearly
(04:44):
visible IDs and not wear masks during public enforcement operations,
accusing the Trump administration of quote alarming immigration enforcement tactics
that have terrorized communities across California in the nation. Now,
you may ask why some ICE agents are wearing masks.
One simple reason, to protect themselves and their families from
(05:08):
the radical left who is trying to dock their location,
even having apps to tell you where this is happening,
and people that are then putting their children online. Charles Marino,
a former senior advisor to the Department of Homelanned Security
in Trump's first term, told Newsmax on Wednesday that the
left doesn't care quote unquote that its rhetoric is endangering
(05:31):
the lives of federal law enforcement agents by inciting this
type of violence, saying, quote the rhetoric from the left
is bringing out the crazies. It's as simple as this.
We saw it during the assassination attempts on President Trump,
where this rhetoric about him being a threat to democracy
brought out people that wanted to do him significant harm
(05:53):
and take him out of the picture. And it continues
here now against law enforcement. This goes back to the
original story of those that tried to assassinate people that
work in law enforcement on July fourth at their own headquarters.
President however, is promising to not stop enforcing American laws
(06:13):
no matter what threats are now coming from the Democratic Party.
Speaker 3 (06:17):
Now, story number two, I want.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
To take you back in time to a story that
happened what about a year ago, and that was the
major assassination attempt on Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. You know,
the one where luckily he moved his head a little
bit and that bullet hit his ear instead of taking
his head off. We now know that six Secret Service
agents have been suspended over that Donald Trump assassination attempt.
(06:43):
Now let me give you some of the facts on
this so you understand what this means. The US Secret
Service has placed these six agents on suspension without pay
for durations ranging from ten days to forty five days.
And the accounts slightly vary from what I'm hearing on
Capitol ill why due to security failures. They're now saying
(07:03):
I have been assessed during that assassination attempt July the
thirteenth at that rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Now, those discipline
include agents at various ranks, okay, supervisor staff, line agents,
a counter sniper, members of the Pittsburgh Field Office, and
the site walked through coordinator as well. Now, the nature
(07:24):
of the lapse was obviously so egregious that there's a
lot of people there's shocked that more people haven't been fired.
So what is it's all about. Well, the investigation revealed
serious coordination and communication breakdowns that day, such as unsecured rooftops,
missing radios, wrong drone cables, and poor integration with local
(07:48):
law enforcement. A Senate briefing we also are now being told,
found that the shooter was spotted on the rooftop at
least ten minutes before Trump took the stage, yet preventive
action was taken, which is totally insane. Why so many
people think this could have been a setup, that there
is a real conspiracy theory here and based on what
(08:08):
we know by the way of the RFK assassination, there's
a real legitimacy to asking every question on the table.
I'm one of those, by the way, I want to
make that very clear now, they're also been lack you
could argue of consequences and accountability. Yes, the former Secret
Service director resigned in July of last year, citing responsibility
(08:29):
over the agency's most significant operational failure in decades. But
outside that, what really happened well. The acting leadership under
Deputy Director Matt Quinn and Director Sean Karan, who was
on site and shielded Trump during the shooting, affirm suspensions
are aimed at systemic reform quote unquote, not blame or firings,
(08:50):
Quinn said, saying, quote we are laser focused on fixing
the root cause. We aren't going to fire our way
out of this now. Mat Quinn also emphasize ongoing reform,
saying once inoperative equipment like drones and mobile command centers
are being upgraded and coordination with local law enforce is
(09:10):
being enhanced. There was clearly a major separation that day
where police could even talk to the Secret Service, and
that ten minute lapse from the time they saw him
on the rooftop before Trump took the stage as a
perfect example of that. Now there's also been the public
reaction to this. Many Americans do not believe, for example,
that this was handled appropriately. I'll give you another example.
(09:33):
The widow of the firefighter his name was Corey, who
was killed by a straight bullet, slammed the Secret Service,
labeling their performance as quote a hot mess, and calling
for accountability and explanation because if they would have done
their job, there's a very good chance that her husband,
Corey would still be with us. We also know that
there's been a bipartisan House task force deemed the assassination
(09:57):
attempt quote unquote preventable. Now off into Republicans and Democrats
agree on anything when you are Republicans and Democrats and
you come together, and the assassination Attempt report says that
this was preventable. That happened in December. By the way
of last year, the report was issued about a dozen
(10:17):
recommendations aimed at strengthening the security protocols as well. That
worries me that those recommendations are coming from Congress and
weren't already in place by the Secret Service. Now, various
people have praised the disciplinary measures and reforms, noting the
agency has taken responsibility and implementing structural change that is
(10:38):
in theory good. But the big question is is it
enough saying we're not going to fire our way out
of this? What does that mean? The only way that
you get fired is if there is an actual dead president.
I mean, the lack of accountability here is incredible. And
let's just go back to the private sector if you
and look, I've had death threats against me. I've had
security that I've had to have. Unfortunately in my career,
(11:01):
I carry a firearm virtually everywhere I go and when
I do an event and there's security there. If I
was shot the way that Donald Trump was and there
was a line of sight venue, and that's the whole
job of the Secret Service to make sure that doesn't
happen where there's a short range line of sight directly
the president's head. And that's what happened in Butler. The
(11:21):
idea that we're quote not going to fire our way
out of this. I still think is kind of absurd
and I'm not like to fire everyone. What I am
saying is is like, come on outside, the Secret Service
director who resigned. You're telling me basically, no one's been fired.
I don't understand that. In the private sector, whether this
is a celebrity, a sports star, a former politician, a
(11:46):
whatever it may be, if this happened in the private sector,
a CEO of a company, there would no doubt be
massive amounts of people that would be fired because of
the event. Why is it in government we don't fire people.
It drives me insane. And if you look at the
six agents that receive these suspensions ranging from ten to
forty two days as part of a quote broader effort
(12:08):
to address serious protective failures, does it get any more
serious than an assassination attempt on the president units it's
America and multiple rounds going at his body, Like this
is the biggest failure you can have without death, and
no one gets fired, and you're like, all right, well,
you're not gonna get paid for ten to forty two days.
I don't know if that's the right message that we
should be sending right now now with the prior director's resignation.
(12:30):
They went on to say, and emphasis on root cause
fixes and improved interagency coordination and upgrade equipment. The Secret
Services undergoing reforms intended to prevent such laps as in
the future. That's all great again, Why is it that
no one has been fired in the private sector. You
screw up like this, you are fired, period. You are fired.
