Speaker 1 (00:01):
Look, I think it's incredibly unfortunate. You and I are
both good friends with President Trump, and we're both good friends.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
With Elon Musk.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
They're both extraordinary man. I was in the Oval Office
with the President when this back and forth began, and
it's really unfortunate. They are both, I think American heroes.
They're both incredibly strong leaders. And listen, it's obvious they're
both pissed off. Right now.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
Good Friday morning. Welcome, it is the forty seven Morning
Update in my own mind, do we have a show
for you? First? Up, the war between Donald Trump and
Elon Musk? Is it fair to say both men may
be right in what they're saying. I'm going to break
it all down for you in just a second. Up next,
Donald Trump and his administration implement a travel band that's
long overdue, especially in light of what happened in Colorado.

(00:50):
So who is affected by it and what countries? All
have that for you as well? And finally, a protester
at Columbia University has direct ties to a terrorist organization.
We have the indictment and why the Trump administration is
now going after Columbia getting rid of their taxpayer dollars
that you were sending by the millions. It's the forty

(01:11):
seven Morning Update and it starts right now.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Story number one.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
Well, let's just go ahead and address the elephant in
the room. There is a back and forth it has
taking place by the most powerful man in the world,
the President, Donald J. Trump, and the richest man in
the world, Elon Musk. There is a lot to say
about this, but I'm going to actually keep it pretty short.
And the reason why is this isn't good for any

(01:38):
of our conservative values to have a in infighting at
this level. This is a gift to the liberals. It
is a gift to the liberal media. It is a
gift to the left because they're getting exactly what they want.
They want Elon Musk and Donald Trump to not get along.
I put out a statement earlier today and I'm going

(01:59):
to read it to you. Trump is not wrong, Elon
Musk is not wrong. Elon is working under the assumption, unfortunately,
that Congress actually wants to do the job and wants
to save our country. Elon Musk is honestly where my
head would have been twenty years ago. But I've seen

(02:19):
too much of these sausage it's being made. He has
an assumption that it can't be this corrupt, that Congress
should actually want to work and do its job for
the American people. That is why Elon Musk is so
angry about the big, beautiful bill with good reason. Then
there is Donald Trump, who's working under the reality that

(02:40):
these people are absolutely scum in Congress, by the way,
many of them Republicans, and you cannot get anything perfect
pass through the current legislation or legislators that we currently
have in Washington. Now, Donald Trump understands what it means
to actually drain the swamp. He understands how many swamp

(03:01):
creatures are still there. He understands how many swamp creatures
are within the Republican Party. And that's why I say
Trump is working under the reality that these people in
Washington are absolute scum, and he knows that he cannot
get a perfect bill pass with this many scumbags in Congress. Now,
let me also talk about the things that Elon Musk

(03:22):
is also, by the way right about. I think we
can all agree that we would love a bill that
eliminates the entire corrupt irs. We would love a bill
that gets rid of all the government wasts, fraud and abuse.
We would love to have some of these agencies completely
gutted and have an administrative state that disappears the way
it's being run if we had that bill. There's also

(03:45):
the other reality, probably wouldn't even get twenty votes in
the House of Representatives because there is so many swamp
creatures there. Yes, many of them have the R next
to their name. Now, the bill on the floor, Donald
Trump understands is probably about as good as it's going
to get with the current crap that we have in Congress.

(04:06):
Represent the people, and Elon Musk is absolutely right to
be angry about what's in this bill. There are things
in this bill that I would love to get rid of.
But I also know that I'd rather have this bill
than have no deal done at all and have taxes
skyrocket and hurt Americans and have liberals in essence win.

(04:28):
So I go back to what I said a moment ago.
Elon is not wrong. Donald Trump is also not wrong.
But I want to say this clearly. I do not
believe that Elon is our enemy. I believe that AOC
and the Biden crime family, and the Obama family and
the Clinton family, and the mainstream media and the corrupt

(04:49):
individuals at PBS and NPR. They are the enemy. Elon
Musk is not the enemy. I think America should forever
be grateful, forever be indebted to Elon Musk for doing
what he did, saving free speech by buying Twitter, exposing
the corruption in the silencing and censoring of conservatives that

(05:10):
were on Twitter, exposing the corruption in social media that
has changed drastically since he bought Twitter and turned it
into X. He risked everything to save free speech in
this country. We now know how big of an impact
he's had on free speech. Things that you used to
not be able to say on social media you can

(05:30):
now say again. Things that used to get you kicked
off of social media because you were a conservative and
you wanted to expose waste, fraud, abuse, or ask questions
about a vaccine used to get you silenced. Let's be clear,
social media would not be what it is right now
if it wasn't for Elon Musk fighting back. There's also
something else that Elon has done that I will forever

(05:53):
be grateful for. He exposed the level of waste fraud
and abuse that we have within our government. This will
pay dividends for years to come, because now the majority
of Americans realize that the government is not working for them,
it is stealing from them and then hooking up their
friends and family members and donors with ridiculous amounts of money.

(06:17):
He also exposed the level of waste in overseas transactions
and just pure corruption. He has shown us exactly how
broken our government is. So I go back to what
I said a moment ago. Elon is not wrong, and
he's also not our enemy.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
Now.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
The final thing I'll say is this, I genuinely hope
that Donald Trump and Elon Musk can stop having this war.
I hope that they will go back to talking like
men to one another behind closed doors. I think both
men have done amazing things for this country, and I
think both men are playing into the trap right now

(06:54):
that the left and the liberal media have been wanting
to happen since day one. Musk is going to go
back to his private life and the work that he's done.
I do not want it to be undone because of
this war. I also want to be clear Donald Trump
is working under the reality of the situation that Washington
is broken, that there are a lot of scumbag politicians,

(07:17):
including Republicans, and you cannot get anything perfect passed through
the current legislators that we have in Washington. So as
I wrap this point up, I want to say this,
I am hoping for a very quick reconciliation between these
two brilliant minds. I'm hoping that they can at least
be civil, because a civil war between these two men

(07:37):
only helps the radical left. Next story number two, President
Donald Trump signed a proclamation reinstating a travel band that
restricts entry into the United States for citizens of twelve
countries whine, the president, citing national security concerns. Now the
policy is said to take effect very quickly on June

(07:59):
the ninth. There are twelve countries that are listed, and
the President had this to say about it is he
announced it from the Oval Office.

Speaker 5 (08:06):
The recent terror attack in Boulder, Colorado has underscored the
extreme dangers posed to our country by the entry of
foreign nationals who are not properly vetted, as well as
those who come here as temporary visitors and overstay their visas.
We don't want them. In the twenty first century, we've
seen one terror attack after another, carried out by foreign

(08:28):
visa overstairs from dangerous places all over the world, and
thanks to Biden's open door policies, today there are millions
and millions of these illegals who should not be in
our country. In my first term, my powerful travel restrictions
were one of our most successful policies, and they were
a key part of preventing major foreign terror attacks on

(08:51):
American soil. We will not let what happened in Europe
happen to America. That's why on my first day back
in office, I directed these secutive state to perform a
security review of high risk regions and make recommendations for
where restrictions should be imposed. Among the national security threats

(09:11):
their analysis considered are the large scale presence of terrorists,
failure to cooperate on visa security, inability to verify travelers' identities,
inadequate record keeping of criminal histories, and persistently high rates
of illegal visa overstays, and other things. Very simply, we

(09:32):
cannot have open migration from any country where we cannot
safely and reliably vet and screen those who seek to
enter the United States. That is why today I am
signing a new executive order placing travel restrictions on countries
including Yemen, Somalia, Haiti, Libya, and numerous others. The strength

(09:54):
of the restrictions were applying depends on the severity of
the threat post The list subject to revision based on
whether material improvements are made, and likewise, new countries can
be added as threats everge around the world. But we
will not allow people to enter our country who wish
to do us harm, and nothing will stop us from

(10:17):
keeping America safe. Thank you very much.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
The President. Going through that list again, Afghanistan, Burma, Chad,
the Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan,
and Yemen. There are also partial restrictions on seven different
countries Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turns, Megastan, and Venezuela.

(10:42):
The partial restrictions involve limitations on immigrant and certain non
immigrant visas, but some temporary visas may still be granted
with those quote partial restrictions on the seven countries I
just listed, as President Trump stated, the ban aims to
protect the United States from individuals who may pose threats
to national security, citing concerns over terrorism, inadequate vetting processes,

(11:07):
and high visa overstay rates in the US. He referenced
a recent attack in Boulder allegedly perpetrated by an Egyptian
national and a catalyst for the new policy. Now the
administration also pointed to deficiencies and information sharing and an
identity management protocols and effected countries which hinder effective screening

(11:28):
and vetting of travelers. The travel band has already faced criticism.
Don't worry from the left, as they will do anything
to stand up for illegal immigrants and even those that
are committing atrostes against Americans. It is very clear there's
two ways of thinking on this issue. The conservative way,
the Trump way is to protect American citizens, and the

(11:49):
left is to advocate and protect the illegal immigrants, even
those that are on terrorists watch lists.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
And here is story number three.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
The Trump administration is upset right now with many American
universities who are allowing anti Semitism to explode on college campuses.
Colombia is a perfect example of this, where a protester
and self proclaimed Jew hater, we now have learned, had
direct links to Hamas Teracel. This coming from disturbing phone

(12:20):
records as the DOJ is revealing all of this. A
Jew hater quote unquote, who protested against Israel on Columbia
University's campus and contemplated, we now have learned setting a
student on fire allegedly had a direct link to the
Hamas Deadly Al Casombrigade militant group. The post is now

(12:42):
revealing the man is now a wedding trial after being
indicted on three federal hate crimes against Jewish people. He
was a member of a chat group that received regular
updates from the terrorist organization as well, and the accusation
is the first evidence of an ador receiving information directly

(13:03):
from Hamas and taking action during protests on the University
of Columbia campus. Now, the individual was twenty. I want
to be clear he was not a Columbia student, but
he was on the campus protesting. He frequently wore the
green headband used by Hamas terrace and boasted to friends
about having relatives overseas who were actually a part of

(13:25):
the terror group. This all coming from the DOJ court filing.
While on Columbia's campus during protests in April of last year,
the individual allegedly Texas pals, saying he lit a flare
and considered lighting someone on fire, but that there was
quote too many people around him to take on otherwise
he would have hurt them. A Columbia University said has

(13:48):
quote no record of the man being on campus and
wanted to quote be clear that this individual is not
affiliated with our university in anyway. All right, so why
did you allow him to protest on your campus? The
university added that the school quote strongly condemns anti Semitism
and violence, and we are horrified by the violence and
hate crimes described in the incident. Well, you can say

(14:11):
that all you want, but the reality is Columbia University
has allowed this hate to grow on its campus, which
brings me to the second part of the story. The
Trump administration is now escalating pressure on Colombia, as the
Education Department is questioning the university's accreditation altogether. Here's more
of the story from Fox News.

Speaker 6 (14:33):
The Trump administration is not backing down as it continues
its crackdown on campus anti semitism. The State Department is
vowing to investigate the visa status of anti Israel protesters
who were arrested after storming the school. Library this week.

Speaker 7 (14:47):
The nature of our promise that people who are in
this country with the visa ante laws or affect the
nature of what's important to our country when it comes
to our foreign policy and national security will be acted
on in that regard. Yes, he said it, and I
believe them, and that's the word you can take for it.

Speaker 6 (15:04):
Congress Woman Elise Stephanic says that schools like Columbia just
aren't paying attention here listen to what she has to say.

Speaker 4 (15:12):
And the fact that these universities have allowed that to
perpetuate shows that they have been incapable of showing strong
leadership to allow safety for students, and they've allowed this
anti semitism to continue to rise. The US taxpayers do
not want their dollars to prop up institutions that are
unsafe for Jewish students, and that has been the case
at places like Columbia.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
One thing's for sure. The Trump administration isn't screwing around
with anti semitism on college campuses, and they're going to
make it hurt for universities that refuse to rein it in.
So well done to the Trump administration for doing this.
They're not holding back and they're stopping anti Semitism, especially
when your tax dollars are going to these universities that

(15:52):
have been looking the other way for far too long.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
