Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hey man, eighty five Sound Show, Welcome back to twenty
five Media House. And if you look around, you can
see I'm gonna be a math now. I literally got
the whole family with me today. Man, tell everybody, hello,
look look we got we got the Mama, the Sun,

(00:27):
the low down.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Man's daddy, that nigga.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
I'm not probably though where you need on some weird
hey man, Look, you know we love the show Man
and and y'all took America by storm and showed up
and gave us, gave.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Us a classic.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Man, Thank y'all for that.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
I appreciate that. How's everybody being?

Speaker 3 (00:50):
I'm great man? I know you be hanging out with
your TV mom and daddy. Really everybody going to chuck
your cheese out? But nah, man, I'm great man.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
I'm blessed, like honestly to be a part of a
pilot that get picked up for a season and that
you're doing not just one, but two, three, four right there.
That's like that's like giving birth to a kid, but
then the kid ends up becoming an NBA player.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
You know that don't really happen.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
It's really hard the TV process. You know, a lot
of people don't realize how hard it is to get
a show on air and it becoming successful. So to
be a part of it with like ogs, like you
know what I'm saying, that's I couldn't ask for more.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
Man, do you even know how much TV experience you
you've been around?

Speaker 3 (01:36):
I google it?

Speaker 1 (01:39):
So what is it like having a young up and
coming actor on the show with y'all who's who's been doing?

Speaker 2 (01:45):
It's cool to me. He started out as a hardhead,
you know what I mean? Like, yeah, you know what
I mean. It's natural. You know, you think you know
everything shit, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (01:54):
He used to be that way too.

Speaker 6 (02:01):
You know, you know your funny little slide story when
I we did play together on brou New York, uh
Jitney August Wilson's Jitney. And you know, I was in
my I was mid early twenties, you know what I mean.
I used to come around strut and everything like that
and be talking to the girls with something my mother
let me get, you know, and she said, boy, you
are so transparent.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
You hit them with the.

Speaker 6 (02:22):
Transparent I was like, so, yeah, I mean, so you
know when you see other brothers, you guys, hey, let's
let's try this a different way, y'all.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 6 (02:32):
But Nah, but he's no, it's we've had a good time,
were having a great time working together, and it is
it's like a family. It is a family, you know
what I mean. All these years and all we've all
been through, we we just have fun and just keep everybody,
you know, prayed up and loved up.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Me and my brother were talking the other day about
how she found the little match book, how cheating has evolved.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
The mattress.

Speaker 6 (03:00):
Everybody used to put their number, membery you went from
the hand, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
But I'm saying, just like now, somebody would literally had
to pick your phone up and go through it. Bro
we was literally out here saving pieces of saving evidence.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
That is crazy.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
But Charls, he ain't a player like that, That's what
I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
He ain't.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
You know what I mean, His player card had been gone.
You know what I'm saying. He's trying to reinfit the wheel.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
He had no game.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
But I feel like all the characters are relatable in
that sense, man, because everybody got their uncle who get
caught fucking up.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Since the sixties seventies, he fucked up in every era.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
I got an uncle now.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Who still got a flip phone because they don't want
all their information out there?

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Man?

Speaker 3 (03:48):
What can we look forward to? What's coming next in
this season? Uh?

Speaker 4 (03:54):
Honestly, this season I think is the most action packed
season ever before. I feel like this season is like
a Mission Impossible double O seven type. Like the budget,
it was just a lot larger. So the things that
we're able to do is like the explosion. I mean,
you got this explosions.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
I thought you like literally explode. Yeah, oh we're coming up. Yeah, yeah,
it's like that this season get like that. Yeah, that's
what's up.

Speaker 6 (04:22):
They're putting that money in there, so you know, everybody
got to have a litt opportunity to look.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
Good, right right.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
You know, he's trying to get his double old soul on.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
You know, that's what do you do?

Speaker 1 (04:33):
Though?

Speaker 2 (04:34):
He said, I'm trying to be the action the black
action hero.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
No, but you know that's his character got a.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Whole lot of flash, so he's carrying over in real life.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
You see how he came in and he was like, yeah,
I got it.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
What are y'all looking forward to?

Speaker 1 (04:48):
This year at the BET it was because you see,
like every year they try to take it to another level,
another level.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
It is anything y'all looking forward to this year.

Speaker 5 (04:57):
I'm looking forward to us being there. Well, it'll be
my first time. Actually that's not true. I have been
to the BAT Awards before, but I'm so looking forward
to just being there and that BMF will be a
part of that. And I think it's so exciting to
have something that's for us and by us, and I

(05:20):
just feel really proud to be a part of it
in that way.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
I wanted to ask both of you too, like.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
What are some of the secrets to success that you
found in your journey as a black actor and a
black actress, to like some of the keys to the
longevity of the business.

Speaker 5 (05:37):
I would say not giving your power away and trusting
your own authentic journey because it's very difficult in this
business because it breeds insecurity and you're always looking for
your next job, and it appears that you're waiting for
somebody to say you're okay, you know, waiting for somebody

(05:58):
to validate you to get give you a job and
that and that job equals your self worth on some level.
You know, And so I think that really honoring and
loving yourself and knowing, trusting your own journey and what
your art is about, and just not giving away your

(06:20):
power to everyone, I think is really important.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
You listen, I am, you know.

Speaker 6 (06:26):
I think that we have to at first we have
to like ask ourselves, what does success really mean? How
do you define the success? How does one define success?
I think for some people's success might be celebrity. For
some people success might be money, visibility, things of that nature.
I think for myself, I define success by the opportunities
and just really working, you know what I mean. You know,

(06:50):
it's like when I started out, I said, Man, I
want to be the next Denzel, I want to be
the next Fishbird or something like that. Now it's just
I want the next job. You know what I mean,
because you you put it in its proper perspect dude.
You know, for me, now I got wife and I
have kids, and now everything it's about them. So success
has just been the opportunity and the ability just to
continue to have a job. You know, when we're in

(07:10):
this business, it is you people have to look at it.
It's about pension and health. At the end of the
day and and can you can you take care of
your basic critical needs? And so for me, that's what
success is. How you get it, how you attain it.
That varies from day to day, from year to year.
What you know, how I approached it ten fifteen years
ago was different to how I approach it now. As
Micale said, I have less and security, but I have

(07:33):
but I have because I have more patience, you know
what I mean. So I'm not looking for somebody to
really validate me. I know the opportunities will come and uh,
you know that's how that's how it, That's how it's
been for me.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
You know, she gets to be on your ass a lot.

Speaker 6 (07:47):
She'd be wearing my ass, you know what I'm saying.
And it's fun though, because you know, we know each other,
we go so far back. We really have a fun.
We have a we have a lot of fun talk
and shit, you know what I'm saying, And she'll say,
she'll wear me.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
I'm sorry, should be putting all that into it?

Speaker 6 (08:04):
Yeah, get down, you know, Yeah, I'd be like, be
for real.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
No.

Speaker 5 (08:11):
We definitely had those moments this season where there's some
things that you know, Lucille is going in a whole
different direction. And there's some things that are very surprising
about her character that you don't you wouldn't expect. And
some things weren't always really nice that she says, and
and and I had to say some real bad stuff
to him sometimes, and it was like, oh my gosh,

(08:34):
Like well, I didn't feel like are you okay? Or
I'm so sorry? Why would I say that? Why why
would Lucille do that? I wouldn't do that. But once
I kind of got into that whole thing.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
But that's gotta be therapeutic, though, is just to be
able to get some of that aggression in some of
those emotions out.

Speaker 3 (08:56):
You know, even if it's just on cameras. Sometimes you
want to say some.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
Terrible ship and you can't, and then you get the
chance to say it, and.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
It just feels so good. You'd be like, Yeah, that's that's.

Speaker 5 (09:07):
Why we do what we do, express unexpressed emotions and.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
Real therapy I got.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
I just recently did a feature and I got to
play a terrible motherfucker and it felt great because it's like,
after that was done, I was like, man, I just
feel good. Got all the neg I got all the
negativity out of my body for the rest of the year.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Exercise of dem.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
Look, man, I really appreciate y'all and showing us some love.
Let them know when the new season is coming and
how they can keep up with y'all and everything in
between all it.

Speaker 3 (09:44):

app on TV on the Stars channel. I believe it
starts right, it starts, yeah, yeah, it starts channel yeah,
and then the streaming service. But yeah, look, I'm looking
forward to all your feedback. We actually do watch the videos,
the memes and all the impersonation of mom and Pops
meet and teat like, we watched that and we actually.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
Got to we have a black coming, keep it coming.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
Actually no, I haven't.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
I haven't met him yet, but I talked to him
on the phone and FaceTime FaceTime.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
Yeah, oh yeah, and I U episode two.

Speaker 6 (10:19):

I mean, you know, doing directing thing, and so yeah,
excited for to get your feedback and so just just
check us out.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
Yeah, you most definitely gonna check you'all.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
I like to watch him like in order and then
I like to just watch random episodes.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
Oh shit, yeah yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
Because I feel like as black people, we got to
support everything black, So I make sure it's black people
on my TV.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
I'm not bullshit.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
I watched Black People all day, all day long, just
I just need to see us.

Speaker 4 (10:57):
It's just this wallpaper and sometimes I just turn on
the black short and go back downstairs.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
That's what we need to raise. I got excited.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
I was like, Oh, they're letting us blow up ship.
We usually just have enough ship to make the ship,
but then we get to blow up ship, and shit.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
I get really excited, right right right, hey man, I
thank y'all.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Man.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
