Speaker 4 (02:07):
Show out we do?

Speaker 1 (02:08):
How is it going with all the ladies man put together?

Speaker 7 (02:13):
Listen, it's been an amazing ride so far. We had
our premiere last night. Mister Tyler Perry, you know, came
and graced us with his presence and listen, you want
to be next to that.

Speaker 5 (02:26):
Kind of energy.

Speaker 7 (02:27):
That's the kind of energy you want. But it's you know,
working alongside him and the cast. It is very clear
why he is in the position that he's in and
giving people opportunities. I think he said last night that
between all of the shows and stuff that he's done,
he's made more black millionaires than a little bit. And
that's you know what I'm saying, and a couple more.

(02:47):
I pray God blesses him to do that.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
The Voice brothers, I ain't even been married.

Speaker 6 (02:53):
The Voice brother the way I want to roll on
this plone, I ain't even been married.

Speaker 7 (03:04):
The baby Daddy I watched deserves to be told about story.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
Queen at all?

Speaker 2 (03:17):
Come on now, I love it.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
Yes, catch us up.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
It's been going on?

Speaker 5 (03:23):
Who what hasn't been going on?

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Real?

Speaker 5 (03:25):
We have been working hard to promote the show.

Speaker 6 (03:27):
By the way, the show actually premieeres on BT Plus
June tenth, but you will get a sneak preview immediately
following the BET Awards.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
So you got to watch, you gotta watch.

Speaker 7 (03:38):
The More importantly, you gotta get your subscriptions.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Running.

Speaker 5 (03:45):
I mean, you know what.

Speaker 6 (03:46):
I will say this because we we saw the premiere
for the first time last night, and I will say
the first episode, you're gonna get to know our characters.

Speaker 5 (03:54):
You're gonna get like.

Speaker 6 (03:55):
A little sneak peek into our life. And then at
the end it's like a little bit of right you know,
little Cliffhanger.

Speaker 7 (04:03):
Yeah, it's spicy.

Speaker 5 (04:06):
It is.

Speaker 6 (04:06):
It's spicy. I am not, thank you god see. And
there's nothing wrong with it when I tell you, I've
done movies where I've had the singing role and that's fine.
But I love keeping them separate, like I don't want ton't.
I don't want people to feel like, oh, she got
cast it because.

Speaker 5 (04:23):
She can sing. I wanted to don't box.

Speaker 6 (04:26):
Don't put me in no box. And you know that, okay,
I mean back in the days, we have to do
it all. We have to be able to sing, car wheels,
flips and tap okay, all the things flits and now
you know it's a thing of well, she's.

Speaker 5 (04:43):
Known as a singer.

Speaker 6 (04:44):
She she really isn't a legit actress or she's then
it's like we.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Have to be.

Speaker 7 (04:51):
It's funny you say that, having to have the division
between knowing how to sing and act, because for me,
people are asking me, well, why are you going as
Kadeen Andrea and not Kadeen Ellis, which most people know
me for. But I think most people have been introduced
to me in this space, meaning the public space, being
a wife and mom. You know, my husband and I
having our podcast Dead Ass, which is now ellis that
after writing our book, so I wanted to distinguish the two.

(05:12):
I wanted people to know there's Kadeen, the wife and
mom and the social media presence, but there's also Kadeen
who went to school for acting and performance. And this
is something that I've wanted to do my whole life.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
In which character, which like introduced us to your character?

Speaker 7 (05:28):
Oh for sure? So my character, her name is Geneva Washington.
She is married. I don't know if I should say
happily married.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
We'll see.

Speaker 7 (05:36):
Sometimes you just go day, isn't bad to ask how
it is? Sometimes you divorced and remarried within the same
marriage a couple of times. You know, she has a
daughter who's five years old. She's an attorney, And I
want to say, of all of the sisters in the group,
she's the one who's always presenting that she has it together,
but deep down inside she doesn't acknowledge that she doesn't.

Speaker 5 (05:57):
So we'll see right now.

Speaker 7 (06:01):
But that's the whole point, because within these shows, people
feel like, sometimes, oh, these stories are so outlandish. No,
you have known somebody you can relate to a character
like there are people out here who are living these stories.
Tell them about I know about Come on, tell us
about she.

Speaker 8 (06:18):
That name alone, Let me know she She doesn't now
a haircut makes sense?

Speaker 5 (06:23):
The hair not the hair come out? What you mean.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
It's saying, Rashida.

Speaker 7 (06:28):
It is giving very much given funny quick story. So
she had gotten her hair braided the night before you're
supposed to film.

Speaker 5 (06:36):
Stayed up for five, five or six hours.

Speaker 7 (06:38):
And she did before we were supposed to film that
short day. And she came to set and she was like,
I don't feel like this. Here is Rashida. So we
were like, well, girl, you just got your hair braided
for about seven hours. What you about to do? She said,
take him out?

Speaker 6 (06:49):
And it gave you five minutes to get all her
braids out, cut all of my braids out and be
done and to set ready to were I was did.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
That's how you know? It's some money on that shit.

Speaker 7 (06:59):
Come on now, but it ain't to be wasted. Cary that.

Speaker 6 (07:04):
They said, you got forty five and this is first day.

Speaker 5 (07:07):
So I ain't want no problem, I want trouble.

Speaker 6 (07:10):
I got it done. I had about three or four
people in my head. Cut these braids out and then
you know, they did me a little wash and go
waved her up, put on my suit.

Speaker 8 (07:17):
But that just explains how you felt like the character
didn't resonate, because so they just show you.

Speaker 5 (07:24):
Exactly.

Speaker 7 (07:25):
And I spent time building our character period.

Speaker 6 (07:28):
And I felt like Rashida was she was she was sharp,
she was edgy.

Speaker 5 (07:32):
I want I didn't want her.

Speaker 6 (07:34):
Sometimes first ladies can be seen as like soft and
they all, you know, they don't they don't get to
say how they feel all the time because they're they're
living in their husband's shadow.

Speaker 5 (07:44):
Everything is about the pastor of the church.

Speaker 6 (07:46):
By the way, Rashida is the first lady to Pastor Jeff,
and I am.

Speaker 3 (07:52):
You're probably doing some diabolical treacherous.

Speaker 5 (07:57):
It's not treacherous.

Speaker 6 (07:59):
Actually, Rashida holds everybody in the group accountable. It's all
about being true to yourself, telling the truth. Because I say,
I'm how many times do we count that I say,
are you telling the truth? In the script, I say
that I think that's every other line because I want
to make people make sure that my girls are being
honest about what's going on, being honest with themselves.

Speaker 7 (08:21):
In the script that was in the script often and
I would have to go to her as Geneva. Yes,
be like girl, I'm gonna lay my burdens down and
you tell me what to do sis. And that's where
the sisterhood comes into it.

Speaker 6 (08:35):
I'm playing for her down at the church because she
got like going on. I gotta toe she got things
going on. Okay, by the way was she'd have got
things going on. But you know, first ladies got to
be on all the time. They got most of the time.
It's a front to make it seem like things are
all going well and keeping the faith and we walking
with the Lord because.

Speaker 5 (08:57):
Home exactly.

Speaker 6 (08:58):
But deep down and when behind closed doors they're going
through it, you know what I mean. So I'm glad
that people get to see the other and me being
a minister's kid like, people need to see that these
people are human beings regardless of what they're calling is.

Speaker 5 (09:17):
They're still human and they.

Speaker 4 (09:19):
Don't have life outside of way that job.

Speaker 7 (09:22):
Absolutely don't think people see it as that.

Speaker 5 (09:24):
No, really is.

Speaker 6 (09:25):
They see people, as you know, especially be super human
right and they're not.

Speaker 5 (09:31):
So it's just we're giving a reel on everything.

Speaker 8 (09:33):
You should, Daddy, can we watch it to get a
BT Plus subscription.

Speaker 7 (09:44):
The group chat, so y'all can talk about each episode.

Speaker 5 (09:47):
You know what I'm saying, You're going a little too far.

Speaker 8 (09:50):
Now, we can't have we can't have too many men
in the group chat talking about the Voice Sisters, talking
about the Voice Sisters.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
Now and now we're gonna watch it, and then we're
gonna do on Landry Live.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
We're gonna go live.

Speaker 7 (10:02):
That's I watch that. We want to hear y'all recap.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
Oh, you gotta stay tuned. Did you see what Rashida did?
I can see it.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
I can see it now.

Speaker 5 (10:10):
I know something. I like it. I like it.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
I love that.

Speaker 7 (11:34):
Got all my secrets because we laughed about it when
we were when we when we were filming, we were like,
there's Rashida and Geneva and then this Sida Knowsva so
I know college college she Neva. You know we have
some skeletons in the closet.

Speaker 5 (11:51):
I mean what we got on the foot, we got
