Speaker 1 (00:00):
Do you know what the bell man? When you ring
(00:02):
the bell, that means it's money on the floor. Oh,
I mean it's some money in the building. That means
it's some money to be gott Oh I didn't know
ring the bell? This is like go ahead, Yeah, what's
some extra blessing? Thank you, welcome to the black market.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
And pick you a camera and tell everybody who you
are today and what you got going on.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
My name is Julian Anderson and I'm the founder of
her Ride. Her Ride is the women's uber and Lyft
that we have all women drivers on our platform, about
two hundred and fifty drivers and we are up and
running in Atlanta, Georgia.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
I believe everything you say just based off how you talk.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
The boy definitely does not match you. Like, Hi, my
name is Julian. Yeah, that was a real.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
Professional thanks working on Oh yeah, so look what we
got going on today?
Speaker 1 (00:44):
What is what's what's this ride shit situation?
Speaker 3 (00:48):
So I have a ride share company I used to
I When I moved to Atlanta in twenty seventeen, I
started driving for ubern Lyft. I was trying to go
pro for basketball, so it worked our best on my
schedule and I would mainly drive to night, and so
what happened was I was picking up a lot of
women at.
Speaker 4 (01:02):
Night, and yes, yes, indeed, and.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Once your finance ladies with no cars and the good
Amazon workers, the good Amazon went yep, but yeah, I
think it was smart.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Enough to just share to work and not even have
to deal without.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
Exactly yeah, but yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
When I used to pick them up, I used to
keep I used to keep hearing over and over again.
Either they were canceling trips until they recognized the women's
name was Jillian, So I do that.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
I do that sometime I.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
Look at them, they would or they would like share
an uncomfortable experience that they had and in another uber
lyft and so this kept happening over and over again.
Speaker 4 (01:37):
I was like, why haven't they solved this problem?
Speaker 3 (01:39):
Like why haven't they just added a feature where women
can pick women drivers? And when I realized they had
no intention of doing it, I just decided to do myself.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
That's what's up? What was some of your best nights?
It's a rat shall driver. Some of your favorite stories? Manmers?
Speaker 4 (01:54):
New Year's Eve was always interesting.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
Try to drive as much as you can until somebody
throws up in your car, cause that's going Football games
are always fun. And I had a crazy I had
my only bad experience cause I didn't even have any
bad experiences. My only bad experiences was I picked up
a guy. He was drunk and h I w he
wanted me to stop at the McDonald's on Ponts. And
everybody knows that night that McDonald's on Ponts is crazy,
(02:17):
like no one's waiting in that line. It wasn't even
part of his trip, and so I ignored it and
I just took him home.
Speaker 4 (02:22):
And he refused to get out of my car, and
I was like, oh, you don't wanna.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
Get my car.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
So I have like bluetooths in my car. Just called
the little emergency line or whatever. When he heard it
over bluetooth, he was trying to now you wanted to
get out of the car. WAS like, nah, stay in
the car, stay the car, wait till the calm.
Speaker 4 (02:35):
But not outside of that, I ain't never had any issues.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
I mean, I had a couple guys try to hit
on me and I'll be like you good, like you say, yeah,
I have to.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
Make sure like you all right.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
But now outside of that, I I ain't have any issues.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
MM.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
I just noticed that the pay kept going down, and
I was like, oh, yeah, they tripping.
Speaker 4 (02:51):
I gotta find something else to do.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
Now that he got this thing where they got to
pay him a certain amount, right.
Speaker 4 (02:56):
Like uh in certain states.
Speaker 5 (02:59):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
I think the only state they got that was uh, Minneapolis.
I think they got that together. So oh sorry Minnesota. Yeah,
so they they uber and Lyft is actually leaving I
think at the end of the year out of those
states because of that.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
So that was the inspiration to start your own radh.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
Yeah, outside of looking at how much money they make,
what's the like, what's the process to start your own rash? Well,
my backgrounds in computer science, so that's why I went
to school for y you know, Hey, I am, I am,
but I I went to school for computer science. But
I didn't build an app. I'm not that I'm not
(03:37):
I'm not that smart. So what I did was I
found a company to build it for me. I owned
the source code, own everything. It took them about six
months to do it. Okay, once they finished it, I
uploaded it live on the app Store. The only thing
about that was we went live in March twenty twenty,
So that's when.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
The states shut down.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
Damn yeah, so we couldn't do nothing.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
But what I did was focused on like social media
engagement and stuff like that, community building.
Speaker 4 (03:58):
We went viral on Twitter.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
In June of twenty twenty, and seven thousand people signed
up in one day.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
Now clear this up for me.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
It's just like when you say her rad's just like
women drivers or they only picking up women.
Speaker 4 (04:10):
We pick up everybody. We pick up everybody.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
But the way we market is the same way pad
companies in Tampon market.
Speaker 4 (04:15):
Uh, Tampon companies market like that.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Don't market you guys, even though y'all know Tampon's and
pads like this.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
That's because they need to find us something that we
can use them for.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
But that's that is. It's gonna be somebody with a
past stuck to their head. Keep sweating my eyes.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
Shoot, these three duke pads due pads. Since they got
dude whites, they need to make some due pads.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Don't know the hell they If I see a dude
with a pad.
Speaker 5 (04:40):
Never mind, man, sh they're always with the wings.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
They hip it, so I ain't had to get no stitches.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
Oh man, somebody gonna create that just because they they're
gonna be emergency. But yeah, that's how we market. So
we're just really discreete with our marketing. We just really
focus on women. And then if a woman tells her
husband or whatever like that, yeah we we picked them
up like it's not it's not an issue. Our drivers
have full discretion over that. So if they don't feel comfortable,
then they're not gonna pick you up.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
Right, that's hard, thank you. So how's business being? Like
getting the word out and all of that.
Speaker 4 (05:15):
Business has been all right, business has actually been great.
I'm not gonna lie. So we're the third rides.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
You was about the last Yeah I was, I'm and
tell me I was.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
Now we're the third rideshare company to be put in
Atlanta Airport, So I know you fly.
Speaker 4 (05:28):
You stopped threw up that all the time.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
I didn't know y'all was at nine.
Speaker 5 (05:31):
No.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
Uh, our name is up on the b on the
rod Share signs. I'm if you if you go and
look at the rod Share signs. Finally got our name
up there. They did that in uh February. I was
giving him hell about that.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
Yeah, when I do need a rad I got this
old dude that picked me.
Speaker 4 (05:43):
Up Oh yeah, I understand.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
Yeah, ol g he you know how you do you
hire a drive.
Speaker 5 (05:48):
That Look, if you never need somebody, call me.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
So I got the old dude.
Speaker 4 (05:53):
Oh yeah, I know you're reliable to grab and all that. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Na, our luxury drivers do the same thing. If you
ever wanna try something new.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
You'm saying, see me getting in the car with one
of y'all.
Speaker 4 (06:05):
How ain't gonna see you because he'd be that's.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
All he do. He would a little suit and go
to the airport.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
As soon as I come up them steps and I
see him, he be working with you.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
Got you good cause I can get you in. I
don't know how to heal he be doing that.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
You gotta try this one time most definitely.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
Alright, I will my next joint.
Speaker 4 (06:21):
All right, that's a bit, that's a bit.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
I'm gonna be looking out because I look at the
dash word every day.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
You don't be picking people up, nah, not anymore. I
actually stopped driving in January.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
Now, that'd be the honor if you actually picked me
up like the owner. Can't nobody say that the owner
uber pick him up before.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
At first though, that's a that's a there's a few
customers that can definitely say that about.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
They ain't gonna never be on the black market, though.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
Are you right? But we could work something now. I
can definitely do that, all right.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
I don't know. I just see what y'all talking about.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
Y'all got little waters, especially my especially my Lux drivers.
Speaker 4 (06:53):
They definitely have all that.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Oh okay, yeah, they have all that.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
What if I called you and then you had the
driver picked me up in my old school, I might
need to collab with you.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
That's a whole other business right there.
Speaker 4 (07:05):
Nah, that's people in the old school.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
Now. That is definitely a niche market. But that'll work
in Atlanta. That'll definitely work in Atlanta. It would definitely
work in Atlanta.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
We need to wrap what are you talking about? The
people who make the app exactly? What can they? Where
can they sign up for?
Speaker 3 (07:20):
Get it on the App Store, Google play Store, anywhere
you download apps. That's where we're at. You can make
an account where live said her ride?
Speaker 4 (07:29):
Oh yeah, her ride. Y'all got to promoted ladies.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
If you want to choose to be unbothered, choose her ride.
Speaker 4 (07:37):
All right.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
We have two hundred and fifty drivers in Atlanta. We
haven't had any incidents, over five thousand bookings completed. Choose
her ride. I promise you will not regret it.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
That's the hell of it.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
Promo, no incident, no incidents starting, That's what I'm calling.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
I'm starting incident starting the incident. First complaint come from me. Dan.

app wasn't working, people were throving us in reviews. I
was like, oh, the app's not working. There's nothing I
can do about it. I try not to read those.
Speaker 1 (08:22):

Speaker 3 (12:34):
Just to around some numbers, by y'all, the airport did
two and a half million rideshare rides just from the
airport alone. The average ride share ride is like thirty dollars,
