Speaker 1 (00:00):
Do you feel like there's a lot of pressure all
women to look good or look a certain type of way,
especially in hip hop, Yes, because they always say, like,
you know, sex appeal cells, and then if you're overly sexy,
then it's like, oh no, you know what I'm saying.
But then it really just depends on the person. Because
you got girls like Sukihanna, and then you got girls

(00:20):
like like really Rolls. I felt always slim. Oh yeah,
you're right and different. Yeah, I think now it's more
like you could be whoever you want to be. But
when you got a game, you felt that pressure. Yeah, definitely.
I definitely feel like I came out a time where
it was like you have to have sex appill like
you said, you came up off the Nikki era and
that was really an inspiration. And even she has come

(00:42):
out and said that she felt that pressure to get
her body done. Did you feel the pressure to get
your body or do you have any enhancements? Yes? I do,
and um yeah, I definitely did, and I actually got
my body done before I got into the music. But
I was just in that world where it's like you're
not really looked at in that in that industry, do
not really look at it. Let you look like this

(01:03):
like in like I'm saying exactly so, I feel like
that started off and name kind of is the same
thing in the music industry, like people just want you
to look way better or this bad the third and
I think that definitely came from That's quite pressure. I
pressure myself into that quarrel with me. You know, bt

(01:23):
so no real color what we see whole getting ready
about the be something. But you can't stand on the
home SUI. I already know he came ball with me
because you have let up with a squad to me,
they get as they called to me, Welcome to the
Baller Show. Podcasts available everywhere you get your podcasts. I

(01:46):
go by the name fer Our Simmons. Hey, y'all, world,
up your best Tisu solo. Let's see team with that
Chinese Kitties whatever. This wasn't schedule. Literally, you are here.
I am here. Yes. What brings Chinese Kitty to at
lant Well? First of all, for those who don't know

(02:08):
who is Chinese Kitty, Chinese Katie is a artist, female rapper, mother,
and businesswoman. Let me ask you, do you feel like
you have to say female rapper no, because I literally
just had this conversation yesterday. I'm like, um, I feel
like women should just be at a point where we

(02:28):
just say I'm rapper totally, but you know, sometimes already
like it better than your head, so I say it,
but yeah, it's a rapper. Before you get the name
Chinese Kitty from um, well, I am part Chinese. Um
my last name is King, so a lot of people
just tease me back in the day, so I always
have to tell him I was Chinese black. And then
m Kitty is just a name I've always had because

(02:52):
it was like mysterious. People used to always say I
was mysterious or whatever, and I just stufp with that,
so weeople should call me Kitty. So I was just
one day on Instagram was like, I'm gonna put it
all together and just a Chinese kid. I definitely thought
it was more sexual, Like I'm about to say everybody,
it's sexual, But I mean, that's what I'm going to
think right now, I guess because like you said, you
have such a feminine sexy or about it. I think you, yeah,

(03:16):
I know that's not what it is. Your mind together
exactly ahead. I was gonna say I was knowning you
for a while and I've definitely been seeing you even
transition into the music. When I first met you, music
wasn't the focused point. No, music was not. Music has
always been the focus point, but music was something that
I was a little shaky, okay to get into. Okay,

(03:38):
So I was saying, okay, let's say that it wasn't
the main thing that we talked about. Yeah, okay, I
guess I said, what were you doing before music? I
was at first, I was in a nightlife. I used
to bartend. So I started out at like the club
call Starlets. A lot of people know I'm so popular.

(03:58):
I feel like there's so many persons knowledgies that came
out of Startling. Yeah, came out of Starlars. I mean,
I know a Hardy came out of that. I was
a bartender. This was there was an Asian bartender who
went viral who worked at Starlars. Oh, I think Gracie, Gracie,
and it just so many of them. Yeah, there's a
lot of girls that mar name. So I definitely like

(04:20):
started from there. Shout out to Blaze, Yeah, sh out
to Startlets. When I offered Hardy d's in them. Yeah, okay, yeah,
Because when I first I met you, you extremely popular.
I was a DC, was tip DC. I was like,
how is she so popular? But then we discovered you
did music? So when did you say, you know what,

(04:41):
I'm gonna be an artist, I'm gonna be a rapper?
What may did you say? This is what I do?
So a lot of people don't know that I grew
up around music my whole entire life because my dad
and my mom's boys in industry my moments and worked
for the Source magazine, so she literally had us there
every time we get home from school. She was take
to work with there. You see all these celebrities all

(05:01):
day long. And then sending with my dad, he found
a lot of artists facting like Joe Budding Bad same
miss he man the low key guy. Huh he was managing. No,
he actually like sound them and like he was like
muscling them around and got them with DJ Clue and
then they got a deal and they had like a
whole thing called this Stopping around was my whole entire life.

(05:24):
And then when I got around like seventeen eighteen, I
was like doing my own thing. So I got a nightlife,
wanted to be outside. Then I was like, you know
what I need to go to what I've always known
and which was music. Literally I've grown up with nephew,
but music and to me being cute pretty like Instagram

(05:46):
was just now coming out side start taking pictures and stuff.
So it just happened that way. But then when I
had my son, I was like, I gotta say, my
life serious, So what is it that we're gonna do?
And I was like, music, Did you call on your
dad because he's already had to come at first he
was like I was just like to ask, like, where
you go, honest head dad about it? Yes, I came
to him. I already made the song, my first track ever,

(06:09):
already made the song and I played it for them
and it was like what is this? Oh no, nobody
even was so bad. It was so terrible. But in
that they were like, yo, your voice, so the song
you made me to come up with some better bars,
but your voice definitely stand out. Maybe you should try
it again. And then I just started practicing more, practicing, practicing,

(06:32):
studying my verse, studying better word play, studying how to
embody myself as an artist. And that's how I would
you pull the inspiration from when you made that first track?
Who was you listening to to like kind of lean
on at that time? It was nothing but nicky for me,
Okay nothing. Why didn't you go to your dad before
you made the song? Because he's not one of them.
He's not me. He's not one of those people that

(06:56):
he just gonna just go off what you say. He
got to really see pinning work like. He is one
of those people that he don't play about nothing in life.
So if this is not anything for fun his child
or not, he was like that good impactly signed independent?
I am independent right now. I'm actually signed to my

(07:17):
own label, which Kitty Game Music, and okay, yes I
do do I deal go example Empire, So we got
our own little plays. When I'm about to drop a
song and stuff like that. It's like distribution through them. Yeah, okay,
do you want to sign other artists to your label
or yeah? That's exactly why I made it. I could

(07:37):
get some more female artists, you know, for the focus
is yeah, it's female for me. Yeah okay, oh yeah
for me, and it's Kitty Game Music. I mean I
don't want to be signed today. I mean you never know.
It could be someone like a sausage Santana like yeah
to RUPs that so gay. Not your mom is extremely popular,

(07:59):
I know, said your dad has come. Not one of
them mom's is popping pop interviewing your mom like yeah, yeah,
she came to the station. No my mommy outside she
got no. I tell you, yeah, I tell I remember,
tell you. I was like, oh, I have mama Chinese

(08:21):
Kitty in here. Chinese Nikki is her name now real day? Yes? Okay, god,
yeah it was Chinese Nikki. I remember. I was like,
damn she first of all, y'all was just like we
do and she still lit turned up. Yeah, I was
gonna be that. That's how I got into that, you

(08:42):
know what I'm saying, Like she's one of those people
that she's just gonna go get her her whole, like
so she pushes in all her kids, go be a
go get her or it's like you have no other
answer when you come home. You get what I'm saying. So,
like all of us are into different things. How many
sibls do you have. It's a lot of us on
My stepdad has, which is my dad by the way,

(09:04):
he has three kids and then it's four of us, okay,
so we all intertwined. So going back to you being independent,
did your parents, you know, help you with that or
they are more on the I should be with a
major label, but I feel like for me, obviously the

(09:25):
opportunity has came, but I just wanted to be set
up in the right way and I want to be
with people that's for me and not just gonna shelve
me or just send the third And I want to
get to a place where I'm comfortable in my music
that I know that whatever I sign is gonna be
the right deal for me. So where have you learn
so far? Being independent? Business wise? There's a lot. Music

(09:45):
is a lot. I don't know why people think that
it's easy. It is not, because when you're doing everything yourself,
you gotta grind ten times more than you want to
make your label. You get what I'm saying, because it's
a lot of things you gotta pay for, like producers
and splay. It's saying, um, studio, you gotta look good, hair, makeup,

(10:07):
all that. So it's it's a lot. It's a lot.
But I know that where I'm going with it, that
it's blessed to succomb. Do you point there's a lot
of pressure all women to look good or look a
certain type of way, especially in hip hop, Yes, because
they always say, like, you know, sexy hill selves, and
then if you're overly sexy, then it's like, oh no,

(10:29):
you know what I'm saying. But then it really just
depends on the person. Because you got girls like Sukihanna,
and then you got girls like like really Rose, I
feel always slim. Oh yeah, you're right, and yeah, I
think now it's more like you could be whoever you
want to be. I feel like it was a sex
yeah exactly. Yeah, I do too. I feel like it
was a certain standard at one point, but when you

(10:51):
got a game, you felt that pressure. Yes, definitely. I
definitely feel like I came out a time where it
was like you have to have sexes. Oh they don't
think SEXI pill is though, Like like I think they're
first of all, sexy pill is relative. What sex to
the one person might not be sexy to the next. Like,
but I feel like for some reason, hip hop there
was this expectation that our women had to be super hourglass,

(11:13):
small waists, big breast, big butt, Like it was like
very precise what they felt like colored women ship look
like versus any other race. True, very true to your point.
You know, like you said, you came up off the
Nikki era and that was really an inspiration. And even
she has come out and said that she felt that
pressure to get her body done. Did you feel the

(11:33):
impresure to get your body or did you have any enhancements?
I yes, I do, and um yeah, I definitely did,
and I actually got my body downe before I got
into the music. But I was just in that world
where it's like you're not really looked at in that
in that industry and not really looked at. Let you
look like this like it's like learning what I'm saying exactly.
So I feel like that started off and name kind

(11:55):
of it's the same thing in the music industry, like
people just want you to look better or this. That
the third and I think that definitely came from that pressure.
I pressure myself into that being you're so popular and
loving hippop artists. Does that take a toll on your
personal life? Is you know, how does uh mis challenge kid?

(12:17):
You have time to be in a relationship. I barely do.
So are you talking to anybody are you? Are you single?
In a situationship? Situationship? I'm in a situation young man,
young woman? What a young man with a young man

(12:37):
is a situationship? Up? It's complicated because it's like we
come from two different world because he's in the industry.
Not in the industry mind like no law no, like
not as an entertainment. What does he do at your side? Yeah?

(12:59):
I said, a brand, it's the way. But he holds
it down and for me, like he is supportive for me,
especially all the craziness. Guy, No, he's not okay, but
he just don't try to follow him on social media. Now.

(13:20):
That's so we blocked each other on each other's blocks. Yeah,
but I still follow him from fake face shows. I
don't know. That's right. That's going on. So you feel
pressure like in nightlife and then I know it was intensified,
you know obviously, like the more popular you become, the
blocks are picking it up. You're on TV. Yeah, how
do you date with that pressure? That's what I'm saying.

(13:43):
It's a lot. It's a lot, and that's why I
do like them with the guy that I'm in a
situationship with now. But we're not like officially dating. Well,
I'm not exclusive. I can't explain it. It's like one
of them. It's a situation a girlfriend. You I am
a great girlfriend. I get playing places that I can't control,
Like the internet will say it this, and the say

(14:05):
is that he's watching it like you could be in
a student with such a such and that may get
blown out of it exactly. So that's why I then
it'll be like, oh, well we're not together, and it's
just too much, too much, that's my point. It's too
much sometimes dating being a girl like me. Speaking of
a girl like you. Roads mentioned love and hip hop,
which up. You were on Miami Front Miami for one

(14:28):
season and then I probably did like two episodes on
the second season. But to answer the question that I
know you're probably gonna ask, I hated it. I don't know.
I didn't like that you left. I liked you on.
I'm definitely a reality really star person. I'm not. I'm
not a reality TV. Yeah, Like it's my toxic thing
like it might be. It's like late night, I'm like, oh,

(14:49):
I need a little fakes real quick before I go
to bed, and I'll just like turn on something and
I definitely felt that it was heavy for you. I
felt that you first of all, I think you just
intimidate and a lot of people, whether it was just
your looks, your personality, your confidence. Like I think the
way that some people came at you, it kind of
seemed like it was out of nowhere. That's what I'm saying.

(15:09):
That's like I couldn't. I couldn't do it because I'm like,
I don't even know any of you people, Like my
mom was living in Miami. I was still living in
New York. That my mom lived at in Miami. Someone
had reached out to her. I was like, yo, I
know you have your daughter. Would you think she would
come to Miami and do the show? The both of
you guys get on it, And I was like, you know,

(15:30):
I didn't have anything going on. I was just working,
So I was like, all right, cool, And then it
was just a whole different ball game of things I
didn't even ask for or what expect it. If you
was on New York, you were leave New Dream and
I wouldn't known everybody that you know, that opportunity didn't come.
So at the moment, I was like, Okay, let me

(15:50):
take this, and I mean, I know they ain't blending them.
Now would you ever like the blending what they have?
Like the reunions and stuff like that, like good I
don't like throwing unions. I like the actual, like seasons
in the city. I like to see y'all move around
like me, people that y'all know. But did you feel
that your short time I love and hip hop did

(16:10):
it help you? Hurt you? I feel like it just
brought me a bunch of followers that just sit there
and watch me. Honest, anything I built off music, I
feel like I built off the music like I have not.
I don't think that anything came from them the hip
hop for my music, and I stand strongly behind that.
Would you go back? No, what if it was New York?
But why would you do your all reality show? Yes?

(16:32):
I do my own TV show with me and my friends,
my family, the kid because listen, my life is a
lot within itself. I have crazy friends, I have a
crazy family, crazy mom. All of that. It's just a music.
I do have a question. I'm a mental health person
and I talked about this all the time, and I

(16:53):
wanted to ask you because we talked about a whole
bunch of things mentally, How did all this affect you
and how do you navigate today? It's hard to be
very popular being mom, manager, company, being a relationship situationship, Um,
not like the television show that was on you know

(17:15):
sometimes how do you mention that? No? Sometimes I would
really be do you have something that you do? Do
you tell? My outlet is for me calling my friends
and just unloaded the clips, like yeah, you know what
I'm saying that I wanted to look like this is

(17:36):
my go to person right here? Um, and then my
mom too, to be honest, that's the answer. Like I
can literally call my mom and she's gonna have an
answer to make me feel better no matter what, Like
it'll be about relationships music. It's like she's been so
in this world, in the industry and everything so much

(17:57):
longer than me that she has so much dance for
me that helps me stick through with them, kind of
like how Kanye was with his mom. Like she's like
that for me. Like I go to her with business
everything and she's always got the best advice to me,
Like nothing spiteful, nothing, like you know, you can't trust everybody,
but sometimes a lot with like being on a blog

(18:20):
with this or that, or it does take its toll
sometimes I have to really just step back, step back.
What did that mom feel about, you know, when you
decided to do the enhancements. Does she feel that it
was right on trend because of the pressure and hip hop?
Did she try to talk you out of it? It's
sofy because you're gonna be gagging his My mom looks

(18:41):
exactly like, but that was beforehand. Like now we talked
about how it's more accepting of women to be who
they are, like we're seeing black China is doing yeah,
moving the butt shots. How do you feel about the removal?
Would you want to get stuff removed? Um? I feel
like I look perfectly fine. But if sometimes if you

(19:05):
do overdo it, it's nothing wrong with going back, like
because sometimes a surgery can get addicted, can get addicting zoo,
so people might keep you know, then they look unproportionate
and whatever it is you want to go back then
I definitely support that too. But my mom is she
don't care, She don't care. I had a crazy question.

(19:28):
You're Chinese kid, uh, I know DM's is crazy, craziest
DM you ever received from somebody? Come on, what is
the craziest DM you've ever got, or maybe what surprised
you some more like it's definitely some dirty zinc pay Okay, okay,

(19:52):
well maybe like Serena Williams, M did you me unpacking? Now,
I'm not just feeling no tea I I have probably
I will say this if you guys are gonna say this,
I don't think that there's not one guy in this
industry that has not DM. I mean when they all

(20:14):
like trying to get at you, or where they're just
friendly dms, where they like, hey, I see what it's Hey,
it's the eyes. What's up? It's the your new song
is fired, It's the all that I've been. You are
in there saying that you're a part of the crew. No,
but it's definitely nobody ever comes off this respect from now.

(20:35):
I've had one or two idiots that might have thought
that it was one way and it ain't. Some people
don't read their dms. Do you read yours? Like all
the time when I'm sitting at home here, Yeah, I do.
I even go to the ones on the side, like
the exact request. Yeah. Sometimes it's a lot of people
in there that have like inspirational stuff or like or

(20:57):
singing my music and my dudes a song, or like
grap to my song and in a car or whatever
that I want to repost. It could be anybody. Yeah,
so I think that I think you're having a fan base.
It might be important for you to check that you
never know what your fan's gonna say to you. Exact
who has said Shinye's kitty, I want to work with you,
let's get in the studio, But then it turns out
they really just want to smash. Oh damn, I forgot

(21:20):
who jobs. A lot of has come out and talked
about it, like, you know, the thing is, it's like,
no matter how musically talented, how far. And this is
why Nikki acts away she does because man, it doesn't matter.
You could come in here spitting ten times harder than them.

(21:42):
As soon as they see this, they're like what damn?
So like what she gonna on you? You're dating somebody?
Is they're gonna shoot they shot. It doesn't matter. Like
I've been in the room with people with whole wives
and still shoot their shot. And I just told you
I have a boyfriend. I just told that we here
for music. We just made a record. Why are you

(22:02):
asking me what's up. It's like or not. I just
want to do music, but they don't get that. And
then it's like the pressure as a female that it's
I act weird. I'd be like, oh, we're not gonna
say the record, where are you? So you try to
just keep this like poker face like and they keep
throwing these little like damn you look good though, or

(22:24):
it's just it's annoying. It's annoying. What's your dream collapse?
Dream collapse? Yeah you can say that, Okay, y'all answer
like yeah, all right, yeah, I think that's the drill
sound is popping right now. It is. I literally just

(22:47):
said this yesterday. I was like, yo, son, me and
Ice Spice will go great crazy crazy, Yes, okay, we
got bank. Well the boy ain't mine? What made who?
First off? Who cleared this sample? And you know, uh?
And then why don't you have to touch this classic
Brandy's boy's mind. That's a big sample. I'm not gonna

(23:07):
hold you. It's a big sample. It's a big sample.
Um was so crazy as somebody came to me with
the beat and I was going through a situation with
the X that when I just heard the song Brandy
and Monica was arguing over a dude in the song.
I had a situation where I was dating a guy

(23:29):
and my friend at the time was dating him behind
my back. When somebody had brought me to beat, I
was like, this is unreal because I'm literally just I
just found out, like a couple of days before. So
when I made the record, it was just really based
on that situation. But I just felt like the beat
just matched perfectly. Boy mine. By the lyrics, you you

(23:52):
was reading a bit, I was. I was reading her
baby directly. I mean, now that we got the backstory,
it makes it ten times real up for me. You
kissing that nigga? He tasted better? Yea, I've been dealing
with when niggas with money that ain't nothing to a
bit like me. But the part that got me and
I had to run it back. Don't be coming as

(24:14):
a woman to a bitch like like me. Yep, that's it,
that's all. Did she try to come and talk to
you about him? Yes? Uh? I woman as a woman,
a girl to girl. Can you please understand a mother
to mother because she was carrying his baby time mother

(24:34):
to mother? Could you understand that this was a mistake,
and you know, I do fuck with him, and I
did respect what y'all had going on, but the things
just happened. Girl, save it. You didn't respect you. Say
what am I supposed to do with this information? Now?
That's no nobody how long ago was let's see who

(24:57):
just had a bank? Let's have something? It was rasick?
Are you bash from my attration for sample the song? No,
because so many people are like, oh my god, everybody
wants to keep touching these classics. Just leave the classics
a lot how they came across any ok, But I
don't know. You know, everybody got something dad to say

(25:19):
about anything, but I haven't. I haven't personally seen anything yet.
I think it was a pretty good spin on it,
you know, like you said, Brandy and Monica were arguing
about a man, and you just kind of made it
current and hip hop. Okay, what's next is just full

(25:41):
artists Chinese Kitty Mo twenty twenty three. I think you're
looking for producers too. I'm looking for all thees. I'm
looking for just anything new. Sounds like I just want
to keep working at this point to thank you. Are
you gonna get into actor we saw on Miami on
MS she you know, somebody literally just sold me yesterday,

(26:06):
like you should have been on there because you're puts
on it. You match perfectly on that show that you
want to do. I think I would. I think I would.
I think if I put all of my energy into
my music this year and it goes how exact exactly
how I wanted to go, next year, I'm start doing everything.
I might be a speak car drip driver actor. Who knows?

(26:29):
Did you watching on Miami on that episode of VAMS Well,
I kept seen her on a shade room or like,
she kept posting it. What happened? It was bad, It
wasn't great, but but I mean she knows it too.
She's laughing at herself, you know, I think, Yeah, she
basically be like clowning herself, so it made it easy
for everybody. She's a good sport minute. Yeah, I got

(26:52):
a great personality. She really I love that. Let's say
quick commercial. When we come back ball Blitz, We'll be
right back with more of The Bailer Alert Show. You're
listening to a special edition of The Baller Alert Show.
What's up y'all? Your girl Chinese Kitty? Are we coming
up on the Bailer Alert Show. It's Taylor Hing. Oh yes,
