Speaker 1 (00:01):
You may have heard about the story of a lot
of farmland that's been bought up by companies directly connected
with the Chinese Communist Party the CCP. It was a
real warning sign that we witnessed when Biden was in
office and allowing the Chinese to come in and buy
up a lot of land that I and any others

(00:22):
believe shouldn't happen. Now, there were some states that took
some action. A great example of that is in Arkansas.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders did legislation in that state that was
forcing the sale by many of these organizations companies LLCs
that really had direct ties to the Chinese Communist Party.
There are also concerns about Chinese buying up land close

(00:45):
to air bases, another major problem.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Well, now we have some.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Action that is going to happen at the federal level,
something that should have been done under the Biden regime,
but they were compromised by the CCP. We know about
the money coming into the Biden crime family. And some
of this newest information that we've gotten has come from
Brook Rawlins announcing that the USDA National Farm Security Action

(01:15):
Plan is going to become a reality. What does it
mean it is going to promote agricultural prosperity and strengthen
US food supplies. The Secretary of Agriculture revealing that the
United States Department of Agriculture rolling out this new security
action plan, and they said, we've got to make sure
that it strengthens the US domestic food supply.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Now.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
During this virtual pen and pad event on Monday evening
ahead of a press conference, Rawins explained seven key action items.
One of the key action items focus on securing and
protecting American farmland.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Now.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
I want you to hear part of what she had
to say in her own words about why the seems
to happen now for all Americans.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
Perhaps the most important. The first of the seven is
securing and protecting American farmland ownership, actively engaging at every
level of government to take swift legislative and executive action
to ban the purchase of American farmland by Chinese nationals
and other foreign adversaries. Standing on the shoulders of great governors,

(02:22):
three of whom are standing behind me, who have already
been leading the way on this issue, and at the
federal government level, working to do everything within everything within
our ability, including presidential authorities, to claw back what has
already been purchased by China and other foreign adversaries. Additionally,
working with the Treasury of the Secretary of the Treasury,

(02:46):
along with our Defense Department on memorandums to ensure that
moving forward, there is a much more intentional look at
who is buying what in this country and from where
they are in the world. Also enhancing our agricultural supply

(03:07):
chain resilience. Also protecting our US nutrition safety net from
fraud and foreign exploitation.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
Number four.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Defending agricultural research and innovation. No more sweetheart deals and
secret packs with countries that do not have our best
interests in mind. Number five making sure that America First
is in every USDA program, from farm loans to food safety.
We have already canceled seven active agreements with entities in
foreign countries of concern and will continue to cancel additional

(03:38):
agreements moving forward. I signed a memo today today, thank you,
which immediately removes seventy seventy citizens from countries of concerns
that currently are affiliated with the USDA through contracts or
research arrangements, and we are working to issue regulatory action

(03:59):
to remove over five hundred and fifty entities from foreign
countries of concern from our preferred catalog. Number six safeguarding
plant and animal health, working to make sure that we
know what is coming in and how to control animal diseases.
And number seven, protecting critical infrastructure from our farms and

(04:20):
our food and our supply chains. Again, along with so
many partners across this government here in Washington and across
our states.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
This is obviously long overdue. It's a very important initiative
here because it is going to get rid of She
mentioned rooting out fraud, rooting out abuse, and rooting out
foreign adversaries that are posing a real threat. She says
to US Nutrition Safety Net and food stamp programs as well.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
She said, not only are we going to secure protect
the American.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
Farmland, but within number one, and that's the number one
thing of the top seven, we all.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Know that land owned by.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Foreign nationals compose a threat to national security and future
economic prosperity too much American land, notice how you use
the word American land is owned by nationals of adversarial countries.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
But first I got to ask you a question.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
Are you one of those that is just so tired
of giving your money to radical left woke companies that
actually are fighting against your values every day.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Well, there are certain bills that you pay.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Every month that if you can go with a conservative company,
why not do it? In fact, why not go with
a conservative company actually takes part of your bill every
month that you're going to pay to somebody, and they
give it back to organizations that support your First and
your Second Amendment rights, that support the rights of unborn children,
that stand with our military, are first responders, and so

(05:51):
many wounded warriors that need help. Well, that bill I'm
talking about is your cell phone bill. And I've been
telling you for a long time about Patriot Mobile. But
there's no better time to switch than right now. Not
only does Patriot Mobile operate on all three major networks
in this country, yeah, all three. That means you get
the same great coverage you're used to right now, but

(06:13):
you also make a difference with every call you make
and every text you make. And why would you want
to give your money a big mobile? Big Mobile has
been giving big donations to democratic causes, democratic candidates, and
radical left organizations. I'm talking about organizations that actually support abortion.
That is why I want you to switch right now

(06:34):
to Patriot Mobile go ahead and make the switch, and
it's so easy. All you have to do is simply
call Patriot Mobiles one hundred percent US based team from
the comfort of your home or your office and they'll
have you activated in minutes. And if you're still locked
in a contract, not a problem. Patriots Mobile contract buyout
program covers up to five hundred dollars per device, Keep

(06:57):
your same number, keep your phone, or upgrade a new one.
So back to my point, what are you waiting for?
Call Patriot Mobile today and make a difference every single
day with every call you make. Patriot Mobile dot com
slash ferguson. That's Patriot Mobile dot com slash ferguson or
nine seven to two Patriot. And if you use the

(07:18):
promo code ferguson, you're gonna get a free month of
service on top of that Patriot Mobile dot com slash
ferguson or nine seven two Patriot. That's Patriotmobile dot com
slash ferguson ninety seven to two Patriot. Now, when you
think about the breakdown of what this is, we're talking
about two hundred and sixty five thousand acres in the

(07:39):
United States of America alone that are owned by Chinese nationals. Now,
you got to ask yourself, why are Chinese nationals This
is not Americans. This is Chinese nationals who have direct
ties to China, many of them directly the CCP. Why
are they buying up two hundred and fifty thousand acres
of land in the United States of America? And why

(08:01):
is so much of the two hundred sixty five thousand
acres located near critical US military basis? Now this isn't
like just like a reserve base, Okay, And I'm not
saying those aren't important, But my point is these acres
that they're buying up.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Are very very very very very.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Clearly being bought I think for surveillance reasons. Why would
you go in buy farmland right next to a critical
US military base and not just one bases? Plural is
the way that it's been described. Two hundred and sixty
five thousand acres is massive. By the way, just put
in perspective, do you know how much land traditionally you

(08:42):
have to have to be able to like have a
farm and to hunt on your land ten acres? Think
about how many American farms that is ten acres is
the minimum for you to basically be able to do
what you want to do and have your kind of
land freedom.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
As it's described. They bought up two.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
Hundred and sixty five thousand eight just own not by
internationals in general, just owned by Chinese nationals, and many
of those acres are right next to our military basis.
Now you may ask yourself a question, all right, why
would they want to buy a plan next to a
military basis?

Speaker 2 (09:14):
A great question.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
China, it does an amazing job when it comes to
using drones.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
This is one of the concerns now.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
They're drones on all of their drones just so you understand,
coming in from the CCP look like the drones that
you and I would buy or use. For example, you've
seen a lot of them on TV recently with search
and rescue in what's happening in Texas. The drone technology
that China has, they have birds, okay, drones that look

(09:44):
like birds that would be flying over and you would
have no idea that it is filming military operations, you know,
basically taking a cad drawing of military bases, seeing when
certain groups of individuals and certain million military organizations are
leaving or coming and going. That could be a tell
to what's about to happen militarily next around the world.

(10:08):
Sealed Team exercises a great example of this. They have
drones that are that are not big like we traditionally have.
They now have drones that literally fly like a bird
and they get and they use it for surveillance.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
It's incredible. So this is such a.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
Smart move by the Trump administration and it is a
real threat to us. When she said the second pillar
is enhancing the resilience of agricultural supply chain, it's another thing.
If you take people's food away from them, or you
take away their ability to protect themselves from others being
able to, you know, spoil their food, come after food,
poison their food. There's a lot of ways that you

(10:48):
can use food to come after people. That is another problem.
So this is just a couple different examples of what
is happening right now and a couple of different examples
of why it's so important that we get this legislation
done and we start it now and we do this quickly.
So job well done the Trump administration on this one.

(11:10):
And I wanted to make sure I brought it to
your attention. I want to move now to another issue
that's really important. It also deals with our safety and
national security, and it's one of those issues that is
actually the issue of tariffs. The President having a cabinet
meeting at the White House and making it very clear
that he is getting tough and staying tough on tariffs.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
I'll give you a great example.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
South Africa is now facing a thirty percent US tariff
hike plus a ten percent surcharge for anti American.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
Policies, and he's not messing around.

Speaker 4 (11:44):
Now.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
I'm going to give you more details on that part
in a second, but before we get to that, I
want you to hear the President in his own words
at the cabinet meeting at the White House. And here's
what he said about the letters that we've been sitting
out in the past on tariffs and what we're doing now.

Speaker 5 (11:58):
Big bills.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
What happened to ninety trade deals in ninety days.

Speaker 5 (12:06):
Oh, we've spoken to everybody. We know everything. We've been
told them. I told you, I told you, we'll make
some deals. But for the most part, we're going to
send a letter. We're going to say, welcome to the
United States, if you'd like to participate in the greatest,
most successful country. Ever, I mean, we're doing better than
ever we have I don't think, and you're going to

(12:27):
see these numbers. So we've never had numbers like this,
We've never had investment like this. We have more than ninety,
We're going to have much more than ninety, but most
of those are going to be sent a letter. This
is exactly what I said. Now, we've made a deal
with the United Kingdom, we've made a deal with China,
we've made a deal, we're close to making a deal
with India. Others we met with and we don't think

(12:47):
we're going to be able to make a deal, so
we just send them a letter. If you want to,
if you want to play ball, you have to This
is what you have to pay. So we as far
as I'm concerned, we're done with sending out letters to
various countries telling of how much tariffs they have to pay.
Some will maybe adjust a little bit depending if they
have a you know, cause we're not going to be

(13:07):
unfair about it.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
And actually it's a small.

Speaker 5 (13:10):
Fraction compared to what we should be getting. We should
be we could be asking for much more, but for
the sake of relationships that we've had with a lot
of really good countries. We're doing the way I do it,
but we could be getting a lot more. We could
ask for a lot more than what we're asking for, Josh.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
Because we're sending the letters to follow on the head
and ask earlier, and your counties has deals.

Speaker 5 (13:33):
By saying here's the terift rate, I'm saying here it
is congratulations, welcome to the United States. I hope you
make a lot of money, and you're going to pay
us money. They were ripping us. They were charging us
tariffs at levels that nobody's ever seen before. We have
some countries who are charging two hundred percent tariffs and
making it impossible to do business. And what the tariffs

(13:55):
are doing is they're driving people in and companies in
into the United States. That's why we're built all of
the work that you see happening in this country right now,
and it's at a record level, all the factories, all
of the AI institutions that are being built.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
It's largely because.

Speaker 5 (14:11):
Well I think it's because of November fifth, the good election,
and I think it's because of the taffs. Thank you
all very much, thank you, thank you.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
So the President laying out where we're going moving forward,
which brings me back to what I said about South
Africa and is now one of fourteen countries that have
been slapped with large tariff increases by President Donald Trump
on Monday as a quote punitive measure for lack of
progress in negotiations, and now they're facing a thirty percent duty.

(14:42):
In addition, South Africa as one of the Bricks countries,
which includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, among others,
they could face an additional ten percent for anti American
policies now. Donald Trump, to be clear, had suspended the
imposition of the tariffs that he announced in April until
July ninth, but began sending letters this week to countries,

(15:05):
including close trading partners, that he felt that there had
not been enough that had gotten done. USA Today reporting
it this way, saying, quote President Donald Trump revealed new
tariff rates on fourteen countries and extended until August one
to pause on higher rates that was due to expire
July ninth, and separate July seventh letters to each targeted country.

(15:28):
Trump said he will impose twenty five percent tariffs on
goods from Malaysia Tunisia, Kazakhstan thirty percent tariff rates on
imports from South Africa and forty percent tariffs from Mirmar
and Laos. Now, products from Cambodia and Thailand will receive
thirty six percent tariffs, while Serbia and Bangladesh will face

(15:51):
a rate of thirty five percent. Trump and the Indonesian
partners would have a They say imports would have a
thirty two percent tariff and goods from Bosnia would also.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
Be tariff at thirty percent.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
Now, Trump's message to South Africa was posted on his
true social side, along with letters to other leaders in
other countries. Now, the South African government and the South
African media had largely been complementary of the President in
South Africa's contentious White House meeting in May, but they
overlooked the fact that the president came without any compromise

(16:27):
to offer, and then he left without achieving any agreements,
which is now putting their trade at real risk. Now
South Africa has tweaked the US on foreign policy issues,
recently signing a book of condolence at the Iranian embassy
after the US bomb the country's nuclear site. Again, that's

(16:50):
why the president said, oh, and we're going to slap
you with that additional ten percent anti American policies tariff,
because clearly you're trying to undermine this country. Now, I
tell you all of that to go back to how
quickly things can change. Trump has also come out within
the last couple hours and said that the US is

(17:10):
actually close to making a deal with protectionist India. President
Trump telling reporters this administration is close to finalizing a
trade deal with India. India heads it's bets last week
by notifying the World Trade Organization Knows the WTO that
it could impose up to seven hundred and twenty four

(17:31):
million in retaliatory tariffs against American goods if a trade
deal is not reached, so that would be significant. We
are doing better than ever, is what Trump said to
reporters while meeting with the Israeli Prime Minister net Yai
with the White House, saying, quote, We've never had numbers
like this, We've never had investment like this.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
Referring to bring jobs back.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
To America, Trump said his administration now has more than
ninety trade proposals that are on the table, saying, quote,
now made a deal with the United Kingdom. We've made
a deal with China, We're getting close to making a
deal with India. Others we meet with and we don't
think are going to be able to make a deal, Well,
then guess what.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
We just sent them a letter.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
The letter in question, Trump said, would cordially invite nations
that did not make a deal to continue doing business
with the greatest, most successful country ever, provided that they
are willing to pay much higher tariffs. We're sending out
the letters of these various countries telling them how much
tariffs they have to pay. Some will maybe adjust a

(18:35):
little bit, depending if they have a cause. He went
on to explain, We're not going to be unfair about it,
and actually it's a small fraction compared to what we
should be getting.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
We should be we could be asking for much more.

Speaker 1 (18:49):
The President went on to say, Now, the list of
countries that have received those sorry we couldn't make a
deal with tariff letters, the White House is saying is Thailand, Miramar, Bangladesh,
South Africa, South Korea, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, and Japan.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
The new tariffs that are scheduled to.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
Take effect now August one, so there's still a little
time for these countries to avoid the higher levels by
changing their trade policies with the US. Now, if they
do not make a deal those fourteen countries, the White
House says, we'll face from twenty five percent for Japan
and South Africa up to forty percent for mermar and Laos,

(19:25):
and the President saying again, we're going to be very busy.

Speaker 2 (19:29):
Over the next seventy two hours.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
We're going to be sending the letters out to our
trading partners, saying that if you don't move things along,
then on August one, you're going to be well boomeranging
back to your April to second tariff levels. So I
think we're going to see a lot of deals very quickly,
is what the Treasury Secretary Scott Bissent said as well today. Now,
the Indian negotiating team, which returned from Washington on Friday

(19:52):
after a week of meetings with their US counterparts, reportedly
sought a quote mini trade deal that would be good
enough to hold Tarif at bay for a bit longer
until the quote more delicate issues can be worked out. India,
which saw twenty five percent tariffs impose on passenger vehicles,
light trucks, and auto parts in March, wrote a letter

(20:14):
as I said a moment ago to the WTO, claiming
that the Trump tariffs violated They said the nineteen ninety
four trade agreement at the heart of the World Trade
Organization India.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
By the way, calculate, the US.

Speaker 1 (20:28):
Tariffs would affect nearly two point nine billion worth of
imports the United States for a total of seven hundred
and twenty three point seventy five million in tariffs.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
So New Delhi.

Speaker 1 (20:39):
Would impose, they say, an equivalent amount of duty collected
from products originating in the United States of America as
their retaliatory tariff.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
What does this mean?

Speaker 1 (20:50):
Simply put one thing, the presence not backing down and
make it clear you better get a deal done quickly
or face the consequences. I want to move on to
something else, and that is what's happening right now in La.
It has not been reported on much because of the
devastation of the flooding in Texas, and our thoughts and
prayers are still with so many in Texas As. Many

(21:14):
are planning funerals now, they're still looking for the bodies
of those that have been lost, and it is just
absolutely tragic. If you miss what I had to say
on this yesterday, go back and listen to that show.
But there's another story that's important, and that is the
anti ice protests that have taken over in LA taken
over the Los Angeles Bridge, and the ACLU is now

(21:34):
filing a lawsuit. I want you to hear this coming
from Fox News about what's happening there now.

Speaker 4 (21:41):
Taking over the Sixth Street Bridge one of several rallies
in a citywide day of action against immigration raids.

Speaker 5 (21:47):
This bridge has been the entry point fu Boil Heights
to kidnap community members and take them who knows where.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
So that was an inspiration.

Speaker 4 (21:56):
CHP standing by the freeway off ramps. The group's staying
on the bridge for a while, but eventually moving on
to Royal Heights in Koreatown. Meanwhile, Blessings at another rally,
the coalition of groups including the Tenants Union, marching peacefully
with the message.

Speaker 5 (22:12):
We're here to support the Jornalletos A vendors and all
the immigrants in Los Angeles and making sure.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
That we retake these streets. We protect each other.

Speaker 5 (22:20):
This is the only way that we find we're finding
our safety. So we're making community, We're reaching out to
our neighbors and protecting each other.

Speaker 1 (22:27):
Now you can hear these protests becoming a reality. And
then things got worse with the Los Angeles radical Democratic
mayor Karen Bass sparking controversy on social media this week
after she attempted to interfere with ICE agents conducting immigration raids,
calling it outrageous and quote Unamerican. Yes, the LA mayor

(22:49):
are saying it's un American if you don't let people
that break in this country, and many of them that
are criminals stay. Now, she has been a vocal opponent
of immigration raids in her city, appeared at the scene
and demonstrated to well anyone that would film her on
camera because she's one of those psycho narcissists. She also

(23:11):
demanded to speak with ICE leadership when the agents were
conducting an operation at MacArthur Park on Monday, saying they
need to leave.

Speaker 2 (23:19):
They need to leave right now.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
They need to leave because this is unacceptable, is what
Bass said on the scene.

Speaker 2 (23:24):
Now.

Speaker 1 (23:24):
Bass claimed on social media there were children playing at
the park, which is well known in the area as
a hotbed of homelessness.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
And crime, even during daylight hours.

Speaker 1 (23:34):
Minutes before, by the way, there were more than twenty
kids playing. She claimed, then the military came through. The
second I heard about this, I went to the park
to speak to the person charge to tell them it
need to end.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
Now, absolutely outrageous.

Speaker 1 (23:48):
Well Bass's action, sparking immediate pushback from critics online, saying this,
if only Karen Bass worked as hard for the fire
victims in LA as she does for criminal illegals. That's
what Dara Isa, who represents California's forty eighth congressional district,
said on X.

Speaker 2 (24:07):
Another one saying it this way.

Speaker 1 (24:09):
Democrats aren't used to seeing the law being enforced. That's
what the communications director for the Florida Republican AG saying
on X. But luckily Karen was able to speak to
the manager, mocking her going into that park losing her
mind for the cameras. Now, the federal government would not

(24:29):
have to deploy against foreign invaders if you would just
stop harboring them, is what GOP represented Mike Collins said.
And here's another one. If you did your job, these
guys wouldn't need to do theirs.

Speaker 6 (24:43):
Now.

Speaker 1 (24:43):
MacArthur Park is a vile, filthy, drug infesseig gang blankole
worthy of Karen Mass is what actor James Woods said,
saying the Kammie Loser would be happier in Cuba.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
So this is where we are.

Speaker 1 (24:57):
Democrats are supporting those that are criminals over Americans right now.
Her city, by the way, has managed to issue like
ten rebuilding permits for the victims of the Palisades fire.
But what is she doing instead of helping those Americans. Yeah,
she's focused like a laser on protecting MS thirteen gang members.
That's another example of just how radical the left has become.

(25:21):
And in addition to social media fallout, the border patrol
chief also saying to Fox News that he was the
official that Bass spoke to on the phone at the
scene when she demanded the ray to stop saying this.

Speaker 2 (25:35):
I don't work for Kiaren Bass.

Speaker 1 (25:37):
Better get used to us now because this is going
to be very normal. We will go anywhere anytime we
want in Los Angeles. Another example of the Trump administration
doing what they promised to voters, getting the worst criminals
that are legal immigrants out of this country.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
Now.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
Finally, one other update I want to give you about
what has been happening in Texas. A mother is now
crediting a Brave Camp counselors for her two sons escaping
the Texas flooding. It's an incredible story of the lives
that been saved, and I want you to hear what
she had to say on Fox News Channel.

Speaker 7 (26:19):
Let's bring in Kelly Raybon, whose two boys escaped the
flooding from another camp about six miles north of Camp
Missed It. Kelly, thank you for being with us camp.
You're probably still shaking.

Speaker 4 (26:33):
From all of this.

Speaker 7 (26:34):
I can't even imagine what this was like. So give
us a sense of this story. As you started to
understand that something was going on on the river along
where all of these camps are.

Speaker 6 (26:46):
So on July fourth, we received a text that was
sent out to all of the parents that said that
they had sustained high waters overnight, but you know that
they were trying to keep the campers safe as best
as possible. And at that point, you know, you think, okay, well,

(27:07):
maybe there's just a lot of rain. But once I
turned on the news, and I live in Houston and
so that's four hours away from me, so I had
to I had to really work to find more information out.
But once I saw this statement from Camp Mystic that
you know, if you're if your daughter is okay, if
you've not been notified yet, I thought, oh my gosh,

(27:30):
this is far more serious than that initial text message
would have led me to believe. And then within a
couple of hours I decided I needed to get in
the car and go, you know, a mom on a
mission to get to my kids.

Speaker 7 (27:45):
So I know your sons talked about it. Tell us
how old your boys are and their names. I know
that you know they've had en off of talking about this.
I completely understand. But can you tell us what they
said about what happened and what they remember.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
Yes.

Speaker 6 (28:01):
So, Brandon, my nine year old, this was his third
year to attend Camp la Hunt and Brock just now
seven year olds turned seven two weeks ago. This was
his first time to attend camp, and they'd only been
there for one full day at this point. They arrived
late Wednesday afternoon, so one full day there, and you

(28:24):
know what they said was as the water in Brock's cabin,
he was in one of three cabins that ended up,
you know, underwater and flooding, and as the water started
to come in his brave camp counselors, who were really
just kids themselves, college kids, they encouraged the boys to

(28:44):
get on the first bunk, and then to get on
the second bunk, and before you know it, they were
lifting the little boys up to the rafters to keep
them out of harm's way, as the windows were breaking,
as the door was coming off, as a wall was
coming down. I just can't imagine how terrifying this was.
And it was happening, you know, as there was as

(29:06):
it was dark, no power. You know, you're so unfamiliar
in this situation. How do you ever prepare for that?

Speaker 7 (29:12):
Yeah, we're looking at these charts. It rose twenty five
feet in one hour in the area of Camp Mystic.
So how high were they on the top? How high
was the water in the cabin? And then did they
how did they get out of there?

Speaker 6 (29:27):
So my seven year old rock he said that the
water was probably he estimated about three plus feet in
his cabin. Now, you know, he is still in a
state of shock and kind of slowly processing what all
he remembers, but he remembers it being at least high

(29:47):
enough to break the window out. And the camp director,
Scott bravely came at the end to get them out
of the cabins, pulling them down from the afters and
taking them to safety. Brydon, meanwhile, was in a higher
elevated cabin and so his cabin, while it didn't receive

(30:09):
any water, it took in a bunch of boys who
were in flooded cabins and then you know, they were
just left to kind of they didn't know what was
going on. They just entertained each other all day long
as best they could.

Speaker 7 (30:21):
So what are your thoughts on this whole thing? You know,
would you send them back to camp given what happened?
How do you feel about it?

Speaker 6 (30:31):
I need to think it through, but I can tell
you that Braydon, my older one with you know, two
summers of camp under his belt, says in a heartat
he would go back, and he really hopes. One of
the reasons why they were, you know, have been talking
about it and were comfortable with me talking about it
is because they wanted to represent the pride that they

(30:52):
have in camp, law Hunter. And I remember as a
child the hill country camps that I attended. What a
difference is made for me? And so, I mean, this
is a massive tragedy, but as with tragedies, hopefully we
learn major, major lessons from this. And so, you know,

(31:13):
I'm just so hopeful that we can really take a
hard look at at what went wrong and why.

Speaker 1 (31:19):
God bless our first responders and all those that are
helping those in Texas right now.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
And we appreciate you listening every day. We'll see you
back here tomorrow.
