Speaker 1 (00:01):
Over fifty Texas House Democrats, including sixty two members total
in the lower chamber, have left Texas, traveling to Illinois,
New York, and Massachusetts. Well, at least they're consistent up
there being sanctuary states and cities. Why to deny quorum
and block a GOP back congressional redistricting plan that would
(00:25):
likely add up to five new Republican leaning US House seats,
That is the claim by Democrats and why they're now
fleeing the state now. This strategy mirrors previous walkouts in
twenty twenty one and in two thousand and three in Texas,
where the quorum rules were used to slow down legislation.
(00:45):
Governor Greg Abbott has now responded, issuing a three pm
Monday ultimatum for Democrats to return or face serious consequences.
He threatened to quote invoke a twenty twenty one Age
opinion allowing courts to clear seats vacant due to intentional
quote abandonment of office. He also could seek civil arrest
(01:10):
warrants for absent members, valid only however, inside of Texas,
which is why so many Democrats have fled to liberal states. Also,
he can investigate potential felony charges. For fundraising to pay
the five hundred dollars a day fines that are being
imposed by the House rules. Now, the Texas House passed
(01:33):
an eighty five to six vote authorizing the Sergeant in
Arms to issue civil arrest warrants for those that were
purposely absent. Now. Breaking quorum, by the way, is not
a crime, making extradition impossible. Abbott cannot legally compel lawmakers
(01:53):
to return from other states directly, is what is being
said now by Politico. Declarations of vacancy would require individual
court action in each lawmaker's district, potentially years of litigation,
and would delay redistricting beyond the December twenty twenty five
deadline for the twenty twenty six primaries. And that's exactly
(02:17):
why Democrats are playing this game. Texas Democrats maintain they
are quote standing up for democratic norms, not running away.
You can decide how ridiculous they actually are in your
own minds. But many of the representatives are now taking
more heat. Why because they are prioritizing the Democrats' agenda
(02:41):
over prioritizing flood relief. Yes, that was one of the
issues on the table that they're now fleeing from. I'll
give you just another example of also how many liberal
cities are helping them and states. The Illinois governor Pritzker
publicly back to the lawmakers' actions, calling them a courageous
(03:01):
defense of democracy and saying welcome to Illinois. Democrats are
characterizing the Governor of Texas Abbot's threats as quote smoking mirrors,
pointing out that constitutional tools like quorum breaks are legitimate
devices they say to use under Texas law. All Right,
I want to take a moment talk about the economy.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Now.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
Greg Abbott, the Text governor, he's not playing around at
all with what the Democrats are doing. In fact, he
gave them a three pm deadline to get back to
the House chambers. The Democrats did not comply, And after
that he sat down with Sean Hannity on his show
on Fox News, and I want you to hear exactly
what the governor had to say.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Very latest from Austin is Texas Governor, Greg Abbott, Governor.
When I look, I have a whole sheet here of
every single Democratic state and it's just like the examples
I put up there. They have jerry mandered their states
left right, sideways. They're saying, well, they're going to do
to their states what you're doing in Texas. They already
(06:25):
did it in all of these blue states. Frankly, Republicans
should have caught up a long time ago.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
Well, Sean, first of all, Texas is doing what we
are allowed to by the law. And one reason why
that law exists the way that it does is because
the Democrats brought a lawsuit after our last redistricting and
that decision, and that lawsuit came out last year, and
that lawsuit recognized that coalition districts are not required, and
so Texas has a right to readraw these lines to
(06:52):
fully represent the desires of every voter in the state.
But Sean, that misses the point here. The point here
is that Democrats have done something that's very untexed. They've
turned their backs on their fellow Texans. When it came
to a fight, they turn and ran away. Not just
from this redistricting fight, they ran away from dealing with
the flooding issues that they are still echoing across the
(07:15):
Curveville area. Families desperately need results from the state legislature
in this thirty day special session that are not going
to be delivered because Democrats are hanging out in Chicago
and New York and other places.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
Yeah, all right, let me run through the states. California
Republicans thirty nine percent of the House vote, but they
only have seventeen percent of the seats. Connecticut Republicans forty
percent of the House vote, zero seats, none zip Illinois
twenty twenty four Republicans. They got a pretty respectable forty
seven percent of the statewide vote, eighteen percent of House seats. Maryland,
(07:51):
one of the bluest states, Trump gets thirty five percent,
but they only have twelve percent of House seats. Massachusetts
again zero seats. Nevada is even worse for Republicans win
the state. They won the state House by ten points,
walked away with one single House seat in the entire state.
That's it. So this has been the practice of these
(08:14):
states for the longest period of time. Now they want
to attack you, and I'm thinking, Okay, what you're doing
is exactly what they did.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
Well, and not even that sean To be honest, the
Texas maps are not going to be as extreme as
those other blue states that you talked about. But another thing,
and that is what Texas is doing under these new maps.
Four of the five new seats will be a majority
Hispanic seats. One of the seats is going to restore
the Barbara Jordan's seat over in the Houston area. And
(08:42):
so these are seats where Democrats are having to come
to grips with the reality, and that is they are
now losing the votes of Hispanics and black voters in
the state of Texas, and these districts are going to
show that Hispanics in Blacks as well as others are
voting for Republican and republic is their candadate of choice,
and we will ensure that will be achieved at the
(09:03):
congressional level. In the stead of Texas.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
Well, certainly it should be somewhat proportional to what the
vote is. What is your response to Kathy Hockel who
says that we are at war over Texas and the
redistricting push that's going on in Texas.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
There's a bunch of crazy bluster. Democrats are freaking out
because they are realizing Texas has the authority to redistrict
and we're going to do so in a way that's
going to lead to these additional seats that will vote
Republican and they will be serving in Congress in the
next session. And so Democrats are freaking out about it,
engaging in rhetoric, but I don't think they have the
(09:40):
capability of actually living up to it and doing anything
about it. Texas will continue to fight for what is right,
and that's exactly what we are doing.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
Is it a fair statement to say that Republicans in
terms of the percentages and numbers that they have voted
have been unfairly cheated out of their representa. I think
that's a more fair statement.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
Well, a different way to say it, and that is
at least in Texas about states, Yeah, and I'll talk
about both. In Texas, we are going to ensure that
voters are going to be able to vote for their
candidate of choice. For example, I think Donald Trump won
and all five of these seas that we will be
making Republican seats. The same thing should apply in all
(10:22):
those other states. Sean that you mentioned in your monologue
where you pointed out the gross jurymandering in these blue
states have rejected Republican candidates for office that should be
serving those states, should be serving our country. It's the
jerrymandering in the blue states that has started the politics
in America.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
Yeah. If you want to know who's actually jerrymandering in
this country, it's clearly Democrats in all of the Democratic
states that were mentioned there. In a major move to
protect all Americans, the White House were now being told
is preparing a new executive order that would find banks, small, medium,
(11:02):
and the largest for dropping customers for political reasons. The
Wall Street Journal is reporting on it now. The order
directs bank regulators to investigate whether any financial institutions might
have violated the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, antitrust laws, or
(11:23):
consumer financial protection laws, the Journal reported, citing a draft
text of the order. The order, which could be signed
as early as this week, provides for monetary penalties, consent decrees,
or other disciplinary measures against violators. The order also directs
(11:43):
regulators to strike policies they have that might have contributed
to banks dropping certain customers, and requires the Small Business
Association to review the practices of banks that guarantee the
agency's loans out This is a major move for protecting
(12:04):
specifically conservatives that have been debanked by large banks and
small banks alike. There are many in the Second Amendment
community that have also been debanked as well. There are
Christian organizations that have been debanked, missionary organizations that have
been debanked, and Conservative organizations that have been debanked, especially
(12:28):
during the Biden years. Now the President saying you can't
do that. It's un American and we're not going to
allow it to stand now. Reuters is also reporting at
this hour that the White House is apparently working on
this at a rapid pace because they believe it is
time to hold banks accountable that targeted people specifically for
(12:52):
their political beliefs. Now, after speaking with people at the
White House late this afternoon, here's what I can also
tell you. The White House, I've been told, is in
fact preparing an executive order that would empower the regulators
to penalize banks for quote, terminating customer relationships based on
(13:12):
political beliefs. These penalties could include hefty fines, I'm being told,
and also disciplinary actions. Now, financial regulators would be instructed
to investigate potential breaches not only the Equal Credit Opportunity
Act I mentioned earlier and antitrust laws, but also consumer
(13:32):
protection regulations by banks accused of politically motivated actions against
those who had bank accounts at their bank. The draft
order also calls on policymakers to revoke existing internal bank
policies that actually may have led to politically motivated account closures,
(13:53):
and directs the Small Business Administration to review loan back
practices that could involve similar issues as well. Now, although
no banks are mentioned by name, the order appears tied
to public criticism of major institutions such as JP, Morgan Chase,
and Bank of America accused of severing ties with conservative clients,
(14:19):
a charge that of course they strongly deny, and the
Wall Street Journal has reported on this extensively recently. Now,
according to others, the order could be signed, like I
said this week, potentially spelling major trouble for big banks. Now,
this move reflects Donald Trump's ongoing concern, especially from conservative circles,
(14:43):
about political bias or debanking and financial services. It forms
part of a broader regulatory agenda to ensure economic institutions
remain neutral and customers aren't penalized for political beliefs. At
the end of the day, the President of the United
States to America wants to make sure you're not targeted
because you voted for him, and in the future, to
(15:06):
make sure that no matter who you vote for, you're
not targeted by a bank. Now, the order has not
been officially issued yet, and there's a very good chance
there will be changes that are made in the coming
days and hours. Banks and regulators also are remaining relatively quiet,
and the White House is saying they're willing to talk,
(15:28):
but there's many that are scared what may be coming
down the pipeline. And the big question is this which
agencies are actually going to lead enforcement oversight I'm being
told is likely going to be by federal banking regulators,
the Department of Justice, and the SPA. Implementation details are
(15:49):
going to work through the White House and the hours
and days ahead at the end of the day. What
does this mean, Well, it means that Donald Trump's looking
out for conservatives that had been targeted solely because of
our political beliefs, and that's exactly why so many Americans
voted for him.
Speaker 4 (16:08):
Now.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
Donald Trump has also talked a lot recently about many
concerts being debanked At the World Economic Forum and Davos.
Back in January, Trump addressed the CEOs of the largest
US banks and made it clear he called out Bank
of America CEO Brian Mornihan and indirectly JP Morgan's Jamie
(16:28):
Diamond saying, quote, many concertis complained that the banks are
not allowing them to do business. You've done a fantastic job,
but I hope you start opening your banks to conservatives
because what you're doing is wrong. He expressed concerns that
consertives are being excluded from bank services, implying it may
be politically motivated or regulator driven under the Biden administration,
(16:54):
saying quote, I don't know if regulators mandated that because
of Biden. Now, Trump's remarks revived a larger conservative narrative
around the banking the claim that banks are systematically cutting
off accounts that are tied to conservative values or industries
like firearms, fossil fuels, and also crypto. His criticism prompted
(17:18):
regulatory and legislative attention as well, including a Senate Banking
Committee hearing back in February and scrutiny from state attorney generals.
On top of that, conservative states and political actors also
pressured banks like Bank of America JP, Morgan City Group,
and Goldman Sachs to clarify their policies. Now, despite these claims,
(17:42):
banks have repeatedly denied alleging any political bias. They assert
account closures are quote tied to compliance with anti money
laundering rules, risk policies, and regulatory mandates, not ideology. Now,
the reason why the President used a high profile venue
(18:02):
at the World Economic Forum was to amplify conservative concerns
about access to financial services. The remarks underpin regulatory movement
that we're now witnessing in real time and the White
House Executive Order on Political based account Closures is another
example of that. Look, the President of the United States
(18:23):
of America set it clear when he was running. My
job is to protect all Americans. And also, this is
one of the reasons why he's advocating so much for crypto.
As Donald Trump signed that crypto bill into law. Here's
part of what change would that take.
Speaker 5 (18:39):
A listen a fed share far earlier than anyone expects,
so too late's voice can be totally nullified.
Speaker 6 (18:46):
All right, And Trump today at the White House, he
was having such a great time. He's ignoring some of
the other controversies out there are the other noise on that.
But he signs this major crypto bill into law. A
lot of people thought it never could happen. He got
the Republicans on board. This will make us, he says,
competitive with China. Check it out.
Speaker 4 (19:08):
This afternoon, we take a giant step to cement the
American dominance of global finance and crypto technology. And we
want to have it not China, and China wasn't actually
have they were watching this day.
Speaker 6 (19:20):
They like it.
Speaker 4 (19:21):
And we've got this, We've got Ai. We've got a
lot of great ones happening.
Speaker 6 (19:28):
James, what do you think turned Trump on the crypto issue?
Speaker 5 (19:33):
Well, I think President Trump recognizes that the rising economy
of crypto does lift all boats. When Americans have access
to other banks at a time when folks have been
rightly concerned about being dbanked, they have access to stable coins.
That means that it's impossible for them to be thrown
off for the wrong tweet about vaccine mandates, for standing
up for the President's unbelievable economic agenda. And so the
(19:53):
President recognizes that to compete with China, it isn't simply
about giving Secretary headsapt all the resources he needs at
the Defense Apartment. It also means working to enable ourselves
to be economic powerhouses. Yes, and the real economy, Laura,
but also in this new alternative age of artificial intelligence
and of crypto.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
He's exactly right. This is why Donald Trump is pushing
so hard for other avenues so that Americans cannot have
to worry that banks have all the power over them
and their money. Cashpatel has now come out and is
calling out the lying media after the discovery of quote
(20:33):
secret burn bags. You notice there's a trend here with
the deep state and what we're now finding out after
a lot of man hours are being used to see
just how corrupt our government was under the previous administration,
in fact, dating all the way back to when Barack
Obama is in office, not just Joe Biden. Well now,
(20:54):
the FBI Director Cashpateel has challenged news media to own
who is re laing about his discovery of a stash
of classified documents connected to the Trump Russia collusion narrative
that was weaponized against Donald Trump in his first term.
The director's comments came in the wake of a recent
(21:14):
report that burn bags filled with thousands of documents dating
back to the Trump Russia probe were discovered in a
room in the FBI headquarters. Posting this on x, the
director invoked his role as senior counsel for the White
House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence during the first Trump
(21:35):
term and wrote this in twenty seventeen slash eighteen. I
proved that still dossier was fictitious. Intelligence was weaponized by
corrupt FBI officials to deceive a federal judge and unlawfully
spy on the president on then presidential candate Donald Trump's campaign,
all of it being paid for by his opponents. Now
(21:57):
we know that dossier was paid for by Hillary Clinton's
camp and they were fined for that. And we also
know that it was paid for by the Democrat National Committee.
They were also fined for it. So it is a
fact that shouldn't even be up for any type of debate.
He added, the media called me a quote liar. Patel continued, Now,
(22:21):
I'm the FBI director. We just uncovered burn bags, burn
bag rooms filled with hidden Russia Gate files, including the
Durham annex, and we have declassified them. Once again. I
released the prior FBI's own documents and exposed the truth.
(22:41):
The same media is calling me a liar again. He
goes on to say, then came the challenge with Patel
writing this quote. Maybe this FBI will release more documents
directly from the FBI headquarters so we can see who's line.
Wouldn't want to deprive the fake news of more bogus pulitzers.
(23:05):
And then well, now Fox News is reported that one
potentially explosive find is the quote classified annex to former
Special Counsel John Durham's final report. It would include the
underlying intelligence in that probe. The fine is yet another
in the series of document revelations that point to a
(23:27):
hidden agenda aimed at sabotaging Donald Trump's first term in
office and honestly cutting it short. Now, documents also that
were released, you may remember last month by the Office
the Director of National Intelligence revealed quote overwhelming evidence that
Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration manufactured and politicized intelligence
(23:52):
that created the Russia hoax. That is what Tulci Gabbard
said at the time. While legacy media have largely ignored
the revolutions, the materials cited by Betel are not going
into their quote burn bags. The source told Fox News.
The top intelligence and national security officials are now overseeing
(24:13):
the to classification of the Durham annex. The materials will
then be sent to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Senator Chuck Grassley,
who will release the documents to the public now. Grassley
has been seeking information connected to Durham's probe for some time.
In twenty nineteen, for example, then Attorney General Bill Barr
(24:35):
initiated the Durham probe to expose potential misconduct by the
FBI in its effort to tie the Trump campaign to Russia.
Durham concluded in his final report released in twenty thirteen
that the FBI relied on uncorroborated intelligence and lacked a
(24:58):
sufficient basis to l onto full investigation into the Trump
campaign's alleged collusion with the United States Cold War adversary.
So you look at what I just told you and
this report that has come out. These are three major
reports that are coming from the intelligence agencies, and what
(25:21):
it's proving as Cashpitel again firing back at media critics
after and covering these secret FBI burned bags with classified documents,
is that this was done in a way that was nationwide.
It was done in a way that was so egregious
(25:41):
that the only way it could happen is if it
was planned deliberately by the highest people in power. That's
the only way this thing happens. Don't forget. Share this
podcast with your family and friends, share it on social media, please,
and I'll see you back here tomorrow.
