The Crown is yours. I must start by saying.
Speaker 5 (00:37):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
Wait, who are you thinking?
Speaker 4 (00:42):
Jeez?
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Yes, the big man upstairs, thank you, John Tyson Tyson Chicken,
the big man downstairs?
Speaker 4 (00:51):
Who that is?
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Oh my gosh, what on earth?
Speaker 3 (00:55):
So my weekend and I try to focus on spending
time with my when we did up on my phone away.
Sometimes that's tough, though, But we're in the middle of
a coaching search, and when.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
You mean we, you mean like your team and you're
just watching what they're doing.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
Right.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
I was a little more than watching, but I wasn't
as involved as some people. Give me a credit fork
because I was having conversations with folks and passing things along.
But I definitely was not a part of being a
part of the board of trustees and convincing people or
money or any of that. So, but I was involved
in like certain coaches asking me questions.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
At all, did you throw out names of coaches, like, hey,
did you guys think of no guy?
Speaker 4 (01:38):
Absolutely not.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
And I also don't want to put anybody's name into
the situation to say that they wanted something, because it
would like make them not look good at home where
they are now.
Speaker 4 (01:50):
Oh you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
Yeah, yeah, I got to So there was definitely communication
with some folks at me and I was just like
I wasn't even a middleman.
Speaker 4 (01:57):
I was like a third of a man. But yeah, yeah,
it was a whole process.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
I thought initially that we were going to get Chris Beard,
and I think that this is just me speculating this part.
I think that everyone thought we were getting Chris Beard,
and then something happened alongst the way. I think all
Mistress camp and said, we have we make a lot
of money now and we were really smart with our
new ad and in il and fine, so we're just
(02:24):
gonna offer Chris Beard an even a bigger deal. And
I think that's what happened, and he was like, all right,
I'll chill. That's what I think. I think there was
a little issue too, if I'm speculating. I think there
was a little issue with some folks about his history.
But I don't think it would have kept kept him
from getting the job. I think it would have been
a hurdle. You know, he got in trouble at Texas,
he got fired. I thought it was gonna be Chris Beard,
(02:47):
and then all of a sudden it wasn't, and then
all Miss offers him money. I think it was a
bit of both the school There are a couple of
people that were a little hesitant, and the schools like
we'll give you this. And I don't think this is
all speculation on my part. From right this second on,
I don't think Beard wanted to go through the well,
I'm gonna just sit here and not say anything and
see if it works out. When all Miss is already
(03:10):
offering him a better package and there was a chance
of it not to work out at Arkansas, Does that
make sense? Mm hmm, So okay, that happens. I thought
it was gonna be will Wade. After that, I really
thought it was gonna be will Wade, and I was.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
I was down.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
Like Will Wade's forty one, people love Will Wade unless
you play against him, and I hated him, but that's
why I wanted him. I thought it was awesome, like
cal party in my head wasn't even this wasn't even
a thing in my head right on Saturday morning, and
so I thought it was gonna be Will Wade, and
I think most people thought it was gonna be will Wade.
The only issue there was he has a couple of
(03:44):
recruiting violations. He still cannot like there's some like you
can't do some off camp.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
It doesn't matter.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
Will Wade's gonna be a stud anywhere he goes. So
that follows him for like twenty five. Wow, so twenty
five but nothing crazy like can't do some off campus
recruiting type stuff. If it wasn't for what happened, I
was totally down and had voiced my support for will Wade,
he'd have been awesome. He's gonna be awesome wherever he goes.
(04:10):
He just got He was just ahead of the game.
He was an Ilen before an Illen. And don't forget
Bill self just had better lawyers, same crape. Well, Wade
just didn't.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
So then that's Saturday morning.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
I yeah, Saturday afternoon, I don't believe it. When the
first person out here go hey, I think they're talking
to Calipari.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
So you get a text message or what.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
No, I got a call because no one wants to
put anything in writing, which is weird. It's not weird,
it's just weird to be a part of that because
I was never a part of that.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
I got a call going can you talk?
Speaker 3 (04:44):
And I was like yeah, And I got the call
and it's like, hey, I think like I just didn't
believe it, so to me, it wasn't even a thing.
There are a lot of things get floated out to
make money in other places. So I was just like,
wonder who it's going to be? Still will Wade, I
thought probably. Then it was like, maybe it'll be Jans
(05:06):
at Missippi State, who I like, he was really good
at New Mexico, has turned Missippi State into a solid program.
And then Saturday night I got another call from somebody
who did't know. The first parson goes, have you heard
this Galliparty stuff? And I'm like, there's no way. I
still don't really think it's a thing still though, and
(05:27):
one of my friends who works in media texts me.
He did text me. He was just asking. He goes,
I figure you'll know since you like have some I
just have different kinds of connections. Like I donate. So
I have like the school connections, but they go silent
whenever something starts to get real because they cannot that
they don't want to tell me, but they can't.
Speaker 4 (05:47):
But I have like.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
Some people that are like other donors in here, and
they'll talk because they're not actually making the decision right,
They're just committing money to stuff. And so I said, well,
I had two people that I would did about a
five out of ten, and what they know not They
were lying, But I've read them both about a five
out of ten. Call and say, Calipari, it's pretty good.
I didn't think it was. I think it was enough
(06:09):
for me to even insinuate it, because.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
I still didn't.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
I was still like, no way, there's no chance. But
then Sunday morning came about, and I don't know what
time I posted that. You'll be very surprised me. That's
the first time I got, Hey, we think it's gonna
be Calipari. Yeah, I saw that too. What the meme
and I was like, I don't even know what he's
talking about.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
Thanks for filling us in.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
Yeah, I posted it like two, I guess like two
on Sunday. Yeah, and I posted it going You'll be
very surprised because it's nobody anybody's talking about, because at
that time Calipari wasn't even in the in the mix
of the coaches they were talking about.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
So what I do know is that he's close to
the Tysons, and my.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
The Mike Tyson's the Chicken Tyson.
Speaker 4 (06:50):
Right.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
My understanding is the Tysons weren't super involved financially with
the basketball program on must was there. I'm not sure why,
not even sure how I care what that is, but
I've heard that and that they're close to John Calipari,
and I know John from what I heard, felt insulted
by Kentucky, like being like we go away.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
And so.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
Again, my understanding was he committed to really financially back it,
and he has the finance. Yeah, yeah, crazy money. There's
lots of chickens. They got to raise prices though, like
I saw thighs went up like a dollar.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
Yeah, oh yeah, I'm struggling to my chicken.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
Business just Tyson's gotta charge more for their chicken.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
Yes, a lot.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
So then when people started so then I knew that
it was at least in the mix at like two
or whatever. And they were like, there's a really good chance.
So the Matt Jones, who were I went on radio show,
You'll be over here in a minute. He texted me
and and you know, Matt and I have known each
other for a long time, but I was like, you
cannot repeat any of this from me. You can't even
say you know this. I'm just gonna tell you this
(08:01):
that you have some context. Because he's getting hit up
about four five o'clock and he goes, cal PARTI is
not nobody from Kentucky or Calipari said anything that this
is true at all, And I say, the connection here
is this, this is what I know, this is what
I don't know, but this is why I think it's true.
And so it was true, and it started to pop
and pop and pop. It went from he's the number
one target to he's now the guy, to he's hired,
(08:25):
to he's hired.
Speaker 4 (08:25):
And he gets a five million ANIL budget immediately.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
So that's to me where the real win is not
just making the splash with calib par He's sixty five
years old. What's it gonna give you seven years? It's
that ye don't look that old. It's that he has
five million, but he's signed a five year deal.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
We can get some players.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
It's one of the biggest anile budgets open in ile
budgets anywhere. Yeah, and so those two combined, there is
no better. I mean, there's there's no better circum There's
nothing better that could happen.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
Dude, he's not gonna leave Kentucky. He to just go
to another school and just coach for a few more years. Dude,
he's here to win, baby, and he's here to win.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
And he's going to be trying to prove a point
in conference. Arkansas goes to rupt next year, we go
play them like he's gonna Like I made an analogy
last night. It's like, whenever you know, you get.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
Well, we're not girls, but we could be eating boys,
boys or girls.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
Whatever. You break up so you get in real good
shape afterwards, just to prove, like, look how I am
like ex girlfriend body. Like Calipart's about to go full
ex girlfriend body and he's got the.
Speaker 4 (09:36):
Money to do it.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
And he already looks good.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
But you know, but it's not even about literal his
body though, you know, I mean right right right, So
that's what it was, and I can't believe it.
Speaker 4 (09:46):
I can't believe it it happened.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
No, not yet, but people were going hard on Hunter
your check all weekend, like what a losery? He bumbled
another one? And I never felt like it was bumbled
because I always felt like it was Beard and then
it wasn't. But then I thought it was Wade, and
I thought, well, there'll be some people that need to
be convinced, but Wade, it's gonna be awesome. And so
I didn't feel like it was bumbled in and it
was way to me until it was Calipari. So I
(10:10):
never felt like it was being bumbled Everybody.
Speaker 6 (10:12):
Do you think Coach Musk elevated your program to like
like before Muss right, we.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
Had we had like fifteen years of so we were
extremely legit up until the mid nineties.
Speaker 4 (10:24):
Then we were not legit until Mike Anderson.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
Had a couple of blips who was no one's assistant
but really not no consistency, and then must legitimized us
again on a national stage.
Speaker 6 (10:35):
So for sure, So now you got to try to
keep that. And then obviously Calipari is keep it.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
We're trying to keep it and all the way.
Speaker 4 (10:41):
That's what I meant, Yeah, go all the way.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
I also think that if I'm must and I'm at
usc and I think he's happy to be back home.
Speaker 4 (10:48):
In southern California, but he's like, I'm on a buck
and I l budget.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
What the crack where was that when I was there?
Speaker 3 (10:53):
Right?
Speaker 6 (10:54):
And you have to be a little bit like, dang,
they got Cali PARTI like, you know, yeah, a little
bit like I like.
Speaker 4 (10:59):
Looking at it.
Speaker 3 (10:59):
It's like, look know, you're ex dating somebody a lot
hotter than a lot richer.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
But that's also cool to look back and be like
they needed somebody big to fill my shoes. That's cool.
Speaker 4 (11:08):
I think I was like that it the other way. Yeah,
they went, they would pack all that money from us,
and they gave him all the and ile budget. And
I was over there.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
I got to two of Lee days and I was
sweet sixteen with like better than scraps but like bloney sandwiches.
Speaker 4 (11:19):
But I'm excited. Yeah, it's a home run.
Speaker 6 (11:23):
Higher does any of his recent struggles concern you at all.
Speaker 4 (11:27):
Yeah, I feel like.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
He has in his one and done's. He even admitted
this year after the tournament he has to stop doing that.
I think this last year really showed him he can't
do that because they're planning against grown men like they
could be by Oakland.
Speaker 4 (11:44):
What was it is that Oakland? Yeah, and he was like,
we're playing twenty three year olds.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
Sure a freshman And it was the first time he
had ever said out loud, I've got to readdress the
strategy of the freshman. So I do think he learned
a hard lesson and we get to charge that to Kentucky.
Speaker 4 (12:00):
I I can put that on the Kentucky bill. Yeah
that lay learn the lessons.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
They paid for that.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
Yeah, yeah, Yeah, he's gonna He's gonna come out PI.
We don't.
Speaker 3 (12:06):
We only have two players in our team right now,
one one scholarship kind of want to walk on.
Speaker 4 (12:10):
That doesn't mean that a lot of his recruits aren't coming.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
But everybody jumped in the portal whenever must that he's out,
everybody jumped in the portal. I don't blame him because
portal doesn't mean you have to go, but it does
let you at least start looking. So if a new
coach comes in it doesn't want you, at least you're
ahead of it. Yeah, so maybe some of those kids
come back a couple of then maybe none of them do.
Speaker 4 (12:27):
I'm sure a lot of the kids that must recruited.
It's not must, but Calipari recruit are gonna come.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (12:31):
I was gonna say they had a five star already
entered the portal this morning.
Speaker 4 (12:33):
Yeah, at the center. I think five star that Calipari had. Yeah,
and jumped in the portal. So hopefully they'll come dark
and they film on you guys.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Yeah I went there.
Speaker 4 (12:42):
Yeah it say, agad, they have film on you went
too much exit. They want to recruit you.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
They kind of saw what we were up that.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
That's such a dumb thing to say that. I know
you meant, but yeah, that dude. You know what they
need to do.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
They need to take a picture of Calipari and the
two players right now as the team, just like you
know that school picture, like and then you put twenty
twenty three two tho twenty four.
Speaker 4 (12:59):
Who wants I'm going.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
I'm flying to Fait Built today. I'm doing something tonight.
There's an award that I'm getting in. Then I'm there
for a couple of days, like teaching, and I'm gonna
go work out with DJ and the softball team and
and I text Hunter this morning and I've been like,
let me get twenty minutes, coach Kyle?
Speaker 2 (13:17):
Is he there already?
Speaker 4 (13:17):
Is that?
Speaker 2 (13:18):
How quick that works?
Speaker 1 (13:19):
Like?
Speaker 3 (13:19):
How does that press conference allow to be today or tomorrow?
Probaby tomorrow? But I haven't heard anything about it. I
don't know if I get it, but I gotta imagine
that everybody's asking for time.
Speaker 4 (13:30):
But let's just say donation goes down. If I don't
just say.
Speaker 3 (13:35):
That's all, let's say let's say I Pat Forty is donating,
you know, if he gets any time. I don't know
if Pat Forty does basketball. But yeah, it's cool.
Speaker 4 (13:42):
It's cool.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
That's the national story too. Like mostly I just come
on Talk Arkansas. It's very selfish in me, but I
try not to do it a lot on the show
this morning because I was like, you know, nobody cares.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
You kept you cool.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
And then a caller called and I was like, don't
mind it, but dude, all right, let's do the tittle tattle.
Speaker 6 (14:05):
After breaking all of the men's viewing records on ESPN.
Was there any part of you that was more excited
to watch Iowa over South Carolina over Yukon and Purdue.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
If I didn't have a lot of money on Purdue,
the answer would be yes, because it's just South Carolina.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
I don't watch a lot of women's basketball.
Speaker 3 (14:24):
I've watched more in the past two years than I
ever have in my life except for Arkansas basketball.
Speaker 4 (14:29):
I would watch. But Kaylen Clark, she just shoots it
all the time.
Speaker 3 (14:34):
It's crazy how she's just And then South Carolina was unfeated,
which is always cool. It was also fun to watch
her play Yukon. That was a moving screen. It was
by far movie It was the most moving up screen.
Speaker 4 (14:47):
Was the right call. There's a movie screen.
Speaker 3 (14:50):
So but you can tell, like even me, I'm a
little like, yeah, I thought it was cool, good for
women's basketball. I thought when they put all three of
the Yukon ladies on to be that second channel watching
the game, and then they were kind of, uh, you know,
hate not Kitlyn Clark a little bit.
Speaker 4 (15:05):
It's three women from Yukon. What do you expect?
Speaker 2 (15:07):
Yeah, that's what they're supposed to do.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
But no, they're not supposed to supposed to be unbiased,
but one was wearing a Yukon jacket.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
It was hard to be unbiased.
Speaker 4 (15:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
So yes, yes, if they didn't have money on it,
probably would have been more interested in the women's Honestly,
the storylines going into tonight are Will Hurley one other championship.
There's no chance Hurley goes to Kentucky. I say that,
but there's no chance, especially if he wants another one.
God damn, it was right over the deed to the
state of Connecticut to him. Yeah, but great for women's
(15:38):
basketball whatever.
Speaker 7 (15:40):
I mean.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
Haters about Kently Clark going to the WNBA though, they're like, yoh,
she's about to play.
Speaker 4 (15:43):
Grown women, yeah Tarasi.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
Yeah, but but they weren't saying that about other women
from the from college going to the w NBA.
Speaker 4 (15:51):
Yeah. It was a kind of annoying and they were winning. Yeah,
you know.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
Yeah, and also somebody ESPN should have not put three
Yukon and they had.
Speaker 6 (16:01):
I know that Saday gets on there for a little bit,
but not the whole time, right, correct, Well.
Speaker 4 (16:04):
He was on there.
Speaker 3 (16:05):
Well he's like celebrity Iowa fan, but also he's like
is he like Chiefs fan.
Speaker 4 (16:09):
Yeah, I was gonna say he's a Kisa City, Like,
how did?
Speaker 3 (16:11):
I don't know, but yeah, I need to win tonight
because I bet them. I bought them in our Calcutta
And if they win, end up winning like a thousand bucks,
that'd be nice. I've already won like five hundred, so
I don't lose it. But if they win, I win
another bit of money.
Speaker 4 (16:27):
Nice. That should be pretty cool. Yeah, all right.
Speaker 6 (16:29):
Next question, following Cali Perry leaving Kentucky, who do you
think will replace him?
Speaker 4 (16:33):
Natos would be so legit. I love Natoates.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
I think when I looked at DraftKings, he was the favorite.
I think Natos would be a home run. And Matt
Jones talks about this, We talked about so I don't
want to steal too much of that thunder, but anybody
that's not Natos or Billy Donovan because I don't think
(16:57):
Jay Wright's coming back, because I think Jay Wright got
out because he didn't like what college basketball had become,
not that he wasn't successful in killing it.
Speaker 4 (17:05):
He was, and I don't think. I don't know. I'd
love Rick Patino. That'd be hilarious. He does his one
year at Saint John's that'd be hilarious. I mean, Nato
is just probably like.
Speaker 3 (17:17):
The dude and Billy Donod maybe the dude that they'd
be so universally accepting if this is awesome, and other
fans would also say, if that's awesome for them, But
if we got to like Scott Drew Baylor.
Speaker 4 (17:27):
You'd go, Okay, that's pretty good. Kind of boring though.
You think they need like a big, big name, do
I they need it?
Speaker 3 (17:37):
No. I think it works out for them better because
they're the most high profile them in Kansas and you
know they're.
Speaker 4 (17:42):
A blue blood. It really helps them when they do.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
Calipari has been there for fifteen sixteen years, and he's
been flashy Calipar, you know. I mean Tuby Smith wasn't flashy.
Billy Gilepsi, Gilepsi was not didn't have a good run there,
So I think it helps when it is. I think
Nato would be the home run higher. Imagine you go
the on four and the sc school and then you leave. Yeah, crazy,
he's gonna get a raise regardless. Oh yeah, yeah, Alabama's
(18:06):
gonna pay him a bunch more or have to let
him go.
Speaker 6 (18:09):
Yeah, next up, all right after beating the Narrative and
reaching the championship game tonight. Do you think Yukon has
more pressure than Purdue.
Speaker 3 (18:18):
Sure, but I think they're red. That mean, there their
second year to do this. The were they seven point
six and a half point. I feel like Purdue can
play pretty loose, but I don't think Purdue overall is
as good as you can. But I think Zachi it's
crazy he can't make an IL money. I forgot about
that he's Canadian. I don't make no money.
Speaker 2 (18:38):
What he can't make make money and IL money.
Speaker 4 (18:41):
Has made none?
Speaker 2 (18:43):
What a waste. He'd be so rich right now.
Speaker 4 (18:47):
It sucks for him.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
I would love Purdue to win. I think Yukon probably wins.
I think Vegas thinks that too. I think Yukon probably
does feel more pressure. But yeah, big teams want the pressure.
They deserve it, they worked hard to get it. But
I would like to say, I'd like, pretty well, yeah,
all right, go ahead.
Speaker 4 (19:03):
The last one.
Speaker 6 (19:04):
The matchup is here, taking the money out your Calcutta.
You got Connor Purdue?
Speaker 4 (19:10):
Do I get? Is that to be points is not
just straight? Yeah? If I were just gonna bet it
pretty do you think you can.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
If you gotta take your mind off the money. I
can't separate yourself.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
I can't. I can't.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
It's almost like you can't even say it too.
Speaker 4 (19:32):
I know, I'm not. It's pretty all right. That's it,
all right, there you go. That's Tittletown.

Speaker 4 (19:53):
H what did I do? I went to A three
last week?
Speaker 3 (19:57):
Yeah, I hit the under and then I hit perdue.
Speaker 4 (20:03):
Yeah, but it was it was so it was the
last three minutes.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
Oh yeah, man got out of control. Yeah, real quick.
Speaker 3 (20:10):
If you want to take the twenty five Whistles parlay,
we'll do it again this week. Check out the Draftking
sports Book. New users used to code Bobby Sports when
you download the app twenty one and up in most
eligible states, but age varies by jurisdiction. Eligibility and a
positive restrictions apply. A gambling problem called one hundred gambler
in New York call eight seven seven eight hope and
wire text ope and y four six seven three six nine,
(20:32):
I got a text during my show. The radio show
was Matt Jones going, hey, can you talk? And so
I went on his show. We just recorded it. So
this is me going on Kentucky Sports Radio KSR with
Matt Jones.
Speaker 7 (20:44):
Bunker back Tucky Sports Radio. All right, Bobby Bones, iHeartRadio
personality on every television show in America. And a friend
of mine is here with us, and Bobby's a huge
Arkansas fan. So let's just start with this, Bobby, John
cal Perry coach Arkansas. Make you happy?
Speaker 4 (21:01):
Yes, it makes me very happy.
Speaker 3 (21:02):
But I think what makes me extremely happy is the
money that they've committed to NIL with John Calipari. I mean,
if we get cal that's awesome. We wanted to splash higher.
Obviously it's all about splash. Then it's you know, substance
after splash. But the fact that they've committed so much
money to NIL with a guy who obviously you know
better than anyone, can can use that money in amazing ways.
Speaker 4 (21:25):
Like I'm super pumped today.
Speaker 3 (21:26):
I mean, Matt and I were talking last night and
I said, hey, don't say anything I'm saying. I started
to not get texts back about midday yesterday, which means
not that people don't like me, but I have a
pretty good little system up there. I will just say
the high the big dollars, or the people making decisions.
And it's when I stop hearing texts back. It means
(21:47):
they can't tell me for a while more than they
don't want to tell me. And that's when I figured
that the cal stuff was starting to really come to
a head one way or the other.
Speaker 7 (21:57):
So that's mid afternoon. So like now that you've had
this morning, I know you had your show, but like,
how do you think it went down? I mean, I
know you don't know for sure, but on the Arkansas side,
how do you think it went down? How'd they end
up with cal Well?
Speaker 3 (22:12):
I think we aimed for Chris Beard because we felt
like we were getting Chris Beard, and I think every
indication was Chris Beard was coming to Arkansas and last
minute ole miss Listen. That program has been using their
money very wisely. They've done it in football and basketball.
They made Beard a really great offer and he felt
that he would stay. So then we didn't have Beard.
(22:33):
And I can say that you know, some of the
other candidates that they were talking to and I'll just
name them in the order, so I'm not associating myself
with any of them, but Will Wade or Jans or
you can go down. I was in a bit of
conversation with at least one of them, and it was
going pretty good where everyone kind of thought that one
of those options was going to be it. And my
(22:54):
feeling is that mister Tyson, who has a great relationship
with Coach obviously and so it was Sons. My feeling
is that for the first time in a while, mister
Tyson said, you know, I'm happy to inject some money
into this situation and did and you know, and listen,
(23:14):
cal probably wanted to get out of Kentucky as much
as Kentucky wanted to get out of Cal.
Speaker 4 (23:19):
Right, I feel like from.
Speaker 7 (23:20):
Do you think the Tyson Chicken guys absolutely?
Speaker 3 (23:23):
Absolutely the end, Absolutely, I think Hunter, you're achech did
a great job of feeling after the listen, this is
all speculation, right, speculation from like three different people that
are semi connected, because again they stop texting with me.
So I think that that was the closer. I think
that is a lot of the money. I think that
(23:45):
is at least the backing of if you need it,
I'm here, and that more than has been in the
past with mister Tyson and his sons.
Speaker 7 (23:52):
Ever, so that's a big part of it too, right,
is that the Tyson Chicken family, who has not really
been donating in the current Arkansas era, has said, if
you get Cal, we'll start donating. Is that kind of
Is that correct?
Speaker 3 (24:08):
I can't say that it's absolutely correct, because again I'm
not in those If I were recreating though that, if
I were rewriting the movie, I would say, yes, that
was That would be a scene that I would write
in going I would go to Cal party and listen.
I don't know, but Coach Cal probably let somebody know, hey,
I'm over here, because I know they started talking on
(24:28):
Friday last week. So in the midst of the Beard situation,
my indicator and I didn't believe it.
Speaker 2 (24:36):
Though.
Speaker 3 (24:36):
Honestly, when I heard that, I thought it was really
just a bunch of people wanting to create click for Sunday.
Speaker 7 (24:41):
You would not be able to get a deal like
that agreed to before Sunday, so Friday would make some sense.
Did you get any indication did Cal.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
Go there there was a plane track to Kentucky Way
or before he left, before he left to go where
what was he in Phoenix?
Speaker 7 (25:02):
Or was Cal when he was in Phoenix? Yes, he
was in Phoenix for the Thursday night. He was in
Phoenix for the Antonio Reeves thing.
Speaker 4 (25:10):
There. I'm just there.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
There.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
There's some privileged information that I cannot say because I
do not want to get in trouble with friends.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
You got it.
Speaker 7 (25:19):
We gotta fide somebody to track the plane from Phoenix
to Fayetteville and see if there was one uh, if
there was one there? All right, So you all hated
Cal for a long time.
Speaker 4 (25:30):
You hated him.
Speaker 7 (25:30):
People get over that quickly. How beloved will he be
when he starts calling the hall?
Speaker 3 (25:36):
But you know why we hated him, right because he
was awesome And you guys are freaking Kentucky.
Speaker 4 (25:41):
We hated will Wade too.
Speaker 3 (25:42):
I'd have loved will Wade at Arkansas and you know,
and for a different reason, but we hate the people
that It's like me being an Arkansas fan, Like I
hate the Texas Longhorns, but it's because they're the big
brother in football like that. I hate Kentucky as a
basketball team, but not because I hate the people individually,
but because for years and years. You guys have pounded
us the same reason I hate Cal. We'd love to
see him, We'd love to see him get ejected. We
(26:03):
played that clip of him gett thrown out of the
game during our games, and you guys beat us in
that game, Like that's how much we hated Col.
Speaker 7 (26:09):
So he's there twice, Yeah, and.
Speaker 4 (26:12):
Then you beat us.
Speaker 3 (26:14):
But he's going to be beloved if he comes and
if he wins. Who I think is probably like a
little irritated, not upset, but a little irritated, is Musk,
because I love Musk. By the way, I hated to
see Must go, but we all knew Musk was going
to go back to California at some point, and all
the domino started to fall once USC took the the
SC coach and you know, I was texting on Must
(26:35):
during the process.
Speaker 4 (26:36):
Hated to see him go, but.
Speaker 3 (26:37):
Must didn't have the resources that Cal's gonna have, and
Cal's going to have them immediately.
Speaker 7 (26:44):
Bobby Bones, thank you very much. Take good care of Cal.
I think this can be a win win for everybody,
So I wish you the bad.
Speaker 3 (26:51):
Let me ask you one question, Well, let me ask
you one question, and I know you're probably run out
of time. But do you like Cal as a person?
And second, I've always tried to not fly too close
to the sun. I'm a pretty big donor, I'm a
pretty big an IL guy. But I don't want to
get too close to the program if I don't like
the person, because I don't want to not like the team.
Speaker 4 (27:11):
I don't want to.
Speaker 3 (27:11):
I don't want to root against any part of what
I love more than anything other than my wife. So
what am I gonna want to be friends or with Cal?
Speaker 7 (27:20):
You'll love him. You'll love him. So here's what, here's
how I want to answer your question. For ten years,
I loved Cal as a First of all, I still
think Cal's a great person. Put everything else aside. He's
a great person. You will love it. I don't think
there's any doubt. For ten years he was wonderful to me.
And as I've said many times, I started KSR before Cal,
(27:43):
but he was a big, huge part of taking it
to the next level. I will always owe him for that.
Things changed in the last four years, not just with
me and him, just in general. But if he gets back,
if you get the cow where he is Cal at
his best, which I think you will, you eyes will
love him. He has but he is a he is
(28:03):
a good person with a good heart. And uh, yes,
so do I think To answer your question, do I
think he's a good person?
Speaker 5 (28:10):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (28:10):
I do?
Speaker 1 (28:10):
Are we are?
Speaker 7 (28:11):
Were he and I close at the end. I think
it's fairly obvious. The answer was no, do you.
Speaker 3 (28:17):
Who is your list of four coaches that you think
you can get and you want?
Speaker 7 (28:23):
All right, so can get I don't know want? In
order would be Danny Hurley, No Chance, Billy Donald, Billy Donovan, Natos, Well,
excuse me, let me take this back. Danny Hurley, Jay Wright,
Billy Donovan, Natos from again, other people I would be
(28:47):
satisfied with. But those are the four. If you gave
me one of those four, I'm jumping up and down
for the next week. If you give me one in
the next group, which I think includes Scott Drew and
probably other names that I don't know yet, I'm gonna
be fine with it. But they're gonna have some proving
to do.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
I think no chance, Jay Right, no chance Hurley, I
don't think Right wants to coach anymore in this environment,
and hardly no chance he wins another National Championship. Natotes
would be awesome, Like if I were in a Tucky
fan and I got natos.
Speaker 7 (29:17):
What served tonight? Yeah, the perfect time to leave is
if you listen, Hey, let us dream a week ago
you thought you were getting to coach at Little Rock,
all right, so let us dream.
Speaker 3 (29:27):
No, we did it, and I will not accept that.
But I'm hoping you guys get a really good coach.
I cannot wait to come to RUP and it's it's
gonna be awesome to hear those booze. But it's gonna
create the rivalry that we have thought we've had forever
and has just slightly been introduced every five or six years.
Speaker 4 (29:43):
So good luck to you guys. We're pumped.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
I know it's good for you guys as well. And
we'll talk to you guys soon.
Speaker 4 (29:49):
Hi. There you go. Good to go on that show.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
That's crazy, man, that's like ex boyfriend calling the new boyfriend.
Speaker 4 (29:58):
That's a weird analogy.
Speaker 2 (29:59):
You know, the girl's left him and is now on
now with you and you're talking to him about it.
Speaker 4 (30:05):
Yeah, but I didn't have sex with cal Oh that
is true.
Speaker 2 (30:08):
Yeah, Okay, a young relationship.

It doesn't matter. It's so funny's there. It's a story. Yeah,
would you rather not have them there?
Speaker 2 (31:24):
To me, it just doesn't. It's sadder to me to
see the legend come back and limp in like up
the hills of the Masters, Like I feel like it
just should have been over. Like we're done, Tiger, We're done.
We can't even walk straight.
Speaker 4 (31:39):
In the house.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
Yeah, and I'm glad he is. I don't care if
he misses the cut or not. It's still excited to see,
you know, it's tigering. I'll probably bet that he makes
the cut. And when he misses, okay.
Speaker 4 (31:47):
But we don't remember when our heroes got bad.
Speaker 2 (31:50):
Right because they quit before they got bad.
Speaker 3 (31:51):
Michael Jordan playing for the Wizards still played pretty good
and then back. You know, we don't really focus on that.
Speaker 2 (31:56):
Bones Michael Jordan could still run up and down the
court like Tiger can't even what He uses the putter
as a crutch, as a cane. It's the saddest thing
I've ever seen. And I love Tiger, and I loved
everything in the sport of golf.
Speaker 3 (32:09):

like kids that could use food. You think it's Saturday,
than that Saturday Saturday, No, no sports and sports and.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
He may not even make it to to UH Friday.
Speaker 3 (32:24):
And his last start was just forced forced withdraw and
the Genes's Imitational because of illness.
Speaker 4 (32:28):
Right, not even fact illness. He was saving it all yeah, yeah, right, Yeah,
that must be really hard for him. He's been training
like crazy. So okay, we'll see what's up.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
Is Charlie playing now? I'm ready for I'm ready for Charlie.
Like you know what, Tiger, just give your card to
Charlie and let him play the mass.
Speaker 3 (32:48):
I don't think that's how it works. Was it weird
to sign that jersey? Yeah, Zach Moss jersey, It was.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
It was weird because I just don't like signing things
that I already signed. Now I felt that kind of
trauma yeah.
Speaker 3 (33:00):
He walked in and goes, everybody, will you sign this
Randy Moss jersey?
Speaker 4 (33:05):
And I said no. Zach Moss played the Buffalo.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
A listener bought it from my eBay page cool and
was like, uh, can you have a band on the show?
Speaker 4 (33:14):
Sign it to? And I was like, are you sure?
Speaker 2 (33:15):
He's like yeah, So it's Zach Moss and Us show.
All right?
Speaker 4 (33:20):
Nice?
Speaker 2 (33:20):
So man, there's gonna start being memorabili out there. That's
just like Larry Bird and Eddie.
Speaker 4 (33:25):
Because you did that. No one asked Zach.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
Moss and Us, hey, are you hungry, like for something sweet?
Speaker 4 (33:34):
Did you bake the cakes? I brought the cakes. They're
in the fridge. I'm wanta no sugar, go get them
real quick, right, I'm to go get them. Reid had
to make cakes. Who do you have them for? Okay?
And then the next one will be seven of mic Okay,
I can use some cake right now. Reid's walking off.
He lost a bet.
Speaker 2 (33:51):
What's up with your no sugar diet? What's going on
with you?
Speaker 4 (33:56):
Nothing? You have to shoot a TV show like June, okay,
late in June, and it's like.
Speaker 3 (34:02):
I got on that medication. I put on like fifteen pounds.
I don't even know that's what the medication was doing,
like oc OCD medication. Now I just can't shake it.
And my muscles have gotten big too, but I can't
like I can't fit into my pants, not even my belly,
my button, my freaking quads are so big. And I've
also put on a little weight too. But it's like
I don't like being so thick.
Speaker 2 (34:23):
Yeah, yeah, because we're still working out hard. Yeah, and
as you're gaining weight that's getting it sucks.
Speaker 3 (34:29):
I definitely am like thicker. I don'd rather be thin
and lean. So I'm just gonna just cut sugar. But
I mean I gotta bee of cake.
Speaker 2 (34:37):
Kevin say he's doing some a lot of cardio now, yeah.
Speaker 6 (34:41):
Last couple of weeks a lot less lifting, more cardio
and home depot bags.
Speaker 4 (34:44):
I love it, dude.
Speaker 3 (34:44):
Okay, these are handcrafted? Did you bring pictures to document
it than you read? What the heck's on mine?
Speaker 4 (34:50):
The South Carolina?
Speaker 2 (34:52):
Oh boy, it looks like a game car.
Speaker 3 (34:54):
That's hilarious. It looks like the state of South Carolina.
Speaker 4 (34:57):
Oh, this is a cute. What's yours?
Speaker 2 (35:01):
It's a Dallas Cowboys star with a number four on
it from that, dude.
Speaker 4 (35:05):
That's funny. What does that look like? It's a stocky pig.
Speaker 2 (35:10):
That's a fat fig.
Speaker 4 (35:12):
I thought it was a state of South Carolina.
Speaker 2 (35:14):
It's like you have a groundhog had a baby with
a pig, a porkypine.
Speaker 4 (35:18):
Good job though, thanks man. It's pretty funny, very cool
dude making go It was good.
Speaker 5 (35:24):
I I didn't have any pans or anything like I
thought I did, so I had to go get that stuff.
Speaker 4 (35:29):
But did you not? You made this?
Speaker 3 (35:31):
There are two layers with a creamy feeling, and you
feel like now you can pull off a cake for sure.
Speaker 4 (35:36):
And so you have Mike and Kevin to go. Yeah,
how long did it take?
Speaker 1 (35:39):
You?
Speaker 4 (35:39):
Read?
Speaker 1 (35:40):
Well?
Speaker 4 (35:40):
I did both of those together. It took like four hours.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
So well, well, thank you.
Speaker 4 (35:44):
Good job dude, Good job dude, thanks for letting have Purdue.
We're gonna now you want to trade, I'll take Arizona. Hey, Mike,
what's what are we going to here? The how your
sports team? How much you sacrificed. That's a good segment.
Speaker 2 (36:01):
Yea, let's all read the read one too.
Speaker 4 (36:05):
In my grillage.
Speaker 3 (36:07):
Oh god, this is this is not this is tough.
Speaker 4 (36:12):
Okay, here you go. Enjoy.
Speaker 3 (36:14):
I want to talk about what you've sacrificed for your
favorite team. And this came up recently with a friend
of mine and we were talking about that. I'm a
big Cubs fan, grew up a die hard Cubs fan,
and they grew up in Chicago, and so in Chicago,
you're either a North Side or a Southsider Cubs fan
or White Sox.
Speaker 4 (36:35):
Met a lot of Southsiders, they're local.
Speaker 3 (36:37):
If you're a White Sox fan, for the most part,
you're extremely local Chicago because outside the Cubs got really
big nationally because they were on WGNS.
Speaker 2 (36:47):
Yeah, I mean, that's how a lot of us saw them.
Speaker 3 (36:48):
And that's why White Sox fans are mostly in Chicago.
Speaker 4 (36:52):
So we're talking and.
Speaker 3 (36:55):
We're talking about the most we ever gave up, not financially.
Speaker 4 (37:01):
But for our team and being a fan. I have
two of them.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
The first time I was ever offered a spot on
the CMA Awards, I think it was on CBS at
the time.
Speaker 4 (37:11):
They said, hey, we like for you to come and
present an award and I was like, well, it was
really cool.
Speaker 3 (37:16):
I don't elyve be to Nashville for a couple of
few years and I've been trying to get on the show,
not just like be part of the pre show or something.
And the World Cheris went to Game seven and then
gives the Cubs and the Indians, and I, like two
days before, I said, I can't come do the Cmas.
I have to watch Game seven of the World Series.
And so I did not go. I did not hop
(37:39):
on national television. I did not get in the award
show because I wanted to watch the Cubs and the
Indians Game seven. And I stayed home and the Cubs ragined,
delay and like late, and the Cubs ended up winning.
Speaker 4 (37:51):
It was awesome.
Speaker 3 (37:52):
That's a sacrifice, though, And I remember I thought about
it for just a second. I was like, man, this
my first opportunity. But then I was like, I wait
on my whole freaking life. And I was not even
that old compared to old people who you know, the
Cubs hadn't won a World Series since nineteen oh eight,
hadn't been since nineteen forty five, and so a bit
I felt like I'd have been a like a poser
(38:14):
for all the dead people that never got to see
the Cubs win a World Series too.
Speaker 4 (38:17):
And they won. So my first one is I didn't go.
Speaker 3 (38:22):
And do a spot on CBS because I had to
watch Game seven and not I just like watch it
on my phone or watch it in the back room before.
Speaker 4 (38:28):
You move on.
Speaker 2 (38:29):
I don't know if the next one was going to
be Arkansas or whatever, but before you move on with
the Cubs, Like, I'm shocked that you're such a diehard
Cubs fan lifelong and you have pool now you have clout,
but I don't see you taking advantage of that a lot.
Speaker 3 (38:44):
So for the Cubs, I got to throw the first
pitch out a couple of years ago. Sure what happened
at the time was and until recently. We were on
in Chicago and the station that was the same format
like Rival whatever, I don't even know who's on it.
They had the Cubs radio rights, and they got real
stupid about, well we can't let them go up and
(39:05):
sing the seventh inning stretch. Well we can't, And so
it just became a little toxic because I was getting
upset and irritated, and so I did not even try anymore,
and I just was a fan and that was cool
by me. Brett Eldridge, one of my best friends, you know,
he's a massive Cups fan, grew up in Paris, Illinois,
(39:27):
and you know he's friends with ROSSI, who's not the
manager anymore, but a lot of those guys, Chris Bryant,
a lot of those guys, and so he was always like, dude,
we can just go do it that way, and I
was like, you know what, I don't want there to
be any weirdness. Yea, So now I think it's different
because we're not like now, I think I could start
to do that, but I did go through the first
(39:47):
pitch out. They've been cool in a lot of ways,
but it just got weird and I didn't want it
to be weird to me be resentful towards something.
Speaker 4 (39:53):
I really loved. So it's like the Icarus. If I
too close to the sun, sometimes your wings melt and
you hate it.
Speaker 2 (39:59):
I've heard of that.
Speaker 4 (39:59):
I didn't want to get too close because I would
get I would have gotten mad, all right.
Speaker 3 (40:02):
I've just always wondered it. But yeah, that makes sense, Okah,
I do. Ryan Sandberg does follow me on Instagram. Really
pretty cool? Do you dm the.
Speaker 4 (40:09):
Middle a little bit? He's watching American Idol. That's right,
That's why I follow him crazy.
Speaker 3 (40:13):
Yeah, he's fighting cancer right now and it's been going
according to his post. And I've messaged him, but I
don't get real into the weeds and be like how
was yesterday, just kind of sending hey man, I saw
this root and for you type stuff. But it seems
to be going in a positive way. But yeah, that
but also to take my stepdad Arkansas Keith like he
(40:33):
had never been to a cups gave. He's a diary
Cubs fan. It's where I get it from. And to
take him and I've taken him to once. It's kind
of broke, but I can finally afford like two Southwest
tickets in two seats. Not totally bad, but middle bad.
We did that and then when I went through it,
the first pitch took him on the field. That's awesome,
And it was awesome. It's really one of the cooler things.
Have you touched the ivy?
Speaker 4 (40:54):
Yeah, so I took some. He took some of that
supposed to it, but I took it. Did you plant
some in the household? Now rotted it's all over the house. Yeah,
you had your own wall of ivy.
Speaker 2 (41:03):
Because it is invasive, Like you plan a little bit
of that it'll take over.
Speaker 4 (41:07):
Your eyes everywhere. My wife's like, what is this ivy
that's going? We can't get it to stop. The other
one was.
Speaker 3 (41:16):
Arkansas football was in the SEC championship football game against
Florida and it was in Atlanta, and I broke a
tooth the day before, you likepcorn or something of course,
some stupidly And it wasn't anything that's so big and bad,
but my teeth weren't good. You gotta say, you got
into a fight, dude. It wasn't even like a seed.
(41:39):
It's like a colonel.
Speaker 4 (41:39):
It wasn't even a colonel. It probably was a part
of it.
Speaker 3 (41:42):
But my tooth shattered and it hurt so bad because
it's one of the big ones mowlers. And it was
either go to the dentist or go to the game.
Speaker 4 (41:56):
Come on, that's easy, come on exactly. Nobody wants to
go to the dentist anyway, No, but it hurts so bad.
Speaker 3 (42:02):
So I got like five tubes of that numb and
stuff oral jel or orange anything they had freaking went
to Atlanta all time, justly, apply, apply, apply, apply.
Speaker 4 (42:14):
And then we got ran.
Speaker 3 (42:15):
Yeah, we played well, lost in second half, but that
was t Bow as a freshman.
Speaker 6 (42:21):
It's Chris Lee McFadden days for you guys. Yeah, okay,
so and Felix Jones.
Speaker 3 (42:27):
I believe so. I remember my mouth hurting the whole time.
My mouth hurt the whole time at the game. It
distracted me from the game a bit because I hurt
so bad. God, dang, I went to that game.
Speaker 4 (42:37):
Good you did it? Sucks we lost though that that
was that's a bad point.
Speaker 2 (42:41):
But do you regret it?
Speaker 4 (42:42):
Yeah? I do now lost lost.
Speaker 3 (42:47):
If we have one answer would have been no, like
I don't regret my my CBS miss, Yes we won.
Speaker 4 (42:54):
If we lost, heck yeah, I don't see a loss.
Speaker 2 (42:57):
That's like my buddy who had saved so much money
to take his son to a Braves game and it
was a playoff game and it was the one where
they maybe they're playing the Indians, I don't remember, but
they lost by like eighteen runs. It was. It was
one of those games where like they didn't score any
and they just got completely destroyed. And that was his
son's first game. And we had say it was so
(43:18):
much money for so long on this game.
Speaker 4 (43:20):
And it was so bad. That sucks. Not the same
at all.
Speaker 3 (43:23):
But last year when Arkansas was in the NCAA tournament, Me,
my wife, Ben Recked or his wife, we all like
had to move some stuff, get out to Vegas. It's
a far trip. We had to get back right after.
Like we're like, we just ukon just ran us from this.
Speaker 4 (43:39):
That tip. Yeah, it's just not good.
Speaker 2 (43:41):
That tip.
Speaker 4 (43:43):
It was awful. I would not do it again.
Speaker 2 (43:45):
I mean, I feel like I've been to I was
at the two Cowboys games where Romo got injured. We
broke the collarbone and the other one. I think it
was like a shoulder injury. Like I'm like, this is terrible.
I got to see the backup both games.
Speaker 6 (43:58):
Even when the Patriots say, in the Brady era they
lost like maybe ten home games entire twenty years, right,
and I think I was there for three of them,
four of them, and I'm like, I'm never coming back here.
Speaker 4 (44:09):
Yes, and not the same.
Speaker 3 (44:11):
But I was at Emmitt Smith's record breaking game against
the Seahawks and when he set the record for yards
or touchdowns whatever the.
Speaker 4 (44:20):
Big record was. He broke last and they lost. It
was awful.
Speaker 3 (44:24):
And they still put a start in the middle and people
were like, how the sucks.
Speaker 2 (44:26):
But he broke the record.
Speaker 4 (44:27):
They broke the record, maybe mistouched. That's always awkward though
what it was.
Speaker 3 (44:30):
So when I say I missed cmas, I had a
broken tooth, I didn't go to the dentist because I
had to go do my I had to go support.
Speaker 4 (44:38):
Where's your sacrifice, Kevin?
Speaker 6 (44:40):
I sacrificed the wall one time, a wall in the house.
We had a water leak at the house that I
grew up in, and there was a wine and my
parents had gotten divorced by this time. So it's me
and my dad and my brother living in the house,
all the big fans, right, and so there's no females
in here, nobody to tell us to know there's a
water leak. And on the other side was a big
(45:01):
wall in our kitchen area. Kitchen living room was kind
of like a combination, and we painted that wall, turned
that wall into the game. Four of the four Alcs comeback.
David Ortiz, Dave Roberts steel in the base and it's
the entire wall, the green Monster wall. I have a
picture of it right here and you could see it
and it's the same score, same everything, legit. So we
(45:22):
sacrificed the wall in the house.
Speaker 2 (45:24):
That's funny.
Speaker 4 (45:26):
I don't understand is the wall gone? Did it flood?
Speaker 6 (45:29):
They did on the other side, so we had to
tear down the entire wall and we had to put
all new dry wall up.
Speaker 4 (45:35):
And then when you go paint it and we're like, hey,
we got an idea. He also kind of won. Yeah, yeah,
because that wall is awesome. But you let the wall die? Yeah,
I mean, did we start leak on purpose?
Speaker 6 (45:44):
Who knows? I don't know that that series it's amazing.
Speaker 3 (45:49):
Once in a lifetime, not even as a fan, as
just at this first time that happened though.
Speaker 4 (45:55):
Yeah, down three to zero, that's a.
Speaker 3 (45:58):
Series're talking about, right, yea, yeahh four they came back
and on four straight against Yankees.
Speaker 4 (46:02):
Yep, that doesn't happen.
Speaker 3 (46:05):
And hockey it happens occasionally, but like in basketball, NBA
playoffs and baseball never and it gets your heated rival.
Speaker 6 (46:13):
I remember the game before I think they won, like
it's like eighteen to something.
Speaker 4 (46:17):
They want to say that's the nineteen eight.
Speaker 6 (46:20):
They lost nineteen eight and down three to zero, and
then they're down to the final, you know, the bottom
of the nine. Mariano Rivera is pitching. Dave Roberts steels
the base. David Ortiz does what he does.
Speaker 4 (46:29):
Against the best closer of all time. Yes, on the
team you hate the most. Yes, four in a row. Yes,
wild Eddie.
Speaker 2 (46:38):
I guess I sacrificed just a night like it was
one of the worst nights ever.
Speaker 4 (46:43):
My brother.
Speaker 2 (46:43):
Okay, So my brother and I we had this great
idea to go to a Cowboys The whole family was
going to go to a Cowboys game. We lived in
Austin at the time. My parents lived in San Antonio.
So we told my dad like, hey, let's get an RV.
Let's get there on Saturday, and we will camp and
we will tailgate all day. Is a three o'clock game,
and me, me and my brother will we'll man. We'll
(47:05):
man the trailer. And so my Dad's like, okay, he
gave us the money to get the trailer. We rented
it and we drove from Austin to Dallas on Saturday
night and I drove the whole time while my brother
drank in the back. It's just us too, and my
parents were going to meet us there on Sunday.
Speaker 4 (47:21):
And we get there.
Speaker 2 (47:22):
We pull up to Texas State at to Cowboys Stadium,
and we're like, all right, where do we park this thing?
And we see other RVs in this area and there's
a guy at the gate like that that can't come here.
You have a tailgate pass. And we're like, no, I
don't have a tailgate pass nothing. He's like, well, sorry,
you got to get online and try to do that.
So we try to get online nothing. We ended up
paying the guy like one hundred and fifty bucks so
(47:43):
we could pull our r V into the one place
where you park r v's for tails one hundred ft
bus to pan him. So we go in, we find
a spot and my brother we said, we set camp
and there is a party going on, Like, dude, there
are people tailgating on Saturdays.
Speaker 4 (47:59):
I didn't know this.
Speaker 2 (48:00):
For Sunday three o'clock game and all night they played
Cupid shuffle to the left, to the left, to the right,
to their right all night and I drove, and I
drove the whole way, so I'm like, dude, I got
to go to bed. It was like one in the
morning and they played the music all night. I never
slept it. And again I think it was Cowboys Giants.
(48:21):
Maybe we lost that game.
Speaker 4 (48:22):
He's so tired during the game that was already even
watched the game.
Speaker 2 (48:24):
I was exhausted, dude, I was exhausted. And my brother
was drinking all night too, so he joined the party
next door.
Speaker 4 (48:30):
It was just it was a terrible night. Read do
you have anything like this?
Speaker 5 (48:34):
I don't have anything that's not monetary or has to
do with my bank account sacrificing.
Speaker 4 (48:39):
What's the most you ever paid for something?
Speaker 1 (48:41):
Then?
Speaker 4 (48:41):
Where you like, I can't believe I'm doing this. Uh,
probably the last super Bowl. I spent around wait what
the last super Bowl? The one that this one? Yeah, yeah,
this previous super Bowl?
Speaker 2 (48:51):
Yeah, the super Bowl because you bet on it?
Speaker 4 (48:53):
Yeah? Oh I thought he said he bought tickets and went,
oh no, and Reid doesn't tell us crap. We were
working out yesterday, do you know, Kevin.
Speaker 3 (49:08):
So we're working out yesterday and at the end of
the work out, me Eddie, our trainer, Kevin Klug, We're
walking out and Kevin's like, man, how about that Reid's
moving to Memphis?
Speaker 4 (49:19):
And I was like, he's not.
Speaker 2 (49:21):
And then Bones looks at me and I'm like, I
haven't heard anything about Memphis.
Speaker 3 (49:25):
What We're like, like, what do you be maybe he's going,
and we said vacation. We said, there's no freaking way
he would tell our trainer before he would tell.
Speaker 2 (49:35):
Us, like the people and look at Kevin's face right now.
Speaker 4 (49:39):
The people that he works with, none of that.
Speaker 3 (49:41):
The person who hired him and pays him like this.
Speaker 4 (49:46):
Is this is reads with me every day every day.
And so we we tell klug, dude, you're an idiot.
What are you talking Forget you're working out with some people,
You're And then we call Reid just messing around And
I was like, Yo, when you move Memphis, well not
for like a year. And I'm like, what, you're moving
to Memphis? Probably?
Speaker 5 (50:08):
Yeah, like a year and six months most likely I'm
getting married.
Speaker 4 (50:12):
Okay, okay, but you do that. You've never said anything. Yes,
it's not about the move.
Speaker 3 (50:17):
That's people have to make difficult decisions for their life
all the time. My wife had moved all across the
country from me, and I have to uh no, I
do most of the same.
Speaker 4 (50:27):
I'm pretty ucky in that way. I still keep the
airway down.
Speaker 3 (50:30):
Oh, the dogs don't get to come in the bedroom anymore.
Speaker 4 (50:36):
Moving across the.
Speaker 3 (50:37):
Yes, so now or even anyway you would think read
would have said to me, Hey, this is starting to
be a conversation point. I'm just letting you know in
case or if said nothing to anybody. Yeah, both those
kinds because it ain't our business. Sure, but he got
He goes.
Speaker 4 (50:55):
To, when did you tell Kluge?
Speaker 5 (50:58):
So I was shoot in some video content for him
after they were working out, and he was talking about
his startup and his business and stuff like that. I
told him I'll most likely be in Memphis in like
a year and six months.
Speaker 3 (51:10):
It just comes up, I know, And then I go,
I get it, because you have to make difficult decisions,
especially if you're in a relationship's part of it. But
don't tell somebody that's gonna tell us because that feels
not it doesn't feel as real.
Speaker 4 (51:30):
Well, this is how ridiculous it is too like real,
like we did, like we have a very real relationship.
Speaker 2 (51:35):
The fact that Kevin Klug told us and then we
were so surprised.
Speaker 4 (51:40):
He was like, oh God, oh God, what did I do?
Speaker 2 (51:44):
He feels guilty, So even he understands how weird it
is that we don't know that you're gonna move to
Memphis and you didn't tell us.
Speaker 4 (51:53):
And not only that, my final point, you tell me
how I should feel. Come on, hired read Love Read.
You know it's already going to a negative place, you
know when it starts there. Let me first say, great guy, but.
Speaker 2 (52:14):
He's so nervous right now. Look, he's so nervous.
Speaker 4 (52:18):
Read. How long have we worked together? About three and
a half years.
Speaker 3 (52:25):
And through that three and a half years we have
built a strong personal relationship and a trust.
Speaker 4 (52:32):
Absolutely is in my house all the time he's in.
Speaker 3 (52:35):
Yeah, but mostly I have for professional reasons first, because
I didn't know him that well when we first started.
For professional reasons, I invested a lot in him, like, hey,
let me pay for some school. You want to go
to school and learn and pay for some school you
finished that school, I'll pay for it.
Speaker 4 (52:50):
Then I'll give you a raise. Hey what if we
learn this? What if you do this?
Speaker 3 (52:53):
So it's like a big investment professionally as well. And
if he's out in a year and a half, do
you feel like I should keep investing on the growth
of something that's I'm not going to that's not going
to go as a person. Sure, whatever you need. Eddie
gives like Kidney's like they're freaking candy Kidney you need
like a buddy a friend. But if someone's like out
(53:17):
in twelve, thirteen, sixteen, eighteen months, you know that, do
you invest long term in them anymore? Real question, Eddie Kevin.
Speaker 2 (53:26):
I'm going to answer this as someone. I'm going to
answer it like like I'm like, I'm talking to someone
who's just talking about a business.
Speaker 4 (53:34):
Bobby, he's not your friend in this not your.
Speaker 2 (53:36):
Friend, and Bobby is not the business. No, you don't
invest if you know that something's not going to last
or going to be going to be around your business
for the next year and six months. No, you don't
invest anymore. It stops right now. And it's tough. It's
not that easy. It's not that black and white. Because
you are a friend and you are a good person
(53:58):
and we care about you. But no, you don't do
that in business.
Speaker 4 (54:02):
Not in growth.
Speaker 3 (54:03):
It's but like, well you still be a part of
the group and still do what he's doing. Now, sure
he does a great job, reads the best, like i'd
probably try to build something. You know, Readings is so good.
We were working, but it's like, now what do I do?
And I feel weird? Not because I feel like the
chief Wolve's.
Speaker 4 (54:19):
Been pulled over my eyes. Whatever that saying is. Yeah,
he's kind of stupid saying anyway, because I only get it.
The wool was pulled over your guys? Why do you wear
a wool? Is it a wool? He don't know? And
if you're in the South or like Florida, when do
you ever wear a beanie?
Speaker 7 (54:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (54:32):
Let that one go with Yeah.
Speaker 3 (54:33):
So like everything stays the same, but Kevin, same to you?
Would you continue pumping growth into something that isn't going
to be able to grow with you?
Speaker 6 (54:45):
This reminds me of like being in a relationship. I've
done this a few times myself, not saying it's the
healthiest thing, but when you know you don't have a
future there, you slowly be like, eh, I'm not investing
everything anymore. I'm slowly pushing them out, pushing them away.
And then you know that breakup's coming. You don't know
exactly what it's going to be, but in this case,
you do, I guess, and then you start looking for
another another one. What's more opportunity out there? Is there
(55:08):
something better out there? So read love you to death,
love the work that you do. We all do what
we love you. We love I mean, that's going to
be a very very sad day.
Speaker 4 (55:18):
Well, that's my deal is like I don't want to leave,
but the question is not should you leave. Yeah, because
you should leave, because you have to leave.
Speaker 3 (55:28):
Everything is now bigger than anything you're doing with us.
When you get married, this is it's a priority, but
it's not the priority anymore.
Speaker 2 (55:37):
No, man, your future wife is.
Speaker 4 (55:39):
It's second.
Speaker 3 (55:40):
It's all second. So we're not saying you shouldn't leave.
You should leave if that's what you need to be
with your wife. We're saying one is weird to hear
from our trainer. We're like doing curls read to Memphis.
Speaker 2 (55:52):
We sure it didn't bones, dude, Bones almost dropped the
bar on his chest.
Speaker 4 (55:56):
Dude, And not because I was so stunny he was leaving,
because I was like, you're an idiot, he's not leaving.
What do you know? That stupid it?
Speaker 3 (56:04):
And then turns out he was right right, And so
it's not that it's.
Speaker 4 (56:12):
You're going. So what would your expectation be from me.
Speaker 3 (56:17):
Professionally, because it's it can't be long term now, but
mid term and even short term.
Speaker 5 (56:26):
My thing was, well, first of all, I I kept
a lot of it from you because I didn't have
much details on it.
Speaker 4 (56:37):
And you also didn't have to tell me anything.
Speaker 3 (56:38):
Yeah, for sure, but you told Cluke in my house
the trainer, the trainer.
Speaker 4 (56:42):
That's what we're so offended. Even if you didn't say.
Speaker 3 (56:45):
Anything to me for another nine months, I would have
got it, because she'll figure it out, like if.
Speaker 6 (56:48):
It was Dawson that you told in Dawson, Actually, that's
all right. It's a best friend and roommate that he
lives with your trainer.
Speaker 4 (56:57):
It is with them anyway, go ahead.
Speaker 5 (56:59):
I think that's why I Will isn't thinking of it
as a big deal talking to him about it.
Speaker 4 (57:03):
But I I.
Speaker 5 (57:04):
Did talk to you about potentially having to move when
we were flying to California.
Speaker 4 (57:10):
Yeah one day, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (57:12):
When your wife, but it was never this time or specifics,
or it was who knows, Kevin may have to move,
Eddie may have to move, have to move some I had.
I've had to move a couple of times. I guess
my I don't have a problem with it. It's we
make jokes and stuff.
Speaker 2 (57:27):
Hahaha.
Speaker 3 (57:28):
Clue you tell our trainer you don't even really know them,
ha ha. Didn't tell us people were really close to.
It's just on the sense of what do you what
do you want me to do for now on? Because
I'm not looking. I'm looking for me to know you're here,
You're here forever if you ever need anything the rest
of your life personally am here.
Speaker 4 (57:46):
Yeah, but what do you want me to do now?
Speaker 3 (57:47):
Because again it's hard for me to go, Let's build
this sucker for something we're going to do two years
down the road, for sure this time, if you're you're
jumping out for something you should jump out for for sure.
Speaker 5 (57:58):
Well I and I've talked to Maddie a lot about this,
and my ultimate goal in life was to have a
production company and to be able to like branch out
and because I've done audio and video and all these
different things, and I've always wanted to have a team
behind me to where I can kind of outsource people
to do different stuff and like that. So, like my
(58:18):
ultimate goal was to eventually have a production company and
be able to like have you as like the client,
like have like a team that handles all that stuff,
but I still oversee like all the big stuff. And
that's why Memphis was an option, because, like vendor Belt is,
you have to take like a separate test to do
(58:39):
residency there, and you have to for her, for her.
Speaker 4 (58:42):
For me, then you should take it. I will, I would,
honestly and I would.
Speaker 5 (58:48):
And so Memphis was like the closest like happy medium
to also being close to family and then also me
being able to come up to Nashville. And obviously I know,
like being here every day for podcasts and Bobby casts
and stuff like.
Speaker 4 (59:02):
That would be very difficult.
Speaker 5 (59:05):
But I have talked to her a lot about like
I was like, I want to make something, like I
don't want to stop working for Bobby, Like I want
to do something, even if it's like like I literally yeah,
for sure, Like I literally would do stuff for free
just to keep like.
Speaker 4 (59:25):
I want to work for free. I'll pay you obviously,
I gotta.
Speaker 5 (59:32):
You know, I got to make a living and stuff
like that, and I was doing freelance stuff and I
was barely getting by but to even get to do
like the too much access stuff. And I will drive here,
I will fly from wherever. I will make it happen.
Speaker 4 (59:46):
Why wouldn't I wouldn't even go to Memphis.
Speaker 2 (59:47):
I'd go somewhere better. How is this a sure deal?
Speaker 5 (59:51):
Like Memphis isn't a sure deals looking at Memphis or
Little Rock and.
Speaker 2 (59:55):
Most moving is a sure deal though, Yeah.
Speaker 5 (59:57):
Because we'll be getting married not summer but the next around,
like June or something like that.
Speaker 4 (01:00:03):
When do you think you're leaving? Uh, it will be
June of next year, not this year. Yeah, of twenty
June of next year. What did you do it a little?
If you get Letter Rock, go to Little Rock that's home. Yeah,
that's true. Don't be three and a half hours so
you can be close to us.
Speaker 3 (01:00:18):
It's gonna be difficult to get here anyway, be closer
to homeworkhis which is true.
Speaker 2 (01:00:23):
It's just better what he was gonna say. It's not
it's not just us who else?
Speaker 5 (01:00:26):
No, No, I just mean like for me, like as
a business and no, but I do have like a
lot of friends and connections and stuff here, Like there's
a good producer named jakiir King that.
Speaker 8 (01:00:38):
Oh you have none except us Kevin cloonee, Kevin Kevin Yes,
Kevin klog got to like be there to give us
a looj bomb like breaking news read's going to Memphis.
Speaker 5 (01:00:51):
But for what I do and for the video and
photography side of things, like I don't want to make
rap music videos in Memphis or like, you.
Speaker 4 (01:00:59):
Know, it feels like you might have to do We're
like mom.
Speaker 3 (01:01:02):
And pop or rock and roll in Memphis?
Speaker 4 (01:01:05):
Right blues? No, both of you? Or opera right right?
Or any kind of music? Did anybody sure? Yep, country,
there's you can go? Yeah? What say? Yeah the Memphis Grizzlies. Dude, Yeah,
that's true, but.
Speaker 3 (01:01:24):
I would not make a decision based on you being
only kind of far away from us.
Speaker 4 (01:01:27):
We get back to go home.
Speaker 5 (01:01:29):
She was really wanting that too, because her both of
her sisters are in Memphis. Oh then great, and her
family's only forty five minutes from Memphis.
Speaker 3 (01:01:36):
Then well, why don't you move like forty five minutes
this side of Memphis?
Speaker 2 (01:01:40):
Yeah, you can, rob trying. That's right in the middle Jackson, Tennessee.
Speaker 4 (01:01:44):
Mm hmm. That's what Morgan used to live.
Speaker 2 (01:01:46):
He's Mile Island.
Speaker 4 (01:01:47):
Violand so what what he said?
Speaker 2 (01:01:50):
Though, how does that sound to you?
Speaker 4 (01:01:51):
That was terrible? Whatever?
Speaker 3 (01:01:55):
So much stuff is instantaneous, he knows this.
Speaker 4 (01:01:57):
We do all the time.
Speaker 3 (01:01:57):
It's Inintana's quick turnover. Uh, like we have to full
time employee. Yeah, but it makes a really good salary
and uh. He deserves everything. And I constantly am like,
you want do you want to raise and he's like,
that would be nice.
Speaker 4 (01:02:09):
Okay, here's some more money.
Speaker 3 (01:02:10):
I could sure use one because he's extremely valuable and
so but that a lot of that value is that
he's so good and quick and readily available.
Speaker 4 (01:02:22):
He would I'll be there in three hours. I'm sending
someone over. Well see. But it's also very personal because
it read comes to my house.
Speaker 3 (01:02:30):
Right, Reid has access to him in locks and inside
of stuff. Right, if nobody's here, we can go in
the house. Yeah, I just hired him. His name's Trent.
I told him where Stanley is? You know that would
never happen. And then also I get the feeling too,
you tell me if I'm wrong. This production company that
read wants to start. Yes, I feel like i'd be
asked to like I don't know finance part of it.
Speaker 4 (01:02:54):
No, not at all.
Speaker 5 (01:02:55):
I would just want you to be like a client,
just like main client, the main client.
Speaker 3 (01:03:00):
Yeah, but I wouldn't because you wouldn't be here. And
if you're I'm having to deal with like people like
we I guess that are working around.
Speaker 4 (01:03:09):
We have some issues here at the house.
Speaker 3 (01:03:10):
And the fits and stuff, and they subcontract that stuff,
but they don't like go in the house and hang
out and they go in the refrigerator and it's like, hey,
are you.
Speaker 4 (01:03:16):
Never into the house? Can you go buy and uh,
let let the dog out and all that stuff matters.
That's true. So if you can't let the dog out,
you can't be my digital guy. That's my rule. It's
always been my rule.
Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
Man, Yeah, for as long as I've known him. You
can't take the dog out.
Speaker 4 (01:03:28):
So when should I start looking for a replacement?
Speaker 5 (01:03:32):
I mean, what if what if the guy that you
were going to hire to help me? What if I
trained him on the things that I do?
Speaker 4 (01:03:43):
The guy got to hire soon next whomever that is?
May I be a guy? Maybe a girl?
Speaker 2 (01:03:48):
That's true. He sexist, Read's twenty twenty four, dude.
Speaker 4 (01:03:54):
Maybe I'll get a hot girl and then he ends
up cheating.
Speaker 2 (01:03:57):
That's your plan, keep.
Speaker 4 (01:03:58):
Here, Yeah, that's your way.
Speaker 3 (01:03:59):
You can keep it.
Speaker 4 (01:04:00):
Yeah, And she doesn't even like just hit on him.
Speaker 3 (01:04:03):
She has absolutely no idea how to do camera video.
Speaker 4 (01:04:07):
But the rules are you got.
Speaker 6 (01:04:08):
To cut in.
Speaker 2 (01:04:09):
Hey, she's trying to run the camera where he's like
behind her les?
Speaker 4 (01:04:15):
Why do you want my hands on your hips? We're editing.
Speaker 2 (01:04:18):
Good news, bad dude, I'm not getting married. My girlfriend
lives here now.
Speaker 3 (01:04:30):
Okay, so well here's what we'll do. That's all we'll
do for the next six months. Yeah, it's sad too,
because it's like I want to like build I want
to like build it for him so he can like
build it for us.
Speaker 4 (01:04:44):
I can't do that for a second to be here.
Speaker 3 (01:04:45):
But for like the next six months, we'll just keep
going as normal, you know, nothing change. And then after
that we'll have to start formulating a plan. But my
idea of hiring somebody hot just to like get him
a cheat, that's all.
Speaker 4 (01:05:00):
And then we also, like see going to record the
cheating so we can send it to her with black mail,
no black anymous, there's no black mal anonymous that she needs.
She has to see it. So he stays here. But
that's how much we love you, man, We love you
so much we make you. Yeah, that's gonna be the
end of the show.
Speaker 2 (01:05:17):
Hey, and props. So you read that this was a
lot for you and you handle like a champ.
Speaker 4 (01:05:22):
He told Clue, he didn't come here and go I'd
like to volunteer this information.
Speaker 2 (01:05:25):
I know, but even right now, he had a plan,
he had something that he brought to the table, and
that's that's a good job.
Speaker 5 (01:05:32):
Uh yeah, I didn't tell you just because I was
wanting to formulate something, to figure something.
Speaker 3 (01:05:40):
And here it was, well, we're glad you told Kevin,
who you've met three times.
Speaker 4 (01:05:46):
I love you, dude.
Speaker 3 (01:05:47):
And then he told us and we were like, Kevin,
you're lying. You're an idiot, and you're stupid and you
heard wrong. And then all of a sudden he's like, yeah, that's.
Speaker 4 (01:05:53):
True, Kevin. We're sorry, man, We're really sorry. We just
can't believe he'd do that. That's the end of this show.
Speaker 2 (01:06:01):
All right, many blow the whistle?
Speaker 4 (01:06:06):
Where is it?
Speaker 2 (01:06:07):
It's around your neck?
Speaker 3 (01:06:11):
I did post on the Instagram post it was like
and reads leaving us.
Speaker 6 (01:06:14):
My sister asked me. She's like, I didn't even see
the post, and she's like, where's read going?
Speaker 3 (01:06:18):
Like I got hit up by I saw people and
think like, where's read going?
Speaker 2 (01:06:21):
Like people I know Kevin got clubed by.
Speaker 4 (01:06:23):

everyone got cluged. Reach out to you.
Speaker 5 (01:06:35):

to see you go.
Speaker 4 (01:06:39):
Man, what are you saying. I'm still gonna be here
for a while.
Speaker 3 (01:06:45):
Unless if you want to apply for a job, send us,
send your pictures with Kevin.
Speaker 4 (01:06:49):
All right, that's it.
Speaker 3 (01:06:51):
We'll see you guys next time, if there is a

Speaker 4 (01:06:57):
