Whistles Wine Wine, Welcome to the show. Blow that whistle please,
thank you very much. Uh. Breaking news was Arkansas fired
their coach? It is crazy. I'm glad I didn't go
to the game.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
When did that happen? What the fire? The firing?

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Sunday? Sunday? Yeah, Sunday, like in the first hour of
the NFL games. Because me being the husband that I am,
I told my wife because I watched all football. I
watched that Virginia game was that Thursday at our front. Okay,
so I watched a lot of that game. Watched football
all day Saturday, and then I knew I was going

(02:20):
to watch a lot Sunday, which is obvious. And she
was like, Hey, what part of the day can we go,
like to the mall and go? And I was like,
can we go in the morning Sunday? Think about Sunday mornings.
Nothing's open Sunday mornings, nothing opens until noon? Yes? Smart? What?

Speaker 5 (02:37):
Well?

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Smart? You said?

Speaker 4 (02:39):
You said, well, I'm open in the morning, dumb. So
it's like she's like, well, I only got you in
the morning when everything's closed, dumb.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Because it was I needed to be there when it opened.
So we did some stuff from like twelve to one thirty,
which I didn't really care about because it's kind of
a crappy slate of games, at least on the surface,
and even the games that ended up being pretty good,
really who cares. So we went to the mall. And
while we were at the mall shopping for all kinds

(03:07):
of crap, and we had lunch, and then I get
my phone up and it's like Sam Pitman fired, so
it had to be in that window. But yeah, I
saw it on Twitter. I knew it was gonna happen. Yeah,
I was told by a couple of people before the
game that there were gonna be some changes regardless of
what happened after the Notre Dame game. If we would
have won, I think they probably would have changed a
coordinator or so. If we would have lost, maybe a coordinator.

(03:29):
But because we got beat so bad, it was you
gotta go and move off the coach, so they caught him.
It sucks to somebody lose their job, and the more
adult I get, the more I hate to see someone
lose their job. But it was time for that job
to switch, and so we'll talk about it later.

Speaker 4 (03:43):
That's a good point because when you're younger, you're just
like fire up, yes.

Speaker 6 (03:46):
Yeah, Well, and you have a personal relationship with the
guy and you can't help but to have that at
least conflicted a little bit.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
I don't know. It's like, the worst he got, the
more I didn't have a relationship, and you're like, I
haven't seen him in a few years, mostly because we
weren't like close friends anyway, and there really weren't a
lot of instances that I'd reach out to be like, hey,
this is going good, congratulations. Yeah, so there wasn't a
reason to reach out. True. I called him once, he

(04:18):
called me once. I was looking at buying a house
in Hot Springs. I think we talked about that, go
to the game, see him a little bit. But then
it just it went downhill.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
When when do you think he kind of had the
idea that he was getting fired. Well, I think last
year for a while, okay, but then that went away.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
I think the Tennessee win last year was so big
for the program that that allowed him to keep his job.
I think when Memphis happened.

Speaker 6 (04:42):
But like halftime of Notre Dame game, he had to
be in there like damn, oh, this is my last half.
I'm done.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
I think after Memphis he knew this was going to
be his last year. I think at Notre Dame half
he knew this is probably going to be his last game,
especially going into the bye week. That sucks. So yeah,
it was a crazy weekend. I want to even say
Bad is embarrassing to get beat that bad on national television,
But I think we kind of needed that to go ahead.
And tear off the band aid. What's crazy is and

(05:10):
it's probably not as crazy from the outside looking in,
but the fact that Bobby Petrino's our head coach again
is wild. Considering when he went out like it was
like a flame, a fireball on its way out because
he wrecked the freaking motorcycle fingercoil. There was a whole
situation where he was. Yeah, he paid somebody to work
for It was a whole thing.

Speaker 6 (05:31):
I just picture him in a neck brace every time
we bring this up.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
I just picture him maybe like a boot, a cast
and leg, just standing there in the neck brace and
people that worked for him talk about how terrible he
was to work for. Now he won games. He won eleven,
he won ten. He won a lot of games, and
I don't work for you. Just win. Yeah, just win.
And if they don't want to work for you, they
don't have to. But it's bizarre that he's the head

(05:56):
coach again. I think there's almost no chance he keeps
that job after this year. I think he's gonna need
to win six, seven, six or seven games, unwinnable games.

Speaker 4 (06:07):
You got a tough schedule coming out, Yeah, I mean,
it's awful.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
We go to Tennessee in two weeks. That'll be his
first game. I was thinking about going over and just
watching it, you know, a.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
Little hoping a skit hours away.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
Little Bobby for Bobby. Here we go, let's get it.
One Bobby for another Bobby.

Speaker 6 (06:23):
Now, can you watch the rest of the season kind
of like, yeah, hey, whatever happens happened.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
I can watch the rest of the season just purely rooting,
without wondering what happens if it doesn't go right, because
I was rooting for us hard. But at the same time,
I'm going about halftime. Man, if we don't put up
a fight, it's over. We're just gonna turn the page.
And I think it'd be best for everybody to turn
the page. Yeah, yeah, So it's weird. It's weird when

(06:47):
you know the people that are getting fired. It's weird
when you know the people that are doing the firing.
So it's weird when you're giving money to the place
that's doing the firing because they sucked it and use
your money, right, I can't imagine what that feels like.
But I'm not even I'm not even the the whales.
I'm not even that the big tunas like I am.

Speaker 4 (07:04):
But still it's money, man, and like you give it
to it to an organization to do something good with it.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
And I've given hundreds of thousands of dollars in the
past few years, hundreds of thousands of dollars in the
past few years. That hurts, And I think that makes
you more sensitive about it because you're like, I'm paying
this in and I don't really use it for anything.
If we were good, i'd want to have access and
be up there. But when we suck, like they called

(07:30):
before the Notre Dame game, I'll just say they they
called and they said, hey, you still want your sweet tickets?
And I said, it's an interesting question for the weekend
for that game, okay. And I was like, I said why,
like you've never called before asking and they say, yeah,
everybody's backing out. Oh wow. And I said, you know,

(07:53):
well why And Caitlin's pregnant and she's not really wanting
to fly. And I was like, you know, that's a
perfect excuse. So I said, I said, we're going to
hang back. Reason, Yes, we're going to hang back. They
knew it wasn't personal. Reason Yeah, but that didn't good thing.

(08:14):
You didn't go man, yeah, but here we are. We're
actually recording this on late Sunday because I got a
flight I gotta catch quickly after the show Monday to
get to New York. So we're actually fresh after the
NFL games. We can go roll through some notes here.
I have written notes, random notes, and let us go
through them. Number one, our WTF parlay, it did not hit.

(08:36):
We did not expect it to hit. Yeah, it was
over immediately on Saturday. We said, WTF.

Speaker 4 (08:41):
Yeah, it just went away.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
I told you don't bet this. So the WTF parlay
of Arkansas winning and the Cowboys winning, we're at the
time we'll recording this. We have no idea what the
Cowboys did. They probably want you think so.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
No, I really don't think so.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
It was an odd day. I mean, look at the Giants.

Speaker 4 (09:04):
Yeah, the Giants and the Chargers the Bill the bill
Art is a close game, the Saints making it a
weird close game.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
Yeah, weird close games though that happens all the time.
The actually actually seeing a team lose. I was surprised
to see the Chargers, undefeated lose to the Giants. Jackson
Art look pretty good. He ran the ball a lot
at the beginning of the game and then he gets
his bell rung and it's like, yeah, if you run
them with a guy eleven times, yeah that early. Uh.
And he came back and they ended up winning the game.

Speaker 6 (09:31):
Yeah. And he's a guy that when he runs, even
in college especially, you like, he doesn't go down. He
goes and he goes head first. Yeah, and you're like, dude,
you got a chill. Got a chill for a game.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
I didn't see him wearing as many jewels, although I
didn't see a lot of clothes.

Speaker 6 (09:42):
A little bit I saw and he scored that touchdown,
he started doing a dance. All I see is a
necklace bouncing up night and up and down.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
I was watching on my phone. My wife was cool enough.
We were having dinner at the Nordstrom Cafe and we
go up and she was like, you can watch Red Zone.
Oh that's cool. Wow, we're having lunch. And I was like, well,
I wanted to be dul she does, I don't give
a crap more games, and so she goes, I'll watch
it with you. She's very much a college football person,
not really an NFL person. Yeah, but the Oklahoma Bowl

(10:08):
was happening, and so she was watching Jalen Hurts and
Baker mayfil play each other, and that was one of
the games they kept going back to.

Speaker 6 (10:15):
Yeah, that was a great game.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
Good game. It was good. Yeah, Bucks came back and fought.

Speaker 6 (10:19):
Man, No, she couldn't pull it out this time.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
They couldn't pull it out.

Speaker 6 (10:22):
We have money time this time, but next time, watch
out next time. Real quick, the giants, the neighbors will
see that.

Speaker 4 (10:29):
Yeah towards Ab didn't know so quick that he I
mean I I you see him grab his knee.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
You see what happens.

Speaker 4 (10:35):
You expect that to happen, for them to come out
real quick and be like, yeah confirmed. How quick was it,
because again I was I'd say thirty minutes.

Speaker 6 (10:41):
I saw the notification like an hour or two after.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
They know five minutes. They can feel it after they
get it under they know in five minutes.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
Okay, I didn't know they need an MRI to like confirm.

Speaker 6 (10:52):
Yeah, well I know the achilles because players have talked
about in the past like they felt it and like, yeah,
it's done.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
Who tore their achilles recently? It just happened and they
went down. Because when you said that, it's something came
to my mind.

Speaker 6 (11:03):
Recent recent. I mean Tatum pops in my head, but
that was six months ago.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
Now, No, this is like in the past few days.
He tore his achilles and he goes.

Speaker 6 (11:10):
Down and like, oh, Nauji Harris, maybe.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
That's who it was. He tore his last week last week,
Yeah it was, and he went down and immediately because
he picked his foot up, it was like, yeah, that's it.
That's what I'm so afraid of doing anything now.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
Oh just bending over to pick something up.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
It's protecting, protecting my achilles because that is the bad one.

Speaker 6 (11:29):
We see it all the time too well.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
And then we're older too, and then you see people
doing it playing pickleball, like just little thing, golfing.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
Dumb stuff like that. You're like, our friend of mine
stepped off a curb, that's it. And seriously, he is
all muscles, great shape, ripped, stepped off a curb, wrong,
Poppy's achilles and he was on crutches for nine months,
felt like forever. Another note I have speaking of that
Eagles game, the Eagles fake push push had to piss
everybody off. Oh yeah, they ran basically a counter. It

(11:59):
was okay, let's get up to the line and they
handed to Saquon around the edge. Nobody was near him.
And so if you have to watch for the counters,
if you have to watch for anything other than the
touch push, you're not gonna stop the tousch push because
you you need everybody to get down dive bomb that
for a chance, and you're not even gonna stop it then,
so it's over. They were waiting for that. Yeah, they

(12:20):
knew it was gonna work as soon as they drew
it up. Let's let's run the touch push counter. Uh,
Saquon jogged in.

Speaker 6 (12:26):
That had to be like a trolling move. Slightly right
with Siriani, Like, you guys are so mad about the
touch push. Here you go take this.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
We're not doing it. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (12:34):
Another shovel pass is so cool too, Like how they
get away they do that shovel pass to the tight
end from the touch push. Yeah, I just don't know
how you stop that as a defense. Its just it's
just with the with the Eagles, it's it's it's so
hard because like they've got Saquon, they have hurts, and
then you got the passing game. But no, then you
have a tight end that they're gonna shut. They're gonna
shove it to Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
I watched the Virginia Florida State game on Friday night. No,
not all of it, the end of it. I'm not
gonna act like I was so dialed in and I
watched all of it because I didn't. But I watched
probably three quarters of the fourth quarter and then the
clip has just been played ten thousand times of that
field storming. Yeah, it's the quickest field storming I've ever seen.

Speaker 6 (13:14):
Insane.

Speaker 4 (13:15):
It's almost like they were loading up on the side
before it even happened, because.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
They were they were loading.

Speaker 4 (13:20):
Up on the back of the end soide.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
That's it. That's it.

Speaker 6 (13:21):
Yeah, And like before you even saw whether you caught
it or not, they were already going.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
There's no there was no barrier either. The receiver was
still on the ground ran in.

Speaker 5 (13:30):
Ye.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
That was awesome. It was great. Luckily there was no
flag because it was an incomplete pass, and luckily there
was no flag anywhere because there could have been a
flat there could have been like a defensive holding on
the other side of the field. Yeah, nothing out. They
had to do like Arizona State did last year and
make everybody get off the field after they had rushed
the field, run another play once. I remember seeing Kentucky
rush the field, jump on the field goal post and

(13:52):
then they end up losing the game.

Speaker 6 (13:54):
Is that lsu Yeah right, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
The kids have to stop with a flipping off though.

Speaker 6 (14:01):
Old guy for I was annoyed by looking at me too.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
I was like, come on, man, explain, explain why you
say that.

Speaker 4 (14:06):
Well, you just see, like I mean, guys, guys, girls, everyone,
and I saw it live. I don't know what picture
you guys are talking about, but when it happened, they
would cut away really quick when they saw but kids
were just running up to the you know, the Florida
State players and just flipping them off right in front
of their face mask.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
There was one picture that was going viral of a
guy holding his phone up taking a pick a video
of a Florida State player while flipping them off with
the other hand. Yeah, it's just like you and you
can't do anything back. But if they do, you're like
a kind of like, I understand why you would feel
the need. You can't do it. You gotta be bigger

(14:43):
than that if you lose. But they're triggered because they lost.
They lost it the last and then they didn't lose
on the last play. They had to actually make that catch,
so it wasn't like they were up and lost, but
still you can't. It's also some guy that could have
never played football, right, it's beat up ultimate loser that
never would do do that in that same situation anywhere
other than right then and there where they were protected.

Speaker 6 (15:04):
And he wants to go viral. Why he's doing that.

Speaker 1 (15:08):
We hate you, dude, We don't like you. We watched the.

Speaker 6 (15:10):
Blunt La Garrett Blunt. Yeah, and do it in organ
then do it?

Speaker 1 (15:14):
Yeah. Okay, let's see I wrote missed the first half
of the first games at the mall. I prefer long shorts.
Now here's your note. But here's why I wrote that.
It has nothing to do with football. I was missing
the games, which I was happy to do. And we
went into Lulu Lemon because my wife wanted to get

(15:35):
some pants or something and she's like, I like it
when you wear those shorts instead of the ones that
you wear, and they're like they're like, not even halfway.

Speaker 4 (15:44):
Through the quad you were trying them all.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
No, they're just on the mannequin and just the legs.
It's not even like full mannequin with the full body.
She's like, I like it when you wear those short shorts,
and I don't think she does. I think she just
hates it when I wear my nineties Church lead basketball
because every pair of shorts I have is that, if
it's not a pair of dress shorts, they all go
down to my knees. It's you know, Chris Webber, It's

(16:10):
it's that, And so I wrote that as a note.

Speaker 6 (16:13):
So it's a thing now though it's like a fashion popular.

Speaker 1 (16:17):
I have some and I wear them occasionally. I feel
like my balls are coming out of right.

Speaker 6 (16:20):
I'll wear them around the house, but out in public,
I'm like, I don't know if I can do this.

Speaker 4 (16:24):
Are they workout shorts, Yes, the workouts you can. I
mean you can hang out if you want, because I
have like these nice, nice shorts that are like too high,
and I feel like my nuts are hanging out of
those and like, I don't know, man, they just don't
feel comfortable. I don't think anybody wants to see our
leg that much of our leg. Maybe our wives do.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
I don't even think it's that they want to see
our leg. I think it's just the style of the short.
Otherwise it looks extremely dated.

Speaker 6 (16:47):
The baggy shorts will make a comeback.

Speaker 1 (16:50):
Everything does? I know? Right, But then they're going to
go out of style again if we're using that logic.
But everything that's true. The Steelers backup quarterback Skyler Thompson
got up and robbed in Dublin. They didn't say much
else dangerous. I've been to Dublin. Everybody's drunk.

Speaker 4 (17:09):
But I mean you read that a little headline like that,
you're thinking, like, whoa dude not walk the streets of.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
Dublin exactly at night? I don't know what time he
was out, but you're exactly right. Everybody's drunk. And I
think a peaky blinders, Like everybody's peaky blinders after like
eleven o'clock. If you're walking, it's nighttime. You're in Dublin.
A bunch of drunk Irish dudes.

Speaker 4 (17:29):
Is that peaky blinders?

Speaker 1 (17:30):
I don't know if they're Irish. Nob that's what I think.

Speaker 6 (17:33):
Yeah, you never seen it.

Speaker 4 (17:35):
No, it's like a white game, Okay, Yeah.

Speaker 6 (17:37):
And he's on ir so he was probably drinking because
he's not playing right now.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
And he stayed yeah, he stayed with the team. Yeah,
so he's hanging out, so you get robbed what it said, Yeah,
jumped and robbed. That sucks. So if you're like a
professional athlete to have to go back and tell your
boys that you got jumped and robbed, you're an athlete.

Speaker 4 (17:56):
Man, You're tough, like be.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
Superman like beat him up. He's the one percent over
here in America.

Speaker 4 (18:03):
I would make up those ten guys though, Yeah, couldn't
stop them.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
They all had gone.

Speaker 6 (18:06):
Seen the other nine, you know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (18:08):
Yeah, So saw that the Oregon Penn State game was good?
Aw good, Yeah, it was good. I watched all of that,
flipping back and forth between the Alabama Georgia game. Yes,
that was a weird game. I picked Georgia. Our parlay
did not hit because I had Georgia winning. The other
games hit, so that's on me. But I was rooting

(18:31):
for Alabama. I think Calender Boar was a good coach.
I've been saying it even though even with all the losing.
I think he's a good coach. And the lady who
wanted to buy out his contract with the power Ball,
I thought about her, what would you do with eight
hundred million? I buy out Kaitlin Bors contract?

Speaker 6 (18:48):
So hi Simpson's legit.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
Yeah, he's good.

Speaker 6 (18:51):
He throws a beautiful football.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
They can run too. And you know he only won
the quarterback competition like right before the seasons.

Speaker 6 (18:57):
Yeah, and he lost it to Milroe what two years ago,
last year whatever that was, and stayed, yeah, which is
unheard of.

Speaker 1 (19:03):
Love somebody that stays. It's like nes Myer at LSU,
like he stayed. He backed up Jane Daniels for two years. Yeah. Yeah,
so I love somebody that stays. Although Ness Meyer, I
think he's hurt.

Speaker 6 (19:16):
There's got to be something. I think it's hurt because
they can't put up twenty points even.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
I think he's hurt. It was fun to see Lane
Kiffin win that game. It wasn't about him away so
it was an old miss home game. But the fact
that Lane's daughter is dating with Weeks, the linebacker who
I know from the Netflix series Same. Yeah, they like him.

Speaker 6 (19:33):
I mean I liked him too. I like his brothers too,
his old family.

Speaker 1 (19:36):
All three of his brothers play for LSU right now. Yeah,
and so to see that Lane Kiffn's daughter's dating the
LSU guy. Weird that Lane Kiffin said before the game
take the over, like they were going to score a
bunch of points. Even just insinuating gambling talk is hilarious.
And then afterward he did it again after they won
the game. So that's fun. It was a fun college

(19:56):
football weekend through the first noon games of the NFL.
It's kind of a boring NFL first round. I loved it, Yeah,
because the Patriots won. Put a whooping on Massacred.

Speaker 6 (20:08):
I haven't seen a game like that since that TV
twelve I was back there.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
It didn't start good.

Speaker 6 (20:12):
Oh I almost tex you guys like, oh no, it's
gonna be a long day.

Speaker 4 (20:16):
Hey, no text throughout the day.

Speaker 6 (20:17):
I know. I think it's because we knew we were
gonna be hanging out.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
Oh no, I didn't.

Speaker 6 (20:21):
Oh no, that was just me.

Speaker 1 (20:24):
I guess.

Speaker 6 (20:25):
Oh you were at lunch, is what it was.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
I was at lunch for the first part. And then
everything was going good in the Patriots game, so I
don't need to text anything about that. And the other
game we were caring about.

Speaker 6 (20:36):
Was the Eagles and the Eagles and the Bucks, and.

Speaker 1 (20:39):
I just didn't want to waste a Hey, then there's
no way Baker can do this again. I know, because
I really didn't think he would in the last two weeks.
I thought maybe he can, because there's plenty of time.
I didn't think he could. And when they were like,
you know, milking it down to like six seconds, I
was like, I'm just gonna let this one go.

Speaker 6 (20:54):
Yeah, he tried, but they were down big. I mean
I think they were twenty four to three. Maybe at
one point they had shot too.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
He threw that pick a couple of shots. Yeah, Yer
down big. Okay, we're gonna go and talk to Brandon
Marcelo in just a second. So let's take a quick break.
We will talk a lot about Arkansas had football coach
being fired. Who could be next? The Alabama game, the
Oregon game. I got a business idea as well. So
we'll come back right after this football is back. And

(21:22):
so what's your chance to cash in like never before?
With Draftkins Pick six, the official daily fantasy partner of
the NFL, your game day instincts can score you real
money fast. Here's how to play. You just picked more
or less on two or more player stats from rookies
running the ball, quarterbacks throwing the ball. You know, unlock
the upside every snap brings. For example, let's talk about

(21:45):
the games tonight. Jamar Chase more or less than sixty
four receiving yards versus the Broncos. I'd probably go more
on that one. JK. Dobbins more or less than sixty
five rushing yards versus the Bengals. I'm probably gonna go
more on that one. Yeah, I do a lot of
mores on this. Bownecks more or less than two twenty passing,
I would go less. That's the one I want to
go less on because I don't think they'll need to
throw the ball that much. Now, new Draft Kings customers

Speaker 1 (23:00):
Okay, let's go over now to Brandon Marcelo, who writes
for CBS. You can follow him on Instagram at Brandon Marcelo.
His latest article was about the University of Arkansas and
having to move on from Sam Pittman. So here he
is National college football insider Brandon Marcelo. All right, Brandon
Marcelo is on with us. Let's start because it's close

(23:21):
to my heart. And also, you were at the game.
When did you first hear that Sam Pittman was fired?

Speaker 5 (23:26):
About when everybody else did. I was actually on the
phone with someone that was in the dark like me,
and I was wondering if kind of that they had
a job still in that building, and that's when the
news broke. I'm kind of told that I guess it
went out to the public about the same time. The
staffers found out just about the same time at Arkansas.

(23:49):
So but yesterday or on Saturday, I should say, it
became pretty clear that something was going to happen one
way or another, whether there's gonna be some staff changes,
head coach. And you know, as i'd been reporting since
the week before last, the idea that the buy out
for him and dropping after a few more losses that

(24:10):
being an issue. I was told that wasn't going to
be an issue if things got bad enough, and losing
by forty three points at home was certainly bad enough.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
I made the last minute call not to go to
that game. Would you say that was a good call? Yeah.

Speaker 5 (24:24):
Man, I've been to a few games there where you know,
it empties out, it's a blowout or whatever. I've been
to several or two under Pittman where it's been like that.
The Missouri game I think last year or maybe a
couple of years ago, I can't remember which, and it
was like ten fifteen thousand Missouri fans still in the stadium,

(24:45):
and it was kind of just like, wow, what is this?
And then yesterday Saturday was just about as bear as
I've seen it late in the fourth quarter. I mean
I heard player parents yelling at the coaches. You know,
it was like watch a pee wee game, Like, hey,
the put the backups in. I mean, play your parents.
It's not what you expect from the SEC football team.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
Yeah, it sucked, but at least the team, the program
can move forward. Now. Bobby Petrino, I never thought i'd
see the day that he was the head coach again.
He is the interim head coach. Does he have any
shot at retaining that job?

Speaker 5 (25:21):
He'd have to do something pretty miraculous. I mean, you
look at the schedule. Five of the last seven opponents
are all ranked, and the other two have a combined
record of seven and three right now. So even the
teams that aren't ranked, Mississippi State and Auburn are pretty good.
So considering how badly this defense has been playing, and

(25:45):
you know the things I've heard about the just the
locker room atmosphere right now, and kind of it's a
bunch of new faces and maybe they're just not kind
of all holding onto the rope at the same time
the same way. It would be the miracle of miracles
if they were to somehow get out of that to
a situation where Arkansas is talking about, you know, an

(26:07):
eight win seasons. I think it'd had to take something
like that for Petrino to even be considered for the
full time gig. Considering his past, He's been given second
chance after second chance, like practically everywhere. I mean this
is Remember he went to Louisville twice. He's been to
Arkansas twice. He got back into coaching by starting back

(26:27):
off at Missouri State and working his way up to
Western Kentucky then Louisville. And I think to me, Bobby,
I don't know about you. Bobby Patrino needs to approach
this opportunity as a moment to walk into the sunset
with his head held high for the first time. We

(26:47):
all know how it ended at Arkansas back in twenty eleven.
I don't think we've ever seen a second opportunity like this.
And he's not going to erase the past, but represent
the program well, do well by yourself and the players,
take care of everybody around you, and go maybe go
win a couple of games and show some passion and

(27:09):
talk about how important the state is to you and
getting this opportunity, and you'll be able to leave when
this is all over with and be able to say
I never thought i'd get my second chance, and I did,
and I feel like I did it the right way.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
Let me throw a few coaches at you, and you
tell me if you think there's any shy that Arkansas
lands the coach ratt lastly at SMU.

Speaker 5 (27:27):
Yeah, there's a chance he's in a better spot right
now at SMU financially because of the NIL backing all
that stuff and the revenue sharing. But if Arkansas can
get its ducks in a row and throw some support
behind him and show here's our plan, here's our NIL plan.
This is how much money you're gonna get to work with.
This is a structure we're going to provide to you.

(27:48):
Because right now it's not say it's in shambles, but
it's not very good at Arkansas. They need to get
everything put together for that to pitch it to him
and then tug on his heartstrings. He's an Arkansas guy,
grew up in Springdale. You know, I've known him forever.
He has tons of pictures of himself dressed up in
razorback gear. I remember him telling me stories about going

(28:11):
to go see Ken Hatfield, the former Arkansas coach being
excited just to go somewhere, to go see him and
shake his hand and get to meet him and talk
talk about becoming a head coach someday. And his dream
was to be the head coach at Arkansas someday. But
times change, people change, and he's in a very good
spot at SMU. I think it would take quite a
bit of commitment on Arkansas's part to entice him.

Speaker 1 (28:35):
What about a guy like Dan Mullin at un LV
is his first year there, but he had a lot
of success in the SEC the first time. I probably
got run from Florida little too early.

Speaker 5 (28:42):
Yeah, I think he did too. He got ran from
there too early. Let's see how Dan does here in
the back half of the schedule. I'm not discounting the
way they started to going four and oh, but the
schedule hasn't been all that tough. Remember their first game
against Idaho State, they probably should have lost an FCS team.
But I think I agree with you. Dan's an incredible coach, schemer,

(29:03):
but I think he's a name that won't start creeping
up unless they start winning some bigger games in the
Mountain West, especially in conference there.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
My final question about who could possibly be the coach.
Is what coordinator? Are you hearing whispers they're looking to
make that jump to the head coaching job at a
P four school.

Speaker 5 (29:22):
Will Stein, the offensive coordinator at Oregon, He's someone that
I think is going to get a lot of consideration
out there potentially. Also, keep in mind, we're probably gonna
have a record breaking year as far as coach openings,
so there's gonna be a lot of jobs available and
a lot of candidates and a lot of assistant coaches
making that jump. You know, consider Glenn Schuman, the defensive
coordinator at Georgia. They did a pretty good job in

(29:46):
the second half against Alabama. He's always been a good coordinator,
someone on the rise, And as we saw Dan Lanning,
formerly a coordinator under under Kirby, making that jump. But
right now, I think it's a lot of like prove
it type things. That was really high. For example, going
into last week on Andy Kttlenecky, the offensive cornerator of
Penn State, and you saw how much they struggled until

(30:06):
the fourth quarter when the offense finally came back to life.
But these days, a lot of ads want a head
coach who's a CEO type that can handle everything, not
necessarily someone who have to handle the back office stuff
and everything and also call plays. They need someone who
is trained to handle that stuff. And it is more
a business like approach, So you'd have to be a really,

(30:30):
really hot coordinator I think to really get a big
ton of consideration right now.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
These programs like A Virginia A, UCLA and Arkansas that
obviously are going to have to hire a new coach,
they are in the middle of the season, Like how
aggressive can they hunt and who's doing the hunting? Who
are they talking to?

Speaker 5 (30:46):
You know, a lot of these schools they'll go hire
a search firm of some sort and it's usually the
same one, and they kind of compile a list, they
start making calls, gauging type of interest at least from
the agents. Rarely are they actually talking directly to the coaches.
They're talking to their agents and then the agents are
hitting up their coaches from time to time. But I

(31:07):
think you're getting it a good point here, which is
there's only so much you can do. I mean, we're
not even out of the month of September and we're
talking about coaching changes, and you're not going to be
able to hire anyone until the first week or second
week of December, because everybody's coaching right now. So a
coach could show a lot of interest in a job
and that could change overnight because one they don't like

(31:28):
the situation, potentially they're being offered, or two another job
comes open, or they hear another job's going to come open.
But places like Virginia Tech, Arkansas and elsewhere, they've certainly
got a working list that are putting together. They're vetting
all of that in the early going. But you're right,
there's just not much you can do, like anybody expecting,
like by mid October to start hearing at police places

(31:50):
like so and so is gonna end up being the coach,
your kid and yourself.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
I should have added the Tech because Virginia had a
really good winn against Florida State, So that'll lead me
there Florida State. That was kind of a ripe game
for Florida State to lose in hindsight, right.

Speaker 5 (32:05):
Yeah, absolutely, because you know, going into that, both offenses
are in the top five top ten nationally. Florida State
was number one. Virginia was no slouch. They were scoring
almost fifty points a game themselves. They brought in a
lot of transfers, and you talk about nil money. I'm
actually writing a story about this. They they got a gigantic,
anonymous gift from a booster and they used that to

(32:28):
help build this roster. Their general manager said back in July,
the moment they got that gift, they said, our recruiting
board completely changed. They erased it and started putting new
names on there because they could get bigger guys. And
I've told my sources there in Charlottesville told me they
spent about twenty million dollars if not more, just an
nil money on the portal this offseason, and it's paid

(32:51):
dividends for them. Right Eight of their starters are all
new players. Nineteen of the thirty two transfers that came
in all played a significant part on the field against
Florida State. That's our roster looks completely different and they're
playing differently. And it just goes to show you these
days in college football, that you can change things overnight
if you just got like deep, deep pockets in the

(33:13):
big nil program.

Speaker 1 (33:14):
Let's do a couple same song, different verses, and we
can start with James Franklin at Penn State losing another
Big One actually the first white out they've ever lost
double overtime. It's a great game for me because I
didn't really have a rooting interest. But when will James
Franklin lose in these games? Wear thin on Penn State?

Speaker 5 (33:29):
I think it has warn thin. I think it's warm
thin on them. A few years ago they're two and
twenty one, or excuse me. James Franklin overall in his
career is two and twenty one against top six teams,
second worst ever all time, which is actually just behind
a Hall of Fame coach Frank Beemer at Virginia Tech.
He has the actual worst record against top six, top
five type teams. And give credit to James Franklin quite

(33:52):
a bit because listen to Big Ten media days, all
these other events I go to where he's at. I'm
not kidding you. He's probably asked two or three times
about his record against top five teams, like are you
ever gonna win the Big One? Are you're gonna be
able to do it? And of course he was asked
about it again Saturday night after losing, and he said,
it's not a narrative, it's just facts. I mean, he's
just like he's what he's saying is, you're not just

(34:14):
telling me something to anger me. I know, it's a fact,
and that's my fault is kind of what he's saying,
and he just knows he has to win. I think
also we need to put in contexts that yes, Penn
State is a blue blood, but the talent level that
they bring into Penn State is probably a half step
to one step below what you see at Michigan and

(34:35):
Ohio State every single year, and for that matter, Oregon
the level they recruit. Just go look at the numbers
and the players. But we have it in our head
that Penn State should be winning a national title every
few years because James Franklin's made them so consistent year
after year after year winning ten games, and they just
can't get over that last step because, I mean, let's
face it, their stride is a little bit shorter than

(34:58):
those other bigger schools.

Speaker 1 (35:00):
Version of same song, different verse is Alabama Georgia, where
it doesn't matter who the coaches at Alabama, they tend
to beat Georgia and Kirby Smart every year.

Speaker 5 (35:07):
That was nuts man, And in the second half, I
think Kirby Smart's just like legitimately sees ghost whenever Alabama's
on the other sideline, doesn't matter who the coach is.
Some weird decisions. They got fourth and one at Alabama's
eight yard line. Instead of kicking a field goal to
tie it in the second half, they decide to run
a quick handoff to Cash Jones, who hadn't really touched

(35:28):
the ball at all, and he ends up stumbling and
getting blown up by lt Overton for Alabama, and they
lose yardage and turn over the ball. And then later
they call another play on fourth down and they turned
the ball over again by you guessed it, throwing it
out to Cash Jones, who lost yardage on it. I
even tweeted during the game, I was like, somebody explain

(35:50):
Cash Jones to me, because it does make no sense
why they were utilizing that guy in the two biggest
plays of the game. And then you had a player
get an unsportsman like conduct penalty for jumping on top
of the pile on a tush push where it was
third and one. Alabama picked up the first down, but
also they got an additional fifteen yards so Alabama could
keep the ball and melt the clock down. Just weird

(36:10):
decisions and smart defending himself afterwards said ten times out
of ten he'd call that trick, that that quick handof
instead of kicking the field goal for the tie. And listen,
this is something to dates back even back to twenty
eighteen in the SEC championship game, that the fake punt
that made no sense against Alabama. I think he just
overthinks himself quite a bit, and that's been his undoing

(36:32):
and cret to Kaylin de Bor. I mean, he's seven
to one now against top ten teams in his head
coaching career. The guy's just a big game coach.

Speaker 1 (36:41):
Three questions left. Let's go to Vandy. They're scoring a
bunch of points. They're going to play Alabama next week. One,
how good is Vandy? And two? Is this something Vandy
can sustain for a couple of years at this point.

Speaker 5 (36:53):
If they get Diego Pavier like a seventh and eighth
year of eligibility. Yeah, he's the engine man, right, And
I think that combination of him and then getting Jerry Kill,
the former New Mexico State coach there on staff to
kind of help guide things and say, hey, this is
what works with Diego has really helped. But I think
when Diego leaves, they'll take a little bit of a

(37:13):
step back. But the good thing is is Diego has
set up a foundation, so to speak of Hey, good
talent can come here. And by the way, when you
are here, you're not just going to float in space.
You're going to potentially win games. And as you've seen,
they've they've updated facilities there. They're they're amazing there in Nashville.
Now Clark Lee's got that thing going, I think they're

(37:34):
going to attract a better type of recruit they already
are as for this weekend. It's so weird to say this,
but Alabama's out for blood against Vanderbilt. This is a
revenge game for Alabama because Vandy beat him last year.
I think I think Vandy's walking into a hornet's nest.
If they haven't faced an opponent nearly as good as
Alabama yet this season, and it being on the road,

(37:57):
I think I think it has the potential the potential
to get ugly because I think Diego Pavier might get
put into a lot of troubling situations where he's going
to turn the ball over trying to force things.

Speaker 1 (38:07):
All right, two questions left, Uh, do your heisman? Top three? Right?
Now because it is not what I thought it would
be at this point in the year.

Speaker 5 (38:14):
Oh gosh, I haven't even thought about it.

Speaker 1 (38:17):
Cause it ain't. It ain't ness Meyer. He struggled or
been hurt or whatever's happening. I don't know what's happening.

Speaker 5 (38:22):
Yeah, he's off the not off the board, but he's Yeah.
Dante Moore's climbing up there. To me, the Oregon quarterback, Uh,
he's been phenomenal. I put him up there. Fernando Mendoza
is still up there. I think Carson Beck is potentially
going to start climbing up the charts more they get
Florida State this week on the road. If he has

(38:42):
a big performance on the road against Florida State in
a rivalry game, I think that's when you'll see Carson
Beck potentially go up further. But it's crazy just a
week ago that the Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza jumped up
to number one after just blowing out Illinois. But right
now it seems like it's gonna be a Coureter Award,
which it really hasn't been in recent history. But it

(39:04):
seems like we're we're moving more in that direction. One
dark horse, I'll say is Missouri running back of Maud Hardy.
He has been phenomenal. He's had five straight games one
hundred plus yards. He just had another one hundred and
thirty yard game Saturday night. He's the best running back
in the SEC, maybe the country, and Miszoo likes to
feed him. He's not one of these running backs nowadays

(39:26):
that touches the ball fifteen times and that's it. He'll
get it twenty twenty five times. And he's just explosive
and a hard runner. And once they start playing better
teams and he puts that type production, I think you'll
you'll start hearing his name quite a bit more.

Speaker 1 (39:39):
All right, final question, This is more of a suggestion
that I would make Rry Macro to a school like
an Arkansas that complains about nil. But it is it
is ironic that Arkansas will go ahead and pay the
extra two million for his buyout. But we don't have
enough money to support an il Like it's like you
have the money, you just haven't used it. So what
if we could invest into these teams, meaning let's say

(40:03):
they needed one hundred bucks and I was like, okay,
I'll give ten and take take the ten and get
you in and at the end, if we end up
making four hundred, I get my percentage based on how
the school did in revenue with the money I gave.
So it's not like rich people just giving money and
going here you go have money with nothing for me
except for me getting to brag about being able to donate.

(40:25):
What if there was the ability to make money back
on a team, if you gave money.

Speaker 5 (40:29):
We're a great idea.

Speaker 6 (40:31):
You should pitch it.

Speaker 1 (40:33):
I'm serious, like I want because look, I'm gonna be honest.
I give money, and they want more money. They never don't,
they never want less money. I've never had that happen
in my whole life where they've been like, you know what,
you've given us a little too much, keep some for yourself.
That's never happened. But I start to go, especially after
the Arkansas AD last week or two weeks whenever it

(40:53):
was whenever speaking of the touchdown club, Yeah, he was like,
you know, we're just not we don't really have it
to be a championship team. And I'm like, well, then
why am I giving money if we don't have it?
Why do you continue to take my money if we
don't have it. So now I'm thinking if there was
like a revenue model for investors to get paid, I
could see a lot of folks throwing money into this thing.
Is that something? Have you ever heard of that before?

(41:15):
Or am I absolutely insane?

Speaker 5 (41:17):
No, you're not insane, and I haven't really heard that before.
I'm also not very smart with money, so that's probably
why I've never thought of something like that. But it
certainly sounds very doable, right especially can you imagine some
of these programs, like even like you said, Arkansas, where
everybody's all about it in one state, and you've got

(41:37):
a lot of smart business people in this state that
would be willing you know what. That sounds like a
good opportunity, a good idea. I like it. You need
to go pitch that you can do next time Arkansas
asks you for next time Arkansas asks you for more money,
go hey, set up money. Here's an idea.

Speaker 1 (41:50):
Yeah. I got a envelope in the mill yesterday as
one of those hey check this box if you can
give us this amount of money, And I was like,
I was just told we can't win, so why do
I want to give more money? So I'm sure or
I'll have to give some more. Now. I'm happy to
give more now that we are moving, hopefully in a
different direction. But man, to be at that game. Were
you hearing any whispers in the press box about anything? Uh?

Speaker 5 (42:09):
Yeah, yeah, I mean they're just talking to people. They're
just like this. There's no coming back from this. It's
also getting some weird looks from some people, going, why
are you here?

Speaker 1 (42:19):
Oh yeah, national guy in the Arkansas press box.

Speaker 5 (42:23):
And I was sitting in the very back on like
the third row. But you know, two of the last
three games i've been at, the head coach got fired.

Speaker 1 (42:32):
No, you gotta keep him away. He's like that cat
at the nursing home that shows up near the door,
and if it shows up near the person's door, the
person always dies. Brandon is the cat at the nursing home.
Oh no, all right, brand.

Speaker 5 (42:46):
Well, I'm going to be at I'm going to be
at Miami Florida State this week.

Speaker 1 (42:49):
So I think you're good.

Speaker 5 (42:50):
Anybody will get fired after that. I think I'm good.

Speaker 1 (42:52):
I think you're good. Acfully, Hey, good to talk to you, Brandon.
We'll talk to you again next week, all right, see you,
all right, see you, buddy. Football is back. And so

Speaker 1 (44:31):
All right, Eddie, you're done Bettan NFL games?

Speaker 4 (44:34):
Yeah, I think I'm done doing the straight up game parlays. Dude,
I haven't hit one all season, you know, Like.

Speaker 1 (44:40):
I didn't get a ghost leg this week. That's what
I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (44:42):
You have to earn the ghost leg you get, you
get a free one. But then after now I spend
enough to earn one, you should You should definitely be
getting a lot of ghost legs. But like I noticed, like,
uh A, last week I didn't get a ghost leg,
and that's because I never clicked the option to make
a bet to get a ghost leg. So I did
it finally and I got a ghost leg. Still can't

(45:02):
hit a dude, But you ghost this week? I ghosts
like this week. But I missed and I missed it.
I missed it, and I'm done doing like straight up games.
I'm not doing like you know, steelers to win money line.
I'm not doing, not doing the twelve gamers that I
used to. I'm not even getting close to those.

Speaker 6 (45:16):
These are hard.

Speaker 1 (45:17):
They're so hard.

Speaker 4 (45:18):
Even when I picked two games, I don't hit them. Yeah,
But dude, I'm loving this, like you know Jamior Gibbs
touchdown Aaron Rodgers two touchdown pass, Like I'm loving those
stat parlays. I've already hit like four of them, and
that's like my thing now. And I think Brandon and
you should do pick six, then I should do pick six.

Speaker 1 (45:37):
If you can do stats, you should do pick six. Okay.
But anytime you think you're good at something you're not,
that's when it comes crashing down. Yep. Anytime you think
you have anything figured out in gambling, and not just you,
especially you, but anybody else.

Speaker 4 (45:50):
Well, to me, it's just I was doing so bad
the other way that I made a change and it
worked and it made me really happy.

Speaker 1 (45:57):
Did you make money this weekend? I did well.

Speaker 4 (45:59):
I made money. I made a lot of money on Saturday.
And then, dude, it happens every Saturday. I feel like
I'm just dominating college football, like this is awesome. And
then I go to the nightcap games and I'm at
I'm at utl Passo versus who knows?

Speaker 1 (46:14):
Why are you betting that game? But listen, and I'm like, oh,
you know what, this game's over.

Speaker 4 (46:19):
I'm just gonna I'm just gonna bet fifty dollars that
nothing's going to happen, that the score is gonna say
the same no interception, does the guy fall down and
just like intercept the ball? No, he runs it in
for a touchdown. I lose fifty dollars and it makes
me so mad. So what do I do? I bet
fifty more on on.

Speaker 1 (46:35):
B Why don't you stop betting the games you have
no understanding of anything happening. I think that's that's your
mess up.

Speaker 4 (46:41):
The last game of the night b YU a Colorado
and I'm like, oh, come on, b Y, he's gonna
win this.

Speaker 1 (46:46):
So I got my money back.

Speaker 6 (46:48):
You did win that one.

Speaker 4 (46:49):
I did win that. I got my fifty dollars back.

Speaker 1 (46:50):
But is this like whenever you said you were making
thirty dollars a picture on Instagram and I got in
and you weren't, and you almost you almost never did
because I looked at your money. If I were to
look at your DraftKings, yeah I had fifty dollars. No,
I'm saying, what I see that you made money or lost? Sure? Yeah,
you can see my bets bets now, I don't want
to see it. Dude. It's a lot of bets, but
stop betting on games that you don't know anything about.

Speaker 4 (47:11):
That's the best, though, That's the best because I'm like,
what am I going to do? Everyone's asleep, It's eleven
thirty at night. I want to stay up and watch
and bet a dollar? I know I should, yeah, and
then wake up happy.

Speaker 1 (47:21):
I should.

Speaker 4 (47:22):
Yeah, But I'm having I'm having fun, dude, Dude, I'm
telling you a weekend, I probably placed thirty bets.

Speaker 1 (47:29):
Yeah, I probably. I mean I probably do that too.
Finger happy. Man. It's a lot, but minor on games.
I at least know what the mascot is true.

Speaker 4 (47:41):
You know no, no, no, no, the Miners, I didn't. I
don't even know who they were playing. Oh ut oh
utah oh.

Speaker 1 (47:47):
And then I stayed up for.

Speaker 6 (47:47):
The Raging Cajuns Louisiana.

Speaker 1 (47:49):
They were overtime and Louisiana was playing overtime. You're playing
at me like, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm not. You
don't need to bet those games. Yeah, those the only
thing that's on. Did you do you do any of
the listening in the booth like with it? Did you
see that on Friday? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (48:04):
Dude, I love that. Okay, So on Friday the Virginia
Florida State game. Uh, every time the play would go
under review, they would play the audio of the guys
back in New York watching the screens and the referee
watching the screen. So the watching them converse and listening
to them be like, all right, see his hand, I
see his hand touching the ground. But is that ball moving?
And then you can hear him arguing and be like,

(48:25):
I think the ball's moving. No, Tom, I really don't
think the ball is moving there. And then the ref's like, uh,
you guys, figure this one out, Like you get to
hear all it was? So I never heard the ref go.

Speaker 1 (48:34):
You guys figured this one out, but I do understand
what celess flip a coin. I didn't hear that one.

Speaker 4 (48:41):
And then what was cool is and then you decide, okay,
so is it gonna be overturned. Let's just go with
overturn all right? One overturn, yeah, overturn three, overturn all right.
And then he takes his headphones off, and it's cool
because you get to watch it, you get to hear it,
where like we're just used to watching the guy look
at the screen and then blah blah.

Speaker 6 (48:57):
Blah blah talking to somebody in there who knows.

Speaker 4 (49:00):
Yeah, and then you get a real good understanding of like, oh,
that does make sense, Like now I get why that
wasn't targeting.

Speaker 6 (49:06):
They got to hate that though.

Speaker 1 (49:06):
They're just showing their work. It's like when we do
math problems in eighth grade, it was like, okay, now
you get your answer, but you got to show your work. Yeah,
So when they show their work, you see how they
get there, so you have a better understanding of what
the result is even if you don't agree with it.
But I always agree. I agree with it both times
I saw it. I saw it twice.

Speaker 4 (49:23):
Oh, they showed it every time, but I only saw twice.
I guess you only watched the end, right.

Speaker 1 (49:27):
I watched the last two thirds of the final quarter
and then the overtimes. Yeah, so they do it overtime.
I didn't see it overtime.

Speaker 4 (49:35):
I didn't see it overtime. So is this something that
they can.

Speaker 1 (49:38):
Do for like ever, because they can if they would
like to, like Amazon, if on Amazon, but maybe it's
Amazon Prime Stats. Yeah, so there's different feeds. Yeah, it's Amazon.
You can go to a different feed altogether and watch
almost what's like an All twenty two version and see
plays developed. Oh that's awesome. And so you're not watching

(49:59):
from the typical view I was thinking of because I
get Amazon and YouTube TV mixed up because they're both
streaming both digital. It's Amazon, and you can back off
and do another view.

Speaker 6 (50:09):
Yeah, they have like probability that so and so's coming,
who's blitzer?

Speaker 1 (50:12):
And they have like the bottom circle on the blitzers
and sometimes they the blitzer tricks them. But if they
think it's blitzing, it gets dark, like darker like hot
pin I look like a video game a little. I've
never seen that. Awesome it's super cool. So that is fun. Though.

Speaker 4 (50:26):
Do you guys like the skycam?

Speaker 1 (50:29):
No, I actually hate it.

Speaker 6 (50:32):
Wait, like the one in the wires.

Speaker 1 (50:34):
Yeah, one of the wires. It looks like when they
first started showing football on television in like the sixties,
when they had one camera at the top of the bleachers.
Oh yeah, just in the fifty yards. That's what that
reminds me of a bit. So I don't like it.
And there's no commentators, it's just the camera in the
crowd o the crowd. Yes, yeah, it's fun. It's fun.
For a second. It'd be cool to put it up
as a if you had and I guess I could

(50:56):
do it on my screens upstairs. Have three screens beside
each other. It'd be cool to put it up beside
the real one.

Speaker 6 (51:01):
Okay, but to watch it.

Speaker 1 (51:02):
By itself, I don't have it. I need to be stimulated. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (51:06):
I just like the options. Like if that's the way
the way you want to watch a game. Cool, you
have an option to watch that game.

Speaker 6 (51:10):
He watches it like that, you look boys.

Speaker 4 (51:12):
No, I mean it's it's an option. So sometimes like
you see lsu Ole miss and like you just click
on a box and it ends up being that one.
And then you realize after five minutes of watching and
you're like, there's no commentary on this.

Speaker 5 (51:25):
Weird.

Speaker 1 (51:26):
What do you think of Dan Lanning after they won
the game? Dude, Dan Lanning is he's different.

Speaker 4 (51:32):
Like the way he acted when they won that game,
which was awesome. I'll just say it was great and
it was cool to see him act like that. But
I've never seen a coach twitch and almost it was
almost like this is gonna sound weird, but it's almost
like he killed someone and he's on for rush of
like he just killed someone and his eye was twitching
and he was out of breath and he really he's

(51:53):
he just didn't even know how to talk to the
reporter because he was so freaking excited that they won
that game. I've never seen a coach do that.

Speaker 1 (51:59):
Did you watch the Charlie Sheen documentary. No, It's like
when Charlie Sheen was doing all that crack. There's a
whole part of the second episode and it's the part
that we remember most when he was like winning and
yes all and he was like he was do tory.
His getting pumped up and being so excited is like
Charlie Sheen on crack.

Speaker 6 (52:20):
So it's a healthy version.

Speaker 1 (52:21):
You did notice that, I mean he was just oh yeah,
I mean he is an intense guy. Intense, so it's
a bit of the intensity. He's pretty high strung anyway,
and probably even when it's yeah and almost like a
cathartic release, all happening at once.

Speaker 6 (52:36):
Yeah, he's awesome, though, Yeah, he's awesome. He takes jabs
all the time. No, I know you're not saying anything bad.
I'm just saying that guy is he's awesome. The jab
which the white out? Did you see that? Yeah, where
he's like, oh, it wasn't really like they use it
as an effect, but like it didn't really affect.

Speaker 1 (52:49):
Us, didn't really affect us. Yeah, I love it. Yeah,
and Organ's in the white That's what I was.

Speaker 6 (52:55):
Okay, first thing I thought of I turned the game.
Mom was like, why is Organ in the white on
a Penn State white out?

Speaker 1 (53:00):
So I thought the same thing. Interesting, And what I
thought was it's confusing to see all the white. If
all your team's white, it would be like do you
remember when I said if you wore camouflage jerseys? Yeah,
And somebody dm me and said Boise State did that
with blue on blue turf where they had one of
their guys lay on the ground and you didn't see
them and he jumped up and caught a ball. So

(53:21):
I thought, it's like a yeah, and that's what I thought, Like,
could you do camouflage jersey helmet? But I think it's
like a reverse like all white and then if you're
in white, it looks like you can't differentiate your players
from the crowd at times. I don't know that that's true.

Speaker 4 (53:40):
Do you all know how they pick the colors?

Speaker 1 (53:42):
Like is it, well, that's that's their main color, white
and white and blue blue color blind?

Speaker 4 (53:48):
But like Oregon like so like if they're coming to town,
they have to be white with the a white team, Okay,
they always have to be white, got it? Cool jerseys though, though,
ide they must have like ten altern it more than
like it's amazing.

Speaker 1 (54:03):
Yeah, yeah, I'm ninety nine percent show the away team
is always white. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (54:09):
I think they have to have like their main color
has to.

Speaker 1 (54:11):
Be okay, and that's.

Speaker 6 (54:14):
That's that's college.

Speaker 1 (54:15):
Yeah. Yeah, Dan Lanning's awesome. I saw fanshow Hey you
still still text? You text him? All? No, but I
will r. Dude, you got a text him right now? Yeah? Yes,
I don't text him orly every But what should I say?

Speaker 6 (54:31):
Hey? Are you going crack?

Speaker 1 (54:34):
Anything's you're crazy? I'm gonna say you had me pumped
last night. It's nice, it's.

Speaker 4 (54:43):
Good, it's not too crazy, perfectly normal text. Oh you're
still typing though, I'm not just gonna leave one sentence
what else he's saying. I'll tell you I got a
sign it though, because I don't know that he has
my number, and I mean, yea out of who knows
you're going Bobby Bobby Bonebby bones me who I am?

Speaker 1 (55:02):
But we text?

Speaker 6 (55:03):
But you had you had a whole package for you
last year.

Speaker 1 (55:06):
No, I know we text, but it could be one
of those that you had, Like scroll up if you
didn't say my number, it's just a number. I said.
You had me pump last night. Such an intense game
way Gress coaches.

Speaker 4 (55:15):
That's perfect, perfecte and over here like dude, and I
wouldn't know how to do it.

Speaker 1 (55:22):
You're my hero. I love you. Here's a selfie of me.
That's funny. We're at the end of the Ryder Cup
as we record this. Yeah, is it? I don't even

(55:42):
because we had a check cup. You don't know. I
don't understand. The scoring system is weird if you don't
know it.

Speaker 6 (55:47):
It's the halves are what confuses me.

Speaker 4 (55:49):
I half is just tie, the tie, okay, and then
all the different games, the foursomes and the swinging and
the no no, that's a different thing, all the different
games they players. So so we had to get to
fourteen and a half. They only had to get to
fourteen because they have it.

Speaker 1 (56:04):
But it looks like it could be over. Let me
take it.

Speaker 6 (56:07):
Look, okay, you're defeat you fifteen to thirteen.

Speaker 1 (56:10):
Oh wow, we made a run in singles today. We
made a run. But that is so intense.

Speaker 4 (56:16):
Yeah, it all the yelling, is that a normal thing?

Speaker 1 (56:21):
Ish?

Speaker 4 (56:22):
Like like because when's the last time?

Speaker 1 (56:24):
It's always rowdy and it's every every other round and
it's every two years, so it's been four years since
we've played here.

Speaker 4 (56:31):
And so it's fair game. You're there, you can. I
even saw like the one of the MC's had to
like step down because.

Speaker 1 (56:36):
He Heather McDonald or what's the name of Mike, the
comedian heathern McMahon, She was like she was like f
roryro f you at the crowd. I did see that.

Speaker 6 (56:46):
I saw cops were like getting involved too. Is that
because of the.

Speaker 1 (56:49):
Crowd the crowd was out of control?

Speaker 6 (56:51):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (56:51):
And Trump was there for one of the days. Oh,
I did see that.

Speaker 6 (56:54):
In the bolt he.

Speaker 1 (56:55):
Walked he walked Bryson out. So it's I don't think
it's as cool as some people do because it's not
like a real it's not like a major. But some
people love it, and I get I mean I'm not
I'm not just anybody cheerio cheerios. I think it's awesome.
But to me, I didn't watch like a little bit
of it. I'd rather watch football. Yeah, I watched it

(57:15):
on Thursday. And we love golf.

Speaker 4 (57:18):
We love watching golf. Yeah, but once football season starts, golf.

Speaker 6 (57:21):
Yeah, it's like but some people do root like it's
the Olympics or something.

Speaker 1 (57:25):
Yeah, it's cool, but it's a big deal. I mean
it really is a big deal because then they argue
who's going to be the captain? Is a captain going
to play? Who's gonna be on the team? And Kegan, Yeah,
and he was good enough to play, and he still
chose not to.

Speaker 4 (57:38):
He just walked around a little uh, walkie talkie. Uh,
it's cool, pretty awesome. He was all over the place too.
He'd go to like one green and then walk to
another green.

Speaker 1 (57:46):
And that's how I was playing against Eddie.

Speaker 6 (57:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (57:48):
Those New York fans like I do something good like yeah, few,
I don't know. We did our tournament. All I would say,
that's the water, yes, exactly, water just in case.

Speaker 4 (57:58):
Well, because you can't really see, so I had to
tell he was in the water exactly.

Speaker 1 (58:03):
Oh that was nice, dude. Kevin's put together as top
five most overhyped quarterbacks in college football come the end
of the year this year, yes, okay, number five.

Speaker 6 (58:13):
Number five is Leonora Sellers from South Carolina.

Speaker 1 (58:17):
Can I say that he's been hurt?

Speaker 6 (58:19):
Well, that's part of the reason, though.

Speaker 1 (58:21):
Can you be overhyped if you're injured because the hypair
you didn't even have a chance to get to the hype.

Speaker 6 (58:25):
But the injuries go back to last year too. He
was injured last year. So part of the overhype is
how can you be so hyped in number one pick
if you can't even say on the field.

Speaker 1 (58:36):
I think that's a good argument.

Speaker 6 (58:37):
If there's like three seasons of that, so he's got
one more to go.

Speaker 1 (58:41):
I think he goes pro anyway, but I do, yeah, yeah,
I think he has all the tools. I think he
probably goes pro. I guess if he has a further
disappointing season with more injuries. The reason I guess he
could stay as they do get paid a lot, and
three years ago, three to infinity years ago, he's gone. Yeah,

(59:03):
but yeah, there's a chance. I guess there's a chance
he stays.

Speaker 6 (59:06):
It depends how their year goes to I feel like
they've already lost a.

Speaker 1 (59:09):
Couple of games. Lamar, Seller's the number five. You're using injuries, okay.

Speaker 6 (59:13):
And then number four it should maybe be higher, people think,
but arts Manning.

Speaker 1 (59:18):
Oh, I don't know how to say number one. That
should be one. But it's your list and thank you guys,
thank you whatever.

Speaker 6 (59:25):
But the reason it's not number one is because it's
kind of also the media's fault for hyping him.

Speaker 1 (59:31):
But that's who hypes is the media. Yes, yeah, but
media does all the hyping.

Speaker 6 (59:36):
But it's not like he's out here like, oh, I'm
the best, I'm this, I'm that like everyone's saying, oh
he's so good. Texas people are saying oh my gosh.
You see this guy in camp, like, and then he
goes out in places it's like, well, he never really played.
Now it's like, oh, well he never really played before,
so that's probably why he's not doing so well. It's like, well, then,
why did you have all this hype?

Speaker 1 (59:52):
I feel like the media is who hypes. But hey,
your list, Hey man, you do your list?

Speaker 6 (59:57):
Thanks guys, Number three three Drew Now this guy Penn State,
they just can't get it. James Franklin's right there with him,
but they easily could have come back won that game.
They had their chances. And what does he do? Throw
another pick?

Speaker 1 (01:00:10):
He looks again, good quarterback though he looks twelve though
without his face like, I think he's actually a kid.
I think he's one of those Disney movies. Yeah, he
looks and we're getting older, but man, he looks like
a child.

Speaker 6 (01:00:23):
Yeah, and he has sometimes he just looks scared back there. Yeah,
and I'm like, I don't know that's gonna last in
the NFL, all right?

Speaker 1 (01:00:28):
Number two number two.

Speaker 6 (01:00:29):
Garrett Nessmeyer over at LSU talked about him a little
bit l ruggling, and I liked him the most, probably
coming in I was like, this kid is gonna be good.
LSU's offense is going to be good.

Speaker 1 (01:00:40):
And on Netflix and he give him Saturday. Yes, we
let him hype us up to think he was going
to be awesome.

Speaker 6 (01:00:44):
Yes, he's come back.

Speaker 4 (01:00:45):
Right, So Netflix also hypes up not just the media, Yes,
that's part of the media though, that's streaming service.

Speaker 1 (01:00:53):
That is media, digital media, digital media.

Speaker 6 (01:00:57):
Number one Cade club Nick Rick Clemson, like this one.

Speaker 1 (01:01:02):
Bad, bad, bad. He had a really good game in
a loss at Austin last year in the College Football Playoff. Yeah,
and they lost. That was the first round of the CFP, right.

Speaker 6 (01:01:13):
I think second second round.

Speaker 1 (01:01:14):
Yeah, and he looked good in that loss, and he
was highly recruited, so everybody thought it's time. But yeah, no,
it's been It's.

Speaker 6 (01:01:21):
Been real bad, really bad.

Speaker 1 (01:01:23):
It's been real bad for the whole.

Speaker 6 (01:01:24):
Team, for the coach, and they have talent. Everyone's talking
about how good their team was this year, and then
it's if your quarterback was that hyped and then he
can't even get it done and it's like, okay, you
know who.

Speaker 1 (01:01:34):
It sucks for Oklahoma because they have a really great season,
they're undefeated, and their quarterback material goes out, had to
have hand surgery. Now he may only be gone two games,
and he was out. He was out this week, Bye week,
next week, Okahan place kent State week after that though,
they play Texas. Oh yeah, is that not throwing hand. No,

(01:01:55):
it's throwing hand. It's throwing hand. So he may be
back for the game after Texas, prout for Oklahoma South Carolina.

Speaker 6 (01:02:04):
Yeah, then'll miss then Tennessee then oh yeah, oh my gosh,
he's got to come back.

Speaker 1 (01:02:09):
Yeah. The SEC is it's a nightmare forever rud, especially
when you're one of the bad teams, because all the
teams are good. Like, if you're one of the bad teams,
there are no other bad teams. If you're Arkansas Kentucky,
there are no Arkansas or Kentucky's to play because you're them.

Speaker 6 (01:02:24):
Yeah if tough.

Speaker 1 (01:02:26):
Yeah, that's why the teams that are the worst always
have the hardest schedules because they can't play themselves. We're
a team like Georgia. They have a hard schedule, but
they also get to play the bad teams. They get
to play Arkansas and Kentucky.

Speaker 6 (01:02:37):
Yeah, or Vanderbilt is not one of those teams anymore.

Speaker 1 (01:02:39):
Not anymore ne Dississippi State one.

Speaker 6 (01:02:42):
Yeah they should Yeah, what a game.

Speaker 4 (01:02:44):
Yeah, that was another overtime legit.

Speaker 1 (01:02:46):
Yeah, yes, what a game. Uh and that was a
double overtime if I'm correct.

Speaker 6 (01:02:53):
I know it was overtime.

Speaker 4 (01:02:55):
Oh yeah it was double because I think it was
they were going for the two.

Speaker 1 (01:02:57):
Yeah, and they missed the two. I didn't make a
note on that, but I'm pretty sure it was double overtime.

Speaker 4 (01:03:01):
And I think there were five overtime just one.

Speaker 6 (01:03:03):
Overtime, Are you sure?

Speaker 1 (01:03:04):
Yep? No.

Speaker 6 (01:03:08):
I think they were just going for the touchdown because
Tennessee scored first a touchdown because it say, isn't overtime.
Tennessee had seven they had zero.

Speaker 4 (01:03:15):
Well, one of them was going for the two. Oh
maybe it might have been Floridastate, but it.

Speaker 6 (01:03:19):
Was on the goal, like they were close. They were
like on the two or three yard line. I'm bling
there's a lot overtime.

Speaker 4 (01:03:26):
I'm blurring five overtime games this week.

Speaker 1 (01:03:28):
Yeah. And whenever the Eagles blocked that punt at the
very first of the game, oh my god, I was like,
here we go again. I know, like the last two
plays they had were blocks. They'll go block pump block.
Let me make sure I didn't miss anything. That seemed
to be pretty good on notes, and if anything else
crazy happens for tonight, we'll just throw up an end

(01:03:48):
after our end, like tomorrow. A few minutes. We can
do like five minutes and we'll be like, oh, can
you believe the Cowboys? Ioy was won. It was crazy. Wow.
They had eight onside kicks in a row covered them.
If we have nothing after this, it was just a
normal night. I don't like the double Monday night game.

Speaker 6 (01:04:10):
I hate that.

Speaker 1 (01:04:10):
No, that's this week, right, yeah, I hate it. Yeah.
I also forgot there was a Ireland game this week.
I woke up normal time obviously, didn't turn anything on
because I knew I had football all day, so I
was just like, gonna have breakfast with my wife. Nothing,
And I just clicked to make sure none of my
fantasy guys were out, and I saw that I was

(01:04:31):
playing Kenny Gainwell and he had like twenty points already. Yeah,
and I'm like, was there a game last night? I
was like, oh, they played in Europe. Yeah, yeah, I
missed the whole game. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:04:41):
My wife doesn't like those morning games because she's just
like I went to bed hearing football, and now I'm
waking up to football.

Speaker 1 (01:04:47):
That's right, you have it in your room?

Speaker 4 (01:04:50):
Yeah, well in the morning ones I turned on as
soon as I wake up. I just set it on
the TV in my room and she's like, what are
you watching? You're watching highlights? Nope, they're playing in Ireland
back on. Yeah, okay, I think that's it. Anybody else
have anything else?

Speaker 1 (01:05:04):
No?

Speaker 6 (01:05:04):
Postseason baseball is coming this week too.

Speaker 1 (01:05:06):
Yeah. Cobs and Padres is how they play, I think,
so I should look at that. I'm almost positive it is.
It just rolled off, Mike, Would you look at that?

Speaker 6 (01:05:17):
Sounded very confident.

Speaker 1 (01:05:18):
I did well, then I then I regressed.

Speaker 6 (01:05:21):
Just backtrack real quick.

Speaker 1 (01:05:23):
You're correct?

Speaker 4 (01:05:24):
Okay, then I yeah, this is when I start watching baseball. Yes,
not just the first innings of baseball games.

Speaker 1 (01:05:30):
See if you had your bet? Yeah? Yeah, all right,
that's it. So I guess uh, we're gonna go. We'll
be back later on this week. Thanks to Brandon Marcelo
for being on with us. What's crazy being an arkanestas fan.
All all the fans are going to be like, let's
get Nick Saban and it's like, guys, you think we're
complaining about not having enough nil and you think we're

(01:05:52):
gonna get Nick Saban or John Gruden. Also, I don't
think I really want John Gruden. I think that's a
splash higher, that's not really a long term solution. Yeah.
And if Gruden wins this lawsuit against the NFL, he
will be back coaching in the NFL again, which I
think is really what he wants to do. Yeah. So
all right, that's what's up. Thank you guys for being here.
Jimmy Johnson come back. I don't think so.

Speaker 6 (01:06:14):
I'm Landry Ma Lou Holts.

Speaker 1 (01:06:16):
He was at the Arkansas Games. Was how old is
Lou Holtz? I'm glad you asked that. Just looked it up.
One hundred and seven at checks. Yeah, really old, really old.
All Right, we'll see you guys. Bye Ready, thank you.
