It's a podcast called twenty five Wistuck and they whist
so yeah, it's too bet but what did you expect.
It's a podcast call twenty five Whistles Wine Wheel, presented
by a DraftKings sports book and official sports betting partner
of the NFL. Download the DraftKings app and use the
(00:25):
code Bobby's Sports to get in on the action. Big show.
ESPN's Dan Graziano will be joining us. Uh, lots of injuries,
lots of injuries. Everybody hurt. I'm even a little hurt.
I didn't playing the game last week here, but hurt. Yeah,
I'm hurt in every way. But I'm my butt hurts
and I'm butter, which are two different things, all completely
(00:46):
So glad you guys are here. Let's start off with
the tittle tattle into the whistle. Oh crap, I'm so
fired up to get into the show. Go ahead. Oh
my god, that's the word. Somebody's just broken. Oh that
was Mike. It wasn't me, man, that's so much to say.
I was ready to go. I've I've broken, apologize. Okay,
here we go. Time stupid name ever the tone. Let's
(01:07):
get up.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
With a full slate of some great games this weekend.
Which one are you looking forward to the most.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
Well, let's rattle off some finally pretty cool matchups that'll
be interesting. See where the teams kind of fall in.
Ohio State and Notre Dame play pretty good. I put
that on the interest skill at about uh if ten's
the highest, about a seven. Yeah, it's pretty good. Okay,
at both of those teams. Yeah, Ohio State, let's sell
dominant they are. On Notre Dame, Let's see if they
are as good as we think they might be. They
finally have a good quarterback. Let's see what's up Florida State
(01:39):
of Clemson. I'm gonna put this at about a seven
point five. Florida State could be real good, Clemson could
be bad. Or if Clemson beats Florida State, the whole
world's screwed up and we don't know what's it. We
don't know our top from or bottom. Because Clemson wins, well,
no they suck, remember, And if Florida State loses, no, no, no,
they're good. Davey della. So that game, to me is
(02:00):
the world gonna stay in the order we already have
it in. So I'll put that at a seven point
five Colorado at Oregon six. My expectations aren't high for
this game. Really, Colorado's best player's gone. Oregon is a
twenty point favorite. I would like to see Colorado win,
that would be awesome, but I don't have a high
(02:21):
expectation that they will right now. So I'm gonna put
that out about a six Utah Ucla. I mean, let's
see what you ta is about. Let's see them boys
are what we think them boys might be. But I'm
still gonna put that only to seven as well.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
They're still going to back up it's underwell yeah though, yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
So my answer was I don't know because the last
time I saw that, they weren't saying, oh miss Alabama.
Now little sec homersm here. But I'm gonna go eight, dang,
because same thing is Alabama Clemson and for the last
two years we've heard our Sabans runs over it's all
now Kirby Smartville. So if Alabama is able to beat
(03:05):
Old Miss, which it's in Tuscaloosa, and I think they're
a touchdown favorite as of right now, which by the way,
is not a lot considering they're in Tuscalosa, because four
of those points is just for home, so they're basically
a three point favorite neutral site. That's crazy.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Did you see what lan Keivinson I'm about the defensive coordinator.
He thinks that they bench basically their defense coordinator. They
have another one doing it based on his film that
he's watched that Saban the first defensive coordinator, took them
out and now they have a new one, but they
haven't like officially made it official.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Is this like a shadow president.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
I don't know if it's Kifvin just playing mind games
or what, but I love it.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
I'm gonna put that at an eight because if Alabama
loses again, it's trouble. Yeah, it's tough. If all Miss
beats Alabama, that's a big changing of the guard. Opens
up that West. If Alabama loses, it opens up the
SEC West big time. So I'm gonna do that's an eight.
Excited about that game. But ten Arkansas ill SU. That
(04:03):
wasn't really a fair one to answer a little bit.
It's Homer Homer, Yeah, yeah, But I think Ole Miss,
Alabama and Florida State Clemson are the ones that I'm
looking forward to the most. Eddie, what about you?
Speaker 3 (04:15):
Notre Dame Ohio State. I really want to see what's
going on there. I mean, I like Notre Dame. I
think the first couple of games I watched and I'm like, man,
these guys really have what they need to become a
playoff team. And I don't know about a quarterback. Quarterback.
They got a good running game too, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
I mean tired of the Notre Dame just gets hyped
up so much, and I think this is the year
that it's actually gonna be It's gonna be legit. So
Texas too, maybe yeah, I mean, both those schools get
a lot of hype, but both those schools actually could
be really good this year. But then every year we
think both those schools could actually be really good, and
then they they're not. Right. But the reason I'm believing
in a little more today is because Eddie has his
(04:53):
glove on his podcast club always always in.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
The Colorado game is interesting because, I mean it's early now,
so we don't have to stay up to midnight to watch it,
which is cool.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
And who's gonna go to the game? Man?
Speaker 3 (05:02):
What kind of celebrities are gonna have? That part's cool?
I mean, is Oregon ready for that?
Speaker 2 (05:07):
Whether it's at Oregon Oh.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
Yeah, So you're saying all the celebrities are gonna come
of course, Yeah, you're right, probably to Oregon just to
watch Colorado.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
Yeah. I mean that campus is in itself fundamentally you
were there. Yeah, I'm just saying, like, really nice.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
All right.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Next question, all right, speaking of those big games, which
quarterback do you expect to have the biggest game out
of those?
Speaker 1 (05:26):
Again, Sam Hardman, Notre Dame seems interesting. If he does,
his little bearded face comes out. You said the thing
where he's calling cool hair too, where he's calling the sign.
He's calling like the plays, but he's like to like
whack off things, but his hands. No, I didn't see that. Yeah,
it's like maybe he's milking. Maybe he's milking. He wasn't milking,
but that was okay. Even then. Those otters are far apart,
but they're very singular.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
He laughs when he doesn't.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
Uh, you know, I kind of expect bo Nicks to
make his Heisman moment, have his little statement game here
at Oregon. I'd like to see Colorado win, but I
think bo Nicks, which, by the way, all these Auburn
folks who were just hating Bonnicks get out of Auburn,
get out of Auburn, and now he's gonna be a
late first round or second round pick. He's also in
(06:12):
Heisman talks. Yeah, good for him. So, yeah, I'm gonna go.
I think Hartman probably has a big game, but I
think bo Nix has the biggest. I'm gonna go Boenicks
on that one. You ready, which quarterback do you think
has the biggest game this week? Hartman?
Speaker 3 (06:27):
But then kJ Jefferson Arkansas. Of course, of course he's
gonna have a great game this week.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
All right, Going to the NFL here, if the Jets
and Vikings both continue to struggle, would you like to
see the Jets pursue a trade for Kirk Cousins be awesome?
Speaker 1 (06:40):
We talked in a few minutes about that. Yes, I
like to see Jets do anything. It's fun. I like
the soap opera. I'm not a Jets fan, but I
like to see the soap opera. I think Matthew Stafford
the Jets will be awesome. His contract'd be tough to
do that with, but Stafford with the Jets will be
super cool. You know, the Rams don't want to win.
The coaching staff does, but you know they want to
they want a quarterback next year. Stafford's off the guy.
(07:02):
He's old. He's slinging it.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Man, I don't understand what they've got Bennett right there, Like,
Bennett's off the team here.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
He's off the team right now.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
They kicked him out. Uh football unrelated issues. Oh Stetson,
he got high? Well I can't. It can't just be
high because I think a lot of people get high. Yeah,
I know, but I.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
Remember his post his interview Good Morning America the next day,
like it was just nice.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
He's drunk after the but.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
He's had some issues in the past.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Really Yeah, yes, that hurts my feelings. But I don't
know that. You give him the whole team and they
probably they want one of these quarterbacks. Who's the first
round guy? They want Caleb Williams, Michael Pennix junior, they
want Phoenix sorry Penix, Yeah, the Phoenix. Okay, I'm looking
at the Jets. Next week's Patriots. They can win that.
(07:49):
They can win that without a quarterback because the Patriots
are basically the Jets.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
To me, you don't think so, no, no, no, they can't. Well,
you know, the Patriots have won what fourteen?
Speaker 1 (07:58):
Can the Patriots to me. Now are the Jets what
they're about that level? They're in that same category of
how good is this team?
Speaker 2 (08:04):
Mac Jones or Zach Wilson.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
That's not the point. And the Patriots have a really
good defense. But the Jets have a better defense. Yeah,
but the Patriots have Belichick. It's a big difference. They
got a coach who knows what's up. What's the I'm
not a believer in what's his name? What's the line
on that game? Do you have any idea?
Speaker 2 (08:21):
I believe it's Patriots minus two less myself.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
And it is in New York, Yes, two and a half. Now, okay,
I don't care. I'm done. I'd like to see Cousins
with the Jets. I'd like to see Stafford. I'd like
to I mean the most pump be Baker. Baker's good man.
Let him go to New York, Bakers having fun the
(08:46):
media market. Let's go Baker Mayfield. I'm a big Baker guy.
Love Baker, big Baker guy.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
All right, Next up, what of these zero and two
teams do you have the most confidence in getting their
first win this weekend? We just talked about it. Patriots
at the Jets Bronco's at the Dolphins or the Chargers
at the Vikings, who are both owing to the Broncos.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
Russ sucks. They're gonna bench him if he plays bad,
and they're just gonna eat the money. He sucks. I'm
gonna say this again. He saw it's it's it's crazy
because he was so good. I was rooting for him.
It's hard to watch, ye, I don't know what's harder
to watch him or having to watch a Cleveland game
(09:28):
and watch Deshaun Watson who now sucks. Yeah, and he
had all off season and you know last year, I
get it. He had got suspended for the first eight
ten games whatever it was. So yeah, maybe he suspend
him more, but he had the all off season started
with winter camp. He sucks. So it ain't the Broncos Chargers,
(09:53):
I don't get there. They should be really good and
they're like Herbert's the man, he's the great quarterbacks and
sliced Bread Claspecker never play quarterback? What number was he? Then?
Speaker 3 (10:01):
Stupid and so and let's get a better comparison. Slices bread,
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
He didn't have to Jersey. How do you so it's
like the Chargers haven't put it together. But the Vikings
are Vikings are garbage too. We thought they were gonna
be good because they won every game by a penny
last week, last year, last year. Yeah, I'm gonna go
with the What I'm going with the Patriots? Yeah, because listen,
(10:29):
when the Patriots played the Eagles, they played pretty good. Yeah,
they did play pretty good. They've had some tough They've
had tough games and it turned the ball over. Man.
They've had tough games, and I do like Mac Jones. Yeah,
so I'm gonna go with the Patriots. I think they
went I think I think the Chargers could win. I
just don't trust them. And the Broncos are going to
get annihilated by the Dolphins. If to it doesn't have
a head injury, that's every week for two he doesn't
(10:50):
have a head injury. If all right, that's tittle Tattle.
The Tittle Tattle twenty five Whistle is presented by Draft
King sportsbook and official sports betting partner of the NFL.
Download the Draft Kings app and use the code Bobby
sports to get in on the action. Hey, we're moving
on to this week. We're forgetting that party last week
and I don't even remember it. What's even a parlay?
(11:12):
Somebody to teach me that that is again, so I
can it's multiple bets and road that amplify the bet
total when they all hit. I was really cool to
hit it nice. Well, let's just say a little sum
I put together. Come on, look, get my app open.
I don't even know what the odds are, So if
you guys could plug it in for me, because I
didn't want to look at that. I just wanted to
pick the games that my heart took me to without
(11:32):
knowing what the odds were. Okay, let's go yep, So
here's my three game parlay college football pulling it up? Ready?
Oh you minus fourteen and a half at Cincinnati. I
saw your eyes get big there ready? No, I was
just looking for it, Okay, got it? Florida after a
(11:57):
big win over Tennessee, Florida twenty eight versus Charlotte. Charlotte
has a football team. News to me, Yeah, I think
they're green. Hey, and I don't know that from the
logo on DraftKings. Are they playing the Hornets? I don't know.
So I got ou minus fourteen and a half Cincinnati
Florida minus twenty eight versus Charlotte. And this is my
(12:21):
underdog that I put on here, Western Kentucky plus three
and a half at Troy. Let's go. Let's go hill Toppers.
And you may say, well, they got they got beat
big time last week. Into that, I would say, we've
moved on. That was last week exactly, and it was
Ohio State and they played really competitively until kind of
it just kind of got out of hand. Yeah, after
(12:41):
you texted me, Yeah, I said, Eddie, how's it going,
He goes, Oh, it's going to go. Should turn it on.
They're doing really great. Turn on to game over, like
next play. Yeah, they got So Eddie with those.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
Three Hilltoppers plus three and a half, you say, yes, sir,
with those three how mean how much you want to
put on it?
Speaker 1 (12:56):
One hundred bucks?
Speaker 3 (12:58):
For one hundred dollars you will get eight hundred and
sixty five go smiles and seventy nine little smiles.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
Oh my god, I just squired. He squirty. Probably won't
be doing that much.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
My favorite part about Eddie doing this bet right now
is he takes off his glove to place this because.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
I can't type. Yeah, there's no on the phone. The
only way I would do that. It's not a betting glove.
I never right, I'm gonna put mine in here. Then
all right, my bets. I have enough money for that. Wait,
you don't, don't do a hundred, don't put twenty, don't
do it. Tell me what twenty is when you get it, dude,
twenty is good. Yeah, twenty is one hundred and thirty nine.
(13:37):
All right, And how I see it is if I
hit one out of three of these, that's money made.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
Dude, you want to know what ten dollars is. That's
what I just did sixty nine smiles, baby.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
But you know what I'm saying, Like all in my mind,
I'm not gonna hit every one of these. I'd like to,
but it's a parlay. So it's multiple bets. If I
can hit one out of three, that's I said. That's
a winning that's why thing one out of three meaning
three weeks.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
Oh okay, they meant break it to you how it works.
It's like that doesn't win anything.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
They didn't tell you. That's a great point. That is
not what I meant. Okay, oh you minus fourteen and
a half okay, boom add more. We look at each other.
You can tell me, Okay, now we're gonna go down
to Western Kentucky plus three and a half Florida minus
twenty eight at Charlotte. Never heard of them? All right,
(14:31):
let's do three picked parley one hundred pay eight eighty
six sixty nine. Nice boom done, Let's make some smile. Yeah, okay, yes.
If you want take twenty five bustles parlay, you can
check out Draft King Sports Book. New users use the
code Bobby Sports and you download the app twenty one
and up them most eligible states, but age varies by jurisdiction.
(14:52):
Eligibility into positive restrictions supply gambling problem called one hundred
gambler in New York called eight seven seven eight Hope
and why or text ope and y four six seven
three nine Show notes for full de tales. Let's go
over to our interview here, very excited love ESPN mostly,
(15:13):
I mean he does it all. He does fantasy football,
he does just straight up NFL. Here's our guy, Dan Graziano, Hey, Dan, Yeah,
he appreciate you calling.
Speaker 4 (15:22):
It's Bobby, Hi, Bobby, how you doing?
Speaker 1 (15:24):
Hey? Really good? So I got a lot of questions.
People are hitting me up. I don't know the answers,
but you are the experts. So let me start with
this first. Saquon Barkley out supposedly three weeks. Is this
the old injury prone Saquon or do we feel like
he's going to bounce back and actually be a part
of that Giant's offense like he has been last year
and early this year.
Speaker 4 (15:42):
Yeah, I mean it's a sprained ankle. It's not a
high ankle sprain, So that's good, right. They feel like
he can recover in a few weeks. So, and I
know he's determined to get back out there, and you
saw the frustration on his face. But it's unfortunate for
a player that's missed so much time because that's the
first place people's minds will go, especially.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
Him being in a contract year again, you know, he
didn't sign with the you know when the team wanted
to sign him to and so they signed a deal
for like a little more than whatever, like eleven million
bucks or so. And so he's also trying to show
everybody how valuable he is as a running back. So
is there a shot a guy like this will come
back a little early? And heard it even worse because
he's trying to prove that.
Speaker 4 (16:18):
I doubt it. I mean, look big picture, like he
wants to play, Like he signed that deal and they
only really threw him an extra you know, like nine
hundred thousand and incentives, which if he misses three games
he's probably not going to get to anyway. So I
think it'll be about you know, he'll want to come
back and play. He wanted to get to training camp.
That's why he took that deal, so it's important to
him to be around his teammates and be somebody that
(16:39):
can count on. So he'll push to play. But I
think the Giants will make sure that they're careful with him.
You know, you bring it back too soon. All of
a sudden, you're missing, you know, ten weeks instead of three.
That's not where they want to be.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
I want to stay on injuries for a second. And
we start to hear, nowd Aaron Rodgers could possibly come back,
you know, near near New Year's with the new version
of the SURGI on that Achilles. Is that even a possibility?
Speaker 4 (17:03):
Yeah? My understanding is possibility, pretty remote possibility, which I
think is how it's being presented. But I think it's
probably helpful for the Jets to have it in mind
right as a possibility. It gives them probably some energy
going forward and some reason to hope. So I think
it's a good strategic play by Aaron Rodgers if nothing else,
(17:25):
and who knows. I mean, yeah, we did see Cam
Akers the running back from the Rams come back after
I think five and a half months a couple of
years ago from the Achilles, So yeah, it's not out
of the question, but I do think it's a fairly
remote possibility.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
So when it comes to the Jets and their quarterback situation,
and so far they have not made a move, and
they're saying they're not going to make a move, They're
going to keep Zach Wilson. I mean, is there a
shot that they would attempt a Kirk Cousins type deal
with Cousins with Minnesota maybe wanting to get out of
that big contract and wanted to move on anyway, I
think there's a.
Speaker 4 (17:57):
Chance, But it's just too early, right, I mean, you
said they haven't made a move yet. There aren't really
moves to make. There aren't a lot of teams lined
up right now like dying to trade you their quarterbacks.
Like it's a rare commodity, And just because the Vikings
are going two doesn't mean they're ready to give up
on the season. Now, you know, you go in other months,
you get into October, closer to the trade deadline, and
(18:19):
maybe if they're still losing and they go to Kirk
Cousins and say, hey, you know you're not in our
plans for next year. Would you like us to trade
you somewhere where you might be able to make the
playoffs win the super Bowl? Then I think it becomes realistic.
But I just think we're way way too early for
those kinds of discussions to be going on. And the
Jets know that, and that's the big reason that they've
(18:40):
thrown all their support behind Zach Wilson. They know in
the short term at least, that he's really the best
and probably the only option they have.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
The calf on Joe Burrow this week again it's acting
up or maybe it's been hurting again. Said much about
it after the injury, and camp like, is it time
to start worrying about Burrow? He does tradition start pretty
terribly every single year. Is this normal or is you
feel like this could be something more?
Speaker 4 (19:05):
I feel like it could be something more like he's
never really had a training camp. He got drafted in
twenty twenty, which was the COVID year. In twenty one
he was coming back off of an A scale repair.
In twenty two he had appendicitis early in camp, missed
Olives Camp, and he needed to build back strength. And
then this year he missed Olives camp with the calf injury.
The problem is it wasn't just it's been acting up.
(19:27):
He actually pulled it again on Sunday on that last
play that they ran. So the question is how serious
is it and is he going to even be able
to play foot? And then also, even if he can
play through it, what's theri of re injury or something
more serious as a result. So they've got away all this,
so I think it's worse than the typical slow start.
(19:47):
You know, they talked about all we row in two
last year and we were fine, Yeah, great, quarterback was healthy.
And if the quarterback's not healthy, then I think that
changes the calculus. Especially the first two games they lost
both the and teams that they're competing with. I just
think if he's gonna be dealing with this all year,
even if he doesn't have to miss games. If it's
(20:08):
something he's gonna have to deal with all year, that
puts them in a really bad spot.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
Uh. Staying again on injuries, Cooper Cup, do you think
he'll be ready week five or is that just best
case scenario.
Speaker 4 (20:17):
I think there's a chance. I mean, I think it
was with the hamstring injury and then he sat out
several weeks of camp and then came back and then
he heard it again. They want to be super careful
and make sure that whatever they did last time isn't repeated.
But you know, they got to get through the first
four weeks first and see how he's feeling before they
can make any real conclusions about that. They got the
new guy. They got Pooka Nakoula catching you know, ten
(20:41):
twelve balls a week, just like Cooper Cup did. So
I guess maybe they're not in a rush.
Speaker 1 (20:45):
Baker Maysfield, how do we feel about him down in Tampa.
Speaker 4 (20:47):
I think it's great what he's doing. Look, I mean,
he's he's definitely been a successful quarterback in the league.
Before we know he won a playoff game a few
years back with the Browns against the Steelers. Like throwing
to Mike Evans and Chris who are high level wide receivers.
I mean, if they can keep him protected, there's no
reason to think he can't play well enough. And if
(21:08):
he does, then he becomes, you know, probably continues his
career as maybe a starting option for some teams going forward.
So early in the season, their next five games are
against really tough opponents, so we'll know more about him
and the Buccaneers. I think in about a month month and.
Speaker 1 (21:23):
A half, do you think Baker could be one of
the guys that Jets go after if Tampa bombs out.
Speaker 4 (21:27):
I think it's possible. You have to consider all options.
Like you're living in a world where it struggling, which
a lot of people I think expect will happen, and
then you're living in a world where the Bucks want
to trade their quarterback they're two to zero. Like you know,
it's a lot that would have to happen to get
to that situation. But I do think if the Jets
are looking at some point in October to replace Zach
Wilson and effectively replace Aaron Rodgers for this year, then
(21:50):
they have to look at all options. And I think
any kind of veteran who's had success in the League
would appeal to them, So yeah, I wouldn't rule that out.
But again, the Tampa is gonna have to start losing
and and right now they're not.
Speaker 1 (22:01):
So you're from New Jersey, you've covered New York sports
for most of your career. How close is New York?
It can be the Jets of the Giants. I don't
care to get into a Super Bowl. Again, who's the closest?
Speaker 4 (22:12):
I mean, look at two weeks ago, I would have
said the Jets because of Rogers. But I think at
this point you probably would still say them if you're
expecting Rogers to come back and play next year, which
I think a lot of people are. But they have
that defense that's really playing at a high level. They
have stars, star young players on offense. I think they
still have the better core. I do like the Giants
(22:34):
head coach a lot. I think he's going to continue
to get the most out of that team, but I
think personnel wise, at some key positions, they still need
a little bit more work on the roster. The next
offseason or two.
Speaker 1 (22:45):
You mentioned day ball. Do you feel like Josh Allen
not having day ball in Buffalo is the reason maybe
we're seeing such an inconsistent Josh Allen.
Speaker 4 (22:53):
You know, I'm hesitant to say that because they replaced
day Ball with Ken Dorsey, who had been the quarterbacks
coach and had a close relationship with Josh Allen the
previous three years, so you would think it would be
a seamless transition. But I think we've learned that day
Ball's really good and it's possible. You know, he's just
the kind of coach that knows how to you know,
(23:14):
exactly which buttons to press and when how to get
the most out of this guys. And maybe maybe it's
the fact of having the two of them day Ball
and Dorsey was really beneficial to Allen and having to
go with only one has been a bigger adjustment than
we thought. I mean, Josh Allen, the Bill still had
a very good year last year. I think there's a
perception obviously that you know, he turned the bill, not
(23:35):
a perception he did turn the ball over too much,
especially in the red zone. They have to work that out.
Dorsey in his second year as an offensive coordinator, presumably
he'll developed in the role and get better. But look,
I think it's a theory that probably has more merit
than I initially gave it.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
Credit for we were talking about all that you do
and all that you've done, meaning you come from a
background where you major in English and government, and you've
written two different novels that aren't sport, so now here
you are covering sports. So to have all of these
skills and to learn all of these things, like how
did you end up settling into sports and going I
(24:09):
think this is what I'm going to do. Well.
Speaker 4 (24:11):
I loved writing, so I loved writing, and I loved sports,
and I was not a very good athlete, so like
I think, you know, I really did a lot of
reading about sports when I was a teenager, and I
loved to write about it whenever I had an English
class assignment, and it was like, you know, write a paper,
you know, topic of your choosing. It was almost always
sports related. So that that's really how I got into it.
(24:35):
And you know, the novels were something like I just
sort of always wanted to do and was able to
do it when I finally got some free time to
you know, before my kids were born. Uh. But yeah,
really it started with a love of writing and a
love of sports and the notion that it could be
done together. To make a career, which really was planted
in me by an English teacher I had in high
(24:55):
school who thought, yeah, I mean look, he pointed out
people that do it for a living, like you know,
like Mike Lupica and people like that that make a
living writing sports, and it became realistic. I didn't imagine TV.
I didn't really imagine NFL. I thought I was a
baseball fan. I thought I'd do baseball, But it has
taken me a lot of pretty cool and fun places,
There's no doubt about that.
Speaker 1 (25:17):
Was that a call that you got from ESPN going, hey,
we want to hire you here and we're going to
figure out what to do with you. Like, what was
that call?
Speaker 4 (25:24):
No? No, First of all, I was the one calling
ESPN like for years, so I was trying. Here's what happened.
I was covering baseball at the Newark Star Ledger and
then they, you know, the newspaper industry unfortunately kind of
you know, cratered, and they, you know, they did a
whole mass buyout at the Ledger, and I took the buyout.
And then I got hired by AOL Sports. AOL FanHouse
(25:49):
was hiring writers, and they hired me to cover football
because that's the opening they had, and I had done
a little bit early in my career when I was
in Florida. So I did that for two years. They
blew that project up, and by then I had made
some ends at ESPN. I had done some on air,
you know, freelance on air stuff for them, So I
was able to meet with some people who were in
hiring positions, and they knew I did baseball, they knew
(26:09):
I did football. They wanted to bring me in. The
first opportunity was an NFC East blogger job. We used
to have a blog for every one of the eight
NFL divisions. They hired me to cover the NFC East
and then eventually when they went to the thirty two
team model, they put me on Giants. But they started
using me on TV more and more. We did a
show once upon a time called NFL Insiders. There was
(26:32):
a weekday afternoon show where they used a lot of
us who were reporters. I think that was kind of
my big TV break there, But yeah, it built on that.
But basically I had to beg them to hire me
for a few years and then they finally did, and
and you know, I feel like I've tried to make
the most of it.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
Well, yeah, you're killing it. I'm a big fan of
your work. Final question, I'll ask then, do AFC in
NFC Championship game right now? Unfairly pick who'll be in
both both sides of the bracket there?
Speaker 4 (26:58):
Oh man? How about in the NFC? Based on what
it's looked like so far, I would say it would
be Cowboys and forty nine ers in the NFC. And
then in the AFC. You know, you always have to
take the Chiefs. They've been in it. I think what
seven straight years so or five straight whatever? The Chiefs,
And then I would have said the Bengals, but I'm worried.
(27:20):
I'm worried about that cast. So give me the Chiefs
and the Ravens.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
Hot take, Wow, hot take wow Wow. All right, there
is love his work, Dan Graziano follow you got hot taked? Yeah,
you got hot take there at Dan Graziano ESPN on Twitter. Hey,
thank you so much and love your work and can't
wait to talk to you again sometime. Dan.
Speaker 4 (27:43):

(28:30):
Super Bowl odds right now. This is if you were
going to place a future you get one team. Who
do you bet to win the whole thing? Try to
leave your home, ro out the door already? How can
I do that? If I truly believe that they are
my number one? Say pick the Dallas Cowboys are winning
the Super Bowl? They are third overall? Right now? Really
in the odds? Yeah, forty nine ers over them? Who
(28:53):
else you thinks over them? Forty nine ers? And probably
I'll go defending champs Chiefs. Yeah, yeah, fot nine ers
at one plus six fifty, Chiefs plus seven hundred, and
the Eagles and Cowboys same division, both plus seven fifty,
the Bills of plus one thousand, the Dolphins at plus
thirteen hundred, and the Ravens of plus fourteen hundred. The
(29:16):
one that I kind of liked there because all those
teams are great, right, And I put a five hundred
dollar future on the Cowboys to make like eight thousand
bucks or something or six thousand bucks, and our love
it so. But I just did this. I could so
you'd like me more to Mike cow with Steve and
Eddie and on my Cowboys fans. Yeah, because in Mike obviously,
but it's like I want you to like me more.
So I'd made that bet not true.
Speaker 2 (29:36):
You don't want to do the Patriots.
Speaker 1 (29:38):
That's gonna be a lot of money. Well, I like
the Ravens a lot. It's just that Lamar Jackson gets
hurt every season at some point, so it's a plus
fourteen hundred. I like those odds if he stayed healthy.
I like those odds for the Ravens. Again, that doesn't
mean I think they're gonna win it for sure. It
just means with those odds, that's that' It feels like
(30:01):
at plus fourteen hundred you could really do some damn Okay,
we go, here, we go. I want to bet it
and see what happens. Oh do you know what happens
to your money goes down? Oh how about that? Well
look at that, Well that's what happens, all right. Futures
Baltimore Ravens plus fourteen hundred. If I put fifty bucks,
that's seven fifty mm. I like that. I'm gonna do
(30:21):
two hundred fifty bucks. Nice for thirty seven fifty. I
think boom done. All right, I got my second future
on the Ravens at plus fourteen hundred. If the Ravens
were plus seve hundred and win to bet them. So
it's not that I think they're gonna win win. I
just like the odds. Yeah, yeah, Kevin, what do you like?
Speaker 2 (30:40):
I like the Niners? What are they? What are those
odds again? Plus sixtremety that's an easy one.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
I guess, Yeah, that one. Them and the Chiefs. I mean,
they could be the super Bowl. I don't know. I'm
the Brock Party has to do so little. Yeah, because
he has so many weapons.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
And I'm also I mean the Dolphins look great too,
and they'll get Jalien Ramsey back at some point, but
if he gets hurt. Two of that is that's hard
to replace. The Niners can replace. I feel like Rock
Party probably not got to a super Bowl, but at
least make a good R.
Speaker 1 (31:04):
I don't know. I think Sam Donald's good as Rock Party.
Speaker 2 (31:06):
Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 1 (31:07):
I think Rock Party is just on a rookie contract
and they can still develop him to what they Sam
Donald's good.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
Yeah, if they plugged him in, I bet they wouldn't
really skip a beat.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
Cream Hunt is going back to the Browns. We saw Chubb.
It sucked. I feel a little more sad about it
today than I did the day after. Really, well, a
day after I was like, ah, my fantasy team. I
hate everybody who cares about humans. I only care about
fantasy him. But now it just kind of sucks because
he was a pretty well white guy. Yeah that's brutal man.
And then I get the way for Wire. Didn't world
(31:36):
work out for me? I moved all my life. I
got to be a better GM.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
You didn't get anybody?
Speaker 1 (31:41):
Yeah I got, but no, not not Kareem Hunt? Are
not Ford first? Right now? I didn't get Ford anywhere.
Yeah that's funny because that was the hot one. I
couldn't get him. I tried. I couldn't get him at all.
But yeah, cream Hunt's going back. But Chubb was my
first round pick on both my teams. Bye bye, just
like that, bye bye. And you think what I was
(32:03):
thinking about yesterday.
Speaker 3 (32:04):
I was like driving to pick up the kids or something,
and I was like, man, this dude carries the ball
hundreds of times, thousands of times, and just a weird
step with a tackle that's just odd.
Speaker 1 (32:16):
Makes your leg do that, and it's it. That's it.
Speaker 3 (32:20):
And actually that's why I was driving to my kids
football practice, and I thought about that as a dad,
you know what I mean? Deep, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
Mann, you know, you know Kevin went to my son's
football game. I did not know that. Yeah, yeah, last
week he showed up. Do you know his son?
Speaker 2 (32:39):
Yeah, coach coaching basketball last year?
Speaker 1 (32:42):
He said, did they know you were coming? Were you invited?
All these are factors. If it's creepy or night, that's
a good question. Go ahead, Kevin.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
No, Eddie told me the son was playing football, and
I said, let me know when there's a game this
year and I can come. So last week I asked
him what times a game? And he told me, like perfect,
that's good that he show up at truch code anything.
Speaker 1 (32:58):
We're all was nothing like that. Yeah, Edie, all right,
let's go to the lock of the week. Boy, Yeah yeah, yeah,
So right now in the hole read and Kevin or
ten bucks in the hole? Yeah, Eddie and I are
no money in the hole. No, no, we're in the
running for making money. And as long as you are
the you have the correct answer, you don't pay any money.
Speaker 3 (33:21):
Lock of the week, Eddie, let's go. We're just talking
about the Browns. Let's go with the Tennessee Titans over
the Browns. And they're sitting at plus three right now,
the Titans plus three. Oh, that's a good one. So
give me the Titans plus three. It's so good that
I'm afraid of it. You're so right, it's just so wrong.
Speaker 1 (33:39):
I don't like when you say that.
Speaker 3 (33:40):
It's like when you watch you know, Monday night football
or something, and they all picked the Cowboys, Yeah, and
you're like, no one person.
Speaker 1 (33:46):
Picked the other team plays? Okay, Eddie's is the Titans? Kevin?
Speaker 2 (33:51):
Can I ask you a question? Yeah, because you watched
the game last week and obviously Arkansas and BYU is
BYU pretty good. I haven't seen him play yet.
Speaker 1 (33:58):
They played like a Sam Houston State or one of
those teams that barely beat them.
Speaker 3 (34:01):
Like the week before. Well, Sam Houston State's really good.
And I don't think it was Sam Houston State.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
It was one of those Texas schools like that that
living at Boston. Maybe yeah, probably it's one of those
Texas schools. About somebody that's from Texas that did Texan thing.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
You know, because they're plus eight and a half against
Kansas and I really like that, but I have not
seen them play yet.
Speaker 1 (34:19):
Hey, look solid against Arkansas, I know. And have you
seen Kansas play yeah, their quarterbacks good.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
They're a really good quarterback. So that being said, all
this to say, my guy, Michael Penix Junior, Washington minus
twenty one, let's go lock it up.
Speaker 1 (34:35):
Are we are we committing to call them penis? He's
the one who call that, So yours wasn't a joke?
And I said, wach to call them the penis?
Speaker 2 (34:41):
Yeah yeah, so yeah, so yours is Washington Washington minus
twenty one.
Speaker 1 (34:46):
Read Miami Dolphins minus six against the Broncos. It's like,
I don't know. The Dolphins are good. They are good
what I've heard they are good. What do you mean
you watch? You watch them at all?
Speaker 4 (35:01):
No?
Speaker 1 (35:01):
I haven't you have you watched any football, doll. I've
watched the Broncos last time they played, and that that
told me that they're not pretty good. And also, you
know you told you have said this. They're they're terrible.
I mean, he's falling his heart, which means they can
probably win this week. They're terrible. I was looking at
the UCF game. They're they're they're playing Kansas State, but
(35:22):
I gotta pull for Kansas State because we're going over there.
I can't even look at the game. But ucfs a
five point dog. That's hard. That's like both of your
son's playing.
Speaker 2 (35:32):
We had that last week too, bandy, and.
Speaker 1 (35:36):
We haven't done that though, way haven't. Yeah, I know
I haven't known Kansas State either. But I'm gonna go
completely off the map here, and I'm gonna go Arkansas
plus seventeen and a half off the map. Why not?
You're locking it up? Lock it up, haad lot from
(35:56):
the key combination lot.
Speaker 2 (35:59):
So what's.
Speaker 1 (36:01):
The safe all right? I think that's pretty close to
We're gonna play a game here in a second. The
big drama though in our fantasy or excuse me, our
w r NBA two K league, you wanna hear the drama. Yeah.
So it's just like a very close group of friends
of ours. Do you play?
Speaker 2 (36:20):
Ok No, I don't have any consoles.
Speaker 1 (36:22):
You should so read plays, Eddie plays. I play, and
you don't have to really play. Check. You have a whole,
like month, month and a half to play your season,
and then you kind of get together for the playoffs
and you organize it. But there are a little games
you play against them, maybe one time a month. Mike,
you won't play in our league. I don't have five well,
(36:42):
so we all pick our teams because the new game
came and everybody's picking their teams, and one of the
guys picks the Mavericks. We're playing. What's the year we
started at ninety? We played? We started in the nineties. Yeah,
nt it starts in the nineties, so it's all the
real players and every year like no, like Lebron's coming
out in the next class, So it's gotta be later
(37:03):
than that.
Speaker 3 (37:03):
No, I'm saying when we started it was in the nineties.
Oh god, And now I think we're in two thousand
and one, got it? So we're at two thousand and
one or so.
Speaker 1 (37:11):
And so we got on this new game because two
K twenty four came out and everybody's picking their teams,
and so I picked the Nets because they had Jason
Kidd and he's like, a ninety three? What do you
mean you guys picked your teams? How did you do that?
I just said, who wants what? Go for it? Two
texts literally said who wants what?
Speaker 4 (37:26):
Go for it?
Speaker 1 (37:27):
Call it? And so Steve got the Spurs. I mean, dude,
this is two thousand and one massive spurs. He's got,
He's got Old David Robinson, a young young Tim Duncan.
That's right, it's so okay, cool cool cool. Andrew gets
the Suns. Charles Barkley is still playing. He is yep.
Is he old there?
Speaker 2 (37:46):
Really?
Speaker 4 (37:46):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (37:46):
Yeah, he's barely he's last year. I think I took
the nets again because they got Jason Kidd at ninety three.
That did. Kim Bin Mutumbo is like thirty, so he's
a little older. He's like a eighty five carry Kittles
who's in the eighties.
Speaker 2 (37:58):
Solid.
Speaker 1 (37:58):
So I took the net because I and I love
that pieces to trade, so I like to get rid
of I've tried every draft pick for the next five years.
By the way, I have nothing. I've been trying to
build up Reid you take. I got the Kings. Chris
Webber nice.
Speaker 2 (38:11):
That's my favorite team back in the day.
Speaker 1 (38:15):
I just love that.
Speaker 3 (38:16):
Jason Williams was awesome just and you were California. So
that's interesting down here is like the Spurs were like
on the rise.
Speaker 1 (38:22):
Our buddy Mike signs two weeks ago picks the Mavericks.
They're they're a really good team. They have Dirk and
Steve Nash and it's like great. But he never downloads
the game, never downloads the game. I invite him, can't download,
can't even invite him because he's still disconnected. Won't download
the game. The game has been available for two weeks now,
then yeah, won't download the game. He's in our last
leag won't download the game. So I'm like, Eddie, you
(38:44):
gonna get in the league, and he's like yeah. So
Eddie finally downloads the game. He's next to last download
the game. And let let me add this too.
Speaker 3 (38:50):
As far as the text goes, months ago, like maybe
eight months ago, it was just buzzing all day.
Speaker 1 (38:57):
These guys just boom boom texts all day.
Speaker 3 (39:01):
So I was like, I gotta mute these guys. I
muted the text thread. So as far as everyone committing,
I don't know anything about this, but.
Speaker 1 (39:07):
He also everybody committed like two weeks ago. But our
friend Mike sin Steel hasn't downloaded the game. And so
I get on and I got my everbody signed up
with the team. We're already play a little bit of
season and Eddie finally gets on. It shows me that
Eddie's on and he has he selected the Mavericks. So
I downloaded the game. I get on. There's an invite
(39:30):
from Bobby join the league. I click it.
Speaker 3 (39:32):
It says pick your team and there's locks all over teams. Oh,
can't pick them, can't pick them. Guess what's unlocked? The Mavericks.
So I click it and that's his team. So I say,
it looks like Eddie picked the Mavericks. Signs did call
him two weeks ago. But side still doesn't have the game.
It hasn't even been in the league. He's had all
this time to do it.
Speaker 1 (39:50):
It's nothing. I said, well, I guess Eddie gets the
team because Signs you slept. He said, you want to know,
but you never got in the league. And he's like, well,
I'm out of the league. Then I said, how can
you get out of what you're not even in? Never
even got in. Yeah, so he's quitting. Probably, So I
guess the Eddie. I think you have the rights to
that team because after like a week of him not
(40:10):
getting in. But do you want to keep the team
or keep him or keep him in the league. I
think I'm keeping the Mavericks. Okay, fair enough, read where
do you fall on this? I would say keep the Mavericks.
At at that race, you know, it's who wants it more.
You know, he didn't want it very bad, right, he
didn't want it very bad.
Speaker 3 (40:31):
It's like you call a shotgun, right, and everyone's already
in the car waiting, Like, dude, listen, we're already here.
You called it five minutes ago. You're not even close
to the car. I'm taking shotgun. Yeah, you called it,
but then the car is already moving. Yeah, I mean
everybody's gone.
Speaker 1 (40:46):
You yelled shotgun, but we're already it's the store, right,
I'm taking it now. You can't get mad at somebody
else got in the front seat when the car was leaving.
Speaker 2 (40:53):
Yeah, that's on him. He's a grown man.
Speaker 1 (40:55):
So he'll have to get either get a different team
or just quit. And he said, I'm friends. He said
he was gonna quit, but we need another player in
our league if anybody wants to be in our NBA
two K league.
Speaker 2 (41:04):
Yeah, man, yeah, I'm not gonna buy it.
Speaker 1 (41:06):
Had like some drama that I know, right, Yeah, it's
it's a small town drama.
Speaker 2 (41:10):
You're gonna steal my team?
Speaker 1 (41:11):
Ready? I want to come on. You were just on
my side. I wanted the Mavericks. But when Signs called him,
I was like, you know, I want to stay off
because I love derk Nash is awesome. But then after
a week, I was like, what can I get them now?
But Edie ended up getting them.
Speaker 2 (41:23):
Yeah, it's him, okay.
Speaker 1 (41:24):
And the Lakers were out right, no one can get
the Lakers. That was the rule. You can't get the Lakers.
They have Kobe and Shack and they're both like ninety
seven ninety eight and d Fish and in the nineties
we couldn't get We couldn't get Jordan and Pippen. We
left that team to them.
Speaker 2 (41:36):
What is going back to the Kings in what are
they rated at?
Speaker 1 (41:39):
They had a bunch of eighties, kid, They had a
bunch of eighties guys.
Speaker 2 (41:41):
Okay, yeah, it's pretty stacked with eighties and Doug Christie
and all them twos.
Speaker 1 (41:44):
In the nineties. I got one nineties guy, Jason Kidd,
and then I traded every draft pick. I've got like
one draft pick from two thousand and three, but I
traded like the next seven years every pick and I have.
I don't have any more ninety guys, but I got
Jason Kidd, I got Wally's Rbiak Okay, who shoots threes?
Speaker 4 (41:58):
I got.
Speaker 1 (41:59):
Yeah, I traded three for shrinders for yeaming God, that's
gonna be so hard to be. Maybe I traded four
first rounders for what is he ranked in that like
eighty two? But he's so young. Oh okay, yeah, so
he's not really good yet, but I think he will be.
I have Jason I traded uh for. I traded kittles
in a first rounder for Jason Williams white chocolate.
Speaker 2 (42:19):
Well that's what. Yeah, he was my favorite player.
Speaker 1 (42:21):
He's like a eighty three. So I got like two
point guards and they're both like confuses like Kyrie and
uh Luca. Now who gets the ball? Nice?
Speaker 2 (42:28):
So you have Richard Jefferson.
Speaker 1 (42:30):
He was good. Yeah, traded him a little old. You're
gonna miss him.
Speaker 4 (42:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (42:34):
I did trade Jefferson. No dang traded to kembe Mutumbo
traded Jefferson kill.
Speaker 3 (42:39):
Maybe I'll start trading people for insanity. That'll be in
a few years.
Speaker 1 (42:45):
You get to live insanity for a brief period, for
seventeen games or whatever. Yeah, Okay, thank you guys. Okay, here,
I'm gonna pitch this over to us playing a game.
Here we go. Here's the game. Eddie Kevin read if
you want to play, have a cea. You can play
the game too. Do we need pens? Papers? What do
we need? Yeah, you will need to write it down.
(43:08):
So Power five conferences, right, so Power five would be
this isn't part of the game, but let's walk through it.
So no one calls anything shady. There's PAC twelve, there's
Big ten, there's Big twelve, there's SEC, and there's those guys.
(43:29):
So those are the Power five schools. So I'm gonna
give you, guys three minutes. I need you to name
every Power five school in football. Whoa No, No, that's
not the thing. Okay's like, oh man, that doesn't have
a city or stayed in their name. Three minutes starts.
Now I'll and I'll kind of read it again. Yeah,
(43:50):
I'm probably not gonna play this one. There are nine.
If you get six, I give you twenty bucks.
Speaker 2 (43:58):
It doesn't have the city or in their name.
Speaker 1 (44:00):
Name every Power five school in football read you should play?
Do you know any No, not a clue. It doesn't
have a city or state in their name. Now, the
original game was sixty seconds, but I felt like that
wasn't enough time. Yeah, because we'th thirty Now Reid's looking
(44:30):
over Atty's shoulder trying to get a couple. Did you
cheat much in high school?
Speaker 4 (44:37):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (44:38):
A little bit. Yeah. Were you a good student? Oh yeah,
I was pretty good. I I just I just wanted
to like make videos and make music and stuff all
the time, so I didn't real like Thisugh, that's what
you do. That's what you do now. Yeah. Yeah, just
having a sidebar with Reed as you guys are trying
to figure this out. Yeah, basically, yeah, Matt, math and
(44:58):
math was not my thing. Good stuff, man, stuff. We're
at one minute and fifteen seconds. Name every Power five
school in football that doesn't have a city or state
in their name. There are nine. There are nine. I
have six? Wow? Really yeah, dude, that's really good. At
(45:19):
ninety seconds, if you have six, it's really good. Okay,
how much money I said? I give you one hundred bucks?
No twenty, Eddie owes me eighty. Anyway, Still Sophie wanted
them just taking it out of him. No, I'm just
gonna buy her one lunch. Don't worry about it. Oh man,
(45:40):
I've hit a wall. I've hit a wall. Yeah, we
can call time early if you guys want. No, No, no,
no no, no, no, no, no, no no no. We
are now at two minutes. Did you have your UCF
shirt on there? Yeah? I do that. That one went
down to you. You have to do too much access.
(46:01):
I love it. Undefeated still huh they haven't lost a game,
have they? You see it? No? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, I'm
out of ideas. Thirty second, name every Power five school
in football that doesn't have a city or stayed in
their name.
Speaker 2 (46:19):
Another one.
Speaker 1 (46:20):
Ooh, I'm not five. You know what I did, and
I'll wait till it's over before you gets up the pool.
All right, let's call it time. Everybody's hands up. I
just started to go to the conference and try to
go each division type stuff. It's still I struggled.
Speaker 2 (46:38):
I was in my head. I was bouncing around from
conference conference. I don't know why I was doing that.
Speaker 1 (46:41):
Okay, let's go, Eddie, give me one. Clemson. No, that's
a town South Carolina. But never heard of that town.
Speaker 3 (46:49):
Yeah, it's literally a place on my list since South Carolina. Yeah, dang, Okay,
I thought it was some dude's name.
Speaker 1 (46:55):
I'm ninety nine percent positive you make me second guess it? Mike,
will you search these for fact check? Double check it.
It is a city in South Carol. Thank you? I
thought so. Okay, so you both missed that one. Yeah, okay,
Kevin Duke correct, that's one, Eddie? Did you have Duke?
I have Duke? Okay, one to one. Okay, that's the
only one he has. Actually, okay, that's one. Eddie, gimme Vanderbilt.
(47:20):
Oh correct, nice, sir ready, sir b yu. Do you
have that one? Eddie? Kevin? Bring him now now in
the big twelve. So they're oh yeah, baby Darkansas, They're
okay Eddie wake Forest? Correct? Nice? Dude? Do you have
(47:42):
whake Forest?
Speaker 4 (47:43):
No?
Speaker 1 (47:43):
Okay, who you didn't have?
Speaker 2 (47:44):
Stanford?
Speaker 1 (47:46):
Correct? Got it? Oh, Eddie and Stanford.
Speaker 2 (47:49):
Eddie takes the lead.
Speaker 1 (47:50):
I got it. But I thought that was a city.
So Kevin, back to you, because you're down one, I said, Syracuse.
Speaker 2 (47:57):
But that's the city too, isn't it?
Speaker 1 (47:58):
It is Scuse, New York. Yeah, you're done.
Speaker 2 (48:01):
I'm done.
Speaker 1 (48:01):
So who are the ones you had?
Speaker 2 (48:04):
I had Duke by you and Stanford?
Speaker 1 (48:05):
You got three?
Speaker 2 (48:06):
Yeah, and I had Clemson and Syracuse with those are all?
Speaker 1 (48:08):
Yeah, Eddie? And so who have you got right so far?
I have Vanderbilt, wake Forest, Duke and Stanford. Okay, and
how many more do you have before you read them all? One? Two?
I have two for sure, one questionable, So you have
three left. Give me the questionable one Notre Damn Are
they part of a No, they're independent in football. And
I did say football five in football it's so dumb. Yes,
so Notre Dame wouldn't have been right, but that was questionable.
(48:29):
You have these other two you're for sure about? Go ahead, Perdue, correct, yes, sir,
good at this game? And one more Rutgers correct dam Wow,
And that's it. That's all. That's all she wrote. That's awesome.
Great job. So now you only want to meet six
(48:51):
great Rutgers, Duke, wake Forest, Perdue, Northwestern Western Chicago. Obviously
you have Stanford, Vanderbilt, b YU and in Texas Baylor Baylor.
Oh yeah, dang, dang, dang. That was cool. That was
a fun game.
Speaker 4 (49:11):
Man.
Speaker 1 (49:11):
I like that one. Thanks, that was fun.
Speaker 2 (49:12):
That was good.
Speaker 1 (49:13):
Racked the old brainer. Hey Eddie know we have this week?
Oh yeah, we have an eliminator. Do you want to
look at the games a real quick? I looked at him,
and oh man.
Speaker 2 (49:21):
You guys got the Cowboys last week, right, we did.
Speaker 1 (49:23):
Yeah, we can't use the Cowboys again. So here we
go for the eliminator. Okay, Eddie. Here are the games
that we have? Well, I mean there's a lot of
games I can give. Did you look at the games?
Speaker 4 (49:35):
I did?
Speaker 1 (49:35):
So we have the Chiefs available right? Yeah? When is
this here? Friday? Okay, So we couldn't have picked the
last game? Huh? We couldn't picked the forty nine ers.
Yeah you can. Okay, forty nine ers if you do that,
this had already aired, and who knows, if we won,
we could do that. But forty nine ers or ten
point favorites over the Giants I like that. Okay, what
did you have? Baltimore eight over Indianapolis? But we have
(50:01):
picked Baltimore. I guess what happened with We've picked Baltimore. Huh?
We have what happened to richardson concussion? They said, but
right now there's still no indication as we're recording this.
The other big spreads are Buffalo minus six and a
half at Washington. Not a lot of faith in Buffalo,
(50:21):
Seattle minus five and a half versus Carolina. I like that,
that's pretty good. Kansas City versus the Bears, twelve and
a half. I like that a lot. I already have
Dallas Philly minus five and a half at Tampa. Hey,
don't bet against Baker? I know, well, are we to
do that all season? Though?
Speaker 3 (50:39):
What if we survived and we got to bet against
Baker at some point, then we just lose? We no submission,
we know we don't submit anything. Yeah, so what do
you think, Eddie? What about Dolphins Broncos? Do you think
about that six and a half? Miami versus Denver in Miami?
I thought too much about that one, but I just
saw that one on the board.
Speaker 1 (50:59):
Which one are you leading towards? I do like so
some of the I feel like San Franco's is that
one's gonna win? But we also would like to keep
San Francisco if we feel equal about another game, right,
But if we just feel like it's the leader, let's
just go, let's not dick around, right. What would you say?
You said, Oh, Seahawks over Panthers. I like that one too.
Which one would you do? The biggest spreads are Kansas
(51:20):
City versus Chicago. We still have Kansa City left. We
wanted to use them in San Francisco and the Giants.
But we don't have Baltimore. We have Miami in Denver,
which is one we should consider. You like that one.
We have Jacksonville at Houston. Oh that's a good one too.
Jacksonville's minus nine and a half. They're in Houston, they
are at Jacksonville. Oh, but it's nine and a half
(51:42):
and Jacksonville's a good team. Buffalo, Washington, Seattle, Carolina. What
do you think? Man?
Speaker 3 (51:53):
I really I hadn't thought about the Jacksonville one, but
I kind of like that one, big spread nine and
a half.
Speaker 1 (52:00):
Let's go with that.
Speaker 3 (52:00):
Let's go with that because I don't I like spending
spending on Jacksonville and not worrying about the future with them.
Speaker 1 (52:06):
Okay, so we're gonna pick Jacksonville. What do you guys
think about that? What do you think? Kevin? I like
that one? Which one do you have taken? Kevin?
Speaker 2 (52:12):
Either that one or the Seahawks? I were taking the
Seattle just I like to see the Seahawks one, especially
at home.
Speaker 3 (52:20):
You want to do that one? Then no, no, no, no,
we're good because I like that one too. I'm not
opposed to that one. But you picked Jacksonville. I think
we'll just stick with what you picked me. Yeah, but
why don't we agree on one?
Speaker 1 (52:33):
I agree that Jacksonville is one of the ones we
should Okay, guess too. And if I just say you
should pick that next day, let's do that one. Or
you can pick the last few games, and I picked
the one. Usual we've been doing it like that. Somebody goes,
here are the three games, and then the other person goes,
of these three that you like, I like this one,
and so we did the reverse that time. I picked
the games. Yeah, then you picked the Jaguars. That's good.
Let's stick. Let's stick with Jacksonville. Then, okay, did we
have it submitted? One step closer to one million dollars Jacks.
(52:55):
Let's go on. All right, that's it. I hope you
guys have a great weekend. I hope we get to
put up an episode of Too Much Access this weekend. No,
come on, yes, well not if everybody loses. I'm not
putting one up. So I have an Arkansas one ready
(53:16):
to go, which was it's a really good one. That
one's in the hopper yep. Well, and they're playing l
s U. I also we have a Western Kentucky one, Oh,
ready to go. They're a three point underdog. It's good.
How did you watch it?
Speaker 2 (53:32):
And it's a mask it's really really good.
Speaker 1 (53:37):
And then the other one is UNLV, which which is
what we're shooting this weekend. But the problem is if
they win and their only team, he's got to wrap
it at it fast on the plane. Yeah, well he'll
be in Vegas. We're all going to Vegas. But I
got rid a photo credential. That's how I got the
company pay for a hotel room. Was he has to what, dude,
(53:57):
you're going to be in the pit?
Speaker 2 (53:58):
I can't wait.
Speaker 1 (53:59):
Oh I don't know about that.
Speaker 3 (54:00):
Always with me, Oh oh, but I mean photo credentially,
you should go anywhere.
Speaker 1 (54:03):
And I'm saying, I'm like, I'm like, because they're always
like you need more pictures, and I'm like, I'm too busy.
I don't you have me doing eighty things. You want
me to take pictures of my But if I have,
I'm like, well, i'll have read so you can take
pictures and I can post on my feed as we're going.
That's how that's how we got it. You got tickets
and stuff, though not yet sucks for you. All right,
I'll take care of ud you got Kevin, I'll get.
Speaker 3 (54:21):
Him some photo pay I'll be I'll be in the
city though, Hey, Kevin's my photographer.
Speaker 1 (54:26):
These are all blurry, man, he's walking over with the polaroids,
all right. At twenty five whistles. Thank you guys. We
will see you next week. Whistle Thank you by everybody.
