Speaker 1 (00:01):
Best bits of the week with Morgan. It's Listener Q
and day time.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
We're Morgan in a show member answer almost all your questions.
Speaker 1 (00:09):
Listener Q and a time.
Speaker 3 (00:10):
But we're gonna start with some shout outs. I love
your scene. Her name is Steph from Wooddale, Illinois.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
Thanks Steph.
Speaker 3 (00:17):
Yeah, Tamra from Illinois. Just wanted to say how lovely
you two are and I appreciate you.
Speaker 1 (00:22):
Oh that was really sweet. What is Hamra? We appreciate you.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
Yes, it feels like it just got to like a
really nice soft voice.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
Uh, Delilah, Yes, it does. Thank you. Gosh, how did
we get his end? Just now? We did listen to
whatch Talk Girls. We always find us in moment every
now and again, we can she tell us more about
her role on the show and behind the scenes. This
is from Ashley.
Speaker 4 (00:45):
Oh this is a question. Oh my gosh, there's so
many things I feel like. Okay, so my day is
basically split up into two parts.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
Okay, so.
Speaker 4 (00:57):
You know, in the morning it's it's the live show
answering phones. I send out a rundown that kind of
summarizes what we talked about on the show. Different points,
like tell me something goods and all that that goes
to every station. I help fund tell me something goods.
There's another side deal that Amy and Bobby record. It's
(01:17):
called the Country Minute. It's like a minute of country
you know, news stories. I help turn in news stories
and TikTok. If there's anything like interesting videos or whatever,
I'll send that in. If we have artists prep If
we have an artist in, I'll put like a sheet
together that has like all like fun facts and their
tour dates and album info with like songwriters on it.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
What else do I do? I don't even know what
else I do?
Speaker 3 (01:46):
You do it all kind of ris together, send pride
that prizes out to listeners.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Yeah, you help. Don't you organize with the voicemails? Yes, voicemails? Yes,
I do that.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
You should.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
We get a lot of those.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
Facilitate just a lot of general not just like the
live calls with the Floyd Smells. You're also you're just
facilitating a lot of those that come in during the
main live show.
Speaker 4 (02:06):
Yes, like just kind of anything. Since everybody else is
in the studio talking during the show. If they need
an audio clip or something like loaded, I'll get it
ready and I'll send it to Kevin and Pitts who
are in the other room to help do that. So
I'm kind of just like a whatever needs to be
done in this moment, and can I be do it one?
Speaker 1 (02:23):
Errands? Sometimes I have to go get hot dogs when
you don't you too on my favorite part. Oh we're
gonna bring that up. I'm triggered too soon. Oh my gosh.
Yeah that's still too soon. Sorry, okay, not bad.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
But sometimes you run errands, Yeah, yes, I do run
besides the hot dogs.
Speaker 4 (02:45):
Huh, you'll run other errands yep. Make sure stuff is
in the prize closet. Yeah, send out the prizes, the
crap in the from the back that they win. But yeah,
I said, it's split up in two days because like
in the morning or two times of the day. In
the morning I do all the live show stuff, and
then the night before I get everything else prep for
the next day, if that makes sense, kind of like
(03:08):
the news stories and stuff we talk about.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
And you also help with the Natural podcast network. Yes,
I'll say, look at you knowing my schedule more than me.
I think that's why my brain is all over the
place because I have a whole list on my computer.
I have it by my keyboard of everything I need
to do every day, So I think that's kind of
just kind of run down the list. Yeah, and if
she mentions her brain in part one, we talk a
little bit about our brains.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
So yeah, Oh, I'm.
Speaker 4 (03:32):
Always a lot in there at all times. Yeah, I
hope with the podcast network, and I help prep some
Bobby Cast stuff and do special episodes for the Bobby Cast,
which is cool. And then Caroline Hobbies podcast I help
produce that.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
So yeah, a lot of stuff over there. I know,
it's a lot. It's fun.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
You're a hard worker and you're good at what you do. Dedicated.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
Yeah, you are, so that could have a role play.
And the brain all over the place. Mine does too.
I'm very lack of sleep right now. I'm running on
like five hours. Oh that's like me every day. Yeah here, yeah,
I look at us to go. We're doing good.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
It's fine.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
We are. Did you decide if you're doing the holiday
singing group this year?
Speaker 1 (04:16):
James in Virginia? Oh gosh, I.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
Did not decide yet, but we are getting down to
the wire. When do you have to decide?
Speaker 4 (04:25):
So they have been rehearsing on Sundays okay, and some
weeknights I do have the tracks like on my phone
that I can listen to and rehearse. It's just hard
because I got to decide when I'm going home. So
I used to, like when I was single, I would
go home the entire break, But now that I'm dating somebody,
(04:47):
I don't I'm probably not gonna be able to go
that long.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
So then I'll be in town for more things. Makes sense,
you know.
Speaker 4 (04:52):
Because a lot of them are like December leading up
to Christmas Day, and if i'm home that first week,
I'm missing that anyway.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
Yeah, So it's like trying to decide if it's worth
it to do it when there's not a lot that
you can do depending on when.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
You go home. Yes, I haven't decided yet. Okay, I'll
just about it if we do. But I'm kind of
like you.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
I'm like, I'm trying to I can't say yes to
everything because then I get very overwhelmed, and then I'm
not that you know, you can't be one hundred percent
If you're just like two scatterbrained and not focused, I'm
not gonna be able to add anything to them. So
I want to make sure I can be one hundred percent,
so I got to get my schedule figured out.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
Yeah, I completely understand.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
We're in a season of rest, trying to be anyway,
trying to have you all been on a double date
yet this is from Katie and Texas.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
Oh my gosh. Wait, we did get to see each
other at Post Malones.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
We had moments of passing, but we haven't quite accomplished
a double date. But yes, we were at Post Malones
at the same time. We had a moment where the
boyfriends met. It was very brief because Post Mallon's was chaotic.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
It was were just like sitting on barstools because we
had been up walking and I was like, let's just
sit here and eat or just relax because it was yes,
there were people everywhere really loud, and then you guys
walked in. We said hi, and then I never saw
you again.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
I never saw you again either. You were like, we're
gonna walk out and explore, and then I was gone
into the abyss. We didn't.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
We didn't end up staying for the concert itself because
it was insane on Broadway.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 4 (06:26):
Yeah, us trying to walk from the bar like into
the area and the like to see the concert. People
were like pushing it. It was getting into like a
bad situation and it.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
Really couldn't even get into get to where we were
supposed to be standing.
Speaker 3 (06:42):
And I was dead sober. I said, I do not
have it in me to survive this.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
Yeah, no, it's a lot.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
They were like, get metro down here now because people
were pushing, and I'm like, I'm not trying to cut
anybody in line. I'm not trying to block anyway. I'm
just trying to get through this entrance. And yeah, but
we didn't see each other again, but we need to.
Why have we not gone one?
Speaker 3 (07:04):
I'm just because like we were just both talking about
how chaotic both of our schedules are. I know, we
barely have to time in our own lives to like
do stuff for ourselves. Yeah, we really don't let alone
to make that happen, but we do need to. We
just need to put like something on the books. I know,
we do make it happen before the end of the year.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
Let's try. Okay, deal, We'll go to a Christmas bar
so it'll be very festive. Yes, let's that'd be fun.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
Okay, have you converted to a Packers fan yet from
Jill Blake in Tennessee.
Speaker 4 (07:34):
When when they're playing, I'll cheer for them. If Broncos
are playing, I will cheer for the Broncos. If they
play each other, I will cheer for the Broncos.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Are you a diehard Broncos fan?
Speaker 4 (07:43):
Yeah, like you're never going to give that up now
because it's kind of like a just a family tradition,
and it's also like a way for me to feel
close to my brother he passed away because he was
a huge Broncos fan, and I feel like he would
you know, he's looking down, would strike me if I'd
be mad if you touch teams, Yeah, he'd be like,
(08:03):
what are you doing? So No, I will always be
a Broncos fan kind of as a tribute to him.
But I'm not opposed to being a Packers fan. I
like cheering for them. Okay, they're really good.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
What about your boyfriend though, becoming a Broncos fan. He
cheers for them, but but like more which inside you
know how guys are, They're more like, no, this is
my team. There's no no chan team.
Speaker 4 (08:25):
No. If I buy him a Broncos shirt, he might
like wear one, but and I was like that with him.
I was like, you can buy him. I'm not gonna
buy a Packers thing. You can buy it for me
if you want me to wear it.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
That's how you make it all work. Yeah, that's kind
of how he was.
Speaker 4 (08:38):
He's like, if you want to buy me like Jayhawks
like Kansas stuff, then I'll wear it.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
So does he have college teams? Because you are a
diehard Jayhawks fan too.
Speaker 4 (08:46):
Yeah, he is Wisconsin, but then you went to San
Diego State for grad school.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
This Mays have a lot of teams. Is that grad
school or undergrad?
Speaker 3 (08:55):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (08:56):
My gosh, I don't even know. Yeah he does.
Speaker 4 (08:57):
Yeah, but he's mostly football, like pack that's his number one.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
Okay, that's the one that matters the most. The others
he just kind of keeps up with. But he likes
the Milwaukee Bucks, I think too. And okay, so everything Wisconsin,
yes he has. Yeah, he has his teams, but there's
a lot going on there. I know, like, how do
you have so many teams?
Speaker 3 (09:18):
You'd be like, okay, we can both like have shared
NFL teams, but like we got to consolidate the college sheets. Okay,
just one yep, Yes, And the Jayhawks it's basically that.
I mean, yeah, that one rules. You know that one definitely.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
No, Yeah, you jay Hawks are die hard, so yeah,
I know well versed basketball football. You guys are good.
We don't need the football. No, I just as hard
as being good. Oh that's funny. That was funny.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
Okay, we're gonna take a quick break and jump out
of here. I think that answered your question, don't yill.
We did talk about this a little bit in part one,
but I want to make sure to answer in case
you can't check both of them. But if you can,
I suggest going to listen to that. It's from Chris
in California. Have you put your house up for rent?
(10:09):
Are you now paying rent? And you can share as
much or as little as you want to?
Speaker 1 (10:15):
Please know that.
Speaker 4 (10:16):
Yeah, no, I it's not up for rent. And no,
I'm not paying rent for my boyfriend's tell.
Speaker 3 (10:23):
And you mentioned on part one that it's going to
be put up for yes, rent at some point.
Speaker 4 (10:27):
But yeah, I'm going through all my stuff. Like I said,
I don't know, I accumulated a lot in ten years
or the twelve years I've lived here, and I'm being
very strategic of what I want to keep and give
away and that's a process. Yeah, And I'm very like sentimental.
I like to hold onto things your order. Yes, that
was a very nice way order. Like that futon that
(10:51):
I talked about in the other part. That was the
first futon that I bought in Nashville. Like and so
I have memories that I was in my little apartment
just living on my own.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
Abby.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
You cannot be on the Hoarder Show one day. You
have got to work through this part. No, I'm not there.
I can walk like through my house. You can't a
little not confidently, if I'm being honest.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
I think that when it's a problem is when you
can't see your floors. It's a problem before that. Just
an FYI.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
I love being sentimental, and I think there's always things
you should have for keepsakes. But a futon, ma'am, that
is like, screams college.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
I'm dying. That's so ridiculous. The futon hat. It's a
table and chairs set chairs they got out of there.
We gotta, you know, find the things that are really
cannot be replaced. You can replace a futon.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
Yeah, it's gotta go. It's not very comfortable either, It's
really that yeah. Yeah, because it's never a college kid.
It's about to be in a college dormitory.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
It is. I should give it away.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
I should college kids around here.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
You totally get one. I would love to do that.
That's funny. I swear you're gonna end up on Hoarders.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
And I'm saying that very jokingly because I really don't
know what your house looks like. But I my family,
we have a lot of stuff, and I have made
an active decision as an adult to not keep a
lot of stuff.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
Oh yeah, you don't have anything.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
No, I'm very intentional about it either has a place,
or it leaves, or it gets donated or somebody gets it.
I'm very good also about making sure it gets reused
because I do not like throwing things away. So like,
I will find a home for it. It just cannot
be in my home. No things.
Speaker 1 (12:52):
That's oh my okay. So she's working on it.
Speaker 4 (12:55):
I'm working on it, so work in progress, working on
not being on Hoarders.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
I will die laughing in so much love, as we
say on the show. That's how I get on TV
and then lunchbuns. WI love that I go on Hoarders.
It's like ten years down the road. You pop up
on hoarders and I'm like, pull the clip. Pull the clip.
We talked about it all. You put it. You put
this into the universe. No, I'm putting into the universe
(13:24):
that you can get rid of it.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
Now.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
You know I've had the food on twelve years. Let's
just make it twenty.
Speaker 3 (13:30):
No that No, Abby does Abby run a turkey trot
for Thanksgiving?
Speaker 1 (13:38):
That's from Alyssa. Oh my gosh. I never do, and
I don't know why.
Speaker 4 (13:42):
Actually I do know why, because I like to sleep
in and races are usually like eight or seven thirty running.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
I do love running, don't really love like eating. It
really strike me as a turkey trot girl.
Speaker 1 (13:54):
I used to be.
Speaker 4 (13:54):
I was in high school. I got like a medal
for it too. My friend and Idana and I we
used to run the turkey trot.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
That's cool. I have the exact full opposite, you know
where they have those means where it's like, I hope
I don't marry into a family that does turkey trot Thanksgiving.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
That's me. I hope I never marry into that family.
You're not you would never do one.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
No, I'll walk on things giving. I love going on
a walk or like a hike or something. But you
may I just hate running.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
Yeah, I just hate early mornings for working on a
morning show. I am not a morning person.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
I feel you on that. I really did used to
be like dedicated to running, getting up and doing it
and doing Did you wear like a little turkey hat? Yeah? No,
that's what I have A picture is everybody who.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
Does a turkey trot has like one of the turkey
hats of the legs and they just run with the
turkey hat on.
Speaker 4 (14:43):
If I would do it now, i'd yeah, I would
definitely go all out. You gotta make it fun, you know.
You gotta do like a costume. I could do like
a one sie, a turkey onesie.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
See that's fun. Yeah, I could do that, but it
has to be after like eleven o'clock.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
I don't think those exist because most people are starting
to eat by that point, I know, lunch or dinner,
depending not where they fall. Yeah, okay, so no, And lastly,
we got a question for some help. So our listener
Krista has a friends like a friends Miss Christmas party
and she wants to know favorite things to take for that.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
In the twenty to thirty dollars range.
Speaker 4 (15:19):
Oh my gosh, I'm really bad at bringing things, like
coming up with creative things to bring.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
I know me too.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
I'm not a good present gift I'm very practical, Like
just how you heard us mentioning about like I don't
ever want to get somebody something that just sits in
their house, uh huh. I want them to use it,
or it's like a gift card that they'll use outside
somewhere and it doesn't take up a lot of space.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
I'm not a very practical gift giver.
Speaker 4 (15:45):
Oh man, I made a really good sweet potato casserole
with like marshmallows on top and cinnamon, Like I remember
that was really good and people really liked that. Okay, yeah,
so if you just look up you know, I'm sure
I just looked it up online. I remember I was like,
I want to make something like that.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
Food is a universal level language. You can always bring
food and people are happy. I have different diffs that
I love to bring. Raspberry black bean dip is one
of my favorite that's from Manhattan that I always remake
for parties.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
I also like will make a.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
Little treat bags with oriole balls or like homemade chex mix,
So you could do those, but I guess if it's
a gift giving to you week she said food, Oh
my god, I totally miss that and you're like, what
are you doing?
Speaker 1 (16:26):
No, it's the same, Okay, sorry, you can sell. You
could do a little treat bag for a gift. It works.
You're like, what are you talking?
Speaker 3 (16:33):
So you could bring a sweet potato cassrole to the
friends giving? Yeah, friends, miss Christmas party really throwing me off?
This is friends, miss.
Speaker 4 (16:40):
Yes, I totally missed that whole thing because I was like, oh,
what to bring to eat?
Speaker 1 (16:44):
Okay, gifts, we're going there. That's all right.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
We've got a lot of options. I would say. One
of my favorite things is to get barefoot Dreams fuzzy socks.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
Ooh, there's a bunch of women.
Speaker 3 (17:00):
Because those are like really high quality fuzzy socks and
their comfy.
Speaker 4 (17:04):
Everybody's loved them. Oh yeah last year I did so
some of my friends. Yeah, I did some fuzzy socks,
a thing of hand lotion and a candle, and that's
like thirty's.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
Little self care gift. Yeah, those are fun.
Speaker 3 (17:19):
But see, whenever we do like our big when we
do it with my dad's side. For Christmas, we'd always
do bring gift cards and they were always the one
that got passed around. So if you're doing a type
of pass around situation, get a gift card, like an
Amazon gift card. Everybody loves an Amazon gift card. Or
you could do a Target gift card that's really popular too,
if you don't want to just do a basic visa.
(17:39):
Those are fun, or like a Taco Bell gift card.
I love a gift card. Like I'm a huge fan
of gift cards.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
I am too. I will keep saying that I will
use them.
Speaker 4 (17:48):
Yeah, they say it's like boring or not creative, and
I'm like, love it. If it's something that everybody you know,
it's practical, logical, and it doesn't take up space. Yes,
and you know that they're probably going to use it.
Unless there's somebody who doesn't want free money. I know
that feels weird though, Yeah, you don't like free money.
That feels weird, That is weird. How about a heated blanket?
Speaker 1 (18:08):
Oh fun? I love those. Okay, I don't even think
I have a heated blanket. Oh my gosh. Really yeah,
love you just plug it in, get all cozy.
Speaker 3 (18:18):
She's like doing things with her hands over here, and
I'm like, I'm not exactly sure what that means.
Speaker 1 (18:22):
But I hear you.
Speaker 3 (18:22):
I'm imagining myself on a couch on my photon with
a heated blanket.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
I like that. You'd also do a crew neck of
some kind.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
My friends for my birthday one year, my thirtieth birthday,
they got a stitching of roomy and hazel on their
faces in a little red crew neck and wear it
all the time.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
Oh I love that.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
So they could do a personalized crew neck of some
kind or like for their team, or maybe there's like
something they're super geeked out about. Crew necks are always
easy and slippers. I'm trying to think of things I love,
but you just kept going the self care route, like
you started somewhere, and you just like trickled in that
same These are because I would love to get that's
and that's what matters. So we got all the options here.
(19:06):
We came up with some wine. Wine's good unless they're
not a wine drinker. I'm not.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
I'm not either anymore, but people seem to love to
get it.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
You know, I love a kitchen utinsil you find a
cool kitchen utensil. That's like people would love whether it's
like a vegetable cutter or I don't know, maybe I'm weird.
I really like kitchen Gatchets's that weird?
Speaker 1 (19:29):
Am I old? A veggie cutter? I love it? I
love those?
Speaker 3 (19:33):
But again, practical like that's where my mind goes. So
I'm like, oh, like, if you love to cook, you're
gonna use something like that.
Speaker 1 (19:39):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
I guess it depends on if you're doing someone or
just if you're doing someone specifically. We have plenty of options.
If you're doing like a rotation situation where you're like
throwing around gifts, gift card always it's always a winner.
Oh yeah, and throw some fuzzy sacks with it. Everybody
will be happy. Oh my gosh, that's the best right there.
See right there, that's it.
Speaker 1 (19:58):
Not my or a.
Speaker 4 (19:58):
Sweet potato casse that in the world, Abby, I don't
I miss that.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
I went somewhere else in that moment.
Speaker 3 (20:05):
But also bring the sweet potato casts role with the
gift you just went with it too.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
I be like, okay, you know, I'll let y'all roll
with things.
Speaker 3 (20:14):
We see where they go, thank you, but yeah, bring
the sweet potato cast role with.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
Your fuzzy socks. I love a par of SOX. Okay,
all right, let's get out of here. Oh man, Yeah,
I'm gonna go sleep or something. Gotta focus. I think
we both need some sleep. Coffee maybe, I don't know.
I don't think more coffee. I haven't had any today.
Now I'm like loopy. Okay, okay, bye, every vibe.
Speaker 2 (20:41):
That's the best bits of the week with Morgan. Thanks
for listening. Be sure to check out the other two
parts this weekend. Go follow the show on all social.
Speaker 1 (20:49):
