Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Best Bits of the Week with Morgane Part one
with a member of the show Habvy Weekend. Everybody, Abby
is joining me. What's up, Abby?

Speaker 2 (00:11):
What's up?

Speaker 1 (00:12):
Excited to talk about all the things?

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Yeah, we have a lot to catch up on.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Yeah, Like, I want to hear about your birthday trip
because it looks so much fun and the boyfriend went
all out, so tell me about it.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
He did. Oh my gosh, Cuz, like you and I
were talking before because I had not been to a
theme park in forever. You know, you were like, oh
my gosh, you better take like dramamine or whatever from
motion sickness. I didn't get sick.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
That's amazing. Yeah, you were just ready to rock and
roll and you went on everything.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Huh. You know it's crazy because we went on Sunday
because it was only open on Sunday. I guess they
rented it out for a company on Saturday.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
I was like, what, okay, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
And so I know because our Sunday, like I have
Sunday scaries all the time, so it's not ideal.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
I don't want to be doing a bunch of stuff
on a Sunday, right.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
But it was actually fun. But we drank like the
night before, and I like the first ride, oh my,
because I didn't want to drink too much because being
hungover at the bar that's no fun. But we went
to if you missed It or whatever it was in Atlanta.
It was six Flags that were Georgia.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
I was trying to think of that. I have no
idea what it was called because.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
It's only like it's less than four hours from us. Yeah,
I can't believe perfect. Yeah, I hadn't been.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Do they have crazy coasters there?

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Oh my gosh. They were wild, like upside down everyone
you can imagine, Like I think there was like ten
main roller coasters, which I'm not used to because we
went to Worlds of Fun. Yeah, it was like a
couple or you.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Know, World's of Fun. Of what I remember was more
water park. Maybe that's just more what we did when
we were there.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Yeah, there were a lot of those. Okay huh, But
like I remember the Mamba that was always my favorite,
where goes like straight down and then like orient Express
or whatever. But those were so your head hurts because
they're so like rough. There were a few on this one,
but like not too bad. They were so fun and
your boyfriend loves roller coasters too. Yeah, but he hadn't
been on forevers either, so we were like really nervous.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
But it neither one of you got sick.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
No, No, it was awesome. Yeah, it was so fun.
I would go again. And there were no lines. It
was just like the perfect time.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
And how was it having a full weekend of a
boyfriend who just was celebrating the heck adio?

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Yeah that doesn't that never happened before. Remember the one
that like forgot my birthday?

Speaker 1 (02:22):
I do remember?

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Yeah, so I know, And so I think he like
realized or knows how important it is to me. And
so yeah, we went to a steak restaurant Friday night
in Nashville. It was like the best. It's called Oak.
It's downtown Oak Steakhouse. Best steak I've ever had. And
then what do we do?

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Saturday?

Speaker 1 (02:42):
What did we do? Oh?

Speaker 2 (02:43):
We drove to Atlanta. Saturday. We stopped in Chattanooga and
I saw a friend from high school I haven't seen
he just moved there. We got ice cream at ice
Cream Show. Have you been there? It's called the ice
Cream Show and it has like thousands of combinations of
ice cream.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Well, when I can eat again. I'm going, Oh, my.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
Gosh, I know we need to talk about that too.
I want an update because I don't know how you're
doing that.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
I'm barely surviving, but oh my gosh.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
We'll talk about that. And then we went to Atlanta
and he got a hotel with like there's like the
three sixty view on top, and that was so cool.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
And you were rotating. Yeah, okay, I remember you mentioned
that you were rotating on the Big Show and I
so I went to a rotating bar. I think it's
called the Carousel in Louisiana, New Orleans, and that one
made me sick. I think I'm just not I'm not
good with twisty, turney things. Oh wow, but that one
moved fast.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
It's like the floor moves right, yeah, uh huh yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
And I literally I was like halfway through my drink.
I was like, I don't think I'm gonna last much longer.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
My gosh. So we were probably there forty five minutes
and then it did a full rotation. I think within
that forty five es you were moving very slow.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
Then yeah, okay, this one was much faster.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
What kind of place I.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
Don't know, And maybe because it wasn't super like yours
seems more wide because I was at the top of
a building. Yeah, this was at like the bottom, I
guess of a building. So it was a pretty small circle.
So you're rotating pretty quickly.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Yeah, you don't do the dizzy well or the ones
that spin.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
No, nothing spinning. Just don't make me spin, you know,
don't even turn me in a circle. I will never
be a ballerina.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Oh my gosh. Yeah, because at the theme park or whatever,
there were those high swings you know that they have
a carnivals or fairs or whatever, but this one went
it was like higher than any of the rides, and
I yeah, we didn't do well on that one. That
was the one where we were like, oh my gosh,
I just like closed my eyes.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Really you got sick on that one.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
It was super windy and just like you can't focused
on one spot, you know, because you're just like spinning.
So yeah, I can kind of see that because it
was super high up.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Well, I'm glad that's the only one that it happened
on and didn't ruin the whole day or anything like that.
It was so fun.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
And then the Batman ride that was like my favorite.
It was awesome because it's like those kinds that you're
walking up to it and it has all like the
like you're out down in like a I don't know, it's.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
The queue line that had the queue is really cool
leading up to the Yes, it's called yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Oh my god, oh the cute.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
I didn't know that, but it was cool.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
And they really decorated it and went all out. Normally
you only see that places Universal and Disney. So it's
cool that six Flags is stepping up their game. I know.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
I was like, this is awesome. So yeah, we had fun.
Then we drove back, I worked in the car and yeah,
but it was really fun weekend. And then his kids
like surprised me with balloons and flowers when they got home,
like before my birthday, and I was like, oh my gosh,
they're so cute.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Oh really sweet. That's so sweet. I know. So officially,
can mark off the fact that you have a good
boyfriend who wants to celebrate you.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
Yes, yeah, I'm like, wow, Era, it really is. Yeah,
So it was awesome.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
I'm really happy for you. That's really exciting. And speaking
of Nashville, you mentioned Oak Steakhouse, but you also said
that a lot of listeners call in and want recommendations
and things to do and all of that.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
They call in every day and they're like, hey, I
just want to ask, like everybody's favorite places. And since
we're like a national show, it's hard to do that,
you know, because like we would want to talk about
every city. So I always say, like, I guess where
would you recommend? I guess online that you have it.
I say, go to your online.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
We're going one that does a whole lot in Nashville.
You do too, you just don't really post them. So
that's right, right more what it is? Yea, But yeah,
I have a whole highlight on my Instagram page at
web Girl Morgan. But I will list some here because
I have put together my entire Nashville favorites list. Love
it and this will help you. And at any point

(06:37):
in time, if you hear any of these, be like
retweet if you're like, yes, I love this one. Okay.
So for Mexican food, I'm just listing these so you
may have to slow me down super fast. I don't
want to take up too much time. But Mexican food,
we got El Fuego Blanco Las Palmas and Butchertown.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Hall Blanco Yep, been there, love it.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
Great one. We've got Italian Pilato, Cocoa's, Ella's ameergo Iggy's
in Saint Vito fo Shira. I'm never gonna say that, right,
Wakasha pakasha like the bread. Yeah, I had to find
it because it's all bread like. It's all these different
versions of fakasha.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
Oh. I love Italian so good.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
So any of those cocoas cocos and there, I love it.
If you haven't been to Bolado, I've been to America, Okay,
so like and I'll get my top favorite of all these.
After American, we got the Henry Fancy Pants, Barcelona, Sixty Vines,
Bourbon Steak, House of Cards, Le Petite Chef, and Postino
Bourbon Bourbon Steak, Pricey Bourbon steak. Is I would say

(07:39):
for a very fancy not out.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
Yeah, if you want to go all out, is it
kind of hard to get in? Sometimes feel like, yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
I think you just at least need a reservation. That's
not one that I would suggest walking up to unless
you go right when they open, or because it's also
a really cool view of the city. So that's why
it's sometimes harder to get in, but definitely pricey. So
that's yeah, but it's good. It's really good. Their sides
were bombed. They had really good dessert because I don't
eat steak, but I loved that place. For drinks, I've

(08:09):
got Skinny Dennis pushing Daisies, The Amsterdamien, Atta Boy, Shulman's, Autos,
Tiger Bar, Golden Sound, Imberski Lodge, and Playdate.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
So many Ooh, Playdate's fun. There's a slide.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
You were just there.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
I love going there.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
Uh huh, that's a cool spot. Yeah, any others on there,
I'm sure you've been to a lot of those.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Yeah, I've been to quite a few of those. I like,
I always go to ed Lee's for barbecue, Like that's
just my go to. It's not right downtown, but it's
in twelve South. Like my recommendation when you're in Nashville
is kind of go buy area, you know, like do
spend time downtown, and then another favorite is like twelve South, Midtown, Germantown,
and East Nashville. Those are kind of like the main

(08:52):
I guess in the gulch, those are like the main areas,
and then you can just kind of explore that's what
I like doing. Yeah, look at menus.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
And that's a good point about all the different areas
because twelve South is also one of my favorites. I
just love it. If you want to shop and walk around.
A bunch of the places I mentioned are there. You
got play day you have.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
Uh, why did you say urban grub?

Speaker 1 (09:14):
No, I didn't say that one. But Postino if there.
Imbursi Lodge is there for drinks, so a few of
those and then East Nashville. Those are my two kind
of favorite locations in Nashville. And if you've never been
to Broadway, you should absolutely check out Broadway. But if
you're not a big drinker, Broadway is not going to
be your scene. It's kind of overwhelming if you're sober.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
Good day. I mean, like at night it gets.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
Wild, but during the day on like a Saturday, it's
not the same as the evening, So it just depends
when you're coming. But just you know, be prepared for that.
It's fun and you have to see it at least
walk it. But also, you know, there's a lot of
other cool parts about Nashville than just Broadway and even
just mid Doown for that matter, Downtown and roll, there's

(10:00):
East National is my favorite place for going out to
have drinks and dinner. In twelve South is my favorite
for daytime and walking around having a drink and shopping.
And I also really love Fifth and Broadway. There's a
lot there you can shop and have drinks. That's for
Blanco and sixty vines.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
Is it's so cute there. Yeah, inside like they're every
kind of food you can imagine. Inside you have a
little what's it.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
Called cafeteria kind of food hall, food hall, you know, Yeah,
lots of options for everybody. Yeah, I would say one
day you should spend Fifth and Broadway, downtown Broadway because
that's all kind of right by each other another. Like
during the day twelve South you can day drink, you
can hang out, shop, and then spend the evening in
East Nashville. And then if you're open to it, there's

(10:42):
like eight million water fuddles. Waterfuddles. I don't know what
a water fuddle is, but wait, that's what what is it? Waterfalls?
Much what I was trying to say, talking too fast?

Speaker 2 (10:53):
That's funny. How do you feel about pedal taverns and
the party buses and all those how do you feel I.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
Think if you're coming town to do things, that's the
wrong thing to do.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
Really.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
Yeah, I mean I get it. If you're a bachelorette
bachelor party and all you guys are doing is spending
your weekend drinking, then yeah, it adds a little bit
spice to the party. But if you're coming with some
family or friends and just wanting to really experience Nashville,
that's not the way I would do it. What are
your thoughts.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Well, I thought I did the pedal tavern with friends.
I thought it was so fun. It was so fun.
I want to do it again really time ago.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
It is so fun. But I had fun because it
was here and I live here.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, you definitely want to be with
a big group, you know, not just maybe like two
or three you like, I don't.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
Know, Yeah, And I guess I don't know. I don't
know that that's my way to see a city. I
think I'm more adventurous and I want to see everything
versus being on a pedal tavern for a couple hours
and seem I'd rather just bar hop on my own
in a new city. And maybe that's why they.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
Have like the tour buses. You can hop on and
hop off of right, they look like a trolley.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
I've never done them, but I see a lot of people.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
Yeah, that might show around, you know, show you different areas,
or give you ideas for the history of the city,
which is also cool.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
I think if you wanted to like drink and have
fun too, I would more so go up like Errington Vineyards.
Go a little but outside the city and go to
the vineyard and have a whole day drinking there. That
would be more fun to me than the pedal tavern.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:18):
Or I would also suggest there's cool bars like play
Downtown has so many games and stuff that you can
just spend all day drinking and hanging out. We have
a lot of places like that, so I think I'd
rather spend time doing those than the pedal tavern. But
I get it, there's an excitingess to it, especially if

(12:39):
you live in a city that doesn't have them.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
Yeah, you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
Sure, there's that level of it. And if you have
a really big group, it's hard to find enough things
to do with a really big group, So I w'd
weigh your options. If you're coming with a small group,
go do other fun things. But if you have a
big group and you're trying to find multiple things to do,
that's a good option. Yeah, for sure, what else you
got on your list? What else do I have?

Speaker 2 (12:59):
I mean in the Country Music Hall of Fame, that's fun.
I mean there's a lot in there.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
So yeah, I'm not a good I'm not a very
good history person. I've been trying to get more into
history stuff and just seeing it or whatever. But I
even as someone who's not huge into all that, I
love the Country Music Hall Fame.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
And seeing like what they wore and their instruments and stuff.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
And they have a huge vinyl wall. That's really cool.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
Yeah, that's awesome. I like Category ten and Laney Wilson's
Bar and then Chiefs Eric Church's Bar. Those are like
my favorite on Broadway.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
Chiefs is one of my favorites as well for downtown Broadway.
Laney Wilson's. Yeah, if you're a big sports fan, Category
ten has a cool sports viewing area and betting I
think too, that is insane. I went up there.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
They have like recliners and like a couch. It's the
coolest thing ever.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Yeah. But besides that, yeah, I would say if there's
anyone I'm ever gonna go to, it's probably gonna be Cheafe.
I love dueling piano bars and they have that. And
then Pushing Daisies is my favorite bar actually on Broadway
in an underground Margarita bar. Oh yeah, oh I did
go there once. That was really cool.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
Fun. Isn't the bar like lit up? Yeah, it's like marble,
the very ivy.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
Sometimes they have jazz music down there, or twelve thirty
Club in general their rooftop, and they're also they have
a cool lounge area that has jazz music. Sometimes that's
cool for like Broadway type food. And yeah, Blanco is
one of my favorites down there. So and then also
let's see here, I've got brunch options Adele's, Mockingbird Guy,

(14:26):
State Side Kitchen, and Loveless Cafe for brunch ideas fancy dinner.
I did put bourbon steak on it. I also had
fancy pants, the standard in House of Cards, some crossover
in those American ones. And I also get lots of
requests of I'm just going to quickly read some of
these so people can write them down. Casual breakfast, lunch,
picnic cafe, Bingei's, Bagels, Jmas, it's a breakfast burrito truck

(14:49):
and you will not be sad about that. Do. Santo's
also has a breakfast burrito window. My personal favorite paint
like breakfast is Pancake Pantry. It's always worth the line.
You actually don't wait that long. It's really good. A
cafe and or Mezso proper Bagel, Ladybird Taco. You want
Greek food, Anatolia is one of my favorites. Tai sushi,
Asian food bite a bit two tin jack Oku. I

(15:11):
told you I like amazing.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
That's awesome.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
Desserts, so we got Matheson's frice cream. If you come
when Fries Cream is open, they serve ice cream with fries.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
That's so cute. I walked by the other day and
they we're like kids and families.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
And it's so good. If you are a person who
likes your frosty with fries growing up, if you did that,
you didn't, that's well, you also don't eat frybuts, so
this makes sense. We're tracking in the right direction here.

Speaker 2 (15:37):
You got them want fry butts like in my ice cream?
I don't know, Okay, well you.

Speaker 1 (15:40):
Can have the other fried in ice cream and it's
so good. You can do different combinations of the ice
cream and the fries, different seasonings. Really, it's really good.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
That is so odd to me.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
Oh, it's so good.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
What kind of seasoning.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
Well, you could do like black pepper, you could truffle,
you could do hot like spicy, or in ice cream,
and then you can do vanilla ice cream. I always
do chocolate scream with their gluten free waffle fries and I.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
Ooh, that's interesting.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
When I can eat Darek and I'll be going back,
but they might not be open because they're typically open
when it's like warm and nice outside. And of course
Ginny's ice cream is great. And for some activities we
mentioned Errington. This is what I this is my activities
list that'd be fun. You can make a bracelet at
Little Words Project. You can make a Google cluster at
Google Cluster HQ, which is so much fun. Arrington Vineyard

(16:27):
Pins Mechanical which is duck pin bowling, and then put Shack,
which is mini golf. Yeah, those are all good. Yeah,
so lots of things there. I'm just not I think
if you've never been, you should absolutely go to Broadway.
But if you have been or you know, and you
don't really care that much. Just pop in and see it.
And there's so much else outside of Nashville to see.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
So much, it gets so overwhelming. It's in a new city.

Speaker 1 (16:50):
Oh yeah, I especially even just in my current cleanse
and stuff, I haven't tried places and I think fifteen
twenty places I've started adding to my list. I'm like,
I don't even if I'm gonna be able to eat
these again, hopefully one day.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
Oh my gosh. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
Yeah, So I'll fill you in, but let's take a
quick break right here. Yeah, so you know how you
were doing the extended fast after Kane Brown.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
The seventy two hour Yeah, so you did seventy two
hours only drink water?

Speaker 1 (17:20):
Right? And coffee? Right? Black coffee?

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Well, I don't like black coffee, so no, I was
just having water.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
Okay, So that's part of my detox cleanses. Once a
week I do an extended fast.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
Oh my gosh, how is it going like in general?
Are you feeling better?

Speaker 1 (17:37):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (17:37):
Really?

Speaker 1 (17:38):
Overall, I feel like a lot of inflammation has gone
from my body. I feel a little bit more clear headed.
I don't feel as tiged all the time. But it's
also just been an interesting road because I've I've learned
so much and my my body is in just basically
constant chaos and stress. So outside of what I've made

(18:00):
a lot of changes to do, my body is like
not ready to fully detox yet because it's not safe.
It doesn't feel ready to let go of stuff that's
it feels like it's protecting me. And it's interesting because
I don't feel stressed, like I don't feel I have
super stressful things happening, but based on just my heart

(18:22):
rate and my body temperature, my body's in a constant
state of stress.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
Oh my gosh, if yours is, I don't want to
know mine, but keep going yeah no.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
And it's been like I'm like, okay, so how do
we fix this? Like we just have to keep like
reminding your body in different ways, whether it's food or
or trying these different detox methods. Is like you're safe
and you don't have to stress. It's like really trying to.
I even saw a video of somebody talking about this
where everything they did was just rushed. Everything it was

(18:52):
constantly You're just constantly moving on the go. You never
had a moment where you just kind of flow down
and allowed life to happen, and when I look at
my life, I'm very much that way. Yeah, I'm not
good at relaxing. I'm not good at downtime, and I
always have so much to do that I don't have
a lot of downtime, and so it's it's been frustrating

(19:13):
because I have all the tools and resources now to
help myself get better, but I haven't created an environment
to get better, if that makes any sense that it does, Like,
you know, it's just that's also not how most people are.
Most people we work for hours and hours a day
and you go home and you have so much to do.
I can't even imagine having kids and the whole you know,

(19:37):
ordeal that comes with that, that you never get to
relax and let your body chill out and try and
like calm your nervous system and do all these things
that you're supposed to do. And that just makes me
really sad that that's such a big factor of what's
chronically hurting so many people. Yeah, oh for sure. Yeah,
I'm a super fast faced environment.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
Yeah, I feel like I feel it with me time too,
Like you don't even have time to like think about
your health or you know, it's just like go go, go,
go go, and you're just tired, and it's like a
never ending cycle. And it's like how do you break that?

Speaker 1 (20:11):
How do you break it? When you're trying to help
yourself survive, Like you have to work, Yeah, you have
to make money, and unless you grind really hard, it's
kind of hard to make a lot of money. You know.
They don't make it easy to go out there and
work a normal job that makes you feel less stressed
and make good money.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
So it's just a it's a really interesting situation that
I feel like I'm now in, Like I do feel better,
but to fully be able to get the benefits of
what I'm doing, I have to get my body to
chill out and stop being so high stressed and high strung.
And I just don't really know how that's gonna work.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
Yeah, how do you do that? What do you change?

Speaker 1 (20:51):
First?

Speaker 2 (20:51):
Like you take on less, you stop saying yes to
so much?

Speaker 1 (20:55):
Yeah, yeah, I mean it's a lot of that. It's
rewiring your brain to allow yourself to breathe, really live
in the moment, be present, not rush things like try
and not fill your schedule so much that you are
doing that and trying to figure out what's necessary versus
what can hold off. Like I'm notorious for creating to
do lists, and I love crossing things off that to

(21:16):
do list. So as soon as I get one thing done,
I can't wait to start crossing off more.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
Oh my gosh. Yeah, yeah, it's just and then that's
never ending. You're like, oh, this feels so good to
keep going.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
Yep, and you keep adding more things and then you
keep crossing them off. There's never a break. So I'm
really having to like restrain myself from putting so much
on me, whether that's work or life or activities or
being social. Like I've had to just really kind of
turn in. And I don't want to say hermit because

(21:48):
I don't think that's healthy, but in this space in
my life right now, I kind of am. I've just
had to say no a whole lot more and put
my like healing first ahead of all of that. And
as someone as you would feel who's super social and
loves to do things and live life, it's really hard.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
It is.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
You feel like get fomo, you feel like you're missing
out on things, you feel like you're you know, I
don't feel like the best friend I've ever been because
I can't do things, and I you know, anybody could
ever come over and hang out and sit with me
and watch a movie, but like that's not what most
people want to do because they're not in the same
space right now. It's just a it's a weird I

(22:29):
don't know. I just I feel like I'm in a
weird space right now.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
Yeah, you're definitely not alone, you know. Like there's certain
people I hang out with and they are just like
so calm, have no worries, so slow paced, and I'm like,
oh my gosh, speed it up. But it's such like
I wish I had more of that in me. Yep,
I'm just like, oh my gosh, how do you have
the ability to not be I just know my mind
is just always going I want to walk faster. I

(22:53):
want the elevator to get here sooner.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
You know.

Speaker 2 (22:56):
I have like road rage and people are going slow,
so stuff like that that I wish I didn't have.
And it's like, man, how do you stop?

Speaker 1 (23:02):
Well? And it's a like conscious rewiring of your brain
to say, hey, we don't need to go fast, or
hey this can take a like take a beat, have
a breath, and it's even I am listening now to
like higher frequency sounds because it's supposed to help with
stress and like teaching your body that it's safe. I
mean when I tell you, I'm trying everything just to

(23:25):
you are see what my body will respond to be
ready for. It's crazy. It feels crazy. I feel, you know,
like what am I doing? Heck? I even the other
day I had like another stressful situation, and for the
first time, I allowed myself to cry because of a
stressful situation. Normally I'm just like get it together and
move forward. We got stuff to do. And the other

(23:46):
day I literally cried and then just slept for three
hours and it was all it was because so I learned.
I went back to the dentist I've had I've talked
about this on the show. I've had cavities more than
I ever have in my entire life. I've until pre COVID,
I had zero cavities, and now I think I've had
seven or eight. Field Now I just went back and

(24:06):
there's one that could possibly be a root canal, and
I cried in the office and I'm like, I don't
want a root count. Also, mind you, needles are my
worst fear. So anything with dental work just makes my
body go in the opposite direction. And you know, I
was talking to like my integrative health practitioner. She's like, Yeah,
your body has a whole lot of bacteria that's just
holding onto and your mouth health is coordinated to your

(24:29):
gut micro microbiome and there's all these connections that are happening,
and like we see it and we know what it is.
It's just trying to get your body to release and
let go. And I'm like, well, I just added more
to that stress. So my gosh, and it's crazy. It's
just you realize how everything is so connected. M h.
I think that's more of my lesson that I've learned

(24:51):
is everything, every choice that I make, everything I do
every single day has an impact on my health and
what I'm doing and putting in my body. And that
is it's exhausting, Yeah, it is.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
That's wild about the cavities. I've always had cavities my
whole life. But they say it's like genetic like and
it is.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
I think there's some genetic predisposition there.

Speaker 2 (25:12):
But that's yeah, that's field.

Speaker 1 (25:15):
It's a weird translation between like never having them to
in the last three years I've had all of these
issues and that's just another another one. Yeah, like pile
onto to everything else, and it's crazy there you know,
they're in there's and I know some people are going
to hear and be like they're you know, that's not
possible and that's not what it is. But I can

(25:35):
only do what feels necessary and right for my body
at this moment and try and be as educated as
I can to help myself and like willing to try
everything to feel better. But it's also it makes me
really sad that it takes that much to get better,
I know, you know what I mean. Yeah, most people
can't do this. This is not available to majority of people.

(26:00):
Is eating healthy available? Yeah, but it's also expensive and
everybody wants to say it's not, but you know you
want to actually get foods that are fully organic or
from a farm and do farmers' markets and stuff, it's expensive,
Like that costs a lot of money. And it's also
time and as we just talked about, like we don't
have time. Most people don't have time to cook every

(26:23):
single meal and put all these ingredients and it's definitely
an active choice you have to make. But I just
feel for you know, the moms out there who want
this and want to feel better and do these things,
or the dads and they just don't have the space
or the scope or the time. And that just makes
me sad. It should not be this hard to just

(26:43):
feel good, you know what I mean? Yeah, I shouldn't
have to do this much effort to feel good.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
I know you shouldn't. It should You should look at
it just kind of like what can you bring in?
You know, like, what are some good things baby steps
that you can bring in? What are like small things
you can eliminate, because if you look at it, yeah,
just like overwhelmed. It just overwhelms you with things. But
if you just kind of start eliminating things and hopefully
seeing a difference, Yeah, it's it's a lot of like

(27:09):
trial and error, which is really frustrating too.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
Yep, because you don't have time. Like it all goes
back to time, and time is very valuable. It's precious.
And you know, it's also like, yeah, your health is
one of the most important things, but dang it shouldn't.
It just shouldn't be that hard. I know, like you
should have on a doctor and be like, yeah, this
is good okay, or you know, like let's let's try
and incorporate, or you can go eat food wherever and

(27:33):
you'll be fine. It's just wild, and I don't know
that I'll ever be able to be in a place
where that fully is one hundred percent healed. So it's
I feel like I've just like I go through ups
and downs like I'm like this is going really well.
Then I'm like, holy crap, this is a lot, and.

Speaker 2 (27:48):
Then it's I know, no, Like I've had anxiety for
like since I moved to Nashville. It's really weird. Like
I didn't have it in Kansas, and when I go
back home, I don't have it. Like how it's really strange.
But I started taking anti anxiety meds and I was like, oh,
I'm just gonna take them for like a year or
so or just to get it under control. I'm still
taking them. That's not something I want to do, you know.

(28:09):
I don't want to just because they're not working anymore,
Like they're just not so I there's that too. It's
like what do you do with anxiety? You know? I
exercise and do all that, and I don't know what.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
It is well, And it's so tough, right, because the
wou side of me says, okay, well, then you needed
to be in a more slow paced environment. The city
is like really just not doing well for your body.
And then also you know, it's that tough actual medical
side of like weaning off those meds and what that
looks like and do you do more damage? There's just

(28:42):
so many I think. The thing that's super frustrating is
every time I look into things and try and educate
myself and understand what's happening, is I feel like I
end up with more questions than I ever do answers,
you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (28:55):
Yeah, No, that's so true.

Speaker 1 (28:57):
I'm like, okay, now, yeah, like okay, now it's this
or this is that? So like I totally get that.
And it's also like, I think if all of us
had a more slow paced environment in general, we would
be better. But that's just not the place we've created
in general. It's just not and Kansas is pretty slow paced.
So I see a correlation there, right.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
But also me moving to Nashville was me into the
real world, you know, like an have real responsibilities really,
you know, like in college you're studying and working towards stuff,
in high school, you don't have worries. But when I
moved here is when I'm like, oh things, things are real.
You got to figure out what you're doing, you know everything.
So but it's also genetic. My mom, my grandma, you know,

(29:40):
have extreme anxiety. So there it is there, that's where
it comes in. There is correlation to food with anxiety too.
But coffee that I shouldn't be drinking every morning, they say,
I don't know, I stay away from caffeine.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
It's also balanced, like you how to do it makes
you happy? And also I don't know, like, yeah, I
more questions and answers always truly, and that's frustrating.

Speaker 2 (30:04):
So yeah, it's probably just yeah, more trial and error.
I just need to do that, which yeah, haven't really been.

Speaker 1 (30:10):
But again that requires time, that requires a lot of changes,
and yeah, I you know, I just have I just
have a lot of empathy for people because there's so
many people that have reached out who are struggling, which
is so much chronic illness or things that they're going through,
and it just that just makes me sad. We're in
a you know, a chronic state of people feeling sick
and that sucks.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
It really does.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
So I hope, I hope everybody can start to find
things that help them and get better. And I don't
I don't think there's a one fix off for anybody.
I think it everybody's going to have a different journey
to get to that point. It's going to be very
specific to whoever, just like yours is going to be
different than mine.

Speaker 2 (30:48):
But right, so, when are you done with your like cleanse?

Speaker 1 (30:52):
Technically supposed to be done at the end of October, okay,
but it just kind of depends on where I'm at,
if I'm feeling better. Yeah, know how that continues. So
I do think the gluten free and eating less dairy,
I can't go completely dairy free. God, I miss cheese
so much, so much, I should.

Speaker 2 (31:12):
Not believe it. How have you been doing that? You
love cheese?

Speaker 1 (31:15):
Yeah, it has been. I have learned that I have
a lot of self control, but I didn't think I had.
So that's been cool.

Speaker 2 (31:22):
You haven't had any drinks or anything.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
No, I haven't drank at all since it started. It's crazy. Yeah, yeah,
it's wild.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
That's really good. I'm like looking over here in my
head like, wow, how are you doing this? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (31:35):
The self control has been crazy. But yeah, I don't
know so, but.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
It needs Sometimes it just needs to be done. You
gotta just go on.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
And I hadn't really hit that point where it was
time where I was like, Okay, something has to change
and we got to try something different. So yeah, anyways,
we're gonna take a quick break. We'll come back. Okay,
no more cleansing. Sorry if I was a little soap boxy,
I'm just like super frustrated for people, myself included in Abbey.
He's also sitting here going through it. She didn't realized
she's She's like, dang it, Okay, we'll be right back,

(32:11):
all right. So, speaking of you had went on your trip,
I had done Gallinburg. You want to go to another
amusement park. There's one in Gatlinburg. What what is it?
The top of a mountain? Wait? Is it like Anaquista?

Speaker 2 (32:23):
I wanted to do it. It was closed when I went.
I think high winds.

Speaker 1 (32:28):
Well, it is on the top of a mountain, so
I guess that makes sense wind would be a factor.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
Wait, so what's up there?

Speaker 1 (32:34):
Well, it would have been a lot more fun if
I was eating and drinking a night because I couldn't
do either, but it's really cool. It very much is.
You can walk around. They have the treetop skywalk up there,
which I guess is really cool at night. We didn't
you see it at night, but they have some rides
up there. There's a coaster. I don't know that it's
like a crazy coaster like big drops or anything, but
you're in a solo thing. We saw it and they

(32:56):
have live music going on up there. When we were there,
it was the October. They were doing a whole drinking
beer in all the different places and it was just cool.
It was a cool, little like surprise in the middle
of downtown Gallenburg.

Speaker 2 (33:09):
That's so cute. Oh my gosh, you guys should do
that one for sure, because you have to take a lift, yep.
And that's what we were in line and they were like, sorry,
high winds, you have to close it down.

Speaker 1 (33:20):
I'm like, no, yeah, because there's also multiple lifts in Gallenburg,
but there's only one that like goes to this one.
We're trying to figure out which one do you go on?
What's the difference in all of them? And I was like, oh,
it looks like there's like a little town up there.
And there was. There was a whole little town so
cool and really cool views. There's cool places to eat
where you could sit and just look at the mountains.

Speaker 2 (33:40):
So I love it there.

Speaker 1 (33:42):
I know I saw another bear.

Speaker 2 (33:43):
Oh my gosh, I haven't seen a bear really. Yeah,
black bear.

Speaker 1 (33:46):
Yeah, it was a little teenager.

Speaker 2 (33:48):
That's so cute.

Speaker 1 (33:50):
We were actually leaving our airbnb and at the end
of the road, my boyfriend was like, is that a cat? Like,
that's a bear?

Speaker 2 (33:57):
Is that a cat?

Speaker 1 (33:58):
Well, because there's like far enough of that just like
looked black and as we like drove up next to it,
started running away and I got video footage of it.
It's just like running love flapy ears just by itself.

Speaker 2 (34:10):
Yeah, where was the mom?

Speaker 1 (34:12):
I don't think it was a baby anymore. It was
at the point of teenage life, so it had separated
from mama because we were looking for a mom and
just in case. We were in a carb so we
would have been fine. But that's so cute.

Speaker 2 (34:23):
I used to see news stories quite a bit of Gatlinburg,
like bears downtown. Yeah, just like a thing.

Speaker 1 (34:28):
And we didn't see any downtown, but we did. This
is when we were in Townsend, which is where we
were for Hillary's wedding.

Speaker 2 (34:33):
Oh my gosh, can you I want to hear about it. Yeah,
she looked so pretty.

Speaker 1 (34:38):
Yeah she was. She was so stinking cute. My two
favorite moments. First of all, yeah, beautiful scenery. They found
a beautiful spot for a wedding. It was in Townsend, Tennessee,
and the mountains were the backdrop. But two of my
favorite parts, one which she had her grandma and his.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
They were the flower girls don't Stop and they were throwing.

Speaker 1 (35:00):
The flower petals as they walked down the aisle and
it was adorable, like genuinely one of the cutest things ever.
And then for the reception, you know, when they announced
like welcome missus and mister for the first time, they
had her dog on a leash with them when they
entered it in Yeah, and she had a bandana that

(35:21):
said I do too. It was so stick and cute.

Speaker 2 (35:24):
Oh my god, I'm so happy for her.

Speaker 1 (35:26):
I love her. Oh yeah, gosh.

Speaker 2 (35:27):
And he's so nice too, Yeah, because it's funny I
had met him, like before they even.

Speaker 1 (35:32):
Met, Yeah, because he works in the industry.

Speaker 2 (35:34):
Yeah, And I was always like, he is just the
nicest guy. Every time I see him and then I'm like, wait,
what they're dating. That's so perfect and that's awesome.

Speaker 1 (35:41):
Yeah, because they're both just super kind and yeah, I
love I love both of them, and together they're a
great couple. So it was really fun and just cool,
full circle moment from h our entire friendship of starting.
And you know, she she had reached a point where
she's just like, I just don't I don't know. I
think everybody reaches that mom right before it happens. You
had it. I feel like I had it right before

(36:03):
this boyfriend, where it was like, I'm never going to
find anyone, this is not gonna happen for me, and
I just need to accept what's going on. Yeah, and
then it happens and you're like, okay, never mind, I guess.

Speaker 2 (36:12):
Oh my gosh. I remember having those conversations with her
when she worked for the show and we were both single.
We're like, what is happening?

Speaker 1 (36:19):
Why? Like why you very much have it? And so
she did, and now it's like the best thing that
ever happened. So that was super cool.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
Were you in the wedding, We were like part of it.

Speaker 1 (36:30):
In ways, they didn't have very many because they both
had brothers and sisters, so they just had them as
their wedding parties, and then they had us doing other
things and we took pictures of her. We were certain
outfits and also helped wrangle her dog because I was like,
I volunteer for that activity, which I did. There was
a moment when there was a blessing that was happening

(36:52):
over the food and so it was super quiet, but
the venue it was all open like garage doors where
you were sitting for the reception, and my boyfriend just
leans over and was like, I believe the dog got loose,
and I just like jump out of my chair, like
where is she? And I see her and She's taken
off outside of the venue, and I'm freaking out because
I'm like, we just saw a bear, this bear territory. No,

(37:14):
you cannot get away, and I'm running after her in
my dress and heels, and thank goodness, there were some
employees at the end of the drive who we were like,
grab her, grab r grabbr and they were able to.
But for a moment there my life and her life
flashed before my eyes.

Speaker 2 (37:30):
Oh my god, where would she have gone? Would she
just keep running?

Speaker 1 (37:33):
Yes? Really, she's a wild bit.

Speaker 2 (37:35):
I don't know how some you know, some they wouldn't
they know.

Speaker 1 (37:38):
And she was not listening to me. She had a
one track mind. She was just wanting to say hi
to people. She had pushed herself out of the bribital
suee like there's a door and she pushed open the door,
and I just yeah, that's so funny. And Hillary keeps
laughing because she's like, I keep hearing about how you
saved my dog during a really big moment, and I
was like, I did, but that was it's not important.
She's fine, everything's.

Speaker 2 (37:58):
Fine, and no one's because they're like praying.

Speaker 1 (38:01):
Yeah, but there was commotions, so there was enough people
that open their eyes to be like, what's going on?
Oh my god. You just see me running, like in
a really tight dress trying to chase after her dog, Georgie.

Speaker 2 (38:12):
So that is so scary when you're like in charge
of someone else's dog or you know, you don't know
what they're gonna do, and you're like, oh my gosh,
I need you to come back right now.

Speaker 1 (38:21):
Yeah, and her best friend from home was really taking
most of those duties. So I it was like the
one moment where I was like Okay, I got you.
I'll go chase after her.

Speaker 2 (38:30):
Oh man, Okay, well I'm glad you got her back.

Speaker 1 (38:32):
Yeah, it was super cute. So it's yeah, that was good.
But that I think that's all I have. Do you
have anything else to add to the party before we
jump out of here?

Speaker 2 (38:43):
I don't think.

Speaker 1 (38:44):
So. I do want to talk about this because speaking
of the sea lift, and maybe you've had a moment
of this, Yeah, and you've probably seen like the memes
and the reels and stuff where it's like you ran
into a bunch of people's first day on Earth.

Speaker 2 (38:59):
Yeah, do you know what I'm talking that's having to
meet so much lately. I saw the airport one. Yes,
how were you talking about?

Speaker 1 (39:04):
So there's that's the one I saw. But my incident
of it was when we were getting on the ski lift.
Oh my, you would think standing in line. I don't
know if we are just not paying attention, if our
awareness is just so horrible or what, but we're standing
in line for the ski lift and it got stopped
four different times in the five minutes time that we

(39:25):
were standing in this waiting line because people stopped it
because they didn't know how to get on mind you,
there's four workers standing there telling you exactly where to stand,
what to do, when does it on the thing, and
when to put it over you. There are no misconstrued
instructions anywhere. No, And four times this thing got completely stopped.

Speaker 2 (39:45):
What is happening?

Speaker 1 (39:46):
And like I get when it gets completely stopped if
somebody needs a little bit help getting on, if like
you have someone who's a little bit older or something
like that. These were not that okay, these were mature
adults probably between you're my age and like our age.

Speaker 2 (40:02):
I have no words. This happens during roundabouts before away
stop signs and tsa like, what's happening?

Speaker 1 (40:09):
Why do we feel like people just now got out
of the womb and don't know how new life?

Speaker 2 (40:14):
I mean, I will admit, like getting on the stea lift,
it's the ski lift. It's kind of a little you're
like higher pressure because you're like people are watching. It's
coming fast, it's not stopping. You got to put the
thing down. You don't want to fall off or fall out.

Speaker 1 (40:27):
But still it is, but it's also going two miles
an hour.

Speaker 2 (40:31):
Yeah, it says down for you.

Speaker 1 (40:32):
It literally basically stops. We don't need it to actually stop.
It was just a wild moment. So I was gonna
ask you, like other times when you've seen people have
their first day on earth.

Speaker 2 (40:43):
Yes, like I said, roundabouts, you're just like it's a yield,
No one's come, just go on through, keep going four
way stop. So stop signs really get people.

Speaker 1 (40:53):
They do.

Speaker 2 (40:53):
Yeah, and then TSA You're like, yeah, you got to
take your phone out of your pocket when you go
through the X ray. You know, they like have to
come back through. They're like, oh I forgot my keys.
I'm like, okay, can we just make sure we're ready?
You got water in there? Why didn't you throw it away?

Speaker 1 (41:08):
And it's always and it's never the people who like
it should be them. Like I was behind somebody one time.
It was her first time flying, and she was so
sweet and I helped her through the whole process.

Speaker 2 (41:18):
That was her literally first okay, first time ever flying.

Speaker 1 (41:20):
Yeah, and she was super nervous, and I was like
I get it, Like this is all foreign territory. It's
the people who you know have done this a million times.

Speaker 2 (41:28):
Oh yeah, let's talk about self checkouts at the grocery store.
We talk about that. Oh, I can go on for days,
what else I know.

Speaker 1 (41:38):
And it's funny. I just it's I don't know if
it's lack well where I don't know what it is,
but I like the reference of it being everybody's first
day on Earth out of the womb. Yes, they just
forgot how to life.

Speaker 2 (41:49):
They did. It's a lot of like oblivious, you know.
Like sometimes I walk at the park and this also
actually annoys me, and you got like a friend group
and they're spread out like the whole sidewalk, and I'm like,
I'm trying to run. And sometimes they have their dogs
that are like spread out and I love dogs, I
love it, but they're on the leash and the leash
is like twenty feet wat long and they're just letting
them go free, and I'm like, I'm trying. I don't

(42:09):
know how to get past you, you know. And that
happens all the time when I go to like parks.
I'm like there's another one. I'm like, just stay on
the right side.

Speaker 1 (42:16):
Yeah, very much so. And maybe it's lack of like consideration.

Speaker 2 (42:20):
I think that's all.

Speaker 1 (42:20):
We don't really consider other people now. It's like we're
in our own bubble, our own space.

Speaker 2 (42:25):
Oh, I consider like way too much, Like I'm like,
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm in your way, go ahead.

Speaker 1 (42:29):
I think that's a Midwest and US. I think I
apologize for everything. Oh my gosh, I'm sorry. I thought
I didn't even do anything wrong, and I'm like sorry.

Speaker 2 (42:37):
My boyfriend is always like, did you just say sorry
to them for like being here? I'm like yeah. He's like, Abby,
You're allowed to take up space in this world. I'm like, oh,
it has to be in the Midwest.

Speaker 1 (42:46):
It has to it is or OP. I always say
OP a lot. I'm like, oh, oh, oh, I if
I managed to not say I'm sorry, it's oh oh,
Like acknowledge that I did something wrong without apologizing.

Speaker 2 (42:57):
My new one's oh dang. It's like when I should
stay in my head, I'm.

Speaker 1 (43:02):
Like, oh dang, internal thoughts come out.

Speaker 2 (43:04):
Uh huh. Like if I get close to someone, like
this kid was coming towards me on a bike at
the park. I was running and he like almost like
ran into me, so I had to get over really quick.
Like next to a lady walking her dog and like
I was basically on top of her and I was like,
oh dang, I'm sorry. He said both Yeah, all the
things oh oh dang, sorry, oh.

Speaker 1 (43:22):
Dang, sorry, just like let me leave word vomit.

Speaker 2 (43:26):
Yeah, basically because I just like feel bad and I
don't know. I don't know what it is.

Speaker 1 (43:29):
I know, I know I've got a lot better about it,
but there will be moments where I'm like, why did
why did I just say sorry to that.

Speaker 2 (43:37):
I'd rather have that than someone not I know, I know.

Speaker 1 (43:41):
Yeah, But then there's all the other people who don't
even realize that something's.

Speaker 2 (43:44):
Wrong, and they are just going on with life, no
not a clue that that's happening.

Speaker 1 (43:50):
And you know what, maybe that's our sign that we
need to live a little bit slower.

Speaker 2 (43:52):
Oh my gosh, you're so right.

Speaker 1 (43:54):
Maybe we're aware. Maybe that's why ours are so stress
all the time. It is because we're not slowing down enough.
And those people are the ones who have figured it
out and they're going really slow.

Speaker 2 (44:06):
Mine is also being a people pleaser. That's a lot
of it. I feel bad for, you know, I'm like, Oh,
I don't want to make somebody upset. I don't want
to burden them. Oh I'm in the way. I'll just
Maybe that's what it is like, worrying what people think
too much. I know that's what I do. So that
could be part of like the oh I'm always aware,
like what's going on? Is someone behind me? Am I
in their way? Am I going too slow?

Speaker 1 (44:28):
Oh yeah, that's Western girls, that's right. That's also might
be why you miss Kansas.

Speaker 2 (44:35):
I think it is.

Speaker 1 (44:36):
He's very kind.

Speaker 2 (44:36):
There they are, and just a lot less traffic, slower paced.

Speaker 1 (44:41):
All of it. Send us back to the farm, not.

Speaker 2 (44:45):
To the wheat fields.

Speaker 1 (44:47):
I want the corn. Okay, we're getting out of here. Abby,
thanks for joining us. But tell the people where they
can find you.

Speaker 2 (44:55):
