We have an in-studio guest, Shanna, who works in radio in Milwaukee and tells us about how she had to change her on-air name. She is in town for Country Radio Seminar and explains what happens during it. We wonder why we don’t get invited anymore. Raymundo said a country artist was bashing us on TV and he also saw a country artist at a bowling alley. Shanna explains what she does as a program director and working on the Green Bay Packers Radio network.

on your radio show. But your name is not the

I had to change it because we had a Shannon
and a hand on the station. So grame director at
the time was like, we can't have a Shannon A
Shannon a Hannah. And I was only supposed to be
on the station for a couple of months till they

were a full time person in Milwaukee. Oh it's that
same station, same station, got it, yes, So but you
where were you Quinn before? Nowhere? So I was filling
in for two months for this station. So he's like,
you got to pick a fake name. And I was
watching Scandal at the time and the one character name
is Quinn Amy Knows and I was like, oh, that
sounds like a cool radio name, right. It's only for

two months. And then I ended up moving to Milwaukee
from Albany, New York, where I was doing the show
for just a couple months. So what were you doing
in Albany, New York? I did mornings for a hot
AC station. What was your name there? Shannah? Okay, guys,
I'm telling you no idea what's going on? So it
was always Shanna. Yeah, and then this one win was temporary, yes,
and then I moved there and they were like, well,

I guess you're stuck with it now at that time
got by bones. Stuck with it, Yeah, exactly, never leave it. Well,
it's not as bad as my first radio name. So
I started in Top forty and I was just the
intern and my like the producer the show cut calling
me like Shanya, Shanna, Shana because my name is Shanna.
He could not get it right in the one morning.
I was like, it rhymes with banana, it rhymes with montana,

Like you need to remember how to say my name.
And he was like, oh, intern is angry. And then
they said, as a punishment, mynair name how to be
Shanna Montana. That's pretty funny. Oh yeah, yeah, Shanna Montana?
Was it for a while? What are you doing here
in town? I'm here for a CRUs country radio seminar?
And so what do you guys do for I don't.
I didn't get invited anything. Do you guys invited? We don't.

Um No. It's actually kind of weird that we don't
really get involved in it. We just attended, And I
feel like we should have some sort of presence being
that word. Yes, well they go that I saw if
you say we hadn't need a presence, then go, so
we go. Well, we're not part of like speaking on
a panel to educate people. You want to do that
or I don't want to do that. I don't even
though that if I didn't offer that, I'm just saying
I think that it would be a good idea for

some of us to do that. I think we need
to go to watch people tell us how to better

have to ask? So I haven't only been there for
a couple of years, but I guess my thinking or
what I've been told was that I guess there was
a time where we were involved and then we got busy.
Things happened schedules don't open up, and so we don't
get invited anymore because of them. Hey listen, I ask
people to just have about three times and they keep
saying no, I don't ask anymore. Yeah, so I think
it's one of those things. Okay, I mean we to

go hard at CRS though. Yeah, yeah, a mouse in
your pocket. I never went there. I want to go.
I was glad they stopped inviting us. Yeah, I said
no about five times. Yeah, that was a good time. Man.
We saw something cool stuff, what was good. So we
got to see private performances, go to people's houses. We
got private performances on this stage every single day. Yeah.
But free beer though, that's true. That's where it's at.

Yesterday Kevin posting like sitting watching Garth Brooks talk and
I was like, Kevin said, CRS, I didn't even know
about it, But would you have gone? Probably not, Like
we don't know. Nobody says anything. So it's like, well,
I guess Amy, you could come with me today. But
I would say that it's a good thing for like
me to go and for someone that products people to

go because we meet with the affiliates and talk of
those people. I agree it's a great time to have
your presence felt. I agree, we need more presents like you.
It's only through email and I never get to see
him in person. I feel like we developed a different
kind of relationship and I respect for each other. So
what did you do last night? Shanna? Last night I
went to Stony Girls night out, which was awesome. Old
Dominion played some new music, like they didn't actually play it,

which was like they were playing No, I wish they did,
but Matt Ramsey just played it off his phone, which
was still cool. No. No, That's what I've been like.
We got told Zach Brown was going to perform his
new album and I was like, I am going to
the studio. I'm gonna watch him in their studio perform.
We go, It's midnight and I still got to work
the next morning, and he gets up there and he
plus play on a stupid CD player and I was like,

that was the last RS. Was this, This was five
years ago. I said, we're out. We're done. Man. The
last time I went to CRS, I was listening to
songs because you got to the head bob thing where
you're like I'm feeling this and everyone likes it. I
love that, and all of a sudden, it's like it's
a great song. That's a great song, and its awkward
when you make eye contact with them too, like you're like, yeah,

me too. I'm always liked to know. I like head bob,
head down and foot going. So it's just Matt Ramsey.
It was girls' night out, so a bunch of girls
and Matt with his phone. Yeah okay, and it was
like a couple of other guys. Yeah, did you go Morgan? Yeah,
I was there. Okay. I didn't want to call up Morgan.
I was gonna say I thought I saw you walk in,
So there's a presence. We had a presence. Yeah, there
was a little bit of a presence, so there was.

It was kind of like essentially they were the magic
mike of the evening because it was all women. And
then Old Dominion comes in and I was like, this

you say a bunch of craft that ain't true, because
I wants say this too. I forgot until right now.

You told me that you saw Brett at a bowling alley. Yeah,
this weekend. Maybe it's two weekends ago. It was. It

Ray's like Brett, and so Brett's one of my best friend.

you're thinking them because they didn't bother Brett eldreds. They

you only play the clip. So she changed it up
because Morgan Evans came on our show and played his song.
So that's where she changed the song. There you go

This is my point. Oh my god, he dramatizes thinks

But that could be his song that's on the radio.

I know she would answer, well, Bones, I have lots
of jobs. So I'm the program director for if I'm

been the program tractor for a long time since November

the program director there. And FM one to six is
that the pop station or the conversation? Oh? It's the
country stage? Okay, go ahead, yeah. Um, so I've had
that position prior to that, I was an APD and
music director. But I do that. I do afternoons. I
do afternoons for a ninety six three star country that
you guys are in the morning yep. And why we're
not on a Milwaukee because I have a local morning show.

do that. Um, I help with the music. I put
together events and promotions, make sure everybody on air is online,

don't need to be thanked. I mean, that's that's not
why I do it. I do it because I love

just at the station. And so what does that mean
do you have to like learn stuff? I don't know.

I've always loved football, like the day of taking all
the stats and report it back. Yeah. So I have
like my Twitter open all different tasks, more sports than
most of the show here probably probably. Yeah. I don't
mean like that. I mean like you have to learn
stuff that day so you can get on like through
the first half of the game. Yeah. Absolutely. So I
have like Twitter open all different tabs. I've got like

the Packers Twitter open, I have they're the team that
they're playing open. I've got like the NFL Network open.
I've got like several team vs. That I'm watching because
it's not just a recap of the Packer games, it's
also around the league too. That's awesome. Yeah. So it
was funny because when I first got the job, they
were like, yeah, you're just gonna do around the league hits.
I'm like, perfect, I can do that. That's not a
big deal. We meet with the packers, They're like, okay,

so your halftime show is going to be seven minutes.
And I steered at them. I'm like, yeah, you're messing
with me. And they're like, no, no, no, you have
seven minutes of time that you need to fill, which
is a lot, by the way that it doesn't sound
like a lot, but it really is. And it was
by myself and I have never done professional sports reporting ever,
so I was this was the biggest thing I've ever tackled,

and I'm so glad I did it because it was
an amazing experience and I would do it ten times over.
Did you over prepare like crazy the first couple of times, Yeah,
so you'd have ended up with the fifteen minutes the
material and you're like, you just didn't want to run out, no,
and you know, and then you play audio, so that
I mean again, if you don't really do it, it
does take up a little bit of time, you know,
thirty seconds whatever, So adapting to that and then my

favorite I would be doing like a halftime report and
I would have the TV in front of me and
someone would score. Well, I already have this whole report
put together, I'm like, oh my gosh, so like in
the moment, you gotta go with it too. So that
was a lot for me. But I'm again, I'm really
really glad I did it. So I would do like
the first half of the Packer game, first half of
all the other games going on. It was the best
when the Packers played at night because I didn't have

to worry about other games. I would just do recaps
from earlier in the day or preview you know, the
Monday night games. A lot of stuff done too earlier.
Oh absolutely, yeah. I would just be sitting at home
watching Red Zone with my boyfriend and just doing notes
like that and picking out audio clips that I wanted
to use later on. You know, I got away with
a lot of extra football watching because of the job.
It's been amazing. It's been pretty cool. I was like,

I need to watch every game all day, every sports podcast,
have a sports show now, and DraftKings is a sponsor,
and I need to be out right on And my
wife knew us full of crap, but she can't debate
the fact that I had a sports show, and so
she be fine. And so I did. I use it
as an excuse to watch every single game. Yeah, all
day long on Thursday, on Sunday, Saturday, two on Saturday,

but NFL and then also on Monday. Yeah. It took
four days out of the whole week, but it's for work.
You only had a couple of days off, so it
again him back at it exactly. It's awesome. So like
it's over right, yeah a little bit for a little bit. Yeah,
I'll be back in August preseason. Yea, like a week off,
but then we have NC double tournam I gotta watch
any to watch every game? Yeah, yeah, I get a
sports show and then after that the masters gotta watch golf. Yeah,

the whole for all four days. Yea, yeah, no, this
is exhausting. Yeah, it's fun. So you did that. Do
you think Aaron Rodgers is going to the Jets? The
answer is yes, I think so, which kind of scares
me a little bit because I'm a Buffalo Bills fan hardcore,
so to have him in the AFC East is going
to be a little bit of a challenge for me.

And it looks like the Jets are trying to take
Cobb Lazard. Yeah, Lazard, this morning, I'm done a blizzard.
He can go. He's got a bad attitude. He can go.
Oh really yeah, oh he's got a bad attitude. Yeah,

go to any games because you're working the games. I
went to one game, and how did you work it?
I didn't. I got off because so the Packers play
the Bills every four years, and this time around it

was the time where the Packers played in Buffalo and
that doesn't happen for another eight years. So I'm like,
I have to go. So before I got the position,
I said, I was like, and I have that off,
and they were like absolutely, you know. I did some
like social stuff for them, like that's but it was amazing.
And the Bills one. So do you have like inside information?
Do you want to drop here? I don't know. I'm
very sorry I don't. Unfortunately, all right, Well, the she

has everybody, all right. We were warming up the whole
time to try to get inside knowledge on the arrand
Rodger situation. Um, Eddie is leaving our sports show, so
we may need somebody. I would love that. Yeah, so

a cat? So I understand you know what, it's really hard. Yeah,

I from what I've heard, the packers were very happy

I grew up in Buffalo. You kind of have a
what you didn't have Wisconsin accent? A little bit? I
have so being in Buffalo, it's kind of kind of
the same accent, kind of, except I do harder a's,

Wisconsin A? I don't even know. They don't really have
like a A. Well, it's more like an oh, like
you would be like, oh, oh geez, yeah, and here's
some every time we go we get in a day

use the bathroom for like six days after I leave Wisconsin.

It's the only time in Madison that I've seen cars
driving on ice ponds. Yeah. It's pretty wild. Yeah, just chilling.
They're just driving their cars right on the pond. Yeah,
that don't care. They don't care, and I guess it's
so hard and they're used to it that It's also
in Madison the only time I've tried to what are
these in a stage dive? Yes, you did stage dive,
but I realized I shouldn't have because I dove front first.

What was the theater orphium in Wisconsin? Maybe I'm trying
to think of what ones are out in Madison. I
don't think that is that a that's a theater, the orphium,

to come to Milwaukee for the summer Fest. I think

but then she won't say who, and then everybody like

I gave be such anxiety. What are the record labels
reached out to me and asked me if I could
clarify that it was not their artist, and I was
not well about it. She was like, went to dinner.

you over it? I'm like sweating thinking about it. If
it gives you anxiety, don't want it, don't do it. Well.
I talked about a not so great artist experience that
I had, and you know, you post stuff and you

don't think it's going to do anything right. So I
did that and the next day I woke up and
it had like two hundred thousand views, and I was like, oh,
oh dear, And then it was people commenting and saying

Well there are a couple of artists that don't get
along that people obviously like, I'm being very generic. I'm
very sorry, and they started pitting against each other, so

gave me anxiety because I was like, I don't like
all this negative energy with this. Like granted I brought
negative energy first, but it was just too much. And then,
like I said, one of the record labels reached out
and asked me if I could clarify it wasn't their artist,

my favorite artist. She didn't like the negative energy. I

But all this situation. I created the drama. They did
it for no reason. They did it. They created it
because they You had an unpleasant experience, so you didn't
create it. You're just putting it out there. And it
really wasn't an experience as much as it was something
that actually happened. To be fair to her, she didn't

judgment like oh they weren't very friendly. It was something

the artists like wouldn't speak to the waiter compete on

I've got like several team vs. That I'm watching because
it's not just a recap of the Packer games, it's

was funny because when I first got the job, they
were like, yeah, you're just gonna do around the league hits.
I'm like, perfect, I can do that. That's not a
big deal. We meet with the packers, They're like, okay,

so your halftime show is going to be seven minutes.
And I steered at them. I'm like, yeah, you're messing

seven minutes of time that you need to fill, which
is a lot, by the way that it doesn't sound
like a lot, but it really is. And it was
by myself and I have never done professional sports reporting ever,
so I was this was the biggest thing I've ever tackled,

and I'm so glad I did it because it was
an amazing experience and I would do it ten times over.
Did you over prepare like crazy the first couple of times, Yeah,
so you'd have ended up with the fifteen minutes the
material and you're like, you just didn't want to run out, no,
and you know, and then you play audio, so that
I mean again, if you don't really do it, it
does take up a little bit of time, you know,
thirty seconds whatever, So adapting to that and then my

favorite I would be doing like a halftime report and
I would have the TV in front of me and
someone would score. Well, I already have this whole report
put together, I'm like, oh my gosh, so like in
the moment, you gotta go with it too. So that
was a lot for me. But I'm again, I'm really
really glad I did it. So I would do like
the first half of the Packer game, first half of
all the other games going on. It was the best
when the Packers played at night because I didn't have

to worry about other games. I would just do recaps
from earlier in the day or preview you know, the
Monday night games. A lot of stuff done too earlier.
Oh absolutely, yeah. I would just be sitting at home
watching Red Zone with my boyfriend and just doing notes
like that and picking out audio clips that I wanted
to use later on. You know, I got away with
a lot of extra football watching because of the job.
It's been amazing. It's been pretty cool. I was like,

I need to watch every game all day, every sports podcast,
have a sports show now, and DraftKings is a sponsor,
and I need to be out right on And my
wife knew us full of crap, but she can't debate
the fact that I had a sports show, and so
she be fine. And so I did. I use it
as an excuse to watch every single game. Yeah, all
day long on Thursday, on Sunday, Saturday, two on Saturday,

but NFL and then also on Monday. Yeah. It took
four days out of the whole week, but it's for work.
You only had a couple of days off, so it
again him back at it exactly. It's awesome. So like
it's over right, yeah a little bit for a little bit. Yeah,
I'll be back in August preseason. Yea, like a week off,
but then we have NC double tournam I gotta watch
any to watch every game? Yeah, yeah, I get a
sports show and then after that the masters gotta watch golf. Yeah,

is exhausting. Yeah, it's fun. So you did that. Do
you think Aaron Rodgers is going to the Jets? The
answer is yes, I think so, which kind of scares

to be a little bit of a challenge for me.

I talked about a not so great artist experience that

don't think it's going to do anything right. So I
did that and the next day I woke up and
it had like two hundred thousand views, and I was like, oh,
oh dear, And then it was people commenting and saying
that they thought it was this artist, this artist, this artist.
Well there are a couple of artists that don't get
along that people obviously like, I'm being very generic. I'm
very sorry, and they started pitting against each other, so

it was like angry in the comments. And that also
gave me anxiety because I was like, I don't like
all this negative energy with this. Like granted I brought
negative energy first, but it was just too much. And then,
like I said, one of the record labels reached out
and asked me if I could clarify it wasn't their artist,
and I was like, all right, that's it. Well deleted
my favorite artist. She didn't like the negative energy. I
don't know, yeh. She created. I create. I am the ray,

But all this situation. I created the drama. They did
it for no reason. They did it. They created it
because they You had an unpleasant experience, so you didn't
create it. You're just putting it out there. And it
really wasn't an experience as much as it was something
that actually happened. To be fair to her, she didn't
create a scenario in her mind, or it wasn't a
judgment like oh they weren't very friendly. It was something

that she's all happened? Yes, when did this happen? What happened?
This happened a few years ago at a dinner. Okay, um,
the artists like wouldn't speak to the waiter compete on
the match. Dados really stood up, I know who that is? Okay, wait,
spoke to like his spouse had to speak for yes, yes,

to the waiter, and it was just it was like
what really, no, wait, wait, I missed it. I'm stuck
on the match, Dados. What happened? The artist would not
speak directly to the wait staff and spoke through their
spouse to the wait staff, and no one at the
table was saying anything. And I literally looked around. I
was like, no one's no one's gonna say anything like

this is just normal. That's interesting. It was very weird.
Who do you think it is? I don't know. I'm
thinking he has thinking a couple of years ago. I'm
not going to say who it is, but I know

person was never rude to me or rude to at
