Speaker 1 (00:00):
Who's the best team in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
That question is really easy to answer because nobody has
been playing better than the Green Bay Packers through their
two weeks of the NFL regular season. But I'm gonna
explain to you on this podcast why that isn't important. Yes,
the Packers are phenomenal, but it's not important right now.
(00:28):
This podcast is presented by five Star Bath Solutions of Minneapolis,
Affordable Transformations, Beautiful Solutions, five Star Bath Solutions of Minneapolis.
So the Packers dominate the Washington Commanders, holding them to
three points at halftime and to eighteen points throughout the contest.
(00:54):
And in this game, they sacked Jaden Daniels four times,
they had three tackle for losses, they had eight pass deflections,
and they had twelve QB hits on Jadeen Daniels. And
you pull up jade and Daniels' stats twenty four for
(01:15):
forty two, two hundred yards, two touchdowns, zero picks, a
passer rating of eighty five point four. Decent stats, but
not excellent stats. The Packers kept the Commander's offense in
check for the entire game, and the Commanders with Jaden
(01:40):
Daniels were one of the brightest offenses in the league
last season, and with Jadeen Daniels's ability to do multiple
things on the field excellent with his running and passing,
the Packers contained him because he only had seven rushes
for seventeen yards last week against the Detroit Lions. The
(02:05):
fifteen and two Detroit relions from last season. Yes, they
lost their offensive and defensive coordinators to head coaching positions,
but they brought back the quarterback, They brought back their
running back duo, and they still have their phenomenal wide receivers.
(02:27):
The Lion scored thirteen points. The Packers traded for Michael Parsons,
and he hasn't even been entirely healthy through this point
of the regular season because he came over with some
kind of back situation. But you pull up the Packers
(02:50):
defensive statistics versus the Lions four sacks, nine TFLs, two
pass deflections, and nine QB hits. The Packers' offense has
been good twenty seven against the Lions, twenty seven against
the Commanders, but the story has been their defense. Two
(03:13):
teams last year that had phenomenal offenses, the Commanders and
the Lions have been limited to the point where they've
been completely flummixed offensively because of the Green Bay Packers
pass rush and their ability to defend in the secondary.
(03:36):
But here's why it doesn't matter. The Packers started the
season two no, and from the standpoint of it not mattering.
Of course, it's better than starting the season zero and two.
This kind of start to the season is all about positioning, right,
(03:57):
you can't start zero and two, But a dominant start
to the degree that the Packers have dominated doesn't really
matter either.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Because.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Yes, people are already claiming like me that the Packers
are the best team in the league. But it's not
about being celebrated after Week two. It's about being celebrated
the last week in February. The Detroit Lions are a
(04:30):
perfect example of this, a fifteen to two regular season,
just completely annihilating teams throughout the year.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
First round by they lose to the Washington Commanders in
Round one.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Last year's Eagles are also a great example of this.
The Eagles start in the season two and two, and
there were many questions about, oh, Nick Siri the guy,
is he going to be the head coach for.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
The Eagles much longer?
Speaker 2 (05:07):
And then they find a hot streak in the middle
of the season after they pounded some crappy teams and
they win the Super Bowl. It's not about playing your
best football in weeks one and two. It's about playing
your best football at the end of the season. My
favorite team, the Vikings. They started the season five and
(05:29):
zero last year, and I went on my podcast and said,
great start, but it don't matter if you're playing poorly
at the end of the year.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
And sure enough, the Vikings offense at the end of
the year.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
Completely went into the tank. And yes, the Packers have
clearly showed that they are the best team in football
right now, but if you're not playing your best football
at the end of the season, that doesn't matter. And
(06:06):
when I see a team like the Packers playing their
best football of the season right now, beating up on
two playoff teams last year that people had high expectations
on again this year, it makes me question if this
is something that they can keep consistent throughout.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
The regular season.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
There's no way that the Packers are going to play
this great at the end of the regular season and
into the playans because they are playing their best football
of the season right now.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
And my point is it doesn't matter.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
Nobody gives you a Lombardi Trophy for starting a season
two to zero. You get a Lombardi Trophy by playing
your best football in November, December, and January and February
when it gets cold and good start, great positioning. But
(07:05):
there's no way they can sustain this level of success
throughout the regular season. I mean, they kept Jared goffin check,
they kept Jaden Daniels in check, and the Packers offense
has been rolling. Jordan Love two touchdowns, zero picks against
the Lions, Jordan Love two touchdowns, zero picks against the
(07:30):
Washington Commanders. But at the end of the season, when
things get a little bit tight, are they going to
be able to sustain this level of greatness?
Speaker 1 (07:43):
And I don't think so.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
So there's no question the Packers are the best team
in their division and the best team in the NFL
based on what they are producing defensively and what they
are producing offensive. But to sustain this throughout the regular
season and into the playoffs, I think is impossible. But
(08:10):
the way I compare it to would be a couple
getting married. Yes, you get married, you have the party,
you go to the honeymoon, you're in the honeymoon phase.
The honeymoon phase does not continue throughout the rest of
the marriage. You come back and the honeymoon's phase is over.
(08:31):
Right now, the Green Bay Packers, with Michael Parsons and
their spectacular defense and their offense that's clicking on all cylinders,
they're all in the honeymoon.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
Phase right now.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
But I don't think they can continue this phase throughout
the end of the season. Just like a honeymoon phase
doesn't continue into the thirtieth year of marriage, I don't
think the Green Bay Packers can continue this phase of
honeymoon throughout the rest of the regular season and into
the playoffs. And I did a podcast a few weeks
(09:02):
ago discussing the Green Bay Packers and the Micah Parsons trade,
and yes, it makes them a better team, obviously, But
I think that what's going to end up happening is
Jordan Love will be exposed at the end of the
season when he is asked to deliver more than what
he's doing right now, when he's asked to take a
(09:27):
leap and become a top five quarterback in the league
that can bring a Super Bowl to Green Bay. I
think that's the time Jordan love gets exposed and the
Packers will fall short of winning a super Bowl and
their victory party, their super Bowl party planning, the parade
(09:50):
plan that is going on right now in Green Bay
is going to be for nothing, nothing, not a zip.
All right, let me tell you about the Hoakland Farms
beef because they have the best rotaste of grades one
hundred percent grass fed beef.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
Hoakland Farms Beef nine four one.
