Speaker 1 (00:00):
No tra Dame football sucks, and on this podcast, I'm
gonna tell you why, but first I need to tell
you about zero rescarpet cleaning. Go to zero res dot
com and get your carpet cleaning done today. Get your
home ready for the holidays with a zero res carpet cleaning.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
You got dirt and grime in your carpets.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
Go to zeros dot com and order your carpet cleaning
now because it is going by fast. Make sure you
tell them you heard about it from the brawl with Timpaul.
To get the best price on your carpet clean today.
Zero res. Spell it forwards or backwards. That spells the
same Nodred Dame ops out of playing a ballgame after

(00:46):
they didn't get what they wanted, which was to be
a part of the top twelve in the college football playoff.
They got outed, so they outed themselves. No tre Dame
football sucks. What kind of lesson are you teaching your
college athletes.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
In this moment?

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Notre Dame is acting like a two year old child
that doesn't get what they want and storms off into
the corner and misses out on something great.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Playing in a ball game is an.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Opportunity to showcase your program and to teach your players
and coaches and athletic department to say, you know what,
we didn't get what we wanted, so instead we're going
to play and we're gonna kick there.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
But if I am a.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
College football playoff committee member and I leave Notre Dame
out and then they opt out of a bowl game,
that confirms my decision to leave them out. That confirms
my decision that, hey, they don't have the class to
play in a bowl game. And if you want changes
made in the future, do you think opting out of

(02:04):
the ball game is going to make those changes? Or
do you think playing in a ball game dominating your
opponent and let's say James Madison gets roasted, do you
think that might make the committee think to itself, hmm,
maybe we made a mistake not letting Notre Dame in.

(02:25):
But instead they leave them out. Notre Dame dups out
and the conclusion is, yeah, I guess you don't deserve
to be in it if you can't handle failure with class.
I'm sure Notre Dame football has NFL players on their
roster that will go on to the next level and play.

(02:47):
But I guarantee you out of the many people that
suit up in a fighting Irish uniform, there is at
least several that want to play one more football game.
And let's just be honest about this. They lost to
Miami the first game of the year by a field goal.

(03:11):
It was either Miami or Notre Dame. They looked at
the head to head matchup and Notre Dame lost the
head to head matchup. The committee made the right decision
and Notre Dame is handling this situation.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
Like a boy that didn't get what they wanted.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
They are disrespecting the game and not being a good
example to the rest of the players. You know what,
in the future, if you don't get what you want,
just go cry in a corner. This was a great
chance for the athletic director or head coach, maybe for
them to come together and say, we didn't get what

(03:52):
we wanted. It's frustrating, it's disappointing. It can still be
all those things. You can still be angry and frustrated,
you can still be upset by the committee's decision. But
here's what you also can do. You can separate the two.
You can be angry, frustrated, disappointed, and upset, but also
still suit up to play in a bowl game, to

(04:16):
allow your seniors to play one more football game for
a program that they sweat blood and tears for. But no,
you're gonna make it about yourself because you think it's
not fair. This was an opportunity to show perseverance through

(04:37):
a situation that you didn't really like that unfolded. But
what you could have done is look yourself in the
mirror and said, yep, I get it.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
We lost to Miami, We lost to Texas A and m.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
We started the season zero and two, and the committee
left us out.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
You look at the rest of their schedule.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
They lost to their two best opponents all season long,
and they beat usc twentieth ranked, They beat Pittsburgh twenty
second ranked. At the moment, who did you beat? You
don't deserve to be in. And now, because you're handling
this like such a baby. If I'm on the committee,

(05:25):
I'm actually proud.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Of my decision. You confirmed to me that

Speaker 1 (05:31):
You can't handle a loss with class that you don't
deserve to be in.
