Speaker 1 (00:11):
You're listening to the Buck Sexton Show podcast, make sure
you subscribe to the podcast on the iHeartRadio app or
wherever you get your podcasts. Airports calling ground stops because
the government shutdown chaos, the Schumer shutdown is now starting
to have some bite. This is gonna get ugly, folks,

(00:32):
as I talk to you here, we have JFK Airport,
Nashville Airport, a bunch of airports are calling ground stops
going into the weekend, meaning there's no flights taking off
because they don't have the staffing. Notably they don't have
the air traffic controllers, but also I believe TSA is
experiencing shortages too. And for what Why is all this happening?

(00:55):
Because Democrats are nuts, because Chuck Schumer doesn't want to
lose to the left wing of his party, because Hakeem
Jeffries doesn't know what he's doing. So we are left
with this a government that is actually now running out
of money in a real way to do things that
we want it to do. And I just hope that

(01:17):
the Trump administration the Republicans in Congress make this case
as loudly as possible to the American people. This was
entirely avoidable. There was no reason for this. This was
done in bad faith by these Schumer Democrats. They have
decided that they're going to hold a continuing resolution a

(01:38):
funding of the government hostage. Many times Republicans have said,
all right, let's go, let's just fund the government for
a period of time here and we can figure out
what else needs to be figured out. Democrats think that
they should be able to dictate governance when they're in
the minority, so they are willing to sabotage the operations
of government in order to get their way. This cannot

(02:02):
be rewarded. You can't you know, you can't negotiate with terrorists.
We actually, unfortunately do end up negotiating with terror sometimes.
You know, look a situation with hamas this happens. But
generally speaking, you don't want to reward terrors for the
stuff that they're doing. And that is absolutely the case
if the Republicans were to cave on this issue. I

(02:25):
think that what you're seeing is Democrats trying to show
going into this election that they are just doing something
to stick a thumb in the eye of the Trump administration,
anything to show that they despise Donald Trump. They will
do whatever they can do thwart his agenda, and even

(02:48):
if that means doing something like this, which you would
think should be so self defeating for Democrats. You know,
they're talking about an end of SNAP funding and how
bad this is going to be. Well, then they should
just open up the government. You know. I just I
heard from Randon Divine that there are stores now, the

(03:13):
grocery stores that are going to be employing or deploying
extra security over the weekend or going in the next
week because they're worried that there could just be people
showing up and just taking food. You know, there's a
whole broader conversation to be had here. Forty million Americans
are on food assistants. Forty million Americans. What is going on?

(03:39):
What is the actual status of all these people that
are getting this they call it SNAP now Supplemental Nutritional
Assistance program. That is the most euphemistic. It's food stamps,
it's food welfare. That's what it is. Now. There are
cases where people should have access to that, and I'm
glad that they have it. I'm not against any safety net.

(04:01):
You know, the original safety nets you go back one
hundred years in this country. You know, The original idea
of safety nets was really for widows and all orphans,
people who had been through something terrible through no fault
of their own. In society's like, look, we've got to
support these people. And it has now expanded to illegal
show up, want free healthcare, free food, free housing, free everything.

(04:24):
Don't even speak English, and then they make more demands
of us too, the American people, and I think people
have just we've just had enough. We've said that this
is this is crazy. Forty million Americans on food stamps.
Trump administration government ordered to pay foodstamp benefits during shutdown.
A federal judge ordered this just came in. Ordered the

(04:47):
Trump administration to continue paying for foodstamps during the shutdown.
Forty two million people set to run out of food.
The judge ordered the distribution as soon as possible. This
is not in the purview of this judge. It was
the second of two rulings the span of an hour
that found the administration acted unlawfully after it refused to

(05:09):
tap an emergent see reserve and acted by Congress and
totaling the billions of dollars to sustain the critical anti
hunger program. Remained unclear if for when foodstampce was actually
reached the forty two million people. So some judge is
the president now is that how this goes? Decision to
halt the snap benefits was unlawful? Well is the decision

(05:32):
for Democrats not to fund the government unlawful? Like? Where
does this judge think that her authority stops? Congress has
put money in an emergency fund? Judge Talwani said, it's
hard for me to understand how this isn't an emergency
when there's no money. There's money if Democrats open the government.
Democrats are holding the hostages. It is not up to

(05:53):
the Trump administration to come up with new and creative
ways to make the people that are going to suffer
because of Democrats not suffer because Democrats refuse to do
what they should do. And now you got all these
all these air traffic controllers and TSA agents that are
not showing up. I mean, this is gonna get this

(06:13):
is going to get messy. It is one hundred percent
of the Democrats. All right. Our sponsor here is Paradigm Press.
AI is changing the world we live in. And the
investment in AI going on right now is just astonishing.
And there's huge opportunities ahead. This is why I started
a newsletter called Money and Power. I want you to
understand the politics and the economics that go into AI

(06:35):
and the investment opportunities that it presents and something that
I'm calling Manhattan Project too, because that's how big it is.
And I get my infos you know, from DC insiders,
from the tech titans, from people who have great Wall
Street access and connections and bring it all together. You
need to check this out. Subscribe to Money and Power.

Insider twenty twenty five dot com is where you go
for this Insider twenty twenty five. That's Insider twenty twenty
five dot com, paid for by Paradigm Press. And yeah,
this shutdown, man, this is gonna get This is gonna

(07:19):
get nasty. This is gonna get ugly really soon. Here.
And you know, these two federal judges saying that that
SNAP benefits have to be have to be paid. These
federal unters just don't have the ability to take over
the government because they're a bunch of libs and they

(07:40):
think that the rules don't count anymore. The laws don't
count anymore. It's just madness. It really is, all right.
You know, by the time a lot of you are
listening to this, it'll be over the weekend and it'll
be more early voting going on. I voted here in
Miami Beach for Mayor Minor to stay in his role
because I think he's done a great job. I'm hoping
that we continue with his very sane governance of where

(08:02):
I live, city of Miami Beach. But for those of
you in New York City, I think, unfortunately the numbers
are looking pretty bleak with this Mom Donnie guy as
in he's gonna win, and Cuomo is not a very
good second option anyway, So this is this is likely
to end badly. The one that I'm holding out hope
for is Chitarelly. I think Chitterarelly. I'm gonna tell you

(08:24):
this now. I think Chitarelly's gonna pull it out. It's
neck and neck right now. I think Jack Chitarelli's gonna
win the governor's race in New Jersey. I'm calling it.
I'm calling it right here. I see it happening. New Jerseyans.
You're smart, you know, what's enough of You are smart,
at least you know what's up. You know you're gonna
make I know you're gonna make the right decision, and

(08:46):
you're gonna get Jack Chitarelli because you know, these democrats,
I swear they just make everything worse. I don't know
how to say, they just make everything worse when they
especially the governors, that they are bad at running things
because they're not good at making decisions, because they don't
believe in accountability. And it's just gonna make things more expensive,

(09:08):
more dysfunctional, more focus on you know, DEI nonsense, and
you know, trans rights and all this stuff, unless you
get Chitarelli in there. But I really think Chiarelli's going
to be in a position to pull this off. I'm
very hopeful. The other thing I got on the radar
here is the possibility of Trump hitting sites inside of

(09:28):
Venezuela military sites. Let's be honest about this. I just
want to be honest about this. And Trump has done
great stuff on the national security front, international affairs. This
trippy just came back from in Asia. He's got great
trade deals going, good framework set up with China. Has
to be some trust and verify. But our relationship with

(09:49):
South Korea, a relationship with Japan is incredibly strong, and
those are great countries, great peoples in those countries. And
Trump's coming back now. The possibility of getting involved in
a Venezuela thing is very real. I don't know what
happens if we start blowing up the mil terry and

(10:10):
governmental infrastructure such as it is, it's in disrepair. But
if we do this in Venezuela, because really we have
to want there to be regime change, blown up drug
labs is not going to stop anything, and the short
term it'll stop some drugs. Fine, that's why we're blowing
up these ships in international water. But going after military
sites in Venezuela. Are we gonna have a coup here?

(10:34):
Is that the plan? I think there should be a
little bit of honesty with the American people. If that
is the plan. Maybe it's not. Maybe we're just going
to show them that this is not going to be
able to continue to go on the way that it is.
But I am watching this, and I'm watching it closely,
and I certainly have my concerns about where this is
going in Venezuela. Trump has done a great job of

(10:57):
being generally non interventionist. When he has used military force,
it has been successful and limited, successful with a purpose
and limited in scope. Maybe that's going to be the
case in Venezuela if we start hitting those sites. But
we have to keep that in mind. Our sponsor is

The number of unborn babies at risk of abortion remains
very high in this country every day. But there's something
you can do about this. You the pro life community.
At each preborn clinic, there are efforts every day to
save the lives of tiny babies, and those have helped

(12:22):
save sixty seven thousand babies in the last year alone.
With your support, they think they can get past seventy
thousand babies saved. What an incredible milestone. I've been to
the Preborn Clinic here in Hyalia, Miami to see the
godly work they do day in and day out. And
the way they do this is starting off that mom
with an ultrasound, she lets rather the preborn, lets that

(12:45):
mom meet the baby in her womb, and then the
choice for life becomes so much more apparent, so much easier.
That ultrato costs twenty eight dollars. Would you consider a
donation today to Preborn If you can make a gift
in that amount, that would be fantastic for some of
you who have done incredibly well and truly believe in
the pro life cause, And maybe you're nearing that part

(13:06):
of the year where you're considering a large charitable or
tax deductible DONATET Nation, consider twenty eight hundred dollars. You
can do it. Twenty eight hundred dollars. That would be
a hundred babies that you would be helping to save.
To donate securely, dial pound two fifty and say the
keyword baby. That's pound two five zero say baby, or
