Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to today's edition of The Clay Travis and Buck
Sexton Show podcast. Second hour of The Clay Travis and
Buck Sexton Show gets going right now, Thanks for being
with us. The Friday big story, of course, was the
Martha's Vineyard migrant situation. And they're already gone. They removed,
(00:21):
dare I say, deported from the island and moved to
Cape cod by the military. Now, somehow that's fine, but
offering them a free flight to an idyllic, crime relatively
crime free paradise of Martha's Vineyard where the average home
costs over a million dollars, that was human smuggling, human traffic,
(00:44):
aim and libs. They were in a penny, you could
tell because of how stupid their criticisms of this were
Governor Rhonda Santis making a lot of headway here and
pointing out that this gets them mobilized much more in
this Biden White House. Then the five million illegals who
have flooded the country while Biden was president. When I
(01:06):
heard that the president is scrambling to get his cabinet
together to try to address the fact that you have
governors who are helping to relocate illegal aliens to sanctuary cities. Now,
he didn't scramble to get his cabinet together when we
had millions of people illegally pouring across the southern border.
(01:28):
He didn't scramble to get his cabinet together when you
had fifty three migrants die in some trailer in Texas
because they were neglected by the federal government. It's only
when you have fifty illegal aliens end up in a
very wealthy, rich sanctuary enclave that he decides to scramble
(01:49):
on this I mean is it is a very interesting comparison.
I think, I think a very important one, that about
fifty people die of asphyxiation illegal migrants in a truck
because of the massive smuggling operations going on. Media talked
about that for a few hours, then moved on to
something else. Fifty migrants perfectly safe, healthy, fine, everything's fine,
(02:12):
just given a free flight to Martha's vineyard, and all
of a sudden, the lives realize their hypocrisy is being exposed,
although they don't really care about hypocrisy. I always tell
everybody this, and there's a national emergency. The mayor of DC,
I mean, just so ever, understand the mayor of New York,
the mayor of DC, the mayor of Chicago have all
complained about the illegal migrants coming into their cities as
(02:35):
a result of the buses or flights paid for by
other states. Here is DC's Mayor Muriel Bowser. We're not
a board of town. We don't have an infrastructure to
handle this type of a level of immigration to our city.
But we will will create a new normal here in
our infrastructure and have a humane welcome for people and
(02:57):
an efficient you know service prohibition. But we don't have
the ability or not Texas, okay, kick click. First of all,
this idea that border towns have the ability, well, this
is not about processing migrants when they first enter the
country illegally. That's a border patrol issue and an ice issue.
This is where do they go to live inside the
(03:18):
United States along the border. A lot of them stay
there for a period of time or stay close to
the border. There's no special reason McCallan, Texas doesn't have
some special plan in place. El Paso, Texas doesn't have
some special plan in place to deal with the flood
of migrants. That her analysis would make sense if suddenly
(03:39):
a team of Haitians was arriving on the Potomac River
to enter into the United States for the first time. Right,
that would be analogous because suddenly you have to process
all of these illegal immigrants and associated aspects with that.
It's not what's going on at all. What is going
on is it takes a pen prick of the people
(04:00):
illegally crossing the border. And as we are speaking to
you today, there will be eight thousand people who will
enter in illegally on average right now every single day
between now and when the election takes place in fifty days.
Probably will taper off some in the winter, as typically
happens as the weather changes, and then it typically kicks
(04:22):
up again in the spring, running into the summer all
over again. And as you pointed out, Buck, and we've
said on this show for some time, over five million
illegals we believe have entered into the country since Joe
Biden became president, including over two million in the last
year along the border. These numbers are out of control.
(04:42):
And the only way that the border gets talked about
in any way is if there are illegal immigrants being
shipped to Washington, d C. New York City, Chicago, and
now Martha's Vineyard, and I believe what should happen is
they should put these be immigrants on airplanes and fly
(05:02):
them into the wokest enclaves in the United States, the bluest,
the most left wing, and let people understand what is
occurring in Texas and Arizona. And what I would say
to you, Bucke speaking of the election, Carry Lake is surging,
and I don't know if you saw this poll that
came out on She's now got I believe it was
(05:24):
a four point lead in the state of Arizona. We
Masters is right on the edge with Mark right there
with Mark Kelly, and obviously we believe Greg Abbott's gonna
win comfortably. I think Dallas Morning News had him up
eight or nine points in Texas Overbados. Still need people
to vote in all those things, but there's a lot
of those border race elections in Texas and an Arizona
(05:47):
Buck that I think are going to get decided to
a large degree because of our failures at the border.
I think Blake Masters has a great chance. Carry Lake's
gonna and Abbot's gonna win. The Myra Flores contingent down
along the border, I think has a very good chance
to win as well, just based on border security, and
it's it's amazing to see the way that this completely upended.
(06:09):
I mean this this through the the liab apparatus, the
Democrat Biden regime into a panic. And it's really just
because people see what's going on. You're not supposed to
know about the illegal flows into these communities, and so
when it becomes visible, when it is a because there's
there are millions of illegals in places like in the
(06:31):
total places like New York and Los Angeles and Chicago.
I mean there are literally millions of illegal aliens already
living in those places. But when there is an awareness
of the daily influx of more and more and more,
and by the way, those numbers are over decades. The
Biden administration has done five million in two years. It
(06:52):
is the public awareness of what's happening that is the
political risk for Democrats. That's why they're freaking out about this.
And also the fact that turns out when you have
an area that the Democrats are used to being not
so diverse, very wealthy, and a place that they go
to get away from crime, Libs go to get away
(07:13):
from this. Natucket at the Hampton's, the Vineyard, you know, Malibu, California,
the Delaware Shore by the way for DC, the Maryland
and Delaware Shore is full of the DC elites, you know,
by the way. To your point, I think those places.
Delaware is supposed to be next, but it needs to
be not just Dela, you know, not dropping them off
in Wilmington. There should be bus loads of illegal migrants
(07:35):
dropped off in in the fancy beach town where Biden
has his home. I mean, there should be people Rehobot
Beach is. Yeah, they should have people dropped there, so
there's an awareness of this. But I thought this is
funny too, Clay that the CNN headline, I'm sure you
saw this this I'm reading the headline they enriched US
(07:57):
migrants forty four hour visit lead indelible mark on Martha's vineyard.
They panic, they get them out as soon as possible.
They're like, oh my gosh, we don't have the resources
for this. And then they start writing self this was
at CNN self congratulatory. See how welcoming and great we are,
and wow, what an amazing impact they had on us
(08:19):
for the one day we let them live on our island.
Lives their kryptonite, I'm telling you, is mockery everybody. Hypocrisy, yes,
that's a constant with them, but mockery of their lunacy
is critical. They hate when their intelligence is questioned. And
let me just hit you with this. Why the Martha's Vineyard,
I think crystallized for so many people out there, left
(08:41):
wingers have been taking a free ride virtue signaling woke
policies without having to cash any checks predicated on what
they are endorsing. And let me explain what I mean
by that. Defund the police overwhelmingly the province of woke
white people who do not have to live in communities
that are besieged, typically by crime. Open borders. Oh, you
(09:05):
love the idea of illegal immigrants and open borders and
people being able to go wherever they want until the
consequences of open borders come to where you are. Think
about shutting down schools, remote work. All of these policies
that have been advocated by woke white people are a
disaster for average people in America. Most people aren't fortunate
(09:29):
enough to be able to shift from going to an
office to working from home and not have their protect
productivity impacted. Most people do not have the luxury of
being able to put their kids in private school and
hire expensive tutors while lecturing all of us about the
importance of shutting down schools to keep kids safe. Same
thing when it comes to border security, same thing when
(09:52):
it comes to crime. Democrats are overwhelmingly the party of
woke white people right now. Woke white people drive almost
every policy that Democrats are putting into place. That's who
I believe should be overwhelmingly being attacked right now by Republicans.
(10:14):
The least liked people in America today are the woke
white people who lecture you on what jokes you can make,
where your kids can go to school, whether your kids
have to wear masks, and they do it while looking
down their nos that you, claiming that they are loaded
with virtue. And to me, what Ronda Santis did on
(10:34):
the Martha's Vineyard trip was puncture that woke cocoon that
surrounds all these super wealthy people who claim that they're
better than all of us. What are the I mean,
I really want to every understand this, these migrants, the
fifty Margarets and Martha's Vineyard and the stuff the Libs
were saying last week because all, this is human trafficking.
Gavin Newsom, we should talk about this. He's saying he's
straight up running for president if Biden doesn't, And we
(10:57):
need to play the audio of Biden suddenly saying, yeah, hey,
maybe I don't. Maybe I'm not going to run. So
we'll come back into that. Gavin Newsom, I dude, he
is just endless ambition and shamelessness. So you know, trust me,
if he can get a lane to run for presidents,
he will absolutely do it. But he's trying to pick
a fight with Governor Rond De Santis over this, saying
(11:18):
there should be an investigation to kidnapping. These migrants were
already let free into the United States, they were already processed.
They were given a free ride to Martha's Vineyard. People
are saying that they were induced to go there under
false pretenses. Give me a break. What are the false pretenses?
It gonna give you a free flight to Martha's Vineyard?
I mean, give me a break. But also this notion that,
(11:38):
and this goes to what the DC mayor says, we
don't have the resources for this. What do they mean
There's there's plenty of that they couldn't figure out fifty
beds and hot meals for fifty individuals for a few
days on Martha's Vineyard. It seems very obvious to people
watching this, No, there's something else at work here. They
don't want their idyllic island to be a place that
(12:01):
has to deal with the social services costs and also
just the changing of their little society on the vineyard
That would occur if not just one migrant flight, but
a lot of migrant flight showed up there, no doubt,
And that's exactly why the hypocrisy is punctured there. And
(12:21):
we're gonna continue to talk about this. But Gavin Newsom,
who is leading the charge for the woke White Brigade,
is effectively letting it be known. I even think he's
putting pressure on Joe Biden not to run and that
he's going to take on Kamala Harris will tell you
about that next. But in the meantime, if there's one
thing you'll wish you had when peanut butter hits the fan,
(12:43):
obviously euphemism there. It's an emergency food, just like Gun's
gold and Ammo. Emergency food is a prudent investment, no
matter what. Something as simple as a weather related disaster.
Look what's happening right now with Hurricane Fiona and Puerto
Rico can knock out the food supply chain for long
periods of time. My Patriots supply nation's largest emergency food
(13:03):
company currently offering a twenty percent discount on their popular
three month emergency food kit. This is breakfast, lunch, dinners,
drink snacks, three solid months per person. You can rest
easy when you have this kit by your side, and
at twenty percent off, it's too good of an offer
to pass up. Sail in soon, however, go to Prepare
(13:25):
with Clay and Buck dot com to grab the deal
before it goes away. Get your twenty percent savings at
Prepare with Clay and Buck dot com. Prepare with Clay
and Buck dot com. Welcome back in Clay, Travis Buck
Sexton show. All right, we told you this was going
(13:45):
to happen. We told you that Gavin Newsom. If you remember,
one of the most disrespectful moves I've seen a long time,
Buck was Gavin Newsom showing up at the White House
the day after Joe Biden left for Europe. It's like
he was measuring the drapes and everything. He was really check,
(14:06):
had his sleeves rolled up, not even wearing a jacket,
just walking around checking out the place that office chairs.
Gotta go. I got something better in mind. So Gavin
Newsom's going to run for president if Joe Biden doesn't run,
and I was a little bit surprised. We'll play this
audio for you in a bit. Joe Biden was directly
asked about twenty twenty four. And I understand because we've
(14:28):
talked to President Trump about this. Their Federal Election Commission
rules that come into effect when you officially announced that
you're going to run for reelection, but when you're in
the White House, it's pretty much presumed that you're going
to And if I remember correctly, Trump basically announced as
early as he possibly could and started fundraising. And we
(14:51):
had Jill Biden, the President's wife, saying that she expected
him to run. But Gavin Newsom has put out the
news to day that he is running. Effectively, The Rap
has a story about this that he will take on
Kamala Harris that if Joe Biden is not running in
twenty four, he is going to run. And you kind
(15:13):
of got this sense because he's been trying to pick
a fight with Rohn de Santis and Buck. I think
there's the possibility that we get a DeSantis versus Gavin
Knewsome throwdown in twenty four. Now, everybody and maybe even
twenty eight, but a lot of people talking about, hey,
Trump Biden reelection battle in twenty four, a repeat of
(15:34):
the election we just had. I don't think it's out
far outside the realm of possibility. If Biden steps down,
I would make Gavin K. Newsom the favorite to be
the Democrat nominee, and I would expect that we would
get Rhn de Santis potentially against him. But here's Biden
kind of sidestep stepping this answer last night with his
(15:54):
sixty minutes interview about whether he's going to run for
re election in twenty four. Sure, are you committed to
again or are there certain conditions that have to be right? Look,
if I were to say to you I'm running again,
all of a sudden, the whole range of things come
into play that I have requirements I have to change
and move and do in terms of election, in terms
of election loss, And this much too early to make
(16:16):
that kind of decision. You say that it's much too
early to make that decision. I take it. The decision
has not been made in your own head. Look, my intentions,
I said to begin with, is that I would run again.
But it's just an intention. But as it affirmed decision
that I run again, that demands to be seen. I
(16:37):
think he's waiting to see what happens in the midterm election,
what the mood of the Democrat Party, what the position
of the Democrat Party is. Because Abiden Abiden white House
that doesn't have a majority in the Senate or the House,
which God willing, this is what we're going to see.
But it's going to be close. If that happens, he
effectively can't get anything done for the next year. So
(16:57):
then it just turns into we're going to go from
this is the nature of our politics the mid term
result to the presidential election in the blink of an eye.
I mean, it's good. It's gonna be a very fast transition,
and then the party is going to have to deal,
you know, with president vacant eyes covers them with aviators
as the guy that's going to be their standard bearer.
(17:21):
I think they're still gonna go for it, but if
the midterm is pretty rough, Clay, they may decide to
do something else. They need to find somebody to blame
if the midterm results don't go well, and the person
they will blame will be Joe Biden, and they will
sweep him out, and Biden will have a relatively easy
excuse to make right buck, He'll be able to say, well,
(17:43):
eighty two years old is too old to be president.
Which is why I think there's the potential of this
De Santis versus Gavin Newsome battle as a real potential hurdle.
Something else I want to talk to you about, folks,
the conversation over abortion, the national debate. It is just
big hinting now. In so many ways, there are actions
by lawmakers in certain states that actually make it easier
(18:05):
and more convenient for expectant mothers to opt for abortion
over life. One organization has been preparing for this time
in our nation's history. It's the Preborn Pregnancy Clinics, who
began their mission over sixteen years ago. They offer support
to women with unplanned pregnancies by offering free ultrasounds. When
an expectant mom hears her baby's heartbeat and sees the
(18:25):
image of her baby on ultrasound, she sees a life
created in God's image, and that's proven to be a
strong and immediate connection that can often lead her to
choose life. You can help today. You can help save lives.
One ultrasound with preborn is just twenty eight dollars. One
hundred and forty dollars could help the rescue five babies
lives To donate, dial pound two fifty and say the
(18:47):
keyword baby. That's pound two five zero and say the
keyword baby. Welcome back to Clay and Buck. So I'm
gonna tell you I'm gonna bring you all do a
little moment this morning than I had. As I've mentioned before, um,
(19:08):
I do not live in say, the free State of Tennessee,
out in the beautiful countryside, waking up every day to
the songs of birds, and I wake up every day
to the songs of random profanity screamed within earshot of
my window and incredibly loud motorcycle gangs. And you know
that's that's just you know how how I roll here
(19:30):
in midtown Manhattan and I'm going from my walk in
the morning, gonna go get a little bit of coffee,
just get things going. And I see two guys and
I got some you know, just just I always take
video of these things, not because I'm gonna post or anything,
just because if someone says, oh, you know, you didn't
see this, you're lying. Two guys who seem to be vagrants, shirtless.
(19:53):
One of them is pants basically coming off his rear
end entirely throwing full t trash cans at each other,
like lifting full trash cans. What time of day is this.
It's like eight am, nine o'clock in the morning. Yeah,
this is right next to Times Square. Couldn't be more crowded,
couldn't have more people on the streets. You One of
(20:15):
them is lifting it over, throws it at the other guy.
Turns out a full trash can kind of unwieldy, so
he misses the guy weapon. The other guy picks up
a trash can, throws it at the guy, and then
you know, one guy takes kind of an ill timed
swing at the other and then they're screaming, cursing profanity.
They're shirtless. There are tourists everywhere, there are cops across
(20:39):
the street. I took a photo of this as well,
just in case, because what the libs love to do
is whenever anyone tells a story like this, they go, oh,
it didn't really happen. You're lying, just you know, to
troll because they're cowards and their morons. So all this
happens this morning in probably the most crowded, walked through, traveled,
and police heavy place you will find in New York City.
(21:03):
Trash all over the streets, you know, because of the
empty I mean, you know, the whole corner is full
now of trash. They just got thrown out everywhere. Cops
don't do anything. And then I just saw earlier earlier
today as well, there's this group citizens I think it's
called Citizens for Sanity, and they're starting to run billboards
with things like they're obviously being sarcastic. If you have
(21:23):
a problem with getting mugged, you're the problem. Yeah, you know,
because they really have to dig into this, They really
have to get into the mentality of the Libs, the left,
the people who the Democrat Party caters to now, the
people who watch MSNBC, I mean, the true believers of
the left. This stuff that happens in major cities all
(21:44):
across and this is of course a minor thing there,
you know, shootings and rapes and horrible things going on
but it's just indicative of the lawlessness, the disorder, and
what people have to deal with in their day to
day Clay, the position of the Democrat Party really is effectively, Look,
this is just the price of equity in society. Can't
(22:05):
lock people up. Need to just accept that you're gonna
have people assault you, people yelling profanity at you when
you walk down the street. And the other part of
this is and obviously I'm very fired up about this.
This happens to me, it happens with other people all
the time. Here. There are people who follow you around
on the street in New York. Now it used to
be mostly they do this to tourus. Now they'll do
it to anybody, and they'll say, you know, give me
(22:27):
a give me a dollar, and if you don't, they start,
you know, saying, hey, talk to me, why won't you talk,
and they try to force a confrontation. I sit here.
I know people listening this across the country might say, oh, well,
you should square off, you should get into that guy's face.
The reality of New York City is that if somebody
verbally and even physically threatens me and I punched them
(22:48):
in the face, and they are a minority, and the
narrative becomes that somehow there was some kind of an incident,
somebody said something I could not trust that I wouldn't
get sent to Rikers Island, that a jury of my
peers in New York City. Look what happened to the
bodega owner. Yeah, he was assaulted, he defended himself, and
(23:08):
the prosecutor charged him with the murder. This is democrats
cities in America today. What you're speaking of is what
I was reading about this weekend Wall Street Journal. I
don't know how many people out there there saw it,
but it was an incredibly well east in the Saturday edition.
Do you know what city in America has the highest
homicide rate per capita in America? Right now? It's New Orleans. YEP,
(23:33):
that's right, New Orleans forty one homicides per one hundred
thousand residents right now. The homicide rate we talk a
lot about Chicago eleven point five per one hundred, So
New Orleans is four times as deadly per capita as Chicago, La.
New York, where you're talking about Buck right now is
(23:54):
two point four per one hundred thousand, So New Orleans
twenty times the murder rate of New York City right now.
And I know there's a lot of people in New
York City saying, well, New York City is not safe.
Think about how unsafe New Orleans is. New Orleans homicides
rate so far this year is up a hundred and
(24:15):
forty one percent compared to twenty nineteen. Shootings I'm reading
from the Wall Street Journal up one hundred percent, carjackings
two hundred and ten percent, armed robberies up twenty five percent,
and the homicide rate is on track to be the worst,
the worst of all time. So this is emblematic. The
(24:36):
reason why we sometimes will pull random cities and use
them as examples here is because it's representative. We talked
about Memphis, the Eliza Fletcher murder, which I should update
people on. The guy who murdered her back had an
outstanding rape charge against him. The Memphis police are so
understaffed that they don't have time to investigate rate, and
(25:01):
so as a result, that guy was still on the street.
He was out of prison early, already raped another woman,
and now was still out on the street to be
able to kill this Eliza Fletcher, mother of two, who
was out for an early morning jog. This is happening
everywhere and the result, the reason is defund the police.
This all has exploded in the wake of George Floyd.
(25:23):
We demonized police, We took him off the streets. A
lot of police have retired. These are underfunded, understaffed, underresource
police departments, and the murder rate skyrocketing everywhere. What kind
of society have we become where you have George Floyd murals, Yes,
sainthood of George Floyd, the martyrdom and canonization of a
(25:48):
career criminal and drug addict who once held a loaded
gun at the belly of a pregnant woman and threatened
to murder her and her unborn child during a home robbery.
There are murals of him, and the whole world knows
his name. And and you know, idiot libs walk around
talking about how they supported BLM, you know when they
(26:08):
live in super safe neighborhoods. Of course, you know they
don't actually have to deal with the criminality that exists
when you undermine police in this way. There's no Eliza
Fletcher murals going up, and there won't be. And we
all know that she was a beautiful, wonderful person by
all accounts, a mom, a wife, an inspiration to people.
(26:29):
There's no murals going up to her, And I'm sorry,
I do think that we need to ask at some point,
what kind of a society are we? Murals to George Floyd? Really?
Statues statues of George Floyd. Really, it's a bad person,
but we're gonna worship him now, as though there's something
to be taken from this, Eliza Fletcher. You won't hear
the media talking if they're already not talking about her,
(26:50):
will talk about her, will update the case. They've entirely
moved on, and they moved on from so many things
over the here in New York City over the weekend.
I meant, I didn't send it to you, Clade and
ruin your Saturday. There's some maniac who gets into a
fight in a McDonald's on De Lancey Street. I've spent
a lot of time down in that part of Manhattan.
I know De Lancey Street pretty well. And he gets
(27:12):
into a fight. He pulls out an axe I saw
you didn't see this, and start swinging in at people,
threatening to bludgeon and murder them to death, breaks glass,
breaks tables, swinging an axe around in a McDonald's in Manhattan,
in New York City. Does anybody want to guess how
long he was held in custody? A couple of hours
(27:34):
he's out. What's gonna happen when they actually make him
sit in front of a judge in a few weeks,
You're gonna have some bullcrap whimp da go in there
and be like, oh, well, you know, we don't want
to be too hard. You know, they're just gonna all
mealy mouthed garbage about how this guy we don't want
to make an example of him, and equity and social
(27:55):
justice and this axe wielding lunatic will be back on
the streets. Do you think any libs will bab win
in six months he actually does do something horrible if
that happens, does it? Wanted to be surprised if that happens. No, No,
you won't to even get a story about it for
very long. There'll be a short story. I mean, think
about your example, and this is New York City, and
you know better than me, that's a decent neighborhood theoretically
(28:17):
in New York City. Yes, the multimillion dollar apartments on
Delancey Street, Yes, that's what I thought. But I thought
that was the area. The dude had an axe. The
dude had an axe, swinging it around, destroying the interior
of a McDonald's. And he doesn't even hardly have to
be behind bars for more than a couple and he's
(28:38):
threatening murder folks. When you're swinging an axe at somebody
and they're terrified and they're cringing in fear, and you're
swinging in and breaking the table in front of them,
you were threatening to do serious, grievous bodily harm to them.
He was released right away to just ever so the
DA here Alvin Bragg, and the and the Mayor of
New York City, Eric Adams. These people are reckless morons.
(29:00):
Think about the kind of person who has an acts
in New York City in the first place. There's not
I mean there's very few. If you're not building, carries
it just in case he gets into dispute with somebody.
I'm saying, like, this is a sign that you're probably
not very safe. And if I just want everyone understand
if I were to get a concealed carry permanent New
(29:21):
York City, which now who knows whether this can even
be done or not, but I walk into Times Square
with it, which they've decided as a gun free zone.
That'll be as a person who you know surface country
the CIA has weapons trading, has never been convicted or
even accused of a crime in his entire life. Kathy
Hokel would probably throw a parade about how they're arresting
(29:42):
me for firearms violations. They took a weapon of war
off the streets. These people are not just stupid and dishonest,
they are dangerous. These leaders of these democrats cities. What
they're doing is monstrous. People are suffering. Terrible things are happening,
and it's happening because they refuse to take accountability. They
(30:03):
refuse to admit that the honoring of Saint George Floyd
and all the other nonsense that they pushed as a
result of it has created despair and murder and destruction.
Think about New Orleans for a minute. As bad as
Chicago is and how often you see Chicago on the news,
(30:23):
New Orleans has a four times of Chicago murder rate
per capita. That's off the charts, that's third world, alike.

to meet their age requirements. That's why Chalk they're thinking
about sending big boxes full of testosterone to the Biden
White House so they can't grow spine, actually enforce the border,
(31:10):
keep eight thousand people from walking across the border every
single day in the South. How about enforce some spine
out in our America's cities. We're just talking about New Orleans,
all of the ravages that are occurring all over this
country right now. A lot of people need a lot
(31:32):
of manhood out there, and Chalk will hook you up.

We mentioned earlier Bill Maher on his HBO show when
after the concept of judging historical characters based on current conditions,
(33:42):
other words, five hundred thousand years ago, a couple of
hundred years ago. Oh, let's judge this person based on
modern sensibilities. And one of the things that has become
paramount is the idea of the United States is a
horrible racist country and therefore has no legitimacy behind its government.
Buck and I talked about this, I believe, to finish
off the hour to day about the history of slavery
(34:02):
and the fact that it existed everywhere. Bilmore did a
good job in his monologue. Listen to this. Everybody who
could afford one had a slave, including people of color.
The way people talk about slavery these days, you'd think
it was a uniquely American thing that we invented in
sixteen nineteen. But slavery throughout history has been the rule,
(34:23):
not the exception. The Sumerians, the Egyptians, the Greeks, Romans,
the Arabs, British, the early Americans. The Holy Bible is
practically an owner's manual for slaveholders. The word slave comes
from slav because so many Slavic people were enslaved, and
(34:44):
they're as white as the Hallmark Channel. Who do you
think gathered the slaves from the interior of Africa to
sell to slave traders Africans who also kept their own slaves.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Humans
are not good people, all right. So that's a pretty
(35:04):
good history of I didn't know about that. He went
into the etymology of the word slave there, but yes,
that that is. You know. He left out the Aztec Empire,
which was when Cortez arrived not only upon mass slavery
but also mass human sacrifice, including the human sacrifice of
children who were slaves by taking as slaves and then
sacrifice in the most gruesome ways. But you know, indigenous
(35:27):
people were told they're all in harmony with the environment,
and you know it's everyone thinks that that this is
like that they were living in some Disney cartoon before
we arrived. There are other native tribes, by the way,
in this country who also enslaved other native tribes. The
Vikings had a massive or I shouldn't say massive, was
theren't that many of them, but had a long standing
practice of slaves and slavery. This was the constant and
(35:50):
human history throughout all conquests and warfare. But we're only
supposed to talk about it in the context of America. Yep.
And here's the con actually, hardly even talk about buck.
The vast majority of slavery that took place in the
United States was pre the United States, So from sixteen
nineteen to seventeen eighty three, until we became an independent country.
(36:13):
Arguably England would be on the hook for that one
hundred and sixty years or so. We only had slavery
in the United States for eighty years. I remember when
I was in the museum in Charleston that was originally
a slave market that they've turned down into museum. There's
a statistic that people, I think very people know three
percent of Southerners I believe had ninety seven percent of
(36:36):
the slaves. Hardly any Southern soldiers on a per capita
basis in the Civil War actually had slaves. It's a tiny,
tiny percentage. We come back, last hour, Monday edition. Come
