Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to today's edition of The Clay Travis and Buck
Sexton Show podcast. Thursday edition of The Clay Travis and
Buck Sexton Show begins Now, everybody, thanks for joining us.
I'm here as per usual in NYC, my hometown, with
my main man, Clay Travis. We were out on the
(00:20):
town last night. He saw me actually scooter and I
gotta be honest with you. When you hopped on the
scooter and took off, it was hard for me not
to erupt in platter. I mean, to your credit, you
did not how we went to the dinner. Yeah, you
took me into the six hundred square foot apartment. We
call it the Buck Cave, the Buck Cave, and then
we went up on top of your building. Was really nice,
(00:41):
went out to dinner, had a phenomenal time with people
who work on the show. We got a great event
that's going on after the show today for people to
celebrate the one year anniversary of the show. We thank
all of you for hanging out with us. But when
you took off on the scooter, I don't even know
that you know this. Craig who we were out with,
Craig said, every time I see him on that scooter.
(01:03):
I think I should take out a key Man insurance
policy on his life. I gotta tell you we have
producer Greg on the show who has joined the scooter Nation.
Oh no, so I don't know. I don't know what
our patch for our leather jackets is gonna be. Like,
you know, we're gonna be. It's kind of like a
biker gang, but for scooters where you have a little
basket in the front, maybe a little streamers on the side.
(01:25):
But I gotta tell you, very fast way to get
around New York City and everyone's all the cool kids
arrived him. That's right, the scooter Nation. We're growing all
the time. Scooter squad. Now, we got some real news
to talk to you all about some big things going
on today. First of all, Biden almost sounds like he's
taken a page from the Maduro playbook in Venezuela of
(01:45):
shaking down the oil companies. At this point, you know what,
are we going to start hearing about nationalization? Next? He's saying,
produce more for less money. The oil companies are like, dude,
what are you talking about. We'll get into that in
a little bit. Also, Senator ramp Paul joining us here
sue to talk about the testimony that Fauci, who's got COVID,
gave This morning, we'll discuss that Kavala's got a new job.
(02:09):
We're gonna keep you on the edge of your seat.
It's got a new part of the portfolio. I should
say the border thing didn't really go so well, did it.
But well, she's solving all the issues in the country.
She makes all the things not better. But the big
story that I think is getting people fired up, and
it's getting me fired up because mirror images in city
(02:30):
after city, clay all across the country, progressive prosecutor in
New York, crime, violence, all of it gets worse in Houston.
I spoke to our friend Michael Barry about this. Reason
is and now, what's your prosecutor like down in Houston,
progressive prosecutor. They've had huge spike in murders the last
couple of years, the huge spike in shootings Los Angeles,
San Francisco crime through the roof. Gascone is the DA.
(02:54):
Paul Gascone is the DA in Los Angeles, and he
is a progressive prosecutor. He wants to end this mass
incarceration situations. What they all say which just means let
more people out of prison, give them shorter sentences. Overall,
here is the story as we know it right now.
Two police officers were killed yesterday in eastern Los Angeles.
(03:18):
Two El Monte PD officers were shot. Gave their lives,
serving their communities in their country. And what you need
to know about the shooter is that he's a gang member,
a gang member who actually had the name of his
violent gang literally tattooed on his face. He was a
(03:38):
multiple offender. He had burglary charges, drug charges, and a
weapons charge. Now the weapons charge would have triggered under
California law Clay a third strike. This was a felon
in possession of a firearm. And instead of actually going
with a third strike, which is the law in California,
(04:01):
you have to serve real time, Gascone gave him two
years of probation, didn't serve any time in prison for
being a felon gang member in possession of a firearm.
Two police officers are now dead, their wives receiving folded flags,
their children now growing up without fathers, and everyone's looking
at Gascone and saying, these brave men gave their lives.
(04:23):
They shouldn't have been in jeopardy from this gang member
at all. How can anyone think the Democrats are serious
about crime, serious about guns clay when they will literally
violate their own state laws. Prosecutors like Gascone will violate
the laws of their state so that they can go
soft on a hardened gang member. Yeah, this is part
(04:43):
and parcel of the forty million dollars that George Soro
spent to get left wing prosecutors in office who were
not going to prosecute crimes. And you remember, back before
she dropped out as the White House spokespersons in Saki
was mocking Fox News for covering the soft on crime concept.
(05:06):
You remember that interview where she pointed at Fox News
and was like laughing, would we should pull that audio?
So what a soft on crime even mean? Well, this
is what it means, Jen, This is when you have
someone who should be behind bars and takes the life
of our police officers. And on this show, even though
most will not mention them, Michael parodies Joseph Santana. Are
(05:28):
the two police officers who lost their lives because this
gang member killed them, This man who should have been
behind bars. They have these two officers do five young
children between them. So when you start to think about
the consequences of what soft on crime means, it puts
brave police officers in danger. Again. Those guys names Michael
(05:51):
Parodies and Joseph Santana, two LA Area police officers, five
young children between them. Buck, those kids are gonna up
without dads. And those guys. If you saw the video
they were playing it on Fox News, this guy was
trying to attack his wife, who had stabbed his girlfriend,
(06:12):
who had checked into a hotel to try to escape him,
and you can see these officers responding and running into
that hotel room and they were never going to come
out because they got shot. I believe as soon as
they got in there. They did kill him in the
gunfire exchange as well. Whatever silver lining three debts, but
this guy should have never been on the streets of
(06:33):
Los Angeles and this is being replicated all over the
country where violent criminals are not being put behind bars.
Here's the deal. We know that we could solve issues
with violent crime by doing two things. One, put more
police officers on the streets and give them the ability
to do their job. And two, when those police officers
(06:54):
arrest people for committing acts of violence. Put the criminals
behind bars, two steps process that is guaranteed to lower
the overall crime rate everywhere Democrats won't do it, So
the progressive prosecutors have gotten their way and the country
has suffered. And as I've said, even if you live
in a rural area, relatively speaking, there's been a substantial
(07:15):
increase nationwide in violent crime and lots of different crime categories.
Even in rural areas, this has been a nationwide phenomenon.
Wherever Democrats are in charge of the prosecutor's office or
the police department or the mayor's office, you have seen
things get worse. So now we're at the pushback phase.
Now people have recognized this, and that's why the Recall
(07:37):
George Gascon effort. You can go to Recall George Gascon
dot com slash petition. They've reached the five hundred and
sixty seven thousand signatures, but the people behind the petition
effort are saying they need to get to more like
six hundred and fifty to seven hundred thousand because of
signature issues and any problems that may arrive. They want
to make sure they've got a clear margin. So for
anyone who lives in Los Angeles and can be a
(07:58):
part of this. We've got a great listener. Sign up today. Yeah,
go do it today, because what they find is some
of these people falsify signatures and when they go back
and they check them, even if you've reached your target limit,
buck you need to be well over it. Because this
has become a major issue everywhere with these recall petitions,
they will try to falsify them. Go sign up today.
This guy needs to be out of a job. Absolutely.
(08:19):
Gascone has got to go. And I want to be
very clear about how this requires. This is one of
these moments where we're really speaking to and we've got
Democrats who listen to the show we're actually we're actually
bringing over and I keep saying, you know, jump into
the clay and buckpool, the water is warm. These are
Democrats who ousted Gascone. I'm sorry, alskid Boudan in San Francisco.
(08:40):
And it will be largely, not entirely. There's a million
Republicans who live in Los Angeles County. It might even
be more than that now, but there will have to
be Democrats recognizing at some level this goes This is
so reckless and so dangerous that it goes beyond politics.
But also, Clay, how can we take all the lecturing
that we've received about gun and they need to do
(09:00):
with guns and take guns seriously in recent weeks. Don't
you want to stop violence? Why don't you have magazine limitations?
How about getting violent gangbangers found illegally with a firearm
and previous felony convictions. How about locking them up and
not worrying about mass incarceration. That would actually stop violence
on a massive scale, no doubt. And again this is
(09:21):
not a very complicated two part plan. Everybody can steal
it from me. It works. Put more police on the
streets and let them do their job, and put violent
criminals behind bars. Whether you live in a rural area,
whether you live in a city, no matter what state
you live in. Right now, that's what you should be
demanding of everyone who is charged with trying to eliminate
(09:43):
or reduce violence in all of your communities. More cops
on the streets with the ability to do their jobs,
put violent criminals behind bars. This is, unfortunately, like going
back in time. Those of us who remember the high
crimere and buckwere New York City right now doing the
show you've talked about. You remember Time Square before Rudy Giuliani,
(10:05):
massive issues with all sorts of crime everywhere, and then
he came in and he cleaned it up. We know
what works. We just got to implement these policies. We're
gonna be joined by Senator Rand Paul next. He just
had a heck of a confrontation with the said Senator
with Fauci, who was testifying of course he's tested positive
for COVID despite the fact that he's had four COVID shots.
(10:26):
I think you're going to enjoy this conversation with Rand Paul,
Senator from Kentucky. It's coming up in just a moment.
But days like these, when I'm staying in New York
City away from home, I missed them my pillow products,
especially the Giza dream sheets. But I do travel with
my slippers. In fact, my wife is flying into town
for our one year anniversary party, and guess what she
brought her My slippers. She loves them because they are
(10:47):
made from high quality leather suede. They have two layers
in my pillow foam, a layer of impact gel to
ensure all day comfort. These shoes are phenomenally comfortable for
you as you lounge around the house, and for a
limited time you can save ninety dollars on a pair

so order now. Use the promo code Clay and Buck
(11:08):
to receive this incredible limited time offer. Slippers have a
one year warranty sixty day money back guarantee, meaning you
have nothing to lose. My pillow dot Com promo code
Clay and Buck. Go get your slippers and save ninety
dollars today. You can also call eight hundred seven nine
two thirty two sixty nine. There are no studies and
(11:28):
Americans should all know this. There are no studies on
children showing a reduction in hospitalization or death with taking
a booster. The only studies that were permitted, the only
studies that were presented were antibody studies. So they say,
if we give you a booster, you make antibodies. Now,
a lot of sciences would question whether or not that's
(11:50):
proof of efficacy of a vaccine. If I give you
ten or if I give a patient ten mRNA vaccines
and they make protein each time, or they make anambot
each time, is that proof that we should give ten boosters,
doctor Fauci, No, I think that is somewhat of an
absurd exaggeration. So that is the proof that you use,
your committees use that. That's the only proof you have
(12:12):
to tell children to think of boosters that they make animbodies.
So it's not an absarted eat. That is Senator Rand
Paul going after our good friend, doctor Fauci. Senator Rand
Paul joins us. Now doctor Fauci had to testify remotely
because despite four COVID shots, he has tested positive for COVID.
(12:33):
Rand Paul, your, first of all, thanks for joining. A second,
your reaction when you found out that doctor Fauci, who
last year told everyone if they got the COVID shot
they would never get COVID. Obviously that ended up being wrong.
Why should we trust anything this guy says? Well, I
guess if he would have won the COVID goggles or
maybe the COVID earmuffs and the COVID earmuffs I think
(12:54):
really would have protected him, probably, But he had four
vaccines and four masks. He just didn't get the OVID goggles.
But no, I'm glad he's not sick. I means it
can be a serious disease. But I'm glad he's not sick,
but I wish you were more honest. What we found
is is that the vaccine was approved and is being
pushed on your kids, the Booster vaccine, and there's no
(13:15):
evidence that it saves any lives of kids. It's no
evidence that keeps him of hospital. The only evidence they
presented to the committee was that your kid will make antibodies. Well,
if I give your kid a hundred boosters, you'll make antibodies,
or she'll make antibodies every time. That doesn't prove anything.
And that's the point I was making the Fauci is
this is not evidence that the vaccine works. This is
(13:37):
evidence that if you give a mRNA vaccine that causes
the body to make a foreign protein that the body
will react to it make antibodies. It says nothing about
whether it saves lives, and you should do the studies.
The reason they don't do the studies is seventy five
percent of kids have already had this. Many kids have
been vaccinated now, but no kid is dying, No kid
(13:58):
is going to the hospital that's have been vaccinated or
had the infection or both. And there's no reason in
the world to give them a booster, and there is
evidence that the more you vaccinate kids of them getting
an inflammation of the heart called myocarditis. Senator Paul, it's back.
I want to know where you think Fauci and the
Democrat sponsored and assisted health Apparatus wants to take the
(14:21):
vaccination campaign going into this fall. I mean, you're talking
today at the Senate Health Committee. They don't sound at
all to me like they feel chastened at all by
the failures and the poor analysis of what was going
to happen up to this point. What do you think
they're going to do. It's part of an overall philosophy
of elitism. It is about control. Isn't about this pandemic.
(14:44):
It's about control of everything. We've always known they wanted
to control the economic sector, but now we know they
want to control the personal sector too, the decisions that
you make with going to the doctor, the medicines that
you take. And they don't think they need proof anymore.
There were some good, well meaning people on these vaccine boards,
not many, but there was a handful. They quit when
they quit looking at science and they just started sort
(15:07):
of going back to conjecture and the seat of their
pants and just mandating everything. Some of the good doctors quit.
There was a doctor on there who said, there's no
way we'd give a booster two his twenty four year
old male son, because the thing is, there is a
risk factor. The CDC's owned data says that the risk
of getting a heart inflammation after the second vaccine is
about eighty out of a million, So that's not bad.
(15:28):
But the natural state of miocarditis not getting a vaccines
about two out of a million. There's a fortyfold increase
in milcarditis with a second vaccine. And the thing is is, yeah,
it's not very common eighty out of a million, But
if it's your young football player or a chore member
of band member in high school and they get a
vaccine and die from it, I mean, the thing is
(15:49):
it should be the parents choice and ability to look
at the data. And what Fauci admitted today is there's
no data, absolutely zero data saying that if you give
your kid a booster vaccine, third vaccine, that it keeps
them out of the hospital or keeps them from dying.
Why is there no datam Because it's not happening nobody
and post seventy five percent these kids have already had COVID.
(16:10):
No kids that's had COVID is dying. And that's the
information I ask them for released to the American public.
What is the hospitalization rate and the death rate for
kids who've already had COVID seventy five percent of the
kids of had COVID. Does it protect them? If it does,
why are you pushing three vaccines on kids who've already
already got natural immunity. What do you think about some
places that are demanding that people show COVID vaccines four
(16:34):
kids right in order to go to school. There's lots
to talk about this. To me, this is absolute insanity.
I think it's probably going to kick up again as
we get ready for fall and kids come back to school.
What would you tell parents out there about requirements like these,
don't submit to public health tyranny to take your kids
out of the school. If you can go to a
private school, teach them at home, go to another public school.
(16:57):
There are stories I hear every week because I travel
around the country of the moms and dad's coming up
to me and say, we've moved our kids to Florida,
to live with grandparents. We've moved our kids to another
state to get away from public health tyranny, and so
don't submit to this. And this is why we have
to keep fighting. Did the lockdown saves lives? Absolutely not.
We need to keep fighting because there's going to be
(17:19):
another lockdown. You know, we're still locking down for a
disease that largely found. You would probably not know he
had it, except for he's probably undergoing routine testing every
day now because he's seemed Biden. I'll bet you he
did that test because he goes to the White House.
He hasn't really revealed whether it had any symptoms or not.
You know. All we know is he's had four vaccines
(17:39):
and four masks, you know, but we don't know if
he had any symptoms. Senator Paul, he should have tripled
masked and maybe taking the virus a little more. Seriously,
we appreciate you joining us today, sir. Thanks guys. Look
at your next cell phone bill. Tell me if Verizon
AT and T and T Mobile are charging you a
premium fee this month for data you don't use, because
(17:59):
I bet they are, instead of paying eighty nine dollars
a month to your current provider pay just twenty dollars
to pure Talk for what you actually need. Pure Talk
has the same excellent coverage in the same towers and
the same network is one of those three companies. You'll
be on America's most reliable five G network with pure Talk.
You can keep your same number and phone when you
(18:20):
make the switch. I switched over to Pure Talk, keeping
my same number and phone, and now I'm saving seventy
or eighty bucks a month. It really adds up. Service
is the same superior cell service I had before. Haven't
noticed any difference at all. No drop calls, fast data delivery,
unlimited text. You're going to love it. It's time to
start saving money every month. Just like I am, dial
pound two five zero and say Clay and Buck. You'll
(18:42):
save the additional fifty percent off your first month pure Talk.
It shows up on my phone every time I use it.
Now that's what you should be using two Say Clay
and Buck when you dial pound two five zero, save
an additional fifty percent on your first month. Several culprits.
Is Biden and what he's done? And it's not irrelevant,
but it's not and what is that? Well, that is
(19:05):
all spending basically, yeah, text the two trillion dollars of
you and I've talked about a lot that's on the
sidelines halfter. That's government money that we gave people to spend,
and now they're trying to spend it, so you get inflation.
And as we talked about the other day, left to
its own devices, the administration would have proposed another four
trillion dollars. Again, there's Obama's autos are from back in
(19:29):
the day, Steve Rattner, And there's a private equity guy,
very very wealthy individual who's made a lot of money
in the markets, who is saying, yeah, it turns out
that spending too much money as a government, the government's
been too much money caused inflation. Welcome back to clay
Anne Buck. But the economy is not looking like it's
going to get better anytime soon. In the market is
(19:49):
you know, a rough rough spot right now. Four O
one K is getting crushed all over the place. And
let's understand that we were we were told, I mean,
the promise that bide And made to get people to
vote for him was short normalcy and unity. Those were lies.
Right now, you have a White House that's advocating for
some of the most radical, particularly radical social policies we've
(20:11):
ever seen any White House standing behind. But beyond that,
the radical spending. I mean Obama when you remember we
had a full on, a full on financial housing meltdown,
and the big fight was over nine nine hundred billion
in change for the stimulus package. That was the discussion.
(20:34):
And now Biden comes in and spends two trillion dollars
like it's nothing. I mean, that's double what that was.
And it was already added on top of the trillions
in spending that were done in the real depths of
the pandemic in twenty twenty into twenty twenty one. So
they've got problems with this White House they don't know
how to solve. And the place where I think people
(20:56):
are seeing the price. You know, I just spoke to
someone yesterday, Laya one of the guys who works, you know,
in the hair and makeup department at the first where
I do TV, and I said, what is it costing?
Because he drives in and out of the city every day,
and uh, you know, drives sort of standards sedan. What's
it cost He's it costs one hundred dollars to fill
up his gas tank. He's spending. Now, this is New
York City, but one hundred dollars every time. You know,
(21:17):
when you're you're working hard, coming in and out of
your job, and you're spending one hundred dollars on gas,
people recognize that because that's that's running up their bills
and ways that they can start to run into credit
card debt. They can have real problems. There are lots
of stickers, and some of our people out there all
over the country, I'm sure have seen this with Joe
(21:38):
Biden saying I did that, and it's just to see
him pointing right where the gas tax basically, which feels
like a tax constantly is rolling, right. And there are
lots of gas stations that I've been too of late
Buck where I feel like they have capped one hundred
dollars in gas many of their computers, because historically you
(22:01):
wouldn't be able to spend one hundred dollars on gas,
and the concern would be, hey, maybe the pump is
still rolling. Because the first few times I had it
stop automatically at one hundred dollars, I was like, wow,
you know how when you sometimes end on a round
number you're like, oh, that's kind of crazy. I've had
four different times where I stopped exactly one hundred bucks
and my gas tank is not full. But it's because
they have those failsafe, those safeguards which they thought, oh,
(22:24):
we'll set it at a hundred because there never be
a time where you're gonna have to spend over one
hundred dollars to fill up your tank. And there are
a lot of us out there that are having to
spend more than that. And I know that feeling where
you're driving around and you're watching those big numbers up
on the board and you're like, hey, if I go
to this part of town, I can pay twenty cents
less a gallon, but I really need gas right now
(22:44):
to I want to pull in. And you're starting to
do the calculus in the math in your head of
what you're gonna say, And look at the Krogers and
the Costcos and the Sam's Clubs of the world where
people are lining up buck some of these lines now
to get gas. It feels like what I've heard the
nineteen seventies were like when the lines roll all the
(23:06):
way out into the street because people are trying to
save money, by going to some of these gas wholesalers
just to save a little bit of money. It is
an epidemic, and as we say on this show regularly,
you can't overlook it. It is the number one issue.
Everybody wants to talk about abortion, everybody wants to talk
about jan six, everybody wants to talk about every other issue.
(23:27):
The one that resonates is when you can't even fill
your gas tank up for one hundred dollars. You're furious
every time you have to fill up. Almost two thirds
of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, according to CNBC, So
you're living paycheck to paycheck. The average American household income
is roughly fifty k. I forget Jay a little bit more,
but yeah, fifty three, maybe fifty five, something like that
(23:50):
American household income. And so when you start seeing an
extra couple of hundred bucks here and there every bi
weekly paycheck you get coming, I mean extra couple hundred
bucks coming out of your pocket because of the gas price,
people really feel that. And then this brings us to
I don't know if this is like a game show.
We're gonna have to start here, but is it it's
too dumb or too dishonest. I don't know which one
(24:13):
is the case with different individuals in this White House
when it comes to the price of gas, the economy,
the macroeconomic forces, and the inflationary pressures that we're seeing
right now. Because when they say things like we're just
going to seize the gas companies profits, which is what
they're saying, this is like Maduro Chavez stuff. This is
(24:35):
crazy when they say they just need to pump more.
If they're patriotic, they'll just pump more gas. I mean,
here is Karine Jean Pierre for example, play clip eight, Mike.
We are calling on them to do the right thing,
to be patriots here and not to use the war
as an excuse or as a as a reason to
(24:57):
not put to not put out a production, not to
not do the capacity that is needed out there so
that the prices can so that the prices can come down. Okay, clear,
I got ask does Karine Jean Pierre and by extension,
I mean Joe Biden himself. I mean she's speaking for him,
and I think I don't know who knows more about
the economy, her or him. It's for me, it's a
toss up. But do you think she doesn't understand because
(25:21):
she doesn't care to understand, and this White House overall
that the refineries are basically at capacity already and that
to expand capacity would take time and deregulation and encouragement
from the government. Or do they just are they just
lying to everybody like is this ignorance or are they
(25:41):
What does this come down to? First of all, I
would bet on ignorance to a large extent for most
of the Biden administration. But I also think it's just
a desperate attempt to shift to blame. That's what's going on, right,
because what Joe Biden has tried to say is, oh,
we've got the putin price hikes, We've got the putin
(26:01):
gas tax. That hasn't registered, right because Americans don't want
to accept what is a falsehood because already before the
invasion of Ukraine, prices were skyrocketing in this country. And
so there just needs to be something to take the
blame off of the Biden White House. And it seems
(26:22):
to me that they are flailing around trying to find
one that resonates that some people in America are willing
to buy. And the problem with that buck is Joe
Biden ran his campaign uniquely arguing, I will be the
adult in the room. I will be responsible for what
goes on in the White House. And now that everything
(26:44):
has gone awry and everything is collapsing, Buck, what's the
first thing he does? Find someone else who needs to
be considered responsible? And when you're eighteen months into your administration,
for good, ill or fair or unfair, you are responsible
for everything this taking place in this country. And that's
why we're not just going to see a red wave.
We're going to see a red tsunami. There are some
(27:06):
predictions of mind, folks that I hope don't come true.
And we're talking here about the economy. I've been saying recession.
You know, I predicted we'd see turbulent times in the markets,
and we're certainly in those, but we're contending with a
possible recession and things could get really rough for all
of us economically in the months ahead. We see what's
happened in the stock market, commodity markets reacting to the
(27:28):
Ukraine Russia war. Housing market look at a little shaky look.
It's a scary time. So what can you do? Create
a plan to protect your savings accounts, protect your wealth
your four oh one ks. Part of that plan needs
to be buying gold and silver. I've been buying gold

zero four g o ld his answer to all this misery.
He tries to tell us that we are only in
a recession, not a depression, as if definitions words relieve
our suffering, let it show on the record. But when
(28:54):
the American people cried out for economic health, Jimmy Carter
took refuge behind the dictionary. Well, if it's a definition
he wants, I'll give him one. A recession is when
your neighbor loses his job, A depression is when you
lose yours, and recovery is when Jimmy Carter loses his.
(29:23):
That is Ronald Reagan, and I gotta be honest with you,
I think there's a possibility welcome back in by the way,
Clay Travis buck Sex and show. I don't know that
we're ever going to have an election in this country
like nineteen eighty four where you have a total Republican
dominance or a total Democrat dominance based on the way
we are right now, but I do think it is possible,
(29:47):
and we are trending towards twenty twenty two being as
close to nineteen eighty four in terms of a Republican wave.
In terms of there being a lot of them, then
Reagan Democrats, I think there are a lot of Covid Democrats.
I think there are a lot of Saying Democrats who
(30:10):
are leaving that party and are going to vote red.
And one of those guys buck who is doing that
is Elon Musk, And I think there are a lot
of Elon Musk's out there who are fed up with
what they have seen from Democrats. Not quite the bank book,
but yeah, not the money, Yeah, not the ability to
(30:30):
buy Twitter. And by the way, Elon Musk is speaking
at Twitter headquarters on a public meeting of sorts with
the entire Twitter apparatus. But if you look at the
trajectory that we're on right now, I think that there
is a revolution afoot. And I don't know that Democrats
are aware of what is coming for them or how
(30:53):
significant and sweeping the repudiation is going to be. The
day after November, I believe it is when people wake
up all over this country and recognize that things have changed,
because all of you out there, and so many of
you who are new listeners who are desperately craving sanity,
are going to make your voices heard in a way
(31:15):
it's going to be impossible to ignore. I had a
little moment of nostalgia there for the Reagan era, and
obviously there have been some shows Clay that have hearkened
back things of course, which really does remind me of
the you know, the early days of video games and
having little robots and things like this that were you know, fascinating. Yep, yep. Oh.
(31:37):
I used to play duck Hunt all the time. Duck
Hunt was a was a game changer for me on
the original Nintendo system. And then I see that the
Maverick movie, which you and I have both seen, Yes,
and we had Captain Flatley on My girlfriend's dad did
a great job talking about what it was like to
be a part of the top gun school. Think about
your family legacy almost as is possible to exist. I mean,
(32:01):
one of the flatly aviate military aviators landed I think
it was the C one thirty on an aircraft carrier.
Kind of a big deal for anybody who's in the
aviation world. How About you fight Kama Kazi pilots during
World War Two. That's kind of a big deal. It's
a big deal, yeah, I mean it's it's tough enough
to be fighting against somebody else in a you know,
(32:23):
in dog fights, in an aerial contest of aerial maneuvers.
If they're just trying to run at people, run at ships,
that's a whole other level. But Top Gun, which I
think struck the balance of new visuals technology used, et
cetera in the movie, but also really did connect it
(32:45):
nicely to the original what was nineteen eighty six? The
original nineteen eighty six movie. I mean, it's one of
my It's definitely a top ten, probably top five eighties
movies for me, four hundred million dollars. Domestically, people actually
want to see movies where the Americans are heroes, we're good,
(33:08):
triumphs over evil, or where bravery is rewarded. It doesn't
have to all be some left wing seminar coming out
of Oberlin College's Gender Studies department. There actually can be
entertainment that we can all enjoy together. By the way,
speaking of entertainment we can all enjoy together, I woke
up this morning and one of our listeners, Greg had
(33:30):
emailed me. I got this email at he sent it
at five eighteen am, first bright thing, early in the morning.
I went. It says the headline is Buck messed up
on Top Guns. So, first of all, before I even
read his email, I don't know how we've ended up
in a world where people reach out to me to
share a pinion you on you on movies. But here's
(33:52):
what he said. I actually we need to fact check this,
but I thought this was funny because we were just
bringing it up. Buck has messed up big time on
the show with his top gun references. I'm reading from
his email. When talking about top gun instructors, he always
refers to Merlin. This is so wrong exclamation point. Merlin
was Cougar's rio in the first movie, not even a pilot.
(34:15):
To make matters worse, Merlin was played by that freaking
socialist liberal Tim Robbins. The top Gun instructors were Michael
Ironsides as Jester, okay, and Tom Scarrett as Viper. These okay,
I legitimately I mess Merlin and Viper. I thought this
(34:36):
was amazing, not some no talent Merlin. Get it straight.
On a serious note, love the show. You guys make
a Russian book. I stand correct. I always say I
want to get it right, and when I get my
eighties action movie trivia wrong, that that cuts deep, that
that hurts. I just love that. Greg was so committed
to the show for five eighteen am. Now his alarm
(34:57):
went off this morning and he was like, I gotta
make sure or that Clay and Buck know that their
top Gun reference was not one hundred percent accurate. So
thank you to Gregory in all honesty. One of the
most fun things I think I speak for YouTube Buck
about the one year anniversary as we get up to
it is how committed this audience has been to helping
us to continue to fight that Rush was so committed
to himself, and it's emails like that, honestly that make
(35:20):
like make me up. I wake up early the morning,
I read it and I smile, and I wouldn't have
even thought to read it until we started talking about
top Gun. But those kind of things happen all the time.
We appreciate your commitment to the show. And also we
took a photo just kind of a you know, two
guys hanging on the town photo together, and one of
one of our lists responded to the photo with, yeah,
good photo, except Buck has his hand in his pocket
(35:42):
like a psycho? Is that? Are you not a Is
that not a thing? I just had my I was
like relaxed, I did the hell that hands in the
pockets is a psycho move. I once was accused because
I cracked my eggs for scrambled eggs in the pan,
not in a ball. First of being a psycho egg
cracker by a listener. So you know, people take this
stuff seriously, Clay, and we we Hey, we read a
(36:05):
lot of the opinions, We read a lot of what's
sent in and uh, we appreciate all the all the feedback. Now,
I love reading the comments anytime there's a picture that's
out there, just to see what people are going to
react to. And so we were up on top of
your building yesterday before dinner, and as soon as I
tweeted it out, I was like, I gotta check these comments.
So I got back late last night after dinner and
(36:25):
I was just going through laughing as as I read
we get destroyed no matter, well yeah, always matter. It
doesn't matter what we could be in tuxes at you know,
the inauguration of Donald Trump part two, and people would
find a flaw with the way we're behaved. But I
will say there were some people that gave some props
to Clan Buck care game strong. It is very strong.
