Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to today's edition of The Clay Travis and Buck
Sexton Show podcast. Welcome and everybody, Friday edition of The
Clay Travis and Buck sex Didn't Show Man. We have
a lot to talk to you about. We've got a
fantastic guest lineup today, joined by Tommy larn a little
later on second hour of the program, I'm going to

(00:21):
talk to us about a speech she was supposed to
give that was basically shut down by Psycho Lives. What's
that like? And we've also got David Marcus on crime
in San Francisco. You will never guess, well, actually you
might guess what percentage of the city of San Francisco
wants to leave the city in the next couple of

(00:42):
years based on crime, anarchy, lawlessness in the streets. And
then finally, our friend Ann Coulter. We will definitely want
to talk to her about what is by far the
biggest story in the country right now, the Martha's Vineyard
migrants humanitarian crisis that is unfolded right now, fifty people

(01:04):
on the island of Martha's Vineyard. We talked to you
about this yesterday and the way the left has responded
to this is truly mind blowing. It is a sour
grape situation on the vineyard. The libs are very upset,
very unhappy with what's going on there. Let's let's just

(01:25):
start with this. You got fifty people that have been
dropped off on this island. Now, understand everybody, because we
talked about this all the time, about eight thousand officially
are crossing in the United States every day, eight thousand
a day, couple one hundred thousand a month. And so

(01:47):
we sit here, we say fifty, why why does that
create such problems? Especially because Clay, as we know, the
Vineyard is essentially entirely Democrat, ninety five percent Democrats, ninety
five percent white roughly speaking, demographically. So they should love

(02:07):
the diversity that is descending upon Free Island. Should be
the strength of Martha's, it should be the strength of
the vineyard. They should be excited to take these migrants in.
And what we're hearing right away from the shelter coordinator
of the vineyard is, oh my gosh, we we can't
handle these people. Play the most difficult challenges. Now, the
difficult challenges are, at some point in time, I have

(02:29):
to move somewhere else. If we don't have the services
to take care of fifty immigrants, and we certainly don't
have housing. We're in a housing crisis as we are
on this island, and we don't We can't house everyone
here that lives here and works here. We don't have
housing for fifty more people, but housing for fifty more

(02:51):
people clay, no room at the end for the migrants.
This is I've been there. There are lots of ends.
There are lots of homes. Summer homes are acts not
occupied buck during what's soon to be the fall and
winter season. How come Obama's got what twelve acres cout,
doesn't just put them on the front law. And this

(03:12):
is an island that expands in the blink of an
eye as soon as Memorial Day happens. Oh yeah, you
have over one hundred thousand, some say more like one
hundred and fifty to two hundred thousand people a day
on this island. We're going into winter, the year rounders.
And I've been there in wintertime. As I discussed yesterday,
I know some of the year rounders. Towny as some

(03:33):
people will call them, islanders is their preferred term. Actually
claim there's only fifteen thousand so if you can handle
one hundred and fifty thousand in the summer, and even
I got fifteen thousand in the winter, they got a
lot of empty capacity. What this perfectly crystallizes is left
wing pertend games when it comes to the border. Everybody

(03:57):
in the Democrat Party is very much in favor of
illegal immigration as long as the illegal immigration doesn't impact
their own community. And what rhn de Santis and Greg
Abbott and Doocey out of Arizona, what those three governors
have recognized is Joe Biden and the Democrats were not

(04:18):
going to mention, as you discussed buck, eight thousand illegals
coming across the border right now every day, two million
in this calendar year plus. So you can well imagine,
I know, we got a lot of listeners down along
the border Arizona and Texas right now, who deal with
this all the time, who deal with millions of illegals

(04:42):
coming across and through their communities on a regular basis.
And all it takes is fifty illegals in Martha's Vineyard
to ever everything to come undone for around ten thousand
in Washington, d C. For around ten thousand in New
York City, a tiny pen per of the overall illegal
population is breaking these left wing communities abilities to actually

(05:07):
handle them. And what we would say to everybody out
there is on Martha's vineyard as this perfect representation of
what only fifty illegals can do. Think about what people
in Texas and Arizona are dealing with on a day
to day basis because Joe Biden absolutely, steadfastly refuses to
protect the southern border and stop this illegal influx of illegal,

(05:31):
illegal immigrants. I think we can establish a rule on
this show, Clay that you can always tell the potency
of the message by how outraged, freaked out, hyperbolic, total
melt down the Libs go. Right, you know you're over
the target when you're taking heavy flak, But with Libs,

(05:53):
it's more when they're melting down. That's when you gotta
keep pushing. That's when you know something's got to keep
it going. And that's where we are right now with
this some of the things that were being said, and
there's amazing stuff. We really want to spend some time
with you on this today, everybody, because there's amazing stuff
all around this issue, and as we've been saying, it's

(06:14):
only fifty people in Martha's vineyard. Keep in mind, first off,
this premise. They're now moving some might say deporting from
the island, these fifty individuals to Cape Cod which is
on the coast of Massachusetts. They're mobilizing National Guard. The
big initial excuse for why they can't have them an

(06:35):
vineyard what was which is just nonsense. By the way,
you can find two empty houses. I mean, California is
telling hotel operators, we're just gonna write checks for you
to house the homeless. They can't handle the illegal migrants
and the vineyard for a couple of weeks. It's total nonsense.
The idea that they can't have our hotels there. They're
bed and breakfast. Why would they not be forced to

(06:56):
open up and take in the illegal immaglay. But people
are looking at this the wrong way. They keep saying
the tiny island, and they're being misled. A tiny island
with no resources. This is actually an island with enormous
spare capacity. Right now. In the summertime, now they'd say
I'm sorry. In the wintertime, they'd say, oh, but we
don't have the staffing and stuff. Oh no, no, no,
we're not asking for you know, five five star, five

(07:19):
star chefs and Shiatsu massages at the SPA. We're just
saying empty houses. There's plenty of places where people could
be put up. They want them off the island as
fast as possible. They pretend like, oh, no, the problem
is just the lack of resources on the vineyard. Put
that aside for a second. New York, DC and Chicago
have only got between them maybe what twenty thousand migrants

(07:42):
that have been bost fifteen thousand New York I think
it's eleven thousand right now, so assume it's another ten
thousand and the other two clay they're freaking out. They're
calling it a humanitarian crisis. Oh, we can't handle the migrants.
Oh if they can't handle them, where, oh okay, So
along the border El Paso, Texas, McAllen. You know, those

(08:05):
are the places El Rio that riotly flooded. These are
the places that are just supposed to accept that now
they are effectively there that turned into refugee camps. I mean,
that's that's what's supposed to happen here. It's showing the
hypocrisy in a way that honestly, it's brilliant. I mean
Rhonda said, Governor Abbot of Texas Desert. He's the first one. Yeah,

(08:27):
Rohnda Santis with Martha's Vineyard though, is amazing, and you
know what they're talking about his next stop, Delaware. I
agree with it. And for people out there who say
this is a political stunt, first of all, the illegal
immigrants are agreeing to be taken there, and Joe Biden
has been flying illegal immigrants all over the country in
the dead of night to try to pretend that they're

(08:49):
not here. This is what's necessary in order to put
this story on the front page of the newspaper. I agree. Look,
if Joe Biden was going to the border regularly, and
he was putting the resources and attention to the border,
then I would say, Okay, maybe this feels like a
bit of a distraction from the border itself. The only

(09:10):
way you can get Democrats to talk about the borders. Buck,
I bet the fifty immigrants in Martha's Vineyard have produced
more stories about the border in the last thirty six
hours than we're written in the previous thirty six days.
I'm not kidding about that, because when you look at

(09:32):
the amount that most of the media, certainly I haven't
seen it on the front page for a very very
long time of newspapers. This is how you grabbed control
of a story and force a discussion about the failure
that's going on, because it's an easy leap to say.
And I think this is the challenge that left wingers
find themselves in. You're talking about how overwhelmed you are

(09:55):
in New York, DC, in Chicago and now with Martha's
Vineyard with a pen prick of the illegals. Think about
how many communities are dealing with what you're dealing with
on an exponential level. And I would I told you
what did I say? Will play some of the failures
of Karine Jean Pierre to answer a question about this,

(10:16):
but Biden basically hasn't been able to say anything right.
They're debating in the White House, what do they do?
What do they say? Because as soon as they engage
on this issue, the fact that there's two million illegals
is a follow up. Even if you disagree with the
way that the governors in Arizona, Texas and Florida are
are act the real number is five right, five million

(10:37):
illegal entries into the country that we know about, and
that's since Biden became into Austine came into office. Right now,
when I say the real number, I mean the aggregate number,
and that doesn't include visa overstays, by the way, which
used to be estimated at three four hundred thousand maybe
five hundred thousand a year, people that actually come here

(10:57):
from other countries and just never never leave. That then
puts you in the legal status. So what's amazing is,
let's just take the census number, and I mean it's
maybe now eleven point seven million according to the Census
Bureau for how many undocumented is the term they like
to use illegal aliens, how many illegal aliens are in
the country. Just adding the five million almost brings up

(11:19):
a fifty percent increase in the illegal alien population in
two years. Now. The reality, which I'm not sure which
is really worse for Democrats, is that the illegal alien
population of the United States was already more like fifteen
to twenty million. I'm estimating, I don't know, nobody knows.
It's certainly more than eleven point seven million based upon
border patrol data. They've been telling me this for years.

(11:40):
This isn't like I just came up with this, But
let's just I mean, I'm not sure which one is worse.
That they're dramatically underestimating the size of the overall population
and therefore the illegal migrant increase isn't as big. But
what we do know is they have no answer for this,
which is why you have Gavin Newsom of California. You
see this, Oh, we should totally investigate whether or not

(12:02):
this is kidnapping. Yeah, it's kidnapping, idiot, or all these
people who are saying it's human trafficking. If someone says, hey,
do you want it? First of all, they're not supposed
to be in the country in the first place. The
federal government, by law, should be putting them on buses
and sending them back across the border, but they don't
do that. But someone saying, hey, I'm gonna give you

(12:24):
a free flight to Martha's vineyard is kidnapping on what
basis design a waiver that you sign a waiver to
be able to go. And if you're really concerned about
human trafficking, boy, oh boy, have I ever got a
story for you, Gavin Newsom, if you would travel to
Texas and Arizona and go check out the California yourself.
He's in the California too. You will see a human

(12:46):
trafficking the likes of which has never existed basically in
American history, right that I can remember in terms of
millions of people, millions of people modern American history anyway,
twenty first century, in t twentieth century, for sure, millions
of people are being coyoted across the border, and the

(13:07):
cartels are making billions of dollars to do it. And
if you don't pay them, you can't come. That is
the definition of human trafficking. That's the business they're engaged in.
It's phenomenal that this is the primary national political conversation
right now in this country, the primary story that everybody's
having to focus on, and it's exposing, I think for

(13:28):
a lot of people who weren't paying attention before, just
how broken the whole situation is. Lawlessness, is what is
actually happening at our southern border, that when they say
it's secure, they're lying to you. But more than that,
you know what it really gets to here, the just
the rank hypocrisy from the top of the Democrat to
lead all these libs. I mean, Martha's been you. You

(13:49):
have to understand that's their place. The libs. They consider
this to be their sanctuary. Sure, New York can get
more dangerous, Boston can get more dangerous, Chicago. They live
in the safe neighborhoods, though, and they know that they
can spend their summer and Motha's vineyard. And what's happened
here is that you know Muffy and Buffy from the

(14:11):
country club who donate so much money to Nancy Pelosi
and Chuck Schumer and Joe Biden, they don't They don't
want people who they want other people to be dealing
with the illegal migrants. They love them, oh no, there's
such humanitarians, but they don't want them near the golf course.
And that's what the whole country has seen. They love

(14:34):
them when they can post on Facebook and when they
can show up at the fundraiser where the poor people
are masked and they get to set next to Nancy
Pelosi and get their lobster. But as soon as soon
as there is any loot sintilla of threat to their lifestyle,
they turn. They turned pretty quickly. Buck. We'll get into

(14:56):

(16:04):
we appreciate all of you hanging out with us. We've
obviously been talking about the border, which suddenly is a
story thanks to the governors of Arizona, Texas Florida deciding
that they are going to relate relocate illegal immigrants to
left wing cities and the ensuing absolute mind blowing loss

(16:25):
of perspective that that has created is incredible. Martha's Vineyard
already has kicked the illegal immigrants off of their island.
They are now housed, I believe at a military base
or headed to a military base soon to be taken
care of Massachusetts. Maybe we need to send all of
our illegal immigrants to Massachusetts, since Senator Elizabeth Warren suggested

(16:48):
that would make a lot of sense. We are joined
now have her by Outkicks. I'm super happy to have
her as a part of our team at OutKick dot Com.
It's doing regular shows every single evening with us also
appearing on Fox News all the time. Tommy Laron Also, Tommy,
I don't know if you're still in New Mexico or not,
but your speech, your talk at the University of New

(17:12):
Mexico was shut down by protesters last night. Police had
to be called in to provide safe escort to you
and the others that were there. It's a crazy story
emblematic of the shutdown of free speech that is existing
all over the country. I first, we're glad you're okay. Second,
tell us about what happened at the University of New Mexico. Well,

(17:34):
anytime I go to a campus, I expect some resistance
from what I call the green hairs, the green haired
liberals who they don't like conservatives on campus. You know,
they're more than welcome to protests. But what happened last
night was not a protest. It was a mob, and
it was a riot. We were in a room, in
a student union room. I was about to deliver my speech.
Of course, we knew that there was protests supposed to

(17:54):
be happening. It had been advertised for days. It was
all over social media. You know, the Antifa of campus
got involved. But I didn't expect it to be like
it was. I mean, they were banging down, trying to
bang down the door. They were screaming, chanting, and I
don't think they were even supposed to be in the
student union. They were supposed to be in the courtyard,
but they busted their way through. I mean Campus TD.
They had a few officers there, but they were being

(18:16):
pushed and shoved to the side. I mean it got
to a point where the doors were rattling and people
were starting to push their way in. And that's the
point when they decided that I probably better get back
to the kitchen because we didn't know what was going
to happen after that. So it was absolute chaos and madness.
And the liberals they're rabid banshees, and it's only going
to get worse. I fear, Tommy. I'm just curious. The

(18:38):
first thing when I googled this story, the first news
story that came up reads this way. I just want
to share this with you. Nearly one hundred people gathered
on the University of New Mexico's campus in Albuquerque to
protest a conservative political commentator, Tommy Laren. They go right
into this quote. I think it's really bad for the
university to be having someone who comes out and says
hate all the time, especially when they push love everyone

(19:01):
and they're really big on inclusion, says one student. So
I like this is the way news stories are set
up now that they basically view one line about what happened,
and then it's already pushing hate all the time. But
what is it that you push that makes them so upset?
I'm just curious, like, do they when they're screaming and
as you say, the Banshees are shrieking about all this stuff.
I mean, you're very nice and pleasant. I don't understand

(19:22):
why it's so mad at you. What did you do?
You know? They like the conservatives that apologize, you know,
the Republicans that apologize. I think maybe those are palatable
to liberals, but if you're somebody that stands their ground,
like you know, the three of Us are and many
other conservatives out there, they don't like that. And what
they really want to do on these college campuses is unfortunate.
Not only do they want to get the campuses to

(19:43):
disinvite people like me, I think that's the first goal,
and if that doesn't happen, what they try to do
is create madness like this, even to the point of violence,
so that universities don't host students, don't hold student events
like this in the future, but also so that it
runs up the security cost so high. The groups like
TPUSA can't afford it. That's what they really want to
do here. And now what they're going to do next
time university in Mexico wants to welcome a conservative speaker

(20:06):
through TPUSA, the university is going to say, oh no, well,
the stink police had to be called in and the
SWAT team had to be called in, so we have
to deny that. So that's what they do to try
to shut down conservative speech. They're either going to physically
attack you or they're going to find a way to
silence you in whatever way necessary, and they will go
to any length. What I saw last night might be
one of the worst displays that I've seen. And I've

(20:28):
been doing this for a while, and they met with
a lot of protests, But what was happening last night
wasn't protest like I told you, It was a mob.
It was a riot. Who's organizing this, Tommy? I mean
in your mind? I mean, because let's just be honest,
first of all, if you show up and you protest
a speaker on a camp, who's organizing the riot? Just
to be clear, right, yeah, yeah, but I'm saying you're
a total and complete loser. Most people on college campus

(20:51):
you know, they're trying to find out where the next
party is going to be. They may be working about,
worry about their school. It's inconceivable to me that these
could be real normal students that are showing up and protesting.
So somebody is trying to organize them and antagonize them.
It's an organized group in some way, Tommy, do you
have any sense of who is trying to make this happen? Well,

(21:14):
funny story, it's actually somebody that's self proclaimed Intifa of course,
also a self proclaimed journalist, was kind of the guy
behind it. He actually exchanged some words with my fiance
JP on Twitter yesterday which was interesting. And then come
to find out this is the man that organized the
whole thing. I believe his name is Andrew Gunn. And
if you want to take a little look see at
Andrew Gunn's history. You know, he has also been arrested

(21:35):
previously for threatening to put his girlfriend and a meat grinder.
So that just gives you a little sense of what
we're dealing with here. These are vile, disgusting, mama's basement
living Antifa liberals who are emboldened and believed they can
do whatever they want. As far as I know, no
arrests were made last night, despite the fact that they
vandalized the university, kicked holes in the wall, and then
of course endangered me and the students that were attending,

(21:58):
But no arrest made. They just had to call in
the squat team because apparently these people were just so righteous.
That's usually why you have to call in the state police.
To a conservative speaker. Talking to Tommy larn of OutKick
dot com right now. Our friend Tommy had to deal
with some psycholibs last night, and this is just the
way things tend to go whenever they're going to be
subjected to words that hurt their feelings. But you know, Tommy,

(22:21):
we've also been having I just need your take on this.
We've been having quite a day here with the fifty
migrants censor Martha's Vineyard now shipped off to a military
base right away because the vineyard loves illegal migrants so
much that they couldn't find a way to feed and
house them for twenty four hours. What do you think

(22:41):
of this whole situation? Well, I'm with you, guys. I
think that these liberals should be opening up their mansions.
Doesn't Obama have quite a nice mansion in Martha's vinyard.
They should be opened up the doors. They got plenty
of room. You know, it isn't that the benchmark of
socialism that we invite everybody in and those who have
a lot or are able to give what they have.
And if that, if they're just going to willingly open

(23:02):
it up, I say we started sending them to the
French laundry, you know, anywhere that these rich white liberals gather.
They should all get illegal immigrants. We should be like
Oprah with illegal immigrants. Just send them everywhere and spread
the love. Tommy, You've been talking about the border for
a long time. I don't remember more discussion about what's
going on at the border then in the last few

(23:23):
weeks as New York, as DC, as Chicago, and certainly
over the last twenty four hours or so since this
happened at Martha's Vineyard. This is changing the story. Is
it going to be impactful in the long run or
is it a distraction that kind of disappears again as
they try to disappear anything having to do with border security.

(23:46):
I think it's in your face when you start seeing
bus loads and you're not able to ignore it. But
let's be clear, these sanctuary cities and states, they've got
their share of these llegal immigrants. They're just living in
the shadows, and the residents that are there, they're not
seeing it coming off of a bus, which really shocks
the system. That's why this needs to continue. You know,
we've got the population of equivalent of Ireland that's invaded
our southern border since Joe Brandon took office, So we

(24:07):
got plenty of people to go around. So if these
facilities they are not able to house them, I say
keep sending them too, these liberal cities until they can't
ignore it any longer, because that whole excuse of this
is a racist move. We're using people as political props.
That only works for so long when your residents are
actually going to start getting pretty pissed off. So keep
doing it. I think that this is masterful, and I
hope that they continue speaking to Tommy larn about kick. Tommy,

(24:32):
I know you've talked to border patrol many times, been
down there many times. I've spent some time at different
points along the border. I'm wondering what they tell you
they think, you know, because I'm asking people for their
estimates how many illegals are actually in the country, because,
as we've been discussing, the census number is eleven point
seven million. I think maybe it's twelve million now, but

(24:53):
we've had five million in two years, and that's not
including gotaways. So what are you hearing about the total number?
I'm always curious. They've been telling us ten million illegals
for the last twenty years, okay, so there's no possible
way the numbers add up there. I would think my
estimates has got to be a close to twenty million
at this point, is because they've been saying ten for

(25:13):
quite a long time now. But that's the problem. We
don't know, and we don't know where they end up.
We don't know, by the way, when they get there.
We don't know how many kids that they're having. We
don't know how many on government assistants. The last numbers
is very high number of these immigrant families that are
on government assistants. We know California hands out those perks
like candy, So at this point there's far more. But
talking to Board Patrol, honestly, they just like any other

(25:35):
law enforcement in this country. They're so demoralized. But I
set up for this job for a reason to protect
the border. They're not able to do that. And the
amount of time that they send babysitting, it's unbelievable to me.
Every time these migrants come in. Of course they have
to take them to the hospital to get their checks,
and anyone that have medical problems they have to be
serviced on our dime. And these boardshal agents have to
sit outside of the waiting room and wait for these

(25:56):
people like they're they're nannies. It is unbelievable. We're paying
for all of it. By the way, this is a
resource suck like we've never seen before. Tommy. For everybody
out there who loves what they've just heard from you,
maybe they haven't gotten to experience a lot of year
content before. Where can they find it? Well, of course
Fox News and then OutKick dot Com. Tommy Larren Steel

(26:17):
is Monday, Wednesday and Thursday seven pm Eastern and I'm
so happy to be part of the OutKick family. And
it's great to talk to you guys as well. Good stuff.
We're glad you're great, Tommy. And by the way, congratulations
the wedding next month, right, Yes, we will be having security.
Anybody was wondering first although you know, Clay, this kind

(26:37):
of stuff doesn't happen in Nashville at least, I hope not,
at least not so far where we live. Tell JP,
I said, Hi, thanks for baking the time. Thank you guys,
I have a good one. Take care. It's Tommy larn Well.
You know, it's interesting that she's talking about what happened
at the University of New Mexico because Hillsdale College is
trying to ensure that their university remains a bastion for
free speech. And you know, back in the day, Americans

(27:00):
used to engage in healthy debate about which policies would
improve this great country we all love. But today we
find ourselves defending that greatness against an onslaught of criticism and,
in the case which you just heard from Tommy larn
violence towards anyone who has a different point of view.
The reason for this is simple. For too many years,
too many of our schools have been neglecting to teach

(27:22):
young Americans about America's great heritage of liberty. Instead, they're
getting a dishonest, biased narrative of America being fundamentally unjust
and racist. Hillsdale College is weighing in four America by
offering free online courses such as The Great American Story,
A Land of Hope, and Constitution one oh one, The

(27:42):
Meaning and History of the Constitution. Tomorrow is Constitution Day.
It's a great time to enroll in one of these
free courses from Hillsdale Again. You're free online Hillsdale College
Course today at Clay and Buck four Hillsdale dot com. Again,
that's Clay in Buck four Hillsdale dot com. Welcome back

(28:04):
in Clay Travis buck Sexton Show Friday Edition. I hope
all of you are having a good early start to
your weekend hanging out with us. We're joined now by
Brooklyn based columnists David Marcus. He has been writing about
all the latest crime numbers all over the country, and David,
I feel like in many cases we are not talking

(28:27):
enough about just how extraordinary the crime rise has been
since two nineteen. Contextually, what jumps out to you as
a way to illustrate the level of crime that we
are seeing all over the country. You know, I think
I think one important aspect is that it's no longer

(28:49):
limited to the cities. I recently wrote a piece for
Fox News about it was really hooked to a broad
daylight attack outside the Apple story in Greenwich, Connecticut. Right,
if anyone's ever been to Greenwich, Connecticut, that doesn't happen
in Greenwich, Connecticut. But this is happening all over the country. Again,
not just in places like New York and San Francisco

(29:11):
where we've grown to anticipate it. We're starting to see
this in suburban areas that aren't used to it, and
you know, it's frightening, David, I also saw this statistic.
I mean about the consequences now, the political and demographic
or just population consequences that we're seeing in some major cities.

(29:34):
Is it right that about a third of people in
San Francisco have expressed a desire to leave the city
they call home. Yeah, I mean absolutely, as shocking as
that number is, and I mean, obviously, were that to happen,
any city that loses a third or its population, it's
it's going to be devastating. But look, man, I was
there about a year ago walking around the Tenderloin. It's

(29:57):
however bad people think it is, it's one hundred times worse.
I've never seen anything like it. I couldn't believe I
was in an American city It was just street lined
with tents on both sides, people openly shooting up, an
open air drug market, no cops anywhere. It was a
health gate man. So what is Joe Biden's plan here, right?

(30:21):
I mean, part of it is to just hide what's
actually going on from a crime perspective, hope people get
distracted by Trump with Mara Lago the raid, and then
focus on abortion. I mean, I think it's Trump an
abortion is going to be his plan. But is there
any indication that any of this is going to get
better or are we going to have to undertake drastic
nineteen nineties style new crime bills in order to get

(30:44):
things fixed? Well? Look, I mean Biden's clearly trying. The
whole Democratic Party for the most part, are trying to
run away from their defund the police rhetoric. Right, Oh yeah,
that's that we never said that. That's not movie man.
And he says, you know, we'll give more money to
the localities. The problem is that these nut job city
councils hold hearings where they listen to these you know,

(31:05):
professors of criminology from Harvard, and instead of hiring cops,
they hire social workers, and instead of enforcing laws. They
send people to community courts where they get social services
instead of jail time. Yeah. Absolutely, we have to go
back to late eighties and early nineties ideas like broken windows,
like comstats, stop question and frisk why because they work.

(31:28):
It's been a David Marcus, Brooklyn based columnist. David Brooklyn
is very very deep blue. I'm just wondering if I mean,
it's where Hillary Clinton sent up her election headquarters. It
makes some parts of Manhattan look almost politically sane by comparison,
although that's a pretty tough that's maybe that's a little
too much, but it's definitely very very left wing. Are

(31:52):
you hearing from people who realize, uh, you know, neighbors, friends, colleagues,
anybody in your vicinity out there in Brooklyn that this
doesn't get better until they stopped doing the things the
Democrats have been doing. Like, are you seeing the turning
point yet? Or have people not suffered enough? I don't
know that they've suffered enough, but I am seeing signs

(32:13):
of it for sure. Now I live in I have
a Republican Member of Congress, Nicole Maliatakas, who represents Staten
Island and a part of Brooklyn. That I live in. Oh,
you're in the You're in the Okay, that is just
over knows that's an unusual situation for Brooklyn, but there's
like a carved out area of it. Yes, I have
trucks with Trump flags on them where I live in Brooklyn,

(32:33):
so that that does exist. But yeah, look, Maliatakas is
almost certainly going to win her race against Max Rose
for Congress here in Brooklyn and Staten Island. And I'm
starting to hear a lot more optimism from state Republicans
about leez Elden. About three weeks ago, when I was
calling around trying to do stories on this, I was

(32:56):
having people tell me, Dave, there's no way, like, look
at the voter registration numbers, like there's no chance he's
been creeping back in the polls. He just dropped. If
people haven't seen it, a devastating ad that's just clip
after clip of brutal violence in New York City blaming
Kathy Hokel. So I have a little hope that Zelden

(33:17):
can win, And if Selden does win, we might be
able to start chipping away at these bail reform laws.
So yeah, I mean enormously consequential election for New York
State and New York City. What about elsewhere? But you know,
we were just talking about the importance of the Senate race.
It is right, what's going to happen in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania,
New Hampshire, Georgia, Nevada, Arizona. But we almost got last year,

(33:41):
New Jersey almost flipped and I feel like a lot
of people totally missed that. We obviously celebrated the fact
that Glenn young Can won and sent a message in Virginia.
Are you getting the sense as you look at this
crime issue? In my home state of Tennessee, we had
Eliza Fletcher, a mom that was out for a job
in the morning that got murdered, totally random act of

(34:03):
vile and same thing in a couple of days later,
a guy live streams himself on Facebook driving around in
Memphis shooting innocent people. This feels, as you mentioned, it's
not just you mentioned Greenwich where you had the issue.
It's not just big cities. Now. Is crime in your
mind the number one issue that Republicans should be focused

(34:23):
on nationwide, the clarifying sort of clarion call along with inflation.
I think so. And there's a reason right, Crime and
inflation are political issues that voters feel, right, immigration, foreign policy,
These are issues that people think about when you're standing
at line at the grocery store and that big number

(34:45):
shows up and you're thinking, how am I going to
get that xbox with my kid's birthday? Yeah, you feel
that in your gut, right, that's real. And if you
send your kid off to school or your spouse goes
off to work and you're worried about them, you know,
being a vict of crime, that's that same kind of
in your gut feeling that gets people out to the
ballot box and gets them pulling leavers to try to

(35:08):
fix it. So, yeah, I think those are I think
inflation and crime right now are the two things that
are most important to Americans and really what Republicans need
to have them Our friend Columns David Marcus, David Man,
always appreciate you being with us. Thank you so much.
Thanks for having me guys. Look, we're glad that the
railroad strike got averted, and that would have been an

(35:29):
unmitigated disaster for all sorts of transportation and supply chain
related issues. But look, food shortages are still looming out
there as a potential issue. You might not have noticed it,
but you certainly felt it when you see how much
you're having to pay every single time you go to
the grocery store. Right now, you remember when the COVID

(35:50):
shutdown happened, what the grocery store runs look like. Why
not prepare yourself so you don't have to worry about
whether there's going to be a railroad strike, a natural disaster,
or what the situation's going to be like in Europe
with oil and what the spiral might create. Why to
go ahead and get your family taken care of with

(36:10):
months of food supply already in your home, three month
emergency food kits from my Patriots Supply. They're the nation's
largest preparedness company. Millions of satisfied customers out there. I've
done this just to be safe. I've got three young boys,
I got a wife, my house. We eat a lot
of food, and why not go ahead and prepare for

(36:33):
what could be the worst. It's a nice simple plan
to have in place, especially when they're charging less so
they can help people more. This cell will end soon, however,
you can say two hundred and fifty dollars off your
three month kit when you go to prepare with Clay
and Buck dot com. Let me tell you one more time.

(36:53):
Prepare with Clay and Buck dot com. I know I
said one more. Here's one more for real. Do what
I did. Go to prepare with Clay and Buck dot com.
Welcome back in Clay Travis, Buck Sexton Show. We are
closing out the week. We hope all of you have
a fantastic weekend. I will be down in Auburn, Alabama

(37:15):
for the Penn State Auburn football game. You can watch
me tomorrow morning on Big Noon. If you are a
college football fan, cannot wait to be down on the
planes there, encourage you to go subscribe to our podcast.
You can search out Clay Travis, you can search out
Buck Sexton Boom. You'll be ready to go. I want
to put a bow on the Big Martha's Vineyard. Discussion
of the day. Gavin Newsom, governor of California, has demanded

(37:40):
that Rohn de Santis be investigated for kidnapping and also
for human trafficking. Ron De Santis was asked about that
just moments ago. Here's what he had to say. The
Governor of California sent a letter to Department of Justice.
Saying you need to prosecute Texas and Florida governors, And
all I can say is, I think his hair gel

(38:01):
is interfering with his brain function. Pretty good line. It's
a pretty good line. Buck. So that is rhnd DE Santis'
response to Governor Gavin Newsom of California. I still feel
as if this maybe a twenty twenty four or twenty
twenty eight national election preview in some way, if there

(38:21):
was a celebrity boxing match between DeSantis and Newsom, I
think I think DeSantis would would handle him pretty pretty handily.
I think he'd take him down if they if they
did like a charity boxing match. Santis way better athlete. Also,
I didn't realize this Newsom's almost sixty credits, Okay. I
thought they were like within ten years. They were around

(38:43):
the same age too, Okay, credit Craft, you know the
ageless Santis is DeSantis is a last year of I
believe I'm correct in this a last year of gen
X guy like your boy here. I think DeSantis and
I are the same age basically, so I thought, I mean, yeah,
Gavin Newsom is aging, well give him that. I mean
there's probably a lot of I thought they were closer

(39:05):
in age, so that's not really fair. Yeah, I think
they're like fifteen years difference. All right, do we have
time to break out the Animal Thunderdome here? Do we
have the audio to play which people have not heard
of this show? So, Ted Clay, you need to tell
people what is Animal Thunderdome. So for people who listen
to my old OutKick the Coverage Show, one of the
most fun segments we had. We thought we'd bring it
in on Fridays to get ready for the weekend. There's

(39:28):
lots of serious things going on in life. Is people
being attacked by animals. This is an animal Thunderdome, animals
versus people. We have fun with all these crazy stories
that are out there. For the old time OutKick the
Coverage listener, I did you know early morning radio nationwide
for a long time. We have even imported the audio.

(39:48):
I believe this is the soundtrack we used to enter
it with. Listen, nadies and gentlemen. I'm just glad I
was scary boys and girls. I thought he had thought
I was like this enormous piece of chicken. Dim times

(40:10):
I had to this is Animal Thunderdome, So Buck, those
are all people that we talked about on the Animal
Thunderdome who had been attacked by animals. I saw this
story and I couldn't believe it. This guy in Florida
went for a swim. Eric merrig of the New York
Times did a big profile on he went swimming in

(40:32):
a swamp, which seems like a bad move in Florida.
I'll just point out, in general, what would I have
to pay you buck if you and I next time
we're down in Florida. If we were in a swamp
and I was like, hey, why don't you just go
swim across this swamp like alligator infested lake, I'd probably
have to pay you a decent amount um, no amount
of I mean at night in a place where I
thought it was likely there were gators. No amount of money,

(40:53):
because I wouldn't be able to spend it. Okay, So
this guy did it. What happened to him? So Eric
Merrida decided, when he was in his off time between
irrigation service calls, just in July of this summer, that
he wanted to go hang out in the Manatee Fish
Camp to explore. So he went swimming, and he went

(41:15):
swimming and got attacked by an alligator. The alligator mangled
his arm to the point where it actually had to
be eventually amputated, essentially tore his arm almost off entirely.
He spent, according of New York Times, yere four days
and three nights lost naked because he stripped down due
I guess his boxers, to go swimming naked and alone

(41:38):
in the swamp with an arm that was basically bitten
off by a seven foot long alligator. And he survived.
He's okay, by the way, the bad decision making. But
can you imagine without an arm surviving multiple days and
a swamp in Florida. I can't imagine surviving multiple days
without air conditioning in the swamp. And lord, like, are

(42:00):
you kidding me? How did he get lost so bad?
I mean, that's awful. So he went for a naked
late night swim, an alligator bit his arm off, and
then he spent four days and three nights lost in
the sea. You thought you were gonna have a rough
weekend out there. Everybody's like, I gotta go to this
kid birthday party. Everything else. Things could be part far worse.
You could have been this poor guy. People in the

(42:21):
New York Times. Here at the end of this piece,
they're like, hey, man, like, what do you learn from
all this? You're this quote is fear is a good thing,
as in, don't go swimming with the alligators. There you go.
Lessons to live by half fantastic weekid Sleet, Travis, and
Buck Sexton on the front lines.
