Tudor Dixon fills in for Clay and Buck, broadcasting live from NewsRadio 1300 WOOD Radio Studios in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dixon, host of the Tudor Dixon Podcast on the Clay and Buck Podcast Network, is joined by political commentator Kyle Olson for a dynamic hour of political analysis and cultural commentary.

They break down the rise of socialism in American politics, focusing on the Democratic nominee for New York City mayor, a self-described socialist with a controversial background in Palestinian activism. Dixon and Olson critique his affiliations with Democratic Socialists of America, his support for Palestinian liberation, and his calls to defund the police, raising concerns about the implications for public safety, urban crime, and Jewish communities in NYC.

Tudor comments on Michigan’s status as a northern border state and the challenges posed by illegal crossings from Canada. She highlights the Trump administration’s success in reducing border crossings and critiques the Biden administration’s immigration policies. A shocking anecdote involving a deported individual with cannibalistic behavior underscores the urgency of strong immigration enforcement.

The conversation then shifts to a controversial new app called “ICE Block”, designed to alert users of ICE activity in real time. Dixon and her guest, Kyle Olson, express concern over the app’s potential to endanger law enforcement and obstruct ICE operations. They discuss the broader implications of such technology, including its use by activist groups and the potential for chaos during enforcement actions.

A major segment of the hour is dedicated to a landmark Title IX enforcement action involving the University of Pennsylvania. U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon joins the show to announce a resolution that bars biological males from competing in women’s sports at the university. The agreement includes restoring records and titles to female athletes, issuing public apologies, and adopting biology-based definitions of “male” and “female.” This development is framed as a significant victory for women’s rights and fairness in athletics, fulfilling a key campaign promise from President Trump.

Tudor breaks down the political drama surrounding the passage of the “big beautiful bill” in Congress, highlighting opposition from Rep. Thomas Massie and the potential impact on Donald Trump’s America First agenda. With the bill stalled due to concerns over the debt ceiling and government spending, Dixon emphasizes the importance of maintaining a Republican majority in the House to avoid future impeachment efforts and legislative gridlock. The segment also features criticism from Elon Musk, who threatens to primary Republicans supporting the bill, prompting pushback from GOP leaders who prioritize Trump’s endorsement. Dixon underscores Trump’s historic popularity among the Republican base and urges lawmakers to align with his policies to ensure continued momentum heading into the next election cycle. This episode is a must-listen for those following conservative politics, Trump’s legislative strategy, and the GOP’s internal power dynamics.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, and welcome to the Clay, Travis and Bucks Sexton Show.
The guys are off today and as you've probably noticed,
they left me in charge. I'm Tutor Dixon and I
will be filling in today. I am the host of
the Tutor Dixon Podcast, which is actually a part of
Clay and Bucks podcast network, So they are trusting me today.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
We'll see if that's a good idea or not.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
But the Tutor Dixon Podcast you can catch it every Monday,
Wednesday and Friday on the iHeartRadio app. We talk about
everything politics, all the things that the guys are covering here.
But today we are excited because we are coming to
you live from the Wood Radio Studios here in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
We've got a great show coming up for you. We

(00:40):
are talking one on one with the US Secretary of Education,
Linda McMahon. She has a huge announcement. She announced it
last night, but we're going to get into some of
the details of what's happening there, a major victory for
women's sports. We also have the latest on the p
Ditty trial with Yaku Boyans and we're going to be
taking a deep dive into this vine that taking over

(01:01):
our cities with Gianno Caldwell.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
A little bit later.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
First, I want to introduce a friend that I have
with me today, Kyle Olsen. He's actually probably the reason
that I'm here, so I had him join me today.
I'm new to politics. I got into this in about
twenty seventeen when Kyle pulled me out of the manufacturing sector.
But he's been doing this for a very long time,
so he's kind of my political sense. Say so he's
here with me today, Kyle, say hello, thank you and thanks.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
For having me.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
It is.

Speaker 5 (01:30):
What an honor it is to be with you today
and for including me. To me, this time is hollowed ground.
Noon to three was learning time when I was growing up.
I remember watching Rush Limbaugh late at night on Fox News.
I was in high school in the mid nineteen nineties.
In my youth, pastor Wally Coots, who is now pastor

(01:50):
in Alligan, Michigan, would take me out to lunch sometimes
and for that eight minute drive he'd have Rush Limbaugh
on the radio. And at that time it was like
it was like water in the desert. And of course
that was a time when there was no internet archive,
there were no clips on social media, and so if
you didn't hear it between and noon and three, you

(02:10):
missed it. But he impacted our generation and I believe
paved the way for two terms of President Donald Trump.
So it's a thrill for me to be here and
thank you to Clay and Buck for giving both of
us this opportunity.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Yeah, And honestly, that is what Kyle's upbringing is what
brought me here. And we think every day, what would
Rush Limbaugh think about what is happening right now? And
I say that because we're watching the Democrat Party in
total chaos. They have this Mandami situation in New York.
They're trying to figure out exactly where they stand on it.

(02:44):
You've had a lot of people who have come out
and said they don't want to endorse him, but they're
kind of they're shy about it. They're shy about it
because they don't know where the Democrat Party is heading.
I think what's interesting in what we're seeing with this
new Mandani who is he is now the anointed mayor?

(03:05):
Maybe he's been. He made it through the primary. Generally
a Democrat who makes it through the primary in New
York becomes the mayor.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
But this is very unique.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
He's a socialist. He's come out and said he is
a socialist. Proud yeah, proudly a socialist. The New York Times.
I think this is funny because this is very telling.
The New York Times a few years ago came out
and said they're not going to endorse in local elections anymore.
Not not, they just want to be regular news. They're
not going to do it. They're not regular news. They're Democrats.

(03:36):
They endorsed against him.

Speaker 5 (03:39):
Yeah, it's it's fascinating to watch because it's you have
you have the element of the media, which you just described,
but then you also have the party, and you've got
you have the situation where now a Democrat is the Demo,
a socialist is the Democrat nominee for the mayor of
New York. He's got, I think, a very good chance
of winning. We'll see what how Marrick Adams does as

(04:01):
an independent candidate. Can he, you know, mount the coalition
that he did in twenty twenty one to get re
elected as an independent.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
That's going to be interesting to see.

Speaker 5 (04:10):
But you've got this situation where I would I don't
know if quote unquote mainstream democrats actually exist anymore. But
you have sort of the establishment Democrats who don't want
to embrace Memdannie because they know he may be able
to win in a place like New York City, but
can he win in marginal districts? Can he win in

(04:32):
communities where socialism is not embraced well not yet, not.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
Yet, And that's they're not ready yet to go there.
But the others, the leaders of their parties are embracing this.
They're cheering this on, and I think they have been
for a long time.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
But the story of.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Mamdannie or whatever his name is, I think is something
we have to kind of dig into because this is
a kid who, as you aptly pointed out earlier, is
he's been groomed for this here. He came to this country.
He is a rich kid. He's a rich kid, like
people need to understand. He grew up on the Upper

(05:08):
West Side of Manhattan. This is not a kid that's
brought himself out of nothing. I mean, Eric Adams is
really the guy who's brought himself up from nothing, but
he wants to He's like moderately rich, you know, in
the millions. And I say that because he says he
hates billionaires. And when you can conveniently land in that spot.
If your parents have millions of dollars, you can conveniently

(05:30):
land in the spot where you are not going to
be affected by all of the policies that you put
into place, and you can try to attack the billionaire class,
but you ultimately are creating this communist society.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
And the reason that.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
This is is because this is a kid who came
into the United States. He went to college in Maine.
He graduated in twenty fourteen, so he's also a kid.
I keep saying that because he's young. He graduated in
twenty fourteen with a degree in African studies. I'm sure
that's going to help him as mayor, you know, having
that hardcore degree in economics. Oh no, it's African studies.

(06:07):
And he also think about this. So he graduated in
twenty fourteen, so it must have been like twenty eleven,
twenty twelve. He forms he co founds the school's chapter
for Students for Justice in Palestine. I think a lot
of people would be shocked to hear that, because I
think a lot of people would assume that that's something
new that they're just hearing about. So think about this

(06:29):
more than ten years ago, this kid was already forming
chapters of the organization who I will say, I guarantee
you that organization funded him. This idea that he has
a grassroots campaign in New York. This charmer has gone
around and just gotten all these people to come out
of the woodwork. There is massive money behind him.

Speaker 5 (06:48):
Sure, and that's what happens is you've got he's involved
with the Democratic Socialists for America. He's very he embraces them,
you know, in a lot of ways that other socialist
sort of you know, they pretend like to socialists, but
he is, he is, he's embracing it in a very
full throat, full throated way.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
And yeah, let's listen to his own words. We've got
cut one here. This is him saying this.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
The struggle for Palestinian liberation was at the core of
my politics and continues to be.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
So this is this.

Speaker 5 (07:22):
Is the core me So what does that mean? What
does Palestinian liberation mean? It means it ends the quote
unquote occupation. I would argue that they don't want Israel
to even be a state from the river to Dirise.
It's it's to eliminate Israel. And so when he said.
This was twenty twenty three. He said this at the

(07:43):
Democratic Socialists of America convention when he said, the struggle
for Palestinian liberation was at the core of my politics
and continues to be. That's his worldview, that's how he
is going to view every decision that he is making
if he's in that position in New York York City.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
So votreer post October seventh, I.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
Think that was pre but I don't know the answer either.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
Either one is scary, but post just two weeks after that,
he is out there and he's screaming at Senator Jillibrand,
listen to this.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
This is cut two.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
The last thing.

Speaker 6 (08:24):
I have to say is one more chant.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
Senator Job, we whoa not stop?

Speaker 2 (08:41):
This is an activist.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
This is not yes exactly.

Speaker 5 (08:45):
And so so think about the situation that New York
City voters are in here.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
You have this guy.

Speaker 5 (08:50):
He's he literally says, the last thing I have to
say is one more chant. It's not how do we
create jobs, how do we make sure people can afford
rent and groceries, all of those sorts of things. It's
the last thing I have to say is one more chant.
And then he's demanding a ceasefire. Now, don't forget, as
you said. Two weeks after October seventh, he is in

(09:11):
the street with a bullhorn, screaming so loud that his
voice is cracking, demanding a seasfire.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
But it's the people behind him that make me nervous,
because that is not I will say again, this is
not an organic movement. This is a movement that is
well funded. I mean people have said, you go one
day they've got Palestinian flags, the next day they've got
Iranian flags. They didn't go out and buy those flags.

(09:37):
Someone is providing this. This is a well funded organization.
He has been groomed for this four years from this
group of Free Palestine, the river to the sea, these
chants which are death to Israel, death to America. You
cannot tell me that's not what this means. And two
weeks after women were murdered, women were raped, children were

(10:00):
ragged out of their homes, their grandparents were killed in
front of them, this is what this guy says in
the most Jewish city in America, and people and Democrats
will not condemn this, and let's be let's be honest.
He also said, has this statement out there globalize the Intifada,
and he's been asked multiple times. He was asked three

(10:22):
times just the other night, do you condemn that kind
of language?

Speaker 2 (10:25):
And he said he won't. He won't answer the question.
He says he doesn't condemn condemned speech.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
So we're going to take a quick break here. But
before we take this break, I just want to remind
you guys that you can call into the show. We're
going to take calls at the end of each hour.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
We want to hear.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
This is like we're going into the fourth of July,
this is the beginning. We're headed into America fifty. We
want to hear about what you're doing to celebrate America.
I know you guys are on road trips. Tell us
where you are, tell us what's going on, tell us
how the traffic is, tell us what your plans are
for the I mean, you can call in for anything,
but we want to hear about America because we're headed

(11:04):
into the greatest celebration of America you've ever seen. It's
going to be great because we know President Trump's going
to make it great.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
So stay tuned.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
We're talking more about this Mandami Mania after this break.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
But we'll be right back.

Speaker 6 (11:17):
Stay tuned, Saving America one thought at a time and Clay,
Travis and Buck Sexton. Find them on the free iHeartRadio
app or wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
I'm Tutor Dixon and I host the Tutor Dixon Podcast
right on the Clay and Buck podcast Network. We have
episodes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We talk about all
the news of the day, the stuff that they're talking
about right here on the Clay and Bucks Show. So
I want you to check out the Tutor Dixon Podcast
right now. I am excited because I'm coming to live

(11:51):
from the Wood Radio Studios in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I
think you've heard Clay talk about Michigan because he's been
in Michigan for a few.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
Weeks now, I think, and he's in northern Michigan.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
I saw him post something about how Michigan is a
total gem, and he's exactly right.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
It is a total gem.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
I have Kyle Olsen with me from The Midwesterner, and
he's a lifelong Michigander, so you can speak to that.

Speaker 5 (12:13):
Yeah, it's a beautiful state and I think it's been
harmed by our leadership, which we're trying to change, but
it's a great place to be.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
And you'll hear people talking about us being a border state.
We are a northern border state. We border Canada, and
there have been people that have been coming across Canada.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
So we actually a few weeks ago, we had.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
The Secretary of Homeland Security Christinome, in the state of Michigan,
and she was talking about the importance of reducing border
crossings and all this and Trump. Let's face it, President
Trump has had an incredible week. He's got border crossings
down to like nothing. He just got the big beautiful
bill signed through the Senate. Egg prices are down, gas

(12:55):
prices are down. Things are going amazingly. But yesterday Christinome
is interviewed and she said something that was totally horrifying
to me. She said that they had deported somebody who
was a cannibal, and she got a call while they
were getting him out of the country that on the
way out of the country, he started trying to eat

(13:18):
himself and had to immediately be taken for medical attention.

Speaker 5 (13:22):
Right, and and so this narrative that we see in
the mainstream media is look at this person who you know,
look at this child, that was arrested. Look at the families,
you know, being separated in all of that. They're trying
to isolate those those specific stories. But what the Trump
administration is doing is is rounding up these you know, killers,

(13:44):
ra rais, yes, terrible people and getting them out of
the country. Getting them out of the country. That has
been their focus is the violent convicts, et cetera, the
people who should not be in the country.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
So you talk about these people and in you all
need to understand what the undercurrent is from the Democrats,
from these socialists. They wanted these people here and this
wasn't a mistake. You have to understand, it wasn't a
mistake that Biden and Harris had.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
The border open for four years.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
Now they're mad because they don't want these people to
be pushed out of the country. These are their socialist voters.
These And the funny thing is the amount of times
that I've heard these people go, who's going to clean
my house?

Speaker 2 (14:28):
Who's going to nanny my kids?

Speaker 1 (14:29):
I'm like, really, that's that's your argument, Like these people,
I own these people.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
How can you send them away?

Speaker 1 (14:36):
I mean, they don't they have no shame in treating
people like they're not humans, but they say, that's what's
happening when we take truly dangerous people.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
Out of the country.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
But I bring this up because there's this new app
out there and CNN. I want to play cut seven
because CNN talked about this new app and they talk
about it like this is some fantastic piece of equipment.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Here here's what they had to say about this new app.

Speaker 7 (15:03):
One tech developer is pushing back with an app designed
to track ice activity in real time.

Speaker 6 (15:09):
It's called ice flock and it's controversial, to say the least.

Speaker 3 (15:12):
Santa Claire Duffy is with us.

Speaker 6 (15:15):
Now, how does this work, Claire and what are the
legal implications?

Speaker 8 (15:19):
Yeah, John, I talked with Joshua Aaron, who is the
longtime tech worker who developed this platform, and he said
he really wants it to be an early warning system
for people about the location of immigrations and customs enforcement officers.
So he says he does not want people interfering with
those officers activity, but he does want people to be
able to avoid them altogether if they want so. You

(15:41):
open the app. It looks like a map and users
can tap the map to report an ice sighting in
their area. And then everybody who uses the platform within
five miles of that siding will get a push alert.
This is a free iPhone app.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
It is anonymous.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
This is insane to me. And she's she's out there
on CNA and pushing this like she's selling it. I mean,
she sounded like a salesperson for this app. You've heard
people criticizing ICE for having these masks on. Remember these
people who are going out and busting these guys, they
live in these communities, they're being docksed. Now you've got

(16:17):
an app to say this is where they are go
after them. And she says, she goes on to say
in that interview, well, he doesn't want them to go
interfere He's just this is just a warning system.

Speaker 5 (16:29):
Boloney, right, Yeah, what they want is a confrontation. They
want confusion, they want chaos, which of course creates very
dangerous situations for the ICE agents, for local police, state police, sheriffs,
people that are going in again to arrest dangerous felons,
people who are wanted for horrible crimes, either in America

(16:51):
or in their home country. There's a new website. I
don't know if you've heard of this. It's called deported
dot News, Deported dot News, and they're publishing stories every
single day. And to me, one of the most important
parts of the site is they actually have a captured
section where they're profiling all of these sorts of people.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
So as you know, these are not good people.

Speaker 5 (17:14):
So as you're hearing the horror stories what they want
to be horror stories from CNN, you can go on
that site and you can see mugshots, names, home countries, crimes,
et cetera. And it's all listed right there. And so
as as they are pushing this narrative that oh, these
are just you know, poor, you know, farm workers from

(17:35):
different countries, No, these are cold blooded killers, terrorists, rapists, robbers,
terrible people that should not be in our country.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
The SOB stories make me sick.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
I mean, yesterday we were hearing that they were comparing
these people who have committed horrific crimes in some cases
have murdered people, as you just said, rape people. Oh,
these poor people they're having to hide, like Ann Frank.
What an insight on so many levels to even compare
and Frank's situation to this, it's it's discussed.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
That's how sick they are.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
This is the manipulation of the left. And it's something
that we just saw here in Michigan. In Detroit, there
was well, this was just a couple of days ago.
These these ice officers go to raid a house. Now
remember the people who did this to the ice officers.
They're chasing after them. They had to pepper the ice

(18:29):
officers had to pepper spray these people. If you saw this,
They're chasing after them with cars. They are pushing their
way into the house, trying to push the officers aside.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
They're screaming, they're yelling.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
This is a dangerous situation all the way around these bystanders.
They could that are that are screaming at these ice officers,
they could get hurt.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
They're also doing this having no.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
Idea who these guys are going to get. They have
no idea who's in their neighborhood.

Speaker 5 (18:55):
Correct, and so it's creating very chaotic, dangerous situations forever
everyone else who is just there trying to live their lives.
But this is this is the hill that progressives and
leftists are dying, are going to die on. They this
is the issue immigration, illegal immigration. They want to defend
everyone that's in this country for whatever reason. But when

(19:18):
you look at the No Kings protests from a couple
of weeks ago, it was about immigration. The riots that
happened in Los Angeles a couple of weeks ago, that
was about immigration.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
But these are the same groups that these are not.
These riots are not they're not unfunded, they're not organic.
They are being.

Speaker 1 (19:38):
Funded by these groups that then push up people like
Mom Donnie. These are groups that have massive amounts of money.
They are busting these people places. All these people aren't
just showing up. But then they have these useful idiots.
They use this app to have useful idiots go out there.
They think they're like these vigilantees for justice and they're

(19:59):
saving people's lives, and yet they are causing the disruption
and the chaos that the enemy of the United States
wants whomever that should be, and that might be the Iranians,
because we've already caught fifteen hundred Iranian nationals that came
in under Biden. So this open border was incredibly dangerous.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
It was letting in enemies.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
There were seven hundred who were on the terror watch list.
These are dangerous people, and yet these apps like this
are I don't know if they're created by useful idiots,
but they're used by useful idiots. And now they're having
They're no longer the party of the working class, they're
no longer the party of the minority. They're having their

(20:44):
groups clash. You've got I mean, you brought up to
ported dot News. They've got a story about Portland, Oregon.
Now they've got their African American residents that are mad
because these protesters are outside of their windows every night.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
Right.

Speaker 5 (20:57):
So you've got a city like Portland where there's a
detention center, and so you have these agitators outside being loud,
being disruptive, and the people who are probably Democrats living
in Portland are saying, get out of our city. And
so you've got this clash going on. But you mentioned,
I mean, think about that fifteen hundred Iranians. And there

(21:21):
was one that I.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
Saw just during the Biden administration.

Speaker 5 (21:23):
Correct, there was one I saw on deported dot News
that was captured. He was a sniper in the Iranian army.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
And it's like the Army the chance death to America.

Speaker 5 (21:36):
The Biden administration. What just gets me is you go
back to inauguration day and President Trump was sworn in
at noon and it was like twelve oh one. Tom
Holman Ice started these raids and because they knew, they
knew where they were, which means the Biden administration knew

(21:58):
where these people were and nothing.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
Yeah, yeah, well Tom Holman is that guy is no nonsense.
I actually love hearing Tom Holman out there because he's
so no nonsense and he never his demeanor never changes.
It's always like deadpan. Yeah, we're going after these guys.
I don't care if you're yelling at me. I'm eating
an apple. I don't have time for this.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
It's just I love it.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
It's hilarious, but it's also very serious at the same time. Hey, guys, listen,
stick around because we have some information that we just
found out this week about China interfering in the twenty
twenty election. Yeah, that's right, I said, twenty twenty China
tried to interfere. We've got the goods, we have the
evidence of that. So stay tuned. We'll be right back,

(22:41):
and don't forget call in at the end of the
hour eight hundred to eight two too, eight eight two.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
We'll talk to you. Then stay tuned. We'll be back
with the China information.

Welcome back to the Clan Bucks Show. If you're just
joining us, I'm Tutor Dixon. I'm filling in for Clan
Buck while they're off celebrating America.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
This week.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
I'm broadcasting live from the Wood Radio Studios here in
beautiful Grand Repids, Michigan. I have the United States Secretary
of Education, Linda McMahon back with me today to talk
about one of those promises made, promises kept.

Speaker 2 (23:27):
Secretary. Welcome back, Thank.

Speaker 4 (23:29):
You, Tutor. It's a pleasure to be with you again today.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
Well, I am so excited about why you're here, because
you have a big announcement.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
Just last night you announced that you.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
Have something happening with the University of Pennsylvania, and I'm
going to let you talk about it.

Speaker 4 (23:45):
Well, I'm very excited and happy to announce what I
think is is really a landmark case and a victory
for the president for the Trump administration because he announced
you know, or or he talked about it when he
was campaigning, how unfair he thought it was that men
participated in women's towards. So one of the first things
he did early February when he came into office, she

(24:07):
was to sign this executive order about men not being
able to play in women's towards. And shortly thereafter a
day or two, I can say that the Office of
Civil Rights, he with the Department of Education, took up
that mantle and an investigated the University of Pennsylvania. Now
that had been on the docket, if you will, during

(24:30):
the Biden administration, but the Biden administration didn't do anything
about it. They just kind of ignored it. But we
decided that this was something we absolutely should take up.
This was the case if you recall where Riley Gains
was competing against Leah Thomas in swimming at the University
of Pennsylvania and tied with Leah in their race, and

(24:54):
Riley left without a trophy, But she competed against a
man that she should have gotten. If it had been
a woman, she would have been far ahead in that race.
So that really became a landmark case for discussion in
the country. It's one that we focused then on with
the University of Pennsylvania and then Paula Scanlon, who also

(25:16):
was on the swimming team and testified before Congress. You
know that the women on the team were actually given
psychological counseling on how to change in their intimate spaces
in locker rooms in front of men.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
That is shocking, is that was shocking.

Speaker 4 (25:33):
It is clearly unfair, It flies in the face of
common sense, and it is a clear violation of Title nine.
And so our investigation and through our negotiations back and
forth with the University of Pennsylvania, they signed the resolution
and now men will not compete in women's sports at

(25:53):
the University of Pennsylvania. They have also agreed to send
a letter of apology to the women to run the
sports teams that men played against. You know, they've also
agreed that tom they're going to send a notification to
any of the people that they deal with, contractors or
whatever that this is how the University of Pennsylvania is

(26:15):
going to do business. So I am really very very
pleased with this outcome, and it's a great victory for
women to compete against women in their sports. You know,
women and girls fought so hard for Title nine. To
be able to have access to swarts and to be
able to have access to the comparable training rooms, et cetera,

(26:38):
and then to have it kind of yanked out from
under them by this interpretation of sideleline is just wrong.
And I'm very happy you know where we are today.

Speaker 1 (26:46):
Well, And Madam Secretary, I just want to say that
as we saw Donald Trump building his cabinet, I knew
that he had picked the right person when he put
you in charge of the Department of ED, because I
knew you would be a champion for GS. I know
what sports mean to you, and I know what fairness
means to you. And as you were just talking about
this and you're saying these girls underwent psychological testing, I mean, really,

(27:10):
what we're talking about is a university behind the scenes
that was using psychological techniques to almost brainwash these women
into saying this is acceptable. You need to accept this
and put yourself aside. This is a clear violation of
Title nine. And this is just the beginning. But I
am so impressed that here we are, just really a

(27:32):
few months into this administration and you have already been
able to accomplish this. This announcement to me.

Speaker 2 (27:39):
Is very big. I'm a mother of four girls. To me,
this is a huge announcement coming out of the Department
of Ed.

Speaker 4 (27:45):
Well, it certainly is. And if Donald Trump had not
been elected president, you would not see this action being taken.
But as I said, he campaigned on this, he was
true to his word, and when he had the signing
of this executive order and East Room in the White House,
he was surrounded by girls and women of all ages,
and he was very proud so to sign this executive order.

(28:08):
And I'm really pleased with the investigations that we have
undertaken and that the University of Pennsylvania. Hopefully this settlement
and this agreement will become kind of the prototype for
the universities to come on board and to make sure
that they are adhering or you know, we will continue
investigating other universities. It's just like we did Pennsylvania.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
Is this connected to federal funding? Why have they agreed
to this? Because to me, when I look at this
and I say they're going to restore all records, titles,
and any recognition to female athletes that were taken from
them by male athletes, that is something I think all
of us thought. No matter what happens, the records are
permanently damaged. And how can any woman compete against the

(28:54):
past when the past is not accurate? And yet you
have accomplished this, you will restore that in this agreement.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
How did you get them to agree to this?

Speaker 4 (29:03):
Well, certainly the big club is federal funding, and there
was approximate one hundred and seventy five million dollars at STAY.
And so now that funding, of which came you know,
from a couple of different agencies other than the Department
of Education, you know, will be restored. Predominant amount of
it was from AHHS. So we're we're happy that that

(29:25):
funding will be restored. But also we are saying we
mean business, and the federal government does have the right
to withhold funding if you're not in compliance, and we
will not take any of those tools off the table.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
I think that's something that we need to make sure
people understand because there will be criticism, Oh, this is
some sort of extortion.

Speaker 2 (29:46):
You only get this money.

Speaker 1 (29:47):
If you do this. This is protecting women. I mean
Title nine has been in effect since the seventies, and
yet we are still here today in twenty twenty five,
fighting for it and I want to be clear. This
is if you cannot comply with law, you cannot have
the taxpayers money.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
Isn't that correct?

Speaker 9 (30:06):
Correct?

Speaker 4 (30:07):
We definitely are very serious about enforcing Title nine. It
is the law. And girls shouldn't have to be competing
in sports in which they are afraid they're going to
be hurt or they know that it's not a level
playing field. Boys are bigger and stronger and faster, and
they have an unfair advantage. And also, you know, they

(30:30):
need to feel safe in the sports that they're competing against,
not worried are they going to get their face smashed
by volleyball or you know that other things are going
to be happening to them. I mean, Stephanie Turner took
a knee rather than participate in her fencing competition. She
was going to be competing against a boy, and she
knew that was not fair, and she was afraid and

(30:50):
she took a knee. Women and girls should not be
put in those positions. We fought so hard with Title nine,
you know, to gain access to women's sports and a
fair playing field and and equal training facilities, and now
to just have that kind of yanked away or this
interpretation is wrong. The courts have ruled that it's wrong,

(31:12):
and the Title nine should be interpreted as Britain that
women have access to their sorts, facilities, et cetera. And
it's based on sex.

Speaker 1 (31:22):
So this is kind of a landmark agreement that you
have with the University of Pennsylvania. I mean, we're even
talking about they now have to accept biology based definitions
for the words male and female.

Speaker 2 (31:33):
To me, that is groundbreaking.

Speaker 1 (31:36):
And I say that knowing that ten years ago that
would be a ridiculous statement, but that's where we are today.
But I say that also knowing that this is one
school of many. So how does the Department of Ed
tackle the entire country that has gone woke and has
taken away sports from so many women and trophies from

(31:56):
so many women.

Speaker 4 (31:57):
Well, hopefully this landmark with the University of Pennsylvania is
going to be the roadmap for other universities to follow.
And they don't know we're serious because there is a
fair amount of federal money for many of these universities.
And if they are receiving federal funding, then they have
to know that that funding can be frozen or taken

(32:19):
away if they are not in compliance with the law.

Speaker 1 (32:23):
What was it like when you were able to sit
down with some of these female athletes like Riley Gaines
and say, this is what's going to happen. You're going
to be there alongside us when we make this announcement.
Riley has fought so hard for this. I know that
the other women that were there as well, Paula has
also fought so hard for this.

Speaker 2 (32:42):
What was their reaction to this?

Speaker 4 (32:44):
Well, I know that they are thrilled to know that
finally action has been taken and that their messaging has
not gone in vain. All of the miles they've traveled,
all the interviews that they have done, all of the
counseling that they have done to young women and to
girls has not been in vain, and that they now

(33:05):
have some not just win that they're back, they certainly
have been confirmed that they were on the right track
and that their motives and their actions are justified.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
Absolutely, so, I just want to reiterate this is a
landmark agreement that we're announcing today. This is just fresh
off of the press. Really, this is just happening, breaking news.
The University of Pennsylvania will restore all records, titles, and
recognitions to female athletes. They will issue a public statement
that says they will comply with Title nine and that

(33:40):
it will be specifically to they won't allow men to
compete in women's sports. They will also adopt biology based
definitions for the words male and female. They will rescind
all guidance that violates our air or is inconsistent with
Title nine, and they will send personalized apology letters to
each swim, each female swimmer who was impacted by this.

(34:03):
Secretary McMahon, you did this. You and President Trump, I
know you will keep fighting. This is a huge moment
for women across the country, but it's a huge moment
for this administration. I just want to close getting your
feelings on what it's like to be a part of
this and stand next to the president in such an
important moment.

Speaker 4 (34:25):
Well, it's incredibly exciting to be able to do exactly
what he said he was going to do. And I
want to commend the Department of Education and our Office
of Civil Rights for working so hard on this investigation
and for developing this agreement with the University of Pennsylvania.

Speaker 1 (34:46):
Absolutely, we cannot be more thrilled. I'm so glad that
you came on today to share it with us.

Speaker 2 (34:50):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
Secretary Linda McMahon, Thank you. Promise has made, promises kept.
This is just amazing news. Everyone stick around. We want

Speaker 2 (36:09):
Right now, we are in.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
The Wood Radio Studios right here, alive in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
I have Kyle Olsen with me. He is from the
Midwesterner dot News. You should check it out. He runs
writes great stories every day. Right now, I want to
get into what's happening with the Big Beautiful Bill, which
seems to be kind of a pause at the moment,

(36:31):
because we're hearing out of Washington that we've got Thomas
Massey who seems to like to be a flying the ointment.
But you don't necessarily always disagree with him because he's
complaining about the debt ceiling, and I can understand he
doesn't want to keep spending. But right now he supposedly

(36:52):
is out there saying that he has a vote block
of ten people, so he's convinced ten Republicans to vote. Know,
but we're here that there is negotiations in a White
House as we speak. Obviously we know the art of
the deal. We know this president is great at closing deals.

Speaker 2 (37:09):
It'll be interesting to see what.

Speaker 1 (37:10):
Happens in the next few hours if they're gonna wear
people down and people will come out and vote for this.

Speaker 5 (37:16):
Kyle right, And you've got so basically what's happening is
you have a very narrow majority in the House of Representatives,
and the block that Massey says he has ten, I
mean that unless you've got Democrats voting for this, that
sinks the bill. Yeah, And so that's why I think,
you know, sort of bigger picture here, that's why it's

(37:38):
so important that the Republicans maintain and expand their majority
in the House because President Trump's agenda if they don't
keep the House, it's his agenda is for his last
two years is gets very complicated.

Speaker 2 (37:52):
And all the.

Speaker 1 (37:53):
Work that we've done in the last four years to
get President Trump back into the White House. You know
the maloney that we went through in twenty twenty, and
we just talked about what we had John Solomon on
the podcast talking about that there was interference attempted interference
in the twenty twenty election from from China.

Speaker 2 (38:12):
John Solomon was telling us.

Speaker 1 (38:13):
That and so we know that now we know we
fought so hard to get him another four years, the
idea of having people step out of the House to
run for other offices, and then ultimately Donald Trump doesn't
actually get those last two years. If we have to
go through this impeachment, Bologney and all that crap again,
that will be a nightmare.

Speaker 2 (38:34):
But you do have You do have a lot of
controversy over this bill.

Speaker 1 (38:37):
I want to talk about Elon Musker a minute, because
he's come out and he has criticized the bill.

Speaker 2 (38:42):
He doesn't like it.

Speaker 1 (38:43):
He doesn't again, he doesn't like the you have a
debt He said, what's the point of having a debt
ceiling if you raise the debt ceiling.

Speaker 2 (38:50):
I think what he's finding out.

Speaker 1 (38:52):
Is something that many of us who have had these
altruistic feelings about government get into the machine and we
see how the sausage is made, and you go, this
is not as great as you thought it was. You've
got all of these people from across the country, four
hundred and thirty five representatives from across the country who
and and you've got one hundred senators from across the country.

(39:14):
So you've got all of these people that have to
come together and make a decision on this bill. But
you have different You've got people from urban places, you've
got people from rural places. Like I said, fifty different states.
Everybody wants to get their piece of the pie into
this bill. Now we've had people say we should we
should limit it to one issue per bill.

Speaker 2 (39:35):
We'd be it'll be a bill.

Speaker 3 (39:37):
Every day, right right.

Speaker 5 (39:38):
And so you've got the situation where the President apparently
as we're speaking, is negotiating and is, you know, talking
through these issues with these holdouts. But the majority matters.
You know, we just saw the other day Don Bacon,
a representative from Nebraska, announced he's going to be he's

(40:00):
going to be retiring. Why does that matter because his
district in twenty twenty four, his district was won by
Kamala Harris fifty four to forty five. In twenty twenty
Joe Biden won that district. That's going to be a
very competitive district. It's going to be very difficult for
Republicans to win and keep that seat. Here in Michigan

(40:21):
where we're sitting, John James, who represents McComb County, which
is the home of Reagan Democrats. President Trump won Macomb County,
but John James has decided to leave the House and
he's running for governor, so that now is another seat
that Republicans are going to have to spend probably millions
and millions of dollars to defend. So you go across

(40:44):
the map and it's not going to be And then historically,
you know, you just look at statistics and history, the
party in power, which of course is the Republicans, lose
seats in the midterm. So they've got history against them.
They've got Republicans who are deciding to retire or they're
seeking promotions.

Speaker 3 (41:04):
It's a very.

Speaker 5 (41:05):
Difficult situation for Republicans and in every single one of
these matters, because I think the Democrats have been very
clear if they get the majority, they're going to do
impeachment all over again.

Speaker 1 (41:17):
Of course it will be if they get the majority,
we will be in a world of hurt. And so
I think that is why people are frustrated with what
Elon Musk is putting out, because he's saying that he's
going to primary anybody who votes for this bill. He's
going to primary them. I mean, obviously he has endless money,
but is that really worth it?

Speaker 2 (41:36):
Would you really go to that extreme? Senator Marshall I
think was kind of funny. This is cut eleven.

Speaker 1 (41:44):
They were asking him, well, what do you think about
what Elon Musk is saying? And this, I think is
the answer to your concerns. Kyle.

Speaker 2 (41:51):
Here is what he had to say.

Speaker 7 (41:53):
Oh, look, I'll take President Trump's endorsement over Elon's any
tay you the week back home, Look, we need to
pass this bill because the episode phil President Trump's agenda.
His priorities were to.

Speaker 3 (42:03):
Secure the board, to bring back cross.

Speaker 7 (42:04):
Parity and security. I think if we do those things,
if we bring back cross purred and security, we're going
to get re elected. Elon's continuing his little spat. We're
ignoring him. Let's get this feel across the finish line.

Speaker 2 (42:16):
They're ignoring him. They want to move on, move on.

Speaker 1 (42:19):
President Trump has the most impressive team in history. I mean,
people have said this is a historic comeback. Nobody has
done what he did, what Susie Wilds did, what James
Blair did, what Chris Lasavita did. These are people who
are not going to just allow this to get mucked
up in the midterms to have Elon Musk go in

(42:39):
and primary people. They're going to make sure that Donald
Trump is heavily involved, and like you just heard the
Senator say, his endorsement means so much because.

Speaker 2 (42:51):
We've seen this in Michigan. There is a faction of
people who would like to kill America first. And I'm
talking about Republicans who would like to kill America first.
But JA, James Blair, Susie Wiles, Chris los Avida, they
are not going to let that happen to Donald Trump.
They're going to have JD. Vance involved, They're going to
have Donald Trump involved. They are going to be helping
to make sure that he has that majority, that his

(43:13):
policies are enacted, that he gets those last two years
to do what he so desperately needs to do to
make sure we say this country right.

Speaker 5 (43:21):
And so this it's not just about this bill. There's
a much bigger thing going on where it's the entire
Trump agenda. And if they're willing to kill the whole
Trump agenda because of one bill, well, then the last
two the last two years of the of the Trump
administration is going to be investigations, subpoena's, court hearings, and

(43:47):
then ultimately impeachment.

Speaker 1 (43:48):
Well it's interesting if you are thinking about not voting
for this bill.

Speaker 2 (43:52):
And you can hear me right now.

Speaker 1 (43:53):
You should know that Donald Trump is like the most
popular president in history right now, because we've got this
cut ten where they talk about CNN is talking about
how people feel about Donald Trump. So all of you
out there that are just sitting in your offices waiting
to go in there and vote, the American people are
with Trump.

Speaker 2 (44:12):
So listen to this. Here it is.

Speaker 9 (44:15):
And get this. Donald Trump beats Reagan when it comes
to the strongly approved five months. And of course Reagan
was coming off dot high after that assassination attempt. So
the bottom line is Donald Trump is making history with
the Republican base. He is more beloved by this Republican
base than any Republican base loved any GOP president five months.

Speaker 6 (44:36):
And it is history making.

Speaker 2 (44:38):
It is history making. Okay.

Speaker 1 (44:40):
So if you're sitting there on the fence, if you
were one of those Republicans saying I don't think I
want to enact Donald Trump's agenda, that the American people
are making history with their love for President Trump right now,
So get off your duff and make the right decision.

Speaker 5 (44:55):
And he was during the campaign, he was very clear
there's a lot of politicians that sort of hide what
they want to do. He was very clear about deportations,
securing the border, everything else. He is enacting his agenda,
and there's people standing in his way, and he's identifying
those people that are standing in his way. And again,
this is much bigger than just this bill. He's got

(45:15):
a whole agenda that he wants to do over the
next three and a half years.

Speaker 2 (45:19):
Yes, so buckle up. When we were there, we were
actually there at the White.

Speaker 1 (45:24):
House on the first two hundred days when we were
celebrating the one hundred days, and I remember one of
the women that work there, she looked at me. I said,
how's it going, And she was like, I'm kind of
hoping we slow down a little bit. He goes so fast,
he's got so much going on. I'm hoping now that
it's been one hundred days, we can take a breath.
And I just laughed and looked at her and I
was like, no, you're never This man never slows down.

(45:46):
You are never taking a breath. President Trump keeps winning.
This week, he is winning. The border crossings, as we said,
almost non existent. The Senate passed the big beautiful bill.
Now We're waiting for all of these Republicans. Like I said,
don't make this mistake. Make sure you get this passed.
You guys want to go celebrate America. Go celebrate America
after you pass this bill. Egg prices are down, gas

(46:08):
prices are down. CBS is settling over what they did
to the President. It's all good for President Trump. And
don't forget. At the end of this hour, we want
to hear from you. At the very end of the show,
please call eight hundred two eight two two eight eight two.

Speaker 2 (46:22):
Stay tuned. We'll be back with more after this.
