The AOC of TN Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District special election and the Democrats’ strategy to flip a deep-red seat. A high-stakes congressional race in Clay calls his home district. Democrats are pouring millions into this special election scheduled for December 2, hoping low Republican turnout during the holiday season will flip a Trump +20 seat. Clay warns that the Democratic candidate, Aftyn Behn, has an extreme record—supporting defunding police, cheering riots, and even chasing ICE agents—while Republicans must mobilize early voting to prevent a major upset. This race could become a national narrative ahead of the midterms, making turnout critical. Vote for Matt Van Epps! A focus on Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District special election, where candidate Matt Van Epps joins the show to discuss early voting deadlines, district confusion, and the stakes of stopping what he calls a “radical left-wing agenda.” Van Epps emphasizes key issues like affordability, inflation, energy independence, and tax cuts, while outlining his vision for supporting veterans, law enforcement, and working families. He also details the district’s geography—from Clarksville and Fort Campbell to Nashville and Franklin—and urges listeners to vote before Thanksgiving or on Election Day, December 2. Our Friend Kayleigh McEnany White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany analyzes recent judicial rulings dismissing cases against Letitia James and James Comey, explaining why these decisions were procedural rather than merit-based and how the Trump administration can refile. McEnany also weighs in on Marjorie Taylor Greene’s resignation, the GOP’s messaging on affordability, and innovative housing and tax proposals from President Trump’s administration, including no tax on tips and overtime. She highlights Trump’s economic record, contrasting it with Biden-era inflation, and predicts a political boomerang effect in the midterms. Listeners also hear candid insights on family, career balance, and motherhood from McEnany, followed by a lighter segment on the viral “Whispering Angel” rosé controversy involving Clay Travis. The hour closes with audience calls discussing Trump’s strategic approach to New York’s socialist policies, the impact of federal law enforcement in Memphis, and speculation about future Democratic leadership. Clay and Buck tease upcoming analysis on Venezuela, MTG’s political fallout, and Trump’s diplomatic chess moves with global leaders. Clay Meets the Pope Clay shares an exclusive story about his private Vatican tour, meeting the Pope, and exploring historical maps from the Age of Exploration, while Buck reveals his family’s genealogical ties to John Speed, Queen Elizabeth I’s chief cartographer. The conversation shifts to reflections on ancient Rome, the Coliseum’s role in sports history, and critiques of Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations as “philosophy lite,” even noting Bill Clinton’s admiration for the text. Clay contrasts America’s youth with Europe’s deep history, citing experiences in Italy, Greece, and Israel, and thanks ambassadors appointed by the Trump administration for facilitating his trip. Political analysis takes center stage with discussion of Marjorie Taylor Greene’s decision to leave Congress, framed as part of a troubling trend where “crazy” behavior is rewarded in media. The hosts critique social media’s lack of accountability and ego-driven infighting on the right, warning that attention-seeking undermines conservative principles. They praise President Donald Trump for his decisive strike on Iran, arguing it brought stability to the Middle East without American casualties and strengthened the Abraham Accords.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back in Clay Travis buck Sexton show. Okay, I
want to give a little bit of a lead up, Buck,
because there is a race that is going to happen
eight days from now. They are one billion percent relying
on the fact that lots of Republicans are not going

(00:20):
to show up and vote.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
And this is a.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
Race that the White House has gotten involved in that
we don't have a very substantial majority in the House. Democrats,
coming off of the win in Virginia and the win
in New Jersey, are pouring money and resources like crazy
into this race. It is the Tennessee seventh Congressional district.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
This is a big district.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
It stretches all the way up to basically Fort Campbell.
For many of you out there that are in the
military or have served, you know, Fort Campbell goes all
the way to the border basically with Kentucky, all the
way to the border with Alabama on the south side.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
I'm in this district.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
They cut Nashville into three different congressional districts. I am
in this district. The congressman is retiring Mark green All.
They are trying to pull off a huge upset. And
let me give you an idea Buck. This is a
headline right now in the Bulwark I'm reading from. This
is the What was the initial impetus of the Bulwark.

(01:28):
It was like, we're the Trump Republicans who the anti
Trump Republicans like that, the real Republicans. That was their
entire existence for now they're basically just like all they
do is vote for Democrats, right, I mean they basically
are a Democrat operative now. This is what they wrote.

(01:48):
This is a story up on their site. The seventh
Tennessee district is reliably Republican. Trump carried it by twenty
two percentage points in twenty four Green won his last
two races by a similar margin. It includes parts of
Williamson County, one of the wealthiest counties in the country.
The Fort Campbell Military Base also falls within the district,

(02:11):
along with a vast swath of rural farmland. Perhaps the
most tantalizing for Democrats listen to this. A number of
MAGA fire brands live in or near the district, like
conservative sports radio personality Clay Travis, YouTuber Brett Cooper, and
right wing podcaster Candae Owens. Imagine as an example, the

(02:36):
psychic shock of a Republican emerging victorious in the movie
star enclave of Beverly Hills, Tennessee. Seven isn't where the
two political parties tend to fight it out, but they
have poured tons of money in here. And here's what
they're relying on, and we're going to bring on the
congressman in the top of the next hour. They're relying

(02:58):
on Republicans not showing up.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Buck.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
You know, this the crazy base of the Democrat Party,
the people who have the most fervent Trump derangement syndrome
on the planet. They show up for dog catcher races
to vote against Trump. They show up for every race.
Their base they are going to show up and vote,

(03:21):
and they're trying to steal this election to try to
diminish Republican control of the House.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
So we got to show up is a big deal
because they're going to use this as a if they
can pull this off as a rallying cry for the
mid terms, they're going to say it's a harbinger for
the midterms. This shows where the momentum is. That's exactly right,
this is and it's a It's one of these things
where even if they get close enough, they're willing to

(03:51):
pour all this money into it and all this resource,
all these resources in time, because they feel like they're
playing with house money. They'll get money from the coasts,
They'll get the big, big Democrat money will pour in
if they can steal a seat from dare I say,
Clay Travis's backyard my seat, which is this is what
but this is what I'm saying, Like they're going right

(04:11):
into your kitchen and they're trying to eat your drumsticks,
my friend. They're trying to take it right off your
plate and you and and what they said Brett Cooper,
I mean, there's a bunch Tommy.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Lamar and Tommy texted me over the weekend, fired up
about this because again the election. You can go early
vote right now in Tennessee seven. Okay. And if you
don't know if this is your district and they're counting
on this too, Fort Campbell, all of you guys who
were up there, who are soldiers or who have lived
in the Clarksville area, it is likely your district all

(04:44):
the way down to the border with Alabama, if you
live in that range, this is likely your district. If
you're in the Franklin area where I live, Brentwood, Nashville,
many parts of Nashville, this is your district. It's a
little bit confusing, Buck, because even in my neighborhood they
divide it by street, so some people are represented by

(05:06):
one congressman, others by another, and it can be literally
it's divided in my neighborhood. So it's sometimes confusing for
people to know what district they're in. They're taking advantage
of this. If you're not sure, worst case scenario, show
up again, this is Mark Green's district, but a lot
of you out there you may not know because the lines,

(05:26):
especially in the Nashville area, are street to street in neighborhoods.
Worst is a case scenario. You show up and they say, hey,
this is not your district.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
I just don't. They're trying to take advantage of us. Yeah,
you gotta go all out here, my friend, because the
Democrat media narrative is going to be not even Clay,
Travis and and Tommy taking shots at me already in
the article, right, but I'm saying if they win, then
it's going to be see how deflated Maga is. Even

(05:56):
these big Maga names couldn't couldn't help pull this off, right,
so this, uh, this would be like if Republicans are
trying to win a congressional seat from the Democrats in Malibu.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
Hills, was what Borg said. I mean, this is our base, like,
we gotta show up. I'm fire up about this because
you're right, people are gonna attack me if this happens.
They're gonna say Clay Travis doesn't even live in a
Republican district anymore.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
This is I mean, that'll be a headline. You gotta
just you know, you gotta talk to the guy at
peg Leg Porker, who was my favorite barbecue there. And
you gotta have like a big thing outdoor thing a rally,
and you gotta get everybody to show up. My friend,
you gotta get the you gotta get the turnout operation
in full swing. Matt Van Epps is gonna be on
with us at the top of the next hour. I
talked to him over the weekend. I'll say it again
on the air, but I told him, whatever you want

(06:42):
me to do. You want to do a rally, you
want to do an event, I will show up. Obviously
getting him on the show is substantial. I've been sharing
a bunch of the clips.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
Buck this chick is crazy, isn't she hates Nashville?

Speaker 2 (06:57):
Isn't that how to run if you hate a place.
I don't understand this. I actually know that's what democrats do.
They want powers they can destroy the places they live.
But she was on MSNBC. I need to pull up
the sound bites. Do we have a couple of these
things just to kind of give you a sense of
how crazy this chick is. She was on MSNBC Buck,
this is MSNBC. She didn't just say she wanted to

(07:20):
defund the police. She said she wanted to shut down
the Metro Nashville Police Department. She also said she supported
people burning down police stations.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
MSNBC asked her about this This is MSNBC cut sixteen.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
You said in those since deleted tweets that the Metropolitan
Nashville Police Department should be dissolved. Another shared on a
teachers union saying that defund the police should be a
requirement for schools reopening, and another saying good morning, especially
to the fifty four percent of Americans that believe burning
down a police station is justified, do you still stand

(07:57):
by those comments? And if not, is there an then
you want to clarify.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
Yeah, I'm not going to gauge in Kimber News talking points.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
So you don't want to clarify whether you still believe
that the police should be defunded.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
Once again, I don't remember these tweets, but I'm what
I'm saying is is that.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
I'm not asking if you remember, what is your position today?
How's that on this issue? I mean, once again, I'm
here to talk about my race, which is in literally nine.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
Days, Clay, Clay, this chick is insane. If you guys
cannot you cannot allow this to happen. You have to
get everybody out.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
That's MSNBC asking her, do you still support defunding the police?

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Buck?

Speaker 1 (08:39):
She cheered on the burning down of police stations. I mean, look,
there are democrats out there where you talk and you're like, man,
I don't agree with these perspectives. This chick is I'm
trying to avoid cursing crazy. She is absolutely insane. So
again they're counting on their base of crazies. Think about
how crazy she is. She won't even walk back saying

(09:02):
that she wants to defund the police. I think we
get listened to this ad two buck she chased ice
agents around in Nashville to try to keep them from
being able to do their jobs. I believe this is
cut fifteen. Listen, aften By says, I'm a very radical person.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
So radical Bane thinks rioting is a way for people
to express themselves.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
The Worst Bang went on a midnight joy ride harassing
ice officers and state troopers.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
This is great.

Speaker 5 (09:29):
We've got our girl flaught if we're bullying the ice.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Sample and state troopers. So this is like unhanged, and
it's really scary.

Speaker 5 (09:38):
Stop aften Banged, so radical, it's scary.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
This is real. Yeah, I don't even I have never
heard of you've met anyone or heard of anyone before
named Afton. I didn't know this was a name. She's
a rich.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
Kid from East Tennessee who went to rich private schools.
She's thirty five, I think, unmarried. She is the quintessential
crazy left wing.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
She's a white left wing chick that's been able to
support herself in the upper upper echelons of society with
money made by other people her entire life, and has
no idea how the real world actually works, and has
insane ideas that would destroy civilization. Also known as the
base of the Democrat Party. Cool good, They're going to
show up and vote for her. They're going to show

(10:23):
up and vote for her. This chick makes Kamala Harris
seem conservative. And Kamala Harris showed up and tried to
campaign for her, but she didn't want to be seen
with Kamala Harris, which is funny in and of itself
because there are a lot of people in Nashville who
are not big fans of Kamala Harris. So my point
on this, and we're going to have Congressman Van Epps again.

(10:43):
Early voting is going on right now. They are pouring
resources into this district like crazy because the insane left
wing often bane like thirty five year old white women
who have lost their mind. They've already voted.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
They're showing up and this district again, it's a Trump district,
but they think that Republicans aren't going to show up
because it's a December second, it's in the middle of
the Thanksgiving holiday.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
It is not ideal timing. Are you are? Are you
getting Tommy all fired up over this? And Candice lives
in this area and they're gonna have I'm gonna have
a rally, maybe you're out. You got to call the Avengers, buddy.
You cannot allow them to take it. You cannot allow
them to take this, this congressional seat. This is nuts.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
No, we got to get everybody together. I mean, this
is I went on Friday with war Ingram and talked
about it. I mean, this is gonna be I think
a lead story, uh nationwide over the next week.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
And uh.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
Again, I'm just trying to wake people up because I
think a lot of people out there are not aware.
I mean, how often do you vote for a congressional
seat on December second?

Speaker 2 (11:52):
Well, this is also why Democrats think that they can
pull this off, right, because everyone's going to be in
their turkey coma too much Thanksgiving.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
And you might be on that vote. Some of you
are not going to be back for by December second.
So if you're listening to me right now, go vote
early right now if you're not going to be back
and buck. The reason they think it is they looked
at the total turnout in the primary and there were
only about five thousand more Republicans who showed up in
the primary than Democrats, and so they looked at that

(12:21):
and said, wait a minute, if we pour money in here.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
We can win this thing. I'm just gonna I'm just
gonna say it. I'm gonna put a marker down here
for all of our all of our Nashville area audience. Clay,
you don't go and vote on this thing. No cobbler
for you, No cobbler on Thanksgiving. You're cut off from
the smash greatest dessert, greatest dessert.

Speaker 4 (12:39):
You don't.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
You don't deserve it. I'm signing on sign it's it's important,
all right. This is a busy week for those working

What was once twenty three hundred dollars an ounce is
now over four thousand dollars for the same ounce of gold.
What causes that kind of increase in the price of gold.
Global uncertainty from conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine
is one factor. Central bank's also are pulling away from

(13:23):
the US dollar as the global reserve currency and purchasing
more gold instead. Gold thrives in times of uncertainty. It's
one of the reasons why I bought more gold this year.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
Welcome in Back in Clay Travis buck Sexton Show, Monday
edition Thanksgiving Week. We talked about this in the opening hour.
There is a race eight days from now Tennessee's seventh
congressional district. It's going to surprise a lot of people
because Thanksgiving is this week. A lot of people out
in the road. You can go vote early. This is

(14:36):
my congressional district. This is going to be my congressperson.
And there is a crazy left winger, Afton Vaine who
is running on the other side and on the side
of truth justice in the American way.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
I want all of you to go vote for him.
He is Matt Van Epps.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
He is early voting as underway Tennessee seventh Congressional district.
If you don't know if it's your district, go online,
you can look. You can also just show up and
just be be honest, say hey, sometimes this is confusing
Matt Van Epps with us. Now you know this too,
because they redrew the lines. Nashville has actually now split

(15:19):
three different ways. By in my neighborhood in Franklin, you
can be one congressman, different district. A lot of people
still don't know. Tell us why this race is so important,
hopefully soon to be Congressman Matt Van Epps and what
Democrats are trying to do by stealing this seat.

Speaker 4 (15:39):
Hey Clay, great to be on with you.

Speaker 6 (15:42):
Matt Man Epps here and so first and foremost, as
you mentioned, my opponent, Apton Baine is.

Speaker 4 (15:47):
A crazy left wing radical.

Speaker 6 (15:49):
If you don't want higher taxes, defunding a police, gender
surgeries for minors without parental consent, you must vote to
stop this person.

Speaker 4 (15:58):
And that's the only way to do it is to
vote to stop her. So we're asking everybody to get
out and vote.

Speaker 6 (16:04):
I'm a husband, father, combat veteran. I'm a West Point
Brad serve nine combat tours. I've let small business operations,
serve in the state government as Commissioner of General Services,
where I like to say.

Speaker 4 (16:17):
We were doing Doge before Doge.

Speaker 6 (16:19):
And I'm still serving in a Tennessee Army National Guard
today and excited to fight for Nashville, for Davison County,
in all of our fourteen counties.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
So what is it looking like in terms of awareness
even for this race coming up here? Because I got
to tell you this is a particularly difficult to sandwich
in this election between Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Year's
What can you do to help? This is Buck, by
the way, the other guy. What can you do to
help get the word out, And how are you seeing

(16:53):
that actually in play out given that, I think there's
been a total lack of focus, which while the Democrats
are so very honed in on trying to sneak this one.

Speaker 4 (17:04):
That's right, and Buck, thanks for the question. Great to
be with you.

Speaker 6 (17:07):
Just we've got to get out. We're telling everybody right now.
Early voting goes through the twenty sixth through Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

Speaker 4 (17:16):
And then the elections on December second, So we just
need everyone.

Speaker 6 (17:19):
To get out and vote. You know, my opponent is
she is a crazy radical left winger. She supported Mmdonnie
and would be lockstep in that socialist agenda. Better of fact,
she's endorsed by the socialists because she's one of them.
She fought against the largest tax cut in state history

(17:41):
and proposed new taxes. She will make it more expensive
for working families and farmers. And I think when people
both know that about her and that they can early
vote right now through the twenty sixth and election day
December second, that will turn out the vote and it
will witness decisively December second.

Speaker 1 (18:02):
For people out there. How much do you think the
Democrat plan is just relying on a lot of traditional
Republican voters not being aware this election is happening. Because
I said in the first hour, their base of crazy
left wing frankly Afton Bane, you know, like mirror image

(18:23):
voters is going to show up for everything. They're really
plugged in here. That's basically the Democrats strategy, right, is
that people are just going to be busy and not
be aware this is actually going on.

Speaker 4 (18:36):
That's that's right.

Speaker 6 (18:37):
We you know, we had we had a great win
in the primary. We have great momentum endorsed by the President,
back by the Speaker.

Speaker 4 (18:46):
We have over forty local endorsements from.

Speaker 6 (18:48):
Sheriffs and county mayors, highway superintendents, farmers, business leaders, and
so that that momentum we're carrying forward. What we can't
have happened is people take it for granted. We've got
to have our side to get out there and vote.
The Democrats are hoping that we don't turn out, and
we've got to fight against this just crazy.

Speaker 4 (19:09):
Radical left wing agenda. It's not right for Tennessee, it's
not right for America.

Speaker 6 (19:14):
And we do that when people show up with the
jersey on, get on the field and vote.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
Affordability is going to be a huge thing, Matt in
the mid terms, and you're going to be your race
is certainly going to be if the well Heaven forbid.
But if the Democrats pulled this off, they'll say that
it is indicative of the GOP's lack of focus on
the affordability issue. Right now, I wanted you to speak
to that because there are a lot of people that

(19:41):
are still feeling that the pinch of high prices at
the pump, at the grocery store. You know, whole discussion
here in Florida about property tax, a lot of things
that are making people feel like they can't get ahead.
What do you think could be done in the congressional
side to help with that? And just as a general
philosophyical issue, how do you want to approach affordability if

(20:02):
you if in fact you're successful in this election.

Speaker 6 (20:05):
Absolutely, and that is top of mind for so many
of our voters.

Speaker 4 (20:09):
And I agree.

Speaker 6 (20:11):
We stand for battling inflation, secure borders, tax cuts, protecting
our kids, cheaper gas, supporting.

Speaker 4 (20:18):
Veterans and law enforcement.

Speaker 6 (20:20):
Ending wars around the globe, and the affordability piece here is.

Speaker 4 (20:24):
Top of the top of the agenda. And I think
I'm pro nuclear. I think we need to unleash America's
nuclear power and energy. Tennessee is leading with the.

Speaker 6 (20:33):
First small modular reactor at the Clinch riversite in East
Tennessee that should be online in twenty thirty two. And
so we've got to promote oil and gas in nuclears
so that we drive down the costs of the pump,
we drive down utilities.

Speaker 4 (20:48):
Healthcare is really important.

Speaker 6 (20:51):
I think a good example is in Carstol, Tennessee, when
when government gets out of the way and in the
private sector is put into a we have we have
two new hospitals going in at Clarksville that's going to
increase access, increase competition, drive down costs, it ultimately increase outcomes.

Speaker 4 (21:09):
And you're absolutely right. At housing, we we've.

Speaker 6 (21:12):
Got to keep property facts as low. I think from
a from a federal standpoint, that's no unfunded mandates. We've
got to work with states and local governments to ensure
that we have workforce housing at close proximity to the workplace.
And we've got to we've got to work continue to
work to keep taxes low and to cut red take.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
We're talking to who I Hope is going to be
my next congressman. Matt Van Epps, can you tell everybody
out there listening right now, because we have a ton
of affiliates. One of the confusing things is your district
runs from basically all the way at Kentucky all the
way down to Alabama. Can you run through some communities
so people who are out there listening can say, oh,

(21:53):
wait a minute, that's me. Because these district lines are
still new, a lot of people out there listening right
now may not be aware that this race is even
going on. So I'll start with you Fort Campbell area,
Clarksville area, a huge part of you. Guys, you are
voting for your congressman now and on December second, Nashville, Franklin, Brentwood,

(22:16):
different parts of the Nashville area. Nashville is split up
into three different congressional districts. And then on down south
where else what communities should know they are in this
district that you need them to turn out?

Speaker 6 (22:30):
Absolutely so on the north side, Stuart, Montgomery and Robertson
is really important. Our western boundary bet in Decatur, we've
got Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Perry, and.

Speaker 4 (22:42):
Wayne Sheatham County. And then on the on our eastern.

Speaker 6 (22:48):
Boundary there, as you mentioned, we've got Davidson County, Williamson County,
it's part of Davidson, it's part of Williamson, it's bordered
a border. And we need everyone to get out and vote.
It's just it's so incredibly important. It's really it's all
fourteen counties. We need everyone from every county on our
side to get out and vote. Don't take it for granted.

(23:11):
And when we do that, we're going to stop this
radical ideology from trying to come into Tennessee, and we're
going to advance affordability.

Speaker 4 (23:19):
We're going to.

Speaker 6 (23:20):
Support working families, farmers, military and veterans, and we're going
to keep moving America in the right direction, in the
America first direction.

Speaker 1 (23:33):
And you said early voting ends on Wednesday, right before Thanksgiving,
is that right? And then the actual election day is Tuesday,
December second, just for people out there.

Speaker 4 (23:45):
That's right, Yeah, absolutely right.

Speaker 6 (23:47):
Early voting through Wednesday, the twenty sixth, and then December
second is election day.

Speaker 1 (23:54):
And for people out there who may not even live
in the district, but I hope everybody in the district
is going to go vote but they want to help
and they just want to ensure that Democrats don't steal
this race.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
How can they find you online?

Speaker 6 (24:07):
Yeah, so it's Matt FORPN dot com. That's Matt FRPN
dot com. And would be honored to have folks support
and their vote, and together we're going to get this
done and we're going to win decisively on December second.

Speaker 2 (24:22):
Amen, thank you. That's Matt van Epps.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
Everybody in my district, everybody listening in the Nashville area,
in the Franklin area, Clarksville, all the way down to
the border. You heard all the different counties that are involved.
We got to get out, We got to show up
and make sure that the Democrats don't steal a ce Congressman.
I hope Matt Van Epps may have you on election
day next week, just to reinforce again that the election

(24:47):
is happening. That is eight days from now, but you
can vote early today, tomorrow and Wednesday in advance of Thanksgiving.

Speaker 4 (24:53):
Thank you, Thanks Shelm, I really appreciate it. Buck.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
This is a big deal. We'll talk more about it, will.

Speaker 1 (25:00):
Break down some of this news coming out about the
cases being tossed dealing with Letitia James and James Comy,
and also a lot of breaking news out there. Trump
has announced that there's going to be meetups with China's leader,
and also a lot of drumbeat. I haven't talked about
this with you. I'm curious what you think about Venezuela,

(25:22):
the potential of major action taking place there. We will
break all that down for you. But I got to
tell you you're trying to save money. I bet many trying
to save money, particularly as we come into this holiday season.
How much difference would an extra thousand dollars be to
you as we come up on the holiday season. How

(25:45):
much are all those presidents going to cost? How much
is all that travel? Heck, how much is all the
food going to cost you when it comes to putting
on Thanksgiving festivities. Pure talk can offer you a lifetime
deal right now, unlimited talk, text and data, thirty gig
high spot just twenty nine to ninety five a month
for life. This is Puretalk's top tier plan. Normally sixty

(26:06):
five bucks a month, now just twenty nine to ninety
five a month. You're saving over fifty percent a month
every month for life. Let alone the savings percentage you
might realize from a more expensive plan with another carrier.
Think about this again. Pound two five zero, say Clay
and Buck for Puretalk's best unlimited plan for just twenty

(26:27):
nine ninety five a month for life. Puretalk's US customer
service team can have you switched in minutes, keep your phone,
your phone number, and start saving right now less than
thirty bucks a month. That's pound two five zero, say
Clay and Buck to switch to pure Talk today. That's
pound two five zero, say Clay and Buck.

Speaker 4 (26:47):
Stories are freedom stories of America.

Speaker 5 (26:51):
Inspirational stories that you unite us.

Speaker 4 (26:53):
All each day.

Speaker 5 (26:54):
Spend time with Clay and find them on the free
iHeartRadio app or where wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
We're back Clay. Clay is getting spicy in the breaks.
He's got to put his earpiece in. We have Kelly
mcanenny with us now and Kelly Mcanetny is the host
of Saturday in America with Kelly mcnetti. She's a former
White House Press secretary and she has a family with

(27:30):
fantastic taste and radio because her dad listens to the
show every day. So we're all gonna be on our
best behavior. Play's halo is still intact, still intact.

Speaker 1 (27:38):
I'm not the exact I don't know what just went
out over national radio. There my analysis of the Olivia
Nuzzy situation.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
We'll maybe get to that with Kaylee too. Kelly, let's
start with this because you also are a Harvard law graduate,
so let's discuss the judicial resistance here. The judge dismissed
both of the indictments against Letitia James and against James Comy.

(28:07):
What do you make of it?

Speaker 7 (28:09):
Yeah, so they did not reach the subject matter, and that,
you know, let's tiss James. They were not comment here
commentating on the seriousness of the mortgage allegations against her
and James Comy on the alleged perjury, so they didn't
get to the heart of the matter, the facts of
the case. However, what they're saying is Lindsay Halligan when
she was appointed to that position of interim attorney. It's complex,

(28:31):
but there's a one hundred and twenty day period. The
president can put someone there, and then a court decides.
They say the manner in which she was appointed was
unconstitutional and therefore any case stemming from her appointment was
therefore not dismissed, but dismissed without prejudice, which means that
Trump can refile the case. And I say Trump, but
what I mean is the Trump administration, the DOJ. We'll

(28:53):
see if they do that. They can reprosecute it, they
can file an appeal, they have all sorts of ways
to go about this. So James not in the clear,
call me not in the clear just yet. Though they
are celebrating, I've seen some statements out there.

Speaker 1 (29:06):
You nailed it there analyzing it, Kaylee, most people are
not going to get to the essence. They're just going
to see the headline of it being dismissed and they're
going to think it means that on the merits there
was not a claim that was actionable brought against them,
And so I think that's important to kind of.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
Work through all this.

Speaker 1 (29:26):
Let's go a little bit of a different direction with you,
and we're going to get to the Whispering Angel controversy.

Speaker 2 (29:33):
Don't worry.

Speaker 1 (29:33):
I appreciate your dad. What did you make of Marjorie
Taylor Green's announcement? How surprised were.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
You buy it?

Speaker 1 (29:41):
Where does she go from here? What is the significance
of the video and her resignation?

Speaker 7 (29:47):
Well with unsurprising in that when President Trump withdrew his endorsement,
looks she was going to face a primary challenge, and
she might not have been successful in that endeavor. We
know President Trump has quite some sway with the rep
look in base. She knew she was up against that.
There is a trajectory and a history of individuals who
have fallen out with the president. Getting that primary challenge,

(30:09):
it makes it a lot harder to pass laws through
Congress because there is such a narrow majority. I was
reading reporting and I think punchful that there are some
other frustrated members of Congress on the Republican delegation side
that might consider stepping aside as well, and what a
travesty that would be. Then we could be looking at
potentially you lose enough. See it's just a handful. You

(30:30):
could turn the majority of the House of Representatives over
to the Democrats just by virtue of retirement or people
stepping aside. So let's pray it doesn't come to that,
because at the end of the day, all of these
congressman needs to look in the mirror and realize what's
best for the country. Staying on board that people put
you there for a reason stay for the long haul,
because it's about the agenda you support and not your
personal self interest.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
Kelly, we have a focus, and I know the administration
is looking at this now more as well. On the
price of things, there's real concern out there for people
who are just seeing the price of hamburger meat, the
price of gasoline, their rent, electricity, specially electricity along the
East Eastern Corridor the East coast because of a lot

(31:13):
of the AI data center stuff that's going up now.
So what do you think do you think that the
Republican messaging on this is where it needs to be.
Do you see there a growing focus on this? How
would you assess it?

Speaker 7 (31:28):
I think they're getting there, and I think it's a
really important imperative that that they do get to the
right spot. And I've seen Bess and others out there saying, look,
we are not denying that there is an issue with affordability.
We're not going to be the Biden administration that say,
you know, oh, there's no problem, move on, you know,
nothing to see here. We're going to acknowledge it, but
also at the same time acknowledge we have the working solution.

(31:49):
Here's the fact. Presidents Trump handed President Biden one point
eight percent inflation. Biden took that to nine point one percent.
Trump has since brought it down to in the three percentage.
Prices are a little bit lagging there, but I love
that we have an administration with creative solutions. I talked
to Scott Turner, the head of Housing and Urban Development.
He's like, look, we're looking at these fifty year mortgages,

(32:11):
we're looking at portable mortgages. And I said, you know,
we can debate the efficacy of each of those things,
but you have an administration I'm constantly putting out new ideas,
be it on housing or healthcare, sending money directly to
the people. We could debate each and every one of these,
but they're trying. They have solutions that are working. We
see that with gas prices coming down, and I think
we're going to be in a different place about a
year from now. No tax on tips is in, no

(32:33):
tax on overtime will kick in. And I think Democrats
needs may be surprised at what happens in the midterms
because boomerang back at them, because people do remember the bideneers,
and make no mistake, Trump's going to remind them of them.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
Kaylee, there's a good article in the Wall Street Journal
I was reading this morning, and I was curious when
we were going to have you on what your thoughts
are on it. It's about women and the idea of
seasons of life. And you and I both went to
law school, and obviously if you go to law school
and you start practicing law, that takes a decent amount

(33:05):
of time. You've got young kids. Now, there are a
lot of women that I went to law school with
that went hard into practicing law and they had difficulty
balancing out when to have kids. I know Buck talked
about this last week because it's becoming even more and
more of a big topic. What would you tell young
women out there when it comes to prioritizing career and

(33:29):
balancing it with kids and age and everything that you
have learned, given the fact that you went to law
school too.

Speaker 7 (33:36):
Absolutely, what I say is you can have it all.
Is it a harder path, absolutely to be a working mom,
no doubt about it, But you find a way. And
if God put that desire on your heart to have
a child, it is there for a reason. And if
you put a desire on your heart to be a
working mom. That's there for a reason too. And one
thing I would note a great example is Erica Kirk
and I saw an interview last night. She did noted

(34:00):
that her and Charlie Kirk wanted to have four children,
and unfortunately Charlie Kirk was taken way too soon. She
has two children, young children now. And she said that
she was praying to God that she was pregnant with
her third child at the time of his passing, and
opportuentally she wasn't. And then she went on to say,
this is why, you know, young women out there, nothing
is more important than family, Nothing is more important than

(34:22):
that desire you have on your heart to be a mother.
And if it's there, you just got to go for it.
And I did you know, I got National Press secretary
for the Trump campaign, and I was like, is now
the right time to have a child, And you know,
son and I tried and got pregnant like in the
staff of the finger, and baby Blake came and I
washed her little onesies and bathtubs at hotel rooms with
my mom on the campaign trail in New Hampshire and
South Carolina, everywhere we went in the primary. But it

(34:45):
was the best thing that I ever did. And you
find a way and if God put it on your
heart that is there, then he's going to see it
through and he's going to help you in that endeavor.
It's nothing more important in life.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
Now, Cayley, You're generally not one to court controvert, but
you find yourself in the midst of some controversy as
your dad. A beloved and appreciated listener daily listener of
this program, has weighed in on a range of facts,
a range of things, including the fireside chadvidee you posted

(35:17):
in which he has spoken about the Clay Whispering Angel fiasco.
I think at this point we just have to lead
into it, Kaylee, and Clay and I have to ask
for a Whispering Angel endorsement or something, because there's no
escaping from the fact that when Clay had a whole
bar to choose from at the Fox Patriot Awards, he
went for Rose. Kayley, he went for it.

Speaker 7 (35:39):
You noted that Clay had a halo on at the
beginning of this, and indeed he has a halo, a
Whispering Angel halo. I have a whole press rollout plan
for Clay on this, and you know I'm a former
press secretary, so I'm good at press rollouts. And Jesse's
team came to me and asked for the picture of
Clay drinking whispering Angel. I told jesse Waters team, no, no,
no, no no, I've got a rollout plan for this. It's

(36:01):
going to come out just at the right time. My
dad was so disappointed, drinking bourbon by the campfire. I'm
actually with my with my brother in law right now,
Michael Gilmartin, and he said, I cannot believe Clay Travis
drink's whispering Angel. And his girlfriend Donnia said, yeah, it's pink.
It's a woman's drink. He's drinking that. What is wrong
with this man? But my dad has been your greatest defender, Clay.

(36:22):
My dad's walking around the house go and Clay wrote
a book called Balls. That man is a real man.
He's not a whispering angel man. So he's got a
great defender in Mike macadenne.

Speaker 1 (36:31):
I think we have the audio for people who haven't
heard it. Here is Kaylee's fantastic dad. I'm sorry that
I disappointed him. I felt as I was watching him
like the coach found out that I broke curfew or
something that's like your dad sounds like he's got he's
a coach, and he's just he's not sad, he's not mad,
he's just disappointed in the lack of discipline.

Speaker 8 (36:53):
Listen, I've been reading Klay Travis's book Balls. I'm telling
you guys, it is first of all, Oh, it's kind
of an autobiography, but he's a great writer. He takes
his facts all the way back and how sports and
how sports became woke, and how the kids young men
really helped turn this thing around, and so did out

(37:15):
kick Clay and a few others that had fought against
you know, ESPN and all these these these woke uh
of the NBA and all that. It's amazing. Book is amazing.

Speaker 7 (37:26):
I got to ask you, what about him drinking whispering
Angel Clay Travis drinks whispering.

Speaker 8 (37:31):
A shocking, shocking, That's that's a that's just a ever
hit a bad night, bad night, like you missed too
many free throws.

Speaker 2 (37:40):
I love it. I felt I felt like you found
out I.

Speaker 1 (37:42):
Missed curfew and uh, I wasn't gonna be able to
play in the first quarter of the football game.

Speaker 7 (37:47):
It was hilarious. My dad was a football coach.

Speaker 2 (37:50):
Oh that's perfect.

Speaker 7 (37:52):
This man is your defender, so he's going to like
hang out there to dry in the public, but behind
the scenes he's like, you gotta get Clay Travis is
the best. Is the best. He's defending you. But I've
got the picture, so this isn't going away. You got
a former White House press secretary so after you with
a press plan, So watch out, Jim Acosta, watch out
Clay Travis.

Speaker 2 (38:14):
He had a bad night.

Speaker 1 (38:15):
Is such a great immediate defense line that I'm glad
your dad have my back. That's a good response to
you as a press secretary have to say, you know what,
he kind of took a little bit of the heat
away with that immediate sentence. By the way, last question
for you, and I'm not pleased about the media campaign
attacking my drinking character that is coming. Were you surprised

(38:39):
by the Mom Donnie Trump interaction in the White House
or did you totally anticipate that based on your experience
working with Trump in the White House.

Speaker 7 (38:49):
So I did not think it would be hostile. I
did not think it would be like the Zelenski meeting.
I was surprised at just how cordial it was. But
then I sat back and I thought about it, and
I have watched man Donald Trump plays four dimensional chess constantly.
He's not someone who can be, you know, flattered. You
may think he's been flattered, and you know he's praising

(39:09):
someone because of that flattery. He always has a plan,
So sit back, hang tight. I was surprised at how
complimentary it was. But you just wait, you just wait.
I noticed. I'll just say this, mom. Donnie was pressed
on whether Trump said I won't send federal troops to
your city, federal law enforcement, I should say, and he
would not say that. President Trump said that, so I
think there might have been some harsher words behind the scenes.

(39:30):
And you just wait see Trump's next chest move.

Speaker 1 (39:33):
Outstanding stuff. Kaylee mcainy, buck that you got all the details.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
I was just going to say, our dad is a great,
great listener of the program, and we very much appreciated Kaylee,
and thank you for being here with us. Come back
and hang out again soon. Okay. We enjoy our Kayley visits.

Speaker 7 (39:49):
I'd love it. And Clay, you go get a nice
mid afternoon cocktail. Rose is a great one, so go
enjoy Rose Rose.

Speaker 1 (39:58):
I'm going to be down at the beach this weekend
for Thanksgiving. I might just start walking around with pink
drinks frozen all the time. Kaylee mcananey has a great
show and evidently has incriminating photos of me consuming very
feminine alcohol, So I've got to be nice to her.
Although it sounds like the campaign's rolling out, no matter what,
I gotta tell you holiday season, how many of you

(40:18):
are going to be on the road? I bet a
lot of you are going to be driving places. And
when you're driving places, you might even be in multiple
different cars. Maybe your family's big enough they can't all
fit in one car. How about having.

Speaker 2 (40:31):
Some rapid radios.

Speaker 1 (40:33):
Maybe you want to send the kids out of the
house and you want them to be running around, play
in hide and seek, playing football on Thanksgiving as many
people do. But they're young, they may not have their
own cell phones with them. Rapid radio is a great
opportunity for you to be able to stay in touch
with your kids, but you don't have to worry about
and getting on the internet. You don't have to worry
about the responsibility of a cell phone. And right now,

(40:56):
Cyber Monday, incredible cell coming for rapid or You don't
know when the next storm is gonna be. You don't
know when your kids are gonna need it. Maybe when
you're uh. Your elderly relatives might need this because they
don't do a fantastic job with their cell phones. We've
got rapid Radios in the Travis household. They hold a
charge for five days. You can get hooked up right

(41:17):
now at rapid radios dot com to make sure your
family's never out of reach. That's rapid radios dot com.
Get hooked up today rapid radios dot com.

Speaker 2 (41:29):
Two guys walk up.

Speaker 5 (41:30):
To a mic Hey, anything goes Clay Travis and Fuck Sexton.
Find them on the free iHeartRadio app or wherever you
get your podcasts.

Speaker 1 (41:49):
Welcome in our number three Clay Travis Bought Sexton Show.
Appreciate all of you hanging out with us as we
are rolling through the Monday edition of the program. Just
so you know, we will be with you Tuesday of
this week and Wednesday of this week if you're gonna
be on the road, as I know a lot of
you are for Thanksgiving, including you're staying at home this year,

(42:11):
right Buck, you're with the little guy like just chilling.
Oh good, to New York. Oh, that's gonna be in
New York. You're gonna be home for Christmas, gonna be
on the road. Buck will be up in mom Donni
Land for Thanksgiving. I will be on the road. I'll
be down in Florida. But we will be with you Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
Just in case you're gonna be out on the road.

(42:32):
I know a lot of you are gonna be driving around.
Good time to sign Just you tomorrow, Just you Tomorrow.
Clay might lead everyone in the Rosary before his baatification
as Saint Clay, which could come any moment. Now, I
have you toured the Vatican before? Have you taken like
the Yeah, I'm just gonna say it. It's gonna sound

(42:53):
a little little fru through. But my eighth grade class
trip was to Italy, So there you gow Well. I
had never been to Italy till a couple of years ago.
I was out last week's super secret move. Got to
go set up a meeting with the Pope, got to
hang out with the mbath.

Speaker 2 (43:07):
It was an awesome trip.

Speaker 1 (43:08):
We got to tour the Vatican Buck after hours and
so we were the only people in the Sistine Chapel
which if you I've been before, there's usually hundreds of people,
and we got a special tour going through the Vatican.

Speaker 2 (43:25):
It was it was awesome.

Speaker 1 (43:28):
The number of so maps that they have in the Vatican.
You know, one of the things that the Vatican used
to be so powerful for for those of you out
there that are history nerds, like both Buck and myself are.
If you study history, one of the things that was
the most valuable back in the day was accurate maps,
particularly of the New World, and that was considered to

(43:51):
be basically the state secrets of the era. How do
you get to the Spice Islands? I love that whole area.
That era, the age of Exploration. We got to go
tour and see a bunch of maps, Buck, that were
made almost immediately up on Columbus's discovery of America. And

(44:13):
being able to look at those maps that were drafted
in the fourteen nineties that they kept in the Vatican,
or that the Vatican eventually had ended up in control of,
think about how valuable that asset was.

Speaker 2 (44:26):
The maps of.

Speaker 1 (44:27):
The world, in many ways were the most valuable intelligence
of that era.

Speaker 2 (44:33):
So since we're just totally nerding out here, Clay, my
official genealogist who did this whole family thing. My son's
name is Speed. It's because Speed is a family name.
The Speed Museum in Kentucky, by the way, the same line,
and we are very much descendants of that. So I'm
actually Kentuckian on one side. There you go something new
for people. And John Speed, who was the chief cartographer

(44:57):
for Queen Elizabeth I in the early sixteen hundred, is
a direct descendant and his descendants that came to America
became the speech last Sexton family. So my son is
named for a guy who made really good maps for
the Queen of England in the early sixteen hundreds. Boom,
that's all around.

Speaker 1 (45:15):
That's a heck of a connection. I just it was
an amazing trip. And I think I said this when
we came back. The first time I went to Italy
was a couple of years ago. We also got to
go to to tour what I think is maybe the
most the most I mean, look, there are tons of
incredible parts of Italy. We're in the coliseum, which is

(45:37):
for someone who is a fan of sports, I mean
basically the beginning and the foundation of every of every
aspect of the of the entire sports industry.

Speaker 2 (45:49):
He used to feed Christians to the lions there though,
Saint Clay, So we don't we don't like that part
of it.

Speaker 1 (45:53):
But a little bit, a little bit of a downside
potentially associated there.

Speaker 2 (45:58):
That's the part that everyone always leaves out about Marcus Aurelius.
By the way, Oh, he was a stoic in the meditations.
Meditations a little self indulgence if you ask me. And
also this guy was a huge persecutor of the Christians,
and his son, Commedists, was a psycho, and so he
wasn't a very good dad either, So maybe everybody should
stop getting all their lessons from the stoics. I'm just

(46:18):
throwing it out there.

Speaker 1 (46:20):
I haven't ever read the Meditations of Marcus Aurelius. It's
actually on my list. Did you read it?

Speaker 2 (46:24):
Yeah, of course. I mean it's a lot, it's a
lot of don't even get me started. Meditations is philosophy
for people who don't want to actually put too much
work into philosophy, right, it sounds like me. Sounds like me, honestly,
Bill Clinton's Bill Clinton was quoted a second. I think
it was his favorite thing ever written. I'm like, yeah, no, surprise,

(46:47):
leaves plenty of Tom to chase ladies, not spend a
lot of Tom actually studying.

Speaker 1 (46:52):
I think if you told me, hey, you're gonna have
to spend a lot of time in a philosophy class,
I would that does not sound like something that I
would or want to do. But what I was gonna
say also is I think the coolest, maybe the most
amazing building is the Pantheon, which is roughly, you know,
two thousand years old. And every time I have the

(47:14):
opportunity to tour a place like that, I can't help
but think just how incredibly young this nation is when
you think about it in the context of Greece, Rome.
Certainly last year I was over in Israel. You know,
the things that we consider to be super old here
are a pinprick of time and much of the quote

(47:35):
unquote old world. So I hope people get the opportunity
to go over there. Thank you to the Vatican ambassador
Brian Birch and Italy's ambassador Tilman Fertida. We had great
times with they and their families. Awesome people, great choices
by the Trump administration. Okay, I want to get your
take on this buck because we haven't really talked about
it that much. We talked a lot about the race

(47:56):
that's going on. Encourage all of you in the Tennessee
seventh Congressional District to get out and vote. Matt van
Epps was with us. Kaylee Mcanany was with us last hour,
and we opened the show talking about the Trump mom
Donnie Brofest, what is your take on Marjorie Taylor Green's
decision to give up her congressional seat starting in January.
Is this some sort of super stupendous move that she

(48:20):
is making in the political stratosphere. Did she just get
upset at criticism from Trump and there's not much else
to it? My understanding is she's wealthy, she doesn't need
to have a job. What is going on here as
you see it?

Speaker 2 (48:34):
I'll be honest. I mean, I follow this in so
far as it's our job to know what's going on
in the news. But I started to put this a
little bit into the personal squabble category where somebody has
some kind of a beef with Trump and then they
get into a little bit of a back and forth,
and it's just hard for me to spend that much
time and intellectual energy on this. That said, I think

(48:56):
there are people who find it to be worthy of discussion.
So I mean, I'll just say this. She seemed to
be getting a little wacko recently. Little some of the
stuff she was saying was a little lot of whacko.
Let's be honest, A lot of that going around these days.
Maybe a lot of that going around these days. And
I'll tell you what's really happened. And this is uh

(49:19):
And you know, by the way, don't don't like do
the thing that people do. I'm not naming anybody because
I don't want to get into any of the personal squabbles.
We talk about ideas and news here and we're here
for you for this audience, not here for someone else's
audience to get into some back and forth and help
their ratings or whatever. We're here for you. We serve
you Russia's audience that he built over decades. And I

(49:42):
would just say, there's a there's a little bit of
a disconcerting thing, Clay, where people are getting crazier and
crazier and somehow it's being rewarded in the on the
American right, and that's not a good thing. This is
not this is not good. Attention does not equal right,
Attention does not equal clicks. A lot of people get

(50:04):
into this. Clicks and downloads and all that are not
actually the most important currency in what we do. It's important,
you know, if you don't have anyone listening, it doesn't
really matter what you say if you're going to do this.
But if you're getting crazy out there and you're turning
on people who have stood with you, and you're turning,
I mean, look, I'll just give you a perfect example.

(50:25):
I found it deeply sad that Dick Cheney endorsed Kamalaw
and then at his funeral had a bunch of communists
destroying everything he ever stood for. I think that's a
really sad legacy, on top of the legacy of the
bad Wars and everything else. But I'm just at least,
go out with your principles, man, at least go out
like guys. I thought I was doing the right thing,

(50:46):
but I stood for something. He did the wrong thing,
and then he sold everything out. And I just can't
think of a sadder thing than that in your final
years to do. And I just see a lot of
people right now who are getting a lot of attention
and everything else. And like I said, I'm not going
to get into any individuals because I don't care. But
they're saying crazy stuff that sells out what they have

(51:07):
stood for before. And they can either explain that, which
I haven't seen a lot of or people should see
it for what it is, which is just attention and
money seeking. Uh And and I think that that's a shame.
I don't like. I don't like what I'm seeing. The
trend is not is not our friend right now.

Speaker 1 (51:23):
Here's this is the big trend that I have an
issue with. And I think Marjorie Taylor Green has in
some way gotten caught up in the in the chaos
there in a social media era, there is almost no
consequence for being wrong. All that matters is do people

(51:44):
pay attention to what you're saying? And I'll give you
an example. You and I came on this program and
I think have been proven correct when we said, hey,
striking Iran is going to be a good decision that
will help to bring stability to the Middle East. I
think you're seeing potentially with Saudi Arabia coming in on
the Abraham Accords. I think President Trump was one hundred

(52:07):
percent right on that choice. Now, there was a debate
out there. There was a huge debate out there about
whether it was the right decision to strike Iran or not.
I think that was a smart debate to have.

Speaker 4 (52:21):
Right.

Speaker 1 (52:21):
Everybody's not right on every issue. But if you said, hey,
if we strike Iran, world War three is going to happen,
and then we struck Iran and World War three did
not happen and there were virtually no consequences. In fact, Buck,
I think I'm correct in saying not one single American
soldier was even harmed by US striking Iran. I think

(52:44):
I'm correcting that right. Not only was world War three
not happen, as far from world War three as you
could actually go occurred, and in fact, I think more
stability to the Middle East and safety and security and
peace was the result. Well, what happens. Then there's not
a consequence for being wrong. And if you come on
and you say, hey, guess what I was wrong. I

(53:05):
say this all the time. I got the twenty twenty
two election wrong.

Speaker 2 (53:09):
On this show. I thought we were going to have
a huge red wave. I was wrong. I got it wrong.
You come on, you own it.

Speaker 1 (53:14):
Nobody's going to be perfect in every piece of analysis,
but it seems there's actually far from consequences for being wrong,
there's actually an incentive to be crazy, and it actually
is paying really well. And we may be the sanest
show on radio, which maybe the sayest show in America.
I wonder about that though, right when crazy is a
reward that makes me think that we're in a really

(53:37):
dangerous place.

Speaker 2 (53:38):
And this ties into because we are capitalists. Here my book,
which I hope you'll pre order, Manufacturing Delusion, which is
about how you create madness and weaponize it for politics,
which is going on all the time. It's happening a
little bit on our side. There is a manufacturing of
delusion that is happening on the right. So please go
pre order the book. Be a Balls already on the shelves,

(54:01):
and then pre order Manufacturing Delusion, and uh, because it's
got to get those those pre order numbers up or
else they just don't make enough books, uh, Clay, I
think uh. Part of this also is that the disaggregation
and conservative and right wing media. I'll just be honest.
It used to be there was there was Rush, and

(54:22):
then there was Fox News, and then there was kind
of everything else, you know. I mean, there was and
and so there were kind of the the biggest, baddest
guys on the block that enforced I think some degree
of what the the guardrails were just in, you know,
and obviously Sean had a huge radio show, huge show
at Fox. I mean, there's people that are all that
were all the the elder statesman of the party. But

(54:43):
it's become so disaggregated now in the podcast era that
people are are chasing a lot of a lot of
audience I think by being increasingly just out there because
that's what we'll get attention online. It's very hard to
get attention online in these days because there are so
many options, so I think the incentives are kind of

(55:04):
in the wrong direction. But also my bigger philosophical point
on this, and we weren't even planning to really talk
about this that much. We can talk about the pending
coup in Venezuela later, but my bigger point on this,
Clay is, I think because the Trump movement has been
so successful and it feels like our political enemies are
so routed at least temporarily keep saying it it's temporary,

(55:28):
that now there's a lot of infighting that's happening on
the right, that's much more about It's much more ego
driven than it is mission driven, I will say that,
And I find that disconcerting because there are a lot
of people who will never have to work another day
in their life and never have to worry about, you know,
paying the bills for themselves, their kids or their kids,
kids kids, because they stood with the movement and sure

(55:48):
they built up a successful program or whatever it is.
They have an obligation not to do things that tear
the country down now, and they have an obligation, I think,
to stay on the team that brought us to this
point and not start going crazy out there. So that's
just how I feel about it. Again, no names, don't
tag me with names. So is this who you're talking about?

(56:11):
I just I just don't want craziness on our side.
That's not factual, that's not reasonable. Because then this gives
a lot of breathing room, a lot of oxygen for
the left to come back and be like, look at
how crazy they are. Yeah, we used to be crazy, Clay,
but now we're focused on affordability. Now we just care
about healthcare and affordability. While they're squabbling over Marjorie Taylor Green.

(56:35):
I don't like it, I think.

Speaker 1 (56:38):
As well said, and it's increasingly becoming, I think, an issue,
and it's going to be distracting, and as the midterms
come around. I do think one of the subtexts of
Trump Mom Donnie is Trump is recognizing that people are
very frustrated about what goods cost, and that, to a
large extent, twenty twenty six is probably going to be

(56:58):
a referendum on whether people think goods are affordable or not.
He's fixed the border crime, as we talked about already
on the program, is coming down substantially. But I said
it the other day. Things just cost way more than
you think they should.

Speaker 2 (57:13):
And I was at.

Speaker 1 (57:14):
Subway again last night with my fifteen year old and
I dropped, this time twenty eight bucks on a couple
of Subway meals. And that seems high to me, and
I think a lot of you feel that every time
you buy goods out there. Big things happening at Legacy
Box this week. Their Black Friday sale puts the digital
Transfer service on sale sixty five percent off regular prices.
