Hour 2 of The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show delivers intense coverage of breaking news and critical political analysis. The hour opens with the ICE-involved shooting in Minneapolis, where an immigration enforcement operation turned violent after a protester allegedly attempted to ram officers with her vehicle. Clay and Buck dissect the incident, emphasizing the legal justification for defensive action and the growing hostility toward federal law enforcement fueled by progressive politicians. They highlight alarming statistics on assaults and death threats against ICE agents and slam the hypocrisy of Democrats who champion law enforcement during January 6th hearings but vilify officers enforcing immigration law.

The conversation pivots to viral video footage of the shooting, which appears to support ICE’s account, and the inflammatory response from Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, who told ICE to “get the F out” of the city and dismissed claims of self-defense as “BS.” Clay and Buck underscore how rhetoric from leaders like Frey and former Governor Tim Walz has emboldened anti-ICE extremism, creating a climate of lawlessness. Guest Michelle Tafoya joins to share her perspective as a Minnesota resident, lamenting the state’s decline since the George Floyd riots and warning that woke policies have eroded public safety. She suggests political tides may be shifting as voters tire of chaos and fraud scandals, raising the possibility of Republican gains in statewide elections.

In addition to law enforcement issues, the hosts revisit President Trump’s bold housing affordability plan, which aims to ban large institutional investors from buying single-family homes. They note the immediate market reaction, including a 10% drop in BlackRock’s stock, and explore how curbing corporate ownership could help younger Americans achieve homeownership. Clay and Buck also connect immigration enforcement to housing costs, arguing that reducing illegal immigration could ease rental and home price pressures.

Throughout the hour, the show frames these developments within broader themes of law and order, border security, and economic fairness, contrasting Trump’s proactive policies with the chaos in Democrat-led cities. The discussion closes with a fiery critique of progressive leadership and a call for restoring sanity in states like Minnesota.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back in Clay Travis buck Sexton show. Okay, let

(00:05):
me update you on a couple of different stories that
are currently underway.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Everyone right now is leading with.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
The story of an ICE involved shooting in Minneapolis, so
this will not shock you, But in the wake of
the fraud revelations surrounding Somali Daycares, there has been an
expanded ICE presence brought to bear in Minneapolis. People on
the left have been protesting those ICE officers, and according

(00:39):
to Tricia McLaughlin, who just posted this at Tricia Ohio
on x today, ICE officers in Minneapolis were conducting targeted
operations when rioters began blocking ICE officers. One of these
violent right rioters weaponized her vehicle, attempting to run over
our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them,

(01:03):
an act of domestic terrorism. I am reading from Trisha's post.
An ICE officer, fearing for his lives, the lives of
his fellow law enforcement and the safety of the public,
fired defensive shots. He used his training and saved his
own life and that of his fellow officers. The alleged
perpetrator was hit and is deceased. The ICE officers who

(01:27):
were hurt are expected to make full recoveries. Then she continues,
this is the direct consequence of constant attacks and demonization
of our officers by sanctuary politicians who fuel and encourage
rampant assaults on our law enforcement. These men and women
who are simply enforcing the law are facing thirteen percent

(01:48):
increases and assaults against them, eight thousand percent increase in
death threats. This is an evolving situation. Will give more
info as it becomes available. I think this is really important, Clay. Actually,
right after they tried to make such another big deal
every year we.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Have to oh, you know, rend the garments, gnashing of
teeth and everything. Over January sixth and as we know,
they mobilize the FBI in a way I've never seen
before really for almost anything, maybe even more so than
what we saw for nine to eleven. Mobilized the FBI
to go after people, including entirely non violent in some

(02:26):
cases accidental trespassing. Okay, that's really what it boils down to.
That Norm MacDonald thing about the terrorists respecting the velvet
ropes in Statuary Hall. You know, the ruthless terrorists, you
know what I'm talking about, right that tweet that really
that really sticks out for a lot of people. Yeah,
it's an insurrection where people are taking selfies and walking around. Okay,

(02:48):
the same federal law, the same origin of authority that
we got all these just sanctimonious lectures about when it
came to January sixth.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
How dare they they struck the officers, They were standing
in the way of these officers doing all these things
anything done to and by the way, I disagreed with
the violence against cops, then I disagree with the violence
against cops.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
Now can't do that. But the very same federal law
that they pretend to care about when it came to
January sixth and officers who were in a scuffle is
the same federal law that these ICE officers. No one
disagrees that they're enforcing the law. This is what it
has to be said over and over again. They are

(03:36):
not in violation of federal law. They are enforcing federal law.
And the Democrats play this very underhanded, really insidious game
of acting like there's something wrong with law enforcement officers
enforcing the law, which is exactly what ICE is doing,
which just goes to show you the Democrat party does

(03:59):
not care about the law. It cares about power, it
cares about what it wants and how to get it.
There is no principle at work here because Clay, they
are demonizing ice in a way we have not seen
when it comes to law enforcement since BLM two point
zero and the lies about racist cops, racist cops, black cops,

(04:20):
white cops, all the cops. They're shooting unarmed black men
all the time. Actually they're doing it almost never. And
body cams have shown us what cops really have to
deal with day in and day out, and overwhelmingly they
should be given high fives, medals in gratitude all across
the country. So I just think it's really important to
see that disparity, that dysfunctional approach. January sixth. These are

(04:43):
law enforcement officers we care so much, and then these
are ice officers. Democrats aren't standing up for them. Democrats
aren't upset about this. Why Clay, same federal law, same authority.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
I am looking right now.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
But because you knew it was going to happen, I
agree with all that you just said. You knew that
it inevitably was going to be the case that the
video of the shooting would shortly make its way onto
social media because this is a nice protest. There are
tons of people out there. What I can see right
now as I look at this video is a woman

(05:19):
gets You can't tell who's driving, so it evidently is
a woman who was shot. Someone gets in their car
and drives at a very high rate of speed from
not driving at all to starting so accelerating at a
high rate of speed. And the video that I'm seeing
right now, it doesn't have completely the shooting on it.
You can hear it, but I would suspect that as

(05:44):
this starts to circulate more that the story will vanish
on the left because the woman reverses and then starts
to drive in a really high rate of speed. Again,
it's a little bit off off the screen where the
shooting has happened from the video that I'm seeing right now,
but I think it's going to be hard to argue
that this wasn't someone engaging in a potentially violent and

(06:08):
dangerous act. So my reason for bringing that up is
what always happens when authority for use of force is justified,
story just vanishes. Nobody ever says, you know on CNN
or MSNBC, Actually, boy, this was a really dangerous situation.
I'm glad that the police officers ended up flying. They
just pretend the story didn't exist. And I think what

(06:30):
you're hitting on is something that's really important. First of all,
Minnesota's lost its way. I mean, in the wake of
George Floyd all of the ridiculousness that's going on in Minnesota,
maybe I should have said Minnesota is the is the
state that we should give away instead of New Mexico. Yesterday,
Buck the mayor of Minneapolis, this crazy lunatic Jacob Fry

(06:55):
is already saying this is caused because of Ice. Ice
is recus responsible for this. They have to be forced
out of the state of Minnesota. I mean, these people,
their brains are broken. And even with Tim Walls stepping down,
is it a surprise to anyone that, again, these lunatic leftists,

(07:17):
they take the lesson that they're being given here quite
clearly from their hair brained leaders, and then they engage
in violent acts. I don't know how many times we
have to see it for somebody to just clearly be
responding to the impetus that's being put out there, the
directive that's being put out there from these Mini Minnesota politicians, do.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
We have a huge law enforcement community that's with us
here listening and being a part of this show every day,
all across the country, and they all know that these
democrats you grandstand about about the Capitol Police and it
was amazing they stood you know.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
It was the guy who was crying. He's like, you
stood your ground man.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
You know the whole thing these democrats care about law
enforcement day to day in America. They don't care about
law enforcement officers, like I said, they care about power.
Because Clay, if Democrats cared about actual law enforcement, they
wouldn't try to make it easier for ICE officers to
be ducked as part of their duty so that they
and their families could be threatened with, you know, murder

(08:19):
and rape and horrible things. But Democrats say, well, they can't,
they can't cover their identities when they do these missions.
Why there's no unless they're doing something wrong and they're
all on No one's saying they can't be observed doing
what they're doing. They're just saying their identities do not
have to be shared publicly as they're doing it. Why
do Democrats oppose that? Because they want maniacs to bring

(08:42):
pressure on ice and to threaten to kill their family members.
They want that to happen because they politically oppose the
enforcement of federal immigration law. The Biden administration showed everybody
exactly what the game is. Wide open borders. Third World
worlders come in by the tens of millions, get access

(09:03):
to benefits, and anybody who says a word about it
is treated like there's some form of Nazi or something. Well,
people have had enough of that, and that's actually a
violation of our laws. And now that the laws are
being enforced, Democrats are showing once again they are completely
dishonest on their liars on this issue. They lie about
it constantly. They want more illegals. They're upset the border

(09:26):
is secure, and they think that somebody who arrived here
five minutes ago from Somalia illegally legally doesn't matter as
long as they came from some country that's going to
mean that they're likely to be on welfare and vote
Democrat in the future. They think that person is as
American as any of us, anybody here, anyone, for no
matter how many generations.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
That is their view. That is their view.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
You know what's also super interesting about this is and
again It's amazing how certain stories don't get the attention
they should. We talked about this earlier this week when
we came back, But I've been spending a lot of
time looking at murder rates all over the country. What
Trump is doing is overwhelmingly working. And a lot of
these blue cities and blue states are some of the

(10:10):
primary beneficiaries because the fact that the murder rate's going
to go down, it's going to go down in cities
because that's where the vast majority of murders take place.
And so Trump actually talked about this, and we'll get
into it maybe a little bit later in the program,
but Trump pointed out, as you've been saying, we've been
saying on this program, it's a tiny percentage of people
that are engaging in violent acts, and if you arrest

(10:31):
those people and put them in prison, then the overall
crime rate collapses. We mentioned this as we went to
break and we said we would talk about it a
bit more. President Trump addressing affordability of homeownership. Black Rock
Stockbuck immediately dropped ten percent after the President's post about
stopping large corporate interests from being able to buy up

(10:54):
a lot of different homes out there. This is going
to be an interesting angle because I think a lot
of young people, if you have kids, and you have grandkids,
if you have kids that are in their twenties, in
their early thirties, a lot of people have just decided
that home ownership, because of the rapid acceleration of home prices,

(11:14):
is something that they can't aspire to anymore. And one
thing that the administration has pointed out is well, a
lot of illegal immigrants leaving would theoretically drive down rent
cost and would theoretically make homes more affordable. That's not
a crazy perspective at all. But if you are truly
seeing prices on homes accelerating because of corporatized ownership of homes,

(11:40):
in other words, individuals are trying to compete with big
companies like Blackrock, I don't know exactly what the impact
of that would be because I think it's hard to
analyze whether they're going to pass a law, what's the
overall downstream impact going to be. But if the stock
price is immediately dropping ten percent, that is suggesting to
me that there may be some some possibility of that

(12:05):
large corporate ownership of homes being curtailed going forward. And
maybe it means that things are going to get more affordable.

Speaker 5 (12:12):
Now.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
The number one reason things can change to make things
more affordable is mortgage rates could come back down. Right,
if we get mortgage rates back down to three and
a half four percent from five and a half and
six percent, that would make a big difference because it
would free up a lot of this. By the way,
a lot of videos out there now popping of this shooting.
Will continue to watch this and we'll update you again.

(12:34):
Minneapolis Ice shooting. We gave you all those details, but
a lot of videos now making their way online.

Speaker 3 (12:41):
This year, I want you to consider joining me on
a mission of sorts, the mission.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
Of owning gold.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
Every indication is that gold is going to grow in
value in twenty twenty six. It's up by nearly five
percent already this year after growing sixty percent plus last year.
Why is gold going up in value? Instability, money printing.
And this is just the long term thesis of gold.
That gold is good. It makes sense, it's stable, it's

(13:08):
valuable and at uncertain times having some goal that's part
of your portfolio, it's part of your savings plan.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
That just makes sense.

Speaker 3 (13:16):
That's why I think you should check out Perch Gold Group.
You're gonna like working with these people. They're smart, they're straightforward,
they're on your timeline, not theirs, and they've got a
really solid understanding of macroeconomics and how gold plays into
a long term picture. Look, this is very straightforward. You
can see what gold has done. You can check and
see what did you do last year and what has
it done already this year. It's one of the very

(13:37):
easy things about this is you can look at that
trajectory of gold. Has gold been going up in value
recently and going back actually for quite some time, or
down in value? Has gold historically been valuable or is
it something that people.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Just throw away or give away? Hmmm.

Speaker 3 (13:54):
Gold makes sense, my friends. And until January thirtieth, if

Speaker 1 (14:35):
You don't know what. You don't know right, but you
could on the Sunday Hang with Clay and Buck podcast.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
All right, welcome back into Clay and Buck.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
This video is all over the internet now of this
situation of the ice involved shooting, and this is now
going to be something that a lot of people are analyzing.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
This is up in Minneapolis, Wow Soda getting a lot
of they've lost their minds in Minnesota. I mean they
really have it.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
It is a progressive dystopia now.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
Used to be a place where you'd go like I
did in the summers because of the incredible outdoor beauty
and the really nice people. I remember going to Minnesota
when I was a kid and it was like everyone's
so nice and there's like no crime, and there's beautiful
and you're just hanging out with wolves and eagles all day.

Speaker 2 (15:23):
You know, I mean actual wolves and eeles, and that's
the deal. Nope, not anymore.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
Now they got problems up there because Democrats have been
ruining this place for a long time.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
But okay, so here's what we've got.

Speaker 3 (15:34):
A woman is now dead in Minneapolis shooting involving immigration officers.
They were conducting targeted operations homeland security. I'm just looking
Clay at some of the latest here on this. The
real thing is the video. And here's where I could
tell you when I was at the farm, which is
the well known see you know, there's a whole book,
there's a whole movie about it. There are books about it.
CIA training facility. Okay, one thing that they would talk

(15:56):
to us about is don't ever forget car is a
great weapon.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
Car is a weapon.

Speaker 3 (16:02):
It's a several thousand pound weapon if you choose to
use it as such, and it can be very deadly.
I bring this up because if you try to run
over a law enforcement officer, they do not have the
obligation to let you crush them and perhaps kill them
without taking defensive action. There's a cop in the video,

(16:24):
or immigration officer, I should say, an ice officer in
the video. In front of the vehicle, and the woman
hits the gas and the guy pulls his gun. To me,
it seems to neutralize the threat here. You cannot run
somebody over because you are either you don't like them,
or you're freaked out or whatever it is. Now, it's
tragic insofar as a woman lost her life, and that

(16:46):
is sad, and no one is celebrating this. But the
officer has a right to defend himself in this situation. Clay,
I'm looking at the video and I think that this,
from what I can see, is what they would call
a clean shooting.

Speaker 1 (17:01):
Yeah, look, I just shared it. You know, it's not
particularly graphic. I mean it's graphic in the context of
you can hear the shooting. It's not like you can
see the shooting actually occur. There is a woman in
a car that they're asking to move. Officer knocks on
the window and asks her to get out of the car.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
She refuses.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
She then hits the gas and yanks the car to
the right. There is an ice officer in front of
her and he has his gun and he shoots her.
We don't have the angle. I don't know if they
have cameras on the individual officers or not buck because
as you pointed out, oftentimes these cops are completely cleared

(17:41):
based on the fact that you see their perspective and
you say, yeah, these guys feared for their lives. It
looks like she would have hit him based on my
analysis of the video. You can go watch it yourself.
That is the number one story right now, just breaking.
And we got to tell you, look, if you want
to say a bundle right now, maybe at the end

(18:02):
of the year your expenses were higher than you thought.
Puretalk can save you fifty percent or more on your
existing cell phone bill without sacrificing any quality of service.
That's because Puretalk operates on the same cell Towers network
as one of the bigger cell phone companies, but without
all the overhead expenses. You get great five G coverage
on the nation's largest network can be as low as

(18:23):
twenty dollars a month for unlimited talk text three gigs
of high speed data on puretalk super fascinationwide five G network.
Easiest way to free up cash payoff credit card bills
is to get hooked up with hutting your expenses, which
is what Puretalk can do. Just style pound two five
zero say Clay and Buck and you'll get pure talks

(18:43):
in just twenty bucks a month. I'm almost immediately pound
two five zero an additional fifty percent off the first month.
That's pound two five zero, say playing Buck, Welcome back
in Clay, Travis Buck Sexton. Show a woman who's been
shot and killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis as
there was an ICE ray taking place. This has happened

(19:05):
in the last couple of hours. I shared the video,
the best video of the altercation that I have been
able to see. Christy Nome weighed in on exactly what
happened from ISIS perspective. She is, of course the head
of HHS. Here's what she said.

Speaker 6 (19:24):
You asked about a shooting that we just had in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
It was an active domestic terrorism. What happened was our
Ice officers were out in enforcement action. They got stuck
in the snow because of the adverse weather that is
in Minneapolis. They were attempting to push out their vehicle
and a woman attacked them and those surrounding them and
attempted to run them over and ram them with her vehicle.

(19:46):
An officer of ours acted quickly and defensively shot to
protect himself and the people around him. And my understanding
is that she was hit and is deceased or continue
to gather more information. But this goes to show the
assaults that are ice officers in our law enforcement are
under every single day. These vehicle rammings are domestic acts

(20:09):
of terrorism. We're working with the Department of Justice to
prosecute them. As such, we will continue to protect our
ice officers and in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies
as well.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
Okay, I think Michelle Tafoya will agree with what buck
and I said, which is that this is clearly an
element of the Democrats instigating their crazy base and making
it more dangerous for everyone. The mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey,
is having a press conference right now.

Speaker 2 (20:39):
It is live.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
We go to Minneapolis, I believe, certainly to the state
of Minnesota. Michelle Tafoya, longtime sportscaster now voice of sanity
in the state of Minnesota. Michelle, what in the world
has happened to Minnesota? Bucket Ie were just talking about it.
It used to be a place that we look to
for sanity. Now it feels like the Blue state craziness.

(21:02):
Maybe it's leading the charge compared to everywhere.

Speaker 5 (21:05):
It's really been something. I've lived here for three decades, Clay,
but good to talk to you, guys. It's a crappy day,
but it's good to talk to you. I've lived here
for you know. When I first moved here from California,
of all places, I thought, Okay, there's no way I'm
gonna last more than a year with this weather. But
I stayed because it was such a great place to

(21:27):
live and I met my husband, and I thought, this
is a great place to raise a family. And it
once was. It was safe. It was you know, there
was a civic pride where you kept the city clean.
You felt safe downtown, you felt safe everywhere. It's not
that way anymore. The decline is real, and it's happened

(21:48):
kind of slowly and then.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
All at once.

Speaker 5 (21:51):
You can point to Tim Walls certainly and his regime,
his administration for just introducing all of wokeness into the schools,
for well, everyone knows the fraud story now, and then
the kinds of messages that they continually send to the public,

(22:13):
which is, you know, anything federal is bad. Ice agents
are bad. We don't want them here. And then you
end up and I'm watching this video as I speak
to you guys, with these mobs of people attacking federal
agents who are trying to do their jobs. Look, there's
law and order. I long for it. I want to

(22:34):
have my kids and my family feel safe again in Minneapolis,
and this is not it. When people come out and
looking at the video, these people were really attacking in
a number of ways, and this person in the car
sped up and started racing toward these agents and they
were apparently left with no choice.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
There's going to be a lot of analysis of this, Michelle,
based on video footage, and we don't know yet if
there are body cameras on one or any of the
officers involved, but there's already a lot of video out
there showing this, and I think that's part of why
DHS Secretary Gnome has been willing to come out, you know,
and have a very clear statement of what she believed

(23:18):
based on the facts happened here. Once again, video footage
seeming to be the possible exculpatory part of the equation here.
But I want to know what does it take given
what Minneapolis specifically has been through. Okay, so we've got
this massive Somali fraud thing going on. We clearly have
some irrational anti ice madness that is going on there,

(23:42):
immigration customs enforcement feeling stirred up by Democrats. The mayor
of Minneapolis is a preposterous joke. This is the guy
who's crying at the casket of George Floyd, because you know,
Mayor Frey really knows the struggle. When do people wake up?
I mean, is there a turning of the tide in
that statement. I'm in Florida, which used to be kind

(24:02):
of purple and now it is red. I know Minnesota
is solid blue, but is that going to change?

Speaker 5 (24:08):
I you know, we've got two parts to the state,
what we call the metro area and what we call
out state metro areas Minneapolis, Saint Paul and some of
the suburbs that are right here, and I guess you
could include Duluth as one of the major cities as well.
They tend to be very liberal. The outstate is the
rest of Minnesota. I mean, you've drive twenty minutes in

(24:29):
any direction outside of Minneapolis, and that's where you see
the Trump signs and the Maga hats and that kind
of thing. So there are two very distinct almost populations.
But but this. The fact that Tim Walls stepped down
from running it for a third term tells you he
saw the writing on the wall. If he felt he
could win a third term, he would not have stepped

(24:51):
down from this. The DFL party here knew he was
toxic and he was going to drag down their entire
side of the ticket reapons next. I don't know, but
he has been one of the most vociferous people in
terms of stirring up this. You know, he uses words
like estoppo and Nazism and it's just really unbecoming of

(25:14):
a state leader. So this fraud, I think is really
opened a lot of people's eyes. And that's why Walls
knew h even though you know this is a quote
unquote blue state, it could be lightning up. That blue
could be lightning up, and there could be an opportunity
here for Republicans to win some statewide elections. So I

(25:34):
think there is a wake up call happening. I talk
to a lot of people and it feels that way
watching this video of all these people protesting, and really
it's not a protest. These people are attacking these agents.
This isn't a protest. This is throwing stuff and spitting
and driving cars into things. And that's not a protest,

(25:56):
but when you watch it, you go, wow, is this
really Minneapolis? I think it's a shrinking population of Minneapolis,
but it's very condensed into what that metro area rather
than the outstate part.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
We will get the audio team. Can you grab this.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
The mayor of Minneapolis as we are talking to you,
Michelle Tafoya just told Ice get the f out of
this city and he is having a press conference basically
losing his mind over the presence of Ice in Minneapolis. Again,
this is happening as we are speaking to you right now.

(26:35):
They are covering it live. We will play that audio
for you. You just mentioned, Michelle, the fact that basically
Tim Walls recognized he did not have an ability to
get elected. And what you're discussing is there's a lot
of same people who live in Minnesota, and then Minneapolis
has basically led the state of Minnesota over the woke waterfall.

(26:57):
I know that you have been contemplating maybe getting involved
in politics yourself. I think I'm correct that it's been
since two thousand and six that a Republican has one
statewide in Minnesota. Is it possible in twenty six for
a Republican to win statewide. It feels to me like
this is a crossing the Rubicon moment when the mayor

(27:19):
of Minneapolis is saying, get the f out, basically screaming
and lecturing and hectoring ICE agents right now live at
his press conference after the shoot.

Speaker 5 (27:30):
I'm glad you referenced him crying at the casket of
George Floyd. Really, we were the at center of those
twenty twenty protests, that whole entire Black Lives Matter movement
came out of the George Floy killing and this place
with you know, lockdown. You know, look, Tim Walls had
people being shot with paintballs.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
I'm sorry, I'm sorry to cut you off to Michelle.
He also said, in addition, the mayor of Minneapolis, get
the f out. He just said, any health defense claim
here is bull explotive.

Speaker 2 (28:05):
So it's rare.

Speaker 5 (28:06):
I don't know how he's qualified to say that unless
he is he was there, or he's seen it. I
don't know how he's qualified to say that. But if
you are a public official, you're putting your thumb on
this case right now without any evidence, correct, I don't
know how he can he can do that in good conscience.
But again, this is the place where Kamala Harris was saying,

(28:29):
it's helped fund people out of the jails, people who were,
you know, rioting and torching. The city of Minneapolis hasn't
been at since twenty and there are people leaving, certainly.
And you know the other thing that happens in these
big cities like Minneapolis. You've got the people who work
there who really provide the vibrancy and the ecomomy, right,

(28:54):
but they don't necessarily live in amples. They don't get
it closed, their leaders are and it ends up being
this small group of people who live in Minneapolis proper,
our City Council of Minneapolis.

Speaker 1 (29:06):
It's basically so, Michelle, we maybe get you to call
back to us. Let's finish the hour talking with you.
Your phone is breaking up a bit. We'll get you
back in a sec here because I do want to
finish with this. Let me go to a break buck
We'll get Michelle to foya back. She's reacting in real time.
Let's make sure a team that we get the actual
audio so we can play it rather than me. Just

(29:27):
tell everybody what's real.

Speaker 3 (29:29):
Quick, Clay, I just to say I think I think
Mayor Frey of Minneapolis is jealous that Mom Donnie is
currently considered the worst mayor in America and Frey wants
wants some attention for his campaign. Maybe the Mayor of
Minneapolis is worse than Kami Mam Donnie.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
It is possible.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
Unfortunately, I think that's where we are in the meantime,
I want to tell you about our friends at Legacy Box.

Welcome back into Clay and Buck.

Speaker 3 (30:48):
Michelle Tafoya podcast host. You'll know her from her great
work also as a sports reporter of many, many years. Michelle,
hopefully we can hear you now on your phone from Minneapolis.
Tell us what's going on here? Jake Phrase saying crazy stuff.
The mayor of Minneapolis telling Ice to get out of
his city. I don't think he owns Minneapolis.

Speaker 5 (31:07):
No, he doesn't own Minneapolis. It's not his city, it's
our city. And what they're trying to do is bring
some law in order to a city that's been beref
of that to for since basically twenty twenty. And there
is a lot of video being uploaded. I'm sure you
guys are seeing on the internet of this, this car

(31:27):
that was driving right toward an agent. You know this
is you can't you can't run people over with a car.
The car is a deadly weapon. So you know, look,
there's gonna be a lot that comes out of this.
I don't know, I don't know what's next, Like how
many where did the protests go from here? You know,
if if people look atthority like they did at the

(31:50):
George Floyd death and they protest that death, what are
they going to do with this one in Minneapolis? I
don't know. I don't know what we're in for the
rest of the day. Quite frankly, it's.

Speaker 2 (32:03):
Going to be ugly.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
Let me play these two clips for you, Michelle, and
let you react to them a team. This is cut
thirty four. Here's where he says there's no self defense here.
He says he's watched the video and it's BS.

Speaker 2 (32:18):
Listen.

Speaker 3 (32:18):
They are not.

Speaker 7 (32:19):
Here to cause safety in this city. What they are
doing is not to provide safety in America. What they
are doing is causing chaos and distrust. They're ripping families apart,
They're sewing chaos on our streets and in this case
quite literally killing people. So they are already trying to

(32:39):
spin this as an action of self defense. Having seen
the video of myself, I want to tell everybody directly
that is booked. This was an agent recklessly using power
that resulted in somebody dying getting killed.

Speaker 1 (32:56):
Okay, that's one cut here's the other one. His message
to Ice cut thirty five and then you can react
to Michelle.

Speaker 2 (33:03):
Let's listen.

Speaker 7 (33:04):
There's little I can say again that'll make this situation better.
But I do have a message for our community, for
our city, and I have a message for Ice to Ice,
get the fuck out of the Appolis.

Speaker 2 (33:18):
We do not want you here.

Speaker 7 (33:21):
Your stated reason for being in this city is to
create some kind of safety, and you are doing exactly
the opposite. People are being hurt, families are being ripped apart.
Long term Minneapolis residents that have contributed so greatly to
our city, to our culture, to our economy are being terrorized,
and now somebody is dead.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
That's on you, and.

Speaker 1 (33:44):
It's also on you to leave, all right, Michelle, your
reaction as a resident of Minnesota.

Speaker 5 (33:52):
But I'm not looking forward to the to the hours
and days to come. First of all, I don't mean
to stoke anything, just I really hope people will calm down,
take a breath. But with his words there, using those
kinds of terms and getting telling Ice to get the
hell out. Look, he's pointing the finger at Ice. They're

(34:15):
trying to do a job. They're trying to do a job.
And he's saying that they are causing the chaos. I
think the chaos in this scene from everything that I've seen,
And again, I don't think we can get one video
and determine what exactly took place. There's no perfect angle
of this thing, and opinions are going to differ. So

(34:39):
he's got one opinion. He's calling it BS. I think
that's completely irresponsible. So he does not own the city.
There are a lot of concerned citizens across Minnesota about
what's been going on, about whether or not they're safe.
You know, it always astonishes me when you think about

(35:01):
quote unquote families being ripped apart. There are a number
of families who have been ripped apart because their daughters
have been raped and murdered, because their kids have been
run over by because someone with an illegal driver's license
caused a car accident, killing multiple people. Those families have
been ripped apart too, And those things wouldn't have happened

(35:23):
if people weren't here illegally and breaking the law while
they were here. So, you know, this is Jacob Fry
doing what he does, standing up for his community, but
only part of it. It's like there are six million

(35:44):
of us here in Minnesota, who are going, Yeah, we
don't want anyone to get hurt. We don't want anyone
to be to be treated unfairly.

Speaker 2 (35:52):
But what about us, Michelle?

Speaker 1 (35:55):
Quickly as we finish up here, you can probably hear
the music in the background. We got thirty seconds. This
make you consider yourself wanting to run for office.

Speaker 5 (36:04):
I have to look at it.

Speaker 2 (36:06):
I have to look at it.

Speaker 5 (36:07):
We need some sanity in this state. It makes me
sad for this state to see how far it has
plummeted in many areas, not just crime. So I will
say that I will look at it seriously.

Speaker 1 (36:21):
Thank you, Michelle. We appreciate everything that you've done to
speak out. We appreciate the time that you spent with
us here. That's Michelle Tafoya, Minnesota falling apart. We'll come
back and play more of those cuts. The mayor is
continuing to talk in an inflammatory fashion right now, carried
live on All the Network, second hour of the program
in the books. When we come back, we'll break down

(36:43):
more about this.

Speaker 7 (36:44):
