Clay shares his experience hosting Fox and Friends Weekend, receiving feedback from viewers and his mom, who advised him to sit up straight, tighten his tie, and look at the camera more. He also recounts his experiences during major earthquakes in San Diego and Los Angeles, emphasizing the importance of preparedness.

The hosts discuss the recent earthquake in San Diego, which measured 5.2 on the Richter scale. Clay recounts his personal experiences during previous earthquakes in California, highlighting the challenges and fears associated with such natural disasters.

The hour concludes with a lively discussion on various topics, including the reaction Trump received at UFC 314 in Miami and the return of the all-female space crew. Clay plays a clip of Trump interacting with his granddaughter Kai on Air Force One, showcasing Trump's energy and charisma even at 2:00 AM.

Listeners are invited to call in and share their thoughts, emphasizing the importance of engaging with different viewpoints. The hosts also highlight the significance of authenticity in public figures and the impact of personal interactions on public perception.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome in our number three Clay Travis, Buck Sexton show.
Appreciate everybody hanging out with us. Off the top again.
Biggest news over the weekend for the Clay and Buck Show.
Buck and Carrie gave birth. I guess Carrie gave birth.

(00:21):
Buck was there to James. They are happy and healthy.
Mom and son are doing well. Buck right now says
he expects to be back on the program tomorrow, so
we will be back together and Buck will be a
new dad doing his first ever radio show as a parent.

(00:41):
We will see how massively had has changed him, if
at all. But in all seriousness, it is an awesome feeling.
You guys have been fabulous online. I know a lot
of you asking questions. I was seeing it on social media.
The baby came in Friday evening after we were off
the air. Pictures are up at Clay and Buck dot com.
You can go to bucks Twitter and Instagram feeds and

(01:05):
see a picture of mom and baby as well. Everything
going fantastically well. Look forward to hearing more details about
that from him tomorrow or if he's not able to
come in tomorrow, whenever he's able to return to the air.
But just fabulous all around. Very exciting. And for any
of you out there that recall or remember or maybe

(01:26):
even our planning soon to become parents, you know what
a transformative life experience that is. And as I said
on Wednesday, i think was Buck's last day before he left,
it is hard to hold a baby in your arms
and not be optimistic about the future.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
It just really is.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
And I think that's true whether you're a dad or
a mom, or a grandma or grandpa, aunt, uncle, cousin,
whatever you are, babies are incredible gifts of joy, lots
of work, and I'm sure Buck and Carry are going
to learning that out. Try to tell him because people
out there, you just really can't tell anybody what it's
like till you actually have a baby of your own.

(02:08):
But people say, oh, you know, we got a dog,
and you know that's we're training for being parents one day,
Like okay, not really the same at all. And once
you have a child, you are going to understand that
there is nothing you can do to prepare for being
a parent except be a parent yourself.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
And so I'm excited for them.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
I know it's going to be awesome, and he is
thankful for all of the fabulous responses that you guys
have already given all the tremendous congratulations, and so we
will hopefully be talking about that in more detail soon.
So far in the program, encourage you to go subscribe
to the podcast, make sure you don't miss a moment.
You can find me, Clay Travis, you can find Buck Sexton,

(02:47):
you can find a lot of people in our podcast
and network, millions of you downloading the podcast every single month.
We thank all of you for listening there as well
as on the five hundred and fifty some odd stations
across the nation.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
But in the first couple of hours.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
We talked about George Clooney and his new play suggesting
that Elon Musk gave a Nazi salute, which did not happen.
We talked about Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro's house, the attempt
to burn it down, and how to me, it's symptomatic
of a larger failure to distinguish between good and evil
in this country. Today, we just played a lot of

(03:23):
cuts for you of Bill Maher talking about his visit
with Donald Trump and how similar his reflections are to
my own. Having spent a decent amount of time hanging
out with President Trump over the past several years. Taylor
the Wrens, Washington Post journalist talking about her love for

(03:44):
a man accused of murdering a dad in cold blood,
shooting him in the back, and a wash in a
Manhattan street. And there are a couple other things that
I wanted to hit with you here off the top
third hour ESPN.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
Stephen A.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Smith went around and did a lot of interviews now
saying that he is thinking about running for president of
the United States in twenty twenty eight. I told all
of you that Trump was going to create a lot
of copycats, that there were going to be other people

(04:21):
out there who have had success in a variety of
different fields that saw Trump with no political past getting
elected and they were going to try to be the
next Trump. Democrats, in particular, I think are desperate for
a new leader because so many of their old leaders

(04:43):
have said absolutely insane things. And Kamala Harris, while getting
raked over the coals for the absurdity of her position
to give transgender illegal immigrants sex change surgeries, that was
what she believed with taxpayer money, she thought that should happen.

(05:04):
That's not out of line for Democrats. That's not outrageous.
They have said every seated elected Democrat right now, truly
ridiculous things, absolutely ignorant, indefensible things like men should be
able to win women's championships, which virtually every Democrat somehow

(05:29):
has lined up behind. Like cutting waste and fraud from
the government is a bad thing. Like putting violent criminals
in prison and holding them there is a bad thing.
They have lined up and said all sorts of crazy things.
So I don't think that Stephen A. Smith is particularly

(05:51):
well versed in the political universe. But I do believe
that there will be some outsiders who try to run
president of the United States as Democrats, and they might
in some way have a measure of success doing it.
But here is Stephen A. Smith out on. Let me

(06:12):
make sure where I get where this took place, because
I want to make sure that I attribute it correctly.
Here says he has no choice but to contemplate a
run for president of the United States, and he said
it while going around and doing the interviews on all
of the different morning shows. He now is pretty firmly

(06:33):
putting his foot forward. Let's listen to what he had
to say. This is on ABC's this week with John
Carl This is what you're about to listen, cut twenty two.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
Are you really thinking about running for president?

Speaker 2 (06:44):
Is this something you think?

Speaker 4 (06:45):
Listen?

Speaker 3 (06:45):
I have no choice because I've had elected officials and
I'm not going to give them names, elected officials coming
up to me. I've had folks who abundits come up
to me. I've had folks that got a lot of money,
billionaires and others that have talked to me about exploratory
committees and things that I'm not a politician. I've never
had a desire to be a politician. I just signed
a contract extension with ESPN. I couldn't be happy. But

(07:07):
here's the reality. People will have walked up to me,
including my own pastor, a crime out loud who has
said to me, you don't know what God has planned
for you.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
At least showed a respect to the people who believe
in you, who respect you, who believe that you can
make a difference in this country, to leave the door
open any possibilities two to three years down the line.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
And that's what I've decided to do. Okay, So that
is Steven A.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
Smith Bockcas pointed out, and I do think there's some
truth to it. Who has run for president of the
United States and actually ended up in a worse position
than they were before. It's an interesting question. Obviously you
can lose, but is Kamala Harris, for instance, who just
lost as president to Donald Trump? Is she really in

(07:49):
that much of a worse position than if Joe Biden
had run and they had lost. Maybe you could say, oh,
she could be the nominee in twenty twenty eight if
Joe Biden had lost. Maybe, But by and large, most
people who run for president of the United States end
up making more money and having more influence than they

(08:11):
would if they had never run at all. And if
your side wins, you may well end up in the cabinet.
You have an opportunity to do something that is fairly substantial,
even if you're not elected president of the United States. Now,
most people do not pull a Stephen A. Smith and
walk away from a twenty million dollar a year salary

(08:35):
to run for president of the United States. So that's
why I don't think he's gonna do it. I don't
think he's gonna walk away from twenty million dollars and
he's not independently wealthy to be fair. Running for President
of the United States costs Trump money, but it wasn't
a direct salary like a Steven A.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
Smith has.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
Most really well healthy guys or gals who run for
president of the United States are former executives. They have
huge amounts of assets, they have tons of stock, tons
of property, and they're still making a lot of money
even if they're not working, because most of their money
is mailbox money. It's not labor money. I'm a labor guy.

(09:22):
I work to get paid. Most of you work to
get paid. Most of you don't have tremendous amounts of
mailbox money where you could stop work and your income
wouldn't change that much. That's why I'm a little bit skeptical.
I do, however, think that Stephen A. Smith is emblematic
of a cadre of candidates that are likely to arise

(09:44):
on the Democrat side that are coming from outside of politics,
because the Democrat Party has gone so insane that anyone
elected to a statewide office, to the Senate, to the
governor's race is actually likely to have a seri of
really poor positions that they've taken out that would be
very difficult to run on on a national level, and

(10:07):
Eve that's even true for governors, which is why I
think they're going to have to go with somebody outside.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
And I do think that Stephen A.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
Smith would do better with male voters because he has
the sports bonafide in the background.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
The challenge for Stephen A.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Smith is I don't think he's actually that knowledgeable about
anything outside of sports. And I don't mean that is
he going to get up on the stage and when
he's asked a question about trade policy, turn it into
a conversation about whether Jordan or Lebron are better. And
I'm not trying to take a shot at him because
he's a very talented guy when it comes to talking

(10:47):
about sports, but he's never done a show that is about,
to a large extent, something other than talking about sports.
I think you could have asked the same question for
me before I started doing this show four years ago.
And this show is a lot less significant significant, but
it's a lot less significant than running for president of
the United States. But I think over time you've said

(11:10):
you've been able to see, Okay, Clay has a strong
position on what's going to happen at the Masters. Congratulates
congratulations to Rory McElroy, but also there's a coherent political
philosophy behind a lot of his arguments. I also went
to law school, so that doesn't hurt in terms of
being able to analyze complicated legal related issues.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Stephen A.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
Smith, I don't buy that he would be able to
be the nominee. But I actually think not having political
background is going to be an asset because it allows
you to change positions publicly without having to be a
total hypocrite, like Gavin Newsom when he tried to finally say, oh, yeah,

(11:56):
it's completely unfair for men to compete in women's sports,
But the problem is he had said the opposite for
some time before. There is an advantage to having a
blank slate sometimes when it comes to political positions, and
I'll tell you Trump took advantage of this. The first
time that I thought to myself, Hey, you know what,
Donald Trump is an intriguing candidate was not when he

(12:18):
came down the escalator at Trump Tower. To me, it
was when remember that first debate with Meghan Kelly, when
everybody watched it on Fox News and Trump was so
commanding of that debate stage. Was actually the part that
made me say, oh, this is a new kind of guy.

(12:38):
Was when he criticized the Republican decision to go to
war in Iraq, because prior to him saying it in
the summer of twenty fifteen, nobody would say it. And
the reason why Trump said it was what he was right.
We should have never I don't know if anybody will
even defend it now. We should have never spent trillions
of dollars going to war in Iraq. It just like

(13:00):
we shouldn't have shut down schools for COVID. The decision
to go to war in Iraq and spend trillions of
dollars to get rid of Saddam Hussein was a disaster.
George W. Bush was wrong, Dick Cheney was wrong. I
think most Republicans now believe that even if you supported
it fifteen or twenty years ago, it was a poor decision.

(13:21):
Trump was the first person to point that out. It's
the first time I said, oh, this is a different
kind of Republican candidate. It's the first time it really
got my attention. A Democrat would have the ability to
turn his or her back on orthodoxy if that Democrat
were not a longtime political candidate and didn't have a

(13:42):
huge record that everybody could pick apart in the past.
The attack is they don't have enough experience. But a
lot of people out there saying is the experience our
politicians have actually that valuable? If you've got experience making
really bad decisions for decades, does that mean you to
deserve a promotion. For Joe Biden, that was the argument,

(14:03):
got everything wrong for years, gets promoted. I don't know
that it's going to work for a traditional politician to
get the nomination in twenty twenty eight. And that's where
I think stephen A may have a little bit of
an argument. But I think there are other people out
there who have better experience in business or media that
might be running as Democrats against stephen A. United States

(14:27):
Concealed Carrie Association, that's the USCCA over eight hundred and
sixty thousand responsible gun owners as members across the country.
I want to talk for just a second about how
challenging this can be. If you have guns in your house,
if you have a concealed carry permit and you're driving around,

(14:47):
what if somebody comes after you and you feel compelled
to defend yourself. I've been as a lawyer in all
day seminars analyzing the decisions that gun owners might have
to make in a fraction of seconds, and suddenly if
you are getting charged because you were trying to defend yourself.

(15:08):
Do you know how much it could cost to try
to go get the right lawyer. Hundreds of dollars an hour,
maybe thousands of dollars might cost you fifty one hundred,
one hundred and fifty thousand dollars to defend yourself if
you discharge your weapon and get charged with a crime
for it. That's what the USCCA can do. They will

(15:32):
find you a lawyer to defend you if you are
a member. They'll also help to teach you about the
law of concealed carry and a family defense guide. If
you own a home, if you own a weapon, and
you have a concealed carry permit, you need to go
look at this website right now. This is why they
have hundreds of thousands of members. You can ensure that

(15:53):
basically you are protected and have the right legal representation.
If God forbid you ever need USCCA dot com slash

Welcome back in Clay Travis buck Sexton show. Appreciate all
of you hanging out with us. A lot of reactions.
Roll in and we'll have some fun with hosting Fox
and Friends over the weekend. You guys were fantastic in
their responses that you shared. Eight hundred and two eight
two I thought I would share with you my mom.

(17:04):
My mom was texting me during the show. So four
hours on Saturday, four hours on Sunday in the Fox
and Friends studio with Rachel Accompost Duffy and with Charlie
Hurt Hurt. My mom said that I needed to sit
up straight, tighten my tie she was unhappy with the
tie not and also that I needed to look at

(17:27):
the camera more. So those were my mom's critiques that
she was kind enough to text me during the course
of the program, and so by Sunday I was trying
to sit up straight, tighten my tie and look at
the camera. More so, that was my mom's feedback. You
can give me your feedback as well. Eight hundred two

(17:50):
two two eight a two. We'll take some of your
calls to close up shop here on the Monday edition
of the program. And I want to tell you, however,
in the meantime, we need to make sure that you
are taking care in the event that you might need
a radio. When you said, what do I need a
radio for? Well, what if your overall communication goes down.

(18:12):
We've had a ton of tornadoes rolling through the Nashville
area where I live.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
Of late our.

Speaker 1 (18:18):
Power went down, and my wife has these radios charged
in the event that we lose power and need to
be able to communicate because cell phone networks are down.
And we also use it because we don't want to
give my ten year old a cell phone. Fourteen years
old is the age that kids get cell phones here.

(18:39):
But if you remember back in the day, we used
to have the Gi Joe radios. You'd run around, you'd
play in the neighborhood. You thought they were awesome. You
can give those to your kids. You can protect yourself

(19:02):
Welcome back in Klay Travis buck Sexton Show. I don't
always know what people are going to write about that
I say, and I spent years and years just trying
to be able to get people to read what I
actually wrote an OutKick, and now there are headlines. It's
a good, good problem to have. I suppose all the

(19:24):
time about the opinions that we share on this show,
that I share on OutKick, sometimes that I'm sharing on
Fox News, and I'm gonna let you guys weigh in
on this. But this just legit made me me laugh
out loud. You know, I was discussing the other day
that you can't trust any man that dies his beard.

(19:46):
I just I mean, and I pointed to me kind
of the ultimate just checkmate move. And I want all
of you to think about this. Imagine if Santa Claus
die his beard, You've got a white bearded guy sitting
in the mall, big red, fluffy outfit, big black belt,

(20:12):
white bearded Santa Claus. All of you will stand in
line to put your kids on his lap and take
a photo. If Santa dies his beard black and tries
to sit in the mall and have kids sit on
his lap, you would demand that he'd get arrested. Santa

(20:35):
Claus is my trump card. You can't die your beard.
I said this a while back about Ohio State football
coach Ryan Day, said he dies his beard. I'm sorry,
it's to midnight black. I don't buy it. It looks

(20:56):
fresh for every new game.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
I said.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
This is why Ohio State fans don't trust him. His
wife has now jumped in my mentions and she is
fervently denying that he died as beard. And the lead
story on a sports site right now called Awful Announcing
is Ryan Day's wife denies Klay Travis's accusation he dies

(21:21):
as beard. This is how we make America great again.
We stop dying beards and we start letting them go gray.
Because Gandolf, hey white bearded man, is the most trusted
man in America. White black, Asian, Hispanic, white beard canotes trust.

(21:44):
Dyed beard can't trust him at all. All right, anyway,
that's fun. That just happened as I was scrolling through
social media. So you never know what's going to become news,
and that is the news right now. Also news there
was an earthquake. I got to rely on the team.
When Buck's not here too, I don't get to spend

(22:04):
as much time checking all the news. The team tells
me that there was an earthquake in San Diego. We
are number one right now in San Diego, so I
hope all of you are okay. Five point two earthquake
thirty or so miles northeast of San Diego. I've been
in two earthquakes in my life. This is something that
everyone who's not from California is terrified of.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
I'm gonna be honest with you.

Speaker 1 (22:27):
First time I started going to California, I thought I
was gonna die of an earthquake. People who come from
California to where I live, they think they're gonna die
of a tornado. Whatever calamity weatherwise doesn't exist where you are,
you presume that you're gonna die of it if you
move to that area. I've been in two, probably the
two biggest earthquakes that have happened in like the last

(22:48):
twenty years in California. One of them was in San Diego.
I had a two year old. I believe my wife
was pregnant with our second. We were taking a vacation
to see Diego. Fabulous place. What is it the gas
light district in San Diego? Did I get that right?
Lantern district? I can't remember what it's called. Some method

(23:08):
by which you put light on is really fabulous in
San Diego. I haven't been there in a while, but
at Padre Stadium looks really nice too.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
I love the way that they built that there.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
All right, so San Diego, we're staying in a hotel
pretty high up our two year old's nap time. Wife
is laying down one to two year old. As Buck
will find out, you suddenly have to take a lot
more naps when you have a little kid. So I
think I decided to take a nap too. All three

(23:38):
of us are in the bed afternoon nap time, and
the bed starts shaking like crazy. There's a two year
old in bed and it's going like we're swinging from
one side to the other, and I don't know what
to do. We're probably on like the fifteenth floor, and
this would have been sometime around iy ME twenty ten.

(24:01):
You can look it up. It was like in category
eight earthquake, I think seven point eight something like that.
And I get up and I say to my wife,
we're supposed to stand. I don't know why this would help, really,
You're supposed to stand underneath the archway. And look, we're
in a hotel room. There aren't really any archways. But
I'm like, I get my two year old and I

(24:21):
go and stand underneath the archway. And the if you're
high up at all, I mean the hotel is really swinging.
I mean it is swaying like crazy. And I'm like,
we got to get underneath the archway. I you know,
the whole thing collapses. I don't know that you're much
safer underneath the archway. Some of you are probably structural engineers.

(24:41):
I think you're screwed. If you're on the fifteenth floor
and a hotel collapses, I don't think you got a
lot of hope. But I'm underneath the archway with my
two year old. He wakes up, of course, because the
beds like moving, because the.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
Whole floor is shaking.

Speaker 1 (24:55):
My wife is standing there, and I say, boy, this
is really a big earthquake. And instead of recognizing that
the building is legitimately swaying and we're from Tennessee, my
wife says, how.

Speaker 2 (25:09):
Would you know?

Speaker 1 (25:11):
She's arguing with me about the severity of the earthquake
while we are standing in a hotel room with the
hotel swinging from one side to the other. If that's
not marriage, I don't know what is. This is a
really big earthquake. Well, how would you know? Well, because
the building might be about we might be about to die.

(25:32):
Is the final thing that you want to have ever
said to me? Is well, how would you know? Because
I'll tell you what if the building starts to collapse
as we're hurtling to our death, you know what I'm
gonna say?

Speaker 2 (25:45):
Told you so.

Speaker 1 (25:47):
Might be the last thing I ever get to say,
but it would be a good one to go out on.
I told you it was a big earthquake, So I
did that one in San Diego survived it, and then
I think it was July fourth. This is where we
need a real time fact checker to make sure that
I get everything right. I think it was July fourth
in La I remember it. PEG two sports. The earthquake

(26:11):
in San Diego happened the same time that Butler was
playing against Duke in the National title game and Gordon
Hayward almost banked in a three to win. Do you
remember that game? That was the year the San Diego
earthquake happened when I was there. And this is also

(26:32):
not ideal when you're married and like, you can't remember anything,
but you have if you're a sports fan like I do.
You don't remember years anymore, but you can remember specific
games in their connection to life events. So that was
that when the one happened in San Diego. The other one.
I'm at the top of the Intercontinental Hotel in West

(26:52):
LA that used to be the Intercontinental Hotel.

Speaker 2 (26:54):
I think they shut it down.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
It overlooks the Fox Lot, Pico and Motor for those
of you have been out to La at all. On
like the fifteenth floor of that hotel, Kawhi Leonard decides
to leave, if I remember correctly, the Raptors and go
to the La Clippers. Shocking decision, and La has a

(27:15):
big earthquake and so also on like the fifteenth floor,
I believe that is the biggest earthquake that La has had.
In the last ten or twelve years, I was on
the fifteenth level there too. And when it's when the
building you are in is multi level and it is swaying,

(27:36):
I don't care what part of the country you're in,
it's pretty terrifying. So both of the major earthquakes that
have hit California, San Diego in LA in the last
fifteen or so years, I somehow managed to be on
the fifteenth level of a hotel and this was my
worst nightmare. The same time, everybody was on the Fox

(27:58):
lot because we were in television. That's why I was
staying out there. You have all these big lights that
are in the ceiling in the studio, and I believe
there's video of the anchors just going directly underneath the
desk because you're thinking, I don't want the big lights
to fall on me. But they were live on the air,
and everybody just paned. Of course, the most famous live

(28:20):
on the air moment of all time is nineteen eighty eight,
I believe, when they had the earthquake during the Bay
series between the Giants and the UH and the A's
and al Michaels, if I remember correctly, says we're having
an Earth and then he gets cut off and nobody
has any idea what happened. I mean that in a
social media age, would be an unbelievable moment to have

(28:46):
that happen. Yes, there you go. Twenty ten. Good work
by the team. Seven point two magnitude earthquakes south of
San Diego. That was in twenty ten. Matth was roughly
right there. And then I had the one in La
around Kawhi. I've been there for both of them. A
lot of you want to weigh in on a variety
of different topics, but when I found out they had

(29:08):
a five to two in San Diego, it took me
back to my reminiscence of being in the middle of earthquakes.
We'll take your calls to close up shop. Appreciate all
of you hanging out with us. Been having an awesome
time here. Eight hundred and two A two two eight
A two. Take your calls, look at the VIPs, react
to those as well. To close out when we return,

(29:31):
and I'll also play Well, let me play this for you,
because I do think this is emblematic of the incredible
vibe shift that we have had. As it pertains to
the President, this was Trump at two am on Air
Force one, right after UFC three fourteen.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
The guy's been working all day. He's on the Uh.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
He's on the plane on Air Force one with his granddaughter, Kai,
who was going to be a golfer at the University
of Miami come this next year. It's gonna be a freshman.
And I thought this was great. He introduced her to
him and said, you know the fake news. This is
the fake news. This is cut eleven what Trump was
doing two am, having a having an interview. Biden had

(30:18):
been asleep for fourteen hours by now, but here was
Trump at two am.

Speaker 2 (30:22):
Okay, come on, Trump, do you know the fake news?

Speaker 5 (30:25):
This is the fake news?

Speaker 2 (30:28):
Good morning?

Speaker 5 (30:31):
What you're doing? A little news conff that you want
to partake? Add she's a great athlete's actually a great golfer.

Speaker 6 (30:38):
Yeah, as a great student actually.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
So that is Trump.

Speaker 1 (30:43):
Grandpa Trump who was super proud of his grandkids, which
is what comes to mind very often because I have
seen him interacting with those grandkids before, and this.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
Is what he's like.

Speaker 1 (30:55):
I don't know that Hitler liked to brag about his grandkids,
but but that's what Trump is. He's just a grandpa
that is probably the overwhelming vibe that you have, and
he is a fantastic in many respects, but the fact
that he had that much energy at seventy eight years old,
goes to a UFC event in Miami and then comes
and takes questions from the press at two am on

(31:19):
the back of Air Force one. What an incredible shift
it is between Joe Biden, who certainly never walked into
the UFC but would have been asleep a long time ago.
I went to Israel in December, as many of you know,
we did the show from there, and life is anything
but normal or easy in Israel these days. While the
events of the Hamas terrorist attack were eighteen months ago,

(31:41):
that doesn't mean life's gotten.

Speaker 2 (31:42):
Easier for Israelis.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
For every effort there is to lead a normal life,
there's also a reminder missile attacks can happen anytime. I've
been there to witness it. I've seen the bomb shelters
that they have, and I've seen all of the work
that the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews does to
help provide life saving aid and secure scurity essentials. Your
urgently needed gift today will help provide things like bomb shelters,

(32:05):
flack jackets, bulletproof vest they'll help first responders, armored security vehicles, ambulances,
and much more. Join us in standing with Israel. Call

eight eight IFCJ. That's eight eight eight four eight eight

Speaker 1 (32:47):
Welcome back in play Travis Buck Sexton show. A lot
of people weighing in on a variety of different topics.
Let's hit some talkbacks here quickly. Raleigh, North Carolina one
oh six point one on FM talk Our. We've been
number one in Raleigh a lot over the years. Nick
has this to say.

Speaker 7 (33:05):
Hey, Clay, it's Nick out a Raleigh.

Speaker 5 (33:07):
I literally said the same exact thing your mom did
to my wife as we were watching on Saturday morning,
and then on Sunday morning.

Speaker 2 (33:13):
I was pleasantly surprised me clean draged up. Thanks keep
both the great work.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
My mom said, if you guys were not listening earlier,
I did Fox and Friends Weekend. Rachel was great, Charlie
was great, a lot of fun. Six to ten. That's
the most time I've been in a television studio. Eight
hours total, four on Saturday, four on Sunday, and my
mom said that I need to look at the camera more,
sit up straight, and tighten my tie. Chape in Columbus,

(33:41):
Ohio agreed with mom.

Speaker 2 (33:44):
Here was his take, Ccee Clay.

Speaker 7 (33:46):
This is Chape from Ohio. I thought the same thing
about eye contact.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
Keep up the good work, and we have a thank you.

Speaker 1 (33:55):
We also have a Santa Clause that wants to that
wants to weigh in on my question that I think
ends the can you die your beard and be trustworthy
question once and for all, because he says, I say, like,
imagine Santa with a dark beard, if he asked your
kid to sit on his lap, you would want him arrested.

(34:17):
You would not trust dark bearded Santa Claus gotta have
a white beard. Jay's fort Myers, you play Santa Claus
during Christmas.

Speaker 7 (34:27):
I am a Santa portrayal artist, yes.

Speaker 2 (34:30):
Well as Santa portrayal artist. So does that mean you
have kids?

Speaker 1 (34:33):
That seems like a very fancy way to say play
Santa Claus, Do you have kids? Sit on your lap
and ask them like in them all, like, where's your
typical location?

Speaker 7 (34:41):
My typical location is I do the tree lighting for
downtown Fort Myers. I've done it for the Mighty Muscles
baseball team. I've done it for resorts in Naples, all
over southwest Florida.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
Okay, so what do you think the reaction would be?

Speaker 1 (34:58):
Well, if you refuse to die your beard, I agree,
but I am I come from the other end.

Speaker 7 (35:05):
I have to bleach my beard so that it is
pure white. So does the coloring that you're talking about
just adding color or taking color away?

Speaker 2 (35:16):
How old are you?

Speaker 7 (35:17):
You're talking about the authenticity of the beard. What about
Santas that use designer beards that are are they any less?
Do they have any less heart for Santa than a
real beard in Santa? I think by using Santa you're
touching on a very difficult subject.

Speaker 1 (35:35):
Thank you for the call. I think Santa has to
grow a real beard. In my opinion, if you want
to be a legit Santa Claus, you can't wear one
of those cheap ones that a kid can pull down. Mean,
come on, and my point is it's the it's the gray,
it's the white beard of Santa Claus that makes him trustworthy.
Santa wouldn't even exist as a major cultural figure if

(35:58):
they had tried to be like, oh, Santa Cla has
a black beard, He'll be in prison forever. Gail in
North Carolina, what you got for me?

Speaker 6 (36:08):
Well, Clay, I just wanted to call in very quickly.
Thanks for taking my call number two. Thank you for
sharing all the information on Buck and congratulations to him
and his family.

Speaker 2 (36:20):
Amen.

Speaker 6 (36:21):
Lastly, I want I wanted to say you did an
excellent job on Fox and Friends. I'm telling you you
are perfect on that couch. I've been telling everybody and
I just want you to hear this. Listen to your
mom because I did text our first cousin and say,
look at the camera, Clay, look at the camera.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
Thank you for the Gail, Well, let me explain the
camera thing. On Fox Sports, they find you and I
wanted to make it clear that I was listening to
my co host, but you have to look at the
camera more from the couch I learned it. You also
have to sit up straight, buck, We'll be back tomorrow.
Congrats to he and carry on the baby love. Y'all
see tomorrow.
