Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's been over two weeks since the assassination attempt of
former President Donald Trump, and we still don't have answers.
Why is that? Do they know and they just don't
want to tell us? Why don't we have the truth? Well,
the acting Secret Service director, because the Secret Service Director
was forced to resign in shame, but the acting Secret
(00:23):
Service Director, Ronald Rowe and FBI Director Paul Abate faced
a grilling on Capitol Hill this week. They testified before
the Senate about the security failures about what happened, and
senators from both sides of the aisle, they're incredibly frustrated
that a lot of questions got very few answers. And
one thing I was appalled by was the Acting Secret
(00:46):
Service Director row that somehow a man walking around with
a rangefinder did not rise to the level of a
big enough threat to try to keep Donald Trump off
the stage. So if I was a senator, I would
have asked, well, how frequently do you see men walking
around with the range finders at rallies? I bet the
(01:08):
answer would be never, So then why do they let
Donald Trump take the stage. We're going to talk to
a senator who was there, who asked some tough questions
who try to get answers from two individuals who really
didn't want to give them. But we'll get her take
on how she viewed the hearing, her takeaways, and what
(01:29):
she thinks of it. Her name is Senator Marsha Blackburn.
You know her from Tennessee. She's a frequent guest to
the show. I love her, She's amazing, So we'll get
her take on that. I also want to ask her
about this Democrat switch up. What does she think about
the presidential race? Now, we're also going to ask her
about a piece of key legislation that is passionate to
her and is near and dear to her heart. So
stay tuned for Senator Marsha Blackburn from Tennessee. Senator Blackburn,
(01:58):
you know, I feel like we live in this upside
down world. So always great to have you as a
guest and to try to make some sense of some
of it as much as we can. But always love
having on the show, and I appreciate you making the time.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
I'm always delighted to join you, and you're so right
about it being an upside down world. Talk to friends
at home and they're like, you know, you can't make
this stuff up. And one of them this past weekend said,
every day I think, hmm, I wonder what is going
to be the outline dish outrage of the day.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
You almost wish some of this was fake. But you know,
it's like what's right is wrong? Up is down? You know,
nothing makes sense anymore in this bizarre world that we
were living in. But part of that, I mean, you're
a part of this hearing with the acting Secret Service
Director as well as the FBI Deputy Director, a lot
of intense questions throwing at the give us your takeaway.
(02:53):
You know, what did you learn? You know, what were
you thinking when you walked away from this hearing?
Speaker 2 (02:58):
Yeah, we didn't learn very much, and it was surprising
that Director Rowe did not have any more definitive answers
for us than he was able to give us. What
that tells me is a few things that I think
are significant. They still do not know exactly what transpired
(03:21):
on July thirteenth when there was the assassination attempt on
President Trump. They do not want to admit or tell
us who cleared President Trump, and the Secret Service has
to clear him to go on stage, but they don't
want to tell us who actually gave him the all
clear and told him he could go on stage. They
(03:43):
still have not shared with us the advanced planning documents
or the day of plan Therefore, we don't know how
systemic this is. And you know that's important, Lisa, because
the Secret Service looks at too different things, counterfeiting and
then protective services. In protective services, they have one mission
(04:08):
and it was it is to protect that individual. There
are thirty one individuals that they are charged with protection.
It is the current president, vice president, their families, and
former presidents and members of the administration that may have
(04:29):
received a death threat. Now with the Secret Service, when
they have a bad day, it's not like somebody messed
up their budget or didn't get their case work completed
and missed their quotas. When the Secret Service screws up,
people die. And that is what you saw in Butler, Pennsylvania.
(04:54):
So these documents are going to be important to us
to figure out how in Heaven's name, local law enforcement
could have identified a suspicious person an hour out and
then they lost him, then they found him again, and
at five fifty one he was tagged as a potential threat.
(05:16):
Sharpshooters were alerted at five point fifty three and President
Trump cleared to go on the stage at six o'clock.
We also know there were communication failures between the local
and state law enforcement and the Secret Service and other
federal agencies that were there. We know that the shooter
(05:40):
flew a drone over the space, but Secret Service claims
they didn't have enough WiFi to fly a drone over
the space. So all of those are questions that he
should have by this twenty in time, had answers for now.
I asked about the whistleblower that just before the hearing
(06:04):
the letter was released, and we heard that the whistleblower's
letter condemning leadership of the Secret Service and also talking
about Secret Service right now has one mission and it
is to play Cya. And we heard that this letter
was deleted from the Secret Service server. So I asked
(06:28):
about that and about the willingness of him as a
new director to allow these whistleblowers to speak up and
to be able to voice their grievances and concerns. I
also asked the FBI Deputy Director Abot about the social
(06:51):
media platforms and post of the shooter, and I felt
like he had misrepresented that earlier he referenced only one
and there are two they have access to. When the
shooter was a young team, he had a social media
platform and he espoused anti immigrant and anti anti Semitic
(07:17):
opinions on that site. There is a more current site
that is on gab dot com and in that one
he espoused pro illegal immigrant, pro lockdown leftist views. And
(07:37):
then there are two other sites that they yet do
not have access to. But he needs to give the
accurate information on these sites and the timeline, well, Senator exceeded.
Speaker 1 (07:50):
The other absolutely. I mean it kind of raises the question,
you know, does he does not have the information or
does he just not want to make it blick?
Speaker 3 (08:00):
And to tell you now, I think the combination of
the two, Lisa, as I said, we need the truth,
the whole truth, and nothing but the truth on this
because it was an assassination attempt on President Trump and
they really messed this up.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
But they've also politicized it because you had the FBI
Director Christopher Ray last week through doubt out if Donald
Trump was actually hit by a bullet, and you know,
he knew that that was the left wing conspiracy theory
going around. He hated that, you know, he gave air
to it. He gave and then he that the uh,
the FBI deputy director saying there is absolutely no doubt
(08:41):
in the FBI's mind that Donald Trump was in fact
hit by a bullet. So why would the FBI director
give legs to a Democrat conspiracy theory in front of
Congress the other week?
Speaker 2 (08:53):
And it is astounding to me that they would do that.
But when you look at these organizations in which most
of the American public has lost faith, and you see
how politicized DOJFBI, and now Secret Service have become, it
causes you to wonder exactly what is going on in
(09:17):
those agencies, and it does eliminate the ability of the
American people to trust that they are going to be
protected and will be protected if they call them these agencies.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
We've got more of a Senator Blackburn. But first, since
the start of the Swords of Iron war in Israel
in October seventh, we have seen death and destruction in
the Holy Land for more than forty years, the International
Fellowship of Christians and Jews has been on the ground
in Israel, and within hours of the war starting, in
everyday since they've been feeding the hungary and protecting the vulnerable.
(09:52):
The attacks continue in the north and the south in Israel,
but there are resilient survivors who bravely share their stories.
Series the Fellowship calls Faces of Iron survivors like Keith,
head of security of the Eshkol region on Israel's southern
border with Gaza. Keith protects the people in his region
on that fateful day, and armored security truck donated to
(10:15):
Keith's community by friends of the Fellowship stopped bullets from
terrorists who fired at Keith as you drove into danger.
Christians like you support Israel through the International Fellowship of
Christians and Jews. It's this support that helps these survivors
remain steadfast and strong. Do you hear more stories like
this one? And to show your support for Israel, visit
support IFCJ dot org. I wanted to ask you. I
(10:42):
know that you're very passionate about the Kids Online Safety Act.
You know, tell us real quick what it is and
why you're so passionate about it.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Yes, indeed, the Kids Online Safety YANGT is a product
design bill. It's a safety bad design bill for children
in the virtual space. And yes, we passed it out
of the Senate on a ninety one to three vote.
There are seventy two senators that are co sponsors and
Senator Womenthal and I have worked on this legislation for
(11:11):
a period of three years. It had been since nineteen
ninety eight that Congress has passed anything that would protect
kids in the virtual space. What this bill will do,
as I said, it's a safety by design bill. It is.
It requires a duty of peer of social media platforms
(11:32):
as well as they have to open their algorithms for examination. Likewise,
it will give a toolbox to kids of parents for
tools to protect them in the virtual's face. It will
require social media platforms to have a portal where kids
and parents can report bad actors, and then it requires
(11:56):
the platform to take those bad actors. It is broadly supported,
and we have had thousands of kids and parents and
hundreds of organizations that have stepped up to back this.
We've got lots of conservative organizations that have worked diligently
(12:19):
to get this passed.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
I wanted to talk a little bit. You know, now
we've got a new Democrat nominee who you know, Democrats
purport to care about democracy, yet they coordinate someone who's
never received a single primary vote or caucus vote. You know,
how do you think Kamala Harris will do and what
(12:42):
do you make of this sudden switch up this lad
in the game.
Speaker 2 (12:47):
You know, I called some of my Democrat friends over
the weekend, or I should say a texted them and
ask them if they had time to talk about this,
because I wanted to see how they felt. And a
couple of them were really very forthcoming. You know, they
feel like they voted for Joe Biden. They didn't vote
for Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren or Kamala Harris because
(13:12):
they are not leftists. They feel like they're moderate Democrats
and they would never have voted for someone who is
to the left of Bernie Sanders and has been ranked
by GovTrack as the most liberal US senator. And by
the way, the year she was ranked the most liberal,
(13:32):
I was ranked the most conservative. And Lisa, they're just
offended that this is someone that the power brokers in
the Democrat Party decided. Well, Joe Biden is so far
down in the polls, there is no way he can win.
So we're going to kick him to the curb, and
(13:54):
we're picking her and she is going to be the nominee.
We're doing polling and we're going to pick a VP.
And as one of my friends said, how do we
know who that's going to be? And why do they
think we are all going to like lemmings follow them
on this. And what they've done is to disenfranchise fourteen
(14:18):
and a half million Democrat voters. And quite frankly, if
a lot of these voters are like my friends, they
are just not going to vote in that presidential election.
They're not going to cast that vote because they feel
like they don't know her. She hasn't been properly vetted.
They don't know exactly what her positions are. Her positions
(14:40):
were defund the police and defund the ice pack, the
Supreme Court, all of these things they disagree with. And
then now they're saying, oh, but not really that was then,
it's not now she's changed her mind. Here are her
new positions, and they're trying to create someone and they're
(15:01):
just not buying it. I really think what they're going
to end up doing is depressing the Democrat turnout.
Speaker 1 (15:07):
You know, but she's getting a lot of help. I mean,
you see how the media is trying Oh, she wasn't. Really,
the borders are, even though we all told you she was,
even though Joe Biden's on camera saying as much, even
though she has said as much, But no, she wasn't.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
The borders are.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
We've seen gouv track try to delete the fact that
she was the most liberal senator, as you pointed out.
We've seen Google try to hide the search for Donald
Trump assassination. We've seen Meta try to block the photo
of the assassination. To have to happen to me, I
got a you know, a fact check thing from Instagram
(15:43):
saying that I posted a doctored photo. Nope, it was
the Associated Press photo. So you know she's going to
get a heck of a lot of help. Well that
a different Yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:54):
They're trying to do that, but you know, honey, honeymoons
are short and then life since and and I think
that is what you're going to see with Kamala Harris.
She'll get a bump coming out of the primary, but
or out of the convention, but people are going to
figure out what she's about, and as they figure out
(16:18):
what her positions have actually been. Honestly, I think there
are a lot of people that are going to have
doubt about that. Is she really going to try the
Green New Deal? Would she be willing to break the
Senate filibuster for that? Is she truly against private health
insurance and wants to eliminate all private health insurance? Is
(16:42):
she so against oil and gas that she is going
to eliminate fracking? And this is going to have consequences
up and down the back.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
Well, Senator, you know we'll count on you to keep
telling the truth and to fight the fight, and hopefully
Republicans can keep the house went back the Senate and
when the White House as well. You know, God knows
this country is in trouble. So, Senator Marshall Blackburn, it's
always an honor to have you on the show. Always
love catching up. Really appreciate you and appreciate you making
(17:13):
the time for the show.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
Thanks so much. Take care.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
That was Senator Marsha Blackburn from Tennessee. Always appreciate her
making the time to come on the show. Appreciate you
guys at home for listening every Monday and Thursday, but
you can listen throughout the week. Ot think John Cassio,
my producer, for putting the show together. Until next time,
