Speaker 1 (00:15):
What's up, guys?
Speaker 2 (00:16):
How are you welcome into a Friday morning episode of
the Daily Juice Podcast. My name is Matt Peralt. You
guys can follow me across all of my socials at
Sports Talk Matt. Look at I'm doing it without anything
on my shoulder. Technically not supposed to be doing this,
but I am about five days away from being officially
(00:37):
out of the sling for my torn peck. So for
the first time in five weeks, I'm doing the Daily
Juice podcast without anything on my shoulder or my arm.
So why am I doing this? Because we need a slumpbuster.
I can't figure out what's going on for consecutive losing days,
(00:59):
and wouldn't you you know what? The haters are out
as they always are whenever things turn and you go cold.
I haven't had a really bad week in a while,
like you know, oh and six, oh and seven type
week had them before, But yeah, downturn for sure. Here
with us for the Daily Juice. The Giants nearly went
(01:21):
over forty one themselves, Cam Scottiboo and company. More in
the Eagles here in just one second, Philly and the Dodgers.
That was Philadelphia. That was the Eagles to win that game. Nope,
they lost the game badly. Dodgers did win an amazing fashion.
Poor Philadelphia got that wrong. And then two lane with
a miracle last second touchdown as we cover luckily cover
(01:46):
that number of six and a half. So that was
our one in two down one point one units. Could
have easily been an oer and three night though, could
have really easily been oh and three.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
Guys.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
The Eagles aren't a good football team. Okay, they're just
not a good football team.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
Now.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
They might wind up being won by the end of
the season, but right now, they won four games, and
they were lucky to win four games. They've now lost
back to back games, and Jalen Hurts is not throwing
the ball well.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
The offensive line is not blocking well.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
In what I thought going into the season and why
I bet the Cowboys to win the division was because
of Saquon Barkley's legs.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
That was a pretty clear.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
Indication last night against his former team that he's exhausted
from last year. He's not the same running back, not
by any stretch of the imagination. Father time has caught
up with Saquon Barkley. Now it might change, but right
now he is not the same player, and thus this
offense is not the same And without Jalen Carter playing
last night that was a tremendous loss. Jackson Dark and
(02:52):
Camp Scattaboo ran right up the gut on Philly all
night long. Big win for the Giants. Now we have
under five and a half wins for the Giants. A
little scary. Not gonna lie, but the seven to one
on the Cowboys to win the division. The Cowboys are
playing at the Panthers and the professionals are all over
the Panthers at plus three and a half on Sunday.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
If the Cowboys can win the game, maybe.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Not cover, but if they win the game, find a
way to win a game on the road against the
Panthers team that is much better at home than they
are on the road.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
You win that game.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
Then they are at home against the Commanders, a game
that they could and should win. They would be four
to two and one, looking like a team who could
very well win the division. Okay, Cowboys are live at
the moment, Commanders are two.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
I'll give it to you. The Commanders are live as well.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
But the team going in reverse that would be the
Philadelphia Eagles, and I'm not buying anyone saying the Giants
are going to win the division. Okay, pump your brakes please.
The Giants are playing a bad team. They lost to
the Saints. Okay, they lost to the Saints and then
turned around on Thursday, on a short week and beat
the Eagles. That says more about the Eagles than it
does the Giants in my personal opinion. But Cam Skottaboo
(04:09):
is the new toast of the town. You know, he's
a new everyone favorite running back, right mister Team CTE
as they're calling it now in New York. Okay, so
two wins, they gotta win four more for our bet
to lose, and they're probably gonna win four more if
they keep on playing like this. But Jackson dart Is
he needs to slide. Somebody to teach that kid how
(04:29):
to get down. Don't get your head taken off, kid.
But I liked him in the draft process. I thought
he was a guy that should have been taken in
the top fifteen. He went outside the top twenty wounds
up landing with the Giants, and you know, the Giants
have found themselves a pretty fun story.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
Now.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
We've seen fun stories like this before. Okay, Daniel Jones
at one point was a very fun story in New
York for a running quarterback who could throw. It seems
like Daniel Jones is doing pretty well right now in
Indianapolis when you get out of New York. So I
don't know long season to come, a lot of football left,
but right now I like our ticket on the Cowboys
(05:05):
to win the division.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
I'm still a believer.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
Nobody else is, but I'm still a believer in the
Dallas Cowboys. Before we get into the picks for today,
I got three bets in three different sports here on

and you are in. That's all you need to do.
All right, Let's talk about college football tonight, Washington and Rutgers.
The numbers ten or ten and a half. I really
don't know what to make of this game. From a
side perspective. I think Washington wins, but I think Rutgers
might be able to hang around. Their offense is really good.
The offense is been scoring a lot of points. But
this is a Big Ten game on a Friday night.
(07:18):
So I went and started looking at some numbers. So
Rutgers has played two games in the Big Ten. They're
five and oh to the over so far this season.
Against Norfolk State it was fifty five and a half.
Against Iowa it was forty six and a half. And
against Minnesota it was fifty one. Minnesota on the road,
(07:38):
thirty eight to thirty one. The final score. Keep that
in mind here for one second. That game went over
by eight points fifty nine. It fell forty six and
a half. The thirty eight twenty eight. That game did
get over sixty and a half. And that's Iowa, which
is somewhat surprising. But Rutgers lost that game to Iowa
(08:00):
at home. Now, Washington's defense held Ohio State at home
to twenty four points. They then turned around and they
held Maryland on the road to twenty points. The last
two games for Washington have gone under fifty three and
fifty two. The Ohio State game went under by twenty
(08:20):
three points and the Maryland game went under by eight points.
I can't get over this total being sixty and a
half for a Big ten football game like this is
just a principal bet for me.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
You're giving me sixty and a half points in a Big.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
Ten football game, and I am full of way of
fully aware at the offense for Washington. How poor the
defense for Rutgers has been this year. They're giving up
over twenty nine points per game. This is a team
that's giving up three hundred and seventy nine yards per game.
They're giving up six point seven opposing yards per play
Rutgers defense.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
This is not a typical Rutgers season. But on the
flip side, ruck or offense is good.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
They're scoring thirty three point eight points per game, over
four hund yards of offense per game. They are running
the ball well enough, but they're passing the ball top
fifty in the country eight point two yards per pass play,
but Washington's defense only gives up six point one yards
per pass play. That's top twenty five in the country.
Washington's defense also only gives up three hundred yards per
(09:23):
game total, that's top twenty five in the country. They
give up four point six yards per play, that is
also top twenty five in the country. I'm sort of
making a case here for Washington minus ten. But I'm
worried that maybe Washington looks to run the football and
they don't score to their average either, and they score
in the twenties and they don't cover ten and a half,
(09:44):
maybe ten.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
The numbers come down to ten in certain books.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
Maybe they win the game by eight, win the game
by nine they don't win, or maybe ten we push.
Maybe it's a thirty one to twenty one type final here.
I just can't get over the fact that it's sixty
and a half in a Big ten football game at Washington.
Given what Washington's defense is capable of doing, it could
be a blowout. Washington might kill Rutgers.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
I get it. Rutgers as a quarterback.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
Now Rutgers has wide receivers now they've done some really
impressive things. But again, this Washington defense held Ohio State
to under thirty points. If they hold Rutgers to under
thirty points, even under twenty five points, how many points
is Washington scoring forty?
Speaker 1 (10:29):
I don't see it.
Speaker 2 (10:30):
I just don't. I just don't think they're scoring. This
is still a big ten game that we're talking about under.
I'm gonna bet the under sixty and a half. If
I'm wrong, I'm wrong. Washington Rutgers under sixty and a
half for one point one units. The baseball game tonight,
it is going to be Kirby against school Ball game
(10:51):
five in Seattle. The winner goes to the American League
Championship Series. Boy, this is a hard game to fade
if you're gonna bet against the Tigers. Terry Scuable is
the best pitcher in the American League, and he's arguably
the best pitcher in baseball. Him Paul Skins. He's in
the conversation. This guy's lights out. He's unhittable in big games,
(11:13):
He's unhittable on most nights. And I know Kirby's been okay.
Three to two final in the first matchup between these
two teams and Schooble was schooable. If he is Terry
Scuble and if he pitches the way he's capable of,
I don't know what the Mariners really can do unless
they get him out of the game and get to
(11:33):
the bullpen. I don't like the Tigers bullpen, I'll be honest,
I don't like it. But watching the Dodgers and the
Cubs last night, and it went one to one all
the way into extra innings, in which, by the way,
if you are still drunk in Philadelphia, I don't blame
you to have your football team get embarrassed on national
(11:54):
TV in your baseball team's season end on an error.
I've been making some an allergies on the Bostonian versus
the book, talking about how Philadelphia is the new Boston
circa two thousand and three, that all the success for
the football team has created a really rough environment for
everybody else. I didn't think I was going to see
a Bill Buckner moment, but the Phillies now have a
(12:16):
Bill Buckner moment, and I'm not sure they'll ever wear
those powder blue unis ever again, but for tonight, unless
Kirby gets lit up, okay, and look Kirby could get
lit up. I'm not saying that's impossible, but unless that happens,
I think the only play in this game is the
under six. Because this feels like a three two, three,
(12:37):
one two one type baseball game. I can't see this
game being high scoring. It would be stunning if it
was high scoring. Kirby at home this year a three
point three eight ERA, a five and four record, two
point two seven opposing batting average.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
He give seven home runs at home.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
In sixty six innings worth of work this twenty five
earned runs in the game against Detroit in the first
time he pitched in Game two final and eleven innings
the three to two loss.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
He went five, gave.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
Up two earned runs, handed off to the bullpen, who
pitched well enough, but they lost the game three to two.
He did have a rough outing against Detroit at Detroit
back in July, five innings, four earned runs, but the
team won fifteen to seven. So not really, I don't
know how much you can really glean from from that.
It'll be a quick hook for George Kirby. I mean,
(13:26):
the Tigers are gonna are gonna ride school ball all
the way to the end. I mean they're gonna let
him go for I don't know if there's gonna be
a pitch count for Schoolble. He threw ninety seven pitches
in Game two. He threw one hundred and seven against
Cleveland in his one start against the Guardians, a two
to one win, two to one, three to two, under six,
(13:49):
I mean against Cleveland at the end of the year
it was five to two, but three to one before that,
eight to two, six to nothing, five nothing, you know,
one nothing. This is, I thoughd it hard to believe
this game would be high scoring. If it is, I'll
just tip the cap and you could say Matt r
Ice cold because I am so. Maybe you want to
fade it and bet the over. There's five and a
(14:10):
half's in the market. I found a six. We're gonna
go ahead and take the six Tigers Mariners under six
at minus one twenty one for one point two one units.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
Now bet number two or three rather.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
Vegas goes for their third championship in four years tonight
on the road against Phoenix. Here's the thing about Phoenix.
For Vegas, they own the Mercury, straight up own the Mercury.
They've won five straight games at Phoenix They've won four
of them by at least three points, and you look
at the way they've played straight up.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
Over their last ten.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
They're eight and two, including blowing a big lead in
the fourth quarter of Game three. That was the game
the Mercury. That's what they were supposed to do. It's
supposed to win. They came back down seventeen points and
then Asia Wilson did Asia Wilson type things, hit the
game winner with one second to go. Aces win. They're
up three games to none. They close it out here tonight.
(15:06):
Aces have won six of seven. They've covered in five
of them. I just the Mercury had a chance to
do some things in this series, but they've lost too
many players big injury to their top score. Going into
the game number four, I think Dewanna Bonner is gonna
have to have a superstar type and you know she
needs to have an Aga Wilson type game for them
to win.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
I don't think that they will. This game's on ESPN.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
It's an eight pm Eastern time, five pm Pacific time
start for this one. I like the Aces normally in
deciding games. Unders aren't a bad thing, but it's not
a game seven to game four, So I don't have
a play on the total, just lay in the three points.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
Let's go Vegas three and four years.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
Let's have another strip party, another parade on the Las
Vegas Strip for the Las Vegas Aces, which will cement
their dynasty in the WNBA and Becky Hammond winning three
championships in four years with Aja Wilson, a heck of
a performance, a heck of a domination for the Vegas Aces.
(16:09):
So plays for tonight on Friday, and by all means
fade away if you want. Washington Rutgers in the Big
ten under sixty and a half at minus won ten,
Tigers Mariners under six at minus one twenty one, and
the Vegas Ace is laying three on the road to
Phoenix in Game four of the WNBA Finals. Here tonight,
three bets in three sports minus Matt Parolz. You guys
(16:31):
can follow me across all my socials at Sports Talk
Matt every morning wherever you guys get your podcasts.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
It is the Daily Juice
Speaker 2 (16:51):
