Speaker 1 (00:15):
What's up, guys? How are you welcome into a Monday
morning episode of the Daily Juice podcast. My name is
Matt Parralt. You guys can follow me across all of
my socials at Sports Talk Matt, and we are back
after a mixed bag type of day for us yesterday.
It wasn't all bad, it wasn't all good. A really
rough Sunday. Patrick Mahomes blows out his ACL. He is

(00:36):
done for a while, six to eight months. Thirty year
old Patrick Mahomes, thirty one year old Tom Brady. Kind
of we are the Chiefs well, Bernard Pollard's the one
that had the dirty hit low on Brady that blew
out his knee and the Chiefs quarterback now is done
and not good. There. We saw an injury obviously to
other star players like Michael Parsons. He is done ahead

(00:59):
of their big game coming up on Sunday against the Bears.
That's not good. The Thursday night matchup is obviously a
huge one between the Rams and the Seahawks, but DeVante
Adams injured his hamstring, so he's probably not playing in
that game. So injuries all over the NFL really a
significant Sunday for the rest of the season in terms
of who could be available for teams that are in

(01:22):
the playoff chase in the Super Bowl chase. But for
yesterday we go too and zero on the teasers, Jags, Eagles,
cash is easily, Patriots, Broncos gets there. The Patriots lose,
but they cover the teaser. The Broncos win that. Broncos
now have a one game lead outright on the Patriots
for the number one seed in the AFC. Seahawks win,

(01:46):
but they don't cover. The Cowboys lose outright. The Lions
lose and do not cover. But we come in with
the Giants who lost to clinch the under five and
a half wins, and we hadn't counted it yet, but
the Bronco have now gone way over their nine and
a half wins, but they are right in line to
win the division, which is something that debro was all

(02:07):
over in August. So we go four and three up
point seven units on the day for us. So these
are the times of the year where we get to
count our future wagers. Now the Bucks are live to
win the South, which is huge. After the Saints beat
the Bucks and the Panthers in back to back weeks,

(02:30):
the Panthers again lose as favorites. The Panthers are now
zero to twelve straight up in their last twelve games
as being a favorite in the NFL. That is an
unbelievable mark, an unbelievable run. So if they are favored
at all the rest of the season, we're betting against
them for sure. But the Saints showing a lot of
moxie and a lot of fight there getting a win

(02:53):
with the last second long field goal at home to
take care of the Panthers. There is a Monday night
game coming up tonight between pitt's Burg and the Dolphins
with a really significant injury for Pittsburgh that we're going
to talk about here in just one second. But before
we do that, let's talk about our friends at hard

I was all set and ready to bet on the

(04:00):
Steelers minus three, but the numbers for the Steelers without TJ.
Watt in the lineup are so ridiculous that I can't
do it. They are one in ten straight up without TJ.
Watt in the lineup, and he will not play in
this game due to a dry needling injury that was

(04:21):
suffered in the training room. Not on the football field,
but in the training room. These are the injuries much
like Tyrod Taylor when he got his lung punctured by
a trainer That leads to lawsuits and a lot of
questions about what exactly they were working on because TJ.
Watt has not been on the injury report, so what

(04:42):
did he have that required the dry needling that deflated
his lung, which is a pretty serious situation and nothing
to play around with. So he's not playing. We'll see
when he winds up playing again. But that is keeping
me off the side entirely. I can't get involved with it.
It's tua. It's going to be twenty five degrees in Pittsburgh.

(05:05):
He when the temperature goes below forty degrees is awful.
The Dolphins in general are awful again. I was all set.
The Steelers are twenty two and oh at home on
Monday Night football like ridiculous. Mike Tomlin's record on Monday
Night overall is ridiculous. The Steelers are just an auto
bet until the TJ. Watt injury happened. I was all

(05:28):
ready to jump in and go, yes, we are betting
on the Steelers. Instead, I want to go to the
total and the total being forty two and a half.
When you start peeling back the onion a little bit
and start looking at some of these numbers for the
Steelers in terms of what they've done, they are four
and two to the under at home. Now the Dolphins

(05:51):
are four to two and one to the over on
the road. But this to me has more to do
with the Miami offense against the Pittsburgh defense. And the
weather is use that Tua will have with a rock
hard football and a guy that just is not good
at playing in this cold weather to Miami Dolphin football
team going north to Pittsburgh to play in a very

(06:12):
difficult environment on Monday night. The last home games for
the Steelers five of them four and one to the under.
Buffalo was forty four, game went under by eleven points,
Cincinnati was forty seven and a half, game went under
by one and a half points, Indianapolis was fifty two,
game went under by five points, and Green Bay forty six.

(06:37):
The game went over by fourteen points to Cleveland. On
the twelfth of October thirty seven and a half, the
game went under by five and a half points, four
and one to the under. Over the last five games
road games for the Miami Dolphins, recently against Atlanta. It
pushed against the Washington Commanders overseas, the game went under

(07:01):
by eighteen points. Last game against the Jets on the road,
Miami scored thirty four points, but Achan went nuts in
that game and they won the game thirty four to ten.
That I had more to do with the Jets defense
total forty one and a half. The game went over
by two and a half points. I think Pittsburgh should
win this game. Okay, they need it, Lamar Jackson the
company won yesterday. They need a win. But I just

(07:25):
it's three. It was three and a half and the
pros came in and gobbled up all the three and
a half's. Now they've gone to three. There's a lot
of pro money on Miami here, so thinking they're playing
really hard and they're actually you know, a team that
you can back at the moment, and that Pittsburgh is
not that good. You have a twenty four point win
over the Jets, a four point win over the Saints,

(07:46):
a three point win over the Commanders, and a seventeen
point win over Buffalo at home. For Miami over their
last four games, they're seven and six. They're still kind
of in the playoff conversation. Pittsburgh is six and seven
and they're not really in the playoff conversation outside of
winning the division. So it's a big game for both
these teams. I think when we get big games, we

(08:08):
get cold weather. We've got an offense that is not
playing very well for Pittsburgh and we have an offense
for Miami that won't play well in the weather. I
think the best play in the game and just to
bet the under under forty two and a half in
this one. I don't love it, but I think that's
the best play in this game, is to come in
and take the under at forty two and a half

(08:29):
here for Pittsburgh and for Miami on Monday Night football.
There is one prop that I like in this game,
and it is Tua to throw a pick against an
extremely opportunistic defense for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Tua has thrown
fourteen interceptions this season. That is leading the NFL. With

(08:49):
Gino Smith, who didn't play yesterday due to injury. Kenny
Pickett's played, who scored a grand total of zero points
in that game. Some people were trying to tell me
that Kenny Pickett's a better quarterback than Geno Smith. That
was comical, and we saw it on Sunday yesterday. But
Tua thirteen games played with fourteen interceptions. I mean, you

(09:11):
can just kind of pencil him in for picks. It's
kind of crazy how often he is throwing eighteen touchdowns
in fourteen interceptions, Like that's just unacceptable. But I mean
he didn't throw a pick against the Jets. Okay, fine,
that's the Jets. He threw one against New Orleans. Overseas

(09:32):
against Washington, he didn't throw a pick, but he threw
two against the Bills, one against Baltimore, three against Cleveland,
three against the Chargers. I mean, if you have any
assemblance of a pass rush and you can get up
into the face of Tua, you can feel pretty good
about picking them off. And the Steelers have eleven interceptions
on the season. It's a cheap price of one of

(09:54):
minus one ten for two to throw a pick here.
I think it happens. I think two is gonna throw
a pick. I'll take this defense to be really opportunistic.
Might be a deflection, might be something wonky, but I'm
gonna take an interception here to to throw a pick. Yes,
at minus one ten for one point one units. Now,

(10:15):
hockey play four tonight, and I think this is We're
gonna have to get into hockey. We're gona have to
get into to basketball tomorrow, the NBA Cup Final and whatnot.
But let's talk about their predators and their game up
against the Saint Louis Blues. These teams played a game ago.
Now Nashville has played the Avalanche in between. It was
a seven to two win for their Predators up against

(10:37):
the Saint Louis Blues. Then Nashville went and lost four
to two to the Colorado Avalanche. For the Blues, they
went ahead and beat the Blackhawks three to two after
they lost seven to two to their Predators. The scores
for games involving Saint Louis the last four games have
been four to three, five to two, seven to two,

(10:59):
three two, So we've seen some pretty high scoring games
the last four games. Overall for Nashville, they've had a
first period over. Saint Louis has had a first period over.
It was three goals against the Blackhawks. The Predators had
two goals in that game. The Bruins game only had

(11:20):
one goal, but it was a five to two final.
The Canadians game had three goals in the first period.
It was a four to three final. The Senators game
did not have any goals but four in three to one.
Over the last four games for Saint Louis four and
zero overall for Nashville. We are expecting, and this is
always difficult to say because you don't know who exactly

(11:41):
is going to be a network taping overnight, but it
looks like it's Sorrows against Hawfer, who has played quite
a bit here. Hawfer, in games he has started, we've
gone first period over against Chicago, first period over against Nashville,
two in a row for him. The game against Boston
and Ottawa did not go over the first period one

(12:02):
and a half goals, but the game against Anaheim did
back in the first of December, so he's three and
two to a first period over sorrows. On the other side,
against Saint Louis, he was in net when there were
two goals scored in the first period. The Colorado game
had four goals in the first period for him. Against
Carolina there were three goals he gave up in the

(12:24):
first period there two to one overtime with Florida that
game did not have a first period over, but Calgary
equally three and two or three and one over the
last four games three in a row for Sorrows in
net for the Nashville Predators, it's a cheap price. I
think we've bet a first period over. We get two

(12:44):
goals early between Nashville and Saint Louis, even if the
goalies are different than what we expect. I still think
it's pretty good to jump in on this. Given what
both teams have looked like early. We could see one
to one easily, two to two easily between these teams.
First period and fast starts. We've gotten off to it
quite a bit. We're gonna play first period over Nashville

(13:04):
and Saint Louis over one and a half goals at
minus one twenty five. So three plays for us here
today under forty two and a half for the Steelers
and for the Dolphins. Two are to throw a pick
at minus one ten and Nashville and Saint Louis over
one and a half goals in the first period at
minus one twenty five. Now, if you want more of
