Speaker 1 (00:15):
What's up, guys? How are you welcome into a Monday
morning episode of the Daily Juice podcast. My name is
Matt Perraultz. You guys can follow me across all of
my socials at Sports Talk Matt, and we come to
you after a winning day. A four and two day
Jaguars easy bet, Pittsburgh easy bet. The teaser wasn't easy,
(00:35):
but it came in. The under was easy in case
against Houston. The Chiefs do not win, however, and the
Jets get housed. There's always one bad bet of the day.
But a four and two mark up one point nine
units on the day for Sunday, up one point nine
units on the day for Saturday. So a winning week,
a good week. We will hopefully keep it rolling here
(00:58):
into a Monday Day as we continue to roll here
with the NFL season, Monday Night Football. Got three bets
going on Monday Night Football coming up here for tonight.
The hard rock bet yesterday did hit, so we're now
seven and two for the hard rock bet of the day.
Those things will pop on Wednesdays and on Sundays, so
(01:20):
we did well. We did good getting that knocked down
for yesterday with the under which came in relatively easily
for us on that. Speaking of hard Rock Bet, a
reminder that they are the presenting sponsor of the Daily
Juice podcast. The holidays are here. The sports schedule is

and in the Eagles coming up here tonight on Monday
Night Football. So there are a bunch of things that
happened yesterday, namely the Chiefs losing. They're now six and seven.
Sorry if you have kids in the car, but they're
(02:47):
six and seven. They're done. They've been eliminated from contention
in the AFC West. They cannot win the division. So
now it's Chargers up against the Broncos. The Broncos have
a very big lead, but the Chargers still need to
work to get into the playoffs. It is remarkable, but
of the four big name quarterbacks in the AFC, Lamar Jackson,
(03:11):
Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Joe Burrow, there is a
very real chance that only one of them will make
the playoffs. The next tier is justin Herbert. I'm hesitan
to put bow Knicks in that category or the Drake
may in that category. But they're kind of, you know,
(03:31):
the second tier guys. They're not the big marquee guys.
But if you're a TV executive, the idea of playing
a playoff bracket in the AFC without those four quarterbacks
is insanity. Now, chances are one of them will make it,
because either Lamar Jackson. Well, the loss yesterday kind of
(03:51):
eliminates Joe Burrow, so Joe Burrow kind of can't make it.
Joe Burrow won't be in it, So you can cross
Burrow off. He's done. You can cross Mahomes off. I
think he's done two, So that would lead you with
Lamar Jackson in Josh Allen. I think Josh Allen's going
to make the playoffs regardless of the If the Patriots
win next week, it's a hat and t shirt game
for the Patriots next week in Foxboro. Pats of two
(04:13):
weeks to prep for the Bills for a win that
will clinch the division for them in week fifteen, which
is incredible. But Josh Allen probably makes it, but you're
probably Lamar Jackson is a big question mark. He's now
six and seven, So what do you do with Lamar
Jackson and the Ravens. Are they going to make it?
Right now? I would say that Division one team, the Steelers,
(04:36):
would be that team to get into the postseason. So
long way of talking about the fact this is a
big game for the Chargers, not nearly as big of
a game for the Eagles, but clearly they want to
turn the tide because things have been going really sour
for Philadelphia. But the problem for the Eagles is that
they've already ruled out Lane Johnson and Jalen Carter for
(04:59):
this game. Lane Johnson, when he plays, the Eagles are
so much better, I mean, are so much better. Since
twenty thirteen, including the postseason, the Eagles are one twenty
sixty two in one straight up when Lane Johnson plays.
When he does not, they're fifteen and twenty six. Over
(05:22):
the last ten years, Philly is twelve and twenty five
straight up when Lane Johnson does not play. They don't
run the ball as effectively, they don't have as much
time to throw the football when he's out. He's a
gigantic piece to this offense and he will not be
playing tonight. On top of the fact that Nick Siriani
(05:45):
has not done well when it comes to bounce back spots.
When Philly is coming off a loss under Nick Sirianni,
they are eight and fifteen ATS in their next game.
That's horrible. Even after consecutive losses with Philly, Nick Siriani
is just three and five against the spread. You look
(06:08):
at the Eagles at eight and four. Okay, they've lost
back to back games. If they lose this game tonight,
they will have lost three games in a row. Now,
they play the Raiders at home next week, that's a win.
Then they'll play the Commanders on the road. That should
be a win. Then they play at the Bills, big
(06:30):
question mark. The Buffalo will need that game. The Eagles
will need the game. But if remember a couple of
years ago when the Eagles started off ten to one
and then they just fell on their face. If they
lose to the Raiders at home next week, I mean,
they lose this game tonight, it's going to be catastrophic
because they're eight and five. If they lose to the Raiders,
they'd be eight and six. And I'm not saying that
(06:51):
the Eagles are in jeopardy of losing the division because
they're up by two games in the lost column on
the Cowboys, and the Cowboys skeed is not easy. Okay,
they play against the Vikings on Sunday Night Football this
coming week, they play the Chargers at home, and they
end at the Commanders and at the Giants. They have
no choice but they run the table. They'd be ten
(07:14):
six and one if they ran the table. Do we
really see the Eagles losing three more games, three games,
because that tie is going to be really costly for
the Cowboys. If that was a win and they were
going to go eleven and six instead of ten five
and one, that would be different. Okay, ten six and
(07:37):
one for them, you know, going eleven in or we
twelve and five, right potentially, Yeah, so we'd be eleven
and six versus ten six and one. That win could
be really a big difference here. So the Eagles, they
don't have to win this game. They would like to
win this game. I don't think they're going to. I
(07:59):
think even with the injury to the hand of Justin Herbert,
I still think this is going to be a pretty
big game here and a pretty big opportunity for the
Chargers to get a w. Jim Harbaugh on Monday Night Football, Okay,
this is a guy that you want to back, Okay,
(08:20):
and when he's at home, you want to back him
in a much win situation against an Eagles team that
has not been good on Monday Night football. Philly in
their last five games on Monday Night is one in
four against the spread. Jalen Hurts is four and six
ats in his career on Monday Night football. In night
games on the road, Jalen Hurts is four and six
(08:43):
against the spread, and the Chargers have never been an
easy game for the Eagles going out West. Eagles have
faced the Chargers eight times, two five and one against
the number, losing their last meeting at home to the
Chargers back in twenty twenty one. Justin Herbert has already
nineteen games in his career when he's been listed as
(09:03):
a three point dog or higher. Now the number is
two and a half now, but it was three. He's
twelve six and one against the spread. Without Lane Johnson,
without Jalen Carter, I'm taking You can take money line
Chargers here if you want, but I'm just gonna come
in here and I'm gonna take plus two and a
half Chargers plus the points for one point one units
(09:27):
equally injury to Justin Herbert. The offensive line for the
Chargers has not been great. Okay, no Jalen Carter, but
the offensive line's not been great. The running game for
the Eagles without Lane Johnson is not going to be effective,
and so it's gonna be a lot of Jalen Hurts
running the football. Justin Herbert has a passing attack that
(09:50):
is good, but this is a good pass rush in
a good Eagles defense. I don't think either offense scores
all that much here for tonight. They've been both teams
have been pretty much five hundred on the road, three
and three on the road for Philly, three and three
at home for the Chargers. But the last four games
for the Eagles have all gone under by four to
(10:13):
two and a half, twenty and a half and twenty
eight points. You have to go back to the Giants
game at home on the twenty six of October to
find a game where the Eagles have gone over. That
was forty three and it went over by fifteen points.
On the flip side, the Chargers last game against Vegas
did go over thirty one to fourteen, but that was
due to some late scores and some strange things happening.
(10:36):
Previous two games against Pittsburgh and Jacksonville went under by
two and eleven points against the NFC. This year against
the AFC five and four to the over for the Chargers,
but you know, you look at them now, one in
two against or two and one to the under against
teams on the NFC. The game against Washington forty eight
(10:58):
and a half under by eleven and a half points.
The game against the Giants forty two and a half
game went under by three and a half points. They
did go over against the Vikings. But I think this
game here against Philadelphia, I think both teams look to
establish the run, both defenses have their way here. We're
going to play the under under forty one and a
(11:20):
half for the Chargers in the Eagles tonight on Monday
Night Football. And like I mentioned Jalen Hurts, if you
look at the prop at cheat sheet, Jalen Hurts to
go ahead and go over his rushing prop here tonight
of twenty nine and a half for Jalen Hurts at
minus one fourteen. He has gone over this number now
thirty one yard rushing, thirty three yard rushing, thirty one
(11:42):
yard rushing in his last three football games. So as
say Kwon Barkley has not been as effective running the football,
Jalen Hurts has become a more willing runner of the
football here for this offense to pick up first downs
and to move the chains and to score frankly score
touchdowns as well. I'm touchdown is even money for Jalen Hurts.
I don't mind not play either, but we'll just go
(12:04):
ahead and take the over twenty nine and a half
rushing yards for Jalen Hurts here for tonight. Properly at
Chichie is projecting this at thirty one and a half
yards rushing. It is not a great play from a
numbers perspective, but I do think if you go and
read Debros primer for fancy pros, he thinks Jalen Hurts
(12:28):
is a big game today with the football in his hands,
both running and passing, so he can go over as
passing yards too if you would like. But I'm gonna
take the rushing numbers for Jalen Hurts and go over
twenty nine and a half yards rushing for Jalen Hurts
here tonight without Lane Johnson. I think he'll be looking
to run a bit more and be a more active runner.
At minus one fourteen for one point one four units,
(12:51):
so chargers plus two and a half under forty one
and a half and Jalen Hurts over twenty nine and
a half yards rushing. Now, if you would like to
hear hear me rant and rave about Notre Dame in
Miami and the college football playoff bracket that came out yesterday,
or you would like to hear more about a week
from what happened at the end of the Raider game
(13:11):
and how amazingly bad luck that was if you were
somebody who had laid seven and a half or eight
with the Denver Broncos up by ten with six seconds
to go in the Raiders kick a field goal after
getting a phantom call to stop the clock that should
have ended the game, and said the refs call a
(13:33):
delay of game penalty on the Broncos for tapping the
football out of the hands of the Raiders setting up
a field goal. Why a field goal and not a
hail Mary? I have no idea, but if you want
to hear me rant and rave about that, you can
do so by watching the Bostonian Versus the Book live
at one pm Eastern time audio podcast immediately following that
(13:56):
as well. You can also see it on X at
Boston Versus the Book on X and at Boston Versus
the Book on YouTube starting at one pm Eastern Time.
Here today for a full preview of Eagles at Chargers,
in a full recap of Sunday's games and the college
football playoff bracket coming out yesterday with the Irish being
left out, and every one has a take on Notre
(14:19):
Dame being left out of the college football playoffs. Notre Dame,
Kansas State, Baylor, Iowa State, and more have all elected
up to seven teams now that have elected to not
play postseason football, to not go to a bowl game.
We got problems, guys, for college football. We got big problems.
(14:44):
If the only thing people care about is the playoffs,
you're the NFL and you will lose. You will lose
that fight. If you think you can contend with the
NFL and you think your product is on par you
will lose that fight. College football needs to be different.
Bowl games makes college football different to now just say
(15:08):
we're not going to bowl games. There's an economic impact
to that. There's a lot of things to talk about.
