Speaker 1 (00:15):
Hey guys, how are you welcome into a Wednesday morning
episode of the Daily Juice podcast. My name is Matt Parolt.
You guys can follow me across all of my socials
at Sports Talk Matt, and we come to you after
unfortunately a one in two day. The next do end
up winning the NBA Cup. Please, New York do the
best thing ever? Please do it. Hang a banner?
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Please? Did I say my name is Matt Parolt? How
are you?
Speaker 1 (00:38):
I don't know if I said that or not, but
please New York hang a banner please for the NBA Cup.
It would be it would be perfect. Spurs don't cover.
We got one goal, it was one nothing after one.
Couldn't get that second goal in for Colorado and Seattle,
so that under that over does not hit. But Jacksonville
State they win the game outright. In the bowl game,
they covered the two and a half there so a
(00:58):
one in two day down one point three five units.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Now I've got a bull bet.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
I've got a basketball bet, and I've got a NBA
player prop that will be placed upon the Betting Pros
app later today.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Go and check it out. Betting Pros.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Goes, download the app, and then go search at Sports
Talk Matt on the app to go and find that
prop bet that we be placed some time in the
middle of the day that I'll put that up for
the Betting Pros on the Betting Pros app for the
NBA prop bet of the day. There's only two games
in the NBA. I normally don't love betting prop bets.
There's only two games on the schedule, but this is
(01:36):
a really bad betting day, Like there's not a lot
to pick from, and this is a very thin schedule,
thin NHL, thin NBA.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
And then it's America East Day.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
I mean, we got to bet the America East going
on here for what's happening for the college basketball slates,
just not a lot of great games to get into.
But I've got a football play, I've got a basketball
and then I've got the NBA player prop coming up
later on. If you want to go and find more
about where you can bet, well, hard Rock Bet They've

Here o to you in South Florida, Old Dominion. In
South Florida, it's the cure Bawl happening. And these again
(02:50):
are games in which you have to kind of take
a look at. It's the staff DNA cure Balls, the
official name of this Bowl game. Both star quarterbacks have
it out of this game.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Okay, so.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
You have to take a look at this and go
who's playing quarterback and who is going to score? Because
South Florida is a team that people really liked in
the regular season, right, but they have an intriim head coach,
they've got a new quarterback. Old Dominion, you could say,
who wants to be there? Odu wants to be there
more than South Florida in terms of just intensity and
(03:25):
in terms of how they're going to do. There's a
freshman quarterback playing for ODU. There's an inexperienced guy who's
bounced around playing quarterback for South Florida. But Odu's defense
has been pretty good. In South Florida's offense, well, they
can't score this year to Old Dominion eight and four
to the under this year. UCF was seven and five
(03:49):
to the over this year, but their last two games
against UAB and against Rice, their defense played pretty well.
They only gave up twenty one points in two games
to UAB and Rice. They won both those games in
blowout fashion, forty eight to eighteen and fifty two to three.
On the flip side, the final five games in seven
(04:11):
of the last ten games for ODU went under. They
were way under against Georgia State by twenty two points
a touchdown under against Georgia State twenty and a half
under against Troy who played last night, eighteen and a
half under for Louisiana Monroe, and against Appalachian State under
by sixteen and a half. ODI used defense pretty good,
(04:37):
both quarterbacks being out.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
Like I said, what are we doing? Well?
Speaker 1 (04:40):
Of course we're betting under under play here under fifty
two and a half O TOU and South Florida for
one point one units in the Cure Bowl. I don't
think we see a lot of offense defenses rule and
the new quarterbacks do not play very well here in
this Bowl. Game Two, let's talk college basketball. So if
(05:03):
you guys remember back, I don't know a couple of well,
last year, in the year before Wednesdays, when we get
to the real you know, December, January, February. Wednesdays generally
are a weekday from a betting perspective. College basketball tends
to put their big games on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. Okay,
those are their big days. The NBA schedules Tuesday, Friday,
(05:25):
and Sunday occasionally for their big games. Monday used to
be big in college basketball, but that's since changed a
little bit, so that leaves Wednesday. You know, we have
Thursday Night football still for the last couple of weeks,
and then we get into the playoffs and it's you know,
big games on Saturday. Wildcard weekend is Saturday and Sunday.
So like we get to Wednesday and it's sort of
like the forgotten day. So I tend to look at
(05:47):
America East basketball. Did you know that Stony Brook is
eight and one ats Albany goes to stony Brook Tonight
stoning Brook, New York, Battle of New York. Okay, professionals
have driven this number down to eight and a half.
Hard Rock bet Tonight is at eight and a half.
This number opened up at ten and a half. It's
(06:08):
being driven down largely, I think because of pace of play,
because of what Stonybrook in terms of just overall what
they do from an average possession length, they are two
hundred and ninety third in average possession length. They do
not play fast at all. Albany, though stinks. Albany is
(06:29):
two eighty three in offensive adjusted efficiency. They are two
ninety seven in effective field goal percentage. They are three
twenty seventh in field goals attempted in field goals made
per game. They are three hundred and thirty fourth in
three point percentage. There's three hundred and fifty teams. They're
(06:50):
one of the worst three point shooting teams in the
entire country. They shoot at sixty one point six percent
from the foul line. That is three hundred and fifty
six the country. Okay, we're talking about like they can't
hit the broadside of a barn. Defensively, they are three
hundred and thirty fifth in adjusted efficiency on defense, they
(07:11):
are three hundred and twenty first in effective field goal percentage,
and they're three hundred and forty ninth in offensive rebound percentage.
Three point defense, they are two hundred and thirty eighth
two point percentage defense. They are three hundred and thirty eighth.
Do you catch the theme here? All Benny stinks?
Speaker 2 (07:31):
Now? Stonybrook plays slowly, but you know what they do.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
They're a top one hundred three point shooting team in
college basketball. Like again, sometimes we get into this group
thing stuff and like the pros get the pros get
real cute, and we get better numbers because of it. Now,
Kempalm has this as a ten point win. The line
opened up at ten and a half. It's been bet
down to eight and a half. Stony Brooks at home
(07:58):
they're eight and one ats, and you look at them
at home, they're four and oh against the spread. At home.
They've covered their last five. They've won four of their
last five. They beat Central Michigan by twenty three. They
beat Columbia as a dog at home by four. They
lost to Do Cane by nine, but they covered. They
(08:19):
won by three as an eleven point dog Taylor La Merrimont,
and they won against Bethune as a three and a
half point dog, winning by seven. Stony Brook is hot.
Last time out for Albany, they lost on the road
by twenty six points to Florida Atlantic. Then against Columbia
on the road, common opponent, they lost by twenty eight points.
(08:40):
Albany lost by twenty eight. Stonybrook beat them by four. Like,
why are we taking the points because Stonybrook plays slow? Okay, well, sorry,
the numbers would tell you that that's a crazy play
because Albany is horrible. They have covered three times on
the road this year. They are three and six on
(09:01):
the road. Okay, so fine. You could say they've covered
a couple of games away from home. They covered at Siena,
they lost by ten when they were catching eleven and
a half. Against Colgate on a neutral they lost by
two as seven and a half point dogs. But most
of their games they have lost badly. Marquette beat them
(09:22):
by twenty seven, U Mass beat them by twenty one.
Something called Paul Smith's College they beat them by forty nine.
Don't know who they are, but they beat Sonny Owenetta
never heard of that college, but they won by twenty
eight points.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
These are the teams that they're winning. They've got three.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
They beat sunny Dell High, whoever the hell that is.
They won by sixty three there. They won by twenty
eight against Sunny Oanetta, and they won by forty nine.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
Against Paul Smith's College.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
They've lost every other game that they played, and they've
lost them all by double digits. Okay, here are the
losses by Albany this year. Twenty seven, twenty one, nineteen
oh two, sorry, one two point loss. The one game
they've lost not by double digits Colgate on a neutral
twenty twenty eight, eleven and twenty six. This number is
(10:11):
eight and a half. I'm just gonna say thank you. Okay,
I'm just I have been wrong before, Okay, I was
on the Spurs last night. I've been wrong before. But
as a trend better, this looks pretty damn good to me.
Stonybrook minus eight and a half at home up against
Albany in America East College Basketball Action. So plays for today,
(10:34):
where are going under fifty two and a half? Pre
O Tou and South Florida in the Cure Bowl. We're
taking Stonybrook at home laying eight and a half points
up against Albany, and I will put an NBA player
prop on the Betting pros app later on today. Go
and search at Sports Talk Matt on the Betting pros app.
Download it search and you will find the play there
from me for the prop bet today here on the
(10:58):
Betting pros app. If you would like to celebrate with
me today, I welcome you to do so because today
is the four year anniversary of my other show, The
Bostonian Versus the Book. That show will begin at one
pm live on YouTube and on x at Boston Versus
the Book. It gets replayed on Sports Grid Television at
(11:19):
ten pm Pacific, and the audio podcast will come out
about an hour or an even hour. About half an
hour after the show was over, the audio podcast will populate,
so we missed the show from one to two thirty
ish Eastern time. You can then go and listen to
the audio podcast. But it's the four year anniversary of
the show. We're going to celebrate. We're going to take
some walks down memory lane. If you guys don't know,
(11:41):
my co host that I started the show with four
years ago passed away in September and so we're going
to take some time to remember him and remember the
start of the show. And you know, his name was
Dave Shearapan and he went by sportsbook, consig conzigliere, consiglieri,
whatever you want to call Dave. It was Dave to me.
(12:02):
So we'll take some time to remember where we were
in twenty twenty one when that show got rolling. I
was doing The Daily Juice, and the Daily Juice allowed
that show to exist. If I did not have the
income from the Daily Juice, there is no way I
would have been able to start BBB. In no way
we would have been able to continue doing BBB if
(12:24):
it wasn't for the Daily Juice. And it's funny because
the reason why I left for those six months was
because of the parent company that funded the start to
the Daily Juice, Sorry to BBB, required me to stop
doing the Daily Juice. I could work my contract out,
but then once my contract was over, I had to leave.
(12:45):
So I left and started Just The Picks, which was
the six month show that was similar to this. And
I am so thankful to be back and so thankful
to be here in coming back, and I was allowed
to come back, and I was offered the chance to
come back. But there's always been this really nice energy
between the Daily Juice and the Bostonian verses of the book,
and a lot of the audiences go back and forth.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
So today will be a fun day for me.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
Not just because we have the Daily Juice, but also
because we get to remember the last four years. And
I'll tell some stories, stories I haven't told before on
the air about the origins of the show, the show,
and you know where I hope the show is going
to go, So hopefully four more years after after this,
you know, after these four years. So today, one o'clock
Eastern time at Boston versus the Book.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
My name is Matt Parolt.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
You guys can follow me across all my socials at
Sports Talk Matt every morning, wherever you guys get your podcasts.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
It is The Daily Juice.
