in the world of the sports and entertainment so action packed.
You know, if you had a great Thursday, I hope
you had a charger short of Thursday. I want to
talk about Blake Snell and Yoh Savage, y Savage in
a second. Did there's a thought I have about tonight's
(02:29):
pitching matchup, But I wanted to say, you're a bigger
fan of Ben Savage. I mean, Fred, did you watch
The Wonder Years or Macho Man Randy. I always wanted
to have a Macho Man Randy Savage garden where I
just had a little garden of vegetables with little macho
(02:49):
man nomes.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
That's my goal one day, I mean, like, but also
the capture Savage Garden. Yeah, yeah, of course, and some
little Fred Savage is in there. We're gonna talk about
you Savage and Snell in a second. But you know
we talked about how every little kid has six seven turetts.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
It's like when that dance move the Floss came out
and kids couldn't stop doing they We're in control. Every
little kid's like ha ha, They had no control themselves.
It's the same thing with six seven, and it means nothing.
It's a scrilla lyric then went viral describing LaMelo ball.
He's playing like seven seven and six seven kids ran
(03:28):
with it became a viral thing. They don't know, they
can't stop. They don't know the origin. They just say,
but it means not six to seven. Yeah, it's it
means nothing. I'm guilty of leaning into it. So this morning,
I dressed up as the mascot in my kids elementary school. Oh,
I thought it was some freaky Friday bedroom antics. Oh
(03:50):
not at the school with my wife, I dressed up
in a so I dressed up as as the lion.
I'm in a big costume for my kids elementary school. Okay, it's,
you know, a Friday, they give up little awards. So
it's the school's mascot. Yeah, so I volunteer address up.
You know, I'm pumping my fist. I'm having fun with
the kids, giving high fives. All these little kids love
the mascot. I feel like you were born to be
(04:11):
a mascot. I don't know if that's an insult or
nu In a different time, I feel like you'd be
the town jester of sorts performing for King Joffrey. Yeah.
So that's why I feel like in today's world, you're
a great mascot, just like jumping around dancing with the kids,
and I have fun doing it. Why not, right, I'm
the fun dad that likes to do all these corny things.
(04:33):
But I did lean in. I saw like the third,
fourth and fifth grade as the little the older kids
in the elementary school. The minute I went up to them,
I started doing the hand thing six seven. They all
lost their little minds, and I felt so, I'm like,
I'm the idiot, I'm playing into it, but they all
start screaming in unison like six seven and six. I'm like,
(04:54):
they didn't even know what it means. They're schools throughout
the nation that have banned it from the class. Like,
you can't say that because kids can't control themselves. And
I imagine moving forward, every high school lineman, every kid
on basketball if he could, if kid's playing baseball, I'm
sure he's trying to get a number sixty seven. Stop it, exactly,
(05:14):
stop it, but stop it. If you're living that mom
or dad life, or just in society, Danny g have
you seen this at all with your your kids.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
Or no, they are a little older. Yeah, and they
so they kind of look down on it. They're like,
that's lame.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
Well, not everybody lives that life. Just say that if
you have a nose picking nephew or a little kid,
or you know some great schoolers or teenagers, they're uncontrollable.
They can't stop saying. Did you see that viral video
of that poor female sports reporter who's trying to do
a story. She's trying to do a story, She's trying
to just do her job, and these drunk or high buffoons.
(05:52):
He's like, little college kids are just behind her the
whole time, like shouting out six to seven and doing
the little thing NonStop at the top of their lungs.
Though it's wild, just insane, how that swept the Niche
so just figured I throw that out there six seven,
stop it. But let's talk some snell. Let's talk some
(06:12):
you savage. We talked about how the Blue Jays pitcher
started the year and has had like, wait, the most
miraculous year a little kid could have. When I say
little kid meaning he's a kid started the year at
single a you mean Yesavich, you said, snell I said, yes, Savage, Yeah, okay.
Start of the year at single A and progress through
(06:34):
every stage of the miners, finds himself on the Blue Jays,
pitches in the playoffs. Now he's pitching in the World Series.
We're talking about a kid that didn't make the team
out of camp, was on a bus playing single A baseball,
but just put his head down, worked hard and is
what takes a lot of minor league kids years to
just keep moving up the system. This guy started the
(06:56):
year and look at where he is now. Look at
me now, mom, starting game, so good for him? Like
that he lit up the Yankees. Man, that game was insane.
Remember he uh he pulled a Schlittler on the Yanks,
like he stepped up and dominated them. So he's pitching
at home Game one, the first World Series game in
(07:17):
Toronto in over thirty years, and he's the guy that
takes the hill. That place is gonna be electric. Buggy
Yogi Yogi. But then on the other side of things,
we talk about dominating, dominating pitching performances in the postseason.
We always love to go back to you remember with
the Giants in the two thousands, Madison Bumgardner carried that team,
(07:38):
or we love to talk about years where Randy Johnson
and Kurt Schilling carried a team, or Don Drysdale back
in the day. Right now, I don't think we're given
enough credit to Blake Snell in the postseason three and
zero zero point eighty six e RA twenty one innings pitched.
He's only walked five guys, has given up like a
run like Blake's. Now is everything Danny your Dodgers could
(08:03):
have wished in dream for. Yeah, and he fit right in.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
He was injured obviously throughout the season, so he got
healthy at the perfect time.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
It doesn't even matter that he missed the regular season.
If he's giving you this, he's earning his contract simply now.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
The one thing that he's pointed out, he said that
all throughout his baseball life, this is the best chemistry
he's ever been around or a part of. So he
loves playing with the Dodgers.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Like the Dodgers needed that. You know they're gonna Honestly,
I think they're gonna win. I'd love to see a
competitive series, but I don't think the Blue Jays are
gonna be able to handle this. The Dodgers just too good,
too healthy at the right time. Blue Jay's got their
hands full. I hate to say that, but is there
a party of the things. Well, maybe the Blue Jays
will be playing a little loose and the Dodgers, there's
(08:48):
an expectation. Hey, they fight, they're scrappy. Here's their advantage.
Here's what you're gonna witness. If you haven't paid close attention,
you're gonna see still in the mountain. You're gonna see
every Blue Jay falling off pitches, starting with andndro Kirk,
who just fouls them off until until eventually he gets
a hit. That's how great this team is. And it's
contagious with them. They just keep fouling off pitches, falling
(09:09):
off pitches, battling, battling, tough on two until they either
walk or they make some cut. They're always making contact.
That's what makes them dangerous. So you know they have
that going for him. But they always say it good
pitching stops good hitting, and the Dodgers got some pretty
good pitching all lined up tonight. Game one. Excitement in
(09:30):
the air, super pumped. I'll be watching again, Danny g.
Big time Dodgers fan Sam Spott buyer. None of us
big Dodgers or Blue Jays fans, rich Mets fan. I'm
a Yankees fan. But you don't see this hat right here?
You see this hat. Yeah, well that's l a hat
that's nice to you because he live here. He's La samarl.
Speaker 4 (09:50):
I.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
I mean he's been here ten I'm a Dodger fan.
Like if the Phillies didn't knock the Dodgers off, I'd
reach for the Dodgers.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
No, that's fair enough. I mean Sam's big sports fan.
He's been ten years. I get it. I mean my son,
Danny G. I mean he's got his uniform. He came
in full uniform. Danny, I don't know. I don't know
if he's ready to go back. I don't know if.
I don't know if I could get behind Sam with
the Dodgers hat. I'm having a hard time. I got
to Dodgers shirts.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
I got a Dodger's hat, I got a Dodger's clock,
I got a Dodger's Clayton Kershaw bobblehead.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
What more do you need? I'm with you on Matt.
He's official. I'm official, Danny G said. So my son
is five, that's around the time you start really developing
your interest in sports right here for ten years. But
I'm saying that's around the time you start deciding what
teams you like. You know, I mean, you're a little boy,
and my son he's like, call me Benny Betts.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
I'm like, Benny Betts. That breaks my Mets heart. But
Betts breaks your Mets.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
You're Benny. So my son's like, call me Benny Betts.
He's five, Can I call him? But Bennie, you're Benny
Bennie Bets. But but but Benny, Benny Betsy. You're in
your thirties. You can't just bug up a Dodgers fan.
Now I've been here for ten years.
Speaker 5 (10:58):
I don't know, did you guys remember last year I
told you that my son took an affinity to the
Dolphins because they're Dolphins, and he was at the time. Yeah, yeah,
there's like Dolphins, so that was his team. Uh munday
Eddy rooted for the Texans against my Seahawks. Had no
reason why, but he was against me. So I don't know.
(11:18):
Maybe it's something with young maybe young boys that don't
want to cheer for their dad's teams.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
There was no reason, like I like the quarterback or
the Colors, or he does like a song called Texas
by Cody Johnson Band, but that would be the only
reason why. Or maybe they just want to be their
own man. I don't know, but yes, Like you know,
my son's in that age where you remember when you
just walked around the house pretending to throw and pretending
(11:44):
to swing, like that's that's your life. Yeah, Paul O'Neil
did that too in the airfield all time. So my
son he'll pick. He knows all the team's logos. That's
like his little thing. Like he likes the Saints colors
and logo. But I'm like, buddy, that team is not good,
you know. I'm like, you don't want to you don't
want to be a Saints fan. He's like the Saints
are cool, gold like golden black. I'm like, ah, buddy,
(12:05):
I don't know. I feel for you guys.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
Thank goodness, my son's only two, so he hasn't revolted
against my favorite teams. If he does, I'm sending him
to military school. I'm not going to be I say
this kindly gives you're my one of my best bros.
I if little co was like Dad, I like the
Padres that would be the coolest thing.
Speaker 5 (12:24):
Right, He's like, I love the way Mahomes plays.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
Yeah, by Dad, I love Mahomes and Tettis Junior. That's
what I love. Dad. It's fun. Don't you dare put
that out there? Yeah? I hope not for your sake,
So get ready for it. It's going to be a
good one, yesvich Like you heard Rich said, he climbed
every rank in one year. What a year for that guy.
And now he's on the biggest stage of Wall versus Snell,
(12:48):
the Dodgers at Toronto. Gonna be a good one. I
know you can say it about every pitch and every
inning of every game in the regular season, but there's
something about postseason baseball where every mistake, every fundamentally good play,
things just they feel so amplified. I get it out obviously,
(13:08):
but if you know, if the guy you know pops
up with runners in scoring position instead of moving them.
Over the regular season, yeah, bummer. In the postseason is
so magnified when someone doesn't do their job. You know,
it also is really magnified is how what happens in
game one also plays a part of what happens in
(13:30):
game two. Like if these guys, work your bullpen, Danny
g and they're fouling off pitches and falling off pitches
and found off pitches. Yeah, that that has implications on
the next game. It's like a game of chess that
carries over to the next game because then they eliminate that,
eliminate that dude from the bullpen, and the Blue Jays
are so noticeably good at that stuff, and that they're
going to work the work the count, work the count.
(13:51):
That's the only way the Blue Jays beat the Dodgers.
If the Blue Jays get to the Dodgers bullpen, which
and just which is the Dodgers Achilles heel and now Novessia? Yeah,
no middle relief guys. Is there any update on that,
by the way, because that's a really weird story.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
There's just formers because people had been following his wife
on ig Soays expecting right the last time she posted
was like six days ago, and so people are worried
that she's having complications.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
So the story is he went back home and he's
missing the first two games because he has some deeply
personal family issues. Wishing his family the best. So yeah, well,
wishing them the best, but you can only help, but speculate.
It's like, what could be so important that he's missing
the World Series?
Speaker 6 (14:32):
Right?
Speaker 1 (14:33):
You play your whole life for that moment. It's got
to be something really serious. So yeah, pray for them
and you know, wish for the best, and I do
hope on a personal level. Look, families, first, I get
all that, especially if it's something serious like that. But
for his sake, this is his chance to play in
a world series, you know. So I know it doesn't
(14:55):
matter as much as life in the big picture, but
you would hate to miss out on some something specially
like that. True, But I think I think like that's
like such a minuscule thought in someone's mind when they
have real stuff going on, respect if it makes that
real thing worse than that, you know, when you're thinking back,
like not only did this happen? But I don't think
I missed the World I I don't think if my
(15:17):
family had a personal traumatic situation, I don't think the
World Series would be on my mind at all. Like,
who cares, it's the World Series? This is real're also
talking about that's what they identify as. I know that's
a nice righteous thing to say. Your head wouldn't be
in the right place, though. But you play your whole
life and your whole career to make it this far
and you're not even a part of it. You're gonna
say that doesn't play a factor or matter at all,
(15:38):
But of course it does. But you don't think you'd
have the right stuff. Yeah, maybe not in the moment.
In the moment, yes, you're you'd be focused on family
and whatever tragedy or whatever severity is going through right now.
But when he looks back, he's he's like, and I
missed the World Series. I'll still get a ring. He'll
still get a ring. But I like that. That's not
an easy decision, So I think it. I think it is.
(15:59):
I think as you get older, you realize like these are,
like the World Series is important, but like pales in
comparison to anything involving your wife or kid or I
imagine that's why it has to be really serious. Yeah,
that's so wishing him the best, but the only way
But if you think that's not a factor, I disagree.
The only way the Blue Jays have a chance in
this series is getting to that bullpen, and Kavino's right,
(16:21):
they take good at bats, they don't, you know, I
don't think Snell is going to have fifty five pitchers
through six innings. Like they work counts, they play good baseball,
not so much so Like I said, you know how
you say everything counts and everything matters, You're gonna see
this matter and you're gonna see this count because I'm like,
oh my god, these guys are they're they're they're what
(16:42):
what's the word discipline? No, No, they're fundamentally sound. No,
they're like they just keep coming at you. There resilience,
they don't. There's assistants. I don't know if that's the
tests rappy. No, I don't know if that's it. You
know what, when I think about it, you know, I
could you give you like seven It might be resilient,
might be resilient. This team is resilient, but it's but
it is a sense of I mean, watch tonight, We're
(17:04):
gonna be totally wrong and Snell cruises. But if they
get to Snell, if you could get Snell out of
that game pitching six innings or less, I think that's
a victory for the Blue Jays. If Snell get comes
out of there five and two thirds, the blue Jays
now get you get three plus innings of the bullpen.
That's that's how you find a way to compete. You
can't let snell Yamamoto Otani. You can't let these guys
(17:27):
go in six seven innings. It's just seven to eight
nine eight six seven. Yes, can't do it, but you
just did, you little jerk it. So hey, enjoy your
World Series Game one tonight. Yeah, and all comes down
to this series. Man, It's been a fun season. We'll
see what happens, and I do wish both teams the best.
You know, we talked earlier earlier this week. I don't
(17:49):
know who to root for. I wish they both could lose,
But now I'm just wishing everybody a great series. Eventually,
I'll be pulling for somebody, That's the truth. I'll be
not rooting, but I'll be pulling for some and I
just don't know who yet. All a fat Joe for
your Yankees? Will the Blue Jays roll out Drake and
then the Dodgers combat that with Kendrick That a rumor or?
(18:10):
Is that true? Because I've seen that just.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
It's just people speculating it would be fun. I doubt
it's gonna happen, but.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
Imagine If the Blue Jays win, that would be a
feather in Drake's hat against Kendrick Labar, Like even though
they did nothing, it would be like one cool thing
in his little category. Are we seeing Drake in a
lot of Blue Jays games? Yeah, but he's synonymous.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
Why don't we bring in one of the great comedians
from Canada who probably deserve it way more.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
There's like Mike Myers, Mike Myers, dan Aykroyd, Eugene Arry,
Jim Carrey.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
The list goes on on, Catherine O'Hara, John Candy's ashes,
John Candy hologram. Why don't we bring it something like that?
I was saying, just wants a bunch of old comics
than Drake. Sorry, Drake, the cast of SNLF before you
were born. I'd rather see Mike Myers Now.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
Tonight, World Series Game one, we're gonna get to all
the football that's going down this weekend, and a bunch more.
We're gonna play game brain waves, and I want you

On FSR live from the Fox Sports Radio Studios. Oh
you Savage Garden, You Savage Snell. Tonight, Snell again has
his hands full with the relentless lineup of the Blue Jays.
(21:27):
The relentless bro That's the word I was looking for,
the big word I was looking for, relentless. I was
like ruthless, no, scrappy, no, relentless. You're acted like the
Dodgers lineup is, uh, you know, not the best you've
ever seen. No, but I'm telling you their only chance
of winning because the Dodgers are so dominant and powerful,
their only chance is that relentless style of baseball where
(21:50):
they never give up a pitch, never give up in
that bat, and they're just falling off, foulling off, found
off until they get the pitch to hit and Boba
shed his back and we'll see how that plays into
their lineup too. So super excited about it. Game one tonight.
And I hope you had a great Thursday night. I
hope you watched something good. Vikings Chargers, Chargers looking dominant.
I hope you had a Chargers store tonight. We got
(22:11):
some NBA to talk about, We got some Joey Flacco
still talk about. What do you think of Chad Powers.
I know you finally watched I'm digging it. I like it.
I can't say I love it. I like it. I'll
come on, I love it. Do I like it? Love it?
Gotta have it. I like it, I don't love it.
Speaker 3 (22:25):
Rich Brenda said she usually likes your referrals as far
as TV shows this one.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
She said for real. Yeah, she said, Wow, it's so good.
It's Glenn Powell, it's the Manning Brothers. Thought it was cheesy,
thought the acting was bad. It's the production on Hulu
and it's fun. It's you know, it's goofy. It's fun.
I'm enjoying it so far. I'm on like episode four,
so based on that character that Eli played when he
(22:51):
put that rubber prosthetic nose on, And I know, I
think it's so stupid, Like did Brenda not like Eastbounding
Down with Kenny Powers? Yeah, I'm not sure. I don't
see the similarity other than Powers though. It's like dirty
stupid jokes mixed in with like a sort of a
heartfelt sort of storyline. Danny McBride is raw him and
(23:13):
Stevie compared to nothing like this show. I don't see
the talking. Fine dude, But anyway, we have lots to
get to on this show. Rich's TV Rich's Big TV

Speaker 1 (23:58):
Yeah, that's it. Sam, your head against the desk, relentless.
You know we're gonna go to dB for an update
a few but let me let me set something up.
Yesterday we talked briefly. We couldn't really get into a
run out of time. Joey Flacco talked about that guy
you would see at the bar eaten by himself. Sam,
(24:18):
do you have the audio of you mean me? An
hour from now? Yeah? Are you gonna watch a game

look forward to it. There's a lot of you know,

I go home or when I go get something to
eat later on, I need to decompress. I got a
teenage daughter, I got a NIX wife, I got a
young girlfriend. I enjoy my alone time. I love it.
(24:42):
I live for it. You talk to the person next
to you at the bar, small small talk sometimes matter. Yeah,
I mean, I don't want to be bothered, but yeah, sure,
I'm not opposed to it. So I watched some of
the game by myself later right after the show, Get
something Neat, and then I got to do the homecoming thing.
Today's actually for a lot of high schools around the country,
(25:04):
it's homecoming. So I have a Friday night lights game
to go to tonight here in California, and my daughter's
cheerleading for a lot of people, younger kids, Trunk or
treat weekend. Yeah, so it's a big weekend of that.
So right before I do the homecoming football game at
the high school out here, I'm gonna beating a burger
by myself. Well, Joey fleck Ill talked about hanging by
(25:25):
himself and that guy that you see sitting at the
hotel bar.
Speaker 4 (25:28):
I think there's always a challenge of sitting in a
room by yourself and being lonely. So for me, it's
trying to find ways to maybe stay over here a
little bit longer and then you know, just kind of
take myself out of that mindset. Call home, go sit
at a restaurant by myself and realize that, man, that's
pretty enjoyable to do. You know, after there's not too
(25:51):
many situations, tell you, I tell people all the time.
I mean, I used to see guys sitting at a
bar by themselves, or you know, just sitting by themselves,
eating and grabbing a little meal, and like, man, I
feel so bad for that guy. You almost want to
go join them. And now I realize, like that dude
was in heaven.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
Yeah, you know what, I saw a meme that I
agree with it. It's the the meme said, my two
favorite times are spending time with my kids and then
spending time not with my kids. You can enjoy all
the time with your kids, but everyone wants a little time.
Like Dan Bayer on the golf course, you love hanging
with your son, but you know you probably love to
(26:27):
getting away for a minute.
Speaker 5 (26:28):
Yes, and there's nothing better than a late evening just
walking out catching nine holes by yourself. Not didn't pair
you up with anybody who's out there, you and your clubs.
Speaker 1 (26:38):
But you know there's a misconception there, and I'm sure
he didn't mean it in any way, but he says,
you know, lonely, it doesn't mean you're lonely. I feel
like lonely is a feeling you have when you're feeling
down on yourself and feel bad about yourself, or you're
sad about something. Dude, I'm going to go eat a
burger later and enjoy every second of it. Like, there
are times lonely. There are times if I feel like,
(26:59):
oh this is great. If I heard or serious XM
sends you to go host something and I don't know, Minnesota.
Those are cool moments and you do your event, you
go back to the hotel and you're like, I'm gonna
sit at the hotel bar and get a cheeseburger and
a beer. That's sort of like a cool feeling. But
there are certain things that I try to avoid by myself.
Speaker 5 (27:16):
I feel that by myself, solo, alone, and lonely are
all different meanings. All are different meanings in some sort
of way, like Flacco going, it's going solo. You know,
by himself, there's nothing, you know, lonely, different different feel
I think alone, different feel, but yeah, by himself.
Speaker 1 (27:37):
Actually, I agree, it could be operating in a lot
of ways. I saw a video of this young Dodgers
fan speaking of the Dodgers, and he says he goes
to games by himself all the time because he was
sick of hearing no all the time. Yo, you want
to go to the game tonight? No, he'd go to
his girlfriend. You want to go to the game tonight. No,
He's like, you know what, so sick of playing by
everyone else's rules and clock and whatever they're down for.
(27:57):
I'm just going by myself. And he built the whole community.
He goes there by himself, has the best time. No
one bothering him, no one telling him he shouldn't have
another beer, know what I'm telling telling him that he
can't have a hot dog. He's gonna do what he
wants when he wants. Like, there's something liberating about that too, No, supervisor,
Yeah no, yeah, No one like judging you because you're
having fun at the game. I agree with what you said,
(28:18):
uh A, certain things about you try to avoid only
as a negative connotation. So I agree they're not dB
and you both said it. Yeah, I am enjoying my
time by myself, you know how much? All right, there's
a reason I'm pretty decent at guitar. You know, I'm
good at guitar. Rich because I enjoyed my alone time
and I like developed a skill. You think I was
doing it in the presence and company of other people
(28:39):
when I'm alone, I did not play guitar, but that
But my point is, like you, he developed a different
skill that we can't talk about. My point is that's
what you're You're you're using that time constructively if you're
comfortable in your own skin and you like who you are,
as John Candy said recent documentary, I like me if
you like yourself and you enjoy your own compan and
(29:00):
he is not a lonely feeling.
Speaker 3 (29:01):
You're just having a Hamburg. You're watching the game, but
we're all removed and rich. You're further into marriage than
I am. I'm three years married. How many years for
you now?
Speaker 1 (29:12):
Deck over a decade? Okay?
Speaker 3 (29:13):
When you used to have almost every meal by yourself,
it's a little, It can be a lot after a
while if you're single for a long period of time.
I'm not saying it's all bad, but it could be
fun to eat with a right partner.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
No, no one's saying that sharing a Burger and Sharon
and I is ever bad. But being with yourself isn't
necessarily bad unless you suck. Honestly, that's the truth. If
you can't watch a game at a bar by yourself,
you probably suck.
Speaker 3 (29:41):
Or if you can't go to a movie by yourself.
I always thought that was weird that people judged others.
Speaker 1 (29:46):
I've never done that, but maybe it is cool, and
I just don't know. I've never done that.
Speaker 5 (29:50):
Here's the thing with Flacco though, because Flacco is in
a new city, a different city, and he's staying at
a hotel. Yeah, right, that's where he's living at.
Speaker 1 (29:58):
The whole backstory is that this time his kids and wife,
they're in a school system there. It's not like let's
uproot the family, We're going to Cincinnati. He's decided this
is probably not long term stay put.
Speaker 5 (30:12):
Yes, and so who's gonna make dinner? Right, So he's
gonna go out, and he's gonna go out by himself
and have dinner, as opposed to somebody who may be
home alone that guess what, They go out to maybe
interact with people at that time because they don't want
to sit at home by themselves. He's doing it out
of necessity, even though if it's at four point thirty
in the afternoon. He wants to beat the rush as well.
Speaker 1 (30:34):
But I think the big thing, though, is there's a
big difference between alone time, solo missions and being lonely.
Lonely to me, insinuates like you haven't dated anyone in
a long time, you don't really have many friends, and
you sort of are sad about it. Like me, it
looks like you're kicking a rock down. But yeah, your
head's down, you know, like there's a cloud above you
and maybe alone, I'm not lonely. No one likes me
(30:58):
now good? Yeah, to me, that's lonely alone time in
solo missions, that's like you're right, you're at a business
trip by yourself, and you're like, I'm gonna go to
the coolest steakhouse of this town, sit at the bar,
order an old fashioned to have a steak and shade it.
You know how great it feels when you get your
bill and it's like you're only paying for yourself. You're like, wow,
(31:21):
that's not as expensive as it usually is when you're
paying for the whole family, or when you're paying for
your date or whatever. Like, when it's by yourself, man,
it's a great feeling. If you're in a healthy space.
I hop for your family on a Sunday morning equals
you by yourself at Mastro Steakhouse. Yeah, for sure. And
you get that on business trips, right, Rich. That's a
(31:42):
great feeling. But there are certain things where it does
feel a little weird. Like if you go to an
amusement park by yourself. I think that's a little weird.
The movie thing, I know people do it. I've never
done it. I kind of think if it's a children's movie,
that's weird. That's stress, all right, that's question.
Speaker 3 (31:57):
But otherwise you're going to watch the film, not to
talk to somebody.
Speaker 2 (32:00):
I've gone to two movies now in La I'd never
done before. I've gone to two movies in La by myself,
and I was very happy with it. If there's a
world sit, you're not talking to your friend anyway, you're
just watching the movie.
Speaker 1 (32:09):
Big Game, and you know Big Game. No one else
has the money for the ticket, or your friend can't
get off, why wouldn't you just.
Speaker 2 (32:16):
Go there and go don't go fifty of your other homies.
Speaker 1 (32:21):
Yeah, certain things, there's certain things that I don't see
any problem or issue with it. K you're so right.
If you go to a stadium to a game, you
got you got forty thousand, fifty thousand built in homies
around you. Last summer, I went to New York for
a quick like forty eight hours, and I called up
my old school pals and everyone just happened to have plans.
(32:41):
It was like a Wednesday night. It was like, dude,
I got my kids this no one was available. I
went to the Mets game, bought one ticket behind home
plate in the cushi, in the cushy seats. Because you
buy one ticket, it's sometimes it's a great deal. It
was a kushi seatsush It was like seventy bucks right
behind home plate. I sat there bhy myself, did you
have sushi? Feeling super douchey with my sushi? But yeah,
(33:09):
there are there are fun solo missions and Jamar Chase
had a response. We'll get to that after DB's update.
What's up, DBA, damn rich No.
Speaker 5 (33:17):
Brock Purty ruled out of their game against the Texans.
Jones Yeah, not necessarily a surprise, but Mac Jones will
get the start again in week eight, as Party has
been ruled out. As for Lamar Jackson, full participant in
practice today. That's good news, but the Ravens still listening
to him as questionable to face the Bears coming up
on Sunday. Tyler Huntley will be the backup in Baltimore,
(33:37):
so if Lamar can't go, Huntley will get the start
against Chicago. Panthers are listening quarterback Bryce Young is delfo
for their showdown with the Buffalo Bills. Andy Dalton in
line to start the contest. Michael pennockx Junior are questionable
for the Falcons, but he's expected to play against the Dolphins.
He said earlier this week that he'll go on Sunday.
Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown missed another practice, third of
(33:59):
the week he's been ruled out of their matchup with
the Giants. Giants today fined two hundred thousand dollars for
violating the league's concussion protocol in their Week six matchup.
Not only was the team fined, so was head coach
Brian Dable one hundred grand That was the fine he
was levied because he put his head in the blue
tent while Jackson Dart was being evaluated for a concussion.
Giants rookie running backs Cam Skeattabu fined fifteen thousand dollars
(34:22):
for popping his head into the tent during Dart's evaluation there,
bro and knew that you knew this one was coming.
NFL sent a memo to all thirty two teams outlying
their policies on gambling after yesterday's news that rocked the
NBA Dodgers. In Blue Jays tonight, game one of the
World Series. You'll see it on Fox, starting with coverage
at seven Eastern Boba. Schett, back for the Blue Jays,
(34:45):
hasn't played since early September. He bats clean up tonight
and play second base for Toronto trey Ya Savage on
the mound for the Jays. Dodgers connoring with Blake Snell. Guys,
back to you.
Speaker 6 (34:55):
Thanks David.
Speaker 1 (34:56):
You know what do you think Jackson Dart said when
he popped his head in the tent. I'm sorry when
up when Skataboo did like, yo, you chopped in the
bro Like what do you think he said that? He
what do he just happened to random? We just pop
his head in? There is there a punchline to this? No, no, no,
just trying like probably just say, you know, gave the thumbs.
Speaker 3 (35:11):
Oh you good, you'll brood how many change do I
have on?
Speaker 1 (35:15):
Bro? Probably? Good? Bro? And then they did, well let's
do you old head? But bro, So it's definitely are
you good? You're good? I think so. And Dan Bayer
for the forty nine ers fans like me out there,
I just saw Kyle Shanahan said that they may soon
open the brand and I you practice window, which is
also applicable to fantasy players like you that may just
(35:36):
have had Brandon Ayuk on their roster just sitting there.
Speaker 5 (35:39):
Or you who actually does that's that's that's the real,
the real story. This is what Shanahan said, says they're
gonna consider it week to week, whether he is uh,
they opened the window or not there now at the stage,
or they're saying it's a week to week decision.
Speaker 1 (35:53):
All right, it's gonna be my secret weapon in the
Guillotine League. All Right, we're gonna we're gonna talk Jamar Chase.
He has a response as a younger dude to the
Joe Flacco story, possible play brain Waves, weekend hob nobbin
and of course get you ready for Week eight. I
know that sounds crazy, right Week eight of the NFL.
All next right here. It's just me myself and I
(36:19):
me myself and Rich.
Speaker 3 (36:21):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (36:26):
I was alone. I was all by myself. No one
was looking. I was thinking to you Fox Sports Radio
Nation Covino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio, and it's
time for our tire I Rank Play of the Day.
Oh you got this one, buddy. HOWO how about Steph Curry?
You've seen him put on a show? Hey, Speaking of shows,
(36:46):
he put one on yesterday. He told Denver to call
time out cause he was sending the game overtime. Traymond
pops out on guard.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
It gets the ball, flipped it to Curry straight for
Curry three from half courty.
Speaker 5 (37:01):
First one person on a planet that would take that shot,
and he nailed it.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
Four time, twenty one point four ago. One person on
the planet that would make it. Kids at the playground
take it all the time because they think they're Steph Curry.
Warriors ruined Aaron Gordon's big night. He had fifty points
beat the Nuggets one thirty seven point thirty one in overtime.
Courtesy of ninety five seven the Game Warriors Radio Network.
That was our tire Rack Play of the Day and
(37:29):
for over forty years Tyrerack's been helping customers find the
right tires for how, what and where they drive, ship
fast and free back by, free road hazard protection, mobile
tire installation, all the goodies at tirack dot com the
way tire buying should be. But even though Curry had
to play of the day, props again to Gordon. A
fifty burger is what the meme says, fifty points, eight rebounds.
(37:52):
Props to him playing big So an exciting week of
NBA basketball, even though we're pumped about the World Series
Game one tonight and all the foods ball this weekend.
Speaking this weekend weekend, Hobnoben coming up next hour. What
you need to watch said, We said it yesterday. In fact,
we posted a clip on our Instagram if you missed it,
little summary of how right now we really are in
(38:13):
a great moment in sports like sports renaissance, like baseball, football, basketball,
all of those majors are clicking at the same time.
That's the key. Yeah, we've had great football seasons, we've
had some good basketball seasons. To feel like all of
them are clicking, all of them are popping at the
same time. That's what's different right now. It all seems
(38:34):
really exciting. Now to see what you're hearing. Remember we're
on YouTube right now. You can also watch over promised
our bonus podcast that debuted, Episode one fourteen debuted yesterday.
Covino and Rich FSR. If you want to see Rich
jumping out of a seat, if you want to see
Rich spinning around in his chair and excitement because it's
a glorious Friday and Rich FSSR. Now we talked about
(38:55):
Joey Flacco and solo missions. Some solo missions are great,
grand wonderful. Some are a little weird and creepy and
may appear to be you know, you said creepy. Suddenly
ask you, yeah, weird or normal for a guy to
go to an adult establishment sola, Like, if you're going
to Newdie bars by yourself, that's kind of weird. You know,
(39:18):
it means it's it's you because you have creepy You're
on a creepy mission. If you're going out to meet
women by yourself, I don't find out to be weird weird,
you know why. I feel like it's like going to
the mall with somebody. You know, a lot of times
you're not getting your you're you're you're not accomplishing what
you went there for. So if I if I'm going
out and about really to meet women, sometimes other people
(39:38):
get my waynest I you see blocking it. There is
something that we said about objective. Your analogy is great.
If you do go to the mall. Remember like back
in the day, you go to the mall. Yeah, you
show your wife or girlfriend, Hey, what do you think
it is? And she's like, I don't like that, and
then you end up going home empty handed. You go
there by yourself, you feel like you accomplish something. You
come home with bags of clothes. I did a good job.
But like an example, like a gentleman's club, if you
(40:02):
go there with your buddy's gonna be a bachelor party. Hey,
we're in Vegas. If you go by yourself, you're right there.
So you're in your instinct is saying you're a bad guy.
You know you're aware at a business trip. I get it,
I get it. I understand we've been there. That's the
guy in the corner making this sound. Flacco says, I
used to look at that guy and say, man, poor guy.
(40:22):
But now I look at him, I think he's in heaven.
Ye that guy's enjoying him. So Jamar Chase had a
response to this, take a listen. I would never go
eat by myself. I could do that at home.
Speaker 5 (40:34):
If you walked into a restaurant you saw Joe Flacco
sitting there by himself, would you join him or just.
Speaker 7 (40:39):
Be like I would tell him, Bro, we gotta go
get in the back room or something.
Speaker 1 (40:42):
You need to be in a front you know. Yeah,
I mean Jamar Chase is a young man table for
he's uh, he's not there yet. He's not there yet.
He still wants to hang with the boys. Go in
the back room, pop some bottles, order a bunch of appetizers.
Joe Flacco's at the stage in life now where you
do acknowledge that alone time, that me time is something nice.
(41:04):
Yeah it is. And your thoughts your phone calls eight
seven seven ninety nine out Fox and Everything at Covino
and Rich at Fox Sports. We'll do a quickie right
now branded in Vancouver. What's up man, Hey Brandon.
Speaker 5 (41:15):
Hey, how's it going.
Speaker 1 (41:16):
So?
Speaker 6 (41:17):
I've been a father since I was nineteen.
Speaker 1 (41:19):
I have three grown kids now, Damn.
Speaker 5 (41:22):
I have worked on the road for a long time
and going out by myself when I.
Speaker 6 (41:28):
Was out on the road was one of the best
times because it's just me.
Speaker 3 (41:31):
I didn't have to worry about anything else.
Speaker 5 (41:33):
You just enjoy yourself.
Speaker 6 (41:36):
Look, and then the other thing is when they go
out of town and you get the house to yourself
for a whole weekend or something.
Speaker 1 (41:43):
Oh, that's a beautiful feeling as well. But I think
I think we can all relate that alone time is special.
So cleen is the house when you're the only one there,
it's great, the cleanest, a great feeling. All right, Hey,
we got more CNR next right here. Fox Sports Radio
