Hey, that's us.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
Yeah, who Hey, I'm not necessarily that excited to be here.
I just realized it's Tuesday and I'm gonna get some tacos.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
Oh hell yeah, what do you want to be celebrating
with Travison Taylor?
Speaker 2 (00:40):
Not thirty seconds into.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
The show, relations guys, wishing you the very best from
your friends at CNR.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
That guy with the smooth, buttery voice is the greatest
producer in the land. He's the man, the pimp known
as Danny G. Yeah, he is the g. We got Sam,
we got Long Crown, we got you hanging out with us.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
We be rocking out. I don't know about Danny G.
According to a blimp that was flying over LA over
the weekend.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
Ice cubes of Pimp, Well that's why I use those
words like, we're gonna talk maybe if we have time.
It's the quickest two hours of the day, our favorite
two hours of the week. If we have time, we'll
talk some ice Cube. We got to show time, ma
homes trivia, we got some NFL to talk about best
promos and sports. Like I said, I don't want to
(01:27):
overpromise because we tend to do that. But that's why
we have a bonus pod called over Promised, where we
get to things that we didn't have time for. It's
on Fox Sports Radios YouTube page. It's actually on our
YouTube page right now. It's YouTube dot com slash at
Covino and rich FSR.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
At Covino and rich FSR.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
We are streaming live, but you can also get our
bonus podcast there. Episode one oh five dropped last week.
It's one of my favorite things we do. But the
big story today, Yes, of course we're getting closer and
closer to football. Yes, and yes we're getting closer to
Bay playoffs. But the biggest story today is Kelsey and
Taylor Swift are officially engaged.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
Ye and Taylor again, as the headline says, you're English
teacher and your gym teacher til the knot getting married.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
But you know what, man, hey, I am happy for them.
I mean that everybody loves a good love story. We
always see so much crap in the news. It's nice
to see two love birds having fun. But much like
everything in our culture, and that involves social media, eventually
(02:40):
they're just looking for stuff to tear this story down.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
That'll happen.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
It's gonna be a tabloid sort of nightmare eventually because
people are just trying to tear good things down all
the time. That's just the world we live in, especially
with social media. Like I said, well, I do wish
them all the best. I think it's great. I think
there's sort of a match made in heaven.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
I thought the matchmate at HEBBO was a macho man,
and Elizabeth though that was a great one too.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
But you know what, it really really proves or reminds everybody.
You got to think back to where this started, this
love story, where it all started.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
You know, he had the hots for her, like millions
and millions of other people, but he's Travis Kelcey and
you're not.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
And he was a fan of her music. I gave
him all the credit in the world for that, because
a lot of guys don't even admit that he did
the corny bracelet.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
Yeah, he was all bold and he was trying to
hand off some friendship.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
Rates tried to meet her at the show and was denied,
and then he went out on his own podcast and said, Yo,
I want to take her on a day.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
He had the bracelet, like Danny G said.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
And I think the moral of the story is this,
you got to shoot your shot because this guy, I mean,
he really was just a big dope football player and
she was an international superstar.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
He shot his shot. He's a smooth guy.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
I'm not trying to take anything away from He's got game,
he's good looking, all that. But she didn't know him,
she didn't follow football. Shot his shot, and now he's
marrying the biggest pop star in the world. And I'm
not trying to downplay Maddid. You know his accomplishments and
who he is. Because to guys like us and football
fans and Americans, we all love Travis Kelsey. We think
(04:11):
he's great, super charismatic guy. But Taylor Swift is and
I hate to say this rich, but the Michael Jackson
of our time. Not comparing her to Michael Jackson, I'm
just saying of our time right now, there's nobody bigger,
so the reminder, guys, shoot your shot, Shoot your shot.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
What's that Hamilton song? I'm not gonna miss my shot?
What did Eminem say? You only get one shot, do.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
Not miss your chance to blow This opportunity comes with
once in a lifetime yo, So.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
You gotta give him credit for that. Shoot your shot.
Speaker 3 (04:43):
Guys, whatever it is, whether it be a promotion, a
new job, a new woman, a new opportunity, go for it.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
As has the lame song, and Rocky five said, go
full root.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
No.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
I mean that is like the moral of the story.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
This guy is marrying the biggest star in the world, right, Yeah,
you know what I watched, and she adores him.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
That's the other thing I watched.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
I finally finished the Billy Joel documentary on HBO Max
last night.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
Big Billy Joel fan. I'm an East Coast guy originally.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
And we all are, but I don't like him after
like nineteen eighty one.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
That's ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
I feel like so many of his great songs were
on that Stormfront album. I even like River Dreams. You don't,
but that's corn. We only do eighties Billy Joel, I
can only do that. He likes theos like fifty Second
Street or nothing. I stopped like moving out and he's
still rock and roll to me, town Girl and all
that's eighties. I like Uptown Girl, What year is that?
That's where all eighties that? That's on the Christy Brinkley
(05:43):
but again inspired album. He's a legend and he's another
guy who shot his shot. But he was also an
international superstar who had all sorts of hot models all over.
So I bring up Billy Joel and I compare this
only because being a celebrity couple.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
What are you spying on me with your phone? Sorry?
Speaker 1 (06:02):
Man? I was, yeah, what are you doing trying to
capture some evidence on you?
Speaker 2 (06:06):
You got Mayo? What are we doing? Sam? Still using aol?
They're listening, man.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
Watching the Billy Joel documentary was a reminder that celebrity couples,
well there's fame and fortune and fortuning gloee opportunity, as
short round would say, fortuning gloe. It doesn't seem like
it's all easy and awesome. So Travis Kelsey and Taylor,
you got to give him props for making it work.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
She's traveling around the world.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
They know they have the money to accommodate this world
in life they live together, but it's not easy, as
you saw, Billy, that's Joe.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
What I thought you were going to say. I thought
you were going to say. And I hate this expression,
but this Dominican girl once told me this. She said,
your fly has to match her fly, and meaning like
you got to find your match in a lot of ways.
You also have to find like your your counterpart, no doubt,
just attract the yank to your yang. But you can't
have like two people living two completely different lifestyles. I mean,
(07:00):
you know, in different expectations.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
Christy Brinkley was an international model and Billy Joel seemed
like he was permanently on the road. There's an understanding
with maybe with Taylor and Travis, you know, not to
be all gossipy. Maybe there is a very safe light
at the end of the tunnel for them. What does
he play one? Two more years? Calls it a day?
Does his podcast with his brother makes millions?
Speaker 3 (07:23):
And that's just a few years of excitement for her
because she seems to have embraced that side of his life.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
And then that's kind of cool.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
As long as he doesn't get bored doing the podcast,
and I'm sure he'll pop up on Fox or NBC
or ABC.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Or in the podcast.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
It just made Guinness Book Records. Today, they're making ducats.
They're making butt loads of money with that. So my
point is care if he's sick of it or not,
he's got to keep that goal mind going.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
If he could keep that going with his bro and
stay busy, she's gonna keep making albums, and you know what,
good luck to them.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
We don't need to harp on it. I will say this.
The one thing that shot it doesn't matter if you
harp on it or not.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
The world is gonna harp on The one thing that
shocked me is that it's very hard to get people
to share your stuff and even to get your friends
and family to like your stuff. It's very difficult, difficult
to get support in whatever you do. You open a pizzeria,
you think everyone you know is going to go to
your pizzeria, and they You get support from strangers, strangers
(08:22):
and people you never expect. I saw a really sad
clip that said your best support comes from strangers, and
your most hate comes from the people you know.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
It's really weird. I mean we've experienced that.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
I mean, aside from our family, how many people close
friends of yours actually listen to the show.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
No, because you're a dope to them.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
Yeah, all the support weekend, the people we met just randomly,
the people you met along the way, friends, like people
you would consider close to you. Oh, Kavino, I've never
really checked out your show. Thousands of strangers though. Yeah,
they're always telling me about someone else's show. So you
realize I'm on Fox Sports, right, I'll be feeling in
for Dan Patrick on Monday.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
Yeah. No, no, that's no.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
They want to tell me about someone else, some Jabbroni
Jones podcast. I don't care about Gibroni Jones podcast. Your
buddy here, we went to high school. How about you
check me out? I sent you the link. Did you
follow it?
Speaker 4 (09:12):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (09:12):
Yeah, yeah, will Yeah, we're on the hundreds of affiliates
with like potentially millions of listeners.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
Yeah yeah, not for me.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
You're my friend. So I'm just saying support's hard to get.
I bring that up because would you believe six point
five million people.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
Have already shared this Taylor Swift.
Speaker 1 (09:34):
Post like imagine this is a stranger that you may
just like her music. Six and a half million people
shared it on their timeline four hundred and fifty to
five hundred thousand by now have reposted it. That's wild,
Like I even myer people, but can you imagine sharing
and reposting millions of people are really happy? They must
(09:57):
love them.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
But again, for all those six seven million people really
pumped about it, like.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
Oh my yeah, this is like a real life Disney movie.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
Right, It's like.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
Women, we know that story, but there's the mind of
people waiting for that moment where one of these people
slip and they're ready to do. There's women I know
that posted on their Instagram story this and they wrote
like dead with like a skull emotion. I'm like really,
like you're dude, like you're that excited, Like, oh my god.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
Women were screaming.
Speaker 5 (10:25):
We both know Macy Banks from the Highway on Serious eccent.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
I saw her go live to make the announcement and
she was like shaking in the studio.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (10:33):
And then one of the girls from the office like
walk to Travis Kelce candle into the studio and lit
it and the they were jumping up and down giddy.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
It was crazy. Well, you know, you got to remind.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Yourself, I don't want to be the grumpy pants in
the studio.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
No.
Speaker 3 (10:47):
In fact, I'm wearing mine and it's really hot out.
That's why I'm grumpy.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
You put aside your Travis Matthews for grumpy pants, and
I don't want to be negative nor birth say it,
so I could give you my pointrumpiness. And I'm not
wishing anyone anything but the best. To be honest, I'm
very happy for this story and their love story in
their life. I really think they've match. But I really
don't give a deadly squat about the story.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
And that's what's odd like to see people react the
way you're saying, like shaking to talk about it.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
My goodness, man, you know how I feel about it.
Speaker 6 (11:20):
Get a life, hey, Covin, that's how I feel about
I actually have some audio from you from earlier in
the day after you found out.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
Oh yeah, that's here.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
I really don't but I do wish them well. I
think you like them both, and it's a nice story.
But man, man, I don't really I don't really care
that much.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
I don't care. I don't. I mean, didn't we expect
that anyway? That's a big deal, you know? Is there
a surprise to this hold on you got it.
Speaker 5 (11:47):
I'll be more impressed when they pop out a kid.
That's when the real challenges begin.
Speaker 4 (11:51):
Can I raise a question? Oh hi, Isaac h Who
would you get that excited about, whether it be in
the sports realm or otherwise.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
Isaac, you read my mind. That's what you and I
oddly connected right now. You guys getting engaged IA while
you're backing out of the room. No, Isaac, you took
the words right out of my mouth meat love style.
I was just gonna say, Caveno. We got to remember
that men and women like and care about different things
the same way. I would be so fired up if, like,
(12:21):
I'll tell you what I'm fired up about. The Mets
are calling up a rookie pitcher, and my buddy's on
our thread, or like.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
Your tongue's coming up. They're calling up the the Japanese rookie.
They're excited about that the way women are about Taylor Swift.
When Anthony Volpi hits a home run.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
If it makes me wear his shirt, the next one,
we're excited about Cam Schlittler start for the Yankees d
last week. Who Cam Schlittler. This guy is the real deal.
I said, Schlittler Can. It's an interesting name. He's got
some real major league pedigree.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
He's that number, solid number three guy, maybe number two
that the Yankees are looking for, And honestly, what's better
than a nice, solid number two. I hope he's a
solid number two for our bests purpose, but I really
don't care. And I'm not trying to downplay the story,
because nothing I say can downplay the magnitude and magntheity
of the amount of shares and retweets we're talking about
(13:15):
and how everyone's talking about it. I'm just not surprised
by it. Wish him the best.
Speaker 3 (13:19):
I did see our boy, what's that divorce lawyer, Jimmy
James Sexton?
Speaker 2 (13:23):
What was his name, James Stexton. I like that guy.
He's a really great dude.
Speaker 3 (13:26):
I saw that he was hanging out with our buddy
KFC or KFC reposted it, I don't know, but we
used to interview this guy and his whole thing was look,
I wish him the best, and they're a great couple.
But if I were Taylor Swift and she's worth billions
and she's got her catalog of music, she's been in
failed relationships before, things are great now, but life changes,
(13:47):
people change.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
Prenup, pre nup, pre nup, pre nup. You said Jimmy McGill. No,
not Jimmy McGill.
Speaker 1 (13:54):
I slipping Jimmy slipping Jimmy Sexton, which is a he's
a good guy. He's he's like a divorce lawyer who
actually said that he'd give free prenups to all NFL
draft picks.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
In twenty twenty five. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:08):
Yeah, he's a funny dude, but he's a good dick.
You get him on the show if you want to
talk about tomorrow. But you know, Cavino, I knew we'd
find where we want to go with this because it's
just such a big headline, and you and.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
I were first and first most see everybody's talking about it.
Before the show, you and I were trying to figure out, like,
I mean, you can't ignore the biggest pop star on
the world and one of the biggest faces of the
NFL not at all tie in the you know, announcing
their engagement. No, no, no, like And when I say,
I just want to make this clearer that like, I
don't care that much. I'm not trying to be rude
(14:37):
and I'm not trying to say we shouldn't be talking
about it.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
It's the biggest story. I acknowledge that it's something we
have to bring in. Men and women care about different
things the same way. I go my timeline, and women
I'm friends with are like, OMG, posting pictures of tailor.
That's the equivalent of no joke of you wearing last
week an Anthony Volpi T shirt to work the day
after he hit a home run. Like, you can't make
it sound like that's cool just because you're a guy.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
I'm just trying to show it's the same thing. But
what do you think they're doing by.
Speaker 5 (15:04):
R course, Well, think about it when their girlfriends get
engaged that this is how they react to that. And
so this is that on steroids.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
Bro, you did you see the video me when the
Mets when Lindor hit a home run last year against
a Phillies in the playoffs. I was here at Fox
the video I posted. You would have thought, who is
this maniac? So to say we don't get excited about sports?
Have you ever seen me watch a forty nine ers game?
Speaker 2 (15:27):
That's close. That's true. I get it.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
We we root for sports in a childlike way. We
get really excited. And that's women for Taylor.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
Shift, I know.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
So that's why I'm saying, you always have to keep
it a perspective love, And I'm not hating no.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
Love.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
Love is my love is one of my All you
need is love. Love is a many splendor things. Yeah, love,
we'll find the way.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
Look what you've done to me. Love is a battlefield. Love.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
All you need is alright. My friend Nicole, who I
do my parenting podcast with, have kids. I say, yeah,
but you talk about smut the whole week.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
That is true. We talk more parenting on our show
than you do.
Speaker 1 (16:04):
Today's her birthday and she reposted the Tailor Swift story
and she's like, what a great birthday present.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
I had to hit her up and be like, are
you serious? Maybe I also like to just join the
party in the bandwagon, I know.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
But the same way she said what a birthday present
and reposted Tailor, I got to remind myself my birthday
is October seventh. I went to the Mets playoff game
on my birthday and I was like, what a birthday.
So again, it's really just what you care about. So
give him, lady some grace today, because you know.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
It is what it is. I'm not.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
Man at anybody the same way you would post junk
Carlo walk off and.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
Be all pumped. That's a woman being like, did you
see the Kardashians did whatever?
Speaker 1 (16:47):
You know, we care about different things. But I thought
you brought up a great point. So let's let's move
to this. I did oddly you did. Wow, We're gonna
get to a lot of NFL today. Even saw on
Aaron Rodgers headline that I want to get to and
I know you, Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 5 (17:01):
You're gonna go from Taylor Swift to Aaron Rodgers trying
to kill me today.
Speaker 2 (17:05):
These are Danny's.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
We're gonna talk about Lebron James next, and then Lebron Danny,
and then I'm gonna talk about Now I'm gonna talk
about the AFC West and how they're all better than
the Raiders. No, but Aaron Rodgers, this might be something
I'd rather hear that my favorites.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
You're extra hyped up about this though. I could hear
it in your voice.
Speaker 5 (17:21):
Yeah, I picture you skipping in your living room this
morning when you found out the news.
Speaker 3 (17:25):
You could pretend like, Yeah, women are pumped about this,
like I could hear in your voice and just the
like the voice, the level of your voice.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
I just feel like it's, uh, you got extra energy.
You're super pumped. I have extra energy because we didn't.
This was the only thing we did today to do
a podcast. I can't tell yeah, but it is extra.
I look at it like this will provide content. We
live in a content world every morning when I wake up,
the same as Covino and Danny and all producers and
host we look for things to talk about. So when
the biggest star in the world gets engaged, you're like, oh,
(17:53):
what's the angle? And it was hard to find one
for this because you're like, oh, yeah, you could go
with the typical who cares?
Speaker 2 (18:00):
Do you care?
Speaker 1 (18:01):
I don't want to talk about that. I like Cavino's.
Do you think at this level they have to get
a prenup?
Speaker 2 (18:09):
We won't preing up. We won't preing up.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
Hey, he signed a big NFL contract, even a bigger
podcast contract. But then again, she's a billionaire with a bee,
she's got a team, and she's got lawyers. I think
it would be in everybody and her team's best interest
if that was automatic hydramatic be because he's a guy
that could serve. He's done very well on his own.
(18:32):
He doesn't need to be dipping into her billions.
Speaker 3 (18:35):
That's an understood thing, and I think people always love
to say, well, you just jinxing the relationship.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
No, it's just protecting.
Speaker 3 (18:42):
Like sometimes the inevitable sixty percent of marriages. I think
it's that like close to sixty now and in divorce
or some sort of or some sort of swinging situation,
so you know, you gotta protect yourself, so he protect
your neck.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
Here's my thought. At their level without each other, they
are not just fine. They are extraordinarily fine. We're talking
about a billionaire and a guy with probably hundreds of millions. Right.
Speaker 3 (19:11):
If you that said, would you, I'd be like, yeah, sure, if.
Speaker 2 (19:16):
I'm Travis Kelcey. Yes.
Speaker 1 (19:17):
My question though, is do they even discuss it. Maybe
that's something where it's like, hey, my agent lawyer is
going to talk to yours. Let them handle it. And
maybe it's as simple, whatever you came in with, you
leave with, and we split properties and assets. They are
both or ridiculously well.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
Think about this, like, hey, whatever we build together moving forward,
you know.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
That sort of thing, and you leave with what you
came in with, right, that's all I do.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
Wish them the best, but I also have to play
the side of honest and what I think a lot
of guys listening to this probably are thinking, however, your
wives and girlfriends are super pumped about it, So like
Rich said, give them, It's more like, just understand. You
get pretty pumped about I don't know, WrestleMania, or you know,
(20:08):
your football team made a sweet draft pick, your baseball
team is in a playoff run.
Speaker 2 (20:12):
You get just excited. This is their super Bowl. This
is there.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
If you post on your TikTok, Instagram or Facebook page
about your fantasy football team, or John Cena when he
turned heel, or you know the Laker women, you know
their eyes were rolling in the back.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
Of their head.
Speaker 1 (20:30):
The Lakers got Luca Danny g if he was a woman,
would have posted on Instagram.
Speaker 2 (20:34):
OMG, you know this is that for them? I think that.
Speaker 5 (20:39):
I mean, that's what we do react differently though, because
I didn't run to social media and post anything. We
were in Vegas, remember late that nights, like everybody was
talking about it. But do we run and have to
publicly address it.
Speaker 6 (20:53):
People will go like for an NFL schedule release, and
I don't even get that amptmy I think about.
Speaker 1 (20:59):
It normally amped about that, you know, me in schedule watching.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
You know, I don't know which loves to look at
the schedule, game schedule, watch it.
Speaker 1 (21:10):
I already looked at the twenty twenty six baseball schedule today.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
Remember how I said I blame everything, all my ailments
on COVID not getting older just like COVID. Yeah, I
feel like excitement levels are just not the same either
after COVID. You got I used to be so pumped
about you know, baseball playoffs and everything.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
After COVIDEH what does it all mean anyway? Reach my dopamine?
So guys, some of the life.
Speaker 3 (21:33):
Yeah, if you think like life feels a little more bland,
probably COVID y's I.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
Mean, five how many years? Five years later?
Speaker 5 (21:39):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (21:39):
Yeah, you know, I think when you think about it,
has life really ever been the same? Think about it?
Think about it, think about it. Well, listen, coming up,
we're gonna get to a lot of fun. Danny G's
super pumped because Aaron Rodgers, we're going to touch on that,
your favorite guy.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
I'd rather talk super Bowl prediction.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
You know there is a list of where your team
ranks in the Super Bowl pop stabilities. We're going to
get to that next an NFL on Fox list. We'll
talk some NFL, but you know what, I want to
dissect real quickly something Aaron Rodgers said, I'll give you
the quote and we'll talk about it maybe a little bit.
Where did this come from? He said, you saw this,
saw this all right? Let me let me hear this.
(22:16):
Things are way easier when expectations are low. Do you
buy into that or or do you have an expectation?
I was thinking today, you brought up Anthony Volpi.
Speaker 3 (22:26):
They passed on so many they meeting the Yankees, passed
on you know, Corey Seeger, so many major possible opportunities
to fill that spot, and they passed on everything because
they hyped up Anthony Volpi for so many years to
be the next coming of Derek Jeter, the next superstar
in the league. And I think when the expectations are
(22:48):
so high, it's very hard to ever meet them, let
alone exceed them.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
I think I think cam Ward is the luckiest dude
in town.
Speaker 1 (23:00):
About Caleb Williams, so many people saying that if he
doesn't do it, this year.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
It's like he's got to do it this year. He's
got to make an impact this year. There's when expectations
are high like that.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
I don't know, man, you even just ignored me when
I said, cam Ward point proven no one can cam
Ward like no one cares about. They're talking about a
third string quarterback in Cleveland and quarterbacks from last year
and Aaron Rodgers, and cam Ward's thinking I could have
what a rookie season should look like and no one's
gonna be bothering me in Tennessee. So we'll talk about expectations.
(23:35):
We'll talk about NFL A lot coming up next right here,
your buds covin On rich On a very special Taylor.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
And Travis tuesdation.
Speaker 3 (23:43):

Speaker 1 (25:37):
A song that has played at every wedding since it
came out, and we'll probably play it Taylor.
Speaker 2 (25:42):
And Travis's wedding, Crazy in Love. I hope I get invited.
That'd be cool.
Speaker 3 (25:48):
Cavino and Rich live from the Fox Sports Radio Studio.
I can't wait to do the worm. Yeah to this
song across the dance floor. But I don't Congo Rich
Sandy Cavino doesn't join the congol the second I hear
Buster Poindexter. I'm in the bathroom checking my hair.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
That's a lot of things you don't do. Yeah, it's
sort of a stick in the mud. I don't Jenga.
I don't play Giant Jenga. Yeah, if you're at a
bar and there's like big Jenga. I don't play board games.
Once you bust them out, I go home. Once Rich
wants to show YouTube videos at a party, I'm like,
all right, I'm out. I don't sit around for that else.
Speaker 2 (26:18):
Else. But you never say goodbye to people, you just leave.
Speaker 4 (26:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (26:21):
Yeah, I don't need like a grand like goodbye, a
big send off, but happy to be here. I do
love being here, hanging out with you guys again. Favorite
two hours of the day. Nobody bothered me. Covino and
Rich on Fox Sports Radio Live from the Fox Sports
Radio Studios. And please, if you like our show, you
want to watch it live? Hey share this. Six over
(26:42):
six million people shared the Kelsey wedding announcement.
Speaker 1 (26:45):
Just share our stupid link. It's free and subscribe. I'd
settle for thousands. Six point five million people don't need
to share this. If ten people did it, I'd be
pumped again. At Covino and Rich FSR on YouTube. At
Covino and Rich FSR, we're streaming live. Aurdeos are there?
Our bonus podcast is there again? YouTube dot com slash
at Covino and Rich FSR. So the big news today
(27:08):
Kelsey and Swift engaged. Rich pointed out the amount of
people that get excited and love to share the news
about people they really don't know. We also made the
correlation that, well, people get excited about this the same
way you get excited about your teammate in the playoffs position.
Speaker 2 (27:24):
I thought about it.
Speaker 1 (27:24):
I guess I just saw a lot of women are
doing reaction videos, and while we could make fun and
be like, oh my god, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey,
who cares. If you had a reaction video of me
when the Mets signed Juan Soto, you probably would have
been like, well.
Speaker 2 (27:40):
Look at that guy.
Speaker 3 (27:40):
Well, I got one more observation. Before we get through
the phone calls and give away prizes, Show Time, ma
Homes Trivia. You should have seen NFL Rich wants to
Talk Aaron Rodgers. You should have saw the New York
New York in Vegas gets. That's where we were when
Luca got traded to the Lakers. Every guy was to
look at his phone, you know, chat it up.
Speaker 2 (28:01):
So again, it just.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
Really matter of what you're interested. I saw Danny g
chess bump somebody. He was so pumped, jumped in the air,
chess bump.
Speaker 5 (28:08):
But it has to do with a game that we're
excited to then watch him play for a different team,
and we are not attached to Taylor Swift in the
same way, like we're not getting like you said, or
what Coveno was alluding to he's not going to be
at her wedding.
Speaker 2 (28:24):
So it's true some of this is imaginary.
Speaker 3 (28:27):
Another observation, this only really happens to celebrities, but it
does happen to people on a smaller level. I'm seeing
so many different headlines about the announcement. Right, Kelsey and
Swift are engaged. We see the imagery and the images.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
But I see a lot of like dopey pictures of
Travis Kelse Like the main TMZ one is when he's
wearing that stupid bucket hat. Right, so remember that like goofy,
dopey looking guccin and it almost looks like he has
makeup on him.
Speaker 3 (28:51):
Yeah, he has like a green and red like dopey
looking bucket hat. And he imagine that was shared like
over and over again, like a picture you were in
a fan of was just shared millions and millions of
times for your big announcement. Kind of hate that something
I noticed, But anyway, it's like, gout my Abe Lincoln theory?
Speaker 2 (29:08):
Was your Abe Lincoln theory? I used to slave vampires?
Speaker 1 (29:13):
Yeah that besides that, what if he really wasn't into
the top hat that much? But in the few you know,
photos and paintings and drawings like he had the top hat,
so we now were like late Blincoln.
Speaker 3 (29:24):
Kelsey wore that dopey bucket at one time. We all
saw it because it was I don't know, is that
some big event. There was a lot of a Lincoln
without a beer everywhere today. He'll be remembered for this
for the rest of his life. So your phone calls,
congratulations again, Kelsey and Swift wish him the best. But
it's amazing to see the amount of coverage and how
excited people are about this. We're not hating on it
(29:47):
by any means. I think Kelsey's cool, I think Swift
is sweet. I think they're a great couple. Let's go
to the phone calls and just wrap it up. Travison,
sokel what's up, Trav?
Speaker 4 (29:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (29:59):
See, I think you're more excited about the weekend guy's
Pompadoor than you are about Tailor's engagement.
Speaker 1 (30:05):
Dude, have you seen Moneyline, Monocos Pompadoor?
Speaker 2 (30:08):
You love this guy?
Speaker 3 (30:09):
Yeah, he's on weekends, You're on Fox Sports. It's something
to marvel at. It's just incredible, you know what I am?
Speaker 1 (30:14):
Actually I see that and I'm like, man, I did
a slow clap when I saw it on social media.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
That photo should get shared six and a half million times.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
Those are hair goalso come up, you know, before we
get into NFL Super Bowl stuff and the tier rankings
and Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
Let me ask you what what would provide.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
Excitement for you? Your grown ass man and a grown
ass man. What would get you excited the way a
lot of women are posting reaction videos Like I just
saw a woman, a broadcaster, she was behind a news
desk during a commercial and they filmed her and she
has her phone. It's like, oh my god, oh my,
oh my god, and she's like flipping out at this.
Maybe it's the same I said. The only thing I
(30:54):
can think of is when your player, your team acquires
a big player in all your buddies text at the
same time.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
That how about hitting the lottery?
Speaker 3 (31:03):
You know, things like that, something a lot of expected,
Like this is very expected to me and maybe a
little sooner than I expected, but still not surprised.
Speaker 6 (31:12):
Like been dating like eighteen months, right, yeah, but.
Speaker 2 (31:14):
It's like like soon.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
It feels a little soon, but it's a major love
story and you gotta you gotta give, you want to
strike when it's hot.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
I'll give you one.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
Yeah, Like the Mets just announced that Alvarez the injury
isn't as severe as they may have thought, So Francisco
Alvarez will be back soon. When Aaron Judge had that
health scare and there was a thought like, oh, maybe
he's out the whole year his elbow. Yeah, when you
got that alert where it's like Aaron Judge like the
MRIs and everything came back, fine, what you have to
(31:43):
you know, for me, you probably gave a little it's
case by case, but it would be something unexpected, Like
I said, this is not surprising to me, something unexpected,
like if producer Spot came walking in, who's been uh
with his wife for like fifteen years, and all of
a sudden, I know where he's like, guys, what we're
having a baby? No way?
Speaker 3 (32:02):
Yeah, dude, that's unexpected, right, Like, so unexpected good news
would get me that excited. This is very expected good news.
When I was say I've got a haircut, I was pretty.
Speaker 2 (32:11):
Excited about that. Shocking, stunning, shocking.
Speaker 5 (32:14):
Yes, I thought I would never say this on our show.
But can we move on to Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
Yeah, let's do it.
Speaker 1 (32:19):
Yes, yes, all right, well can we get Danny care
isolate that?
Speaker 2 (32:24):
You know what, Let's go to Ilo first.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
I'll gather my Aaron Rodgers thoughts and we'll discuss what's up? Uh?
Speaker 2 (32:30):
I love? Well, what's up?
Speaker 4 (32:32):
Travis Kelsey has placed the franchise tag on Taylor Sweat.
He asked the Chiefs tied end and the music superstar
announcing their engagement today on Instagram with the caption your
English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.
Speaker 2 (32:47):
I love. I have two other quick thoughts.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
Do you think the podcast like a week ago is
almost a soft launch and the fact that everyone received
it so well was like they're almost go ahead to like,
all right, let's let's do it. And do you think
the Chiefs put the picture of her and Travis in
their hall of honor knowing they'd get engaged? Because I
don't think you do that? Who thinks of these questions
if they're not getting stakes?
Speaker 4 (33:11):
No, if you've cracked at Sherlock.
Speaker 1 (33:13):
Like Danny, they posted a picture of Taylor Swift in
the in the Chiefs Hall of Honor? Do they do
that if they don't have the feeling they're going to
get engaged.
Speaker 2 (33:22):
I think it was more than a feeling. Come on,
I think they knew no more.
Speaker 4 (33:26):
And then, in fact, some horticulturalists are probably going to
analyze the the foliage in the background of that garden
shot and determined that that was that they proposal actually
happened two months ago and they were just planning the
soft launch ever since then.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
See that's very savvy of you, But we'll think about it.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
I'm trying to be like that weird little conspiracy to
be like that.
Speaker 2 (33:47):
I'm trying to be like that.
Speaker 1 (33:48):
You said that girl on social media that deduced that
Taylor Swift will be the halftime show because she said
it took her she thinks about sourdough sixty percent of
the time in the like sourdough San Francisco, sourdough sam
Super Bowls in San Francisco sixty So I.
Speaker 4 (34:04):
Mean I would sit there for and you next to
the Kennedy assassination. It's been long enough anyway. Elsewhere, we
go to well what was previously Miss Swift's specialty breakups,
because it's roster cut down day in the NFL, the
New York Giants, What too soon? The New York Giants
are releasing quarterback Tommy DeVito. The Washington command here, so yes,
(34:25):
I know what was that other sound.
Speaker 2 (34:30):
Disappointed?
Speaker 1 (34:31):
He went to Stilettos outside of Giants Stadium for a
little well.
Speaker 2 (34:35):
Place.
Speaker 3 (34:36):
He had a good sendoff though he put up some
big numbers in his last appearance, and all the botch
of g loops that we grew up with on the
East Coast were like Oveno.
Speaker 1 (34:45):
College, and he got a good send off. Will he
be picked up as the.
Speaker 4 (34:51):
Watching so stilettos, you say anyway? The Washington Commanders wave
quarterback Sam Hartman, The Carolina Panthers release receiver Hunter renfro
Seahawks releasing receiver Marquez Valdez, Scantling Brown's releasing receiver Deontay Johnson,
Packers releasing receiver Mcole Hartman. That Orland Saints name Spencer
Ratler their starting quarterback. Rookie Tyler Schuck will be the backup.
(35:13):
Saints also released running back Clyde Edwards z Laire and
moved Taysom Hill to the physically unable to perform list,
and NFL media reports the Los Angeles Chargers moving running
back Najee Harris from the non football injury list of
the active roster. It was Harris, who had missed the
entire preseason and training camp after suffering an eye injury
in a fourth of July fireworks mishap.
Speaker 1 (35:34):
Back to you guys, guy that caught a game winning
touchdown in the Super Bowl, Cut McCole, Hartman, Right, he
caught up. He caught a game winning overtime touchdown in
the Super Bowl. Grand nobody grand closing.
Speaker 2 (35:47):
He's cut.
Speaker 1 (35:47):
And for the forty nine er fans like me, t
O Sun got cut, Tari Collens.
Speaker 4 (35:52):
But you'll always have that touchdown reception in the last
preseason game.
Speaker 2 (35:56):
Exactly. Thank you. Ilo.
Speaker 1 (35:57):
We're gonna talk to some Aaron Rodgers, and you know
what I do, want to talk some Tommy Cutlett's next
right here, Covin on Rich on Fox Sports Radio. No,
I don't know if you guys know, I do a
great Al Bundy impression. Ready, A fat woman came into
the shop stir today, pig. Oh my god, I thought
(36:20):
that was Ed O'Neil. No, Ed O'Neil's not here, everybody. Wow, Hey,
Kevin and Rich love and marriage. Patrick Mahomes is going
to be on our show next down.
Speaker 2 (36:28):
He'll be here.
Speaker 1 (36:29):
Soon. Maybe we should do a ed O'Neil trivia. I
wanted to bring up a few things as we do
it live Rich.
Speaker 6 (36:35):
That was a carbon copy of the line you did
in a promo doing the ed O'Neil, because that's what
every time I think, that's the only line.
Speaker 1 (36:41):
You have four touchdowns one game? Well, did you ever
see these called a chicken next door?
Speaker 3 (36:48):
Did you ever see the clip though of Al Bundy
when he's playing the outfield. There's a parody of another movie.
I forget what movie it is.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
I know the baseball episode of Yeah, that was great.
Speaker 1 (36:55):
He's in the outfield. They're like, is that is that
Al Bundy?
Speaker 2 (36:59):
Who's good?
Speaker 3 (37:00):
Four touchdowns in one game? And it's like he's a legend. Anyway,
that's not the play. Well, we got to do the
play of the day.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
And if it's not Al Bundy, it's gotta be the
big dumper Cal Raleigh.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
Why not making it even fifty?
Speaker 8 (37:14):
The three to two other way to Cal swinging a
well hit ball deep the left field, head into the
upper deck, State Fair upper deck. Goodbye Baseball number fifty
for cal Raley. He becomes one of only thirty three
members of the fifty Long Run Club and the Magical
(37:36):
Season just tissues for cal Raley.
Speaker 2 (37:40):
Holy smokes, what a shot.
Speaker 3 (37:43):
As an Aaron Judge fan, I rolled my eyes, but
I give him a slow clap two at the same time. Well,
Danny's happy because beating up on the Padre is put
your Dodgers back in first place.
Speaker 2 (37:52):
Yeah, I was loving that.
Speaker 1 (37:52):
That's the tiract play of the day. Props to cal Raley.
Mariners went on to beat the Padres nine to six
as courtesy of Mariners Read Network and again thanks agetting
to tire Rack. For over forty years, Tyrack's been helping
customers find the right tires for how, what and where
they drive shit fast and free back by free road
hazard protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation
(38:14):
tire rack dot Com.
Speaker 3 (38:15):
The a tire buying should be. You mentioned Al Bundy
and how he roamed the outfield in that weird episode.
Speaker 2 (38:21):
It was actually an eight man out.
Speaker 3 (38:23):
Remember eight men out were like, is that shoeless Joe
Jackson And people weren't sure if it was shoeless Joe
Jackson just like playing. That's what they were doing with
Al Bundy in that weird episode. Look it up as
funny as hell.
Speaker 1 (38:36):
One of the best TV shows of our lifetime. Married
to a Children, it's one of And I saw a clip.
It's funny you bring that up. I saw a random
clip today. I was taking a flight back to Los Angeles.
I saw Bud Bundy talking about how it was like
the number one rated show amongst prisoners for some reason. Yeah,
he was very proud of them. Yeah, cause it was
(38:57):
like it was a dangerous comedy. It was like it
was very cutting edge and edgy at the time, so
it appealed to that type of edgy guy geez or criminal.
I don't know if that's a I don't know if
that's a category you want to. Bud Bundy brought up
two shows, he said, I don't know, like Murder, she wrote,
I was like the Cops or whatever. I don't know,
(39:18):
and Married with Children were the two highest rated amongst
criminals basically. So anyway, thank you guys, Props to Al Bundy,
thank you for being here. As Covino and Rich Steve
Covino and Rich Davis, and you brought up Aaron Rodgers
sort of at a left field because you saw no
because you saw some quote that he said about expectations. Yeah,
I want to get to that, but I really want
(39:39):
to focus on Tommy DeVito real quick first, because don't.
Speaker 2 (39:41):
Think you have focus on anything.
Speaker 1 (39:44):
That's what I think Tommy DeVito, I think you don't
want to focus period. Tommy DeVito is a guy that
he's done. Was the quarterback for the New York Giants.
As you know, I want, I do wonder like there's
an analogy that's a weird one, but we could think
(40:05):
of others where something only works under a certain set
of circumstances. There was a radio DJ in New York
when we lived on the East Coast. Let's say his
name is Gumba Johnny. I mean, let's say his name
is Yeah, but like he's a guy.
Speaker 2 (40:25):
Or there's another guy Brooklyn's own, Joe Causey.
Speaker 1 (40:28):
There were guys that were on the radio New York
that I wondered, could they really ever be on the
radio anywhere else?
Speaker 3 (40:35):
And were appealing to their audience in a different time,
you know, they weren't playing that national game that it
turned into.
Speaker 2 (40:43):
They were trying to appeal to their people.
Speaker 1 (40:44):
So you could be the number one You could be
the number one guy in your city, or market, but
you realize you want to translate other places. I feel
that way about Tommy DeVito. I feel like it was perfect.
It was Tommy Cutlet's Italian East Coast Jersey, New York.
Could Tommy Cutlets go to Indianapolis or Jacksonville or somewhere.
Speaker 2 (41:02):
Else, he's gonna have a much shorter leash. But I
just feel like.
Speaker 1 (41:04):
The fan base there would there wouldn't be the embracing
of it.
Speaker 2 (41:07):
They don't even get the Cutlets reference.
Speaker 1 (41:10):
So with that said, I almost feel like it's New
Yorker bus for Cutlets. Your thoughts. We'll talk to Aaron
Rodgers as well. Coming up hang time
