it live, that old classic.
Speaker 4 (02:26):
Yeah, let me find it here? Where do I put that?
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Where'd you put that?
Speaker 4 (02:29):
Uh? Well, you just just start screaming it rich? Here are.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
I say that?
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Because today's Bill O'Reilly's birthday coincidentally? Ah, so Bill O'Reilly
with the classic.
Speaker 4 (02:38):
We'll do it live.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
We are live, and uh let's let the wild rompist start.
We're talking a little of everything. Basically, we'll do it.
We'll do it live. That was that was an amazing
Uh when he did do it live, he was great.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
We'll play you out with What did they play that with?
I think it was sting? Stinging? Play us out, play
us out? How end the show? But how does a.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Guy here can I give you two examples that baffle me?
How does a guy who broadcasts for a living and
has taken his career that far not understand we'll play
you out with sting?
Speaker 5 (03:13):
I think you stressed out and he just your brain
isn't freaking right and you're like, I don't know what
that means.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
And have you heard this story? Did you hear the
big revelation out of ra all this Chapman had. Do
you guys know the story or all this Chatman keeps
his body in check?
Speaker 1 (03:25):
He's ultra fit? What is he?
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Thirty seven years old? But he's super fit and in
shape and he's having a career year. And I believe
the Red Sox just offered him a two or.
Speaker 4 (03:32):
Three year deal.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Chap he owns the Yankees. I love that. Couldn't do
crap for the Yankees. They should have pulled the tarp
out for that dude because he was sweating bullets every
time he was on the mound.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
Sucked for the ak chef. Couldn't do crap.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
But did you hear the story?
Speaker 2 (03:46):
It's like, come on, a guy who built his life
and career in the world of pitching had the most
obvious revelation. There must be like it must be lost
in translation because here's what they're saying, and it makes
no sense. They're saying that he had like an aha
moment where someone said to him, like, hey, you ever
think about going inside outside when it comes to your
(04:09):
fastball and placing your pitches like instead of just throwing
heat like placing your pitches, and apparently the story goes
or all this chatman was like.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
I could be here.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
Nobody ever said that unbelievable, And all of a sudden
it clicked and now he's going inside out, he's throwing,
he's saying before he's sayingly, he was like a little
leaguer who just threw hard.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
And that's it.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
Look up the story. You're gonna be like, there's there
must be something missing here. There is a joke, But
that's the story everybody's telling. Like he just realized to
go inside outside and and you know, hit the plate
in different spots. Sometimes it takes you a minute to
figure it out. I just saw last night, how do
you not know that Fortune's you're living on Wheel of Fortune?
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Which who watches our boomers? Our parents are Wheel Fortune
and Jeopardy.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Last night apparently there was a Wheel of Fortune clip
where Vana White finally realized the way that the wheel
has that this thing sound like is the big rubber
bands on the wheel. And she's like, oh, I never
thought about it. I never thought about it. I've been
working on that ChIL since nineteen eighty. What's up?
Speaker 1 (05:12):
Dan Byer Good morning, Good afternoon. Hey guys.
Speaker 6 (05:14):
You know I've talked about I went to the Oasis
concert this past weekend and there's this clip that has
been circulating about Noel Gallagher and he talked about how
in the nineteen nineties, at the peak of their their stardom,
fan and whatever you want to say, they were playing
concerts to you know, stadiums, and his pedal board he
just had it all cranked to ten. And they were asked,
(05:36):
they were like, why do you do that? He goes, well,
because they go to ten. He just that's what they dot.
You just put it so like they're making all these
hit songs and hit albums and he didn't even know
his pedal board worked.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
Oh my god. Yeah, and that's baffling to me. Yeah,
you build your career in this. You would think, you know,
the obvious Bill O'Reilly, Noel Gallagher overall this chapman and
never dawned on him to throw inside outside, Like isn't
that a pitching is That's the problem pitching today, Just
a bunch of flame throwers gassing it up to one
hundred and eight miles proudly that's where last they last
three innings, So that's the story.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
We're sticking to it. We have lots to get to
today and.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
We can't fake the funk Rich and I wear our
emotions on our sleeve. Definitely a weird vibe in the
air today. We're gonna do our best to do the
fun show we always do. But you know, really horrible
stories in the past few days. Can't ignore that. Well,
you're just scrolling on social media and it's hard to
avoid the Charlie Kirk story. Who was killed earlier today?
(06:31):
Whoa the video? It's officially he passed away? Are you serious?
And the video I don't recommend you look at it.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
It's horrific.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
And then they released further video of the poor Ukrainian
girl that got stabbed on the bus.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
So it's like every feel like you're did I say
a buzz on a train?
Speaker 4 (06:48):
Charlotte?
Speaker 2 (06:49):
You uh? You know you're scrolling to try to find
light stories about the Buffalo Mills and the Yankees, and
like every other scroll is like.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
An awful video.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
What I was gonna say is, well, first off, awful, awful,
and God bless everybody because I feel sad for humanity.
That's why my heart hurts and I'm serious. I'm like
not an emotional guy. When it comes to being a
sensitive guy. I guess I could be angry and passionate.
I'm an emotional dude, Ryan Clark angry. No, not like that.
(07:19):
But I gotta tell you, man, these stories are hitting
me and I don't like them. I have a teenage daughter.
I just feel bad for the youth and how they
view life and the quality of life, and and I
just feel bad that kids today have to grow up
seeing this stuff. And it's not the first time or
the last, unfortunately, but political violence should never be a thing,
regardless of your views, and this should not be the way.
(07:42):
And the reason I bring that up is because I
want you to appreciate the things that bring us together,
like sports and another one for me music. Nothing better
than being at a concert, being at a ballgame and
seeing all those differences go away because we have a
common goal here and as to how fun sing along
watch our team win.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
And that's the beauty of what we do. This is
the escape.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
And I just want to honestly put the emphasis on well,
you know, prayers to the family and the horrible.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
News, but.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
Kids, why sports is really so great and important in
our lives because we need that escape.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
Otherwise you just drown in misery. These stories are horrible.
Speaker 4 (08:24):
I don't forget really quick, rich I was just gonna
mention tomorrow, September eleventh, exactly, and yeah, and think back
to how sports helped heal.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
Dude, I totally sports brought us back to normal.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
We were in Manhattan that day, and you know, I
was a New Yorker in New Yorker at heart still
and Mike Piazza hitting that home run that was it
oddly meant more than you would ever imagine.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
For that city.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
It was our first step to normal again, or trying
to get back to normal again. So to not think
that sports is part of the healing process, and sports
is part of the process that brings people together. Like
you said, music, sports commonalities like or when life is
tough period personally, you hate that escape you need sometimes
and hopefully we can provide some of that. But we
can't lie and sit here and say like that story
(09:11):
today doesn't hurt our hearts and make us feel terrible.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
We felt horrible.
Speaker 7 (09:15):
You know.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
You also think you think, like, all right, now, what's
the retaliation possibilities? And like, do we live in a
world where it's just going to be political differences, have
people killing each other back and forth.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
It just I didn't even know that dude died.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
If you don't know what we're talking about, you're coming
home from work, you're not on social media. Charlie Kirk
very controversial, dude, very very popular. You know, he's the
guy that you'ld see always on TikTok or Instagram debating
college students. Was shot on a Utah campus today and
the video's horrific. I haven't seen it, don't look at it.
I haven't seen the close up. I saw those nar
(09:45):
one and that was and that was enough. I'm promising
you do not And again, like I said in the
last twenty four hours, the Ukrainian girl on the on
the train, that the fact that they release more video
and you're like, oh, oh no, I don't I want
to see this.
Speaker 4 (10:00):
And it's sad to see the family photos of Kirk
on social media right now, or it's.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
His heartbreak visual that and Danny both stories, while not related,
they are just two reminders of like, oh, what are
we doing?
Speaker 1 (10:11):
Where's let's not be that.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
And remember you don't have to agree with the guy.
And if you do, that's fine, but you don't have
to agree with the guy. That's not how people handle things.
And kids have to people have to have a greater
respect for life. And again, I just feel sad for humanity,
Like everything about that video, about everything that's happened in
the past forty eight hours, everything about that trained video,
(10:35):
like the scared look on that girl's face, that's horrible,
the people there that really didn't do anything to help,
and just the apathy, and just everything about that and
everything about today.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
I think we do need to talk about.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
Sensitized our people to not even try to help that
young girl or to do what they did today to
that poor young man. When you think about it, let's
say you don't like this guy or his views or whatever,
he's still a thirty three year old man, thirty one,
thirty one, oh my god, thirty one year old, three kids.
You know, just a horrible story, man, horrible, horrible story.
So my point again isn't to lean into the misery.
(11:10):
It's to just remind you again how important sports and
again I bring it to music rich, how important those
things are to bringing us back to something fun and normal,
to take our minds off of that stuff. Yeah, so
I'm good you brought it up, because only because there
is like an underlying vibe even in the hallways here,
(11:31):
an underlying weird vibe, like, Yo, today's a weird day, right,
Like I guess surreal video that we've all been subject
to a terrible, unnecessary death, like I said, And Mike
brings up a good point, Mike, little differences, your sports differences,
your music differences. Imagine like what we handle our differences
that way? What are we doing?
Speaker 1 (11:49):
Not the way?
Speaker 2 (11:50):
And it's not that things are worse, Maybe they are,
but things like this have always happened. It's just we're
exposed to it in a much different way. Yeah, you know,
a much different way. And that affects us all this
much different way, you know, Vietnam political differences. Then it
just we live in a world now where because everyone's
got a camera on them at all times, they have
(12:11):
a video camera.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
At all moments.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
Yeah, we see and hear every the same way. We
all consider sports the same way. We know everything that's
going on in the world of sports. Now you see
all these horrible things all the time. It's a lot
to take in, you said, tomorrow, being the sad anniversary
of nine to eleven. I've said to you before that
I'm almost I almost feel like it was, thank God,
a good thing that technology wasn't where it was in
(12:36):
one because imagine all the horrific stuff. It's already horrific,
Think of all the more horrific stuff you would have
seen had cameras been on phones in two thousand and one,
had you been able to say if every phone had
a video camera and it just so, Hey, just keeping
it real and we'll get into sports again.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
This that is the escape, right, Yeah, I too.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
I do want to talk about the Buffalo Bills and
the mythst failing look like little leaguers and time into it.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
Let's get into it. Where do you want to start.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
Fans and fan etiquette kind of ties in, right, because
people are out of control, it does, Yeah, it ties in.
It's like passion levels are a little off. Something's a
little off. Karen ball Snatcher was the big store Karen
ball Snatcher. You know, that's more of a fun story
when you think about it. And no, let's go back
to that. Let's set about Karen ball Snatcher.
Speaker 4 (13:23):
The Texans fan who got her face beat in.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
That's the one that's just horrific too. Honestly, it ties
in because I'm like, what is going on? People need
to chill. There's something called fan etiquette. I think we
all need to practice that or just etiquette in life period.
How about some class from the East Coast rich class.
I've seen some New York Boston or New York Philly
(13:47):
battles with fans where it's like.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Yo, you're a bunch of grown ups. What are you
fighting and throwing punches?
Speaker 2 (13:51):
But you know, Danny, I've seen it equally bad out
here with Giants and Dodgers fans and Niners fans and
Raiders fans, like.
Speaker 4 (13:59):
You know, people got to cowboys, fans.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
We have to control themselves.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
I think that is that less than one of the day,
Like let's all get a freaking grip and control of ourselves.
People are on edge. I guess, I don't know, And
maybe this all ties together.
Speaker 4 (14:12):
You know, Well, in California we have a lot of
different fan bases and passions run high at all the games.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
So we call this h this first little segment of
the day, Like, fans, what are we doing? Like like three,
I think you need to work out the title of
this discussion.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
I think so too. But fans, what are we doing?
In parentheses? What are we doing? What are we doing?
What are we doing? What are we doing?
Speaker 2 (14:36):
It's this terrible, terrible story between the Texans and the Rams. Yeah,
and it's the fans. It's the fans, and you see
them get into a brawl. It's gone viral. It's wild
to see. And what's really gross about it? I thought
we were all told to like not like get into
it with women in this way. You don't put your
hands on a woman ever, but especially at a football
(14:58):
game where people are filming and watch.
Speaker 4 (15:00):
We've seen this. Kids are there and are often now
the past few years at sporting events.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
What's going on with that? Because let's just say it
happened to you, if it happened to me. Let's say
a woman steps up to me, she doesn't like my face.
Let's say I was just cheering for the opposing team.
You remove your filth from the situation. I pull up
Polli Walnuts, and what I mean by that, I don't
whack her. I put my hands on like, hey, okay,
imagine Paulie Walnuts or Silvo, Silvio Silvia, what's the name
(15:27):
spot Sylvia Silvia.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
Hey, who put your hands up? Like, hey, sorry, remove yourself, Hey.
Speaker 2 (15:33):
Back off. It's not worth it. It's not worth it, right,
But if.
Speaker 4 (15:36):
She winds up missing next week, you don't know anything
about it.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
Yeah, that's that's what Pauli Wonnuts would do. I just
throw my hands up, Hey sorry, walk away. In this clip,
you see Rams fans beating on a woman, and vice versa.
You see a Texans fan a woman with a bloody nose.
And I've watched his clip back and forth. I'm like,
is that because a dude hit her in the face.
Dudes are throwing punches. It's like that needs to stop.
(16:04):
A couple of weeks ago, in a preseason game, remember
there were two guys squared up and a guy got
his pants pulled down.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
He was getting beat on, Like oh yeah yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
And not only that, rich, it's one of those like
upper tier sort of brawls where it looks like anyone
could anyone over, like Reggie Jackson a naked gun, the
fat woman and naked gun, the fello Nfela on the queen.
Yeah exactly. We don't need that housing flying. It looks
like they could go falling off the edge.
Speaker 4 (16:26):
Of the top of the ball there at so far
you don't want to be fighting up there, you know how,
drop me.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
That's our first lesson. If you get into a tussle
at a stadium, get away from the uh the ledge.
That looks horrific to me. So they're brawling there, and
I can't sound like a hypocrite. I love watching a
good fight, you know, it's like watching a train wreck,
like you want to watch.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
But it doesn't mean like I think that these are
not po.
Speaker 4 (16:53):
Not a fight with a woman involved with men.
Speaker 2 (16:56):
But yeah, it's horrific. You guys have to see what
we're talking about here. Danny, you're the first person who
sent me this, though I don't know how I missed it.
Speaker 4 (17:03):
Yeah, there's new angles of it that came out today,
which is why it's back all over social media again.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
Another another fan story, and Cavino, you have been guilty
of this at times.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
Can't say I have it either.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
But Josh Allen calling out the Buffalo Bill's fan base
saying like, hey, guys, have a little more faith when
we're down in a game. So fans are fighting, fans
are not sticking by their team. And then Matt Lafour
getting mad saying, hey, Packers fans, why are you selling
your tickets?
Speaker 4 (17:32):
Other fans season ticket holders? What's up? And as a
Raiders fan, this has been going on obviously in Las
Vegas since they opened Allegiance, because fans can make their
money back by selling a couple of key games and
when you have a lot of Lions fans willing to
pay top dollars for those seats, this is what happens.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
Okay, So it's a bigger conversation based on the terrible news.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
And I just saw Richie right.
Speaker 2 (17:57):
TMZ confirmed that Charlie Kirk passed away at thirty one one.
We need to be better overall, okay, everybody both signs regardless,
we need to be better in sports. There's also fan etiquette. Yeah,
where are we slipping in sports? The Brawl's gotta stop
punching a woman. This woman's face is it looks like
(18:20):
she's in a UFC fight and she just got kicked
in a face.
Speaker 1 (18:22):
She's wearing a JJ Watchers.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
He even responded on Twitter and he's like, yo, what's
going on here again?
Speaker 1 (18:28):
There's right, Dannyg's right.
Speaker 2 (18:29):
New angles of the Wild Brawl have been released Texans
rams fans going crazy. That needs to stop. We need
to put the phones down. That's part of the problem, right,
put the phones down and stop this where your first
instinct is to, hey, let me get this and put
it on the gram.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
This will be great for my ig story.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
I know it's fun to get lots of likes, but
we really need to put it down, Like, hey, maybe we.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
Should break this up. So we just said a good
O good name for this conversation be what are we doing? Fans?
I mean, what are we doing?
Speaker 4 (19:01):
What are you doing?
Speaker 1 (19:01):
What are we doing? What are you doing?
Speaker 2 (19:02):
So? And like I said, like you said, Dan Rich,
fan etiquette, leaving early because your team is down.
Speaker 1 (19:10):
Josh Allen's absolutely right. Don't leave early. Have some faith
in the team not over you. Don't punch anyone in
the face, don't leave early.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
And don't tell you and don't sell your tickets to
the opposing team in a rivalry. Yeah, you know what's
best to just I know this might be tough for
people on a budget, like give the tickets away, give
them away that the average ticket price. Yeah I know,
I know, but you know, mortgage no good. It feels
to make a little kids while the streams come true.
(19:38):
But you kid, what are you doing? I'm not I'm
not Willy woncom. We realized we do have the right
to sell your tickets.
Speaker 5 (19:43):
You don't have the right to fight somebody and cause
them bodily harmed.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
Speaking of Willy Walker, did you see that meme that
uh ball snatching Karen took?
Speaker 1 (19:50):
Will I've got a Charlie's ticket.
Speaker 4 (19:56):
There's a meme where she's stealing on frisbee from air Bud.
Speaker 1 (19:59):
I sorry that me. I love it. You know what
we need? You know what we need Karen ball snatcher
right now?
Speaker 2 (20:04):
Perhaps she parent ball stature brought levity where yeah, she's
a common enemy that we all could get behind, not even.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
It's mine, Karen ball snatch.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
So based on well, again, overall we need to be
better as people.
Speaker 1 (20:18):
Where do we need to be better as fans? Leaving early?
Punching a woman in the face. How about don't punch
anybody at the game?
Speaker 4 (20:26):
Rich has no problem leaving early.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
Yeah, you know what, I'm guilty of that, but I'm
gonna be get that one. You might not agree with.
Ret I got one that you No, no, no, I got no,
I got you. I also have one. Okay, great, you
want to know what irks me?
Speaker 1 (20:40):
Let me start. What are we doing here? What are
we doing here? What are we doing here?
Speaker 2 (20:43):
It's the name of the conversation label that this happens
at restaurants where they're watching sports. Put that on the
atube page. Across the page, what are we doing here?
This happens at the game. And it only was brought
to my attention when I became a dad. I have
a teenage daughter now, but when she was really little,
(21:04):
I noticed this to be bothersome to me as a
young dad. It's when people are letting the booze flow,
and that's part of it.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
And I get it.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
And they got their beer helmet on. They're all excited
to be at the game, but they're just dropping f
bombs in vulgarity, like like they're sailors. It's like, I
get it. You're with the bros, you're chest bumping, you're
here having fun. But there are families around. So I'm
not saying don't have fun. I'm not not even saying
don't be belligerent and like and brow it up, but
like you gotta sound like a like a like a
(21:35):
trash bag. It's when both around a family friendly at
this dude, honestly and rich, this is something we preach.
I don't behave that way, so I don't expect other
grown people to be behaving that way, especially around kids
and families. So that's a problem. I got, Let's be better,
especially when there's kids around. If there's no kids around
(21:56):
and you know this, and your section is like, yeah,
we're just going crazy. Is the adult section or something,
think go a out. I don't care. Are we coming
up with how to be better fan rules? Because I
got I thought of so many more. I mean, welcome
to the show. Let's say I'm here. I'm here, I'm
trying to figure out.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
How to be better? What are we doing here fan etiquette?
I feel like we're slipping. Can I give you? Can
I give you a quickie? I have?
Speaker 2 (22:18):
I have by far the best one, Sam, I know
you got. Mine was the best radio. Mine's the best,
the best of all, the best, the best example.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
I believe mine was better. I have.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
I have the bag, Oh volley, I have the best
reason why fans need to be better.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
I'll tell you that coming up.
Speaker 2 (22:37):
But I do want to say, if you're at a concert,
this might This might be controversial if you're at a
concert or game, okay, and the whole section has agreed
that we're not standing. Don't be the one person in
the front that's standing during like the ballad, the fifth
song of the show. Have a self awareness about you
to know that there's someone behind you that might not
be standing. Stand up with two strikes on the batter
(23:00):
during a jam. You stand up during the big songs,
but when the ballad's being played and it's the middle
of the fifth inning, sit your assja down in front,
down in frontday today, and don't wear a big hat either.
All right, we got more covene on Rich. Where are
fans going wrong? We'll break that down. We'll try to
keep it light. We will give away some prizes. We'll
(23:22):
do a little midweek major. We'll play Mike's words of wisdom.
All coming up right here on Fox Sports Radio with
Cavino and Rich. Hey you're Rich, yo, buddy, Football's back, bro,
And you already know where you'll find me on Sundays.
Speaker 1 (23:37):
Probably on your couch.
Speaker 2 (23:38):
I know your AC's broken, so you could come over
my place because I got multiple TVs.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
I got the TCL screen about it and he's got
air conditioning. The picture is unreal.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
Listen, Football's back, and I always talk about how football
needs to be the perfect viewing experience. You got a
weakss TV, You're not coming to my house. I'm not
going to your.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
House, is what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (23:57):
Tcl's QD Mini led makes every play pop. The brightness,
the smooth motion, it feels like you're right on the field.
And here's the kicker. TCL is the official TV partner
of the NFL.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
Football has never looked better. Thank you TCL.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
The brightness, like you said, the experience right now, they're
making it even sweeter. You could score up to fifty
percent off select models. The perfect time to go snaging
new TV. Football's here you need to I'm telling I'm
a big advocate of multiple TV, so this is where
this comes in handy. Yeah, and by the way, if
you are wondering why people don't want to come over
your house, maybe you need a TCL. Bigger screens, sharper details,

Speaker 1 (24:59):
There you go.
Speaker 2 (25:04):
Hey, Fox Sports Radio Nation, thanks for getting through this
day with us. Covino and Rich live from the Fox
Sports Radio Studio. Remember if you miss any of today's show,
search Covino and Rich, CoV i and know Covino and.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
Rich wherever you get your podcasts.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
And after the show, the Best of goes up and
every Saturday Best of the Week at six am on
the East. But follow rate and review five stars because
anything less is uncivilized. Covino and Rich Live from the
Fox Sports Radio Studio. I'm Steve Covino, that is Rich,
Dicky Davis. Well, what are we doing. That's that's where
(25:40):
we're going. As far as a fan behavior. We saw
that woman in the JJ WAT jersey. Dude, it's a
bloody face. Like I don't want to sound like a cornball,
but if that was your kid or your sister, you
don't mean like, oh my god, boy face, that's.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
Horrific, dude.
Speaker 2 (25:57):
It looked like she was in a major ball because
he was at a sporting event. Why because they disagreed
on a third down player. They were lame old guys
throwing punches at women.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
Need better.
Speaker 2 (26:12):
So on a day where I think, and I think
we all agree, regardless of political sides, we should all
be better.
Speaker 1 (26:18):
Yeah, the really terrible day.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
How are we better or how could we be better
and improve our etiquette? At a sporting event, we talked
about Josh Allen towing fans have a little faith, don't
leave so early. Matt Lafleur encouraging packers, fans, don't sell
your tickets. I threw a watch your mouth. I threw
a watch your mouth out posing fans. They watch your mouth, don't.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
You don't.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
There's kids around. Men don't have too much of a
punt mouth. There's kids next to you.
Speaker 4 (26:45):
I got one.
Speaker 2 (26:46):
You said you had the best one. Yeah, I think
it will be trying to downplay it now. It's the best,
the best one, and it's I can never understand negativity
from your own fan base. If you have a player
that's struggling, booing them does no good right now? For instance, Yeah,
it's counterproductive. Right, I'm a Mets fan.
Speaker 1 (27:05):
The Mets are you know, clinging on by a string today.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
Wait, you used to boo Conforto though, yeah, you call
them confarto.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
But I would never go I would never go there
and be like boo. I would just come on, let's go,
Come on, buddy.
Speaker 4 (27:20):
Aren't there certain players on your own team though, have
punchable faces and you just wish they were off the squad?
Speaker 2 (27:25):
Are you talking about Devin Williams? Because That's what I'm
thinking about, because I listen. Of course there's times where
I'm like, cart there card, but I'm up boo, I'm
not booing a guy on my team, especially when you're
in the middle of a wild card race, a penet
race like Cavino. How counterproductive when the Mets start a
homestand in a day or so, well, when they're when
(27:46):
they're clinging on to a one or two game lead
over the Giants. Would you think it's productive to boot?
Speaker 1 (27:51):
It's not.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
You're eliminating you're actual a home field advantage if your
nemo being a city field should be a sense of comfort.
If you're Anthony Volpi and you're horrible, well he's doing
all right, you see his girlfriend? Oh well, yeah, he's
doing okay.
Speaker 7 (28:07):
There.
Speaker 2 (28:07):
I don't feel that bad for him, but I heard
people saying they felt bad for Volpi. I just saw
picture in the New York Post where it's like Vulpy
with his model girlfriend at an event. Yeah, smoke can
so Yeah, I'm not feeling bad for him personally. But
if you're booed everywhere else, you want to at least
know that you're not going to get booed at home.
(28:28):
So you're taking away that home field advantage. It's very counterproductive.
Speaker 4 (28:32):
I think.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
I don't think you need to cheer him on as
he stinks it up, but booing him doesn't help.
Speaker 1 (28:37):
Don't you team ioa, Sam, you said you had a doozy.
Speaker 5 (28:41):
If you wager own sports and you lose your bet
and you're very mad about it, don't get on social
media or find this person in real life and harass
them because you didn't win your bet because they didn't
perform a certain way. Those people are pathetic losers.
Speaker 2 (28:55):
Don't hate on Chris Paul because he didn't hit your
assist total for the day on your you know prop bet.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
By the way, I think Sam's is better than yours.
Speaker 2 (29:01):
Don't get out of here. Yeah, Sam, that's a new agent.
You're gonna harass he can hit the over thirty. Yeah,
you're the biggest loser if you're taking your stupid gambling
problems out on that guy yelling at or yellow at
Saquon Barkley because he stopped at the one yard line.
Speaker 5 (29:16):
He's at an autograph signing at the mall, and you
decide to show up and be like, oh, a thousand
dollars because you didn't get two more yards during that game.
And it's like, dude, sorry, that's gambling for you.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
I'm with you, man, that's pathetic. So how could we
be better fans?
Speaker 1 (29:29):
You like that one bit of the month?
Speaker 2 (29:30):
They're all actually, they're all really good, and I think
we're sometimes guilty of some of those things. But it's
a reminder that we could all be a little better
ass fans based on some of the stories that we've
seen in the past few days. Now, go to a
game and I don't act like an adult, don't don't
be punching strangers. So sorry, embarrassing. It is embarrassing. And when
you see this woman bleeding all over the place, you're like, what,
(29:52):
like you said.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
Rich, what is going on?
Speaker 2 (29:54):
And you know, I'm all for like good back and
forth rivalry and yelling and cheering, but but legitimately taunting
someone and getting in their face because they can you
just give somebody a Reggie a fan of another team,
like imagine a Rod. This is my worst case scenario
because I've seen these people get their ass kicked, and
I get it, but it's like, no one should get
(30:14):
their ass kicked. I've seen people go into an opposing stadium. Right,
Let's say a Giants fan goes to Dodger Stadium. The
Giants are winning, so he's just pointing around taunting everyone.
He's a lone wolf. Yeah, he's the Giant fan. He's
taunting everyone. I've seen this at City Field. I'm like,
you know this, Philly fans, what are they doing? They're
gonna get their ass kicked. They're they're taunting all these
Mets fans.
Speaker 1 (30:32):
What are you doing? It's just acid on behavior. Dan Byer.
Speaker 6 (30:38):
There was a recent clip from a Michigan State football game.
It may have been from this past weekend, but a
kid stood up in the stands and had a Michigan
shirt on and was taunting the Michigan State fans. I
saw that, and then two police officers came up and
said like sit down, like and and then you know,
all the fans are like, yeah, how it was, but
(30:58):
like get away, Like can the kid wear the shirt?
Speaker 4 (31:01):
Sure?
Speaker 6 (31:02):
Should he be taunting and trying to be that to
other fans because that could cause other things. Yeah, Like
I actually kind of feel like security in a way,
like you could cheer for your team and obviously Michigan
wasn't even playing in the game, but for them to
like step in. Danny, you saw the clip too, Like
I like, I was like, oh, I hate Michigan, so
I'm probably biased, but I'm like, yeah, go good job job.
Speaker 1 (31:23):
Yeah, you know it's interesting. Are you going undercover? Dan Bayer?
Did you see what your Seahawks are doing?
Speaker 4 (31:28):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (31:28):
Yeah, this is done by other teams as well Seahawks.
Speaker 4 (31:31):
The Seawks correct me if I'm wrong.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
They're they're having law enforcement or security go undercover wearing
jerseys of the opposing team to try to it's police officers, oh,
police officers, to try to suss out the the you know,
the jerks in the crowd.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
Essentially.
Speaker 6 (31:47):
I saw that, and there would have to be a
lot of cops because there are a lot of forty
nine er fans getting under the Seahawks fans skin used
to be a home field advantage. There were a lot
of Niner fans there on Sunday, Yeah, for that game.
Speaker 2 (31:58):
So Fox Sports Radio Nation, we turn it over to
you next eight seven, seven ninety nine. Fox. Are there
other ways we could be better fans? Things that get
under your skin when it comes to sports mistakes you
have made and see other people make him at the
game or just when they come over. Yeah, you know,
like not throwing in twenty bucks for a pay per view.
Speaker 1 (32:19):
What do you think this is?
Speaker 4 (32:21):
What do you think?
Speaker 1 (32:21):
It's free?
Speaker 2 (32:22):
It's free, man, cheap skate. Hey, let's go to dB
for an update. And speaking of my Niners, yeah, buyer.
Is there an updated on uh Brock?
Speaker 6 (32:30):
There is there? There is Kyle Shanahan using this term
long shot.
Speaker 1 (32:37):
No, no, see, I didn't hear that. I was.
Speaker 2 (32:38):
I was listening to Fox Sports Radio earlier and I
heard it wasn't a long shot.
Speaker 1 (32:43):
Kyle Shanahan has said it's a long shot. Oh, a
long shot, Okay, A long shot? No, okay, Sorry, yeah dude,
I needed that. Thank you, Doug Gottlieb taking it a
different way. Hey, you Doug.
Speaker 6 (32:56):
I was gonna say if we all have had does,
but I don't know if we have. I'm not sure
if we have long shots.
Speaker 1 (33:03):
Like me and Perty have the same issue.
Speaker 6 (33:07):
Doug said something different earlier today. What's not a laughing
matter for the forty nine ers is this could be
a multi week injury. He's not going to practice today.
Mac Jones is going to get the first team reps
and would be in line to start against the Saints
in Week two. Toe and left shoulder injury for Party,
who again is a long shot to play after that
win against the Seahawks.
Speaker 2 (33:28):
Long long, long shot, shot, long shot, you know, funny clip.
But that sucks for you, Rich Sex for the forty
nine ers, but it's early, and it's early, the schedule's light,
and I think if you're going to talk about quality backups,
I mean again now I'm just being optimistic. But Kyle
Shanahan and John Lynch said they're very happy with what
(33:50):
they've seen from Mac Jones, a backup.
Speaker 1 (33:52):
You gotta remember remember the draft where Rock Party was
taking as mister irrelevant. I guess who was taken Towards
the beginning of the first round. A guy named Mac Jones.
Speaker 6 (34:00):
So the other part about this is that funky schedule,
which is why they put George Kittle on injured reserve
because in Week five They've got that Thursday night game
against the Rams, so it would be tough for him
to play weeks four and five on a short week.
With Kittle not playing in week two, you might as
just put him on IR. Hasn't gone that far with
Purdy as of yet, but again, week two is in
(34:22):
question for the Niner signal caller. Falcons wide receiver Drake
London is expected to play against the Vikings on Sunday night.
His head coach Raheem Morris says he expects the wide
receiver to go despite being limited in practice today because
of a shoulder injury. Free agent safety Jabrill Peppers signing
with the Steelers following a costly fumble in Week one.
Jets are letting go of kick returner Xavier Gibson. Packers
gave wide receiver Christian Watson a one year extension, so
(34:45):
he's now under contract through twenty twenty six. Rangers beat
the Brewers today six to three. Texas sweeps that three
game series. They're now just a game back of the
Mariners for the final wild card in the American League.
Both those teams keep on winning, as do the Red Sox.
They're on a three game streak but right now trailing
the A's four to three in the eighth inning and
Sacramento while the Twins and Angels are tied up at
(35:07):
three apiece. And Rich, I know you've got your eye
on the Bay in San Francisco, Diamondbacks leading the Giants
right now five to nothing in the seventeen need that
back to you, guys.
Speaker 1 (35:16):
Thank you, Dan. You know the secret to why the
Red Sox are winning, right?
Speaker 2 (35:20):
That?
Speaker 1 (35:20):
Are all this Chapman finally figured out? Inside out? Yeah,
I've heard that. I've heard that's pretty amazing.
Speaker 2 (35:25):
And uh, Danny, I'm not only relying on the Arizona
Diamondbacks to handle the Giants, but as a Mets fan
clinging onto that third wildcard. The Giants and Dodgers play
seven times in the final seventeen games.
Speaker 4 (35:37):
Dodgers need five of those.
Speaker 2 (35:38):
Can you take five of them for me? Can you
step it up? Dodgers? You want the two seed, right,
you don't want to you don't want to play in
the wildcard round, So win, win, win, Dodgers. All right,
we got more Cavino and Rich next right here Fox
Sports Radio. People are being pushed to the edge. Try
(36:00):
not to lose our heads. Covino and Rich on Fox
Sports Radio. We got DJ Sammy Sweetheart on the ones
and Tues we'll talk about with Sam. And we got
the best producer in all the land on the phones. Hey,
Danny G And you could see Danny G. You could
see Sam, you can see Bayer, see all of us,
Spotty who has Midweek Major coming up in a few minutes.
(36:21):
On our YouTube page. There's a TV show. It's no
longer just a radio show. It's to see in our experience. Guys,
be part of it on the new YouTube channel. Covino
and Rich FSR on YouTube. So aside from Midweek Major,
Rich also giving away prizes. We're gonna do Mike's Wednesday
Words of Wisdom. But right now we are live from
(36:42):
the Fox Sports Radio studio and it's time for our
tyrec Play of the day.
Speaker 1 (36:47):
There was a walk off in Toronto.
Speaker 7 (36:49):
Kimberl's pitch hit on the ground, right side timing stop
walker pits front of the plate is light hit the
blue days whining Tyler Hin him in the Hero three
in favor of the Blue Jays, who went into the
nine down by a pair.
Speaker 1 (37:05):
They somehow, some way come out with the wind. Yeah,
good for Tyler heine Man.
Speaker 2 (37:11):
Well, the Yankees are now three games behind those Toronto
Blue Jays. I was hard to see the Blue Jays
radio on network. They had a walk off whoop me
to do? Hey, Tyreck play the day. For over forty years,
Tyraq has been helping customers find the right tires for how,
what and where they drive. Ship fast and free back by,
free road hazard protection, convenient installation options like my mobile
tire installation.
Speaker 1 (37:32):
Tyrack dot com.
Speaker 2 (37:33):
Way tire buying should be clearly I'm a Yankees fan,
Steve Cavino, Rich Davis Metz fan, and I know you
wanted to talk baseball real quick, but can I just
say something to yep As the Yankees get ready to
take on the Tigers, did you see that miserable.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
Lost they had yesterday?
Speaker 2 (37:48):
Well? I was happy about it because every day the
Yankees win. I owe you more money, I know, but
I've never I've been watching baseball for over forty years.
It's my favorite. I've never seen a major league team
with this much potential.
Speaker 1 (38:06):
Play so poorly.
Speaker 2 (38:09):
It's like a little league team when they get frazzled
and they crumble, you know, and like it just gets
in their head and all of a sudden, the little
league team loses. You're like, ah, because they're little and
they're frazzled and they can't deal with the pressure. It's
like one thing happens with the Yankees and they fall
apart like a bunch of little babies. I've never seen
big leaguers play so bad, capable of so many mental errors.
Speaker 1 (38:32):
I've never seen it.
Speaker 4 (38:33):
Nine runs were scored before your two pitchers finally, dude,
one of your two bullpen guys gotten out. So that
hasn't happened since two thousand and three.
Speaker 2 (38:43):
It's just stuff like that all the time. It's unbelievable,
and your mets are no better?
Speaker 1 (38:47):
Why not?
Speaker 2 (38:48):
It's this man. But let me ask you this. Though
I'm now I'm in total rationalization mode. I'm rationalizing with
the best of them. Is there a part of you
that feels like when your team is within a game
or so, or only up a game or so, that
final two weeks of the baseball season two and a
half weeks, do you like to coast into the playoffs
(39:09):
or is there something to be said about scoreboard watching
for the last two and final weeks of the season,
Like right now it makes you feel live, Like right now,
I feel alive and excited watching watching the Giants. Weird
way to be though, Like I know what you mean,
Like anytime there's like miserable things going on, you feel alive.
Speaker 1 (39:26):
But that's not a good thing.
Speaker 2 (39:27):
Yeah, I'm watching this Giants Diamondbacks game with invested interest
because the Giants are two games behind the Mets, so
that the Diamondbacks are helping me. It's a I like
to relax. Oh I like that franticness. Nah, it's frantic,
like metallic a frantic? Isn't there sort of fun like them?
Buy you're going into the final going into the final
week or so the NFL season where you like, my
team could win, make a wild card if I win
(39:49):
but the Packers lose.
Speaker 1 (39:51):
Like I like that.
Speaker 6 (39:52):
I was just going to compare it to fantasy football,
like when you win by fifty points, Okay, it's fun,
but it's real fun when you're down eight on Monday
night and your guy catches a touchdown pass and you
end up winning. Yes, like that's the reason that why
you play. So to me, that's the drama a little.
Speaker 2 (40:07):
Bit, if you know what I argue all the time,
like he'll watch a Yankees game if it's nine to
one and I'm like, nah, that's the day I check out,
I go read my kids and book or something like that.
I want it to be too two bottom of the eighth, like,
come on, let's go put something together. I like the drama.
You like the ease, so to me, like my metfan
friends drama show that for Triple g h they're having
heart attacks and I'm like, guys, we're up two games
(40:31):
with seventeen games to go. I'm not quite sure it
gets more exciting. So I I speak on behalf of
the You know, you might say the crazy fan who
says this, you're trying to find a silver lining of
your team stinking.
Speaker 1 (40:42):
I mean, yeah, I guess you're probably right there.
Speaker 2 (40:44):
But there is a part of me that is sort
of excited to wake up every day and not just
my game, Like I'm watching the Diamondbacks versus the Giants,
I'm watching the Reds Padres, like all these games mean
so much now just makes it great for baseball and hey,
I said less than twenty games.
Speaker 1 (41:00):
Let's go Mets more next
