Speaker 1 (00:20):
Ah.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Yeah, I wanted to leave a dramatic cause just to
scare everybody. Okay, there where are they were? Danny g
Sound like in the in the pods on Love Is Blind?
Someone goes in there.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
And like, hello, Hello, Yeah, how many people are gonna
get ghosted this season?
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Oh my goodness, it is so stupidly good.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
When I'm done watching baseball playoffs and Trevor Lawrence falling
two times and still getting in the end zone, I
turned down Love Is Blind last night, and I got
so little sleep because I was up no joke till
like one thirty in the morning, watching a stupid reality
show that's so entertaining. All right, well, hey, probably your
stroke for different folks is that Peter Gammons or Philip Drummond.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
We'd be rocking out. Cavino and Rich on Fox Sports
Radio learned long ago that the world don't move to
the beat of just one drum.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
No, I'm gonna watch Love is Blind, But right now
I'm focused on the Yankees.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
You gotta love you watch it by tomorrow. Yeah, i'
watch it tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (01:20):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
I think they're gonna tease us tonight. I think they're
gonna Well that's what every went off tonight.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
That's a good team. Good does it?
Speaker 4 (01:26):
You know what?
Speaker 2 (01:26):
In fact, for you and for the sake of just
good baseball, I'm hoping some of these teams that are
down two to zero get hot force game fours and fives,
because otherwise, honestly, we're gonna sit around for like four
days waiting for the championship rounds. And that's not fun.
Speaking of different strokes for different folks, different strokes to
rule the world. As they also said in the eighties,
(01:47):
one day at a time, one day at a time.
Yankees win today, they win the next game, push it
to a game five? Is anybody series? It's been done before,
So let's go and like rich you could hate on
the Yankees, O, you wre that's fine, just for the
fun of it, don't you want good baseball exactly?
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Just fun of it? If they win. There's a brand
new life around the bend.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Oh, you know, that's an old theory. We have guys, Iowa, Sam,
Danny g dan Byer, Spotty. You love this theory. It's
an old Cavino and Rich favorite. We'll take it back
on a Tuesday real quick. The keys to life, the
keys to happiness all live in the soundtracks, in the
opening themes to eighty sitcoms.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
It's true a.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Brand new laugh ou round the bend. There were times
I lost a dreamer too. Yeah, I mean the world
that't moved to the beat of just one. Honestly, the
words of wisdom lie right there in front of your eyes.
As long as we got each other, we got the
world's been right in our hands, rain or shine all
the time. Come on, yeah, So.
Speaker 5 (02:49):
Isn't there a Pocahontas just around the river bend? Is
that like a lyric and one of their songs? Well,
all the answers to Pocahontas. I'm sticking to TV themes there, Pocaonta,
all the answers to life an eighties sitcom theme song.
Can I guess something about ioa?
Speaker 4 (03:02):
Sam?
Speaker 2 (03:03):
So, if you're feeling down, hold on, if you're feeling
down about your team, just cue up some old Who's
the Boss or growing Pains or mister Belvedere. All the
answers are there, guys to cheer you up and get
you right on track.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
Perfect strangers that one in there?
Speaker 4 (03:16):
What did we learn from Threes Company?
Speaker 1 (03:19):
Wow?
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Seventies? So that's like Kyle, Yes, it's eighties. I imagine
you were watching the rerun. If you if you knock
on someone's door, that you'll be waiting for you.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
I swear to God.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Though. Here's a little fun fact too. If you look
up the old Threes Company theme song in the pilot episode,
do you know what the lyrics are? Oh?
Speaker 4 (03:40):
You guys have talked about this before.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
Do we do we do? Do?
Speaker 4 (03:43):
Do we do? We do?
Speaker 1 (03:48):
What years did that air? Anyway?
Speaker 2 (03:49):
Is that late seventies? Late seventies to early eighties? My
dad love John Rettter?
Speaker 1 (03:54):
What call hell?
Speaker 4 (03:55):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (03:56):
Come knocking out. I'll tell you what.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
If the Yankees is tonight, I'll meet you for a
drink at the Regal Beagle and we'll drink our sorrows away.

but we'll play some games. We'll talk about Flocko, we'll
talk some UFC and more here on the Covino and
Rich Show. Flocko has been ultimately dissed, and we'll explain
why in a little bit. We'll talk about last night's
Monday night football game. But I do have an observation
about Iowa Sam. He's in a pocket. He's an age pocket.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
He's an old soul.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
I was saying is but he's in an age pocket,
much like my wife and your girlfriend's on the lower
end of that age pocket where their Disney movie references
are the ones that we've never seen. There was the
Disney renaissances they call it, right, like Lion King Aladdin
nineties yeah, the Beast like it was a little Mermand
(05:22):
like eighty nine. Yeah, but that was like the Disney
was dry with boring, weak ass movies until the nineties.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
Then they exploded again.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
But then before all the ones you know now, the
toy stories and all the you know, super elaborate Disney
movies of today, there was a pocket of movies that
my wife will reference.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
I've Seeno's girlfriend reference it.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
Same with you, Sam, Like Hercules and Hunchback of Notre
Dame and what's the one my wife loves?
Speaker 4 (05:48):
My wife?
Speaker 2 (05:49):
Yeah, my wife loves the Let's get down to business.
I'm like, what are you talking about? She's like mulan.
I'm like, who will seem that? She's like everyone, Yeah,
my girlfriend, I swear to you that Hercules is the
best movie.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
I'm like, too, who interesting.
Speaker 5 (06:02):
Yeah, I've actually never seen Hercules or Mulin or Pocahontas.
I just happened to know that song.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Oh he's a man of knowledge. But I love the
Lion King.
Speaker 5 (06:09):
I love Beauty and the Beast, little Mermaid, all those.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
Oh Sam, a man of wisdom.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
Danny g loves is done Laddin. And I hope you
had a Dodgers Jaguars sort of Monday night.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
Hope you enjoyed your Monday night football.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
We all partied here at Fox, but Dan Byer has
something to say.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
What's up, Dan Byer?
Speaker 6 (06:28):
Yeah, you could also have a Brewer sort of night.
I know that series doesn't matter to you, like again,
like it is it is? I you know what officially officially,
I'm a Rich Davis s guy. Yes, it was of
October seventh, breaking news. Oh you know it's seventh Eastern.
I'm a Rich Davis guy. Enough enough.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
It's Rich's birthday, everybody, So your first president of.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
The day, my first president, Dan Buyer's a Rich birthday Rich.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
Yeah, just say it's Rich's birthday.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
Well it's his month's birthday too.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Yeah, whoa you say it's Rich's birthday? Team Dan Bayer
is your presence Rich? You say is Rich's birthday? Man,
I'm so excited about this. Happy but they do.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
And it's so funny though you were like you left
out one team.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
There was a reason to that, and it wasn't too
slight DB's Brewers. It was to bring up the fact
that there's a lot of talk that the Dodgers should
have lost last night. That was really the reason why
they know when you knew the Brewers were gonna win
that game, I'll be honest in the first inning when
the Cubbies went up three to zero in the top
(07:36):
of the inning, three run bomb, and they just responded
in the bottom of the first and I remember thinking myself, Yo,
there's this Brewers team, maybe like a team of destiny.
We've downplayed them because they're not New York or LA
or Chicago or Philadelphia. This Brewers team's got fight, they
got Gusta, they got balls. This team is fantastic.
Speaker 6 (07:59):
And Misseerowski last night, where you wondered on how he
would be able to transition because he hadn't been good
at the end of the regular season, was lights out
and brought enormous energy.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
Dude. When he took the ball on the comebacker told
the first basement, I got it, ran through first and
did like a Hulkamania flex like I was yo in
that moment, I'm like yo, this guy's awesome. He got
me as a fan last night, and it's wild that
the guy throws. Now, I just think people lose perspective
(08:31):
because you're shocked so much with the athleticism and feats
we see in sports these days.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
Well, speaking of have you seen Lebrons his feet? Man,
those are brutal.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
No.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
I was waiting for his huge announcement today, Dann Bayer.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
When this guy's throwing one hundred and three and one
hundred and four on every pitch like it's no trouble whatsoever.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
It really, we are so spoiled that we don't.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
Realize how special and crazy that is. When we were
growing up, a guy that threw ninety three ninety four.
If you have a young prospect that throws in the
ninety that's insane, even wild thing.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
Rick Vaughan was just hitting high nineties, right.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
It's it's yeah, bananas to think that this kid is
throwing one hundred.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
And four miles an hour on the regular.
Speaker 6 (09:11):
You're disappointed when you only saw one hundred like I
felt like when it flashed up, you're like, ooh, dude,
and yeah, exactly.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
For perspectives as a Mets fan, Edwin Diaz, arguably one
of the best closers in the game, who will have
an opt out of his contract. Maybe he'll end up
on your team if the Mets don't keep him. Edwin Diaz,
who's considered lights out. When he hits one hundred, everyone's like, oh,
you know, not ninety nine, that was one hundred. This
guy is unbelievable. And as they said last night on
(09:39):
the broadcast, even your coach said, your manager, he doesn't
even he hasn't even learned how to pitch yet. Right
when they figure out and they have the right coaching
and guide this kid, it's something special they are.
Speaker 6 (09:52):
It's it's such a unique team because the city and
the state of falling in love with really a bunch
of no name guys outside of Christian Yelich, you know,
I mean Contrara's you know the name. But he actually
thought maybe his brother was more of the star. But
he's been absolutely magnificent.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
I remember because I'm a you know, I'm a big
baseball guy. I've been the last couple of years a
big fan of Cherio. I feel like he is one
of those underrated guys.
Speaker 6 (10:15):
Like if you don't know Cheriourios, Yeah, he's also fourteen
years old, like he's like so young, such a kid.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
Yes, and you know last night, I don't know who
hit the ball. Further that Vladdie Grand Slam against the
Yankees the or in the bottom of the third Contreras
did he get all that pitch?
Speaker 5 (10:35):
Well?
Speaker 2 (10:35):
Was the exit v low because I believe Laddie's was
one hundred and eleven miles crowd, but that bombed by Contreras.
Dann Bayer, you must have that was your mom, Like okay, all.
Speaker 6 (10:44):
Right, yeah, I mean it was Vomb's was such a
like a question mark, like oh, did he just fly
out to and the inning and then it went over?
Speaker 4 (10:51):
Not the case with Contreras.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
So there you go.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
You know what, we should all root for a Yankees
Brewers World Series, so the Cavino every day would have
to give your Brewers problems. By the way, I have
nothing at all against the Brewers for the record, and
I do think it's a great story that I think
the rest of the world is catching up to right
now because they're like, who are these guys?
Speaker 1 (11:14):
And you're not that far off like dB SI and
a guy like that. Nobody.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
It's not that we knew and you didn't. No one
expected them to be this good. They're just a great
cast of characters and a great team all around. And
again he won seven to three. Less Cubs are up
to nothing. You know, when you do a deep dive
on a team, sometimes they could be football NBA when
you're like, yeah, let me learn this team more. I
actually did that with your Brewers maybe a month or
so ago. And another guy that I feel like he's
(11:38):
always showed up when he plays my team, and I
feel like Terrag is another guy that goes under the
red art second basement, who has eighty one RBI this year,
eighteen homers to eighty eight in today's game, it might
as well be Bett in three thirty.
Speaker 6 (11:50):
Yeah, and any end of the season just absolutely on fire.
I can't remember for his August or September, but he was,
I mean, yeah, he was. He was white hot instead
of red hot.
Speaker 4 (12:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (12:00):
A bunch of guys.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
Can talk about Otani, Mookie and Freddy and Ti Oscar
or Judge and Stanton or you know Vladdie and you
know Kirk that that Brewers team is so under the radar.
Well let me rephrase then, Okay, your big babies, big
Sports babies. I hope you had a Brewer's Dodgers and
Jaguars sword of Night, okay, But the reason I focused
(12:24):
on the Dodgers rich, and we're going to get to
the Chiefs. The Brewers, we already said it. Their chemistry
is undeniably good. They're just a great team with all
the elements of young energy mixed with some veteran players.
But you really don't know them except for like he
said Yelich last night, there was some criticism. We were
here partying celebrating Ron Parker, so a lot of us
(12:46):
were here back at the studio. Rob Parker had a
catered celebration last night here at Fox Sports Radio, celebrating
his press booth atsu at Fress Box, named after him
at his alma Maters. So we had a good time watching.
But there was a lot of speculation, not only on
(13:07):
the Chiefs, like what's the deal with the cheef. We're
gonna get to that, but the Dodgers, because a lot
of people were saying last night, Danny g that your
Dodgers and Dave Roberts especially deserve to lose that game.
In fact, they'll just play a clip ritch for you
to listen to NBC Sports Philly. Former pitcher for the Phillies,
Ricky Battalico was saying that Dave Roberts almost blew it.
Speaker 6 (13:29):
Let's face it, Dave Roberts gave them a gift putting
in Blake trying it, Blake trying it has been awful
all season long.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
Phillies had a golden opportunity there in the night. They
couldn't come up big.
Speaker 6 (13:39):
I would absolutely question what if I was a think
about being a Dodger fan, you would.
Speaker 4 (13:43):
Have been going, Your mind would have been blowing up.
Speaker 1 (13:46):
It was perfect for the Phillies.
Speaker 6 (13:48):
He basically on a silver platter, said Hey, I'm gonna
throw this guy out there because I don't think you
guys are going to do anything.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
Trannvesia and then finally Sasaki. Yeah, I mean we're kind
of sitting here surmising maybe something that's wrong with Sasaki
and then he gets up in the bullpen.
Speaker 6 (14:02):
Yeah, you know what, Dave Roberts deserved to lose that game.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
Well, Hayley at times will overcompensate for some mismatched play
like the Dodgers. I know enough about him just from
watching in Danny g every day we talked Dodgers off
the air. Even those two guys training and Vessia are
liabilities at times.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
Yeah, why the hesitation though? Danny g for Sasaki there.
Speaker 3 (14:27):
Well Dave Roberts, and they were debating this at the
end of the broadcast as well, saying that Roberts had
said before the game that if he had a chance
to maybe give trying In some confidence going into the
rest of the postseason, he would do it. And there
we go again. We talked about this just a few
weeks back. Remember how I lost it when Roberts blew
(14:48):
a couple of those no hitters.
Speaker 4 (14:49):
Remember, and I.
Speaker 3 (14:50):
Said, dude, you're not a therapist. You're not there to
give guys confidence.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
And is a close game to the time to play
games like that past season, that was the time to
try things out.
Speaker 3 (15:01):
Look, without being a hyper fan, you could argue that
he was trying to give Sasaki some time to rest.
He's coming off of surgery from last year, but he
had a day off, he hasn't thrown a lot of pitches,
and he's turning into their ace closer and then there
will be a day off tomorrow. So he was sitting
in a perfect pocket to bring him in but you
(15:21):
saw what happened right away. It was a four to
three game in the bottom of the ninth, and then
he had to go to Sasaki and it turned out
great with that. Of course, you saw the wheel play,
and then you saw Freeman save the game by stretching.
Speaker 2 (15:33):
Out Tommy Edmund for you know, he had to when
something like that happens. When Edmund ground ball, weird, not
like a tough play for Freeman's to scoop like that
at for us, and he did it. So of course
Freddy continues to just start.
Speaker 3 (15:48):
Because it looked like a routine throw at a first
base over thought it and on the TELECASTI he's like
he threw a lawn dart, and that's what it was.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
You got to ask yourself after that game.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Tommy's got to go up to Freddie and be like, yeah, man,
you'll honestly dinner, drinks whatever on me.
Speaker 4 (16:04):
I mean, he.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
Saved catch it. No, I get it, I get it.
It was a close game, so they got away with
one yesterday. And you brought up that wheel play, and
there's some controversy there too. I don't know how you
want to spin it or look at it. But when
he got together at the mound. The story was Mookie
Bets called the play, but Dave Roberts took credit for
the play after the game.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
Is that how just life works.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
It doesn't matter who comes up with the idea, whoever's
in charge takes credit for it. If you're in the
meeting and you come up with an idea, then your
boss is like, I got this great idea.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
That's life, that's just da. Dave Roberts is the boss.
Speaker 2 (16:40):
So I think we all saw Mookie Bets make that call,
or at least bring it up.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
And it doesn't take Dave Roberts to say, yeah, do it.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
Yeah, he had to agree to classic case of you
come up with the great idea and someone else takes
credit for her, and that's just how it is.
Speaker 3 (16:56):
One thing I liked about Bets is he gave credit
to Roja. He said, playing with a great infielder like him,
he's taught me when to call plays like that. And
he said, Rojas taught me in a must win situation,
we should always go with the wheel play.
Speaker 2 (17:12):
Got so many examples of that just from real life.
And the boss is taking credit for your ideas. I'm
sure it's happened. To you and your radio career, Danny
g anyone's career, anyone's career, and we saw that last night.
And in every movie is that like the plotlund every movie,
like someone's boss takes the credit for their I used
to see my boss get plaques dedicated to him based
(17:33):
on some of my ideas. Some of your songs were
like you got to play the song and then it
becomes a you know, a platinum record.
Speaker 3 (17:39):
Friend of mine at Power one on six he watched
big Boy get a Rolex watch from Doctor Dre and
he was the one who put the record into rotation, right,
and he just had to live with it. He's like, oh, man,
I don't get a Rolex.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
A good manager listens to his team, his players, his employees,
whatever the case may be.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
Uh, you know when he feels us right.
Speaker 3 (17:58):
But why but why won't Dave robert sometimes just clows
out again.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
I hate to say the dirty word, but it's probably
it all goes back to analytics and then, as you said,
confidence building. But I think that was poor timing there.
I think a lot of those questionable moves come back
to that.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
Well.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
I think that Dave Roberts is well respected in my
eyes at least among the team any and you know
the fans may get on him, but you know, if
your boss treats you well, like, for instance, not to
kiss ass around here. But our bosses treat us really
well here, So if they steal an idea of mine,
I don't care, because they treat us well.
Speaker 4 (18:32):
You're hoping for a birthday gift from him.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
Sorry, you know.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
By the way, speaking of birthdays, shout out to another
birthday boy today, speaking of which Mookie Bets turns thirty
three days and as I mentioned before, is Rich's mom's
birthday and she tunes in too. Rich is born on
the same day as his mom.
Speaker 4 (18:47):
It's Tony Braxton's birthday today.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
Too, Simon Cawell. But yeah, no, Mookie thirty three years old,
in the prime of his career, trying to win another
World Series.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
Mookie Bets just the winner.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
Showing leadership, doing his thing, the Dodgers looking solid, and
you always loved to point out just also just an
all around great athlete and guy. Mookie Bets, like Covinos,
impressed with his bowling.
Speaker 1 (19:07):
The dude could bowl like he's legit.
Speaker 3 (19:09):
No, maybe we should explain the wheel play really quick
because we don't see that.
Speaker 4 (19:13):
It was very often baseball.
Speaker 3 (19:15):
Yeah, so the third baseman rushes in towards home plate
because you're you're expecting a bunt there.
Speaker 1 (19:22):
The shortstop covers third exactly.
Speaker 3 (19:24):
So it was a five to six and that's the
first time the Dodgers have had that combination and during
the season.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
But that's what makes it a weely good play.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
The shortstop, right Bets has to be fast enough and
have the athleticism to get to third base, and you
saw him leap and make the out there.
Speaker 4 (19:41):
It was pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
Well, you know what though, Danny G. Because I saw
Dany I was with Danny G last night. Oh really
what he tell us all about it? What he was
doing was Steamy Knight. Oh we were here for rob.
I don't know if this was like the general consensus
of everybody, but Danny G. Your first impression was that
Mookie Bets was saying and that we got to get
Sasaki in.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
Was that the rumor?
Speaker 3 (20:02):
Yeah, because online I kept hearing, oh, Bets made that call.
Bets made that call, but people weren't saying what call.
And then later in the night it was like, oh, okay,
he made the.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
Wheel call, are you following like that? First everyone was like, yo,
Mookie Betts was the one that said Sasaki needs to come,
Dave Robins, So that was the buzz at first.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
Well, then it turns out he called that wheel play
real solid.
Speaker 4 (20:22):
Really quick.
Speaker 3 (20:23):
Rich our listener tweeted, last night, Dave Roberts, Oh's Rokie
Sasaki a sushi dinner, Tommy Edmund Owes, Freddie Freeman a Porsche.
Speaker 1 (20:31):
There you go.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
Yeah, you know, by the way, I want to plan
on one last thing before we move on to so
many other things we're gonna get to today. The Chiefs too,
but Dodgers Phillies. That was Philly's opportunity to split the series,
that ninth inning that had momentum, gaining momentum. They had
momentum on their side, and I'm telling you that, uh,
just seeing the next play when Harrison Bader rips a
(20:52):
nice line drive you like that wheel play turned out
to be so important Otherwise it's a tie game. But
fans of other teams will tell you the execution by
Max Munsey and Mookie Betts was perfect. That the likelihood
of that play not working out as perfect like Monthy
charge fielded it cleanly, didn't hesitate, turned around, immediately fired
(21:14):
off a strike while Mookie's athoughticism like quickly straddled the
bag like everything about that play was textbook. If you
were given a baseball seminar, if you were coach ballgame,
you'd be it really was a masterclass. And that's how
you apply the tag. That's how you don't block the base,
but you straddle it. Like everything about that.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
You're right, that throw that easily nine out of ten
times could just go.
Speaker 4 (21:40):
Baseline.
Speaker 2 (21:41):
Every Met fan friend I had said, you know who
throws that ball into left field? Mark Vianta's, Brett Batty
or anyone the Mets would have had a third base.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
So congrats to again everyone contributing. Max Munsey. Now, do
you guys when I see you guys, hey.
Speaker 2 (21:57):
Collective, the collective you guys from and gut us because
everything every night is ladies night here on Fox Sports Radio,
everybody listening, do you guys believe in a good loss?
You guys look like to have to believe in that, right,
But do you believe that the Chiefs had a good
loss yesterday? Because that's the speculation here. Even Colin Cowherd
(22:20):
was saying that this morning, when you really look at
what the mistakes were and what they could improve on,
or do you look at it as this is the
decline of the Chiefs and the incline, this is the
start of something big for the Jaguars.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
How do you look at last night?
Speaker 2 (22:38):
We'll talk about that too, And of course we're giving
away prizes show time of homes trivia after a tough loss.
Speaker 4 (22:44):
Yes, so all.
Speaker 2 (22:46):

(23:52):
Doobie Brothers? Well, yes, it is Covino.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
I remember one time rerun got caught recording the Doobie brother.
Speaker 2 (24:01):
That's where I learned the lesson to never bootleg anything.
I'm is this an original tracker or a bootleg from Iowa?
Speaker 1 (24:07):
Sam? He'll never know.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
That's Sam On the Ones and Twos, we got Danny
g on the phone, super producing at eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox. He'll take your phone calls because
we're the most interactive, most inclusive show on radio. We
love to chop it up with you guys. Dan Byer's
got your update in about eight minutes. We're Cavino and
Rich on Fox Sports Radio's fotty boy?
Speaker 4 (24:27):
What was that?
Speaker 2 (24:27):
What's that new AI? Like technology? You and Covino keep
showing me Sora by by open AI when I tell
you the AI you're seeing now is ridiculous. My mother,
I don't think she's getting fooled. I think she's a
little keen to it now. But she's like, did you
see Mahomes after the game and you're seeing like really
crazy AI where it's like it looks like Mahomes on
(24:49):
the field, like crying and punching something.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
Yeah, I'm like, oh, that wasn't real, insane? Great for society.
Have you seen Michael jack Jackson's stand up comedy? Oh,
it's great. How about Martin Luther King? That guy was
a oh you see it's great?
Speaker 4 (25:01):
DJ.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
Yeah, it's it's the one I don't like it.
Speaker 2 (25:04):
Did you see the one where it's Martin Luther King
and he's like I didn't have a dream and he's
like six seven?
Speaker 1 (25:09):
Did you see that? Still? So dumb? It's also like do.
Speaker 4 (25:13):
That to an icon of our No, it's ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
Disrespectful, it's dangerous because we already live.
Speaker 1 (25:19):
In a world where we don't know what's real and what's.
Speaker 4 (25:23):
More so.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
Now I don't like all the AI stuff, and if
you're off the radar on it, let's just say it's
next level overnight because of what's called Sora Sora Sora.
So again Covino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio, speaking
of which Robin Williams, the late Great Robin Williams, his
daughter said, my dad wouldn't want you doing these things
to his likeness and everything, so please stop sending me
(25:45):
because people are sending I guess Robin Robin Williams family,
They're like, oh, the what we did with like your
dad's likeness, and it's like, no, we don't.
Speaker 1 (25:52):
And it's permeating sports.
Speaker 2 (25:54):
I mean, it's relevant because you always see like the
postgame press conferences where they make them say random weird things,
and it as the AI gets better, you're gonna.
Speaker 1 (26:02):
Believe it more and more. It's great.
Speaker 2 (26:05):
And they circulates so fast, so fast, so fast, because
immediately after the game if the Yankees, if the Yankees
lose tonight, you're gonna see Aaron Boone saying some weird
stuff that's not real, guaranteed in a matter of minutes.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
So who's ever doing this?
Speaker 2 (26:19):
Uh? I guess congrats you're you're you're quick, and you're
good at it.
Speaker 3 (26:22):
But I love some of the dopes in the comments.
Can't believe he said that the room they gotta be trolled.
I didn't know some of some of the people in
there seem fool.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
I mean, did you never know Danny's right? I think something,
don't believe it? Can I say one thing?
Speaker 5 (26:38):
After those awful floods in Texas, they had these fake
pictures like Blake Shelton and Patrick Mahomes down there helping
and there was like two hundred thousand loves and likes
on Facebook and people were thinking that was real.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
I'm like, it looked did not look real. But people
just get fooled.
Speaker 3 (26:52):
Yeah, because cove there's some that are extreme and even
the biggest dummy would know, Okay, that's fake. And then
there's somewhere they just tweak it and it's more subtle.
Speaker 4 (27:00):
You don't know right away that it's fake.
Speaker 2 (27:02):
Spot showed me one not to sound sacrilegious. Spots showed
me one. It was Jesus doing a selfie at the
Last Supper and he's and he's got all the apostles
wild And I saw one too.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
It's easy too, because they were all on the same
side of the table. Yeah, it was good.
Speaker 2 (27:17):
And uh I saw another one and it was the
commentator Jim Ross from w W E fame, remember the legendary.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
Oh my god, Jim Ross.
Speaker 2 (27:24):
He's calling a wrestling match where Jesus beats Satan.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
It's like these things and dude, it's insane.
Speaker 6 (27:32):
I saw the one of mister Rogers and Bob Ross
on top of the ladder. Oh yeah, yea that, Yes,
it's all over it. Yeah, they get around quick. I
just want to I said to his spot this morning.
I said, maybe it's a faed and it goes away.
I hope that's the case, because I hope the future
isn't all like here's a real or not and using
people's likeness when they're dad it's weird.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
It's weird stuff.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
But speaking of weird, before we get to dB, just
your quick thoughts on the Chiefs Jaguar because that was
also exhilarating last night. And it's always fun when you're
you know, with a bunch of people. And like I said,
we just so happened to be celebrating Ron Parker yesterday.
And when you saw Trevor Lawrence run that in the
place exploded, No, because that was wild. Dude gets tripped up,
(28:17):
falls down, falls down again and still runs it in
and the Jaguars beat the Chiefs on what planet?
Speaker 1 (28:24):
This one last night on.
Speaker 2 (28:25):
A planet where Chris Jones looked like he was standing
around picking his.
Speaker 1 (28:29):
Ass and he was just standing there like he was
doing the pension roll.
Speaker 4 (28:32):
Right, I.
Speaker 2 (28:34):
Get it. Listen, Sometimes he got away. Sometimes a play
does seem far enough away from you and there is
a sense of like do I fake it? Because listen,
if there's a role left, there was a pinsion roll.
There was a pension roll going on.
Speaker 1 (28:49):
I get where.
Speaker 2 (28:50):
Sometimes a guy Danny g looks like, well, he's so
far away from the play.
Speaker 3 (28:54):
And when a quarterback's down on the ground, usually they
stay there and protect the football.
Speaker 2 (28:58):
Yeah, but Chris Jones got caught off guard because of
Trevor Lawrence's wherewithal to oh, I wasn't touched.
Speaker 1 (29:04):
I'm gonna get up.
Speaker 2 (29:05):
So you see Trevor Lawrence juking and move it and everything,
and Chris Jones makes no attempt to even go.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
Towards him, and it's so weird.
Speaker 2 (29:14):
It's like, you know, it's like you know, a five
ball that's just up there forever and no one catches it.
Like that ball is up there for three minutes, no
one caught it. I thought you were gonna call it.
To think that he fell once. He fell once and
then fell twice and then still ran it. And you're like,
no one touched him, the old saying fall once, Yeah
(29:34):
on you twice, Shame on the Chief. Yeah I can't talk,
but I'm telling you Rob Park or everybody here celebrating
Rob Place exploded because we were like, oh my god,
and the Jaguars win thirty one twenty eight. Now, there's
so many ways to dissect what happened yesterday. And you
could say, wow, the Jaguars are finally turning a quarter
a corner here new coach Trevor Lawrence is, you know,
(29:57):
playing big stepping up. You could say the chief are
losing the juice, you know, their windows closing or is
it because there is speculation too that hey man, a
lot of the mistakes that they're making the reason they're
losing are things that could be correct. And when you
have a coach like Andy Reid and you got plenty
of Seatson left and rich as a schedule watcher, You'll
see that they'll still be up there when all's said
(30:19):
and done if they make those adjustments. And again I'm
paraphrasing some of what Colin Cowherd was saying yesterday because
he still believes that the Chiefs are going to achieve
and there's still a team, a dangerous team that are
gonna make those adjustments. I mean, I think there could
be such thing as a good loss. Did you guys
have any of you guys happen to see the pregame
(30:40):
where Jason Kelsey sat down with Mahomes, Travis and Andy Reid.
It was a really a good little pregame like interview
where you know, he jokingly starts with the question, we
all want to know, Hey, Travis, when's the wedding date?
Speaker 1 (30:53):
Mahaha, And then.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
They got into what's going on and Mahomes and Andy Reid, honest,
they both echoed what you're saying now, which is, hey,
in the past, the balls bounced our way, and you know,
we're seeing adversity where things like one or two plays
are making the difference and they're not going in our
favorite And when you got Patrick Mahomes still throwing three
(31:15):
hundred and eighteen yards, you know, still playing good, still
showing his signs of magic. You have to assume that
they're gonna turn it around or maybe not.
Speaker 6 (31:23):
What's up, DV I was just gonna say the thing
that stood out to me the most was the drive
that the Chiefs had at the end of the game.
We all remember what they did against the Bills in
the playoff game to Tyreek Hill to Kelsey, bring Butker out.
That was the plan this time. And what happens. Hollywood
Brown gets hitting the helmet with the football because he's
not aware that it's coming his way. And Troy Aikman
(31:47):
even said on the broadcast that he probably could have
gotten around a midfield like those are the plays that
Pete Chiefs made, this version of the Chiefs, Chris Jones
not running around, Hollywood Brown getting hit in the helmet.
These are the plays that you aren't making in twenty
twenty five.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
You know what the opposite of peak Chiefs is, right, buns,
chiefs cheeks, cheeks, Chiefs cheeks.
Speaker 2 (32:09):
And so how do you view it because in a
world to tie it back to what we were saying
before about AI where you don't know what to believe, right,
you do hear a lot of people. I mean, believe
your own eyes and make your own assessment. Yeah, but
there's a lot of chatter of the Chiefs or ass
and the Chiefs have lost it and Kelsey's not the
same Kelsey that he was. And then on the flip side,
you're like, no, no, no, no no. There's a lot
(32:31):
of young players making a lot of young stupid mistakes.
And with Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes and the veteran leadership,
they will make those adjustments and they will be the
Chiefs that we know. Give it a few more weeks.
I think there's a what do you believe? I think
there's a you know, when the Packers acquired Micah Parsons,
or as Jerry Jones will say, Michael Parsons, the Vegas
(32:54):
odds gave them another game or so. I think the
difference between a Chiefs team that goes fifteen to two
or fourteen and three or thirteen and four versus a
team that goes maybe ten and seven, eleven and six
tries to sneak in at ten and seven, that's the
difference between these close games.
Speaker 1 (33:09):
Going one way or the other.
Speaker 2 (33:10):
We spent years, in years watching the Chiefs win every
one of those close games, and now those close games
are bouncing the other way, which doesn't mean they're bad,
It just means they're not getting it. And it did
take an incredible play from Trevor Lawrence to win that
game thirty one twenty eight, so both could be true.
The Chiefs could have had a tough loss, but a
(33:32):
good loss because they could correct some of these mistakes,
and maybe the Jaguars just I want to talk about I.
Speaker 1 (33:37):
Want to talk about that.
Speaker 4 (33:38):
Next.
Speaker 1 (33:38):
Well, let's go to dB for an update.
Speaker 6 (33:39):
Dan Buyer, What up, dB, guys, We've got some updates
on the baseball game that's being delayed by rain in Detroit.
Mariners and Tigers have yet to get underway with Game
three of their American League Divisional Series the broadcast on
Fox Sports one.
Speaker 4 (33:53):
The guys just said that.
Speaker 6 (33:53):
They're hoping for a seven thirty Eastern time start. Now
that would be opposite the eight o'clock Eastern times start
of the Jayson Yankees in their Game three, so Mariners
and Tigers would move to FS two. You could also
see it on the Fox Sports app and MLB Network
is expected to carry the Game two of the Mariners
and Tigers. So if you can't see that because of
(34:15):
the game being on Fox Sports one, that's where you
can find the Mariners and Tigers.
Speaker 2 (34:18):
Hey, Dan Byro, I just did a question for you, Yesterda,
because I'm sure you were locked in on the Brewers
game when Suzuki hit that home run. If you were
watching the Dodgers Phillies, they cut to that game right
as Suzuki was rounding the basis. Were they playing that
game on tn T or TBS was it or did
you missed it?
Speaker 1 (34:33):
People missed it?
Speaker 4 (34:34):
Yeah, I missed it.
Speaker 2 (34:36):
I just wanted to know it was like, was it
Eric somewhere else? Did they just sadly cut thinking nothing
would happen that early?
Speaker 6 (34:41):
Yeah, because you've only got so many options, right, Like
Fox can do FS two. But if you're TBSD you
cut out Bones on TNT, you think we.
Speaker 1 (34:52):
Need David borrianas I'm sorry about.
Speaker 6 (34:56):
I was shocked when he wasn't Bones, Like I never
watched the show, and I'm like, oh, he's Bones.
Speaker 1 (35:00):
Yeah, I thought the same thing. I learned that now, all.
Speaker 6 (35:03):
Right, some people learned that the NHL's regular season started today.
It's already underway. Blackhawks and Panthers tied up at one
apiece playing midway through the first period. It's one of
three games to start the NHL season. The big news
in the NFL the Bengals acquired quarterback Joe Flacco in
a trade with the Browns. Cleveland gets a fifth round pick,
Bengals get Flacco and a sixth rounder. Cincinnati released quarterback
Brett Rippon. Chargers acquired Ravens outside linebacker Oda Fayoway. He
(35:27):
had ten sacks last season. As part of the deal,
the Chargers sends safety Olahai Gilman and a fifth rounder
to Baltimore. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones find two hundred and
fifty thousand dollars for making an obscene gesture towards fans
during Sunday's winning New Jersey against the Jets. Reports are
that he's going to appeal the fine. He has until
Friday to do so, and ESPN reported earlier today. Bucks
(35:47):
forward Jannison Tetokumpo told the team he'd be willing to
be dealt to the Knicks this past summer, and the
Bucks and Knicks did have some conversations in August, but
never amounted to anything.
Speaker 1 (35:56):
Guys back to here, and that's.
Speaker 2 (35:57):
Like, yeah, that Hawker elf you want to sleep, But
you didn't imagine the Knicks fans like thinking, like, wow,
we could have added Giannis. And by the way, imagine
if you knew of all the hot girls that wanted
you that you didn't know about, oh my goodness that
you passed on, Oh my goodness side, Hey, Cavino and Rich,
we got a lot to get to NFL.
Speaker 1 (36:16):
I mean we're there, man for week five is a rap,
and we're gonna.
Speaker 2 (36:21):
Get to some more NFL and of course Major League
Baseball playoffs while coming up, and we'll give away some
prizes with my home showtime trivia hang tight. Happy birthday
to Rich Davis is the Rich Davis Celebration, Taco Tuesday Fiesta.
Happy birthday to your mom, Rich, Mary Ann and Tony
(36:43):
Braxton apparently.
Speaker 4 (36:45):
Yep, they're all turning fifty eight.
Speaker 1 (36:48):
Stop it. Happy fifty eighth to everybody. Stop it.
Speaker 2 (36:50):
I'm still my forties, Covino and Rich still the youngest
in the game. We've been doing it a long time though,
and always happy to be hanging with you guys.
Speaker 1 (37:00):
Sports Radio Nation, Thank you for everything.
Speaker 2 (37:01):
Danny g dB, Dan Byer Iowa sam in spots on
the videos. Remember Cavino and Rich FSR on YouTube. And
now it's time.
Speaker 3 (37:09):
Really quick though Braxton really is fifty eight today, crazy right?
Speaker 1 (37:13):
That cit is fun?
Speaker 2 (37:16):
She still looks good Man Live from the Fox Sports
Radio Studio, and it's time for our tire rack play
of the day. Trevor fin Lawrence fill not once, but twice,
Trevor under center.
Speaker 1 (37:32):
Please slip that he fell down. Trevor fell down on
the plane.
Speaker 4 (37:35):
Don't you gonna play run down?
Speaker 1 (37:38):
Don't cut down? Pig got up the plane. It's I
got Tapa Tenny, Trevor Lauren credit.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
Wow, that is courtesy as you could guess it the
Jaguars Radio Network. That's a ten xl in ninety two
to five FM. And that was our Tireract Play the Day.
And for for forty years, Tireract they've been helping people
find the right tires for how, what and where they drive.
Ship fast and free Free Road has a protection, convenient
insallation options all at tirerac dot com. The way tire
(38:16):
buying should be now Rich Besides that majestic shot of
Trevor Lawrence digging for gold last night, it's like his
hair was blowing in the wind. It was like a
fabio moment. And then he starts digging up his nose.
Have you seen this clip?
Speaker 1 (38:34):
I've seen still shots. How did that get captured on camera?
He was looking like right at the camera. No, that's
it looks really weird. It's a strange moment.
Speaker 2 (38:43):
Besides that, like any other takeaways, like is he showing
that he's the guy that we all expected him to be?
Speaker 3 (38:51):
Well?
Speaker 2 (38:51):
So Jaguars under new leadership? Are they legit well made?
Last night proved that. What are your final thoughts on
the Jacksonville You know it's so funny, would say Duval
I was haven't played that because the same way Dan
Campbell a couple of years we mocked when he was like,
we're gonna, you know what is it? Bite their kneecaps
and people mocked Dan Campbell and that dude changed around
(39:14):
the whole culture in Detroit and that team for the
last two three seasons is a super Bowl contender. But
he was mocked at first, and same thing with Duval.
When you back up Cohen, yeah it's always better.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
Cohen's a goofball.
Speaker 2 (39:30):
But guess what the Jags, who are usually stanking like
the Great Stink of eighteen fifty eight. They're looking good. Now,
let's not get carried away. They're four and one. Let
me give you the fore and one, but they're walking
the talk.
Speaker 1 (39:44):
They are.
Speaker 2 (39:44):
I'm really curious to see what it looks like. We're
not gonna see a matchup for a minute, but when
they play the Cults, that's gonna show me where the
AFC South is all at. I mean, you say that,
but they did beat so they beat the Panthers, the
beat your Niners. They beat the Panthers. When you have
to have right, you beat the lowly. You lost to
(40:05):
the Jags. I'm sorry you lost to the Bengals with Burrow.
Last second loss well last second? Yeah, so did they
hung in there? Beat the Texans before the Texans turned
it around, beat the Niners, capitalized on mistakes of Rock Party,
and then they beat the Chiefs.
Speaker 1 (40:20):
So it's sort of I'm not convince you this week.
Speaker 2 (40:23):
They're one and a half point favorites over Dan Byer Seahawks.
That's a really telling game for me. So that's one
of those I'm really gonna be watching closely. That's an
early game on Sunday. Seahawks at Jags Seahawks, gotta go
all the way to Florida. It's gonna be an interesting one,
so that that's a big one. And I don't know
(40:45):
any other final thoughts from last night, No, just that
it's gonna be exciting, like you said, watching them moving
forward man. And I don't believe that they're the Kansas
City Cheeks.
Speaker 4 (40:56):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (40:57):
I do think that they'll turn it around and we're
going to see the scene usual suspects come playoff time.
And one last note, we hit our teaser bet again,
so when we don't bet, we're nine to Oh congrats everybody,
