Speaker 2 (01:11):
Coming up in the final hour of the program, Our
good buddy Ross Tucker will stop by as well. Most
must win game of the weekend, Who had the best
week in sports?
Speaker 3 (01:21):
We will cover all of that.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
Man, I love the NFC South because I have no
idea who's good in the NFC South. If I was
ever going to take a head coaching job, it would
be in the NFC South because it feels like first
team to nine wins gets to win the division. The
Falcons come back and surprise the Buccaneers twenty nine to
twenty eight. Tampa's now seven and seven. They have two
(01:46):
games against the pesky Carolina Panthers coming up to end
their season. But wow, a fourteen point comeback in the
fourth quarter. Here's Baker Mayfield taking the blame.
Speaker 5 (02:00):
Disappointing obviously, but falls on my shoulders. Can't turn the
ball over, can't have that interception. Got to hit mec
and stride on that third down. Listen, you can say
what you want about being up two scores and the
defense right there, but we have to be better on
offense and it comes down to how I play.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
This one's gonna haunt me. This falls on my shoulders.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
The NFL is offering yet another reminder of why those
early season proclamations those hot takes age about as well
as milk does. Let's go back in September. All the Buccaneers,
there are forces in the NFC. You had analyst experts.
They thought the Buccaneers were going to rep the NFC
in the Super Bowl. Baker Mayfield MVP buzzing. They were
(02:44):
six and two, they were ready to go. They had
an offense, they had experience, they have a gritty, gutty quarterback. Well,
after going six and two, they're now seven and seven,
beaten up, inconsistent, and searching for answers.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
How about the Colts. Let's go back to September.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Oh, they had a great start, then they had injuries,
erratic play, and now they might have a forty four
year old former quarterback now current quarterback playing against Seattle.
Eight and five suddenly find themselves staring up in their
own division. A reminder that momentum is the NFL's most
fickle currency. And then you have the Texans left for
(03:24):
dead at three and five. They've won five in a row. Oh,
that's the league in a nutshell right there, the beginning
rarely matches the ending. In this year's plot, twist is
arriving right on schedule. Yes, Todd, Why isn't.
Speaker 6 (03:38):
That the Colt time that kept scoring constantly and never
punted for like three straight weeks?
Speaker 2 (03:42):
Now that same Yeah, it was long ago. That's why
everybody wants to have a hot take. Got to get
it out there. In September October, there's an ebb and flow.
There's a roller coaster ride for just about every team.
You know, the Patriots they have two losses. Do you
know one of those losses was to the Raiders once
(04:03):
again trying to figure this out, and that's one of
those where you go, man, the Raiders might be a little.
Speaker 3 (04:08):
Bit better than we thought.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Oh, Patriots aren't gonna be as good as we thought.
It's reactionary. It's week to week and you get some
of these teams that figure it out. They get healthy.
And I thought Tampa Bay getting Mike Evans back, they
got Bucky Ervian back.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
Okay, you should win this game.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
But in the NFC South, and I say this every
single year, it's the team that shouldn't win a game
wins the game. It's like the Saints against the Buccaneers
last week, I said they shouldn't win, but they will.
The Falcons they shouldn't win, but they will. And then
you look at the Falcons. The Falcons are really the
(04:47):
poster children of what could be and what really is.
Whenever you watch them, you go, Kyle Pitts, God, why
can't he do this all the time? B Jon Robinson?
Can he do this all the time? Because then you
watch them, they give it and then they take it away.
Kyle Pitts injured or doesn't play that well, Bjon Robinson fumbles,
(05:09):
you got the Michael Pennock situation. Now Kirk d Cousins
comes in and he played pretty well last night, certainly
in the first half.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
But you look at the Falcons are.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
Always going to be a mystery to me because it
feels like every year, I feel like, man, this could
be the year, and this could be the year. They're
kind of like my South version of the Chargers, like
this could be although the Chargers have been better than
the Falcons, but I.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
Hold out hope that maybe this is the year.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
And then you realize it's not the year, and it's
not revisionist history. When you look at the Falcons with
the Michael Pennox draft pick, because you had a guy
who got banged up when he was at Indiana and
then he went to Washington and he played really well
and you're playing in the playoffs, and the Falcons decide, Hey,
we brought in Kirk Cousins and we spent over one
(05:58):
hundred million dollars guaranteed, we can't pass up on this guy.
It's rare when you have a quarterback where you go,
I can't pass up on this guy. Because every year
we're seeing more and more quarterbacks that we go, oh,
Man Mendoza, right, can't pass up on him, Dante More
(06:22):
can't pass up on him?
Speaker 3 (06:24):
Well, you can.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
You just got to make sure you get the right
quarterback at the right time and you don't spend a
lot of draft capital to get him. But I'm still
puzzled by the Michael Pennox and maybe maybe he turns
out to be a quality quarterback. He's not better than
Kirk Cousins, but he is your future. But he's not
even able to play, and Cousins, I think, is under
(06:47):
contract for one more year. I just that one felt like,
oh my god, he's still on the board, Let's take him.
And that's what makes the Falcons puzzling, still waiting for
them to maybe get a really, really good defensive player,
because it seems like, what is it, John Abraham?
Speaker 3 (07:05):
Is that the last great defensive player?
Speaker 7 (07:08):
That deep cut by?
Speaker 2 (07:09):
I know because I always go, man, they could use
a couple of really good defensive players. But the offense
last night, you come back from fourteen down, you end
up winning it at the buzzer. I'll give credit, you know,
to the Falcons there, but I got to give a
lot of blame to the Buccaneers.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
You're at home? What are you doing? Come on? Yeah, Marvin,
that John Abraham reference was great.
Speaker 7 (07:33):
That was better than mine. I was gonna say, Cornelia's Bennett?
Speaker 3 (07:35):
Okay, I mean was that Corney Bennett after.
Speaker 7 (07:39):
The Colts or after the Bills?
Speaker 8 (07:43):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (07:43):
Bills? Didn't you go Bills and Colts? Yeah?
Speaker 7 (07:45):
He lost five Super Bowls?
Speaker 3 (07:48):
Has he lost more Super Bowls than anybody? Wow?
Speaker 7 (07:52):
Well, I think so.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
I didn't think we were going to talk about the
former Alabama linebacker Cornelius Bennett.
Speaker 7 (07:58):
Sorry Cornelis Yeah? All right?
Speaker 2 (08:00):
Eight seven seven three DP show operators sitting by. We'll
come up with the poll question here Army Navy on Saturday,
and Navy is favored I think by six and a half.
There is no updates here on Sharon More. He's going
to be in court today, but you're starting to hear
dribs and drabs, And I want to be fair to
the story because it's obviously very serious and it feels
(08:25):
like there is some reporting, but there's a lot of
it is just sort of salacious stuff, So I want
to be fair. I want to be careful with this. Also,
no decision on Philip Rivers' status. This is wishful reporting, right,
This is prime wishful reporting because nobody has anything that's definitive.
But you'll get the following. You know, Philip Rivers is
(08:48):
trending to start against Seattle.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
What does that mean? Is that a report?
Speaker 2 (08:53):
Then that's he's going to start, barring any setback. He's starting,
feels now. I would love for him to start. I'd
love for him to play, you know, no matter what happens,
and good or bad, it's an interesting story. It's a
story in a game that I wouldn't normally care about,
and now I do. Like Shadoor Sanders playing against the
(09:15):
Bears in Chicago against Caleb Williams, Miles Garrett trying to
you know, chase down the sacrec You know, I'm going
to care about that game a little bit more this
time of the year. You're looking for There was no
reason to watch last night. I mean, it was a
standalone game. It's the NFL, and you might have fantasy
or betting on the game, but you didn't tune in
(09:38):
to go, well, this is going to be a great
You probably thought, all right, Tampa's gonna win it twenty
seven seventeen, and then all right, we'll move on, and
then all of a sudden you get a great fourth quarter.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
It becomes must see TV.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
I'm always looking for what is the game or games
that I'm interested coming up this weekend, and sometimes that's
really hard. You know, Bill's in the paid awesome Jets
and Jags. No, unless the Jets play well here, which
maybe they do. They're thirteen and a half point underdogs,
(10:14):
Browns Bears. You know, the Ravens and the Bengals. The
Ravens are favored in Cincinnati after Cincinnati beat the Ravens
in Baltimore. Cardinals and the Texans know Chargers, Chiefs, Yes,
the Raiders against the Eagles. Can you imagine if the
Eagles would lose that game? Now, you can't say, no chance.
(10:35):
I mean the Raiders have one, well, they have two players,
Max Crosby and Rock Bowers.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
That's it right now.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
Oh my god, the sky would be falling if but
it already feels like it's falling in Philadelphia. Here it's
falling on the shoulders of Jalen Hurts. Here is the
Eagles quarterback on bouncing back.
Speaker 9 (10:55):
Success or greatness, those things aren't in ear You have,
you have your downs with some boy, you respond to it,
and I think about think about that. I mean, it's
nothing new that I haven't faced before. It's a matter
of responding to it. And I got a lot of
confidence how we respond. I've got a lot of confidence
how we'll go.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
Okay, it feels like everybody wants to blame somebody, and
I think there's blame to go around here. But I
can't have all of this fall on jail. Jalen Hurts
is the quarterback that I think we think he is.
During the regular season, put him in a big game.
He's been very good. He's been great. So I can't
(11:35):
go what the defense is figured out to allow him
to throw the ball more and they can't run the football. Okay,
it's that simple. Jalen Hurts is not going to beat
you from the pocket too many times if he's throwing
the ball over thirty times forty times. I got to
look at the coach and offensive coordinator the scheme of
(11:57):
what you're doing. Now, you have a luxury. They had
a luxury of a great offensive line. They could run
the football. Running the football sets up play action. You've
got two really good receivers, You've got a really good
tight end, and you even have a running back who
can catch the ball out of the backfield. So something
is missing there. And I would start with the offensive line.
(12:18):
But to put this on Jalen Hurts And all of
a sudden, go, coach, you thought about benching Jalen Hurts
and putting in Tanner, McGhee or McKee, doesn't matter, Like,
what are we doing?
Speaker 3 (12:36):
Where else would this happen?
Speaker 2 (12:38):
Somebody has a couple of Super Bowl appearances, wins the
Super Bowl as an MVP, and then all of a sudden,
you go, are you thinking of benching Patrick mahomes Hey?
Now this happened with Tom Brady. This might have been
twenty fifteen.
Speaker 6 (12:54):
You mean the year of falling off the cliff.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
Yeah, might have been the Max Kellerman Tom Brady falling
off the cliff. But somebody asked Belichick if he thought
about benching Brady and then putting in Jimmy Garoppolo. Uh,
I guess you have to ask the question. But I
mean I wouldn't I wouldn't recommend doing that. But that
(13:20):
seems like, are you really giving this great thought that
you're going to put in Tanner McKee over Jalen Hurts. Oh,
maybe you sit him down and let him what let
him want watch Tanner play?
Speaker 10 (13:36):
Yeah, the media replaced Tom Brady with seven different quarterbacks.
There was no more popular topic than going from the
hunky Tom Brady that to the hunky Jimmy Garoppolo. It
was like the most obvious switch in the world. Everybody
wanted that to happen. Yeah, probably except for Patriots fans.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
Some of the other games, Titans, Niners, No, you know,
Panther Saints. Here we go, NFC South Saints at home,
Rams Lions.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
That's that's juicy. Vikings Cowboys.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
Is interesting because we're still trying to figure out where
these teams are going to be headed for next year.
Seems like the Cowboys are in a pretty good position
here and the Vikings. Let me see JJ McCarthy do it.
Back to back weeks, the Dolphins at the Steelers, the
JJ Watt situation. JJ Watt goes in for TJ Watt
(14:30):
goes in for treatment and next thing you know, he's
in the hospital because he's got something going on with
his lung and he didn't go in for treatment for
something in his lungs. I have no update on that.
I haven't seen anything, but that's kind of strange. Was
it a Tyrod Taylor? Didn't he get a punctured lung?
(14:51):
He got a shot before a game and then Justin
Herbert had to come in and play and never look back. Yes,
Tom's like.
Speaker 7 (14:57):
The Twelfth Man. Your own doctor is going against it.
Speaker 3 (14:59):
You got a bit the other t your own medicals
there allegedly, Todd.
Speaker 7 (15:04):
But he's a lung shot that he's gonna be able
to play.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
That's what That's a nice starts.
Speaker 3 (15:12):
I'm just gonna throw in a jeth throw Tall aqua lung,
but you know that probably bench his nose.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
Jethrow Tall did have a couple of bangers as we
like to say, there were a couple of out.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
The rare flute laden and banger in tights.
Speaker 11 (15:34):
There's not there's not often, yeah, that you can see
the little Robin Hood dude comes out.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
I know, do this, you know it's like Peter Pan.
Speaker 12 (15:45):
He comes out, swirling out into the middle of the
stage of this flute.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
Yeah, mosh pit. I never saw Jethrow there's still touring.
I think I never saw Jethrow Tall. Didn't they give
us Thick as a Brick and Aqualung That are two
of the two of the great albums rock albums of
all time.
Speaker 3 (16:11):
Yes, Paul.
Speaker 6 (16:11):
When I was a kid and I heard about Jethrow Tall.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
They was running down his nose.
Speaker 6 (16:17):
They would say, like they're on tour, Like, isn't it
He's on tour. I always thought Jethro Tall, it sounds
like eleven with a person.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
No, because it's Ian Anderson. Is Jethrow Tall?
Speaker 6 (16:26):
Very confusing?
Speaker 2 (16:27):
Yeah, the band is Jethro Tall. Okay, it's a Friday. Okay,
let's take a break here. We're gonna settle on our
poll question.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
Dead Patrick, Shut the hell up.
Speaker 2 (16:41):

All right, Seaton Pole. Question for the first hour of
this program is going to be.
Speaker 12 (17:37):
The most accurate way to describe last night's game in
the NFL. Is the Falcons won or the Buccaneers lost?
That old question. Yes, I'm technically they each did exactly that.
The Falcons won, the Buccaneers lost, But how would you
describe the game.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
I would say that the Buccaneers lost that game. There
was a play where there's I think four Tampa Bay
Buckers around the ball.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
And Atlanta ended up recovering the ball. I get it.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
You know, if you look at it, you go, oh,
which player from Tampa recovered this fumble? Baker Mayfield throws
a terrible interception, like they had moments where they would
have won the game. Recover the ball. Don't throw an interception?
What was it second in twenty eight? Is that what
the yardage was? And they ended up getting the first down.
(18:30):
Kirk Cousins got sacked, there was a offside and you know,
there's just all of these different things where you go, Tampa,
don't you realize what's happening. You're going to lose this game.
I think that you have to have that team collapse
for the other team to be able to come back
and win those games. And look, Atlanta did it statistically
(18:51):
almost impossible, I think in their history. This is the
first time in let me see, yeah, Paulie.
Speaker 6 (18:59):
The Falcons had eighteen penalties against them. They actually had
twenty one called. A couple were turned down. It was
It was brutal and they end up winning that one.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
The Falcons were oh one, thirty two and one in
their last one hundred and thirty three games when trailing
by fourteen or more points in the fourth quarter prior
to last night. Their last win when trailing by fourteen
or more in the fourth quarter was back in nineteen
eighty three. That brought you by panned America, the official
(19:35):
trading cards of the program. Kirk Cousins throw throws for
three seventy three and three touchdowns. Kyle Pitts had eleven
catches in three touchdowns. Vijean Robinson had ninety three yards
rushing in a touchdown, and he had eighty two yards receiving. Like,
these are great numbers, but this is what we've come
(19:55):
to expect with the Falcons, or we want to expect
with the Falcons. And then how about Mike Evans six
catches one p thirty two coming back from that broken clavicle.
But now down the stretch, now I'm rooting for Carolina.
You know what, Tampa, you screwed around. Carolina is a
good story and the winner of those games now they
(20:18):
play each other twice. I love that, But you know,
the Panthers Saints game is a must win situation. I mean,
Carolina can't goof around here with New Orleans. You know
he can't shuck around and you're gonna find out, yeah, PAULI.
Speaker 6 (20:33):
The NFC South, all four teams have been outscored by
a lot this season. The Panthers have been outscored by
fifty points. They're in first place. The Bucks have been
outscored by twenty seven, Falcons outscored by sixty in the
Saints by one oh nine. The other division, that's like that. Shockingly,
the AFC North, all for of their teams have been
outscored this year by the opponent.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
Patrick and North Carolina leads us off. Hi, Patrick, what's
on your mind?
Speaker 13 (20:56):
Good morning DC, Happy meet Friday and the BRGS.
Speaker 14 (21:02):
Listen.
Speaker 13 (21:03):
I was hearing you talking about important games coming up
this weekend, and when I went to bed last night,
Tampa Bay was winning, and I was like, Okay, we've
got to win this weekend now. With Tampa Bay loves it.
This next two weeks, it's temblical for our Panthers if
we can go to go to the Saints, which I
believe we win after they came up here and shucked
(21:24):
up at home. I think we're gonna go down there
and do a little shucking ourselves, then come back next
week and win at least one of two games this
Tampa Bay.
Speaker 15 (21:36):
I have to say it.
Speaker 13 (21:37):
I can't believe it, but my Carolina Practis could be
division winners this year and that would be a great
success with couch canals.
Speaker 2 (21:44):
Well, good luck, Patrick, good luck Al in Atlanta. Ow
how about your Falcons.
Speaker 15 (21:52):
I wouldn't know, Dan, because oh, by the way, good
morning man, good luck. I wouldn't know because yesterday Thursday
is there a gym with my family and we have
a late dinner. So we came home about eight o'clock.
Speaker 8 (22:05):
Right in the game.
Speaker 15 (22:05):
I was starting, you know, put it on while dinner
is being cooked, and then was forced to turn it
off while we ate dinner. And then after dinner, when
I turned it back on, my family was like, yeah, no,
this is this too stressful. We can't watch this, Like,
we can't watch you sit there and be in turmoil.
Speaker 3 (22:22):
For the entire game.
Speaker 15 (22:23):
So they made me turn the game off. Dan, they
made me turn the game off. I found out what
happened with my friend from Norwich, England, who was only
an American football fan because I introduced him to it,
called me at midnight while he was going to work
to tell me, oh, just see that great comeback. No,
I didn't get to see that great comeback because my
(22:44):
family made me miss something that the Falcons haven't done
my entire lifetime.
Speaker 3 (22:50):
I'd get a new family if I read yeah, yeah,
like what's going on now as child abuse?
Speaker 2 (22:56):
Well, congratulations on that big win by your Falcons. You
didn't get to see Tim and Albany. Hi, Tim, what's
on your mind today?
Speaker 3 (23:05):
Hey Danan, good morning.
Speaker 16 (23:07):
I'm just sick.
Speaker 14 (23:08):
I mean I've been a Tampa fan.
Speaker 4 (23:10):
Since I was a young lad, probably about eleven years old,
and just sick at what I saw last night. This
is not this is not a defense that deserves to
be in the playoffs. I mean, they just they've completely
sold out. They completely have sold out on the offensive
side of the ball, and this defense could just get
(23:31):
torched game after game after game. They have no pass
rush or forced the blitz, and it leaves the secondary vulnerable.
I thought the New Orleans loss was bad, but what
I saw last night, it really should.
Speaker 14 (23:44):
Have been a lot worse. For all the penalties that
the Falcons had And the last thing I'll say is,
you know, all my friends love Baker Mayfield. Everybody loves
Baker Mayfield, the moxie, the gritty had Did you love
him last night when he was throwing a pick in
the fourth quarter? And hey, you know it's uh so
he give us and he take us away and uh
(24:05):
thanks Jan.
Speaker 3 (24:05):
All right, thank you to thank you for going up.
Speaker 11 (24:08):
May you have them backed up to third and twenty eight? Yeah,
and you can't. You can't figure that out. I don't
blame Mike Evans for being pissed. Even if Baker Mayfield, right,
he has to he can't throw that interception. There's like
a minute left in the game, and you've got them
backed up like that. Good grief, Vince in Austin, Hi, Vince,
what's on your mind today?
Speaker 16 (24:30):
Hey?
Speaker 17 (24:30):
Good morning, Dan, Happy Friday, guys, gentlemen, Chritsie, Dan poking
fun at you yesterday. Julie Andrews was your childhood crush
or one of your first crushes?
Speaker 3 (24:39):
Yeah?
Speaker 17 (24:40):
Are you familiar with the eighties movie? Her producer at
the time, Break Edwards?
Speaker 3 (24:45):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
Speaker 18 (24:49):
After that she became one of my first pressures too.
Speaker 2 (24:54):
I prefer to see Julie Andrews in the light of
Sound of Music or Mary Poppin'. I'm very respectful you,
vince or pervert. All right, thank you for calling in.
Joseph in Missouri, Hi Joe, what's on your mind?
Speaker 18 (25:11):
Oh, good morning, Dan, long time, first time, five ten,
one eighty. I just want to key in, thank you.
I would just want to key in that. To me,
the two best albums of Jethro Tuller benefit can stand
up the first two. I heard her first in San
Francisco in nineteen sixty six.
Speaker 2 (25:32):
Okay, but Aqua Lung and Thick as a Brick are
pretty good albums too.
Speaker 18 (25:37):
Oh oh, they're pretty Yeah, they're pretty good albums and
they became that. They're famous for that. But the first two,
as far as musical technicalities and all that, I love
them the most.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
All right, Well, thank you, Joe. Yeah, I wasn't around
to listen to Jethro tell then. I think it was
in the seventies when I was listening to Jethrow Teal
Zach in Minnesota, Hi, Zach, what's on your mind today?
Speaker 16 (26:01):
Well, good morning, Dan. Thankshay McCall.
Speaker 3 (26:03):
Happy Friday to everybody.
Speaker 19 (26:05):
I'm just calling in regards to Shaquille O'Neil got a
question that hopefully you could ask him, which did he
which does he have more pressure to prepare in performing
alongside of Was it Kobe Bryant? Was it Steve Nash?
Or will it be T Pain? When Shack performs under
his moniker DJ Diesel alongside T Pain this summer?
Speaker 3 (26:23):
Thanks for the call, begin all right, Well, thank you, Zach.
Speaker 2 (26:26):
Yeah, Shack has a big party, is super Bowl party.
He'll join us a little bit later on. T Pain
will be part of that. And Tiesto. I believe Tiesto
is he a DJ? I believe Tiesto is.
Speaker 3 (26:39):
He a DJ?
Speaker 7 (26:40):
He is?
Speaker 3 (26:40):
Okay, he's probably Steve, Yeah, but he's probably very popular.
He's probably I think he's been around for a little while. Yes,
he's a big deal. Yeah yeah.
Speaker 2 (26:50):
Is Scrillac still DJing? Wasn't he a big deal for
a while?
Speaker 12 (26:54):
Scrile X was a big deal for a while. That's
sort of dubstep.
Speaker 11 (26:58):
Oh thing had a little bit of a little bit
of a flash in the pan.
Speaker 12 (27:01):
It's not as hot these days. Okay, I don't know
who the he seemed like it anyway. Well, there's DJ
Collod like, is he a different type of DJ? Yeah,
he not a DJ. We don't know what he does,
more of like a producer DJ okay, Yeah, yes.
Speaker 6 (27:20):
I'm looking at net Worth career salaries of DJs. I
know a few of these gentlemen. There's a gentleman named
Calvin Harris. They estimate he's made three hundred million dollars
in his career. He used to date Taylor Swift, tiasto
your boy or about two hundred million networth. Very nice
at you and.
Speaker 2 (27:39):
Who would have thought you just go when you play music,
then you make a lot of money.
Speaker 3 (27:44):
People hire you just to do that. Let's see, uh
waddle in North Carolina.
Speaker 16 (27:51):
Hey Waddle, Hey Dan, thanks for taking my call. I
just want to weigh on real quick. Most most swing
game of the weekend gotta be the Carolina Panthers, simply
to the fact, Uh, I travel with my work and
I don't get to see a lot of Panthers games,
but I did get to go watch them play against
(28:12):
the Saints, and earlier this year is the week after
you know, we just beat Green Bay. I'm riding high
and stuff and we're I'm sitting in the suite enjoying
a nice beer, having having some food, and I'm sitting
there watching our team just lay an egg. So just
just for them to just not so much because of
the Buccaneers.
Speaker 20 (28:33):
Losing, but I just want them to just take it
out on the Saints, just be because of the sour
grist sour taste I have.
Speaker 16 (28:39):
In my mouth. Speaking of sour taste.
Speaker 20 (28:42):
Also wanted to commend you guys on your menu. Never never,
once I wanted to get in my car at nine
o'clock in the morning, drive all the way up to
Connecticut just to try some smoke samon BLT.
Speaker 16 (28:55):
Do you guys enjoy have a great weekend?
Speaker 3 (28:57):

Let's see Matt and Salt Lake City. Hi Matt, what's
on your mind today?
Speaker 8 (29:18):
Hey Dan, thanks for taking my call. Two quick thoughts.
With all these great interviews that you've had with and
the compliments that you've received, I see the possibility if
well edited when submitted to the Sports Zimmis. All these
compliments you received from professionals in the business and those
(29:40):
who felt comfortable coming onto your show man all those compliments.
Well edited, I think he got the Sports inmy wrapped
up this next year and then too because of the
quality of these interviews. Could we have the iteam look
into your contract to see if it if it activates
any clause to extend the retirement by a year.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
Well, if I win an Emmy, do we activate an
extra year? Is that what you're saying, Well, MAT's gone. Yeah, yeah,
I don't think there's any language in my contract that
says if we win the Sports Emmy, then I have
to do another year.
Speaker 3 (30:14):
Yes, yes, I think that makes sense.
Speaker 7 (30:15):
You got to try to go back to back and
then if you win two, you got to go back
to back to back. There are records to be broken here.
You can't just go out on top. That's the easy way.
Are You got to put that you can do it
again and it wasn't a fluke.
Speaker 3 (30:25):
I don't want to be Travis Kelcey.
Speaker 7 (30:26):
I understand, but it's to show that it's not a
flu you got to go to try for it too. Straight.
Speaker 2 (30:29):
I want to be John Elway. You can you can
understand that it doesn't. Do you want me to be
Elway or Travis Kelcey.
Speaker 7 (30:36):
There's only one l Way. I think you need to
keep going and keep winning as many as you can
in a row. He didn't, He didn't, La couldn't he
but there was there was like health reasons. But you're
you're doing five.
Speaker 3 (30:45):
No, I'm not.
Speaker 2 (30:46):
You couldn't strap throat and bronchitis. Recently got the hairs.
Speaker 7 (30:51):
I understand that.
Speaker 3 (30:54):
Todd I nearly died the last three weeks.
Speaker 7 (30:56):
Every other question you ask if a guest to say,
that's a great question there, and they're still doing that
to this say, sir, you've got plenty to go.
Speaker 2 (31:02):
But I never say that to you that that's a
great question that may never happen. Let's see Kevin in Nashville. Hi, Kevin,
what's on your mind?
Speaker 14 (31:16):
Dan?
Speaker 16 (31:16):
A first time caller?

that's all. I'm glad you told me about it. I'm
not knocking skrill X. I didn't know if he was
still on his game and he was a big deal.
I knew we had a bad haircut and uh, I
had some big glasses there. But thank you for setting
(32:05):
