not going to be playing, but he'll join us, and
former Charger Pro Bowl quarterback Philip Rivers will stop by

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Good morning.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
If you're watching on Peacock, thank you for downloading the app.
Stat of the Day is always brought to you by
Benedi America. The official trading cards of The Dan Patrick Show.
First Hour brought to you by Tyroll. That's the first
shoe built just for pickleball, and they are awesome. Tyrol.
Remember the name Play Longer, move quicker, and at least

(01:06):
look like a pro at tyrolpickleball dot Com Play of
the Day poll question stat of the Day all of
that forthcoming. The baseball trade deadline will come and go tonight.
The Mariners made a little bit of a move. They
snagged Johano Sworez from the Diamondbacks. As Mario says, it

(01:27):
pays to have somebody on staff who speaks Spanish, so
he gave me the official pronunciation of you Hano Sworez.
This is a guy who's kind of like cal Rawley.
He hits home runs. I think that might be all
he does is hit home runs. But he's going back
to Seattle where he had a stop prior to this,

(01:47):
you Haino Sworez. A lot of middle relief pitchers were
exchanged as well. Hall of Fame Game Chargers and the Lions.
And yes I do have the points spread courtesy of DraftKings,
and yes I used to bet on the Hall of
Fame Game Chargers are getting one and a half. The

(02:08):
over under is thirty two and a half. We got
football and Trey Lance is going to be playing tonight.
Hendon Hooker is going to be playing tonight. DJ huy Unga.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
La lay l l lay lelay is going to be
playing tonight. Who is it better than we do? No money,
but buddy.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Marvin's college game day. It should be yeah, like four
years ago. This is five years ago. Be like, hey,
Trey Lance going against Hendon Hooker, All right, do we?
DJ Wayung Lalay is going to be also playing as well.
But that'll be tonight on NBC and Peacock. I think
festivities get underway around seven o'clock. And what happens at

(02:54):
the Hall of Fame game, it's usually, Hey, there's a
Hall of Famer, let's bring him into the booth. I
know Brett Musburger is going to be in the booth
with NBC tonight, and Brent is going into the Hall
of Fame. Eric Allen, Jared Allen, Antonio Gates, Sterling Sharp
all going into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. And
you got Shannon Sharp, Sterling Sharp. I believe they are

(03:17):
the first set of brothers to go into the Pro
Football Hall of Fame. Felt bad for Sterling with everything
going on with Shannon Sharp being let go from ESPN.
This is Sterling's moment here, and he had a window
there five years where you could make the case he
was the best receiver in football. Had the neck injury

(03:37):
and cut short his career, but he was a great player.
Antonio Gates basketball player who became a tight end now
became a Hall of Famer. Jared Allen. All he did
is sack You do you have one hundred and forty
five sacks. Eric Allen, great defensive back as well. And
our good buddy Brent Musburger going in with the Pete

(03:58):
Roselle Award with a member of the media, and it's great.
I'm very, very happy that Brent is being recognized and
having that opportunity, and he'll be there and he'll tell
stories and that's what people are going to eat up.
CC Sabathia fresh from going into Cooperstown. He was one
of the first athletes in baseball who wore the Jordan brand.

(04:21):
And at the at the Baseball Hall of Fame, you
had Patrick Ewing there, Derek Jeter, Michael Jordan with CC Sabathia,
and I just remember seeing Sabathia. Now, this is when
CC was built more like Charles Oakley. He's since lost
a lot of weight, but around the same height as
Michael Jordan.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Sometimes when you.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Take a guy out of their sport, like when Luka
Doncic was there with Aaron Judge, you're like Aaron Judge,
pretty big guy, but in the NBA, he wouldn't be
like Luca is a guard and he's six six sixty seven,
Aaron Judge, he's like, man, is he big? But in
a different like if Yao Ming came on to a

(05:04):
baseball field and stood next to I don't know, throw
out anybody, Aaron Judge, you'd be like, damn, Aaron Judge
is small compared to Yao. Yao Ming might be the
biggest guy on the planet. When he stands next to Shaq,
he can make Shaq look small and that's no easy
task there, Yes, Marvin.

Speaker 4 (05:25):
Yeah, the NBA, they're full of genetic lottery winners. It's
funny when you have guys that are six eight six
six six five and then they have the nerve to
call it small ball.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
By the way, I have the preseason rookie passing yards leader.
Who will be leading in passing yards among rookies this
according to DraftKings. Do you guys want to take a guess?
I love this stuff because I love watching. You know,

(05:56):
when you have preseason football.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Paulie, I'll start with you.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
This quarterback will have well, actually, there's two quarterbacks who
are the front runners to lead in passing yards in
the preseason.

Speaker 5 (06:10):
Oh, preseason, Yes, Marvin Jackson Dart bloop.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
Now there's one more tied with Jackson Dart best odds
preseason rookie passing yards leader, Seatan cam Ward. No, Paul
Tyler suck, No, that sucks. He's uh, he's second on

(06:41):
the list, though, Todd, you got somebody, how.

Speaker 6 (06:45):
About Jalen Milroe, Jackson Dart, Jalen Milroe best odds to
lead preseason passing yards Tyler Shuck cam Ward.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
And then it goes down to should Or Sanders, Riley Leonard,
Dylan Gabriel, and Will Howard. Should Or Sanders and Dylan
Gabriel have the same odds to lead the preseason rookie
passing yards.

Speaker 5 (07:14):
Yes, Paul, I think I picked Jalen Milroe to lead
everybody in rushing as well, quarterbacks and running nights.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
Yeah, probably so out of that group. All right, so
we're ready preseason football. Paulie likened this too. You know,
you take one of those long trips, you know you're
with the kids, you know you have to pull over,
got to go to the bathroom, you know, got can.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
We get something to eat? Are we almost there?

Speaker 2 (07:39):
That was the feeling from probably May, June and July, like,
are we almost there? We finally got off the exit
ramp and now we have football. We made it, we
made it. It was a long trip, but we made it.
Even though it's just preseason football.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
I'm happy. I'm good.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
And you have the Hall of Fame Class of twenty
twenty five as well. All righty Seaton, let's poll question
for hour one of this award nominated program. Here's one
from Marvin.

Speaker 7 (08:10):
What will your wife's reaction be if she sees football,
assuming she's not a football.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
Fan, Probably just surprised. Probably just oh, I didn't know
they started already. And then I'll say it's pre season.
But you know, that's usually the conversation with it. It's like, oh,
they've already started. Because she did catch me watching NFL

(08:37):
Network postseason game from last year. Catch you, Yes, she did,
because she wanted me to watch a show and I said,
you know, I'm gonna watch there's a game on. And
then that's when she busted me for she goes, is
this live? And I go, no, it's from last year,

(08:58):
So you know the outcome and I go, yes, but
I and then I'm like Okay, how far down the
rabbit hole do I go? I said, you know, it's
just research, you know, for tomorrow's show, and she goes, okay, yeah, Pauline.

Speaker 5 (09:11):
But compared to the average bro out there, you do
this for a living and you can use that as
your hook. I would say this, here's the PSA for tonight.
Have the Hall of Fame game on, but appear to
be doing other things in your house, maybe tidying something
up and kind of keeping it on in the game. I
don't think you could sit for three hours and watch
a Hall of Fame game on interrupted.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
You can? You can?

Speaker 8 (09:33):
I min can you? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (09:37):
Because they're going to sprinkle in other things. It's not
really about the game. It's about the Hall of Fame,
about the weekend there, and then if you have the
members of the Hall of Fame class, maybe you have
some other players Hall of Famers who are going to
be there as well, you kind of sprinkle them inn.
I'd say that would probably be the game plan for
ENDBC tonight with Mike Trico and Chris Allsworth any other

(10:01):
pole questions that were considering start out Seaton. All right,
this one's from paul The easiest Hall of Fame to
get in baseball, basketball, football, basketball, Yeah, basketball, yep, they
taking anybody these days. Is Dino Rajah in the basketball

(10:24):
Hall of Fame?

Speaker 8 (10:24):
Yes?

Speaker 9 (10:25):
Is he?

Speaker 3 (10:26):
I think he is?

Speaker 2 (10:27):
Right?

Speaker 8 (10:27):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (10:27):
Okay, because of his European career, correct, and not the
Celtics career. Remember he was the European Larry Bird. When
he came over, I just said, no, he's he's he's European.
That's it. Let's stop right there. You know he's the
European Larry Bird. No, no, no, he's not. He's just European. Yes, Mark,

(10:47):
We had.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
A guest on in Lake Tahoe and he talked about
somebody getting into the basketball Hall of Fame. When you
brought up Christian Latoner, Yeah, not getting to the Hall
of Fame. And he was like, you know they let
so and so in so why not like Christian Laitner.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
Christian Lightner should be in the basketball Hall of Fame.
This isn't some charity thing.

Speaker 8 (11:07):
He's in the college basketball Hall of Fame though.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Yeah, but it's called the basketball Hall of Fame. It's
not you know, the NFL has the NFL Hall of Fame.
It's not the football Hall of Fame. Christian Latner should
be in Springfield, Massachusetts at the Basketball Hall of Fame.
He's one of the five greatest college basketball players as
far as resume goes, of all time.

Speaker 8 (11:31):
Yes, Mark, So don't mention his NBA career at all.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
He had a serviceable, slash good NBA career. I mean,
he played fifteen years in the NBA, I think so
did he live up to the billing? Pete Merivich didn't
have a great NBA career if you compared to what
he did in college. I mean, Rick mount was one

(11:55):
of the greatest shooters in the history of college basketball.
His career, you know, it paled in comparison to what
he did in college. I mean there's a lot Tyler Hansbrough.
Does Tyler Hansbrough get into the Basketball Hall of Fame
before Christian Layightner, no topic, But he's the all time
I think he's still the all time scoring leader in

(12:17):
the history of the ACC. Yes, Mark, And that's why
they have a college basketball Okay, Christian Laightner should be
in the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Speaker 3 (12:24):
Okay, he should be. Okay, all right, I'm.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
Just saying it's easier to get into the Basketball Hall
of Fame. It is, yes, yes, yes, Coach k.

Speaker 5 (12:34):
Is in the Basketball Hall of Fame for his duke
career and his international coaching.

Speaker 8 (12:39):
Correct.

Speaker 5 (12:39):
Yeah, that's Christian Layner his college career and he was
on the Dream Team.

Speaker 10 (12:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
There's no argument against Christian Layner going into the Basketball
Hall of Fame in my opinion. I mean, I don't
know why, you know, they have a problem with that.
But I'm trying to get Sonny Vacaro into the Basketball
Hall of Fame. I'll work on that and then I'll
work on Christian Latner. I'm only one person. There's only
so much I can do. I'm still exhausted from getting

(13:07):
foreigner into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
Yes, Martin Ralph Sampson's in, So you know what, go ahead,
you put Chrish Leiner.

Speaker 10 (13:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
So Christian Latner played thirteen years for six different teams.
He was he was on the All Rookie team, and
he played in one All Star Game.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
It's not a bad NBA career, not at all. I
mean it's not.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
Al Horford is going to be in the Basketball Hall
of Fame.

Speaker 8 (13:31):
Correct.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
He won two titles at Florida and then he won
a title with the Celtics. He might still, he might
play again next year. I don't know how many years
he's played, but he's probably got fifteen years, it feels like.
But he's going into the Basketball Hall of Fame. Does
Joe Kim Noah go into the basketball Hall of Fame?

Speaker 8 (13:52):
No?

Speaker 3 (13:54):
Okay No? Then he win two titles at Florida?

Speaker 8 (13:57):
Correct?

Speaker 2 (13:58):
And was do you have a better pro career than
Christian Latner?

Speaker 3 (14:05):
I guess, I know. I'm just throwing that out there. Yeah,
just throwing it out there, just saying yeah, just saying.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
I wouldn't want to be the gatekeeper when it comes
to these Halls of Fame. I would not. It's a
thankless job. I remember I would talk. I would see
Peter King, and I would see him after they had
you know, the forty five writers, and they sit around
and spend hours discussing, arguing, yelling about who should get

(14:35):
in or not get in. And Pete looked like he
just you know, went through labor that he just gave
birth to, you know, a Hall of Fame class and
be like just and no matter what you did, you
were going to upset somebody. Somebody was going to be
or a few people are going to be mad that
they didn't get into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
Yes, Paul.

Speaker 5 (14:56):
Here's a couple more examples why it's not fair to Lightner.
Bill so Off of Kansas is in the Basketball Hall
of Fame all for his college coaching career. Never coached
in the pros two titles in college. I think that's
the same as Latner. Correct, and he went right into
the Basketball Hall of Fame. Here's another one. Tony Kuk coach,
never made an All Star team in the NBA, so
most of his Basketball Hall of Fame case is his

(15:18):
international play separate from the NBA, like Latner's is separate
from the NBA, and their careers are kind of similar.
They're both good NBA players, so it feels like it's
a likability thing for Laightner.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
Do you think it counts down?

Speaker 5 (15:33):
Really, I'm surprised, you guys are surprised. I've been thinking
about it. I can't think of another reason why one
of the most successful college basketball players in our history
is not in the Basketball Hall of Fame. Bill self
very good college coach. He's not the top three college
coaches of all time or top five and he went
right in during his career.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
Yeah, I got a problem with that.

Speaker 5 (15:54):
Yeah, And Tony Kuk Coach, he was a nice NBA player.
I don't see him ever making an All Star team.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
I didn't know he didn't make an All Star team.

Speaker 5 (16:01):
But he had a nice career, like Laitner had a
nice NBA career. He set his bar too high with
college and he doesn't get credit for setting that bar
so high.

Speaker 6 (16:09):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
Ku Coach was a better NBA player than Christian, Yeah, probably,
but yeah, I And look, I'm not friends with Christian.
I don't know speak to him on a regular basis.
I just I see an injustice and I speak up.

Speaker 5 (16:25):
And so yeah, point, well, let's say someone like Latner
instead of going to some terrible teams somehow was the
sixth man of the Bulls during their second run, like
like Kuk Coach was for the Bulls. He slides in
because of Alwa's got He picked up three more rings
by being eleven points off the bench for that ball?

Speaker 3 (16:41):
Is Ron Harper in the Basketball Hall of Fame? He
is not okay?

Speaker 2 (16:47):
And I mean, I'm just curious about some of these
players that we talked about. The Hull of very Good,
and he might be in the Hall of Very Good.
But Latner just based off his college career. Now, if
you want to say NBA, then no, if there was
an NBA Hall of Fame, no he shouldn't be in.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
But it's the Basketball Hall of Fame. Why are you
getting me?

Speaker 9 (17:07):
Round?

Speaker 2 (17:07):
On?

Speaker 3 (17:07):
Come on, come on, it's a Thursday.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
We're happy. Fritzie's got his Denver Bronco fun t shirt.

Speaker 8 (17:14):
On, Oh Bronco. We're polls back.

Speaker 3 (17:18):
Nobody knows the mafia like Fritzie.

Speaker 5 (17:20):
Does it sign I'm the third base coach.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
No, that's my job. Nobody knows it like he does.
Let's take a break here. We're gonna settle on a
poll question. Morale is hi today? Great day. We're back
after this and The Dan Patrick Show.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
Be sure to catch the live edition of The Dan
Patrick Show weekdays at nine am Eastern six am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio.

Speaker 11 (17:52):
Wapp Hey, We're Cavino and Rich Fox Sports Radio every
day five to seven pm Eastern. But here's the thing,
we never have enough time to get to everything we
want to get to.

Speaker 12 (18:01):
And that's why we have a brand new podcast called
Over promised. You see, we're having so much fun in
our two hour show. We never get to everything, honestly,
because this guy is over promising things we never have
time for.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
Yeah, you blubber lit in me.

Speaker 11 (18:16):
Well you know what it's called over promise. You should
be good at it because you've been over promising women
for years.

Speaker 12 (18:20):
Well, it's a Covino and Rich after show, and we
want you to be a part of it. We're gonna
be talking sports, of course, but we're also gonna talk
life and relationships. And if Rich and I are arguing
about something or we didn't have enough time, it will
continue on our after show called over Promised.

Speaker 11 (18:34):
Well, if you don't get enough Covino and Rich, make
sure you check out over Promised and also uncensored, by
the way, so maybe we'll go at it even a
little harder. It's gonna be the best after show podcast
of all time.

Speaker 12 (18:44):
There you go, over Promising, and remember you could see
on YouTube, but definitely join us. Listen Over Promised with
Covino and Rich on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts or
wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 2 (18:56):
We'll settle on a poll question at least for the
first hour or here not to he smirch Tony Kukoach.
He did win three championships with the Bulls, sixth Man
of the Year, he won the EuroLeague Championship three times,
EuroLeague Final four, MVP three times. He got in because
of his basketball outside the NBA.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
But I'm fine with that.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
Basketball is more lenient because we look, I think when
you're combining college and the NBA, and when you're talking
about international play as well, So there's a lot of things,
a lot of mitigating factors that you can put it
all together and go that's a pretty good resume. Eight
seven seven three DP show email address Dpadanpatrick dot com,

(19:41):
Twitter handle a DP show Scott in Illinois, Hi Scott,
what's on your mind today?

Speaker 3 (19:48):
Hey Scott Scott?

Speaker 13 (19:53):
I'm here, Dan okay. I'm sorry about that, Scott Scott,
and I'm six p eleven because no one's ever seven
foot tall? Remember that show?

Speaker 3 (20:03):
What do you got for me?

Speaker 13 (20:04):
Scott Okay? I am the commissioner for a new online
hall of fame called the Hall of Pretty Darn Good.
We started this in two pouts during quarantine because we
noticed that there was a gap between the average and
the very and the hall of fame. The Hall of
fame is for the story, but there are people who
are important to the store. Okay, obviously you know Drew

(20:30):
Bledsoe Hall of pretty darn good, very good career, not
Hall of Fame. In basketball, you mentioned mister Noah. He
is the Chicago Bulls nominee for us. We try to
have every team have a nominee, and every six months
we elect one, we eliminate one, we go back pretty

(20:50):
far otis bird Song for example, pre nineteen fifties, and
we try for every team we go. You've mentioned a
lot of people that we've looked at. We try very
hard for ABA players because they didn't get the TV
time in the seventies.

Speaker 2 (21:10):
All right, well, thank you, Scott, and good luck with
that venture. Yeah, we have the Hall of very Good
that we've done for a long time.

Speaker 5 (21:19):
Yes, Paul, and he appears to have the Hall of
pretty darn good, which I don't. We didn't have to
put the word darn in there and start offending being
I think whichever one of us goes brick and mortar first, really,
will you know?

Speaker 2 (21:30):
We can share?

Speaker 3 (21:30):
We can share.

Speaker 2 (21:31):
There's enough space for the Hall of pretty darn Good
in the Hall of Very Good.

Speaker 3 (21:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
See, I think the Hall of Very Good is significantly
higher than the Hall of pretty darn Good in my opinion, Yes,
significantly higher. But I don't want to be petty with
Scott because he's got something that's he's started and probably
feels passion.

Speaker 7 (21:51):
It's like if you're like, hey, you know what that
Trey Lance, he was pretty darn good. I mean it
didn't work out, but he was pretty darn good. I
think Scott's is pretty darn good. I think my idea
is very good. And there's the difference, yes, Paul.

Speaker 5 (22:08):
I also love that we've interviewed athletes and talked about
the Hall of Very Good in their place in it.
Like Jamal Crawford goes, I would be honored.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
Yeah, and we should have an induction ceremony. Well you
could host yeah, yeah, like have a weekend, invite them
here and have the Hall of Very Good. I mentioned
the picture with Patrick Ewing, CC Sabbathia Jordan, and that
was Derrek Cheeters Hall of Fame induction. So I don't

(22:35):
think Michael Jordan was there for CC Sabathia or Patrick Ewing,
but I could be wrong, yes, Marvin.

Speaker 4 (22:42):
But Michael Jordan did give CC Sabbathia some very nice
air Jordan's that he wore during the ceremony.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
Usually, when you talk about somebody's Hall of Fame speech,
you're like, oh, well you know the speech.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
Marvin's like, man, did you see the shoes he had on?

Speaker 8 (22:56):
I go.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
No, oh, he goes had a pair or you know
these dose Jordans.

Speaker 4 (23:03):
And I was like, oh, okay, well you're thanking his
high school coach and thinking his pastor.

Speaker 8 (23:06):
Okay, whatever the.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
Issue, I'll ask him about those air Jordan's.

Speaker 8 (23:12):
Is he selling them?

Speaker 2 (23:13):
Yeah? Let me see Michael in Buffalo. Michael, good morning.
What's on your mind?

Speaker 14 (23:21):
More than then? H five nine, rock solid one seventy Uh.
I'm waiting on the NCAA to give me a hardship
waiver to play football. I will be a sixty one
in all right now, I'm sixty one and a half,
but I'm in a really good shape. I want to

(23:43):
play for the University of Buffalo, Buffalo State. I should
say Bengals.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
Okay, what position are you going to play?

Speaker 14 (23:51):
I am a running back.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
And you're sixty one years of age.

Speaker 14 (23:56):
Well, yeah, apparently there's two sixty one year old kickers.
They tried them out there, they kicked an extra point.
You know that's great? Well, what I want to actually play? Play?

Speaker 3 (24:07):
Do you have to attend Buffalo State? Michael?

Speaker 14 (24:10):
Yeah, I am actually i am football of state class
at twenty three and I'm going back to get my
journalism degree.

Speaker 3 (24:20):
Okay, what's your forty yard dashtime?

Speaker 14 (24:24):
Now that's the issue. I'm keeps telling me, well, can
you be able to take the hits? And I'm not
worried about getting a hit. I'm just wondering about my speed.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
I am too, Michael, do you have any speed?

Speaker 14 (24:40):
You know what? I got molds? I got molds.

age and looking to try out for Buffalo State Bengals.

Speaker 3 (24:57):
All right, yeah, Paul, that.

Speaker 5 (24:59):

that age.

Speaker 3 (25:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (25:04):

House divided here.

Speaker 10 (25:25):
My boyfriend is a Yankees fan and I am a
longtime Raised fan.

Speaker 3 (25:30):
We have a rubber match today.

Speaker 10 (25:32):
I was a Rais fan since Tanyon stirts with our eighth.

Speaker 14 (25:35):
So long time.

Speaker 9 (25:38):
But I want to know from the team, who do
you guys think will be higher in the division, The
Rays or the Yankees this season?

Speaker 3 (25:44):
And thanks? All right?

Speaker 2 (25:47):
I don't want to get I don't want to get
in the middle of a house divided here.

Speaker 3 (25:52):

Let's say tonight is a Super Bowl preview Lions and Chargers,
and your star has never been brighter. But happy to
give more family feud. I have a nice seat on

the bandwagon. It's got an ashtray for your cigar, it's

Speaker 2 (27:03):
I can't do it. I can't do it, Doug. I
cannot do it. They've let me down way too many times.

Speaker 3 (27:09):
But thank you.

Speaker 2 (27:10):
That's a that's a generous offer. I got an ashtray
for my cigars, plays for my tequila, all the comforts
of home. It's just that's usually where the Chargers are,
you know, when the playoffs start, home not playing. But
this year playoffs Okay, maybe they get to the AFC
title game.

Speaker 3 (27:31):
But I can't. I'm not in in.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
I'm just going to enjoy the ride from afar. I'm
not going to be on the bandwagon. Too many times
it's broken down or I've fallen off. It's I can't
do it. Sorry, but that doesn't mean that I won't
enjoy the story. If Jim Harball once again continues to
make magic and Justin Herbert plays at a top five level. Absolutely,

(27:57):
it'll be great. It'll be our Chargers just gonna do it.
I'm gonna be a silent partner there, silent uh. Zach

It BUT i am committed to. It i'm all in
on the. Character but somehow somebody who's known me for

(30:34):
twenty years did not know THAT i was in the,
movie THAT i somehow slipped. By that might have been
she might have been fast forwarding through. It, now in
fairness To fritzy And, paulie my wife hasn't watched the movie.
Yet she Watched Happy gilmore the original, yesterday and So

(30:55):

Before Bill belichick made the hoodie. Famous, There, Yes, Paulie,
yeah you're, correct just did a deep.

Speaker 5 (31:25):

Speaker 2 (32:02):

Speaker 3 (32:08):
That all. Right so we have a poll, question, right,
yeah we.

Speaker 2 (32:12):
DO i haven't even mentioned this one on air, yet
but we just.

Speaker 3 (32:15):
Put it up.

Speaker 8 (32:16):
Though.

Speaker 7 (32:16):
Oh this so one's from Paul if you had to
give up one watching, football meat or. Beer got to
give up, one not really sure, why but you have
to do it watching, football meat or.

Speaker 2 (32:29):
BEER i could give up beer if you, said, okay
let's say. Alcohol oh you're kicking it. Up let's say
alcohol and. Cigars alcohol and. Cigars, yeah, WELL i gotta
make it tougher BECAUSE i could give.

Speaker 3 (32:45):
Up beer.

Speaker 2 (32:48):
And then give up meat or give up. Football all,
right after the. Break after the, break our play of
the day is up.

oscore five.

Speaker 2 (33:41):

Right prior to the commercial, Break pauli came up with
a poll, question if you had to give up one
football beer and THEN i, said let's make an alcohol
and cigars or. Meat you have to give it up

(34:25):
for the entire, Year, todd which one would you give? Up,
well you would give up the. Alcohol. Okay well what
IF i just said meat or? Football it would be very.

Speaker 8 (34:39):
Difficult BUT i gotta have my. FOOTBALL i gotta watch
My BRONCOS i have to find a way to eat
stuff that wasn't. Meat i'd give, okay.

Speaker 7 (34:45):
Seating, well this is kind Of i'm sort of In
todd's boat here, too because at various times in my
Life i've given up meat and.

Speaker 3 (34:54):
Alcohol, okay.

Speaker 7 (34:56):
So it's kind of easy for me to pick those
like watching football more THAN i like eating meat or
drinking or. Smoking So i'm keeping the. Football, yeah and
you guys might be the wrong audience, here we kind of.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
Are.

Speaker 3 (35:09):
Yeah, YEAH i think the question is really meant for.

Speaker 2 (35:12):
Me.

Speaker 3 (35:14):
UH i could give up. MEAT i could give up. Meat, Yeah.
PAULIE i went three months with steam, vegetables.

Speaker 5 (35:29):
AND i remember your mood during those Three oh.

Speaker 3 (35:31):
Yeah BUT i did.

Speaker 2 (35:32):
It every meal was steam vegetables and purified, water room.
Temperature you were the worst during that, TIME i.

Speaker 5 (35:38):
WAS i didn't say.

Speaker 3 (35:39):
That, well, NO i was it was, Tough, yes it,
was BUT i. Could. YEAH i want to have football.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
Meat AND i could give that up having you, know
a cigar and tequila at the end of the, night
that it might be a little.

Speaker 3 (35:56):
Tougher. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (35:57):
See i've put up two different versions of this pole.
Question one of them is if you had to give
up one watching, football meat or. Beer then the other
option is watching football meat or alcohol and. Cigars, okay
in both, options with over seventy eight percent of each,
vote it's either beer or alcohol and. Cigars alcohol and

(36:19):
cigars actually has a higher percentage of the vote than just. Beer,
oh seventy eight percent of the audience would give up,
beer but eighty percent would give up alcohol and.

Speaker 2 (36:29):
Cigars day, man you're.

Speaker 3 (36:32):
Not invited to my man.

Speaker 2 (36:33):
Cave, yeah they don't want to be in your.

Speaker 3 (36:35):
Basement, yeah, Yeah, PAUL.

Speaker 5 (36:36):
I could give up. ALCOHOL i would miss, it BUT
i would give it. UP i like the, process like
you sitting at a certain time of day or going
to like a group hub. MEAT i couldn't give up and.
FOOTBALL i just can't imagine going into the fall without
being able to watch. Football what would you do with your?
Time what would we? Do with our time as good
as baseball and basketball are college and. Pro that would

(36:59):
be depressing.

Speaker 2 (37:01):
If you had to give up Two could you give
up alcohol and meet and keep football for a?

Speaker 5 (37:08):
Year, yeah BUT i would be bummed without.

Speaker 3 (37:09):
Meat NOW i could do. IT i wouldn't like, it
BUT i could do.

Speaker 5 (37:13):
It i'd barely go two meals without.

Speaker 2 (37:16):
Meat zach In, Knoxville good, Morning, Zach. Zach you're still.

bus like? That, well that's his. Job we have a
camera on him right. NOW i have a camera on
all of these guys at all. Times and he appears
to be doing. Nothing it appears as if all of
the backroom guys are doing. Nothing guys got their feet.

Speaker 2 (38:34):

okay it's not morale building at. All, okay out Of,
Mario Ray, Weeks Dylan, Tyler, tyler And Rob rob the
fastest guy in the, Building rob the fastest guy in the,

(38:55):

Speaker 3 (38:57):
Guys who is? Replaceable the easiest to? Replace? Marvin i'll
start with, you who would you? Pick and you do Have.
Anthony he's the newest member of the.

Speaker 8 (39:19):

real hit For, ray isn't.

Speaker 3 (39:41):

Speaker 8 (39:46):
Todd can we just say they're all equally replaceable or
just move on to it's really the safe answer here
that we're all.

and how that situation is going to get.

Speaker 13 (40:20):
Resolved if you were leading the, organization how.

Speaker 2 (40:22):
Much would you pay?

Speaker 13 (40:23):
Him he WANTS dk metcalf, money but he's three years.

Speaker 2 (40:26):
YOUNGER i would give Him Brandon ayuk. Money, now, granted
The niners overpaid For Brandon nyuk and then try to trade,
him BUT i think that's close to thirty million. Dollars
you Need terry. McLaurin he has been a great soldier for,
you AND i know we've talked about. This you may

(40:47):
not pay somebody for what they, did but what they
can do or what they will. Do and then maybe
that's the disconnect with the commanders At terry's, age and
maybe they're looking at him and, saying you're not thirty
million dollar a year wide. RECEIVER i don't know what
he's asking, for but it feels like it'd be in that. Ballpark, Yeah, paul.

Speaker 5 (41:07):
LIKE Dk metcalf is great with the, highlights he's usually pretty.

Speaker 3 (41:10):
HEALTHY i would rather Have terry McLaurin THE dk. Metcut
he seems more.

Speaker 2 (41:13):
Steady, yes he's a better he's a more, reliable consistent
in my. Opinion And i've got this great story With
Jaden daniels AND i want to continue that growth with,
him and he's been the one constant that they. Have
