light collision repairs. Get a free estimate today. Uh oh,

(01:32):
better get Maco, all right. Some of the point spreads
for coming up tonight and tomorrow. Pacers are three point
favorites against the Calves. No, they're actually Calves are three
point favorites thunder five point favorites against the Nuggets, I believe,
And let's see the Celtics. Celtics are five point favorites

(01:57):
against the next Timberwolf's five point favorites at the Warriors.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
Coming up tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
So you have desperation mode for the Cavaliers and the Knicks,
and a lot of people think the Cavs maybe they
get a little healthier now this series goes to Indiana
and with the Celtics and the Knicks. The Knicks at home,
but the Celtics favored by five and watching last night,
I'm not surprised that Minnesota won. I was kind of

(02:23):
surprised at Steve Kerr's maybe philosophy strategy. I think he
knew he wasn't going to win the game. I think
he wanted to get everybody into the game, and he
almost did that in the first quarter. I think he
had eleven players in the first quarter get some playing time.
I think everybody played last night. I think he's kind

(02:44):
of looking to see and I don't think Steph Curry
is going to play. I think the odds are a
lot longer than they're letting on. First, it was one game.
Now they're going to reassess in a week. And even
Steph Curry doesn't sound like he's going to be playing
back skipball again.

Speaker 5 (03:01):
From all that I've or all that I'm learning about
how quickly you can get back, there has to be
a healing process that is just the way the body works.
You can't accelerate it more than what it's telling you.
So it'll be one of those after a week, like
really re evaluating every day to kind of understand when

(03:21):
it's safe just to even think about playing, let alone,
Like how.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Much can you push it?

Speaker 5 (03:26):
You're starting to feel really, really good about where we're at,
and then you kind of get a gut punch like that,
I'll do everything in my power to get back.

Speaker 6 (03:34):
It sounds possible.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Yeah, that doesn't sound promising, and I think Steve Kerr
knows that. I think Steve Kerr is now going to
be searching what kind of lineup can I put out there?
Get my guys a little playing time here, because I'm
going to have to count on a lot more people
than I thought I would. I don't think Steph Curry
is going to play, and if he does, I think
he'll be very, very limited.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
You know that.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
It was working with Jimmy Butler. They play really good defense,
played really good defense in that first game. Minnesota came out,
they made a statement, now you go back to Golden State,
and I thought, if you can split in Golden State
and then maybe it's two to two and Steph comes back,
then you can win this series. But I think the
odds are a lot longer than people are leading on

(04:19):
trying to come back from a hamstring and Steph has
never had the injury before. At least, if you've had
an injury like that, you know a timeframe.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
He doesn't.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
And this is going to be one of those day
to day, game to game. But I think Steph Curry's
probably done playing basketball this year. And that's a shame, because, man,
Golden State stuff to watch. If Steph's not playing, If
I go see the Backstreet Boys, I'd like, you know,
to have is Justin Timberlake back Street Boys?

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Or's he in sync? Sink in sync? Okay?

Speaker 2 (04:49):
So if I go in Sync, I would hope that
Justin Timberlake would be there.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Who's the main guy in Backstreet Boys?

Speaker 4 (04:56):
Yes, all Backstreets?

Speaker 2 (05:00):
They don't have a main guy. I gotta look Todd,
don't you know the Backstreet Boys?

Speaker 3 (05:06):
Brian Latrelle would Brian Latrelle? Did you just pull that?
AJ mcclamer love agent?

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Okay, all right, so they don't have a main guy.
But back to my original point, Brian Latrelle perhaps, but
if you if you're going to go see and Sink,
you hope Justin Timberlake is going to be there. That
it's tough to watch Golden State because you're really missing
one of the more exciting, dynamic, fun players to watch.

(05:35):
And I was just watching a bunch of guys out
there trying to play basketball.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
And it wasn't exciting at all.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
You know, the game wasn't exciting either, But you know,
Golden State without Steph, you know, just talking about the
entertainment portion of that, it's a little dry. The understudy is,
you know, coming out there for a Phantom of the
opera and you're going, that's not the same.

Speaker 7 (05:58):
Yes.

Speaker 8 (05:58):
Sometimes you go see Wu Tang Clay and a method
man doesn't show up. You're like, ah, dude, this is
gonna be way too much. You got right now, and
we wanted way more methan man.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
This is not great, not good. Yeah, pauling to put it.

Speaker 9 (06:12):
In your vernacular, Dan, if you if you go to
see Hamilton on Broadway and Lynn Manuel Miranda's not there,
that's the Steph.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
Kurt Curry. Yeah, so he didn't play and won't be playing. Uh.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
There was also a moment where Draymond Green got another technical,
got tangled up with Nus Reed, and of course Draymond
is really really good at playing the victim after he
initiates something, creates something, and then he's the victim. So
he got another technical and uh, here's Draymond Green after

(06:45):
the game talking about being singled out.

Speaker 6 (06:49):
It look like the angry black man. I'm not an
angry black man. I'm a very successful, educated black man
with a great family, and I'm great at basketball.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
I'm great at what I do to the gender.

Speaker 7 (06:59):
To try to keep making me look like an angry
black man is crazy.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
I'm sick of it.

Speaker 6 (07:03):
Is ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
Okay, you're embarrassing yourself. You created this, and now you're
venting against the people who have employed you. Gave you
a podcast. You get to work on TNT when your
season is over. You've created an image here, You've gotten
contract extensions. You can be great at your job. You
can be a highly educated basketball player. This isn't about

(07:28):
being an angry black man or what.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
Is the NBA?

Speaker 2 (07:31):
Eighty five percent African American? And they're going to single
you out? Do they single you out because you do
stupid things when you play basketball. That's when you're great.
I singled you out a couple of years ago against Boston.
Stop doing stupid things. Play good basketball. And then he
did and they won a championship. And he really he's

(07:53):
taking the playbook of Dennis Rodman. How do I get
attention for a guy who gets eight points, seven rebounds
in six assists and a few steals and plays really
good defense on a team that has Durant or Steph
and Clay.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
And he did it.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
Congratulations, you're going to have a post career in broadcasting.
But don't do this. You know you're not the victim here.
You do stupid things. You've cost your team before, you'll
probably cost your team again. But to single out yourself
and say this is all about you, I mean, look

(08:30):
at the play. I mean you can google Draymond Green
and you're going to get ten minutes of stupid plays,
cheat shots that you've taken on people like come on,
here's Steph. Here is Steve Kerr talking about Draymond Green.

Speaker 10 (08:50):
Yeah, I could see, you know, he had gotten pretty
upset and I just didn't want him to get another technical,
so I took him out at that point. And I
know he's gonna have to be careful now he's uh
see two techs away.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
Five techs and two flagrants and so texts. He'll be
suspended for two more flagrants right now. So he's he's
going to have to stay composed.

Speaker 10 (09:17):
Obviously we need him.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
Yes, this year, coach, your coach is talking about you.
This is Groundhog's Day.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
I mean, every playoff, it feels like we go through this,
but now he's the victim, and now there's an agenda
against him because he's a black man. I'm sure Rashid
Wallace thought the same way, but Rashid Wallace brought it
on himself. But you know, if you're an habitual Let's

(09:48):
say you get speeding tickets all the time and you
live in a small town, the police are probably going
to keep an eye on you because you normally go
above the speed limit. Draymond goes above the speed limit.
Not a question of if, but when. And the question
is how lenient are the officials going to be? But
that's not why you lost. And nobody's singing singling you out.

(10:12):
You want to be singled out. You want attention, and
you got it. You've created an image here, a brand.
But you can't run away from the brand you created.

Speaker 4 (10:25):
Yes, Martin, he literally punched his own teammate, among other
things that he's done, joke that Rudy Gobert and all
this stuff. And the thing is the term angry black man. No, no, no,
you're uncontrollable. You are black, but you're uncontrollable sometimes with
your antics, and even Steve Kerr and Stephen Curry and

(10:48):
Klay Thompson, you could see them rolling their eyes like
we needed to win this game and they need him.
He's super important to.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
Their dynasty, especially in this series with no Steph Kerr.
And look when he plays, he plays basketball with an
extremely high IQ. But then he dumbs himself down, which
I don't understand. Rodman, to me, was one of the
smartest basketball players I've ever seen. Like he studied, he

(11:17):
studied his opponent. He knew how to get into your head.
But he didn't get to the point where he's throwing
elbows or punching teammates. He was just an unbelievable professional
nuisance and he created a brand. He created an image.
He wanted to bait you into doing something stupid. Draymond

(11:39):
does something stupid on his own. Nas Reed didn't bait him.
Draymond created all of it. And that's the unfortunate part.
You know, there's a lot of racism, Well, there's a
lot of people who are singled out. How about we
use those moments for the real things that are important.

(12:00):
Draymond Green is an angry black man and all of
a sudden he's being singled out. He just embarrasses himself.
He really does. All right, let's pull question today, Seaton.

Speaker 8 (12:13):
Well, I'm not trying to blow up the whole show.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
Uh oh, but I might. Okay, whose career.

Speaker 4 (12:19):
Do you want?

Speaker 8 (12:21):
Spike Lee, Bob Costas, Mark Messier?

Speaker 2 (12:23):
Oh? Man, I'm thirteen minutes into a Friday show. You
are I was going to mail this one in. I
can't do that now.

Speaker 6 (12:33):
All right?

Speaker 3 (12:36):
Well, M.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
Todd, I'll let you start whose career out of our
three scheduled guests.

Speaker 11 (12:45):
I'm going to take Spike Lee because you can act
right direct producer. Not that they don't have the abilities
to do that, Costas and Messier, but that he's already
done that. He's won a couple of Academy Awards, and
just to be able to do all those different things,
and you know, with celebrity and all that kind of stuff,
that seems the coolest to me.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
How about your Seaton? I might go Messier? Okay, he.

Speaker 8 (13:10):
I don't know, he's got you know, he's one of
the all time greats in a super cool sport tons
of respect. I don't I think what he did is
pretty special.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
And he wanted in New York to Marvin whose career.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
I'm gonna go, Spike.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
He did do the right thing, Paul, what about you?
This is brutal.

Speaker 9 (13:34):
I think I'm going Mark Messier because he played, but
I'm not even a hockey guy.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
I don't know. Yeah, I don't know. This is tough.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
I mean, obviously, being an actor, I can understand and
relate to Spike Lee. Being an athlete, I can relate
to Mark Messier, and being a broadcaster, I can relate
to Bob Gostins.

Speaker 4 (13:59):
So your Swiss army knife, yes, kind of lived all
their careers.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
Yeah, uh, I yes.

Speaker 4 (14:10):
Marvin, you should ask Spike how come you weren'tname? He
got game?

Speaker 3 (14:14):
Well, why do I want to bring that up? Why not? Well,
because he was directing.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
You don't want to be Jesus Shuttlesworth.

Speaker 3 (14:27):
No, Spike can't be Jesus shuttles Worth.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
I said you, Oh me, yeah, Oh why wasn't I No, no, no, no,
I think that would be weird to have Denzel Washington
as my dad and then I'm ray Allen.

Speaker 9 (14:43):
Awkward timing wise, the timing, I don't know. Yeah, yes,
Denzel had you when he's won out of Wedlock. Yes,
I thought, yes, I thought Marvin.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
Meant that too.

Speaker 11 (14:58):
Spike Lee, as Jesus Shuttles were, that would be a
tough sell.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Yeah, because Barkley said that Spike can't play basketball.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
Yes, Marmon, let's not play with Spike like that.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
No, no, Look, he's feeling good the Knicks Saturday afternoon
at the Garden.

Speaker 3 (15:17):
Maybe this will ease the pain of.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
What happened with the American League Championship Series with the
Yankees and the Red Sox and O four. Could this
could anything ease the pain? Ease his pain? All right,
let me take a break. Spike Lee will join us.
Coming up, and we'll get to your phone calls. Settle
on a poll question as well, Bob Constance, Mark Messier

Good to see you. Well. The forecast is orange Blue
Skies at the world's most famous arena, matt Is the
Square Guarden?

Speaker 3 (17:44):
You nervous?

Speaker 6 (17:46):
No, this is gonna be the Vine Intervention. Hint, hint, hint.
You know what I'm talking about with the Pope.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
Yeah, Villanova alumni, Is this a bigger win for Villanova
than or then when Villanova won that last NCAA championship? WHOA?

Speaker 6 (18:13):
All I can say is, well, people, you know, people
say we have a one s the seven two, seven,
eight three season, and it takes a miracle to break
the snide. I was at the last roan Che Stadium
when that ball rolled through Buttoner's So I'll take anywhere
you can get.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
Can anything ease the pain of what happened in four
in the ALCS for you with the Yankees and the
Red Sox.

Speaker 6 (18:46):
Oh, and with when they came off a hit of
a great reliever. Yeah, what's the Dodgers manager? He stole
second base, right, Dave Roberts, Dave Robinson. I don't know,
maybe that means a.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
Book, but I remember talking to you when the Yankees
were up three to one and I'm just doing Sports Center, right,
and you were along the first baseline, uh seats there
in the first baseline.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
You go, who do you like?

Speaker 2 (19:20):
I said, I like the Red Sox. I don't want
to hear that. Next game, I see you, who do
you like? I said, I like the Red Sox. Oh,
I don't want to hear that. Then you saw me
the next time and you said, who do you like?
I don't even want to hear it. You're gonna tell
me the Red Size? I like the Red Size? Did
you ever get over that?

Speaker 6 (19:43):
Only when people like you remind me.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
It's my job.

Speaker 6 (19:48):
Those are memories you want to Yeah, flush, you know,
you know, like the Riggie Miller. You know that, you
know that you try, you try to. It comes up, though,
but it's not it's not the top.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
Of the.

Speaker 6 (20:08):
Head.

Speaker 3 (20:09):
So when did you first learn to hate the Celtics.

Speaker 6 (20:15):
It's anything. I'm a New Yorker, that's that's just you
learned that in kindergarten either and off of vice versa.
You can ask that question Bostonians. You know, we don't.
It's it's a great robbery, Boston, New York. Any sport.

(20:35):
How was that? Oh? The Pages were undefeated going to
the Super Bowl and Manningham damn. You know, you know
you knew to answer that question.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
I did, I did.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
But I think Bostonians look at the Knicks and nick
fans and go, you guys haven't done anything. We won championships,
So maybe how many Yankees have? Twenty seven?

Speaker 6 (21:09):
Thank you? So what are you saying?

Speaker 3 (21:12):
Well, no, I'm just talking about the Celtics Knicks rivalry.

Speaker 6 (21:15):
Oh, but it's Boston, New York. Is Boston New York.

Speaker 3 (21:20):
Have you ever talked to Brady about those Super Bowls?

Speaker 6 (21:24):
Oh? Here's Oh, I've got what Super Bowls was? But
his din't wife was screaming, my husband can't throw a
ball cast the moment. But this past year, rep the
season game, Tom sat courtside, so the Knicks gave him

(21:49):
a football to sign and he would throw up into
this fans. So she says, fight him over here. I'm
gonna throw you the bowl first, and you throw it
back to me, and I'm throwing up in the states.
I'm five six and a half.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
Yeah, you're the size of Edelman.

Speaker 6 (22:08):
No, I'm small, So he must have throw he's throwing
the drunk. That ball sailed over my head. Oh well
before that, before he threw the boy did like.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
This, Oh, tapped your head near your helmet. No, David Tyree.

Speaker 6 (22:27):
Tyree, Yeah that No, But I like to say it's
Tom's a great guy. Great guy, great guy.

Speaker 3 (22:37):
He's Spike Lee.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
The movie the Highest to Lowest, starring Denzel Washington.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
That'll be uh. Do you have a release date on them?

Speaker 6 (22:45):
Yes, August twenty second, nationwide. But also we're going to
the Cawn Film Festival May nineteenth, so uh, I believe
in how Things Supposed to Be. May nineteenth, nineteen eighty
was the world premiere Do the Right Thing in Can
May nineteenth, twenty five will be Malcolm X on the

(23:08):
birthday Denzil on Denzel's on Broadway during Othello and the
only day Broadway is dark is on a Monday, and
this May nineteenth is a month, is a Monday, So
denzil be able to come the can So we're very
happy about that.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
When did you know it worked? Clicked with Denzel.

Speaker 6 (23:30):
The first film Mo Better Blues. So in order MO
Better Blues Malcolm X, he got Game and Inside Man.
And the funny thing is that Denzel and I both
did not know Inside Man was nineteen years ago. I
mean time flies. I mean I didn't know. He didn't know.
But our relationship is really great, and it's what special

(23:53):
is that we don't really hang out. We might see
each other when the Lakers in La I see what
I said. It seems when the Lakers into the garden,
he comes to a spike.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
Let's go.

Speaker 6 (24:04):
So but when we see it just like we saw
each other yesterday. So that's the desa you know, relationship.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
Who's the other players you considered for he got Game?
Other than Ray Allen?

Speaker 6 (24:18):
Well, my brother Allen Iverson did not did not want audition, rehearsal, rehearsal.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
Oh no, he didn't say.

Speaker 6 (24:32):
No, I'm kidding. Hey, AI is loved baby, you know
I love it and I love you. Uh, they were
Here's the thing that he got game. I was like
a talent scout because Jesus Chettlesur is a senior Abraham
Lincoln High School in Corney Island. So I had to
look at the people, look at the players who are
going to be in the draft. Also look at the

(24:54):
players in the league already but still look like they
could play the were in high school. So I made
the list and I had auditions, and the thing is
that I needed someone who who's gonna dedicate the whole summer.
Now you know those athletes when it's off season, he
gotta take a break whatever. But Ray said I'll do it.

(25:16):
So Ray did not. We didn't finish the film till
the day before he had to report the camp for
George Carr was on Milwaukee buckstand, so he teamed dedicated
himself for the role. And Garry always asked me, we
we're gonna have a heat game. Two, we're gonna have
a shot game. But I don't think so. I mean

(25:39):
that the film is what it is and so far
not done any sequels.

Speaker 2 (25:47):
Yeah, we fall in love with sequels, and I don't
know if Hollywood does as well, because hey, if it
was successful, then you know.

Speaker 6 (25:55):
Ever, God bothered to unchallenged. What Godfather too?

Speaker 3 (26:02):
What's the second best sequel? M.

Speaker 6 (26:09):
Yeah, I'm stumped right there, I'm stumped. But Francis he
he owns a crown for that. Shout out to Francis.

Speaker 3 (26:17):
Did you consider Stephan Marlbury for He Got Game?

Speaker 6 (26:20):
Well, there's a big controversy and me and Steph were cool.
You know that stuff has been squashed. I seem all
the games all the time of the garden, but somehow
people were thinking that that this He Got Game was
about step On it and that's not really the case. The
reason why I chose a Lincoln High School because for

(26:42):
years they had the best basketball team public school. And
also even though I didnt grew up at Corney Island, my
highest school I went to was John Doue was a
Corney Island. So that's that's really you know what it was.
I did not want. It was not or biographical or
I made of this character Jesus who his father has

(27:05):
been locked up for accidents, accidentally killing his mother.

Speaker 2 (27:10):
We had Barkley on recently and I asked him what
kind of game you had? He said, Spike can't play.

Speaker 6 (27:19):
Well, first of all, I can't play. He's never seen
me play basketball. So this is I mean, now, back
in the day softball, I go first to third. I was,
I was, I was. I was the fastest kid in
my block.

Speaker 3 (27:38):
So you were Vince Coleman going from first to third.
Jackie Robinson, Jackie Robinson.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
You know there are no great softball movies. So maybe
maybe you come out with his softball heah yeah yeah.

Speaker 6 (27:53):
I mean, hey, you're gonna get exhibited, right, Okay, so
you do have you had some basketball game? I mean
I don't playing a team uh in New York City
depended with softball, stoop ball two and touch. I mean

(28:14):
it's just was just playing in the street. You know.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
Did you ever play against Prince No?

Speaker 6 (28:20):
Okay, no, I heard. I've taught people say he could ball.
He could, I mean, he could play, and also he
was a great he knew the game too. One of
my best moments the NBA sat Prince Night together at
in the All Star Game when it was in New

(28:42):
York and we just a famous people looking online and
he has his cane and it was we were just
talking basketball and having a great time. And I missed him.
I missed him very much.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
I was at the NBA Finals in Chicago loose ball,
Rodman goes forward out of Prince is there with his bodyguard.

Speaker 3 (29:02):
Rodman.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
Rodman, you know, gets the ball and he walks over
to Prince and he said, hey, we should go out
after the game. Well, Prince doesn't acknowledge him. You have
to go through the bodyguard to them and talks to Prince.
So Rodman's like talking to him, and Prince didn't say anything,

(29:23):
and then the bodyguard says, you got to you gotta
go through me, and then Rodman waved him off and
then walked back on the floor.

Speaker 6 (29:33):
Well, I think that was a good decision.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
This movie with Denzel highest to Lois uh So asap
Rocky's in here.

Speaker 6 (29:46):
Yeah, he he could gives a magnificent performance. And this
film is not a remake. It's a reinterpretation of the
great film High and Low by the great Japanese filmmaker
director A cure At curs Out.

Speaker 3 (30:04):
So that was back in the sixties, mid.

Speaker 6 (30:07):
Nineteen nineteen sixty The great Tissue Muffoon, who did many
many films with curs Out, is a he's executive at
a shoe factory and in this film, Denzel Washington is
a music mogul who's noticed having the best gears in
the business. So we shot this in the in the
streets of the great scene the world, weather York for

(30:31):
those six Spanish you know, I'm talking about Weather York
and my fifth film with Denzel And it's a blessing and.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
But not nervous pairing somebody like Denzel with asap.

Speaker 6 (30:46):
No a sap is done. He's this is not his
first film, and hell auditioned and and then I'll just
tell you he's from Harlem.

Speaker 7 (30:57):
So.

Speaker 3 (31:00):
He's not afraid, not afraid.

Speaker 6 (31:02):
He from Harlem Uptown.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
I know you were just on Carmelo Anthony's podcast and
they're talking about retiring inst Jersey. What about Bernard King?

Speaker 6 (31:14):
Oh the Knicks mean right, Yeah, here's the thing. Bernard
is one of the greats. But the neighbor. But Bernard
grew up in my neighborhood, Fort Green. This hospital Fort
Green called Cumon Hospital. Bernard was born there. Albert King,
Mike Tyson and Michael Jordan, They're all born in the

(31:37):
hospital my neighbor Fort Green, Brooklyn. Wow, yeah, Bernard, I
mean those years, I mean it is this. I wish
they had better. I wish medicine was further long, so
they were not the operation. He had his knees with

(31:59):
a maid him come back, and he really wasn't physically
the same. We came back for the love. But I
don't know why the New York Nikobokers has not retired.
Bernard King's jersey should be hanging from the raft of
the world's most famous arena.

Speaker 3 (32:16):
He was a bucket square dog.

Speaker 2 (32:18):
He was a bucket man. He was a bucket every
time Fort Hamilton High School? Yeah, yeah, uh, how would
you celebrate if the next Winter title?

Speaker 3 (32:30):
What would it? What would a title mean to you?

Speaker 6 (32:34):
Well, May nineteen seventy I was at Game seven, the
Willis Reed Game. I was thirteen years old and I
just need one before I leave this earth. And I'm

(32:55):
telling you. When I read the popes, he said he's
alumni Vanilla of Illanova. I said, oh my, it's a
pump Oh my god, oh gee. But listen to though.

(33:21):
Let's think a little headed. It could be a Minnesota
nick final, got my boy Dotte Villanova. Guys, so this
might be the.

Speaker 3 (33:33):
Year you're going to church on Saturday.

Speaker 6 (33:37):
Well, I'm not Catholic, but I might go back to
might go to abysin church in Marlowe and get on
my knees. Oh Lord Jesus give us. But here's the
thing though. You know when the Mets won the World

(34:01):
Series in nineteen sixty nine, I ran on the field
in Game five, like twenty thousand other crazy kids, you
know game back then, those were day games. We're split
in Baltimore and my range three and four Shay Stadium, Queens.

(34:21):
And my mother said, you're going to school. My father said, no,
he ain't. He's going to Kase Dayton. The Mets got away.
What do they call the miracle Mets. Yeah, so miracles
have happened in sports hockey with the you know the.

Speaker 3 (34:42):
Yeah, so.

Speaker 6 (34:44):
It has happened. And we are long over, Duke.

Speaker 2 (34:48):
Good luck on Saturday. All right, good to talk to
you very much. Thank you, man, Take care all right.

don't try. Dan Pauli's rocking a bit of a sinister
slash mysterious vibe with his ipats say for those who
are listening on radio, I really like it. And Dan,

(36:43):
you channeled your any your inner Biggie Smalls earlier this week,
and I loved it when you said it that you
were going to be serving champagne for your campaign on
the party bus, and they got my innes somaly a
curious and I just wanted to know exactly what champagne
you're serving, because in my mind, there's only one champagne
that's very show appropriate.

Speaker 3 (37:04):
That you should be serving, and that is.

Speaker 13 (37:08):
DP dom Parian yell.

Speaker 3 (37:10):
Oh oh oh.

Speaker 2 (37:13):
I don't know if I feel that confident about winning
a Sports Emmy, but thank you, Budha a lesser investment, Yeah,
is there how about some cider moderately rist.

Speaker 3 (37:26):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (37:28):
Yeah, So I'm thinking about bringing champagne on the party
bus when we go next Tuesday to the Sports Emmys.

Speaker 3 (37:35):
Is it next Tuesday?

Speaker 14 (37:37):
It's Tuesday, week from Tuesday, The week from Tuesday, that'll
be Tuesday, the one after that'll be weird if we
go this Tuesday, go down there and nobody's there on
the party bush.

Speaker 3 (37:48):
Jake in Houston, Good morning, Jake, what's on your mind?

Speaker 7 (37:52):
Hey, good morning, An, thanks for taking my call. Yep
six great, thank you. Hey. I have a quick two
part question, if you don't mind. I actually called in
earlier this week regarding Draymond Green being deserving of the
Hall of Fame, and he gave me a very good answer,
telling me why he deserves to be in and all
that good stuff. I just wonder if last night's antics

(38:16):
in his history of the anti cities had in his career,
have the voters possibly changing their minds asking themselves as
the production enough to outweigh the risk. And then a
quick question, andre Iguodala, do you think he's a Hall
of Famer, four time champ, MVP of the Finals, and
great defensive player?

Speaker 3 (38:37):
Take my call, Dan, I think he's in the Hall
of very good.

Speaker 2 (38:40):
I don't think he's I don't think he's a Hall
of Famer, and I don't think anything that Draymond is
going to do now is going to diminish what he did.

Speaker 3 (38:50):
You know, his entire career. He's a Hall of Famer.

Speaker 2 (38:53):
It's just you know, these are asterisks there with him,
but he wanted to draw attention. Guys who don't score
a lot or you know, they're not able to be flamboyant.
You know, what Draymond does is not There's nothing flamboyant
about it. You know, when Steph and Clay are getting
all the attention, when Kevin Durant is getting all the attention,

(39:16):
Draymond wanted attention. How do you get attention. I'm going
to be that past that nuisance. I'm going to be
the guy who tangles up with you. I'm going to
be the guy who gives you a cheap shot. Now,
he does play great defense. He's been the best passer
on the team since he's been there. But he created
a brand. But you can't all of a sudden say,

(39:37):
wait a minute here, you know you're coming after me.

Speaker 3 (39:42):
No, you've there's a pattern here. You created all of this.

Speaker 4 (39:48):
Yes, Martin Draymond's got a real Bill Lambier like quality
to him. People don't People forget how good of a
player Bill Lambier was because of all of the antics.
And I think PAULI bought it up maybe earlier this
week about him going to the Hall of Fame. If
Bill Yambier was a part of three or four Pissons championships,
he'd be in the Hall of Fame. If Draymond was
on the Warriors that only won two championships, he'd be

(40:10):
in the same category as Bill Yamber, like the Hall
of very Good.

Speaker 3 (40:13):
Yeah, I think that's fair.

Speaker 2 (40:14):
I think Bill Laimber was known for the fights, skirmishes,
being a nuisance and it took away from him being
a really good player. And had they won maybe one
more title, certainly two, then he would probably go in
because we would reward the team. And that's what Draymond
is being rewarded. If he played in Charlotte, he's not

(40:36):
a Hall of Famer. Now would he average more, yes,
his numbers would be better, but he would not be
a Hall of Famer. We reward you when you win championships, yes, Mark.

Speaker 4 (40:46):
And watching some of those Pistons games on like NBA TV,
Bill Lamber underrated early stretch four, stretch five guy. I
didn't realize he could shoot like that until I started
watching full games.

Speaker 3 (40:55):
And he wasn't a great college player, but he got
to think.

Speaker 2 (41:00):
He started out with Cleveland and I don't think anybody
thought much of it, and then all of a sudden
he found his way and he was a good shooter.
He could hit an eighteen twenty footer and he would
fight anybody, or he would he would force you to
fight him, whether it was Bird or Berkley. I mean
he's taken on the big names, but he loved it.

(41:24):
He loved it all right. One hour in the books
two More to Go, Bob Costace will join us. Coming
up next hour, Mark Messier in the final hour of
the program, Cabs at the Pacers, and the Cabs are favored,
Thunder at the Nuggets, the thunder are favored. We'll come back.
We'll clean up the poll question from hour one. We'll
get another poll question for hour two. Pirates have fired

(41:45):
their manager, Derek Shelton. Why might be the first time
and last time you've heard of his name as the
Pirates manager?

Speaker 3 (42:00):
About that? Coming up one hour in the book's two
More to Go.

Speaker 2 (42:03):
On this meet Friday, It's Fritzy Seat and Marv Paully
