Speaker 1 (00:00):
You are listening to the Dan Patrick Show on Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
It's our one on this Wednesday, Dan and the Dan
Nets Dan Patrick Show, Our starting lineup, our Fab five
flab five Wait a second, not for long. Yeah, everybody's
gonna get in shape for the jacked Off contest that
we're going to have. Is there a deadline for this?
What's the timeframe? Is this starting now?
Speaker 3 (00:27):
And then?
Speaker 2 (00:28):
Is this maybe when we get to Notre Dame USC
or we go to Las Vegas.
Speaker 4 (00:34):
I think we're pushing the finish line to Las Vegas.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
Okay, that would be in November.
Speaker 4 (00:39):
That would be November.
Speaker 5 (00:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
Yeah, there's a Formula one race, and I thought, you
know what, let me get outside my comfort zone here
a little bit, not going to Vegas, but going to
Vegas and having Formula one. I thought, you know what,
let's be part of the beautiful people and maybe let's
try to do that. Got friends at Fountain Blue, it
took care of us at the Super Bowl, and thought,
you know what, maybe we go out there, maybe we
(01:02):
go out to Formula one, maybe we get dressed up.
Speaker 6 (01:07):
Yes, Polly, that was my concern. Do we have f
one clothing in our wardrobes? They dressed pretty smooth over there.
Speaker 4 (01:14):
Yeah, I need one of those like Jesse Palmer, collarless
leather jackets. I feel like that just has like the
snap over here. He can wear that well.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Yes he can, Yeah, Marvin, I think can do style.
You start from the ground up. That's where fashion starts from.
Always from the ground up. You always have a great
shoe collection. I'm ready for Vegas, Okay, So I think
that's November and then October is Notre Dame USC. But
in the meantime, I don't know how we're going to
(01:48):
gauge who's in better shape or who lost weight or
body fat, whatever it is. All of a sudden, we
decided that everybody is going to get in shape.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
Is that right? Yeah, Paul.
Speaker 6 (02:01):
The question over here is looking at us. Is three
months enough time to get jacked? Because that's about what
it is till three months, three months, two weeks.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Well, I think you and Seaton have a head start
because you guys have been.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
Already pretty jacked.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
Yes, of course, yes, yes, you guys have been pretty regimented.
Cutting down on alcohol. I don't know if you're watching
what you're eating, but you're cut down on alcohol. Marvin
has been working out, todd says he takes a walk
every day.
Speaker 7 (02:31):
I've been watching Marvin work out a very good job.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
All right, well we'll I'm not sure how we measure this.
That's the only thing of who would be the winner
of the jacked off contest?
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Here? Who is jacked Yes, marmon.
Speaker 8 (02:46):
Do we take before and after photos?
Speaker 5 (02:49):
No?
Speaker 6 (02:49):
No, like naked, look like Tom Brady at the combine?
Speaker 4 (02:53):
Yeah, combine photos in our underwear?
Speaker 3 (02:56):
Yes?
Speaker 7 (02:57):
All right?
Speaker 5 (03:02):
Can we get a month to get ready for the
free photo looking good?
Speaker 9 (03:07):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (03:08):
And then we'll get a sponsorship. We'll get it to
you know, somebody to M drive will sponsor this.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
We'll bring them back. Yeah, We'll get.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
Some kind of fitness you know, health club that's going
to get involved in this.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
And that's Marvin.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
Put the M and M drive.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
Come on our drive, Marvin put the M and.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
Alrighty, welcome to the program.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
Yes, yes, Marvin.
Speaker 8 (03:35):
M drive on the way to F one okay, f
one okay, already damn give us.
Speaker 3 (03:44):

sing stat of the day, has to right, has to Yes,
I'm going to get a maybe a piano, and then
she'll be lying across the top like what was that?

Good morning if you're watching on Peacock.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
Thank you for downloading the app, and good morning to
our radio affiliates around the country.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
Yes, Eton, there's.
Speaker 4 (04:49):
Almost a Sweeney Sisters quality to that song by Pandora.
Do you remember the Sweeney Sisters.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
I do not.
Speaker 4 (04:57):
It was a Saturday night live bit with Jane Curtin
and somebody else, and they were like like lounge singers
at the Poconos or something like that. You know, and uh,
there's a very famous Sweeney Sisters bit where Paul Simon
is sitting in the crowd and they start singing all
of these Simon and Garfunkel songs. Yeah, and it is hilarious.
(05:17):
Pandora's got some of those Sweeney Sisters qualities, guest un
Jan Hooks and Nora Dunne.
Speaker 7 (05:23):
That's very silly, awesome lounge at.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Okay, welcome to the program. Already in
progress by the way, and uh, you know, we were wondering,
what is the lead story today? You do have training
campy and Rapaport of NFL Network will join us coming up,
Trey Hendrickson back with the Bengals but still unsigned, Baseball
trade deadline tomorrow. Otani's going to be pitching tonight. And
(05:49):
then we thought, well, you know, the real lead is
probably Liam Neeson and Pam Anderson are dating because they're
starting in the re of Naked Gun or is it
a I don't know, is it a remake of Naked
Gun or is it just an addition to the original
Naked Gun? When was the last Naked Gun with Leslie Nielsen?
(06:12):
And we've seen these separations here with Top Gun and
Maverick Happy Gilmore Happy Gilmore too, and Naked Gun.
Speaker 8 (06:21):
Yes, Marvin Thing was the Naked Gun thirty three and
the third Yes Anna Nicole Smith with the love interest.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
Of Leslie Nielsen. I think, so, yeah, okay, yes, Paul.
Speaker 6 (06:31):
Is this Pamela Anderson Liam Neeson thing real? I saw
a couple of clips yesterday that they were getting chummy
and being fun during the press junket.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
Sources, I think No. I don't have sources on it,
but I did see these clips. They were on the
Today Show, and I don't, you know, sometimes you act
lovey dovey, you know. I think Sydney Sweeney and Glenn
Powell did that. They were in a movie and they
were both in relationships, but they were very love They
were selling it and I don't know it fell of
(07:02):
them are in relationships anymore, though, I know, yeah, they
were selling it a little too well. I think Leslie
neil Or I think Liam Neeson and Pam Anderson seemed
like an item.
Speaker 9 (07:16):
There.
Speaker 3 (07:17):
There was a picture where Pam had her sons there
and Liam Neeson had his sons there, and they're both single,
and it just felt like there was there was something
going on, felt like there were some sparks going on there. Yes, unt,
I will hunt you down.
Speaker 7 (07:34):
I will find you, and I will take you out
to dinner.
Speaker 9 (07:36):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (07:38):
That's how he got her.
Speaker 11 (07:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
Do you think he did that taken voice?
Speaker 2 (07:42):
Yeah, Todd does that voice occasionally, just walks around nobody
in particular that he's speaking to, and then he'll do
his Leslie.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
I always say, Leslie, Liam Neeson, why don't we.
Speaker 7 (07:52):
Grab some coffee sometime, perhaps this evening.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
I will hunt you down and I will kill you
the chicken.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Yes, but good for every time you see Pam Anderson,
it feels like every picture says make up free Pam Anderson.
Speaker 9 (08:12):
Now.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
I saw her in the Last show Girl, and she
was really good in that movie.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
It's it's about a showgirl in Las Vegas and she's
getting old. They're gonna stop doing the showgirl performances. And
I thought she came off very well. I thought, you know,
you don't. I don't think you think Pam as a
great actress, But in this role, I thought she was
really good and good for her if she found love.
(08:43):
Wasn't she married to somebody for like forty eight hours?
Speaker 9 (08:48):
Some was it?
Speaker 2 (08:49):
Robert Evans, The movie executive. I think she went to
see Julian Assange. Is that his name.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
I think at the time he was known as the
luckiest man in the world for forty eight hours. Yes, yes,
but the Weekender I think they called it. Well, he
was gonna use the Weekender.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
Yeah. You don't have to get married, Yeah yeah, just.
Speaker 4 (09:11):
Get married on a Friday, devo on a Monday.
Speaker 3 (09:13):
Yeah, all right, Hey, no harm, no foul. Yeah, I
bet you just go out, you know what.
Speaker 4 (09:17):
It was fun while it lasted, and then that's it.
Speaker 6 (09:21):
Yes, Paul, I'm trying to find a hard news report,
no pun intended. Liam Neeson's seventy three years old, she's
fifty eight. I found nothing on NPR or BBC. But
I did find People magazine report.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
That's my bible.
Speaker 5 (09:34):
That's right.
Speaker 6 (09:34):
Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson are dating. It's clear there's
smitten exclusive source to People.
Speaker 4 (09:41):
But then you had Martin Short and you had uh,
the great actress Selena Gomes No, no, not her, but she's.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
In that series. No, who's the greatest female on Eryl Street? Yes,
Meryl Street.
Speaker 5 (09:57):
Their getting that for it.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
Well, I don't know if it's that. I don't know
that's the description. I think they're dating.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
Like I think she got divorced and I think her
they met on only Murders in the building and they're
going out with each other. I believe they are going
out with each other. That's hot, although I read where
they're right now going through a rough patch.
Speaker 5 (10:17):
But all right, let it breathe a little bit, let's
get into it.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
Yes, but yeah, I think uh Liam Neeson and Pam Anderson,
they're they're getting after it. Well, like I said, I
don't know what that means, or have you ever been smitten? God,
you strike me as you're smitten just about every night
when you watch local newscasts.
Speaker 7 (10:41):
Four a week, something I got just my eye gets
me sweat.
Speaker 3 (10:45):
And nobody watches more local news than Fritzy.
Speaker 7 (10:47):
Shout out to Rachel Frank, Fox sixty one News.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
Thank you, Tod. All righty, So we're just getting started here,
and do we have a poll question to start seton?
Speaker 12 (10:57):
We do?
Speaker 4 (10:58):
I think we're doing that after the break.
Speaker 5 (11:01):
No, we need to dice.
Speaker 4 (11:03):
We need to digest some of the news that we've
just made.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
Okay talking about here, Okay, all right, DraftKings just sent
me the nl MVP odds in the American League MVP odds,
and it's basically show Hayo tanis in both. It is
it show Heyotani over Pete crow Armstrong. But it's getting
(11:26):
interesting in the American League because cal Raley is not
that far behind Aaron Judge. When you know, with these
MVP onds right now, Aaron Judge is minus one sixty.
Cal Rawley is plus one thirty. So he's in the
rear view mirror of Aaron Judge right now, and Judge
is injured. Show Heyotani minus two thousand, Pete Crow Armstrong
(11:52):
plus thirteen hundred.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
That is a I would make room in my trophy case.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
If I'm Otani, I would say to my hun got
to make room for another one of these MVPs.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
That would give him four. I believe, yes, Pauline.
Speaker 6 (12:07):
And Otani's pitching a little bit more every week and
pitching well in his six appearances so far this year,
twelve innings but thirteen k's, three walks, only two earned runs.
He's pitching fantastic.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
But you can frame the box score July twenty nine
to twenty twenty five that Sho he O'tani looked human
because we all know he's extraordinary, he is the unicorn.
But last night against the Reds, he struck out four
consecutive times. Now he's struck out four times in a
game a couple of times in his career. More importantly,
(12:42):
the Dodgers won this but shoe Hey, Otani was a
mere mortal last night. Four consecutive strikeouts there, but they
did get the win. Trade deadline will come up tomorrow.
Lucas and Texas leads us off this morning. Hi, Luke,
what's on your mind today?
Speaker 9 (13:00):
Hey to and good morning.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
Good morning.
Speaker 11 (13:03):
Very temporarily, Lucas and Kentucky are some work and then
tonight it's going to be Lucas and Cincinnati's. I'm going
to the Dodgers Reds game, excited for that. But I
just wanted to bring up two baseball things. I know
we're about to jump into football season full time. But
number one, looking at like the third market, our aftermarket
ticket sales, the Otani effect is so real. The difference
(13:25):
between tickets last night and today is more than double.
I mean, it's a real effect that he has, even
especially on the road. But the other thing, I know
there's been discussion about Rob Manfred and some of the
you know, the frank discussions that are having about the
future of the game. I do want to give credit
where credit is to. I've been to three different parts
(13:47):
this year, three different games in person, and if you
haven't over the last couple of years, the changes that
they've implemented with pitchclock, with time between innings has made
a noticeably better effect on the end game experience. It's
like actually at the stadium before you know it. You
look down at your watch in the eighth inning and
you're like, man, we've only been here for two hours.
It's a noticeably better effect and I wish more people
(14:10):
would see it. But got to give credit where credit
it is due.
Speaker 2 (14:14):
Thank you, Lucas. Yeah, and I spoke about Rob Manfred
going into the Phillies locker room. I don't know the
full details. I know what was reported. I don't know
if something led up to the confrontation between the commissioner
and Bryce Harper. I just was disappointed that Bryce Harper
is using that language to the commissioner in front of everybody.
Speaker 3 (14:37):
And I'd like to know more.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
We've invited both on and because I know going in
there and talking about a salary cap the players don't
want to hear that. But I do give the commissioner
credit that at least he was meeting with people face
to face. But I don't think you need to say
get the f out of here if you're Bryce Harper.
Would Bryce Harper say that if it was just the
commissioner and Bryce Harper and they're meeting in his office
(15:02):
in New York City? Or how would the Bryce Harper
take it if he came to see the commissioner and
the commissioner said get the f out of here, It
wouldn't go well. But the commissioner his job is to
oversee the health of the game and moving it forward.
I think he's done a really good job in some areas,
a really good job. You know, he whiffed on the astros.
(15:26):
I don't like the let's start at second base and
the tenth inning. I don't like that, But there's some
other things that he's implemented that have helped the game.
His job is to grow the game. Sometimes you grow
the game and you're not making friends, or you're making
friends on one side and not the other side. And yes,
the commissioner does work for the owners, but Bryce Harper
(15:47):
to say it and the commissioner didn't back down. He
wanted to stay in there. But I'd like to know
a little bit more about it, because there's probably three
sides to this. But I was just surprise that give
the commissioner the respect for coming in there. You may
not like what he's gonna say, but you should still
(16:08):
respect him. All Right, we'll take a break. We'll come
up with our poll question. Got our play of the day.
Stat of the Day has always brought to you by
Panini America eight seven seven three DPHO. That's eight seven
to seven three DP. Show operator Tyler sitting by. He'll
take your phone calls. We're back after this Dan Patrick Show.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
Be sure to catch the live edition of The Dan
Patrick Show weekdays at nine am Eastern six am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio wapp.
Speaker 13 (16:36):
Hey, We're Cavino and Rich Fox Sports Radio every day
five to seven pm Eastern. But here's the thing, we
never have enough time to get to everything we want
to get to.
Speaker 14 (16:45):
And that's why we have a brand new podcast called
over Promised. You see, we're having so much fun in
our two hour show. We never get to everything, honestly,
because this guy is over promising things we never have
time for.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
Yeah, you blubber lit lame and me.
Speaker 13 (17:00):
Well, you know what it's called over promise. You should
be good at it because you've been over promising women
for years. Well, it's a Covino and Rich after show
and we want you to be a part of it.
We're gonna be talking sports, of course, but we're also
going to talk life and relationships. And if Rich and
I are arguing about something or we didn't have enough time,
it will continue on our after show called over Promised. Well,
if you don't get enough Covino and Rich, make sure
(17:20):
you check out over Promised and also uncensored by the way,
so maybe we'll go at it even a little harder.
It's gonna be the best after show podcast of all time.
Speaker 14 (17:28):
There you go, over promising and remember you could see
it on YouTube, but definitely join us. Listen Over Promised
with Cavino and Rich on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts
or wherever you get your podcasts.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
I mentioned show.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
Hey u Tani struck out in each of his first
four plate appearances. Dodgers beat the Reds. That's the first
time he's done that in nine hundred and eighty one
games in Major League Baseball. He struck out four times
in a game six times in his career, including once
earlier this season. He will be pitching tonight against the
Cincinnati Reds. We uh were talking earlier before the show
(18:05):
started about the nickname. You know, sometimes you'll get a nickname.
Some players give themselves a nickname. Travis Hunter is called
the Unicorn. Now Chris tom Sportzingis was called the Unicorn.
We have different players, I think who have been called
the unicorn. And Travis Hunter was asked about the nickname.
Speaker 5 (18:27):
Travis, we got to come up with a nickname for
you us nobody does.
Speaker 3 (18:31):
What you do is the unicorn.
Speaker 5 (18:34):
It is unicorn. Dad, get it out there and get
some posters and stuff for.
Speaker 9 (18:38):
That kind of thing.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
Yeah, I'm I'm gonna ill see what I could do.
Speaker 4 (18:40):
I like it.
Speaker 7 (18:41):
I like the Unicorn.
Speaker 15 (18:41):
I'm selling the machine though, because you play all those plays,
how many plays do you think you could play?
Speaker 7 (18:46):
Think you can play them all?
Speaker 4 (18:47):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (18:47):
I definitely think I could play them all. If I
didn't think I could play them all, won't be trying
to do it all.
Speaker 3 (18:52):
Right, So he's been called the Unicorn.
Speaker 2 (18:54):
I think he was called that in college, and uh
now in Jacksonville his rookie year and words getting around
a little bit deeper in NFL circles of being called
the unicorn. I don't know how much he's going to
play on offense this year, but if you look at
last season when he won the Heisman Trophy, he was
(19:15):
part of almost eighty seven percent of the offensive plays
and he was part of eighty three percent of the
defensive plays. If I'm going to look at what will
be the percentages in the NFL probably start out eighty twenty,
(19:37):
eighty percent, twenty percent. How do you use him? Can
you bring him in as a decoy? How much do
you want to have him playing defense? Then do you
wait till third down for offense? Now he is young,
so I'm guessing that he knows what he's capable of doing.
This is just a question of if you have a
new head coach and Liam Liam Cohen, and how much
(20:00):
do you want to use him? You need him, You
definitely need him, and you start to wonder how much
can you use him? This is that you know, rookies
talk about hitting the wall in all sports. Where you go, boy,
this is a long season. And it is because you know,
the game is more demanding than college. Now, college they're
(20:21):
playing fourteen, fifteen games if you include the bowl game.
Now you have a seventeen game schedule, and maybe you
go into the postseason, maybe you add a couple more
games there. But they'll they'll talk about hitting the wall,
and I think that would be the one thing that
I would caution it and the Jags on is how
can I keep him? I need him fresh and ready
to go late in the season. We don't need to
(20:43):
do it to get attention here. We can build on this.
Let's see how well he plays, Let's see how well
he plays defensively, and then we can bring him over offensively.
I just I don't want him splitting and I don't
want him being good at both. I would like for
him to be great at one of them, and then
if he's really good at the other one or good
(21:05):
at the other one, you know that that's going to
be an unbelievable start to his career. I'm surprised there
there hasn't been that much fanfare. And granted he plays
for Jacksonville, but Shador Sanders. The attention for Shadoor Dwarfs
Travis Hunter. Cleveland passed on Travis Hunter in speaking of
(21:26):
the Cleveland Browns. Jimmy Haslam is the owner of the Browns,
and he was asked who made the call draft night
to take Shador Sanders.
Speaker 16 (21:37):
We have good.
Speaker 17 (21:37):
Process, okay, And if you just told me Friday night
driving home, y'all are going to pick Shador, I would
say that that's not happening. But we had a conversation
early that morning, and then we had a conversation later
that day. I think we had the right people involved
in the conversation at the end of the day.
Speaker 3 (21:53):
That's Andrew Berry's call. Andrew made the call to pick Shador, Okay.
Speaker 2 (21:58):
Now it felt I thought too when I heard that
if this goes south, you know who to blame. But
also maybe Jimmy Haslam is finally doing the right thing.
That you're not a smart football guy. Did you make
the call on Deshaun Watson? And if you did, that's
why you should turn it over to your football people
(22:19):
because you gave him a completely guaranteed contract there.
Speaker 3 (22:23):
But this is on Andrew Berry, your GM. He made
the call with Shadoor Sanders.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
Now I was told differently, But the owner is telling
you because I think that there was a phone call
or two made without getting too specific about this, to
nudge Jimmy Haslam to take Shador Sanders, and I think
that's what happened. But and look, if they get one
(22:53):
of these courts, nobody's talking about Dylan Gabriel and he
was taken before Shadoor Sanders and had a decorated college
career here, far more decorated than Shaudor. But you know,
there's the possibility that shud Or Sanders could be the
quarterback for them. I don't think if you emerge as
the starting quarterback, it's Kenny Pickett, it's a forty year
(23:15):
old Joe Flacco, and Dylan Gabriel. I mean, it's not
exactly Marino and Elway and Jim Kelly. But you know,
it feels like Shaudor Sanders has some obstacles in front
of him that his name helped him, but his name
is hurting him a little bit because we're like, Okay,
let's see how great you are, and we saw how
(23:37):
far he slipped. But the only thing I can go
on is my source told me that he's acted mature.
Aside from the speeding tickets that when he's he's on
the football field, he's business. It's it's not there's no
sense of entitlement. I don't know what that means. I
don't know how that translates to can you play on Sunday?
Speaker 3 (23:59):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (24:01):
And when people say, well, you got the Sanders name,
he's not an athlete like his dad. He's just not.
He's a drop back, pocket passer. He's not going to
beat you with his legs. I'm told that he is
more athletic than people are giving him credit for. I said, well,
the problem is his dad is one of the great
athletes who's ever played the game. But by all accounts,
(24:24):
it feels like he is ingratiating himself to his teammates.
And that's really important. But I just want to know,
can you play on Sunday?
Speaker 3 (24:32):
That's it.
Speaker 2 (24:33):
And it still feels like Joe Flacco is going to
be a starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, Like that's
the safe pick, that's where I would go because we're
talking about cam Ward. Is cam Ward going to be
ready for the Titans? He has to be, but Shador
doesn't have to be ready or Dylan Gabriel, Kenny Pickett's
battling an injury, but it might be Joe Flacco, and
(24:56):
Joe Flacco might give you a better chance of winning
because you get all that experience. I mean, he's a
pocket passer as well. And I'm not sure if they
have a game plan. Great, because they have two first
round picks next year. I want to know how much
time they'll give Dylan Gabriel and Shador Sanders to see
(25:20):
if they can actually play starting quarterback in the NFL.
Because if you remember, Colin Cowherd had the speculation, I
can't say it's a report that the Browns would maybe
bring in Nick Saban and then draft arch Manning. Well,
Jimmy Haslam, the Browns owner, was talking about arch Manning.
Speaker 3 (25:41):
Well, Tony, you know, you're.
Speaker 17 (25:42):
In the business and you get paid by how many
hits you get, Okay, And I think if you know
the Manning family, I would bet that.
Speaker 3 (25:47):
And I don't know Arts at all.
Speaker 17 (25:48):
Okay, I bet he stays in college two years, So
I don't even think that's worth discussing.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
Okay, that's the way I feel. Arch Manning is going
to play two more years.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
That it's not so Nick Saban's going to wait two
more years for arch Manning and then you've got to
make sure you draft him. It just seemed, you know,
like a long shot that any of those possibilities could happen,
you know, and maybe maybe Shoud or Sanders or Dylan
Gabriel is his starting quarterback and you could turn your
(26:20):
attention to somebody else. I don't think the Browns are
going to be that good. I think the over under
might be five wins, five and a half wins. I
think the team to keep an eye on being bad.
Speaker 3 (26:31):
The Giants.
Speaker 2 (26:33):
Feels like the Giant season hinges on Malik Neighbors staying healthy,
and then there was a report yesterday where he got
banged up a little bit. You can't lose him because
they got a tough schedule. You're in that division and
you've got three quarterbacks, two quarterbacks. You know, Jackson Dart
is he going to play? You got Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston.
(26:57):
It just feels like, and look at their schedule when
you pull up their schedule, PAULI, because the Giants could
be like one in eight, maybe you know, one in seven,
something like two and seven to start out, because it's
pretty tough sledding for the Giants right out of the gate.
Speaker 6 (27:15):
Yeah, the Giants are at the Commander's at Dallas, host
the Chiefs, hosted, Chargers at the Saints. Little break than Eagles, Broncos, Eagles, Niners.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
Yeah, all better teams. It's pretty tough.
Speaker 2 (27:29):
You could know where the Giants stand after around nine games,
and it feels like it's make or break for that coach.
Maybe the front office there what happened with Saquon Barkley?
You get you know, you take Jackson Dart? Is he
going to play this year? Are they even going to
be around to help develop him? But that schedule is
pretty tough. I think it's one of the top five
(27:52):
toughest schedules in the NFL. Yes, Paully and Elik neighbors
for the Giants last year. One of the most targeted
rookies in NFL history. He started thirteen games, one hundred
and seventy targets. He caught one hundred and nine balls
for seven touchdowns. He's a great player, great player, But
is Rusher starting quarterback? And how long till Jackson Dart?
(28:18):
Do you wait until maybe the season is a wash
and then you bring in Jackson Dart and then you
start to see what you have to build for the
future because it feels like the Giants could be the
worst team in the NFL. They're at least in the conversation,
and that's not a conversation you want to be involved
(28:38):
in yet, Paul, going back.
Speaker 6 (28:39):
To Cleveland, Shandor Sanders started fifty games in college. Dylan
Gabriel started sixty four games in college. He played six
college seasons.
Speaker 9 (28:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (28:49):
Yeah, those guys with the COVID years, you know, they
put up, you know, big numbers as far as starts,
and that's you know, that's a great sample size. But
I haven't heard much about Dylan Gabriel. But part of
that is he might be performing better than Shadover Sanders,
but Shadover Sanders is going to get the coverage so
much so he's getting more coverage than Travis Hunter, who
(29:12):
is going to be a legitimate maybe every down player, incredible,
and the unicorn. He wants to be called the unicorn.
I'm fine, good, good, you know, yeah, Pauling.
Speaker 6 (29:25):
We're working on some how about the hybrid you get
a car deal. I don't think anyone's been called the hybrid. Okay,
covers both things.
Speaker 3 (29:35):
Okay, Todd, you got any nickname suggestions?
Speaker 7 (29:39):
Hey, don't have anything great yet, but I'll continue to
think about it.
Speaker 5 (29:41):
Okay, I don't want.
Speaker 7 (29:43):
To force it.
Speaker 2 (29:44):
Oh, you don't wait till later. I'm going to guess
in the next ten minutes, you'll probably have some realis.
Speaker 9 (29:52):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (29:53):
Yeah, yes, I'm good to guess.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
Alan Hershey, Pennsylvania High Al. What's on your mind today?
Speaker 9 (30:01):
Hey?
Speaker 3 (30:02):
How Glenn in San Diego? Hi, Glenn, what's on your
mind today?
Speaker 9 (30:10):
Damn? Thanks for taking my call.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
How are you guys doing great?
Speaker 4 (30:13):
Glenn?
Speaker 9 (30:14):
Hey, listen, I just had a suggestion and a request.
I'm going to give you the request first, so I
don't choke on this. The Harbor mannequin, can't we upgrade
him to charger gear this year? Because I really believe
we're going to go to the AFC Championship. Unfortunately to
lose to the Bills, but we are going places this year.
And I think you guys should use Jacklink Sausages your
sponsor for the jack Off, because, rather you realize it
(30:35):
or not, this Jackof's going to be huge.
Speaker 3 (30:36):
All right, Well, thank you, thank you, Glenn.
Speaker 2 (30:39):
We appreciate that if the Chargers go to the AFC
title game, then we'll change the Jim Harball Michigan Mannequin,
Michigan man.
Speaker 4 (30:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (30:51):
Do you think we're safe keeping the Jim Harball Michigan Mannequin?
Oh for sure.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
Really the Chargers AFC title game. Okay, I'm not mining in.
I can't do it anymore. I did it too long,
too many years.
Speaker 3 (31:04):
I can't do it.
Speaker 2 (31:05):
Even if they get there, I'd be like, great, it's
just like Arizona basketball. If they make the Final four,
then I'll go Okay, hey, I'll eat my words here.
Speaker 6 (31:14):
Yes, I think you're making a horrible mistake. You've been
on the Chargers since I've known you, and they were
eleven and six. Last year they added a great running
two great running backs. Harball always wins.
Speaker 5 (31:26):
They went from five to twelve to eleven and six
with the same basic roster. I know I am all
in on the.
Speaker 12 (31:31):
All in, all in, all in, all in, all in,
But what's that mean I would be here's the bet
for you.
Speaker 5 (31:42):
I'll bet that they win a playoff game. Okay, all in.
Speaker 3 (31:47):
Ish ish, that's not AFC title game.
Speaker 5 (31:51):
Let me let me consider it one.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
Okay, Look, Carball has a formula. I mean that he
knows what the recipe is. No matter where he is,
he tries to incorporate the same recipe. They're a running
team defense and Justin Herbert, we need you to be magical.
You don't have to be Superman. You can be Clark Kent.
(32:14):
This is what Daniel Jeremiah, this former scout said yesterday
on the show. You can be Clark Kent, but occasionally
be Superman. That's all you need. I think he joins
us on the program tomorrow. Justin Herbert right Ton, correct,
thank you, Tod.
Speaker 3 (32:27):
Yes, Paul.
Speaker 6 (32:27):
Chargers outscored their opponents last year by one hundred and
one points. The Chiefs outscored their opponents by fifty nine.
Just to give all a comparison. They won their last three.
The Chargers are.
Speaker 5 (32:37):
Poised, but then they had the playoff game that always
gets in the way from it.
Speaker 3 (32:42):
Yeah, it does at damn playoff.
Speaker 6 (32:46):
If they could jump from Week seventeen to the Super Bowl, Yes,
is Philip Rivers going to join us, Tod, Yeah.
Speaker 7 (32:51):
It's a big Chargers date.
Speaker 2 (32:52):
Tomahow Okay, all in, let's get Ladanian, Tomlinson and Dan Founce.
Speaker 3 (32:59):
I would round it up yeah, Atron means come on,
Chuck Munsey, Oh the glass, Chuck Munsey with the glasses.
Stan Humphreys, come on.
Speaker 5 (33:09):
Okay, line a little train, James and on deep.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
Cut ron Yary former number one overall pick I think,
great Lineman.
Speaker 3 (33:18):
How about we take a break and our Play of

Speaker 3 (33:41):
This is the play of the day.
Speaker 7 (33:44):
Check this out.
Speaker 10 (33:44):
Schwarber blast it high a deep right field. Forget about
it whole. That one's gone way up onto the light
landing and right field is Kyle Schwarber with an absolute
bomb to right field. It's his thirty seventh of the
sea and it's born And I think Phillies.

Panini America dot net Seaton, would you update the poll results? Well,
we got a couple of options here. We've got one
from Marvin. We've got a couple from the t O dub.
This one's funny to me. It cracked me up.
Speaker 4 (34:39):
I think it reads better than it sounds.
Speaker 3 (34:43):
But which is this?
Speaker 4 (34:43):
This is from Todd? Which is the strangest sighting? A
solar or a lunar eclipse, a meteor shower, a UFO
type object in the sky, bigfoot sasquatch, lockness, monster kind
of thing.
Speaker 3 (34:55):
Where did this come from?
Speaker 4 (34:56):
A paranormal encounter? Strange noises or ghostly or apparition or
shoheo tani striking out four times?
Speaker 2 (35:06):
Kind of reads better that it says. Okay, yeah, and
it reads better if I'm not interrupting you as well.
Speaker 3 (35:12):
Yeah, okay, all right.
Speaker 7 (35:14):
So there's another stringer sighting.
Speaker 4 (35:16):
We have another one here from Todd. If I was
a star player in a contract dispute, I would hold in,
hold out, or ask to be treated altogether.
Speaker 2 (35:23):
Well, I'd hold in Uh, just so I don't lose
that money. Trey Hendrickson coming back. I don't think they're
close at all to a deal. Well, I shouldn't say that.
I think both sides know what it would take to
get a deal done. It's like whenever there's a lockout
a strike there, it comes down to just a couple
(35:44):
of things, and they know, give in on that, We
give in on that, and then we can come up
with agreement. This is about guaranteed money with Trey Hendrickson,
you know, Terry McLaurin, same way, MIKEL.
Speaker 3 (35:53):
Parsons, same way.
Speaker 2 (35:55):
But yeah, I would hold in and just say, man,
that back is a little bit sore, and then you're
at least there for team functions, yeah, Paul.
Speaker 6 (36:04):
And also I think the hold in keeps the fans
even more on your side. Like he's there, Michaeh. Parson's
just standing there with a bag, helping out but participating.
Oh he wants the bag, yeah yeah, and he's going
to meetings. But if you hold out, sometimes the fans
will slowly turn on you.
Speaker 3 (36:19):
What else do we have, Seaton?
Speaker 4 (36:20):
Yeah, I think I would just show up. I want
everybody to get as much money as possible, I really do.
I think I would just show up and keep playing, though,
Oh so what happens if you get hurt? Yeah, I
think that's kind of the risk you take. I think
I would show up and keep doing the thing.
Speaker 2 (36:39):
You would put pressure on management and say I'm here
and I'm doing what I'm being paid to do.
Speaker 3 (36:45):
I'm asking you to be professional on your end as well.
Speaker 4 (36:49):
I think I'm kind of a maybe to my own detriment,
but I'm kind of a like, keep your head down
and do your job and everything will work out kind
of guy. Doesn't It's not necessarily always the case, but
you are sort of relying on like that, your owner
to come to the table. You know, I think I
would do that. I think I would still just show up,
do work and let my agent handle that stuff.
Speaker 3 (37:13):
But if you get hurt, they're not taking care of you. Correct.
Speaker 2 (37:16):
And this is this is Trey Hendrickson's last contract. This
is this is the last time he'll be in a
position or close to this position that he's going to
be able to ask for this kind of money.
Speaker 4 (37:27):
I don't I don't begrudge anybody for holding out or
doing what they think is the right thing. To do.
Speaker 10 (37:32):
I do.
Speaker 4 (37:33):
I do think I would be more active than less
active in the day to day.
Speaker 6 (37:38):
To be fair to Michael Parsons, he was asked about
not participating in camp. He said it was a back
issue and that not holding where he's not participating.
Speaker 7 (37:46):
To be fair to.
Speaker 5 (37:49):
Just his quote, you could take it as you like.
Speaker 3 (37:52):
Yes, yes, you could be trying to do.
Speaker 15 (37:55):
The right thing by holding in and showing up and
thinking that could help. But the owners or front office
could look at it as a sign of weakness. Are
oh he blinked first, they're caving a little bit.
Speaker 7 (38:04):
So he showed up. So I think we can work
on a lower price for this guy.
Speaker 3 (38:08):
No, he's showing up so he doesn't get fined. That's it.
Speaker 2 (38:13):
He's still gonna want his money. I don't know what
the numbers are. I don't know if I've heard any
figures with maybe Ian Rappaportal know that he joins us
next hour, Todd, you came up with Travis Hunter nicknames?
Speaker 7 (38:27):
Yeah, I do have a few I like to run by.
Speaker 3 (38:29):
Okay, one would be them.
Speaker 15 (38:31):
Since he's playing both sides of the ball instead of him,
everybody says him, so what about them?
Speaker 7 (38:36):
Need them? Okay, I have a couple of similar ones,
but they're not exactly so.
Speaker 3 (38:41):
Can duel can dual?
Speaker 2 (38:42):
So it can do?
Speaker 7 (38:44):
I have can.
Speaker 15 (38:45):
Duval since he's what the jaguars, and I have both
dacious instead of bodacious, both dacious and mister Universal.
Speaker 7 (38:55):
Mister Universal, that's.
Speaker 3 (38:57):
What I have already. You know it could have taken
a little extra time if you wanted to.
Speaker 7 (39:03):
If you gave me like a ten minute window.
Speaker 18 (39:05):
No, I said, you'll have names for me in ten minutes.
Knowing you, I don't know if it's gonna get any
better than those. Those weren't that great, Marvin. You know what,
the Unicorn's not that bad? Net after fix this Todd's unicorney,
mister Universe, No I knew.
Speaker 9 (39:22):
Thank you?
Speaker 16 (39:24):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (39:24):
David in Ohio, Hi, David, what's on your mind today?
Speaker 9 (39:29):
Mentioned that you're having Philip Riverers on the show tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (39:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 16 (39:32):
Not only can't he form a whole NFL roster with
all his children? I think he should win the Be
Fruitful and Multiply Award for in the NFL.
Speaker 9 (39:44):
So thank you.
Speaker 3 (39:46):
Well he's not who is it? Crow, Marty?
Speaker 7 (39:50):
Oh, he could have named all of his kids.
Speaker 3 (39:54):
That was a terrible moment.
Speaker 2 (39:56):
Were they I don't know it was he on like
the NFL network and they ask him, can you run
or hard Knocks? Was there hard Knocks? And they ask
him to name his kids? Yes, and he couldn't name
all of his kids. Oh boy, Chris in Pittsburgh, Hi, Chris,
what's on your mind today?
Speaker 9 (40:19):
Taking my call?
Speaker 19 (40:21):
I know that the NFL seasons about to start and
baseball is going to be bailed out and everyone's going.
Speaker 9 (40:26):
To forget about this story.
Speaker 19 (40:27):
But just curious of your thoughts on how concerning it
is with the Guardian's pitchers being suspended for gambling and
how prevalent you think it is in baseball and it's
just only a matter of time before it's all uncovered.
And then also just that compared to how the whole
a tawny investigation went and how he wasn't really held
(40:51):
accountable at all.
Speaker 9 (40:51):
It was all kind of put on his bookie, And
just do you.
Speaker 19 (40:54):
Think just because it's so tawny that that kind of
made that decision easy for baseball?
Speaker 3 (40:59):
It felt like it wrapped up too quickly for me.
Speaker 2 (41:02):
I don't know if there was any involvement whatsoever, but
it felt like it was a little too clean that
he didn't know, and his interpreter was, you know, betting
on all of these sporting events and losing millions and
millions of dollars. You got two members of the Cleveland
Guardians involved in a gambling investigation. It's going to happen.
(41:23):
It has happened, it will continue to happen. I just
worry because of the easy access to gambling, these guys
don't think they're going to get caught, or they think
it's harmless.
Speaker 3 (41:36):
Hey got a prop bet Hey I had some fun.
I bet on you tonight.
Speaker 2 (41:41):
They don't think that people are watching, and they are
because they have to, because the credibility of these leagues
are at stake every single day. We'll go camping, Ian Rapaport,
NFL Network Insider will stop. Buy in a half hour
from now, one of the books. Hope you'll join us
