(00:44):
on the show.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
That's my goal. Let's do that next Uh.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Yeah, you know, I'm gonna tell him that you always
mock his uh his crew neck shirts that he wears.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
Listen, he's not the kidneyore, you know how he always
wears those.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
He always wears like a very like a like a
weird very not like nerdle neck shirts. They're like more
of like a yeah, yeah, I'm gonna tell them you
make fun of them all the time. Hey, let's go
to your feedback. We're gonna get to Clayton Kershaw again
in a little bit. We're gonna reminisce some old school
blockbuster movies. Aaron Judges in the news as we get
closer to the All Star break. But let's say hi

(01:18):
to Dustin in Pennsylvania. We're talking about Pete lamest moments
and the worst things you've done in your life, but
in a lightweight not nothing bad. Travis Kelsey saying that
his dating show Chasing Kelsey was his worst.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
I thought that you were gonna bring up the fact
that I got married in Vegas by Elvis and then
I probably shouldn't have done that, but I was like, you.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Know what, I don't have any regrets. It was a
fun night.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Well how that work out for I mean it didn't
work out, but how many marriages in Vegas do work out?
Thought it was sort of a rock star thing to do.
I had good intentions. I don't regret it, so missteps,
but in once career and moments that you kind of
half at looking back, like, man, what a stinker that was?
Oh I got one. I got one as far as

(02:05):
some embarrassing moments. But let's go to Dustin first. What's
up Dustin?

Speaker 4 (02:09):
Hey, guys, thanks for taking my call. So how about
a couple about ten years ago, the greatest NBA player,
at least one of the greatest NBA players of all
the time, Kareem Abdul Jabar doing Diving with the Stars.
Do you guys remember that show.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Diving with the Stars. That's a thing. I gotta I
gotta look this up. I you know, I don't remember that?
Is that for real? Diving with the Star? Surprise? Rich
doesn't remember that because he watches Trash all the time.
I'm surprised. I know, I thought of something you did
that was ultimately embarrassing. Oh.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Thanks, So I think this movie franchise is awesome. I'll
start by saying that James Marsden is fantastic. Jim Carrey
one of my heroes. Son like the Hedgehog. I watched
these all recently with my kids.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
They have the action figures. We've watched them all.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
It's great, But Danny g I don't love if you
know this, Maybe like five six years ago, when we
were working over at ESPN, they're like, hey, can you
guys do a promo for a sales thing and it
involves Sonic the Hedgehog.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
We're like, yeah, sure, No I happen to call out
that one day.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
The one day I missed, I think it like my
kid was just being born, right, So I was like, Covin,
I'll do the show solo.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
They had some guy.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Come into the studio dressed in the Sonic costume and
they're like, all right, let's do a bit where Covino
races him down the hallway. And by the way, the
guy in the costume was given all sorts of attitude.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
It's like, yo, dude, you think I want to do this?

Speaker 2 (03:41):
So somewhere out there, man, I'm gonna try to find it.
It's Cavino racing a guy in a Sonic costume down
a hallway, and every song of the Cavino fake jumps
up to grab rings that aren't there. It's the weakest thing.
But you did it for the gram, you did it
for the paycheck. You did it because you sort of
had to. But I didn't want to do that.

Speaker 5 (04:00):
It's like you're in Alvin and the Chipmunks five. There's
a picture.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Also, don't make me bring up the time you came
out in a bikini for a stupid pageant.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
You were not a bikini.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
I came out and came out in an old time
three stooges bathing suit and did some goofy dance with
a Dick Van Dyke hat on like he was some
vaudeville Because.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
I was hosting a beauty pageant. There was like a
he did like a hello, my man, Hello.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
It was a comedy bit, like not gone well, it
was a comedy bit, but there was no comedy and
that picture's out there. So anyway, we all have those
embarrassing moments of chors. So Travis Kelsey's if he just
joined us was the fact that he was the star
of a dating show, so embarrassing that he was the
hot stud of the show.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
I'll give you one, he said.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
It was the weakest, most embarrassing moment of his career,
and I get it looking back. It was something he
probably didn't want to do, but he did. I'll give
you one more quick one, then we'll go to your
phone calls, we'll move on one time. A lot of
times for guys like us, it's like a sales appearance
or something that we do because we were, you know,
we're being team players, and it ends up like, oh,
why do we do that. There was one time where

(05:05):
they're like, Cavino and Rich for some charity event, can
you guys co host a Soul Cycle class?

Speaker 3 (05:13):
And we're like, yeah, sure, where you know what? It's
for a charity?

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Yeah, they're like, guys, can you wear these sleeveless shirts?

Speaker 3 (05:20):
And Cavino and I look like we're acing Gary.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
We're we're on little bicycles next to each other with sleeveless,
tight Soul Cycle t shirts. And by the way, when
you google image us, it's one of the first photos,
number one photos that want us till this day.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
It's embarrassing.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
I thought Rich was gonna say, because in radio again,
you do what you gotta do sometimes to make people happy.
They're like, guys, it was like Thanksgiving time, we really
needed to do something for the client. We're like, what
we need to like introduce her and we need you
to interview the queen butter Ball Turkey Lady. We're like
what we had. You remember that we had the woman

(05:58):
from the butter Ball Turkey Hotline. As I could guess,
We're like, yeah, we welcome major guest today.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
This is Butterballs but Mault.

Speaker 5 (06:08):
And by the way, I found a YouTube clip of
Kareem Abdul Jabbar in his first dive. It says he's
in a wetsuit. It says Kareem tries to dive. He
gets advice from David and Steve on how to improve
his technique.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
With the Star as well. All right, let's say hi
to Fish in PA. What's up? Fish? You're on with
Kevin and Rich.

Speaker 6 (06:28):
Hey, guys love it when you guys go way off
sports topics. But uh, I have a paccino one. But
with the with the Kelsey thing, it's almost like you're
giving or doing a job interview and they you know,
they're going to say strengths and weaknesses, and you say,
one of my weaknesses is I I'm too conscientious or.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
Something I care too much? Yeah, I'm too focused on work.

Speaker 6 (06:53):
Yeah, yeah, like I worked too long.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
You know my worst moment was when twenty five women
fought over me on a bed reality show.

Speaker 6 (07:00):
Yeah, that's the first thing I thought it, but it's
a Pacino movie where he's blind. I can't think of
the name of it.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Another bet, but you know, you know he's had a
couple of stinkers, but he's still out. Pa Gino, you're right.
Good call Fish and uh, you know, let's say hi
to John and Reno. Then we'll get back to a
little baseball, little kershaw. What's up, Johnny? He was talking
about sent of a Woman's not a bad movie, but yeah,
what up?

Speaker 3 (07:27):
Man?

Speaker 7 (07:28):
Hey, So it's all Vegas, Vegas, Vegas. You guys got
to come up here to Reno and Tahoe and check
out the shorties and all the boat It's gonna be
eighty five degrees up there. Cocktails twenty four seven.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
It's I've never been, I've never been. And listen, we're
trying to plan CRC twenty one. Let me tell you
we are.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
We're down to do a bunch of live broadcast this
coming year. We just had a big party in Vegas
and honestly, it was so much fun. So hey, keep
track of us at Kovin and Richard. We're gonna be
doing a lot of live broadcasts around the country this year.
So I promise you that all right, now last night
got to touch on it real quick again if you're
just joining us, Kavin on Rich and for Dan Patrick

(08:12):
as you wake up on the West Coast, a lot
of a lot of la people with smiles on their
faces after Clayton Kershaw, Oh my god, how how nail
biting was it when you see Dave Roberts on the
top step of the dugout, like do I how long
am I going to leave this guy in? And Danny
g yesterday I joked what if he stuck it?

Speaker 3 (08:32):
To?

Speaker 2 (08:32):
What's Dave Roberts gonna do? And then I felt bad
like I wished it into Yeah, you tried to put
the curse on. It was magical, It really was amazing,
whatever word you want. It was all those things because
it had to be done in that moment, as we
discussed first hour, because I don't think he was going
out again.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
It was already feeling forced, he was already pushing the limits.
He had to do it there.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
He had one more chance and he got it. And
that's what you in front of all those fans. It
was set up perfectly for the moment, and man, it
happened perfectly except for the unsy thing we'll talk about
that now, the second layer of it, because we already
focused on you.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
Think he would have went out again.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
No way, even though Roberts said he was gonna do
things unconventionally and do it different, because of this moment,
he had already done that.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
I don't think you extend it.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Even if Kershaw was like, I gotta go out there, No,
because now it just feels like too much. You don't
want to force it. Do you remember, was it remind
me I think I'm gonna nail this last year? Mike
Evans needed like only a couple more yards? Was it
Evans on Tampa?

Speaker 3 (09:41):
It was? And Baker tried to get him the ball
and it didn't work out.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
And then remember they got the ball back miraculously with
like ten seconds and he got him the pass to
was it to keep his thousand yard streak alive? When
it's forced, sometimes I don't care because I just love
the moment. And last night Dave Roberts was on the
border of having to force it. And you know, not
only Dave Roberts, So every fan that I was there

(10:08):
was like, Yo, it's gotta happen now, or we're not
part of this story. I'm not saying it wasn't a strike,
but that umpire knew that if he didn't wring him up,
he's letting fifty thousand people down, in fact, the world
of baseball down.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
Like I'm not saying you got it.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
That was a big league strikedown man, hit the corner,
hit the strike. Yeah, that was like such a perfect pitch.
I thought about would have been cooler if it was
a swing and miss the Vini gapra But nah, looking
was sweet. The whole thing was dope. It was perfect man.
And again, just to make it clear, I'm not a
Dodgers fan, but I'm a baseball fan. But I'm saying,

(10:44):
not gonna see any more of those. I'm saying that's
not the moment where the whole plane Umpire squeezes you,
because that imagine if he was like Bolt, that was
the moment where you're like, yo, nice hits the corner,
punch him mouth. But you know what I didn't see though,
the nice punch out. I just see him walking off
the field. It was the snow. It was the slow

(11:04):
like you know in the Empire. Instead of calling it
really uh no, I wanted like a Leslie Nielsen sort
of call in that moment.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
No, he did the he did the one like the
one second pause and then did the ring up.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Well, it's Cavino and rich In for Dan Patrick and
right now we're on AM five seventy, so let's hear
what they did last night.

Speaker 3 (11:27):
One two pitch, strike three.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
Crowd there it is. He got a little slider.

Speaker 8 (11:35):
Strikeout number three thousand for Clayton Kershaw history at Dodger Stadium.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
They will stop the game.

Speaker 8 (11:44):
Kershaw toffing his cap to the crowd. There's adoring crowd
here at Dodger Stadium as Clayton Pershaw.

Speaker 3 (11:53):
Enters the three thousand.

Speaker 8 (11:56):
Club, just the twentieth member and only the four with
the left hand or of the history of the game,
with three thousand strikeouts, every one of them coming in
a Dodger uniform.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
You wanted Leslie Niels and the ha ha. I wanted
to see a moonwalk. I wanted to see a little
you know, showmanship there. But it wasn't about the umpire.
He did the right thing, a did the right thing.
But man Kershaw really delivered their awesome moment again courtesy
of AM five seventy. Shout out to them and shout

(12:31):
out to all the affiliates, hanging out with Covino and
Rich and for Dan Patrick. But my second part Rich
because again first part of the observation of the celebration
last night was did he have to do it there?
The answer is yes, I don't care what you think
about him going out again. Maybe Dave Roberts says just
to a piece of fans, yeah, I would have let
him go no way, because it wouldn't have felt the

(12:53):
same either.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
He had to do it there. Second part is I
know for fact that you had a lot.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
Of tough LA mean mugging LA fans out there on
their feet, Guys like Danny g guys like you know,
Witness History that shed a few tears last night.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
And I think it's not even a debate is it
okay to shed a tear?

Speaker 2 (13:16):
Those are great, wonderful, beautiful moments you share with your family,
you remember for the rest of your life.

Speaker 3 (13:23):
So it's not is it okay to shed one?

Speaker 2 (13:29):
And I'm not being a mister softy pantsy either, because
I know there's no crying in baseball or whatever, but
there are moments.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
Where you do.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
There's all crying, there's moments where you do are there
other ones that come to mind? I was I was
talking about how Mike Schmidt sort of changed that he
opened the floodgates pun intended when he cried when we
were kids, and is I believe retirement It wasn't his
Hall Fame induction, right, it was his retirement. I remember thinking, like, Yo,
Mike Schmidt's gonna cry. That guy won the three MVPs

(13:58):
if he cries. That was I think it's a yeah,
that was an impactful moment. I remember as a kid. No,
you didn't see that a lot. And you're like, like,
think about it from your childhood standpoint, how many times
did you see your dad cry?

Speaker 4 (14:09):
Like?

Speaker 3 (14:09):
Never?

Speaker 7 (14:10):
Right?

Speaker 3 (14:10):
Once? Ever meeting?

Speaker 2 (14:12):
And then you see Mike Schmidt, Like, Mike Schmidt's crying
like that, and you're like, oh, okay, I guess there's
certain moments and happy tears and there's different reasons. It's
not because he was hit by a pitch and he's
the weenie guy who's like, oh I have I have
a couple of layers I want to add to the
Kershaw last night. I mean, did he set the record

(14:35):
for bro hugs or no? Every member of the team
is their account. Every member of the team got the
handshake into the bro hug. And I do wonder if
you're one of the ancillary once because.

Speaker 3 (14:47):
I know he was peaking.

Speaker 5 (14:48):
I was gonna say he was one hug away from
breaking the record, and that was because once he couldn't
get out there.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
I just say, like, there's ancillary guys or the role players,
and you wonder. You assume he's tightest with the guys
that have been there the longest of the stars. But
it is interesting, like if you're a Michael Confardo.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
Because he stinks he beat your Mets this year.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
D Now, if you're a guy like Michael Confordo, sure
he's a great guy and you played with him like
a year, you're probably not that tight. Does everyone going
for an equal bro hug? Like you know, if you
work at a company, if you're the new guy and
they're like John's been here fifty.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
Years, like you're like, hey, congratch John.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
But you let the people that know him sort of,
the guys who really are down with him squeeze his ass.
So as Pat, yeah, we'll ask Pat Taylor, that's what
it was. If you only played with him for a year,
you don't get the Pat of ask my other question,
you may have an answer right away. If you're in
the Chicago White Sox last night, you don't want to
be the guy.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
I get it.

Speaker 9 (15:50):
You know.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
The whole key is you want to be the one
that breaks up the no hitter. They always say the
answer to the trivia question is Vinnie Capra. You don't
want to be the answer to the trivia question. You
don't want to be the twenty seventh out of a
perfect game. However, if you're on the White Sox and
at that moment you were winning the game, if you're

(16:11):
gonna make an out, because let's be honest, three outs
are registered every inning. Are you as a baseball fan
because everyone that plays baseball is a fan of the game,
are you thinking to yourself like, yeah, let him get
it here.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
Or are you like, no, we want to ruin the day.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
If you're a White Sock, yeah, you don't want to
be the guyser to this review question.

Speaker 3 (16:31):
You want to win the game.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
Yeah, but I'm saying you think there are some players
on that team that respect Kershaw enough where they're like,
you know what, three strikeouts, We want to win the game.
But if he gets it, he gets it like when
he was at two and you're winning the game. Do
you think there's anyone that was like, Eh, let him
get it.

Speaker 3 (16:48):
I don't think so. They were ahead four to two
and they were pushing hard.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
But you think that there's not one guy on the
White Sox roster that was like, oh, it would be
a nice moment.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
Kershaw has done so much for the game.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
White Sox don't have a lot to play for, right,
so those are the small victories that their competitive nature
tries to win. You don't think you gonna let them
strike us out today. You don't think any almost pulled
it off.

Speaker 3 (17:10):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
I feel like there's probably some guys on the other
team that may have even played you with Clayton and said,
you know what, tip let me tip my hat. You're like,
he's gonna get it. He's either gonna get it with
one more strikeout here or it's in Milwaukee next week.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
We're talking the ultimate competitors. Yeah, and only Vargas.

Speaker 5 (17:27):
But we remember the famous picture last year when he
got traded to the lowly White Sox and he looked
like he was crying in the dugout.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
I would have I would have too, there's a part
of me, Danny. I'm just saying that.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
I think they could respect it once it happens, but
you're you're trying to prevent that from happening on your clock,
and unfortunately for the White Sox and Vinnie Capra, it
happened again when it had to. It had to be
that moment. Are there other moments, because I know Danny
g won't admit it, but I know he shed one.

(17:58):
Are there other moments where you remember clearly just standing up.
I got one for Rich that he doesn't even know.
I know you just like you slow clap in disbelieve
because what you saw was just so amazing and it
brought that emotion out. I've cried sappy, I've cried in sadness. No,
I remember watching Rich. I think it was when Tom
Brady had the miraculous comeback. I forget which tom Brady

(18:21):
victory it was, but I remember watching Rich staring at
the TV like with it, with one little.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
Magical tear running down his face Somewhere.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
I'm not even a Patriots fan, but when tom Brady
came back after being down twenty eight to three, the
guys do have a picture of me or a video
even that I'm sitting in my living room, I probably
had quite a few. He's sitting there like the thinker,
like you know, like his this, his head on his fist,
like his chin just laying there like my goodness. I

(18:53):
was then while he was doing the post game, even
though while the NFL film's music is kicked in and
they're passing around the trophy, right and Tom Brady was
in my Super Bowl, I had my fist on my
chin and I was not in my head back and
forth like damn great.

Speaker 5 (19:10):
A lot of dudes teared up recently when he was
seen with Sidney Sweeney.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
Yeah, or how about you know what?

Speaker 1 (19:15):
Did it again?

Speaker 2 (19:16):
I was like, great, speaking of Tom Brady honestly, if
you if I'm doing the ball scroll and I happen
to see the clip in a vulnerable moment when he
answers the question. You ever see a little kid or
someone asked him who's your hero? And he's like, who's
my hero?

Speaker 3 (19:31):
My dad?

Speaker 7 (19:31):
My dad?

Speaker 2 (19:33):
And you're like, ah, if you put that to sad music,
you're like, oh, Tommy stopping TB twelve. Yeah, there's certain moments.
I'll give you the lamest one that comes to mind
for me. I remember watching this rich You're gonna be like, really, yeah,
I'm serious. Maybe I was having an emotional week, all right,
leave me alone. I remember sitting by myself in my socks.

(19:56):
No one wanted to come watch to fight with me.
I was watching by myself and it was fat ass
Andy Ruiz versus Anthony Joshua, and I'm like, there's no
way this chubby Mexican dude is gonna beat Anthony Joshua.
This physical specimen of the ages. Joshua at the time
was like invincible, and Andy Ruiz, the chubby Voto local forever,

(20:20):
becomes the first Mexican heavyweight champion of the world. The
half Vatto inside of me couldn't have been more proud.
I was jumping out of my seat looking for someone
to hug in the moment no one was there and
just enjoy and pure joy.

Speaker 3 (20:36):
It was a cool moment.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
I was like, but I imagine that's how every Dodgers
fan felt yesterday, because look, it was a beautiful moment.

Speaker 3 (20:49):
It really was. That's why we watched sports.

Speaker 2 (20:51):
It was amazing, and so many people like Greg Jensen
to every Votto fan that I know who roots for
the Dodgers hit me up, Like, dude, I admit I
shed one last night because it was that perfect of
the moment. And then to have Freddie Freeman close it
out like that, it was a perfect Dodger's night minus Maxims.

Speaker 3 (21:08):
I was gonna say a minus because he made it traumatic,
like if it was a movie, that's what happens in
the movie.

Speaker 5 (21:16):
And then if there was any positive at all out
of it, Keik comes in and that's the longest tenured
teammate with Clayton.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
But dude, in any movie, right, you need the roller
coaster of emotions.

Speaker 7 (21:27):
Right.

Speaker 2 (21:28):
The monthly thing provided that, and then for him to
still come through after that just made it all the
more memorable.

Speaker 3 (21:36):
Mri on Monsey today, by the way, that didn't look good,
and they said that we're not going to show the replay.
I don't think it was. I think it was that bad.

Speaker 5 (21:46):
I don't like that if you want to preface it
by saying, all right, if you have a soft you know, stomach,
look away if it's bad.

Speaker 3 (21:54):
But he didn't like break his leg into like I've seen.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
Like Joe Thaisman, Alex Smith, or like you have any
college basketball player who you could so that you saw
the bone coming through his leg.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
It wasn't that.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
Ankled it and twist all the way around like Oswaldo
Cabrera's dude.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
Yeah, this this is more of just a man. You
could tell that something popped right, but it wasn't. It wasn't.

Speaker 5 (22:12):
Yeah, I wanted to see the replay. I'm like, don't
make up my mind for me, Like, let me decide
if I want to see that.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
Wishing Maximoncy the best but great moment for Dodgers fans.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
Look, you guys, you're already the greatest.

Speaker 2 (22:24):
Hopefully hopefully all the Dodgers highlights. We're getting through them now.
That way, come postseason, my Mets, you could get back
on track here, all right, Hey, we got more Cavino
and rich uh in for the great Dan Patrick, and
coming up, there's a quarterback in the NFL that I think, uh,
I think it's safe to say, is completely overlooked. When

(22:46):
we're doing all these preseason rankings of who are the
top ten quarterbacks? Overlooked by the city he plays for,
I think just everybody else tends to overlook him.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
Right, we'll get to that next in for Dan Patrick.

Speaker 1 (22:59):

(24:02):
show a couple of weeks ago talking about how tomorrow morning,
he returns to the hot dog eating contest at Nathan's
and he said he's going to try to put back
eighty hot dogs.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
And I just read a stat that every fourth of July.

Speaker 2 (24:21):
I mean, I know we're gonna be doing our grill
and my wife's trying to figure out what we're going
to do on the green egg.

Speaker 3 (24:26):
You know, dude, he's got a green egg. We're going
to break and we're.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
Gonna start smoking some meats. I think today for tomorrow
I am going to brag about it's pretty cool. Some
people like traggers, some people like green eggs. By day,
everyone loves grilling. In fact, the number one thing when
surveyed Americans say what reminds him of summer the smell
of the grill.

Speaker 3 (24:44):
But do you think.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
That Joey Chestnut is really going to put back eighty
Number one, that would be a record. And number two,
can you believe Americans eat one hundred and fifty million
hot dogs every fourth of July?

Speaker 3 (24:59):
That's uh thirty minutes off your life every that's no.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
No.

Speaker 3 (25:04):
Chestnut debunked that.

Speaker 5 (25:05):
When you talked to him, he said it was minutes, Like, yeah,
that's couple minutes that's what he said. I've read it
still adds up to a few years for him.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
What do you put on your dog?

Speaker 2 (25:14):
By the way, if I have an NFL quarterback thing
you want to talk about, but real co, what do
you put on your dog?

Speaker 3 (25:18):
Catchup and mustard?

Speaker 2 (25:19):
Yeah, a little both. I'm okay with that little relish.
Keep it simple now, I don't do you like.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
Those red onions that they do in the New York
City hot talk stands. I'm good with that. If you
have it a little mustard catchup, good for me.

Speaker 2 (25:33):
All right, Well, hey, we're getting closer and closer to
the NFL season, and listen, Baseball All Star break.

Speaker 3 (25:39):
That's on my mind.

Speaker 2 (25:40):
But hey, in a month from now, it's football until
the end of the year, which is wild right, we're
already back in it. And a lot of networks, a
lot of publications, a lot of streamers are putting out
their list of top ten NFL quarterbacks.

Speaker 3 (25:56):
And the one thing I realized is that.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
It seems to be a common sentiment that the top
four quarterbacks are agreed upon.

Speaker 4 (26:06):
It.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
It's like it's like the non spoken agreement that we
all have the core four. Yeah, I guess you would
say there is a core four. Now, I think everyone's
order is different, but safe to say that ninety percent
of people and analysts and fans are saying that, Well,
who was it that put out that list? It was Yahoo,
right who put out that list to the top and

(26:28):
they left off of they left off Jalen Hurr.

Speaker 3 (26:31):
Well, I'm gonna get to all.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
Yeah, but the top four as of right now, that's
it's very hard to argue in any particular order because
I think everyone's gonna put them in a different order. Mahomes,
Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow. I think that is
you're very safe to say top four. And what I

(26:53):
find to be funny the commonality all in the AFC.
The AFC right now is having a moment.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
It's like the Peyton Manning.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
I'm not gonna put Philip Rivers in maybe, but there
was a time where a lot of the eliaf quarterbacks
are in the AFC, and here we are put.

Speaker 9 (27:10):
Philip Rivers in there.

Speaker 3 (27:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (27:11):
I know he didn't win it a lot, but like
those stats he put up, that's Hall of Fame status.

Speaker 3 (27:15):
He's no doubt so Josh Allen, Mahomes Lamar Burrow right
there now.

Speaker 2 (27:20):
I think the funny part is when you get from
number five to ten, everyone's list is so all over
the place because I think we're having a hard time
really assessing and judging where we go from here. I
think Justin Herbert will be on everyone's list as a
top ten people. But people let their personal feelings get

(27:41):
involved in here too, because rich so badly wants to
wedge Brock party in there somewhere.

Speaker 3 (27:45):
But realistically, I may say he's right outside. But I
think that's why the bottom five.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
I think there's a realistic like you really can't debate
the top five within the bottom five.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
Is yeah, and your feelings get involved.

Speaker 5 (27:56):
And on our show Live from Vegas, we were debating
whether or not Baker may feel should be in the
top ten, which a lot of us think he is.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
Let's agree, Let's say let's because he won a Super
Bowl last year and it would.

Speaker 3 (28:07):
Almost be disrespectful not to put him on.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
Would you say, at this point, Jalen Hurts has proven
he's a top ten, I'd say he's number five.

Speaker 3 (28:15):
I think he is.

Speaker 9 (28:16):
Yeah, Like the physicality, you just cannot discount that. Okay,
So if we're gonna do maham about what he did.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
Man, he lost the Super Bowl, sat there and pounded
about it and said this isn't happening again on my
clock and he delivered.

Speaker 3 (28:28):
Man, that was awesome. All right. So I mean he
won a Super Bowl. He's a solid quarterback, all right?
So couldno hear me out here?

Speaker 2 (28:36):
How is he not on the list the four we
spoke of, right, Jalen Hurts because he got to be
respectful and justin Herbert because somehow, unless there's an outlier
in the network, I get to some people that say no,
But I think Herbert would make most people's top ten,
maybe not six, but I'm gonna say he's somewhere on
the top ten, even.

Speaker 3 (28:54):
Though he had a stinker in the postseason last year.
So that's six. I think.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
Now your final four spots are where every single person
is going to have a different answer. And I said
this one quarterback that I think gets so disrespected. He's
on Fox sports top ten quarterback list I just saw
on FS one, but he was not on the Yahoo list.
Danny g and profet, You're a LIONCE fan. Jared Goff
seems to get overlooked so much, And there was a

(29:20):
stat that came out ca me, you know, read how
his stats compared to Mahomes over the last three seasons.
He's better than Mahomes in every offensive category. And you'll
still argue, well, he's still not Mahomes, but the numbers
will dictate that Jared Goff's really good. Last three seasons.
Goff ninety six touchdowns Patrick Mahomes ninety four touchdowns, ninety.

Speaker 3 (29:47):
Four for Mahomes.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
So GoF more touchdowns Goff thirty one interceptions Mahomes here
thirty seven, thirty seven and GoF through for more yardage
actually slightly less, like twenty less yards.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
Oh no, I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
More more thirteen thousand and six, forty two, thirteen thousand
and six, forty two, Mahomes thirteen thousand and three, sixty one.
And yeah, man one hundred and one oh two point
seven passer rating versus ninety seven point three.

Speaker 5 (30:22):
Completion percentage simply eight to sixty seven point three.

Speaker 3 (30:26):
Passer rating game last year too.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
So yeah, all stats favorable, All those sets are favorable,
major stats for GoF over Mahomes. So it's like, how
do you leave if Mahomes is the guy? He's the
beacon of awesome in today's game. How do you leave
off Goff and all these conversations? And I said it
off here, I'll say it again, Detroit embracism.

Speaker 3 (30:49):
They love the guy.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
It's everybody else that sort of forgets about him or
undermines his accomplishments. I guess it's not it say he's
not doing it. He is doing it, and they love
him for it. A weird a mission because statistically, yeah,
seems like a great guy. He's a cool guy, he's
got beautiful wife. Like everything about Jared Goff you you would.
It doesn't make sense to me why he's left off.

(31:11):
Maybe because he was set up to be the guy
in LA and it, Yeah, it didn't work out.

Speaker 3 (31:16):
That's way those reasons. Yeah, I think it's that. And
then two other things.

Speaker 9 (31:19):
Number one, I think most people will try to point
to the Lions roster and say, well, it's all the
guys around him, But like that's true of every great quarterback.
Jalen Hurts has a great offensive line. Patrick Mahomes played
with Tyreek Hill, like you know, just because he's got
i'm und Ross, Saint Brown and Pine Sewel, Like that's
not a disqualifier. I think the other thing is, like
you will see kind of those low end games from

(31:39):
Jared Goff every now and then. What he did in
the playoffs last year was not good.

Speaker 2 (31:43):
He did have the remarkable last year. Didn't he have
a five interception game and still one against the Houston Texans.

Speaker 9 (31:47):
Yeah, it was at drugstore cowboy in LA and everyone
went nuts because like, yeah, it's he had five interceptions
with the second half he was on fire.

Speaker 2 (31:55):
So yeah, I'm gonna put not at number seven. But
I think we got to put Off on this list.
So now I think everyone in this room we could
all agree Mahomes, Jackson, Allen Burrow, and then we just
added Hurts, Herbert and Goff.

Speaker 3 (32:09):
That gives everyone three spots.

Speaker 2 (32:12):
And those three spots, you got to figure out who's
going to occupy your little imaginary top ten because then
it starts getting dicey, like are you putting Dak Prescott
in the top ten?

Speaker 9 (32:22):
I mean he's paid, like Mayfield, Stafford is a is
a fantastic quarterback. But the question is going into twenty
twenty five, he's starting to get old, He's starting to
get up there.

Speaker 2 (32:30):
And by the way, that's what most of the lists
are about it's not about their career accomplishments, about heading
into the next sets because you're gonna Tino Smith was
on that list and you're like.

Speaker 3 (32:41):
Well, Gino Smith, Yeah he's good.

Speaker 2 (32:42):
But it's because that's their thinking projection with and Yeah
and Raids there.

Speaker 5 (32:48):
You got to put the youngest quarterback in that group.
He proved a lot his rookie se season. Jaden Daniels
has to be somewhere there at the bottom of the
top ten.

Speaker 2 (32:57):
He's on He's on the Fox Sports list, but Jada
Da Daniels did not make that Yahoo list.

Speaker 9 (33:01):
Well, the problem is this kind of the CJ. Stroud
problem because c J. Stroud was fantastic his rookie year
and then what happens. Sophomore slump always hits these guys.
And I think people are trying to hedge a little
bit on Jade and Daniels because you just don't know
what he's going to be year two field.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
It feels like he's built different.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
Yeah, don't you don't you tune into games where he's playing,
and don't you tune into those highlights.

Speaker 5 (33:21):
That confidence and swag that he has. He's got an
aura about himself like he's a superstar already.

Speaker 3 (33:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (33:27):
To me, he's a must watch quarterback rich, So I
would say he's in my bottom third.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
Here Jade and Daniel CJ. Stroud. I picture it like
a concert headlining tour Baker Mayfield. The top four are in.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
Big font and then the next three are in smaller font,
then the next three are and you know they're up there.

Speaker 3 (33:48):
But yeah, I think Mayfield needs to be at the
bottom of the we.

Speaker 9 (33:52):
Want to talk about a quarterback. It's no respect Baker Mayfield.
Like I think people are still holding Cleveland against him.

Speaker 2 (33:58):
Yes, amazing And I said this when we first brought
up that Yahoo list, which was bunk as hell. And again,
lists are made to be discussed. They do these things
to throw it out there so that people bring it
up like hell in the world exactly, they leave out
so and so. But I forever have that image of
Baker Mayfield literally carrying players on his back and he's

(34:21):
marching down the field really trying to win for his team.
It's amazing to see how he turned his career around.
And I think he's.

Speaker 5 (34:30):
Easy to root for it And by the way, if
you want to go based on numbers from last year,
then Jordan Love and Brock Birdie would need to be
in the conversation.

Speaker 3 (34:37):
At the top.

Speaker 2 (34:38):
I'm telling you, so answer me this. Of those young quarterbacks,
I'm gonna give you three. You tell me if you
feel like one clearly stands out, all right, Jaden, Daniel Commanders, Okay,
c J. Stroud Texans, Jordan Lovepackers, those three guys so
in a little pocket together in your mind that like

(34:58):
we're waiting for one of them to emerge. Think about
that and think about way do you put a guy
like Brock Purty. Listen, I get it's not all about
who's top ten, but these lists are coming out, they're
fun to debate, and it is funny how we all
agree on like maybe five or six are definitely there
towards the bottom of the top ten. And Danny I
pointed this out last week on our afternoon show. Not

(35:21):
everyone's a top ten. There's thirty two teams in the NFL,
so there is a bottom third, there's a bottom ten,
and no one wants to admit that their guy.

Speaker 3 (35:30):
Might be in the bottom ten.

Speaker 2 (35:32):
So we'll take your feedback next Coveno rich In for

By the way, who do you start something by?

Speaker 7 (36:52):
Too?

Speaker 2 (36:52):
Who do you think they're considering the quote biggest snubs
this year? I know, I know there's still alternates that
are gonna be named to the team. But who do
you think the biggest snubs? Are just thinking right now
they're saying Elie de la Cruz that's the biggest one
and which I hate. And the polar Bear Pee Alonzo,
who's having a career year and he's made it before,

(37:14):
but he has not made it as of now.

Speaker 3 (37:16):
But I'm sure both of those guys will be added
at some point.

Speaker 4 (37:19):
We see.

Speaker 2 (37:19):
Well, thanks for all your feedback at Covino and Rich.

seven seven ninety nine on Fox. He want you to

You really nailed the call, Maybe Danny g I'll hook

Speaker 2 (38:26):
Listeners, if you've got some stainless steel CNR on FSR
swiggies to give away. But today throwing it back on
a Thursday, today's a special day.

Speaker 3 (38:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (38:36):
It's the day where all your Fourth of July movies
hit the theaters. And I'm sure this year it's gonna
be all about Jurassic World. Yeah, but it's also speaking
of blockbusters on this holiday weekend, it's also the fortieth
anniversary the release of Back to the Future Marty July third, nineteen,
nineteen eighty five, forty years since we met Doc Brown

(39:00):
and Marty McFly nineteen eighty five. A lot of us
were Little Kids, and I still believe it's the closest
thing to a perfect movie that was ever made. As
they say, it's a great movie now except for the
whole part where you know he's making out his mom
and stuff. Well, I would say the one, the one
missing explanation in the whole thing. Have you seen commit

(39:22):
I saw Comedian do this whole bit where it's I mean,
Biff was a little rough with Lorraine in.

Speaker 3 (39:26):
The car get your damn hands off for.

Speaker 2 (39:30):
It was never explained why, I don't know, a cool
teenage kid was hanging out with an old scientist.

Speaker 3 (39:37):
There was never like, oh, yeah, he's a friend that
this man being guitar amp. It was like, so wait,
it's going on with Doc and Martin had a nice relationship.

Speaker 2 (39:46):
It's like Daniel's son and Miagi. It's like, you know,
would you let your teenager hang out with a weird
old scientist. It's like us in our friendship with Mike
who runs this place?

Speaker 6 (39:55):
You know what?

Speaker 2 (39:57):
So I ask you, what were the biggest summer blockbusters
that you would put on the top of your list.
Let me name a couple, and I want to know
how you ranked these, Like if you had to make
a top three because on the fourth of July weekend,
the number one grossing movie at the box office Transformers
two thousand and seven, Megan Fox. But also you could

(40:20):
say back to the Future, you could say Will Smith
and Jeff Goldbloom, Independence Day, you could say Terminator two
that came out on this day. So we'll go with
some of your favorite blockbuster movies from fourth of July
coming up. Give me On rich In for Dan Patrick
having fun on a Thursday right now,
