the case for most of these coaches. Bill Belichick gets
credit for using the first four weeks as sort of
his preseason that he was not as concerned. Yes, you
do want to win, but he wants to know. You know,
those first four games, now I can figure out who
we are because offseason, preseason, you're not getting that many

reps with your team and you're not going to be
playing them during the preseason. Now you get into those
first four weeks and then after that you hope that
you can navigate how good your team is or the
weaknesses that you have. Sunday Night Football, Patrick Mahomes and
the Chiefs. They're in New York. They face the Giants
and that'll be Sunday night at seven Eastern on NBC

and Peacock, which is where you'll find this program Monday

it's the first of I think what three or four
Monday night doubleheaders with the Mothership in ABC? You got
the Buccaneers getting two and a half against the Texans
and the Chargers minus three and a half against the Raiders.

I'm sure that there is a reason for this with
the double headers, because you're taking maybe a one o'clock
game and putting it into primetime at one o'clock Sunday,
and then putting it into a Monday night. You're going
to stagger the games. I'm not keen on it now.
If you said Fox was going to show a game,
in ESPN was going to show a game, okay, but

this is ABC and ESPN. But I think there are
three or four of these Monday night staggered double headers.

Yeah, paem this season there will be five double headers
Week two, four, six, seven, and eighteen, and yeah there.
I think people like it because the odds are one
of the two is going to be a good game.
You increase your odds of a good night of football.

and you have the Bengals at the Broncos. No Joe
Burrow the Jets in Miami, and by then hopefully things
are better for Mike McDaniel. Week six, the Bills and

the Buccaneers at the Lions. That's tasty, the Texans at
the Seahawks, and then week eighteen to be determined. That'll
be on a Saturday, a Saturday doubleheader for Monday night
double headers, but you'll have the final one, the final weekend,

Yeah. If you complain about it, though, you'll end up
with Tuesday night football. We're not ready for that. We're

in place about Friday nights. I don't want to see

to score on every one of their first ten offensive
possessions of a season, the seven from the previous week.
They're also the first team in the Super Bowl era
they haven't punted yet in the first two games of
the regular season.

what's the flag? And they even when they're probably saying, oh,
it's a leverage penalty, they're probably both going, well, who's
it on? Well, it was on Denver and it was
a fifteen yarder. Now, all of a sudden, you have
a really manageable kick there that the Colts with Daniel Dimes,
And that was impressive, Yes, Todd.

As soon as he missed that sixty yard and the
Colts mascot pretended to collapse in front of the field
goal post, I put both my arms up in the
air and I whispered to my wife. We survived a
three hundred yard passer and one hundred and sixty five
year Russia.

And then all of a sudden, I started staying, wait
a second, this game may not be over. And that
was a very very brief sigh of relief. I turned
into a loss.

Screaming and yelling for over three hours on every play,
and then I had a pounding headache till at least
two hours after the game.

with me, so whether she was paying attention or that
while she was playing Candy Crush and doing whatever work
on her laptop, she sat there on the couch watching
the festivities.

the updated national title odds after this weekend. It's Ohio
State and Penn State tide. Then it's Oregon, followed closely

I'll see we haven't updated this one of their worst
weekend NFL edition Bears, Dolphins, Broncos. Right now, the Bears
have about fifty four percent of that vote, followed by
the Dolphins Broncos.

Yeah, I think the Colts are better than what people think,
and I think they'll be knocking on the doorstep of
a playoff appearance. I do, and Denver had a shot
to win that probably well here's Sean Payton, the Broncos
head coach.

It'll be painful to watch that film, and yep, you
know we'll get the corrections made, so it starts with
me our staff. But we had a number of opportunities
to not be in that position late, and unfortunately, you know,
we we shot ourselves in the foot too many times.

Don't you think it would be more entertaining with these
placekickers being so good? That's sixty yards is nothing. Now,
you should be able to do whatever you want. You
should be able to throw like a teammate in the
air to try to block a field goal. You know,
if it's going to become routine for the placekicker, why
don't we give the defense it's an opportunity to Hey,
you grab your guy and throw him up in the

And they didn't really explain it right after the call
was made during the Colts Broncos game. But the defensive
lineman for the Broncos he lightly used the back of
the right guard to get a little air and try
to block the kick. Why can't you do that? Why
can't you go over the center. He's not some you know,
he's not a kid. I don't understand the rule.

Okay, I'm not gonna let you run and jump over
the offensive line. I get that, but you should be
able to do something. They've they've taken away every advantage,
any advantage that the defense has had before.

Oh he jumped, Well, he tried to block you. You
can't jump, yes, Todd.

It's not like they brought a ladder out there and

send me a line on each person's pick, and then
he cut it and sent it to Martin, So yes,

that's why you wanted it brought back. Amongst the reasons, yes,
and that we we took chances. You were so bold
to say that the Eagles were going to be two

Correct, more so the prediction of the reaction against the Chiefs,
the overreaction of the Chiefs.

was favored to win as your big bold headline.

I more picked like the reaction. That was my prediction
of what the lead would be.

you know what, I'm going to take the defending Super
Bowl champs.

They're going to be oh and two.

They were underdogs at home, by the way, but how
about them cowboys? Could Really that is what the lead
should always be. The lead should always be the cowboy.
It almost was Dak Prescott talking about who should get
credit for the come from behind to win against the Giants.

Told him that game was the epitome of him and
his coaching styles. Is the resiliency he has and the
way and I mean the way he carries himself, the
way he coaches, the standards, the standard and at the
end of the day, that's winning. And that's what this game,

the worst is pretty much anybody not Miami in the

state of Florida. I've been in Tampa about fifteen years

getting rolled. I've got a lot of USF friends, and

You know, I just thought they'd hang a little tougher

That they were seventeen and a half point underdogs, and
I was just hoping that maybe you lose by fourteen,
be respectable. But they got crushed. Miami was not going
to leave anything open to interpretation there. I watched some
of the Emmys last night. Nate Bargatsey was the big,

big host there. Popular comedian joined us in Tahoe there,
and I don't know the best show that I saw
this year. You know, sometimes you watch those shows you're
reminded of these shows, But did anybody have a well
that was the best show I saw this year?

Whether they won last night? Yeah, Paul the show The Pit.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
It's about an emergency room in Pittsburgh, and I saw
it on one of our flights out to Tahoe and
I was like, they're putting Noah Wiley as an emergency
room physician. This is kind of a tired idea because
he did Er for so long. It's completely different than ERE.
A great show, very transfixing, and it won a lot.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
Anybody else have any shows that? Yeah, I really liked
this season of Severance.
Speaker 9 (20:58):
I thought was really good. I think that Once Awards
that's a hell of a show. Penguin was really good too.
Speaker 7 (21:04):
Yeah.

Colin Farrell though as the penguin unreal. Yeah, there's no
penguins in the Penguin. I just want to let people know, Yes.
Speaker 9 (21:12):
You know, it is a great show too that people
should watch. And I think there's a new season that
either just came out or about to start.

Hacks is so good. Hacks is a great show. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (21:20):
I watched that from the beginning and I thought it
was wonderful. I thought it was it's really based on
Joan Rivers, the well deceased comedian, but she was she
was groundbreaking, you know what Joan did and hosting the
Tonight Show and you know she didn't take anything from anybody,
and in a male dominated field, she was a dynamo.

And this is based it feels like off her as
a stand up comedian, late night host.
Speaker 3 (21:51):
Dampon the show the Studio really cleaned up. That's seth
Rogan's show where he's the new Hollywood studio head. It's
you may not love the show. I mean I think
I loved it. It's unbelievable filmmaking. They did a couple
episodes where they had a shot that was forty five
minutes long, like they had they didn't have any cuts,
and it's once you know what it's about, You're like, well,

how did they do this?
Speaker 2 (22:13):
Yeah, but they did that for Birdman with Michael Keaton.
That movie is just it's one shot and people at
the time were like, what's this? And I was like,
this is incredible, incredible cinema cinematography to be able to
pull that off in a movie. And it's one take
and he's inside, he's outside, and then all of a

sudden to see the studio, and the studio is great,
said Michael Keaton.

Movie won a bunch of Oscars.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
He didn't for it. Yeah, yeah, he didn't win.

I'm always amazed sometimes when you're like, wait, the movie one,
but you didn't win, or you won, but the movie
Tom Hanks won for.

Uh, the war movie Saving Private r Yeah he wins,
but I don't think any anybody else does.

And that's when Shakespeare in Love with Gwyneth Paltrow ended
up winning, and I went, oh my god, are you
kidding me?

This Academy. That's why I'll never get nominated. Yeh see.
And that Saving.

Saving Private Ryan, So I was gonna say a different title.
Saving Private Ryan re sort of like change the way
we do movies like that now, those like war movies
like that, they've never been the same since then, where
it's that sort of close up, shaky handheld footage. That's

every war movie is made that way now and it
really wasn't done that way before him.
Speaker 2 (23:45):
And Tom Hanks has been in a few of these
military or war movies and it probably gets to take
a little victory lap there.
Speaker 3 (23:55):
Yeah, Tom Hanks produced Band of Brothers. He put that
together with his weight you know. Did you guys see
the show here called Paradise. I would fully recommend it.
I cannot tell you what it's about. It's about some
because it would be a total spoiler because the first
episode is like, oh my gosh, I can't believe this
is what happened. It's a great show. Sterling K Brown
is in it, in a few other really top actors.

I would fully recommend Paradise Paradise. I don't want to
spoil though.

Okay, White Lotus was always interesting. That was all three
of those different shows that they've had or seasons of
White Lotus.

You can't outrun Father time. The Steelers fell flat against

size to go. I have a great feeling or I
have a bad feeling. I know exactly what this player

It's about an emergency room in Pittsburgh, and I saw
it on one of our flights out to Tahoe and
I was like, they're putting Noah Wiley as an emergency

he did Er for so long. It's completely different than ERE.
A great show, very transfixing, and it won a lot.

this season of Severance.

I thought was really good. I think that Once Awards

I watched that from the beginning and I thought it
was wonderful. I thought it was it's really based on
Joan Rivers, the well deceased comedian, but she was she
was groundbreaking, you know what Joan did and hosting the
Tonight Show and you know she didn't take anything from anybody,
and in a male dominated field, she was a dynamo.

And this is based it feels like off her as
a stand up comedian, late night host.

Dampon the show the Studio really cleaned up. That's seth
Rogan's show where he's the new Hollywood studio head. It's
you may not love the show. I mean I think
I loved it. It's unbelievable filmmaking. They did a couple
episodes where they had a shot that was forty five
minutes long, like they had they didn't have any cuts,
and it's once you know what it's about, You're like, well,

how did they do this?

Yeah, but they did that for Birdman with Michael Keaton.
That movie is just it's one shot and people at
the time were like, what's this? And I was like,
this is incredible, incredible cinema cinematography to be able to
pull that off in a movie. And it's one take

sudden to see the studio, and the studio is great,
said Michael Keaton.

really wasn't done that way before him.

And Tom Hanks has been in a few of these
military or war movies and it probably gets to take

Yeah, Tom Hanks produced Band of Brothers. He put that
together with his weight you know. Did you guys see
the show here called Paradise. I would fully recommend it.
I cannot tell you what it's about. It's about some
because it would be a total spoiler because the first
episode is like, oh my gosh, I can't believe this
is what happened. It's a great show. Sterling K Brown
is in it, in a few other really top actors.

to Shakespeare in Loff and my wife looks at me, like,
that's not going to be a good after party. The
post party at the Academy Awards was Saving Private Ryan,
and it was more of a wake than it was now.
They won five, but they didn't win Best Picture, Best Actor.

I don't know if the Best Director or any of that,
but they did win five Academy Awards, So e me
on Tom Hanks, Yes, Marvin.

What about the guy that won for Best Sound Editing? Like, oh,
we won Best Sound Editing. I got an Oscar.

I don't know if they were really celebrating that when
he came in and they go, yeah, best sound.

Spielberg won.

Yes, is that one of those Best Picture wins like
Forrest Gump. When now looking back onto thirty years later,
you're like, babeat whatever movie like pulp Fiction and shaw
Shank lost the Force Gump.

Yeah, that's an awesome movie, though I don't think it
was better than Shawshank.

Shawshank's the best movie I've ever seen.

I was watching it the other night.

At the very end when Red goes to get the money,
and there's there's one moment there. It's so small, but
it's so great that he's he's he's found this money
and Andy Dufrayne left it for him, and you could
see where he looks around real quick. He's out in
the middle of nowhere, in this field, under this tree,

and he just doesn't like a real quick look. And
then he realizes what's in there and all this money,
and then he talks about violating his parole board and
going getting on a bus and although I wonder, you know,
Andy just happened to be out there with his boat,
and you know, Hollywood ending there a little bit that's pretty.

Good using nothing but a map.

I mean, you know, they're not even really talking to
each other on payphones or anything. And he was able
to track him down on that beach.

He bought a compass to find the money. I don't

I saw a recent interview with Tim Robbins. He said
the movie was supposed to end and was ending with
Red on the bus and that was gonna be They're
gonna go to black and that was gonna be it.
And they tested it and like, wait, he doesn't get
back together with Andy Dufrain as his best friend. And
they said, well that's assumed. Like no, And so they
called Tim Robbins and said we have to do a reshoot.
We're going to shoot one more scene. He goes, no,

I don't think so I don't agree with it. He goes,
we're gonna be in Saint Lucia for a week. He goes,
sign me up and they shot the last scene with
him on the boat.

He told me many many years ago, and he said
that that movie is the number one movie, or was
the number one movie in China for a long, long
long time because it gave people hope of getting out
of China and his opinion, you know, communist China, and
he talked about that it gave it gives everybody hope
